weekend. That's all from us. Now the news | :00:00. | :00:00.
where you are. Tonight on Reporting Scotland: | :00:00. | :00:23.
Guilty. Security guard Clive Carter is jailed for life for the murder of | :00:24. | :00:28.
a delegate at a Glasgow conference. This was a particularly brutal, evil | :00:29. | :00:32.
and senseless attack on an innocent woman. Also tonight, blood on | :00:33. | :00:38.
mattresses and contaminated incubated and cots. The dirty | :00:39. | :00:42.
conditions found at one of the country's maternity hospitals. High | :00:43. | :00:46.
security as four men and a woman appear in court on terrorism and | :00:47. | :00:54.
conspiracy to murder charges. G -- G4S has made a bid to work at the | :00:55. | :00:58.
Commonwealth Games. And we speak to the Highland landowner about his | :00:59. | :01:01.
long-held and controversial plans to bring bears and wolves to his | :01:02. | :01:06.
estate. A man who bludgeoned a conference | :01:07. | :01:09.
delegate to death with a fire at dinner show has been found guilty of | :01:10. | :01:12.
murder and jailed for at least 20 years. -- a conference delegate. | :01:13. | :01:27.
Khanokporn Satjawat was a product manager based in Thailand for a | :01:28. | :01:30.
global drugs company. In November, she travelled to Glasgow for an | :01:31. | :01:35.
international conference on HIV. Two days later, she was dead. She was | :01:36. | :01:39.
battered to death by this man, security guard Clive Carter, a man | :01:40. | :01:45.
paid to ensure she was safe. This was a particularly brutal, evil and | :01:46. | :01:48.
senseless attack on an innocent woman. Just after lunchtime, on the | :01:49. | :01:56.
12th of November, she left the auditorium to go to the toilet. | :01:57. | :02:00.
Security guard Clive Carter was standing just outside the | :02:01. | :02:03.
auditorium. He asked to see her pass and he was quite officious about it. | :02:04. | :02:08.
A colleague of Khanokporn Satjawat told the police that after the first | :02:09. | :02:12.
day of the conference, Khanokporn Satjawat had complained to her that | :02:13. | :02:16.
she was having her pass checked continually by the same security | :02:17. | :02:19.
guard. So, stopped again, perhaps she accused him of picking on her. | :02:20. | :02:24.
His response was to arm himself with a fire extinguisher, follow her into | :02:25. | :02:30.
the toilet and hit her again and again, and again. He left her lying | :02:31. | :02:36.
on the floor in a pool of blood. The message I would give to the family | :02:37. | :02:42.
is that this was an unusual murder. An extremely rare murder. It has | :02:43. | :02:48.
never happened in my 29 years of the police service. I hope, following | :02:49. | :02:52.
the verdict, they can take some degree of comfort from the sentence. | :02:53. | :02:57.
Eight days before the murder, Carter was working at this hotel. He forced | :02:58. | :03:01.
his way into the room of a woman that was on her own. He was carrying | :03:02. | :03:07.
a fire extinguisher. The judge wondered today what would have | :03:08. | :03:10.
happened if the woman had not had the presence of mind to get out of | :03:11. | :03:13.
the room before the situation escalated. Carter was employed by | :03:14. | :03:19.
G4S. The company said today, we would like to pass on our deepest | :03:20. | :03:24.
condolences to the family of Khanokporn Satjawat. This was a | :03:25. | :03:26.
brutal and unprovoked attack and the sentenced today reflects the | :03:27. | :03:32.
severity of the crime. Khanokporn Satjawat was just six and a half | :03:33. | :03:42.
stone. Today, the judge told Clive Carter it would be up to the parole | :03:43. | :03:45.
board to decide when, if ever, he was released. | :03:46. | :03:52.
Blood on mattresses and bed rails and contaminated incubators and | :03:53. | :03:56.
cots. Cleanliness inspectors were so concerned about what they found at | :03:57. | :03:59.
Aberdeen Maternity, they went straight to the Scottish Government. | :04:00. | :04:04.
Tonight, the chief executive of NHS Grampian said unit was too old. | :04:05. | :04:10.
It should be the happiest day of any parent's life. But for those giving | :04:11. | :04:15.
birth in Aberdeen, they have been surrounded by pockets of filth, | :04:16. | :04:20.
contaminated incubators and cots man blood staining, bodily fluid and | :04:21. | :04:25.
dust, all identified by inspectors at the city's maternity Hospital. | :04:26. | :04:29.
