Tonight, on Reporting Scotland: Released from prison. Kimberley | :00:16. | :00:21.
Hainey was jailed for murdering her toddler son. Now, Appeal Court | :00:21. | :00:26.
judges have quashed her conviction. She's been cleared of all charges. | :00:26. | :00:36.
:00:36. | :00:36. | ||
Also on the programme: On his bike. 36 years of age, how much longer | :00:36. | :00:41.
will he go on? Surely he will be at the Commonwealth Games in Scotland? | :00:41. | :00:45.
Six Olympic golds, 11 world titles, and a Commonwealth velodrome to his | :00:45. | :00:49.
name. But Sir Chris Hoy won't be cycling again. To try to go on for | :00:49. | :00:53.
another year would be one year too far for me and I didn't want to | :00:53. | :00:57.
turn up just to wave at the crowd, I wanted to win a medal for | :00:57. | :00:59.
Scotland. An investigation is underway in | :00:59. | :01:03.
Aberdeen, after a hospital mortuary van is taken to this garage for | :01:03. | :01:06.
repairs, with a body still inside. Back to the future. Why Prince | :01:06. | :01:10.
Charles is trying to revive the lost skill of horse logging. | :01:10. | :01:14.
And, Andy Murray crashes out of the Monte Carlo Masters in a straight- | :01:14. | :01:21.
Kimberley Hainey, who was convicted of murdering her toddler son and | :01:21. | :01:24.
hiding his body, has been freed from jail, after all convictions | :01:24. | :01:27.
against her were quashed. Miss Hainey was sentenced to a minimum | :01:28. | :01:37.
:01:38. | :01:39. | ||
of 15 years in December 2011. Catriona Renton reports. | :01:39. | :01:43.
Declan Hainey was found in a partially decomposed state in a | :01:43. | :01:48.
pocket in Paisley. His mother had a history of drug addiction. After | :01:48. | :01:53.
Declan was born, Kimberley and the baby lived with her mother, but | :01:53. | :01:58.
five months later in 2000 and it she got a flat of her own. The | :01:59. | :02:04.
grandmother said she continued to see the baby until his first day -- | :02:04. | :02:11.
birthday. Declan was last seen alive in that summer 2009, aged 15 | :02:11. | :02:14.
months. Friends and family asked after him, Kimberly gave the | :02:14. | :02:20.
impression nothing was wrong. Eight months later, his body was found in | :02:20. | :02:29.
the flat which was strewn with rubbish. His body was in such a | :02:29. | :02:33.
state of decomposition it was impossible to say how he died. | :02:33. | :02:38.
Kimberley Hainey maintained she woke up one morning to find her | :02:38. | :02:43.
baby Declan dead in his cot. She said she was in denial and could | :02:43. | :02:47.
not accept he had gone and did not want anyone to take my way. When | :02:47. | :02:51.
the case came to the High Court in Glasgow, the prosecution relied on | :02:51. | :02:57.
scientific evidence Declan was malnourished. In December 2011, | :02:57. | :03:02.
Kimberley Hainey was found guilty of murder, and of hiding the body | :03:02. | :03:07.
of her son. She was sentenced to 15 years. Her neighbours gave their | :03:07. | :03:13.
reaction. If justice has been served. Today, three appeal court | :03:13. | :03:18.
judges gave their reasons for quashing the conviction and | :03:18. | :03:23.
criticising a forensic anthropologist who gave evidence | :03:23. | :03:28.
Declan was possibly malnourished despite the fact they were not | :03:28. | :03:38.
:03:38. | :03:55. | ||
They also criticised the trial judge for allowing evidence from Dr | :03:55. | :04:02.
Cunningham. They said the jury had been misdirected and Kimberley | :04:02. | :04:07.
Henie had suffered a miscarriage of justice. Had he lived, Declan would | :04:07. | :04:11.
be five years old yesterday. Nobody knows how he died. | :04:11. | :04:14.
