Welcome to Reporting Scotland. Tonight on your national news: | :00:15. | :00:18.
Khalil Dale, the Red Cross worker murdered in Pakistan, and whose | :00:18. | :00:23.
body was dumped by this roadside. A friend says he often met members of | :00:23. | :00:31.
the local Taliban. He had regular meetings with the Taliban, they | :00:31. | :00:36.
would come in with people needing treatment and a good thing is they | :00:36. | :00:39.
treat all victims the same. Dale's funeral will take place in | :00:39. | :00:42.
Dumfriesshire as soon as his body is home. Also this evening: Are | :00:42. | :00:45.
things getting clearer for Rangers fans? Today, an improved bid to buy | :00:45. | :00:53.
the club. But a vote on SPL sanctions is delayed by a week. | :00:53. | :00:56.
Genesis story... A humanist campaign group says schools don't | :00:56. | :00:58.
tell parents they can withdraw their children from religious | :00:58. | :01:03.
lessons. And for sale - 22 80-year- old, down-at-heel TARDISes. Apply | :01:03. | :01:11.
to Lothian and Borders Police. Friends of Khalil Dale, the | :01:11. | :01:14.
Dumfries aid worker whose body was found by a roadside in Pakistan | :01:14. | :01:16.
yesterday, are questioning whether the Taliban were responsible for | :01:16. | :01:21.
his murder. Police say when they recovered Mr Dale's body they found | :01:21. | :01:25.
a note from the Taliban claiming to have carried out the killing. | :01:25. | :01:27.
Tonight, a close friend has told Reporting Scotland that Mr Dale | :01:28. | :01:31.
spoke regularly to the Taliban in his job with the Red Cross and | :01:31. | :01:33.
thinks it's more likely gangsters seeking a ransom are responsible. | :01:33. | :01:43.
Willie Johnston reports. Khalil Dale was snatched at gunpoint from | :01:43. | :01:49.
a car outside the Red Cross offices on 5th January. Close to the Afghan | :01:49. | :01:53.
border, it is the capital of one of the most volatile provinces in | :01:54. | :01:58.
Pakistan. Mr Dale run a hospital there, that brought him into | :01:58. | :02:02.
contact with the Taliban. He had regular meetings with the Taliban, | :02:02. | :02:07.
the Taliban would come with people needing treatment and the thing | :02:07. | :02:10.
about the International Red Cross is a treat all victims the same, | :02:10. | :02:15.
the matter what side of the conflict. He was our that there was | :02:15. | :02:21.
always danger. Mark MacLachlan and his wife were among Mr Dale's | :02:21. | :02:25.
closest friends and were kept informed about efforts to free him. | :02:25. | :02:29.
They are not convinced the Taliban were responsible. What we have been | :02:29. | :02:33.
told is that the chances were that these were not Freedom fighters, | :02:33. | :02:37.
they were covertly gangsters who took this person for money, based | :02:37. | :02:42.
on who he represented. He was a foreigner in Pakistan. There was a | :02:42. | :02:46.
ransom demand, yes. The former health worker spent 30 years | :02:46. | :02:51.
helping people in some of the world's worst trouble spots. His | :02:51. | :02:55.
dedication was recognised with an MBA and a BBC documentary he spoke | :02:55. | :03:02.
in having detail of times spent in Somalia. I was overwhelmed. There | :03:02. | :03:07.
were bodies, people who had died of starvation. People who had gunshot | :03:07. | :03:13.
wounds. Young children, women, lying, waiting to die. Negotiations | :03:13. | :03:17.
for his release were quiet and there was an effective news | :03:17. | :03:21.
blackout since the kidnap. Those close to his family say this was | :03:21. | :03:27.
the right approach. He was such a cheeky character, you had the | :03:27. | :03:31.
feeling that he would wear down his kidnappers! And they did want to | :03:31. | :03:38.
get shot of him, to get rid of him. Up until Sunday, we were convinced | :03:38. | :03:42.