The hospital chief executive told me they had already made changes to | :04:30. | :04:33.
working practices. At the age of the unit makes it a challenge. Why does | :04:34. | :04:39.
the age reflect cleanliness? Cleanliness is clearly the issue. | :04:40. | :04:42.
But the environment is also quite challenging to keep clean because of | :04:43. | :04:45.
its age and because it is no longer fit for purpose. I don't want to | :04:46. | :04:49.
make that too much of an excuse. In reality, irrespective of the state | :04:50. | :04:53.
of the fabric of the building, we should still be in a position where | :04:54. | :04:59.
we can keep the facility clean. New mother Rebecca Tawse is taking her | :05:00. | :05:02.
first child home. Her daughter was born on Monday, weighing eight | :05:03. | :05:09.
pounds. She is so far without a name. But Rebecca is less critical | :05:10. | :05:12.
than the inspectors. They came around if you needed your bed | :05:13. | :05:17.
changed, there was bed linen and everything underneath for the | :05:18. | :05:22.
babies. You could change it yourself if she had got dirty in the middle | :05:23. | :05:28.
of the night. I was quite happy. NHS Grampian would not let us inside the | :05:29. | :05:31.
hospital today to film the maternity unit or to see the current | :05:32. | :05:36.
condition. But they insist that procedures had been tightened up and | :05:37. | :05:39.
anyone admitted today will find that it is clean. Among the worst things | :05:40. | :05:46.
found were contamination to incubators and cots used by | :05:47. | :05:50.
patients, but staining on the underside of mattresses and body | :05:51. | :05:53.
fluids or the walls of the intensive care unit. There is absolutely no | :05:54. | :05:58.
excuse for the shortcomings identified by this report | :05:59. | :06:02.
whatsoever. No excuse whatsoever. I will be holding NHS Grampian to | :06:03. | :06:07.
account to make sure this does not happen again and they do implement | :06:08. | :06:15.
the recommendations. A new life and chapter for Rebecca. NHS Grampian | :06:16. | :06:18.
says it will look at replacing the maternity hospital completely. | :06:19. | :06:25.
Four men and a woman have appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court charged | :06:26. | :06:29.
with terrorism offences and conspiracy to murder. The five, | :06:30. | :06:33.
Martin Hughes, Edward McVey, Anton Duffy, Paul Sands and Stacy | :06:34. | :06:38.
McAllister, all from Scotland, were detained during police raids across | :06:39. | :06:44.
the country last week. On their way to court, four men and | :06:45. | :06:49.
a woman held here at high security police station for the past six | :06:50. | :06:52.
days. They were arrested in an operation apprised by police in | :06:53. | :07:00.
Scotland. A small demonstration was mounted outside the court. Police in | :07:01. | :07:04.
earlier said the operation had been focused on dissident Republicans, | :07:05. | :07:10.
who were not affiliated to any specific group. Part of the | :07:11. | :07:12.
indictment against the five alleges they attempted to try firearms and | :07:13. | :07:22.
explosives, with a blue for... View to the commission of terrorist | :07:23. | :07:24.
offences included damage to property, the murder of civilians | :07:25. | :07:28.
and a terrorist campaign. It is alleged that the conspiracy took | :07:29. | :07:32.
place on the south side of Glasgow. All five accused, aged between 26 | :07:33. | :07:37.
and 39, have addresses in Scotland. All five appeared separately, in | :07:38. | :07:43.
private, and made no plea or declaration. They were remanded in | :07:44. | :07:46.
custody to appear before a sheriff next Wednesday. | :07:47. | :07:54.
You are watching Reporting Scotland. Still to come: A wealthy | :07:55. | :07:58.
environmentalist plans to push ahead with the introduction of bears and | :07:59. | :08:02.
wolves to his Highland estate. In sport, as they prepare for the | :08:03. | :08:06.
autumn internationals, we are with the Scotland rugby squad. But one of | :08:07. | :08:12.
their most important players is not. And super, smashing, great. If you | :08:13. | :08:16.
love Old site, you might like this. And it is not even about darts. -- | :08:17. | :08:22.
Bullseye. Jack Straw has called for a party | :08:23. | :08:27.
inquiry into allegations of vote rigging within Labour's Falkirk | :08:28. | :08:31.
constituency to be reopened. Meanwhile, the party's Scottish | :08:32. | :08:36.
leader declined to comment when asked about accusations of | :08:37. | :08:42.
wrongdoing against Stephen Deans, the union leader at the centre of | :08:43. | :08:48.
the Grangemouth dispute. The fires of Grangemouth are still | :08:49. | :08:53.
burning. But the dispute has sparked a political row that shows no sign | :08:54. | :08:57.
of going out. Workers breathed a sigh of relief on Friday when they | :08:58. | :09:00.
learned the plant would stay open. Today, the man responsible for the | :09:01. | :09:06.