Our home affairs correspondent Reevel Alderson joins me now. A | :04:14. | :04:18.
very distressing case. What reaction has there been to this | :04:18. | :04:24.
acquittal? There is bound to be a huge amount | :04:24. | :04:29.
of public disquiet about the situation. The mother's conviction | :04:29. | :04:34.
has been quashed but what remains troupe is that Declan, her young | :04:34. | :04:41.
son, is dead, and his body had lain in his cot for eight months, which | :04:41. | :04:47.
means we do not know how he died. Meanwhile, Kimberley Hainey, a | :04:47. | :04:51.
heroin addict, was telling friends and relatives there was nothing | :04:51. | :04:56.
amiss. She has been freed, because the appeal court said there was a | :04:56. | :05:00.
miscarriage of justice involving that scientific and medical | :05:00. | :05:06.
evidence. The prosecution says it will not seek a retrial which means | :05:06. | :05:11.
in the eyes of the law Kimberley Hine has committed no crime. There | :05:11. | :05:16.
must be lessons to be learned? there is an argument lessons have | :05:16. | :05:21.
already been learnt. In the trial, the jury heard the health worker | :05:21. | :05:26.
assigned to look after Declan had more than 300 cases on her books. | :05:26. | :05:32.
As soon as his body was discovered, the council instituted a | :05:32. | :05:36.
significant case review. Before Kimberley Hainey came to trial, | :05:36. | :05:41.
that review had reported making 16 recommendations for changes to | :05:41. | :05:47.
practise for those involved in child protection. They have all | :05:47. | :05:52.
been implemented. The Care Commission has said they had been | :05:52. | :05:56.
turned into a comprehensive and realistic action plan, with | :05:56. | :06:01.
increased resources and appropriate training. The cows of says the | :06:01. | :06:07.
information it gathered will be handed to a further inquiry. The | :06:07. | :06:11.
council has called on the Scottish Government to meet the growing | :06:11. | :06:17.
challenge of the neglect of children in our society. | :06:17. | :06:20.
Scotland's greatest Olympian, Sir Chris Hoy, has confirmed he's | :06:20. | :06:23.
retiring from competitive cycling. It means he won't be racing in the | :06:23. | :06:26.
velodrome which bears his name at next year's Commonwealth Games in | :06:26. | :06:34.
Glasgow. Rob Flett reports. It was a day he said had been | :06:34. | :06:37.
hanging over him but Chris Hoy it is content he has achieved | :06:37. | :06:46.
everything he can in his sporting career. Winning a 6th gold medal in | :06:46. | :06:50.
London and earned him the title of our greatest Olympian. | :06:50. | :06:56.
Chris Hoy gets the gold medal! also took its toll. | :06:56. | :07:00.
He is in tears. I was successful in London but | :07:00. | :07:04.
maybe people do not realise how much that took out of me. So, to | :07:04. | :07:09.
try to go on for another year would be too much, one year too far for | :07:09. | :07:13.
me and I didn't want to turn up just to wave at the crowd, I wanted | :07:13. | :07:17.
to win a medal for Scotland. Because I don't feel I can do that, | :07:18. | :07:24.
I'd rather set -- Stepaside. On an emotional day he was supported by | :07:25. | :07:28.
his wife. It was a decision ultimately he had | :07:28. | :07:34.
to come to at the end of the date and I am delighted to hear him say | :07:34. | :07:39.
it out loud. Retirement will mean more time for his role as an | :07:39. | :07:43.
ambassador for Glasgow's Commonwealth Games. We are very | :07:43. | :07:51.
keen to have further discussions. To be further involved, a fantastic | :07:51. | :08:00.
role to play to inspire. Talk will turn to his legacy, which he says | :08:00. | :08:05.
is helping to deliver an indoor velodrome for Scotland. For his | :08:05. | :08:10.
name to be on that venue is a massive legacy for the next 100 | :08:10. | :08:15.
years of Scottish cyclists that fully competing and winning at | :08:15. | :08:21.
world level. Ultimately we do it for fun, not because it is a job. | :08:21. | :08:26.
