by dangerous driving, after eight people in a minibus

were killed in a crash on the M1 near Newport Pagnell yesterday.

The minibus is private lost his life in a crash on the MWarren which left

eight people dead. Tributes were paid today. Such a family orientated

man, very genuine ungentlemanly. Personally, he was a close friend of

mine. He was just like a brother to me. Friends at the service wanted to

share memories of this well-known churchgoer. In unity, we all stand

for him. We lost a beloved friend. Cyriac Joseph lived on this quiet

cul-de-sac on the edge of Nottingham. Today, local people have

discovered that their neighbour lost his life while at work. One

described him as a lovely man, and another neighbour said he

occasionally saw Mr Joseph in the front garden playing cricket with

his children. He was driving a minibus from his company is when the

collision happened near Newport Pagnell on Saturday morning put up

two Lloris, one from FedEx and another from AIN Logistics, were

involved in the accident. Both companies have expressed sympathy

for those who have lost loved ones. And to the four people, including a

five-year-old girl, who were taken to hospital. Today, an IT company

confirmed that three of its employees died in the crash and

another member of staff is seriously ill. Both lorry drivers have been

charged with eight counts of causing death by dangerous driving. One of

them, a 31-year-old from Evesham, has also been charged with

drink-driving. He has been remanded in custody to appear in court

tomorrow. The other driver, David Wagstaff, who is 53 and from

Stoke-on-Trent, has been bailed to appear before magistrates next

example, the continuation of free movement of Luvvies Labour, --

labour. they're not putting a time limit on it. we want to say that

they need to reach an arrangement that maintains the long term

relationship between trading with europe and jobs within this country.

and we need to look at trading arrangements with the rest of the

world. jeremy corbyn is speaking at the edinburgh festival, but behind

the scenes in labour, there has been pressure on him to go even further

and commit to permanent single market membership. people would like

to see the labour party committing to single market membership and

customs union after the transition period after the uk has left the eu.

but some labour mps who voted to leave the eu disagreed. jeremy

Thanks very much indeed, Clive. Across this city right now, an

unprecedented crisis is unfolding. Hundreds of rescues are taking place

at this very moment, and we have just heard in the past few seconds

that this weather event is on a scale never before recorded in

history, with the possibility of rainfall reaching up to 50 inches,

the most ever seen in this state. Harvey arrived in Houston with a

vengeance, no longer backing the full force of a hurricane, but still

deadly. In just 24 hours, more than two feet of rain fell on the fourth

largest city in the United States. The results are devastating. This

appears to be either the worst one of the worst floods Houston has ever

had, and we are measuring it not in inches but in feet. Houston has

ground to a halt, and with the rain still teeming down, the waters keep

on rising. Police are urging people not to venture out, not to risk

their lives, and this is why. Pedro told us he was almost swept away. I

got stuck so I had to find a way to come home. I had to walk all the way

there, and the rescue boat is over there, but it was helping someone

else, so... There are rescues happening at there? Yeah. The storm

has crippled transport and let people struggling to go about their

lives. Right now, it is hard to believe that this is the richest

nation on earth. You get the sense here of just how quickly this

situation is unfolding. The flooding clearly caught these drivers by

surprise, and still the rain is coming down, with no sign of it

stopping. The authorities are struggling to cope. They are calling

for more boats to be sent in. More than 2000 people in need of rescue

have called the emergency services, and the Mayor is trying to stem a

sense of panic. Were coming to you, OK? We want people to know in this

city, if you are there, there is a need, we will get to you. I would

simply ask that you remain calm, remain a little patient. We will get

to you. 16 years ago, this city was devastated by the most serious

flooding in its history. Already, this is looking worse. James Cook,

Notting Hill are packed. You can hear the sound systems playing

reggae and other musics. There is the smell of chicken wafting through

the air, and of course, the glorious outfits. Today has also been hugely

emotional. As well as celebration, there has been commemoration. A lot

of today has been about narrate it -- honouring the people who died in

a Grenfell Tower disaster, and many more who became homeless. It started

with a song to heal broken hearts. A promise of strength. Grenfell, we

are united. Amen. And then, with the joyous sounds and vibrant colours of

carnival, they celebrated the lives of those taken by tragedy. Many wore

green for Grenfell, a colour symbolising growth and renewal. We

are doing this in honour of the victims, to be honest with you. I

have got my own relatives who died. We love the Carnival, Kadija loves

the Carnival. We're bringing back colour and bringing back life. At

times, those watching the procession were overwhelmed, sad and for those

who once had a front row seat to the biggest street party in Europe. But

with laughter and love, Carnival paid respect in the way it knows

how. To bring us all together as a caring, sharing community, that we

are all one Love, one community, and together, we are much more

successful, and together, we celebrate the best of Britain. There

have been moments of reflection, stillness and solitude, as well as

gratitude for those who saved lives. Carnival has always had its roots

film rarely within this community -- firmly within this community. It was

started by immigrants who are facing racism, inequality and poor housing.

Much of this still resonates on the streets of Notting Hill today. Since

Grenfell Tower, the sense of community is important. We have

already had a minute's silence for them and everything. Everyone had

that minute. It is a good spirit right now, good vibes. Notting Hill

Carnival will always symbolise celebration, freedom, but in the

shadow of Grenfell, it has a new purpose, as a voice for a community