Scottish economy had strong words for union and management. There are | :09:07. | :09:13.
many matters that are deeply unsatisfactory between the union and | :09:14. | :09:18.
company at Grangemouth. Labour's finance spokesman plays the workers | :09:19. | :09:22.
that had foreseen the reopening of the plant. We have to understand the | :09:23. | :09:27.
painful sacrifices that have been made. The Tories turned their fire | :09:28. | :09:32.
on the Unite union and Labour comrades. We can't forget it was the | :09:33. | :09:38.
irresponsible actions of Unite that put the plant at risk. Nobody in the | :09:39. | :09:44.
Scottish Labour Party dared criticise their union paymasters. We | :09:45. | :09:49.
asked John Lamont to comment, but she was unavailable. Labour have | :09:50. | :09:52.
tried to put a brave face on allegations that the union leader at | :09:53. | :09:57.
the centre of the dispute tried to rig the contest to choose the next | :09:58. | :10:00.
Labour candidate in Falkirk. They say that is not a question for them, | :10:01. | :10:04.
but the party leadership in London. Stephen Deans resigned from his | :10:05. | :10:07.
Grangemouth job after the owners, INEOS, accused him of campaigning | :10:08. | :10:12.
while at work. He kept his Labour role as chairman of Falkirk West, | :10:13. | :10:15.
after a party inquiry was abandoned. A former Labour Cabinet minister | :10:16. | :10:21.
added his voice to those calling for it to be reopened. I would certainly | :10:22. | :10:26.
consider reopening the investigation. The inquiry was faced | :10:27. | :10:29.
with an investigation where there was clear evidence, by at least two | :10:30. | :10:34.
people, of concerns about what was going on inside Falkirk. That key | :10:35. | :10:39.
evidence was later withdrawn. Unite insist they have done nothing wrong, | :10:40. | :10:42.
with labour due to get on with choosing a new candidate next week. | :10:43. | :10:45.
The row about their involvement continues. | :10:46. | :10:51.
The chairman of an influential House of Commons committee has told BBC | :10:52. | :10:56.
Scotland he is astonished that the security form G4S may have some | :10:57. | :10:58.
involvement in the Commonwealth Games in vans go. The security | :10:59. | :11:02.
company was criticised for failing to provide enough staff for the | :11:03. | :11:06.
London Olympics. But the BBC has learned they have made a bid to work | :11:07. | :11:13.
at Glasgow 2014. London 2012. The army came to the | :11:14. | :11:20.
rescue after security firm G4S failed to provide enough staff at | :11:21. | :11:24.
the Olympics. The security company were heavily criticised. And we have | :11:25. | :11:28.
learned they could be involved in the Commonwealth Games next summer. | :11:29. | :11:34.
G4S already provide security here at Hamden and also at the SEC see. It | :11:35. | :11:40.
is understood those other venues that they will be interested in | :11:41. | :11:46.
providing security for four Glasgow 2014. Athletics will be a huge draw | :11:47. | :11:50.
here, with tickets already sold out during the seven days of action. | :11:51. | :11:54.
Sports taking place within the SECC precinct will also be popular with | :11:55. | :11:59.
the likes of gymnastics, boxing, judo and netball all taking place | :12:00. | :12:05.
within the vicinity. Within the last 30 minutes, G4S have confirmed they | :12:06. | :12:09.
want to be involved in the games's security. One senior MP believes it | :12:10. | :12:16.
would be up mistake. I will be writing to the chairman of the | :12:17. | :12:18.
procurement committee and sending him a copy of the report. If they | :12:19. | :12:22.
decide that things have changed so much that they should give G4S the | :12:23. | :12:26.
contract, that would be up to them. But we need to warn them so that it | :12:27. | :12:29.
is very clear what went wrong. At the end of the day, governments in | :12:30. | :12:34.
Scotland and the rest of the UK should make sure that there is a | :12:35. | :12:37.
high risk register. Those that let the people down and should not be | :12:38. | :12:41.
given the chance to let people down again. The Glasgow 2014 budget for | :12:42. | :12:47.
security increased substantially after London 2012. It went up to ?90 | :12:48. | :12:57.
million. Police Scotland have taken on responsibility for the security, | :12:58. | :13:00.
and the plan is for contracts to be shared by a number of firms, rather | :13:01. | :13:04.
than just one supplier. In a statement tonight, they said: | :13:05. | :13:15.
