Hello, I'm Ros Atkins, this is Outside Source.

:00:09.:00:12.

The lead story for the past few hours has been what's happening

:00:13.:00:15.

SPEAKER: a major counterterrorist operation is taking place in one

:00:16.:00:26.

suburb of the city. One suspect has been shot dead after several

:00:27.:00:28.

officers including a female French officer were injured during a raid.

:00:29.:00:34.

It's a really important day in the US primaries.

:00:35.:00:36.

Five states are voting for their presidential candidates -

:00:37.:00:38.

The stakes couldn't be higher for Donald Trump's rivals.

:00:39.:00:42.

I want to play you this report a little later.

:00:43.:00:46.

It consists only of Syrian children describing how five years

:00:47.:00:49.

And in sport, we will bring you up-to-date on the Champions League

:00:50.:01:06.

and the cricket World Cup 2020. -- Twenty20.

:01:07.:01:16.

It's being dubbed Super Tuesday Two - five states are voting in US

:01:17.:01:19.

presidential primaries today, and they could prove decisive

:01:20.:01:22.

as much for those trying to stay in the race

:01:23.:01:26.

is significantly ahead of Bernie Sanders.

:01:27.:01:37.

That takes into account the super delegates that have pledged

:01:38.:01:41.

For the Republicans - Donald Trump is ahead of Ted Cruz

:01:42.:01:46.

by almost 100 delegates - Marco Rubio and John Kasich

:01:47.:01:50.

The states voting today are Illinois, Missouri,

:01:51.:02:00.

Ohio and this state - Florida. It's Marco Rubio's home state.

:02:01.:02:11.

He has to win it to have any chance of getting the nomination.

:02:12.:02:16.

Let's go to Nick Bryant who is in Miami, Florida for us.

:02:17.:02:24.

So he has to win it. Does it look possible? Donald Trump is going to

:02:25.:02:33.

win Miami, I think. Little doubt about that. Marco Rubio hoped that

:02:34.:02:37.

Florida, his home state, would give him a big victory. It is a winner

:02:38.:02:42.

takes all state, which means the delegates are not apportioned

:02:43.:02:45.

proportionately. The person who wins that is all 99. That is why it is

:02:46.:02:49.

the biggest prize yet in the Republican nomination race. Rubio

:02:50.:02:53.

hoped he could pull off a victory here, but he is languishing way

:02:54.:02:57.

behind in the polls. His political obituary is frankly already being

:02:58.:03:03.

written. Mark Twain may have said, the reports of my death are dredged.

:03:04.:03:08.

Alas for Marco Rubio, he cannot claim that now. He is going to

:03:09.:03:12.

suffer a political defeat and will have to drop out. This race has been

:03:13.:03:16.

as much about personality as policy, while what is deciding the way

:03:17.:03:23.

people vote on the Republican side? People like the fact that Donald

:03:24.:03:27.

Trump isn't a politician. The problem for Marco Rubio is that he

:03:28.:03:30.

is an establishment favourite in an anti establishment year. Bernie

:03:31.:03:35.

Sanders on the Democratic side has been a beneficiary of that as well.

:03:36.:03:38.

People like Donald Trump telling it as it is. It sounds extreme, vulgar

:03:39.:03:43.

and racist too many, but a lot of Americans like that kind of straight

:03:44.:03:47.

talking. They believe it is just what Washington needs, a city that

:03:48.:03:50.

has been in a state of gridlock for so long. If Donald Trump wins a

:03:51.:03:56.

sweep to my comedy becomes almost unstoppable. It is hard to see

:03:57.:04:02.

anybody holding his progress towards the Republican nomination. But he

:04:03.:04:06.

could suffer a defeat in Ohio. John Kasich is a popular guy over there.

:04:07.:04:12.

Two guys into his governorship, he has a 65% approval rating, and he is

:04:13.:04:16.

hoping he can translate that the polarity into a win in Ohio. John

:04:17.:04:20.

Kasich believes if he can win Ohio, he suddenly becomes the great rival

:04:21.:04:24.

to Donald Trump and it bends the entire race. Thank you very much.

:04:25.:04:31.

Let's speak to Katty Kay in Washington from the World News

:04:32.:04:37.

America studio. John Kasich is trying to win in Ohio, but is he

:04:38.:04:43.

really a contender? Could that propel him into the Republican

:04:44.:04:48.

establishment's choice? I am not sure that being the Republican

:04:49.:04:53.

establishment's choice is much of an advantage. Look what happened to

:04:54.:04:57.

Marco Rubio, the darling of the establishment. But it could keep him

:04:58.:05:02.

in the race. That is important, because so far, there is a lot of

:05:03.:05:07.

debate about how to stop the Trump. Do you stop him by this becoming a

:05:08.:05:11.

two person race, Donald Trump versus Ted Cruz, and Ted Cruz takes votes

:05:12.:05:16.

away from Donald Trump, or do you keep as many people in the race as

:05:17.:05:20.

possible, and that chips away at Donald Trump's ability to get into

:05:21.:05:28.

the brokered convention in July? Florida is interesting, because

:05:29.:05:31.

