Some of those in emergency

accommodation have already accepted

emergency accommodation, but it

takes time to fit out the

accommodation, to fit it with white

goods. I am confident the Royal

borough of Kensington and Chelsea,

who are planning to spend nearly a

quarter of £1 billion acquiring

property, have now got the message

and the former lack of emotional

intelligence and empathy is now

behind us and they're now getting on

with the job.

Can he tell me, I any

of those who are claiming no social

housing, were any of those tenants

of Grenfell Tower, who had moved out

and unlawfully let their

accommodation to more than one

family? Because I don't think we

need to too much sympathy for people

who behaved like that.

I am not sure

I fully understood his question. The

assistance that the government and

the Royal order of Kensington and

Chelsea have extended as to those

who were living in Grenfell Tower at

the time, who are now homeless or

who were homeless shortly after the

fire, so anybody who is living there

at the time is now being assisted by

the borough. He has lived through

tragic circumstances where people

have lost their life and he will

know better than anyone else in this

house the trauma that those people

have been through. I think we ought

to allow them the time and the space

is to find suitable accommodation to

move into.

Could he say why, in the

aftermath of the Grenfell Tower

tragedy, the government continues

apace with his deregulation agenda?

So far as Grenfell Tower is

concerned, she will know that a

review is shortly to produce its

interim review on fire regulation

and fire safety. She'll know that

after the tragedy at Grenfell Tower,

advice was given on two occasions to

owners of property that might not

conform with appropriate cladding,

on how to make safety measures

appropriate for those blocks. And

the whole thrust of the enquiry

under Sir Martin Ward Bick, the

whole thrust of the enquiry is to

make sure that nothing like this

ever happens