that there would be some happy resolution. We had set our sights | :03:42. | :03:47.
on him being free. Arrangements are being arranged for the body to be | :03:47. | :03:51.
repatriated. The funeral is likely to be in Dumfries, his spiritual | :03:51. | :03:56.
home. Khalil Dale achieved more in his 60 years and most could ever | :03:56. | :04:03.
contemplate. He helped the suffering. He touched people, | :04:04. | :04:08.
whoever he met, he was a warm individual. No higher praise than | :04:08. | :04:13.
to say he was a hero. In this age of false heroes, he was a real hero. | :04:14. | :04:16.
That was Mark MacLachlan, friend of Khalil Dale, ending Willie | :04:16. | :04:21.
Johnston's report. The Scottish Premier League has postponed a vote | :04:21. | :04:23.
on whether to introduce tougher penalties for clubs which become | :04:23. | :04:27.
insolvent. Members were due to decide on changes to the league | :04:27. | :04:34.
this morning. But that decision has now been held back until next week. | :04:34. | :04:37.
Any move would have implications for a new owner of Rangers. And a | :04:37. | :04:40.
fresh bid is now in place for the Ibrox side, as our senior football | :04:40. | :04:45.
reporter, Chris McLaughlin, reports. It seems the battle for Ibrox is | :04:45. | :04:49.
intensifying. Bill Miller and the Blue Knights Consortium continued | :04:49. | :04:54.
to starve the site and tonight, the Blue Knights fired the latest folly. | :04:54. | :04:57.
Another bid submitted, more cash after the brutal the last offer did | :04:57. | :05:03.
not make the grade. Brian Kennedy told us that he held extensive | :05:03. | :05:06.
negotiate shins with the administrator over the weekend in a | :05:06. | :05:09.
bid to provide some deliverable offer that was acceptable to | :05:09. | :05:17.
everyone. Twisting away... What a chance! Perhaps welcome news for | :05:17. | :05:24.
those fans who watched their side take the Parkhead pasting yesterday. | :05:24. | :05:29.
3 - 0 and a plea from the manager. It is a short time, we have to get | :05:29. | :05:35.
something sorted out very soon. I said last week, even a week before, | :05:35. | :05:40.
time was not an hour side and isn't our alive. That is the case at this | :05:40. | :05:45.
moment. Don't delay, the message from Ally McCoist but today at | :05:45. | :05:49.
Hamden Park, all 12 clubs left after agreeing a delay of the run. | :05:49. | :05:53.
It is said to wait until next week to vote on tougher sanctions for | :05:53. | :05:56.
clubs in administration. All 12 clubs felt this was a very | :05:56. | :06:01.
sensitive time with Scottish football and the view was that we | :06:01. | :06:04.
need to take time to come up with financial fair-play rules that are | :06:04. | :06:09.
not merely for one club at all 12. It is one club in particular he | :06:09. | :06:16.
will be watching and waiting. You're watching Reporting Scotland. | :06:16. | :06:18.
Still to come: We'll be looking highlighting the independents | :06:18. | :06:25.
running in the local elections. And fancy buying a TARDIS? Edinburgh's | :06:25. | :06:28.
police boxes are going on the market. In sport, Motherwell are on | :06:28. | :06:31.
the brink of Champions League football. But the message from the | :06:31. | :06:37.
boss is, don't mention it and don't tempt fate. And we'll be in Spain | :06:37. | :06:40.
to hear from the basketball player desperate to fly the flag for | :06:40. | :06:45.
Scotland as part of Team GB at the London Olympics. Should schools do | :06:45. | :06:48.
more to let parents know they have a legal right to withdraw their | :06:48. | :06:53.
children from religious assemblies and lessons? The Humanist Society | :06:53. | :06:56.
of Scotland, which seeks to promote a secular culture, says schools | :06:56. | :06:58.
aren't doing enough to inform parents of their rights. This | :06:58. | :07:08.
