Good Afternoon. Tens of thousands of shoppers are hitting Scotland's High

Streets for the traditional Boxing Day sales. Some stores opened their

doors at six this morning, as people headed out in search of a bargain.

Aileen Clarke reports. Absolutely fantastic. The first person arrived

before 3am. The queues were masses. -- massive. You were up early this

morning? Yes I was. Mainly to get close for the baby. How have you

done so far? Very well. I am pleased with my bargains. You cannot beat

it, half price. I am doing OK. In Aberdeen, shoppers were out in

force. You would have needed sharp elbows. In Edinburgh, long queues

here until the sale opened. No shortage of those spending money on

Princes Street either. The seal is really good. If you prefer your

shopping online, you perhaps started shopping yesterday. There seems no

shortage of people in Scotland who like the fool sales experience, the

queueing, the rummaging and the going home with lots of bikes. The

family of a Scottish man, detained in an Indian jail since October, say

they're delighted that he's being granted bail. Billy Irving from

Connel in Argyll, was amongst thirty-five crew on board the

"Seaman Guard Ohio" who were held on suspicion of unauthorised possession

of firearms and illegal procurement of diesel. Mr Irving had been

working on anti-piracy security. A woman in her eighties died in a

Christmas night house fire in the East End of Glasgow. Emergency

services were called to the property in the Springboig area just after

half past eight last night. 83-year-old Mary McConnell was found

inside the house and pronounced dead at the scene. An enquiry into the

cause of the blaze is continuing. The National Museum of Scotland

should be open again tomorrow ,after a strike closed the attraction to

visitors today. Members of the PCS Union formed a picket line outside

the Edinburgh museum, as part of a dispute over payments for staff

working at weekends. Rugby and Glasgow ended a run of disappointing

results, taking victory 20-16 in the Derby against rivals Edinburgh at

Murrayfield. Glasgow were behind for most of the first leg of the 1872

Cup, but the game was decided when Stuart Hogg won the race to touch

down after a chip ahead by DTH Van der Merve. And the results in the

Scottish Premiership. Aberdeen zero - one Motherwell. Hearts zero - four

Kilmarnock. Partick Thistle 0-0 Inverness. Ross County zero - two

Hibernian. St Johnstone zero - one Celtic. St Mirren four - one Dundee

United. Now let's get the Boxing Day weather. Judith Ralston is at the

map for us tonight. We are looking at wet and windy

conditions tonight. It is all down to this area of low pressure. We

will see strong winds, but not the strength we saw on Christmas eve. It

is a dry start to the evening, but we have a warning for rain and that

comes into force around midnight. The rain will keep coming during the

overnight period and tomorrow. It will be dry initially, clear spells,

a touch of frost in the east. It will be heavy in places, falling as

snow on high ground. There is also a yellow warning for weddings, severe

gales towards the Hebrides and exposed parts of the East Coast --

winds. A cloudy start, tomorrow, it will be drier in more northern

parts, a bit of brightness in northern areas. That rain will keep

moving in. Strong to gale force southwestern winds, touching gale

force times in exposed parts of the East Coast. Saturday will be a