He takes up the sport because you love it. I am pleased to say it I | :08:26. | :08:30.
feel that way about it. I hope to try to encourage other people to | :08:30. | :08:36.
get into the sport. There will be no more medals but he will remain a | :08:36. | :08:44.
hugely influential figure in the future of Scottish sport. Thank you. | :08:44. | :08:47.
You're watching Reporting Scotland from the BBC. Still to come on the | :08:47. | :08:51.
programme: The art of noise. How super-sensitive microphones inside | :08:51. | :08:58.
an old dockside crane are giving voice to an old friend. | :08:58. | :09:01.
We'll have more on Chris Hoy's decision to retire. Scottish | :09:01. | :09:07.
sportsmen and women pay tribute to the Olympic cycling legend. | :09:07. | :09:11.
The Celtic manager has been hit with a dugout ban, And, not a good | :09:11. | :09:15.
day for Andy Murray in Monte Carlo, as he crashes out on clay again, | :09:15. | :09:20.
and in under an hour. An investigation has been launched | :09:20. | :09:24.
in Aberdeen, after a mortuary van belonging to NHS Grampian was taken | :09:24. | :09:28.
to a garage for repairs with a body still inside. A member of staff has | :09:28. | :09:38.
:09:38. | :09:43. | ||
been suspended. A porter picked up a van on what | :09:43. | :09:52.
should have been a routine vehicle tail light repair. But unknown to | :09:52. | :09:56.
him and the mechanics, there was still a dead body in the back of | :09:56. | :10:01.
the van. The garage has made no comment. NHS Grampian have | :10:01. | :10:04.
described this as very embarrassing. A member of staff has been | :10:04. | :10:11.
suspended. They are apologising to everybody involved. | :10:11. | :10:16.
The first thing I want to say is how sorry we are, and how sorry I | :10:16. | :10:20.
am on behalf of NHS Grampian, to the family of the deceased, for the | :10:20. | :10:24.
distress this would obviously have caused. We would also want to | :10:24. | :10:28.
apologise to the staff in the garage for this. And, generally, to | :10:28. | :10:37.
say to the public we are taking this incident extremely seriously. | :10:37. | :10:40.
Richard Carey has commissioned an independent inquiry into what went | :10:40. | :10:50.
:10:50. | :10:52. | ||
wrong and he wants that report as soon as possible. The First | :10:52. | :10:55.
Minister, Alex Salmond, has called on the Better Together campaign to | :10:55. | :10:58.
return half a million pounds that it received from the businessman, | :10:58. | :11:02.
Ian Taylor. He heads the oil trading firm, Veetol. Mr Salmond | :11:02. | :11:05.
questioned whether it was the "right type of donation to accept" | :11:05. | :11:07.
because controversy has surrounded some of Veetol's past business | :11:07. | :11:10.
dealings. Better Together said it was a "valid donation", and would | :11:10. | :11:18.
be retained. Here's our political correspondent, Glenn Campbell. | :11:18. | :11:23.
Wealthy individuals are bankrolling the campaigns for and against | :11:23. | :11:29.
independence. These lottery winners gave Yes Scotland 1 million. So | :11:29. | :11:35.
far, this man has given the most to Better Together. Ian Taylor made a | :11:35. | :11:40.
personal donation of 500,000. The chief Executive of the oil trading | :11:40. | :11:45.
firm Veetol. He has previously given cash to the Conservatives. No | :11:45. | :11:49.
one is questioning his right to make political donations but the | :11:49. | :11:53.
SNP is questioning the wisdom of accepting money from someone who | :11:53. | :12:02.
heads a company which has had controversial business dealings. A | :12:02. | :12:06.
Serbian parametric was reported to have received payment from Veetol. | :12:06. | :12:12.
The company says it did nothing illegal. Saddam Hussein rant Iraq | :12:12. | :12:16.
and Veetol has admitted making payments to the national or a | :12:16. | :12:22.
company which led to Veetol being fined by a New York court. The | :12:22. | :12:26.