:07:08. | :07:09. | ||
report from Seonag MacKinnon. are you sitting there? A question | :07:09. | :07:14.
for the teacher but also the question from non-believers. While | :07:14. | :07:18.
our pupils sitting in religion classes? The campaigning Humanist | :07:18. | :07:23.
Society claims lessons can border on indoctrination. We hear from | :07:23. | :07:26.
parents all over the country that certain schools and especially | :07:26. | :07:30.
primary schools tend to teach one religion like Christianity as the | :07:30. | :07:34.
true religion, with very little time for anything else and non | :07:34. | :07:40.
belief. Our poll today says that schools might be failing in | :07:40. | :07:43.
obligations to make parents aware of the right to withdraw children | :07:43. | :07:48.
and of the or withdrawn, problems in not end. Initially, my children | :07:48. | :07:54.
would be sat outside the office for one hour while assemblies and other | :07:54. | :07:59.
activities take place. Teachers and other pupils would ask them, why | :07:59. | :08:03.
have you been sent to the office? Assuming that they had been | :08:03. | :08:07.
misbehaving. Parents used might change when they realise the | :08:07. | :08:12.
subject has changed. One of the most common things they say is this | :08:12. | :08:17.
is great, I wished -- I wish that religion was like this when I was | :08:17. | :08:21.
at school, it is about world religions and engaging pupils. | :08:21. | :08:27.
Getting them motivated and getting them to think. Few children are | :08:27. | :08:30.
taken out and did it comes to choosing hires, more are choosing | :08:30. | :08:35.
the subject. With over 4000 candidates, it is one of the | :08:36. | :08:44.
fastest-growing hires. Just by other more fans? They don't try to | :08:44. | :08:49.
make may follow religion, it is about separate things. We are not | :08:49. | :08:58.
just resiting the catechism. We are going into depth and making ongoing | :08:58. | :09:02.
decisions in this. Humanists struggle to believe that religious | :09:02. | :09:09.
lessons and Assembly's are wide ranging and optional in all schools. | :09:09. | :09:14.
Staying on religious matters... A coalition of smaller faith groups | :09:14. | :09:17.
in Scotland say the current ban on same-sex marriage is discriminatory | :09:17. | :09:20.
and reinforces homophobia. The group, including the Humanists, | :09:20. | :09:22.
Quakers and Buddhists, gathered outside Holyrood launching their | :09:22. | :09:24.
campaign to end the ban on religious same-sex wedding | :09:24. | :09:27.
ceremonies. The Scottish Government has held a public consultation on | :09:27. | :09:35.
the issue and is considering responses. Police investigating the | :09:35. | :09:38.
murder of a 63-year-old man in Dundee say they're still searching | :09:38. | :09:41.
for a motive. The body of the man, named locally as John Kennedy, was | :09:41. | :09:44.
discovered inside his house in the city's Mossgiel Crescent late last | :09:44. | :09:46.
night after neighbours reported a disturbance. Detectives want to | :09:46. | :09:54.
trace another man wearing a hooded top seen leaving the area. A one- | :09:54. | :09:57.
time friend of murder-accused Nat Fraser lied to police who asked for | :09:57. | :09:59.
help with their inquiry into the disappearance of Mr Fraser's wife, | :09:59. | :10:03.
a court has heard. Hector Dick spoke to officers in the aftermath | :10:03. | :10:07.
of Arlene Fraser's disappearance in 1998. He was giving evidence today | :10:07. | :10:15.
at the High Court in Edinburgh. Lisa Summers reports. Hector Dick | :10:15. | :10:20.
was questioned about the number of times he lied to police about his | :10:20. | :10:23.
involvement in the disappearance of arming Fraser. He admitted he | :10:23. | :10:27.
repeatedly denied any knowledge of where she might be our the Ford | :10:27. | :10:31.