Tonight, Glasgow 2014 say companies will be considered on their merits | :13:16. | :13:23.
and stress no appointments have been made. | :13:24. | :13:25.
We're approaching the 25th anniversary of the Lockerbie bombing | :13:26. | :13:29.
and the loss of 270. On his first full visit to Scotland, the new US | :13:30. | :13:32.
Ambassador has said there remains real anger in America that the man | :13:33. | :13:35.
convicted of the atrocity, Abdelbaset al-Megrahi, was released | :13:36. | :13:40.
from a Scottish prison. But he insisted the bonds of friendship | :13:41. | :13:42.
between the countries far transcended that controversy. He met | :13:43. | :13:51.
our political editor Brian Taylor. New to the job he may be, but he | :13:52. | :13:58.
knows the old wounds of Lockerbie still staying in his homeland, | :13:59. | :14:02.
especially the release of the soul conflict, al-Megrahi. I would | :14:03. | :14:09.
characterise the feelings and that the surge in which you are well | :14:10. | :14:12.
aware of as a mixture of surprise, shock and anger. Very understandable | :14:13. | :14:21.
anger that justice in the eyes of those victims was not served. Four | :14:22. | :14:29.
years ago, they cheered his return. The US ambassador says changing | :14:30. | :14:34.
circumstances provide the ability to trace others linked with the | :14:35. | :14:41.
atrocity. He says Americans also remember the kindness shown by the | :14:42. | :14:46.
people of Lockerbie. He insists the ball and far transcends this | :14:47. | :14:54.
controversy. We have roughly 400,000 American visitors coming to | :14:55. | :15:01.
Scotland. 4000 US students studying here and over 1000 businesses doing | :15:02. | :15:06.
business in Scotland. That has an incredible foundation. Do you detect | :15:07. | :15:12.
longer-term damage to relations Scotland and the US? The depth and | :15:13. | :15:20.
strength of this relationship can get us through this. He stresses | :15:21. | :15:30.
next year's referendum is entirely a matter for Scotland and the UK to | :15:31. | :15:32.
decide. And you can see that full interview | :15:33. | :15:37.
on the BBC Scotland News Site. Other stories from across Scotland | :15:38. | :15:41.
this Tuesday. Almost two thirds of the people | :15:42. | :15:45.
whose organs were donated in the past five years were not on the | :15:46. | :15:49.
donor register. A new campaign is urging people to tell their families | :15:50. | :15:51.
about their wishes. Motorcyclist Matt Polanski's organs saved the | :15:52. | :15:55.
lives of four people after he died in a racing accident two months ago. | :15:56. | :16:06.
I knew that he was on the organ donation less than we had discussed | :16:07. | :16:11.
it, so I knew he wanted to discuss his organs so the decision had | :16:12. | :16:15.
already been made. It was a wish I honoured. | :16:16. | :16:17.
Plans for an 11 wind turbine testing centre in Aberdeen Bay have received | :16:18. | :16:20.
a major set back. Councillors have refused permission for an | :16:21. | :16:23.
electricity substation for them. The developers say they're considering | :16:24. | :16:25.
their options. American businessman Donald Trump, whose golf resort is | :16:26. | :16:30.
nearby, was a critic of the scheme. A major traffic shake up is to be | :16:31. | :16:34.
piloted in Edinburgh city centre. George street is to have a one way | :16:35. | :16:38.
traffic system and a dedicated two way bike lane. On-street car parking | :16:39. | :16:41.
is being reviewed and the frequency of buses on Princes street will be | :16:42. | :16:46.
reduced. A health board is encouraging | :16:47. | :16:50.
parents to stop smoking at home or restrict it to one room. NHS Tayside | :16:51. | :16:53.
and some firefighters launched the scheme at an Arbroath primary | :16:54. | :16:57.
school. It advocates a smoke-free house which is says is healthier and | :16:58. | :17:06.
safer. We are hopeful across Tayside with | :17:07. | :17:11.
the work we are doing with our partners, the fire service and | :17:12. | :17:15.
schools, the work will get across to parents. And you can get the latest | :17:16. | :17:20.
news round up as well as analysis on BBC Scotland's website. | :17:21. | :17:29.
If you go into the Highlands one day you could be in for a big surprise! | :17:30. | :17:32.