Marco Rubio is down there. Donald Trump will be there as well. Nick

:05:32.:05:36.

Bryant is there as well. But I am watching Ohio tonight, because I

:05:37.:05:40.

want to see what happens with John Kasich and whether Donald Trump

:05:41.:05:45.

makes inroads among the people we might have called Reagan Democrats,

:05:46.:05:50.

white, working-class voters, men, who perhaps in the past might have

:05:51.:05:53.

voted Democrat but this time switching to Donald Trump. It will

:05:54.:05:57.

be a very interesting state to watch. We inevitably spend more time

:05:58.:06:01.

talking about the Republican standard Democrats because it has

:06:02.:06:04.

Donald Trump and it is more complex, but the New York Times has won an

:06:05.:06:08.

analysis suggesting that Donald Trump has received millions of

:06:09.:06:11.

dollars worth of free media coverage, the point being, has the

:06:12.:06:16.

media been fair, or has it played Donald Trump's game's undoubtedly,

:06:17.:06:23.

if you look at the minutes per day, Donald Trump is getting hands down

:06:24.:06:28.

more minutes. At one point, he was getting nine times as much air time

:06:29.:06:31.

as any of his Republican competitors. And you could throw the

:06:32.:06:35.

Democrats in with that as well. He is a larger-than-life figure and he

:06:36.:06:39.

is a story, because he has done extremely well. He's not a

:06:40.:06:43.

conventional politician. Nobody thought he was going to do this

:06:44.:06:47.

well. I said this back in June and I was wrong. So he has been worth

:06:48.:06:52.

covering. The result has been that he has had to spend very little of

:06:53.:06:58.

his own money on television advertising, and he calls into

:06:59.:07:02.

programmes the whole time. You can't get through watching cable

:07:03.:07:04.

television here without Donald Trump calling in. He has made himself

:07:05.:07:09.

accessible. He has defied expectations and if he wins the

:07:10.:07:12.

nomination, you have to give him a shot at being the next president of

:07:13.:07:17.

the United States. But it has meant that he has been able to save his

:07:18.:07:21.

resources, and it has given him at huge amount of name recognition, no

:07:22.:07:26.

doubt. Let's could you talk about the Democrats. I alluded briefly to

:07:27.:07:30.

the super delegates earlier. For those who are not students of US

:07:31.:07:33.

politics, who are they and why does it matter in terms of who has the

:07:34.:07:37.

best chance out of Clinton or Sanders? The super delegates are a

:07:38.:07:46.

group of party grandees. There are local councilman, members of the

:07:47.:07:49.

Democratic National committee. They are the top bigwigs in the

:07:50.:07:52.

Democratic party and they get a vote at the convention as well. This time

:07:53.:07:57.

around, the super delegates have all declared early on that they will be

:07:58.:08:02.

for Hillary Clinton. Let me remind you of some history. In 2008, the

:08:03.:08:05.

super delegates did the same honour they declared that they would be for

:08:06.:08:09.

Hillary Clinton. Fast forward to later in the campaign, and Barack

:08:10.:08:14.

Obama is doing well and looks like he's going to get the nomination,

:08:15.:08:17.

and the super delegates switch allegiance and go for Barack Obama.

:08:18.:08:21.

They will go for whoever is the front runner, but it is a slightly

:08:22.:08:26.

undemocratic process and the Bernie Sanders camp is not happy about the

:08:27.:08:30.

super delegates declaring so early for Hillary Chin to. I am sure we

:08:31.:08:37.

will speak later in the week. By the way, Donald Trump, if you want to

:08:38.:08:41.

call feature-macro, give us a ring any time! If you want to follow how

:08:42.:08:48.

these primaries go for Mr Trump and anyone else, do follow BBC Two.

:08:49.:08:54.

And if you're in the UK - do tune into BBC 2 for

:08:55.:08:57.

the beginning of a four part series on US President Barack Obama's time

:08:58.:09:00.

And we will have full coverage of these primary results as they come

:09:01.:09:05.

through, but don't expect them any time soon. Were talking a few hours

:09:06.:09:12.

down the line. In a few minutes' time, we will play

:09:13.:09:18.

you this report. It is a moving series of interviews with Syrian

:09:19.:09:22.

children, talking about the impact the last five years has had on their

:09:23.:09:24.

lives. A group of parents went

:09:25.:09:30.

to the British Parliament today calling for all children up to 11

:09:31.:09:34.

to be vaccinated against The Government says it

:09:35.:09:36.

would not be cost-effective. Currently, the vaccine

:09:37.:09:39.

is only given to infants. The faces of some of the children

:09:48.:09:58.

ever online petition. Today, their parents went to see MPs

:09:59.:10:02.

to call for the vaccine for meningitis B to be

:10:03.:10:05.

extended to more children. Among them, former England rugby

:10:06.:10:11.

captain Matt Dawson, I know, and my wife

:10:12.:10:13.

knows, we are lucky that we are in a position

:10:14.:10:24.