First Minister says Better Together must take this into account. | :12:26. | :12:30.
campaign should return the money in the same way as the Labour Party | :12:30. | :12:33.
argued that Conservatives should return their money. The Labour | :12:33. | :12:39.
leader did not want to comment but one of her Members did. Do you have | :12:39. | :12:45.
a problem accepting money from Ian Taylor? This was a valid donation. | :12:45. | :12:50.
Nobody is suggesting he should not invest in Harris tweed. It is a | :12:51. | :12:56.
valuable donation. Ian Taylor's investments in Harris tweed were | :12:56. | :13:00.
raised by the Liberal Democrats. it is good enough for Harris Tweed, | :13:00. | :13:06.
it is good enough for Better Together. The Scottish Conservative | :13:06. | :13:09.
leader chose not to say one way or the other. | :13:10. | :13:13.
Labour has outlined draft plans to transfer more power to Holyrood, | :13:13. | :13:16.
including full control of income tax. But, ahead of their conference | :13:16. | :13:19.
in Inverness, party leaders are stressing that the ideas, in a | :13:19. | :13:22.
party commission report, are still at an early stage. They say nothing | :13:22. | :13:25.
would be done to cut Scotland's public spending budget. Our | :13:25. | :13:34.
political editor Brian Taylor has the details. | :13:34. | :13:38.
Polling tells Labour leaders they need a new offer to counter | :13:38. | :13:46.
independence. A commission has been set up. The report says devolving | :13:46. | :13:49.
air passenger duty and vehicle excise duty. They say they are | :13:49. | :13:55.
minded to shift control of all income tax. We are in the business | :13:55. | :14:00.
of making people in Scotland's lives better. If it is too | :14:00. | :14:07.
expensive or there are concerns, then that wouldn't make sense. This | :14:07. | :14:12.
is driven by a desire to improve the people of Scotland. Some Labour | :14:12. | :14:16.
MPs are known to be sceptical. The commission is cautious. They are | :14:16. | :14:23.
against devolving corporation tax. They say it oil revenues are too | :14:23. | :14:28.
volatile to handover. It would keep welfare in UK hands. It is beyond | :14:28. | :14:33.
comprehension a Labour report looking at more powers for Scotland, | :14:33. | :14:36.
at a time when the Tories in Westminster but dismantling the | :14:36. | :14:40.
welfare state, would recommend power over welfare stays in | :14:40. | :14:46.
Westminster. That is beyond belief. For Scottish Labour, this is part | :14:46. | :14:51.
of a continuing process, not an end product in itself. Some within the | :14:51. | :14:55.
party say, instead of devolving income tax entirely, Labour might | :14:55. | :15:03.
give Holyrood the power to vary the gap. As Scotland prepares for that | :15:03. | :15:13.
:15:13. | :15:25. | ||
referendum next year, the pro-union Scotland this Thursday. A man has | :15:25. | :15:28.
appeared at the High Court in Glasgow, charged with murdering the | :15:28. | :15:31.
42-year-old Thai woman Khanokporn Satjawat in the toilets of the Clyde | :15:31. | :15:33.
Auditorium last November. Clive Carter from Motherwell made no plea | :15:33. | :15:36.
- and the case was continued. The Government has published legislation | :15:36. | :15:39.
to increase pre-school childcare. The Children and Young People Bill | :15:39. | :15:42.
will entitle three and four year olds to 600 hours of free care, up | :15:42. | :15:45.
from 475 hours. Labour and the Liberal Democrats say it's | :15:45. | :15:48.
unambitious and will leave Scotland behind the rest of the UK in | :15:48. | :15:49.
provision for two-year-olds. Scotland's first charity-funded air | :15:49. | :15:52.
ambulance has been unveiled. The helicopter will be based at Perth | :15:52. | :15:55.
and will begin operating next month, alongside the country's two other | :15:55. | :16:05.
:16:05. | :16:08. | ||
publicly-funded air ambulance helicopters. Having one based on | :16:08. | :16:15.
this side of Scotland mean more people will have support. A new | :16:15. | :16:17.
traffic control centre has officially opened in South | :16:17. | :16:19.