A wealthy environmentalist has pledged to push ahead with plans to | :17:33. | :17:36.
introduce bears and wolves to his Highland estate, despite a largely | :17:37. | :17:38.
critical response to his latest proposals. It's now ten years since | :17:39. | :17:42.
Paul Lister came up with the idea of creating a wilderness reserve. He's | :17:43. | :17:45.
been talking to our environment correspondent, David Miller. | :17:46. | :17:56.
It is beautiful and remote. The estate covers 23,000 acres, but this | :17:57. | :18:03.
is not a traditional Highland sporting estate. Instead of focusing | :18:04. | :18:10.
on red deer and Gross, the top is of beers and wolves. -- grouse. These | :18:11. | :18:20.
are the biggest beasts on the estate today but the owner still harbours | :18:21. | :18:24.
ambitions to release the kind of large predators which would have | :18:25. | :18:30.
been found here centuries ago. We did a feasibility study on the big | :18:31. | :18:37.
vision. To have nearly that is fenced and to bring back the beers | :18:38. | :18:42.
and wolves and two CV socio economic impact that would have and the | :18:43. | :18:47.
environmental impact. The presence of large predators really changes | :18:48. | :18:52.
the landscape. He will need more land of that dream is to become a | :18:53. | :18:56.
reality and may have to rely on the help of other landowners. They will | :18:57. | :19:03.
not be easily convinced. These large carnivores may be big enough to get | :19:04. | :19:08.
through a fence and if that were to happen it would provide | :19:09. | :19:17.
difficulties. We'll is where introduced to Yellowstone National | :19:18. | :19:23.
Park in the US in the 1990s. The move was controversial but today | :19:24. | :19:27.
they are thriving and wildlife experts say we should have nothing | :19:28. | :19:33.
to fear. Many of us go on holiday to Italy and France and Spain and they | :19:34. | :19:39.
have wolves and links and beers, and you do not feel threatened. -- lynx. | :19:40. | :19:47.
They may never again roam these hells but a debate about this is | :19:48. | :19:55.
underway. We turn our attentions to sport now | :19:56. | :19:58.
- over to Rhona. Scotland's rugby squad are having | :19:59. | :20:01.
their first get-together before the autumn internationals, but one of | :20:02. | :20:03.
their star performers is missing. Winger Tim Visser could also miss | :20:04. | :20:07.
the six nations in a few months with a broken leg. One team mate | :20:08. | :20:10.
describes his absence as a huge blow. | :20:11. | :20:17.
Kheredine Idessane reports. With the next generation close by, | :20:18. | :20:23.
Scotland's current rugby stars were being put through their places but a | :20:24. | :20:29.
key player is missing. Wenger Tim Visser will not play for Scotland | :20:30. | :20:34.
until next year and made will lose some or all of the six Nations | :20:35. | :20:41.
campaign. It is a big disappointment for her man for Edinburgh as a team. | :20:42. | :20:52.
We need these kind of players. Tim Visser Mrs matches next month as | :20:53. | :20:55.
Scotland take on Japan, South Africa and Australia, and it is a family | :20:56. | :21:01.
affair for one player with little brother in the international fold. I | :21:02. | :21:07.
am very grateful to be a part of this. Here's very good player. He | :21:08. | :21:19.
has been playing phenomenally well. There is an extra incentive for | :21:20. | :21:22.
these players to do well over the coming days and even though he does | :21:23. | :21:27.
not take over until next summer, the new head coach will be here to | :21:28. | :21:32.
observe his future charges. Let's take a bounce around some more | :21:33. | :21:35.
stories in the world of Scottish sport. | :21:36. | :21:39.
Anthony Stokes has signed a new three year contract with Celtic. The | :21:40. | :21:42.
striker's current deal was due to expire in the summer. | :21:43. | :21:46.
After their 4-0 thrashing of St Mirren in the premiership, tonight | :21:47. | :21:49.
Dundee United are away to Inverness in the League Cup quarter finals, | :21:50. | :21:56.
but what do their hosts expect? It is a game that should be a cracking | :21:57. | :22:06.
football match. They had a very emphatic win the weekend. | :22:07. | :22:09.
They've spent plenty of time in the gym. Tonight, Scotland's Rugby | :22:10. | :22:12.
League players start their World cup finals campaign. Their match against | :22:13. | :22:15.
Tonga in Cumbria a sell out. Obviously, we need to perform on the | :22:16. | :22:21.
field for the Scotland fans to get behind us. | :22:22. | :22:23.