Fiesta that officers believed was key to what happened. He was giving | :10:31. | :10:36.
evidence for a third day. Last week he told the court he had acquired a | :10:36. | :10:41.
car for Nat Fraser but had not told the truth until 2003. QC John Scott | :10:42. | :10:45.
asked him about why he can remember certain details but not other key | :10:45. | :10:50.
events. Mr Scott put it to Hector Dick that you remember what suits | :10:50. | :10:53.
you when it suits you. On one occasion, police were begging him | :10:54. | :10:58.
to tell the truth, offering him a chance to wipe the slate clean but | :10:58. | :11:03.
still Hector Dick did not take the opportunity. The court also heard | :11:03. | :11:07.
that as part of their inquiries in December 1998, police searched the | :11:07. | :11:11.
farm at Hector Dick, questioning him over equipment used for steam | :11:11. | :11:18.
cleaning and reducing dead animals to kneel. Nat Fraser denies | :11:18. | :11:21.
murdering his wife and he has lodged a special defence of | :11:22. | :11:25.
incrimination, saying that of Arlene Foster was murdered, Hector | :11:25. | :11:34.
Dick was responsible. The evidence continues tomorrow. Scotland and | :11:34. | :11:36.
Blackburn footballer David Goodwillie has been given a 12- | :11:36. | :11:38.
month probation order after admitting assaulting a man in | :11:38. | :11:42.
Glasgow. The 23-year-old attacked John Friel in November 2010. The | :11:42. | :11:45.
court heard he lashed out after his then Dundee United teammate Danny | :11:45. | :11:53.
Swanson was knocked unconscious by Friel. A look now at other stories | :11:53. | :11:57.
from around Scotland. The Australian owner of the council and | :11:57. | :12:02.
Yorkshire Bank says that cutting 1400 jobs across the UK. However, | :12:02. | :12:05.
NASA at -- National Australia Bank says that fewer than 60 jobs will | :12:05. | :12:10.
go in Scotland. Tough rules for the charity fundraisers on Glasgow's | :12:10. | :12:14.
streets are being introduced. They will only be able to work on two | :12:14. | :12:19.
days of the Week in certain parts of the city. The RSPB in Shetland | :12:19. | :12:23.
has re-established its world famous Puffin camera. It streams live | :12:23. | :12:29.
pictures from a Puffin nest. It has been upgrade and with four cameras | :12:29. | :12:33.
and infra-red technology for a night watching. The Queen's Jubilee | :12:33. | :12:37.

Diana book. It is the most northerly shelter in the UK. Every | :12:45. | :12:51.
year, people band together to create a new thing. Scientists say | :12:51. | :12:53.
that warm spring weather is attracting basking sharks earlier | :12:53. | :12:58.
this year to the coastal waters around the West of Scotland. The 20 | :12:58. | :13:02.
ft long sharks, which grow to over four tons, are not usually spotted | :13:02. | :13:08.
until the summer. Islanders are hoping their dark and clear night | :13:08. | :13:11.
skies could boost tourism. They are applying to become Scotland's first | :13:11. | :13:16.

attract stargazers in search of a good view. The 25th fire festival - | :13:23. | :13:26.

performers celebrate the start of some work by lighting fires and | :13:29. | :13:34.
brooding over the hill, led by May Queen. And more stories from your | :13:34. | :13:44.
:13:44. | :13:47. | ||
area and all the latest news We go to the polls on Thursday in | :13:47. | :13:49.
council elections and as campaigning enters its final phase, | :13:49. | :13:52.
it is worth remembering that candidates are not just from the | :13:52. | :13:55.
main national parties. Some are either standing as individuals or | :13:55. | :14:01.
as part of a purely local grouping. We've been looking at the role of | :14:01. | :14:04.
the independent councillor and how it has been affected by the | :14:04. | :14:12.
introduction of proportional representation. | :14:12. | :14:15.
At their best, councillors have always tried to represent the whole | :14:15. | :14:23.
community. Their political persuasion, second to putting their | :14:23. | :14:27.
area first. But to understand local politics in a lot of the country, | :14:27. | :14:32.
you need to remember that some local politicians are not even | :14:32. | :14:35.
members of a nationwide party, especially in the Highlands and | :14:35. | :14:42.
