Swansea Valley. David Powell, Charlie Breslin, Garry Jenkins and

Philip Hill died after the accident at Gleision colliery. Almost �1

million has been raised. This morning, while explaining how the

money would be shared, the trustees emphasised that no sum would be

able to make up for the loss. money has been fantastic, but these

people have lost their husbands and fathers. Money does not bring that

back. Two widows and a partner will receive money as well as the

children. The trustees admit it is difficult to please everyone.

one of a number of protests that took place in July concerning the

prices farmers get for their milk. By the end of the month farmers and

milk producers discussed a voluntary scheme but what new

rights will the farmers have from this code? If they don't believe

they are being treated properly, they will be able to take action.

Milk processers will also be able to have discussions. There will be

a way of setting the price, but the farmer will have to be given a

month's notice if there are any changes. An independent inspector

will be keeping an eye on the situation. If the system isn't

with two medals, I couldn't be happier for him. What about his

Robin McBryde has put his name to a campaign. It's not necessarily

older people who develop diabetes. Young people also go on to develop

it. If you know of someone who has diabetes, you realise how common a

disease it is. 11,000 people have a stroke every

year. 350,000 people are also aware that they are at high risk of

developing type II diabetes. There was a similar campaign to this last

year concentrating on diabetes alone. You will be able to go to a

local pharmacy and ask for a questionaire. After filling out

that questionaire the pharmacist will be able to tell you if you are

at high risk of developing diabetes or if you are at risk of having a