Scottish athlete of the year Eilidh Child will run for GB against some | :22:24. | :22:27.
of the world's best in Glasgow in January. And she's already thinking | :22:28. | :22:30.
about the Commonwealth Games in the city later in 2014. People always | :22:31. | :22:37.
have expectations but you just keep grounded and have your own goals and | :22:38. | :22:42.
focus. All I can do is train hard and if that is enough to win, that | :22:43. | :22:44.
is great. And there are more sports stories | :22:45. | :22:48.
plus all the latest news, 24 hours a day on BBC Sport Scotland's website. | :22:49. | :22:52.
Tomorrow night's live League Cup quarter final game on the BBC is the | :22:53. | :22:59.
Edinburgh Derby at Easter Road. Hibs against Hearts, rivalry on the | :23:00. | :23:02.
terraces, on the pitch and in the dugout, and as Brian McLauchlin has | :23:03. | :23:04.
been finding out, also on the oche. It is a bull's-eye! It may not be | :23:05. | :23:22.
the most conventional way of preparing for the crucial Edinburgh | :23:23. | :23:28.
derby but this pair are no strangers having played together for Hearts as | :23:29. | :23:38.
youngsters. We had four years together and went our separate ways | :23:39. | :23:47.
but now facing other. I had quite a good youth team at that time. Both | :23:48. | :23:55.
players have played key roles for the respective clubs in the league | :23:56. | :24:01.
cup this year. McDonald was the Hearts hero with vital stops in a | :24:02. | :24:10.
penalty shoot out. Some of the games where they bit unfortunate but cup | :24:11. | :24:14.
games are greatly different. It is a massive game for us having lost the | :24:15. | :24:20.
Derby earlier in the season. This weekend, some of the best darts | :24:21. | :24:24.
players arrive in Edinburgh to take part in the Masters. | :24:25. | :24:29.
And there's live coverage of tonight's League Cup match between | :24:30. | :24:32.
Inverness and Dundee United on Radio Scotland 810 medium wave on digital | :24:33. | :24:42.
and online. No darts though. Let's get an indication of what the | :24:43. | :24:44.
weather has in store? Plenty of us saw some sunshine today | :24:45. | :24:53.
but they were a number of showers around and showers tonight will fade | :24:54. | :25:00.
away and it will be HLA night. Most showers confined towards the West | :25:01. | :25:04.
and North and for most of the mainland at his dry wit clear spells | :25:05. | :25:11.
developing and light winds. Towns and cities, it will be down to | :25:12. | :25:15.
around four Celsius, my older than the West, but in the countryside it | :25:16. | :25:24.
will be called still. -- colder still. Overnight, the high-pressure | :25:25. | :25:33.
keeps things settled and in the Atlantic, this weather front is set | :25:34. | :25:38.
to come our way. HLA start to Wednesday but the clouds beckons and | :25:39. | :25:42.
the rain arrives, and it will be accompanied by strong southerly | :25:43. | :25:49.
winds. A wet afternoon installer and pretty miserable. -- in store. We | :25:50. | :25:56.
could well see some travel disruption tomorrow but the rain | :25:57. | :26:05.
clears and it will still be heavily across central and eastern parts. | :26:06. | :26:09.
Shetland will be dry until early evening. In behind the rain, showers | :26:10. | :26:18.
and they continue to stay with us until Thursday. Bands of showers and | :26:19. | :26:29.
brighter skies in between them. Low pressure is setting up towards | :26:30. | :26:32.
Iceland than continuing to stay with us and to Friday. Fewer showers | :26:33. | :26:37.
around than the winds will be light but still fairly autumnal. | :26:38. | :26:43.
Temperatures close to average for the time of year but tonight it will | :26:44. | :26:46.
be called. The security guard who beat a female | :26:47. | :26:56.
confidence delegate to death has been found guilty of murder. Clive | :26:57. | :27:02.
Carter said he had no memory of using a fire extinguisher in the | :27:03. | :27:06.
attack. Senior executives from Britain's big | :27:07. | :27:10.
energy firms have been defending pricing policies. | :27:11. | :27:16.
A health watchdog has severely criticised conditions at Aberdeen | :27:17. | :27:20.
maternity. They found blood on mattresses and bedding reels and | :27:21. | :27:26.
contaminated incubators. There is confirmation of a cash | :27:27. | :27:31.
settlement to the former head of child services in a London borough. | :27:32. | :27:42.
Don't forget, the news is on our online service, but from everyone, | :27:43. | :27:44.
have a good evening. | :27:45. | :27:47. |