Islands. There has been an emphasis on individual in small communities, | :14:42. | :14:47.
people have tended to vote for the people they know. Awards have been | :14:47. | :14:51.
quite small so everybody has known at the councillor and has been | :14:51. | :14:59.
unwell vote for individuals. After the last local elections, Orkney, | :14:59. | :15:04.
Shetland and Western Isles consuls were run by independence while in | :15:04. | :15:08.
the Highlands, they formed a major part of the ruling administration. | :15:08. | :15:15.
But times are changing because of PR in council elections. It has | :15:15. | :15:18.
made it more difficult for people to get elected in some parts of | :15:18. | :15:24.
Scotland where previously they were dominant. In the central belt, | :15:24. | :15:27.
where independence had almost died, one are to have managed to get | :15:27. | :15:32.
elected because you only need to get 20% of the vote. There are some | :15:32. | :15:36.
independent councillors in many areas. The PR system it means we | :15:36. | :15:40.
all have a three or four cancers each. This long-serving independent | :15:40. | :15:43.
councillor who is not seeking re- election has regrets over that | :15:43. | :15:49.
particular move. In the past, you had your own ward and you really | :15:49. | :15:52.
looked after that Ward and I think people appreciate having one | :15:52. | :15:59.
councillor for one ward. The role of independents may continue to | :15:59. | :16:03.
evolve. For instance, the SNP is standing across the Orkney and | :16:03. | :16:06.
Shetland for the first time in a council election. So, how many of | :16:06. | :16:10.
our councillors will be from the big parties and how many want? We | :16:10. | :16:14.
will know on Friday. There's more information on Thursday's local | :16:14. | :16:21.
government elections available on our website. Time now for the | :16:21. | :16:26.
sports news. If results go their way over the | :16:26. | :16:29.
next couple of days, Motherwell can clinch a place in the Champions' | :16:29. | :16:32.
League qualifiers for the first time. Third place in the Scottish | :16:32. | :16:35.
Premier League will be enough to do that this season as second-placed | :16:35. | :16:38.
Rangers financial woes means they don't meet the criteria for playing | :16:38. | :16:40.
European football, but you won't find anyone getting carried away | :16:40. | :16:43.
with the prospect of Champions League football down Fir Park way, | :16:43. | :16:53.
:16:53. | :16:54. | ||
at least not yet. Saturday's when recorded in some | :16:54. | :16:59.
style means Motherwell are on the verge of something special. Third | :16:59. | :17:03.
place in the SPL will earn some on a place in the third qualifying | :17:03. | :17:06.
round of the Champions' League and other well are strong favourites to | :17:06. | :17:11.
be that someone. With only three matches remaining, they hold a | :17:11. | :17:15.
five-point advantage over Dundee United. Victory over Hearts | :17:15. | :17:18.
tomorrow and anything short of a win for United against Rangers on | :17:18. | :17:22.
Wednesday will clinch it. Don't expect any counting our chickens to | :17:22. | :17:26.
be going on at Motherwell. You only look back when the season has | :17:26. | :17:32.
finished. It is no good patting ourselves on the back now. To get | :17:32. | :17:37.
European football, it is terrific, but it would be a disappointment if | :17:37. | :17:42.
we couldn't hang on to third place. It is all in the boys' hands and | :17:42. | :17:48.
they are determined to do it. something you wouldn't think of, | :17:48. | :17:55.
especially playing in this league. It is normally only the Big Two but | :17:55. | :17:58.
get this opportunity. We still have a way to go yet before we can even | :17:58. | :18:03.
think of that. Tomorrow night, hearts are still in the hunt for I | :18:03. | :18:10.
Europa League spot. Having dented United's champions are made for the | :18:10. | :18:14.
straw on Saturday, they can do them a favour by beating Motherwell. | :18:14. | :18:16.