Queensferry. It will be used to co-ordinate major travel incidents | :16:19. | :16:21.
and help motorists during severe weather. | :16:21. | :16:23.
A new political party has been launched with the express intention | :16:23. | :16:26.
of rallying voters opposed to wind farms. The Alliance Party of | :16:26. | :16:29.
Scotland was formed by activists, who claim the country's landscapes | :16:29. | :16:31.
are being destroyed and thousands of people forced into fuel poverty, | :16:31. | :16:37.
because of wind power. An osprey thought to be the oldest | :16:37. | :16:42.
breeding bird of her kind in the UK has laid her 65th egg.. "Lady" | :16:42. | :16:45.
returned to a nest at the Loch of the Lowes reserve near Dunkeld three | :16:45. | :16:49.
weeks ago. And there are more stories from your | :16:49. | :16:52.
area - and all the latest news, 24 hours a day on BBC Scotland's | :16:52. | :16:59.
website. They were once a common sight in our | :16:59. | :17:03.
fields and forests, but their work has long been mechanised. Now Prince | :17:03. | :17:07.
Charles is campaigning for the horse to be returned to our woodlands. He | :17:07. | :17:10.
says "horse logging" is a much less damaging way of taking timber from | :17:10. | :17:20.
:17:20. | :17:24. | ||
the forest. Kevin Keane reports. They are high on horsepower and low | :17:24. | :17:29.
on fuel but they definitely need regular care and here on the | :17:29. | :17:35.
Balmoral estate, these horses are used to remove trees for timber, | :17:35. | :17:40.
something the Duke of Rothesay is trying to bring back. There are many | :17:40. | :17:44.
benefits and one is the impact it can have on the ground, sensitive | :17:44. | :17:52.
ground conditions or high-value forests. The past and get in there | :17:52. | :17:58.
when no one else can and leave almost no footprint. | :17:58. | :18:02.
His Royal Highness met with experienced horse loggers near his | :18:02. | :18:07.
home. It is one of his passions that deforestation should be done with | :18:07. | :18:14.
minimal impact. The Duke of Rothesay has invited representatives from | :18:14. | :18:17.
neighbouring estates here to Balmoral to convince them of the | :18:17. | :18:26.
merits of this practice is patron of the British horse loggers. It is | :18:26. | :18:30.
highly skilled work but the environmental impact as low but the | :18:30. | :18:40.
:18:40. | :18:40. | ||
relation between the logger and the horse has to be strong. It takes | :18:40. | :18:50.
:18:50. | :18:51. | ||
many years to become a competent horseman. Apprenticeships are now | :18:51. | :18:56.
being run to tie to revive this dying skill and the long-term hope | :18:57. | :19:01.
is that more horses will replace machines in Scotland's forests. | :19:01. | :19:05.
Here's Jane now with more on a great sportsman. He's an inspiration, he's | :19:05. | :19:08.
a humble guy and he'll go down as the one of the greatest sportsmen in | :19:08. | :19:14.
Britain. Just some of the glowing tributes paid to Chris Hoy today. As | :19:14. | :19:16.
we've been hearing, the six-time Olympic Gold medallist has retired | :19:16. | :19:19.
from cycling and according to his sporting peers he'll be sorely | :19:19. | :19:29.
:19:29. | :19:31. | ||
missed. Not much this man has not won in the | :19:31. | :19:36.
world of track cycling with six Olympic gold medals, 11 world and to | :19:36. | :19:46.
:19:46. | :19:50. | ||
Commonwealth titles. -- two. Whatever he goes on to do he will be | :19:50. | :19:56.
brilliant at. He is just one of these guys that will be successful | :19:56. | :20:04.
at whatever redial -- whatever he does and we wish him the best. | :20:04. | :20:07.
medal tally makes for an impressive reading with seven Olympic medals, | :20:07. | :20:11.
six of which are gold including the at the one games, the Beijing | :20:11. | :20:20.
