Welcome to Reporting Scotland. Tonight on your national news: The

BBC obtains new evidence about what the Rangers administrators knew

about the Ticketus deal and when. Fears that another Super Puma

gearbox problem could have caused the helicopter ditching off

Shetland on Monday. A major police operation in Perth

in the hunt for a convicted sex offender who absconded from a

Lincolnshire prison. Also in the programme: Barcelona

snatched a winner! We reflect on a night of heartbreak

for Celtic as Barcelona take all the points after scoring in injury

time at the Nou Camp. And, we look back at the career of

the Dundee folk singer Michael The BBC has obtained new evidence

which plunges the Rangers administrators into fresh

controversy. A secret recording of a conversation shows that Duff and

Phelps not only knew that former owner Craig Whyte had sold season

tickets to a finance firm to fund the acquisition of the club, but

that they were intent on denying this because they thought they

could get away with it. Our Investigations Correspondent

exclusive report contains flash photography.

It was the deep -- deal that finished at the former Rangers own

nerves in the eyes of the fans. Four years' worth of season tickets

sold off to fund his doomed acquisition. In May, BBC Scotland

Investigates revealed that Duff and Phelps knew all about the deal and

that a serious conflict of interests existed which should have

prevented them from taking the appointment. This was strenuously

denied by them and the company which is set to scoop a 3 million

threatened to sue the BBC. David Grier took to the airways to claim

the BBC had got it wrong. I am not sure what they are accusing us of

apart from the suggestion we had prior knowledge of the two Kit

Malthouse -- Ticketus deal which is not the case. But the BBC has new

evidence which shows that not only did they know about the arrangement

but they were pursuing a rigorous line of denial because they

believed they could not be caught out. Craig Whyte recorded a meeting

to confirm the other voice on the tape is indeed that of David Grier.

acted properly at all times during the administrator of Rangers.

It's thought an offshore helicopter ditched in the sea off Shetland

after the pilots feared there was a problem with the aircraft's gearbox.

The manufacturers say that is one of the causes currently under

investigation. It was a catastrophic gearbox failure which

caused the deaths of 16 men in a Super Puma crash three years ago.

Tonight, dozens of helicopters remain grounded as the industry

awaits developments. Colin Wight is in Aberdeen. Thank you. Tonight, as

far as we know, the ditch helicopter is in a hangar behind us

the day poring over it. It is vital they find out what happened as a

whole industry awaits their findings. Other helicopters of a

men on board when it went down on Monday. All were rescued safely.

Investigators are working as hard as possible to unlock the mystery

of why it landed in the sea. Today, is manufacture revealed it may be a

problem with the gearbox. We have some information about the pilot

gearbox in the cockpit but we have to investigate it in more detail.

The ditching of this 225 in May was caused by a folk -- Fawlty gearbox,

so too was the crash a couple of years ago that killed 16 men. This

afternoon, the industry's helicopter safety committee met in

Aberdeen but there was no update from the Accident Investigation

Bureau. It will concern people, but, at this stage, without knowing what

the bureau has found, we cannot say with any confidence that it is the

same issue. We need to wait for that report. A we are clearly

concerned the workforce has an ongoing confidence issue in the

fleet. But we will work hard to rebuild the confidence and

communicate factually when information becomes available.

Latest official figures show a fall of 11 per cent in the number of

A landscape conservation charity has defended his proposal to kill

up to 100 red deer stags to protect ancient woodlands. The John Muir

Trust says its management of deer has been criticised locally. Rather

sensitive areas of trees but it says that offences are are

singer-songwriter Michael Marra who has died at the age of 60. Be done

about a local house history and holistic experience. We once asked

the public what their views are. What would they like to see young

It is important to use the internet and the media. Currently I am

teaching slavery and we are producing a rap about this.