While the fate of Rangers remains uncertain next season, there's no | :18:16. | :18:20.
doubting the immediate future of Ross County. The club is on its way | :18:20. | :18:24.
to the SPL. The runaway winners of the First Division celebrated their | :18:24. | :18:27.
achievement at this parade through the sunny streets of Dingwall on | :18:27. | :18:30.
Saturday. They only joined the Scottish Football League in 1994. | :18:31. | :18:35.
Now the top league beckons. A Court of Arbitration for Sport confirmed | :18:35. | :18:37.
this afternoon that the British Olympic Association has lost its | :18:37. | :18:40.
legal action to stop athletes who have served drug bans from | :18:40. | :18:44.
representing Team GB. The decision clears the way for the Scottish | :18:44. | :18:46.
cyclist David Miller to be considered for London 2012 but | :18:46. | :18:49.
speaking to BBC Scotland a few months back, he said he would | :18:49. | :18:57.
rather focus on the Commonwealth Games in two years' time. | :18:57. | :19:02.
It is something I signed off for a long time ago so I am happy just | :19:02. | :19:06.
looking forward to 2014 in Glasgow and Commonwealth Games. That will | :19:06. | :19:10.
be a much more durable experience than me going to the Olympics even | :19:10. | :19:15.
as a black sheep. I don't know if it would be a joyous experience for | :19:15. | :19:19.
me. Staying for the Olympics, it is less than three months until it all | :19:19. | :19:22.
kicks off in London and for the athletes still waiting to see if | :19:23. | :19:25.
they have been selected to represent her country, it is a | :19:25. | :19:27.
nerve-racking time. One basketball player, Keiran Achara, is | :19:27. | :19:30.
determined to fly the Scottish flag as part of Team GB. But he still | :19:30. | :19:40.
:19:40. | :19:41. | ||
has a few hoops to go through before making it to London 2012. | :19:41. | :19:46.
This is a small town in the heart of Catalonia. But we don't have to | :19:46. | :19:51.
look too far to find a little slice of Scotland. Or rather, a big lump | :19:51. | :20:00.
of Scotland. Stirling's Keiran Achara is 17 stone. He is looking | :20:00. | :20:05.
to make it even bigger at the London Olympics. It is one of those | :20:05. | :20:10.
experiences you want to be a part of. Being in the squad, you feel, I | :20:10. | :20:13.
am so close, but at the same time it could end any time but hopefully | :20:13. | :20:18.
I'll need it. Having spent the last decade in America and Italy, home | :20:18. | :20:24.
is never far from his mind. I am very proud of red came from and | :20:24. | :20:29.
where I grew up. It has moulded me into the man I am today. My first | :20:29. | :20:34.
experience playing for the Scottish national team in Ireland when I was | :20:34. | :20:37.
16 years old, it was the proudest moment for me as a basketball | :20:37. | :20:42.
player. Hopefully I will make it and I want to flag -- fly the flag | :20:43. | :20:52.
for Scotland, to represent Scotland within the Team GB squad. You can | :20:52. | :20:56.
see that report in full plus a look back at Edinburgh's Heineken Cup | :20:56. | :20:58.
semi-final against Ulster rugby on Sport Nation tomorrow night at | :20:58. | :21:08.
:21:08. | :21:09. | ||
7:00pm on BBC2 Scotland. That is all the sport this evening. | :21:09. | :21:19.
:21:19. | :21:23. | ||
We have set my seen a lot of cloud around today and for many of us, | :21:23. | :21:25.
not of that warm but there is some it sunshine around this evening for | :21:25. | :21:35.
:21:35. | :21:48. | ||
some. Even with clearer skies for the West, it will not be a cold | :21:48. | :21:55.
night. We could see some mist and Mark as well and that is generally | :21:55. | :21:59.
higher restart things tomorrow. It will be dry and there will be | :21:59. | :22:04.
brightness here and there but low cloud and mist in eastern parts of | :22:04. | :22:08.
the country and then later on, pushing up from England. | :22:08. | :22:13.