where we can These parents want the meningitis B

:10:25.:10:26.

vaccine to be made available The father who started the petition

:10:27.:10:30.

was told one of his daughters We are a modern country,

:10:31.:10:34.

not a Third World country. This two-month-old is having

:10:35.:10:38.

the meningitis B vaccine. The UK is the first place in Europe

:10:39.:10:52.

to offer it routinely, but only

:10:53.:10:55.

for children under the age of one. The Government said it is not

:10:56.:10:57.

cost-effective to extend This is one of the labs

where the meningitis B vaccine It is an alarming disease,

:11:00.:11:05.

because of the speed and severity But it is also a rare disease,

:11:06.:11:08.

and over the past ten years in the UK, the number

:11:09.:11:14.

of cases has been declining. That is part of the reason

:11:15.:11:16.

the Government's scientific advisers have not

:11:17.:11:20.

recommended that older children should

:11:21.:11:22.

get the meningitis B vaccine. They made their decision

:11:23.:11:23.

on the best evidence available. On that basis, under ones,

:11:24.:11:31.

it is appropriate to give it to them, but for older children

:11:32.:11:35.

it would cost such a lot and

:11:36.:11:42.

would mean they could not spend There is a question

about whether young adults At 21, he got meningitis

:11:51.:11:53.

to transmit the disease, and some

:11:54.:11:56.

scientists want to see whether vaccinating them

:11:57.:11:58.

would protect the whole population. This is Outside Source,

:11:59.:12:10.

live from the BBC newsroom. There's been a shootout at a house

:12:11.:12:12.

in Belgium during a police operation linked to last year's

:12:13.:12:17.

attacks in Paris. Latest reports say one

:12:18.:12:20.

attacker has been killed. World News America will have

:12:21.:12:24.

a special programme looking at what's being called

:12:25.:12:33.

Super Tuesday 2.0. Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton

:12:34.:12:39.

will both be aiming to secure In the UK, you have the news channel

:12:40.:12:56.

or if you switch to BBC Two, you have a programme about President

:12:57.:12:57.

Obama. Let's bring you the sport. We go

:12:58.:13:15.

live to the BBC Sport Centre now. Olly Foster is with us. Man City are

:13:16.:13:20.

looking pretty good. They are. They are 3-1 up. But not such a super

:13:21.:13:26.

choose Day in the Champions League. No goals at half-time in either of

:13:27.:13:32.

those games. A good cushion for Manchester City for them to, you

:13:33.:13:35.

would think, reach the quarterfinals of the Champions League for the

:13:36.:13:43.

first time. There were two injuries to Vincent Kompany. After five

:13:44.:13:47.

minutes, he kicked the ball out, slumped onto his backside and

:13:48.:13:51.

signalled to the bench, that is it, game over for him, and off he

:13:52.:13:56.

hobbled with a calf problem again. And Nicolas Otamendi, his fellow

:13:57.:14:02.

centre half, had a collision with a Kiev player, a dead leg. He has gone

:14:03.:14:08.

as well. So Manchester City were without their two first choice

:14:09.:14:12.

centre halves. No goals, but they do have that 3-1 advantage from the

:14:13.:14:18.

first leg. We appreciate that update. Those of

:14:19.:14:22.

you watching online can get full coverage.

:14:23.:14:26.

Let's talk about the world Twenty20 cricket which has begun in India.

:14:27.:14:31.

Quite a first game. India are the favourites, but they lost by 47

:14:32.:14:37.

runs. The Black Caps have described it as quite a result. Let's run

:14:38.:14:43.

through how the game went. One of the best-known statisticians of the

:14:44.:14:47.

game pointed out that the target is the lowest ever that India has

:14:48.:14:52.

failed to chase down at a Twenty20 International. But the Indians

:14:53.:14:58.

didn't get close. They were all out for 79. As the Guardian put it, they

:14:59.:15:04.

were skittled. If you want full coverage of this, you can get it all

:15:05.:15:08.

through the BBC Sport website. Just click on cricket.

:15:09.:15:11.

Last week, she admitted failing a drugs test.

:15:12.:15:19.

Now she's been suspended as a goodwill ambassador

:15:20.:15:21.

A while back, we rbought you some pictures of the drone racing league

:15:22.:15:42.

BOX 3 OOV - but Over the weekend, the first

:15:43.:15:59.

World Drone Prix was held in Dubai - and it was won by a team

:16:00.:16:03.

The drones zip around that white track for 12 laps.

:16:04.:16:06.

There were pit stops - at least one per race -

:16:07.:16:09.

The winners got ?174,000 in prize money - it will be shared between 43

:16:10.:16:13.

We were talking earlier about the Russian military

:16:14.:16:16.

withdrawal from Syria - and its possible consequences.

:16:17.:16:18.

I want to finish with a video that features only Syrian children.

:16:19.:16:21.

Here, they are describing the impact their country's war has

:16:22.:16:23.

You can see that video and share it through the BBC online. Thank you

:16:24.:20:05.

for watching and I will speak to you tomorrow. Bye-bye.
