As the Cardiff Met welcomed its newest students, managers are still

waiting for information by the Education Minister to support his

decision of abolishing the university and forcing it to merge.

He said he wanted to create one university for south-east Wales by

merging Newport, glam organ and the Cardiff Met - gam organ. This

summer, Newport university and Glamorgan university said they

would merge. The Education Minister hasn't

published details of the business plan. The chairman of Cardiff Met's

Board of Governors believed it doesn't exist.

We have the conclusion that the minister didn't have the

information about how much it was going to cost, what the taxpayer is

going to have to put into this to fund the gap. He doesn't know what

the risks are associated with his proposal. Cardiff Met say they are

still concerned about the way the Education Minister's officials are

dealing with the matter. They are considering presenting a report to

the Assembly's Public Accounts Committee. They have discussed

their concerns with the auditor general. The union which represents

staff are of the opinion these comments won't help the university.

I think the important information has come out. A report came out

earlier than many other reports have come out which favour the

merger of the three universities. We have a strong case for merging

the three universities. The Assembly Government will

consider any response to the matter. The minister has had two years to

give us the evidence. The fact that hasn't been published yet makes me

feel that we'll legislate on something we haven't got enough

evidence on. The process is expecting to

31-year-old mother. She was in a party in these flats in Penygroes

when she argued with Alwen Jones's sister. After the stabbing, she ran

away with several of Emma Jones' friends following her. She was

arrested soon after. Dewi Harding Jones interviewed Alwen Jones after

she was arrested. It was obvious that Alwen Jones had a bad temper.

She carried a knife from her house and walked for ten minutes to the

flat. She intended to stab her. The judge told Alwen Jones : These

were the actions of a person who was looking for trouble and ready

The judge said that anyone who would have crossed Alwen Jones on

that night could have been in danger.

He said Emma Jones was in the wrong On Anglesey, campaigners opposing

received 48 applications to erect wind turbines, seven have been

second consultation period has just finished. We hold - hope that the

council is a council that listens. There were strong arguments for the

first consultation period. We will look in detail at every opposition

and support. We will then reach a decision on it.

The guidelines aren't acceptable for the protesters behind me. One

in ten of the electorate in Anglesey's sent the council a

farmer Tegwyn Jones. He and his family are working on their third

hydroelectric project. The income from the scheme's been beneficial.

It's made a difference between one thing at home and two staying at

home. I hope they'll both help the family in the area. But

hydroelectricty projects aren't a new thing in similar rural areas.

Having electricity for the first time was a blessing for many.

It was very handy but a you couldn't get it any other way. It

saved us a lot. Now, 15 farmers in the area under

the name Egni Mawwddy want to set up the schemes in the area, it

would mean investments of more than �5 million and they say the area's

perfect for such plans joofplt it's a very mountainous region. There

are plenty of opportunities to create electricity here. There is a

lot of water flowing. It will be an opportunity for many young families

here. But there is a problem. The electricity cables need upgrading.

I think Scottish prower should invest with the Welsh Government

helping as well. It won't just help the farmers, but the whole region.

It will help the economy. Egni Mawwddy will meet Scottish

After the Olympics and the Paralympics over the summer, there

was hope that more people would take part in sport.

But new figures show that dream is being threatened. Councils don't

have to have leisure centres. Across Wales, there's been an

average drop of 5% in expenditure in leisure centres. Anglesey

Council and Swansea Council have cut back, but other councils have

increased their expenditure on leisure. This leisure centre is an

example of investment in Pembrokeshire, but there has been a

change in provision in other parts of the county. The County Council

decided not to renovate the swimming pool here for monetary

reasons. People had protested against the decision. In its place,

a new sports hall was built at a cost of more than �1 million. It is

something that will cost less to run in the future.

We have decided to build new leisure centres. We would invest

here. Local authorities are looking at

more creative ways of providing these services. We are rooking at

different models. We hope that expenditure can be cut back without

those who news the service noticing. Despite that, cutting the budget is

a huge concern to one of Wales's main runners. We need a boost for

sport sport. We don't need money being cut. It seems the strain will

make sure that we invest in leisure. It will mean less pressure on the