Olympics. He has won 25 world championships including 11 gold | :20:20. | :20:26.
medals and six bronze medals. Competing for Scotland he has won to | :20:26. | :20:36.
:20:36. | :20:52. | ||
Commonwealth titles and two bronze Watching him race at the Olympics | :20:52. | :20:58.
was very inspiring for me. I think it is a great loss but at the end of | :20:58. | :21:02.
the day, if the driver is a great loss but at the end of the day, if | :21:02. | :21:10.
the drivers not not winning any more. He has the biggest pair of | :21:10. | :21:15.
quads you'll ever see but will go down as of the greatest sportsman in | :21:15. | :21:21.
Scotland has ever had. An absolutely fantastic career for the young man | :21:21. | :21:31.
from Scotland. A lovely young person. He is very modest and very | :21:31. | :21:41.
:21:41. | :21:42. | ||
diplomatic and he's just Chris. Andy Murray will drop back down to | :21:42. | :21:45.
world number three after his third round exit from the Monte Carlo | :21:45. | :21:55.
:21:55. | :21:55. | ||
Masters. Murray was well beaten by Stanislas Wawrinka losing 6-1, 6-2. | :21:55. | :21:59.
And he says he'll now have to head straight to the practice courts. | :21:59. | :22:04.
David McDaid reports from Monaco. Stanislas Wawrinka may be seeded 13 | :22:04. | :22:13.
but it was the number two who was cursing his luck. He has played | :22:13. | :22:20.
seven fails on clay to his own zeal and early on he showed why he is the | :22:20. | :22:26.
rise on the slippery red courts. The Scots found himself a double break | :22:26. | :22:29.
down and with Stanislas Wawrinka coping well with Andy Murray's | :22:29. | :22:37.
serve, he claimed the first set with ease. He continued to take the game | :22:37. | :22:43.
to Andy Murray with power and aggression. Today, Andy Murray | :22:43. | :22:47.
errors outweighed Andy Murray wonders. It was a different story | :22:47. | :22:52.
for the Swiss and in under an hour, he had taken the scalp of the world | :22:52. | :22:58.
number two. Sometimes it happens and sometimes you are not quite feeling | :22:58. | :23:03.
the ball. It was disappointing and no one wants to lose matches like | :23:03. | :23:13.
:23:13. | :23:18. | ||
that. Hopefully I can use it as motivation to improve Andy Murray's | :23:18. | :23:26.
first time on clay this year comes to an early end. He will have the | :23:26. | :23:30.
chance to reclaim the number two spot next month but until then, it | :23:30. | :23:34.
is back to the practice courts. Neil Lennon will be banned from the | :23:34. | :23:37.
dug out for the next three games for using offensive language during his | :23:38. | :23:40.
side's match against St Mirren last month. The SFA's compliance officer | :23:40. | :23:43.
advised no additional punishment but a three match suspended sentence | :23:43. | :23:48.
kicks from when Lennon confronted a referee last season. He has five | :23:48. | :23:57.
days to appeal. It's already one of Glasgow's most | :23:57. | :24:02.
famous sights. Here it is behind us as usual - the great Finnieston | :24:02. | :24:07.
Crane. But now a new artwork is celebrating its sound. American | :24:07. | :24:09.
artist Bill Fontana has placed a super-sensitive microphone inside | :24:09. | :24:13.
the crane - and for the next two weeks art lovers in Glasgow and | :24:13. | :24:15.
around the world can listen in. Our arts correspondent Pauline McLean | :24:15. | :24:25.
reports. It has been a fixture on the clay | :24:25. | :24:35.
:24:35. | :24:40. | ||
since the 1960s. A silent giant on the Glasgow skyline until now. This | :24:40. | :24:43.
is the sounds from inside the Finnieston Crane recorded on an | :24:43. | :24:49.
ultrasensitive microphone. It is being beamed live by satellite to | :24:49. | :24:59.