Potentially, some rain as we head through the afternoon. By mid- | :22:13. | :22:18.
afternoon, it will not be too bad temperature Weise. Cribbing up into | :22:18. | :22:25.
the mid- teens. Further north, we could see a highs of 18 and 19 | :22:25. | :22:31.
Celsius. Down the east coast, always prone to that low cloud and | :22:31. | :22:36.
it will be colour as well. Into the evening, the rain tries to make its | :22:36. | :22:39.
way for the North but doesn't get too far. For tomorrow, Wednesday | :22:39. | :22:43.
and Thursday, high pressure is controlling our weather so it will | :22:43. | :22:49.
be drier and settled across the board. In eastern parts of the | :22:49. | :22:54.
country, cloudier with that must at times. Further west, dry and sunny | :22:54. | :23:00.
and warm in the sunshine. A similar story as we head into Thursday with | :23:00. | :23:04.
winds generally light and from the east. Unfortunately it will not | :23:04. | :23:09.
last. As we head into the weekend, we can see at the Warner their | :23:09. | :23:12.
retreating towards the Continent and we get this cooler air from the | :23:12. | :23:17.
north. Before then, this week we have some warm sunshine to look | :23:17. | :23:25.
forward to, particularly in the West. | :23:25. | :23:29.
Police boxes have become synonymous with a certain time-travelling | :23:29. | :23:34.
doctor. Now some are being put up for sale in Edinburgh. They are not | :23:34. | :23:37.
any bigger on the inside than on any bigger on the inside than on | :23:38. | :23:47.
:23:48. | :23:55. | ||
After decades with a role in crime fighting in the capital, 22 police | :23:55. | :24:03.
boxes have been put up for auction. There is no minimum bid but 100 | :24:03. | :24:06.
administration fee. A they are now no longer required for operational | :24:06. | :24:11.
policing. We thought that rather than them deteriorating on the | :24:11. | :24:17.
street, we would make something of them for somebody. Your cash will | :24:17. | :24:21.
buy at two-ton cast and a box but not the land on which it stands and | :24:21. | :24:26.
you will have to read it or get the relevant permission to keep it | :24:26. | :24:29.
there. If you look inside, they don't look like much now but many | :24:29. | :24:34.
of these have been converted before, all it takes is a little | :24:34. | :24:42.
imagination and a fair bit of paper work. His mother first time | :24:42. | :24:46.
Edinburgh police boxes have been sold off. This one operates as an | :24:46. | :24:52.
Indian snack bar despite the size restrictions. I know what I am | :24:52. | :24:56.
keeping where so when the customer comes during the peak Garras, I | :24:56. | :25:03.
know where everything is all the time so I have to be careful | :25:03. | :25:13.
because of the limitations of space. What else might they be used for? | :25:13. | :25:18.
colleague has one who has it in his front garden, just as an item to | :25:18. | :25:22.
look at. They are iconic but I don't know why they are selling | :25:22. | :25:32.
them off? What else it might they be used for a potential customers? | :25:32. | :25:37.
If you have the technology and know-how, there is another already | :25:37. | :25:47.
:25:47. | :25:47. | ||
well-established use. A summary of tonight's top stories: Friends of | :25:47. | :25:50.
Dumfries aid worker Khalil Dale who was murdered in Pakistan said they | :25:50. | :25:53.
doubt if the Taliban were responsible. A close friend has | :25:53. | :25:56.
told this programme that Mr Dale spoke regularly to the Taliban in | :25:56. | :26:00.
his job at the Red Cross and thinks gangsters seeking ransom are more | :26:00. | :26:07.
likely to blame. Immigration officers from | :26:07. | :26:10.
Manchester have rushed to Heathrow to help deal with long delays | :26:10. | :26:14.
through immigration. The UK Border Agency blames severe staff | :26:14. | :26:18. |