:24:59. | :25:04. | ||
the Gallery of modern Art. It will pick up any sounds. Industrial | :25:04. | :25:10.
structures are important to build Fontana's work. He created this | :25:10. | :25:18.
piece for the anniversary of the golden gate bridge. When Glasgow | :25:18. | :25:22.
approached him for the new work, the Finnieston Crane was the obvious | :25:22. | :25:29.
inspiration. It combines an amazing structure that everyone knows and | :25:29. | :25:34.
loves what an amazing sense of Glasgow's industrial past and also | :25:34. | :25:41.
the sheer size and the drama of the structure. He loves the story behind | :25:41. | :25:48.
the event as well as the sheer amazing sound that is created. | :25:48. | :25:58.
:25:58. | :26:00. | ||
work can be seen and heard in person and online and tell me that. It is a | :26:00. | :26:04.
real percussion magnet because each cured these thousands of raindrops. | :26:04. | :26:14.
:26:14. | :26:16. | ||
It is very interesting. Wind, rather than rain, is what the crane will | :26:16. | :26:19.
have been dealing with today. It's been pretty blowy across the | :26:19. | :26:26.
country. These were the scenes at Portobello on the Rover Forth this | :26:26. | :26:30.
afternoon. In Edinburgh, at Blackford Hill, gusts of almost 60 | :26:30. | :26:32.
miles an hour were recorded, while Inverbervie in Aberdeenshire and | :26:32. | :26:40.
Leuchars in Fife had gusts of more than 50 miles an hour. So, Judith, | :26:41. | :26:50.
:26:51. | :26:57. | ||
bet over rent -- wind and rain on the way. This weather fronts will | :26:57. | :27:01.
eventually pull away and then we have an ADR of high-pressure moving | :27:01. | :27:11.
:27:11. | :27:14. | ||
in nicely. The ceiling will be fairly breezy with outbreaks of rain | :27:14. | :27:18.
which will continue to move southwards and we should see most of | :27:18. | :27:23.
the country that I went clear spells developing and the winds will | :27:23. | :27:30.
eventually eased down by the end of the night. A touch of Frost and some | :27:31. | :27:33.
sheltered spot sort of Frost and some sheltered spots will tomorrow | :27:33. | :27:37.
starts off dry and called with spells of sunshine and it will not | :27:37. | :27:47.
:27:47. | :27:49. | ||
take long until it starts to heat up a little. For southern Scotland, it | :27:49. | :27:57.
will stay dry with some clothes and temperatures towards the south-east | :27:57. | :28:02.
around 12 Celsius but the further north we called it will be. | :28:02. | :28:07.
Potentially the odd late show towards the Outer Hebrides. On the | :28:07. | :28:11.
north coast we could see the odd late shower and still some mist | :28:11. | :28:18.
coming through. Any quote that has built up will disburse with some | :28:18. | :28:24.
fine sunshine to end the day. Overnight, clouds thickening up and | :28:24. | :28:29.
the odd spot of rain. Saturday does start off largely dry and breaks | :28:29. | :28:36.
with some good spells of sunshine through the course of the day. It | :28:36. | :28:41.
will mostly be at the Friday but the wind and rain across north-western | :28:41. | :28:46.
areas will move in on Saturday night leaving it cloudy and wet and | :28:46. | :28:54.
eventually cleaving to the east are main news in brief. At least 15 | :28:54. | :28:58.
people have been killed and almost 200 injured in a Texas town after a | :28:58. | :29:01.
massive explosion at a fertiliser plant. It flattened buildings in the | :29:01. | :29:04.
town of West and survivors have said the blast was like a tornado. | :29:04. | :29:07.
President Obama has attended a memorial service for the victims of | :29:07. | :29:09.
Monday's Boston marathon bombing. His visit comes as investigators try | :29:09. | :29:12.
to identify a possible suspect seen on CCTV footage. Kimberley Hainey, | :29:12. | :29:15.
who was convicted of murdering her toddler son, Declan, and hiding his | :29:15. | :29:18.
body, has been freed from jail, after all convictions against her | :29:18. | :29:20. |
