from BBC News. It is goodbye from me.

:00:00.:00:00.

Tonight, on Reporting Scotland: After several fatal crashes, a major

:00:00.:00:07.

crackdown on helicopter safety in the North Sea. Among 32

:00:08.:00:12.

recommendations are bans on flying in poor sea conditions, and limits

:00:13.:00:15.

on the number and size of passengers.

:00:16.:00:22.

Britain has won the bronze medal! Scotland's female curlers clinch

:00:23.:00:25.

Olympic bronze in dramatic style in Sochi, with tears of joy to follow.

:00:26.:00:37.

I am so happy. These girls have put in so much work and it is good to

:00:38.:00:42.

know everyone wants it as much as each other. We all push each other.

:00:43.:00:45.

We'll have the story from Russia, as well as reaction here in Scotland.

:00:46.:00:50.

Also on the programme: Thank you. Scotland, stay with us.

:00:51.:00:54.

Bowie backs the union, with a supermodel's help, but can

:00:55.:00:56.

celebrities really influence the independence referendum?

:00:57.:01:00.

Uncertainty round the corner for Rangers as the troubled club seeks a

:01:01.:01:06.

loan of up to ?1.5 million. And re-enacting the 14th century

:01:07.:01:09.

using 21st century graphics - a new experience for visitors to

:01:10.:01:10.

Bannockburn. A major overhaul of helicopter

:01:11.:01:31.

safety in the North Sea has been recommended by the Civil Aviation

:01:32.:01:34.

Authority. It follows a series a fatal crashes - the latest being the

:01:35.:01:38.

accident off Shetland last year in which four people died. Among the

:01:39.:01:46.

recommendations are: A ban on flights when sea conditions are at

:01:47.:01:49.

their most severe. Helicopters will only be allowed to fly if passengers

:01:50.:01:52.

are seated next to an emergency exit. And there'll be a limit on the

:01:53.:01:56.

physical size of anyone travelling offshore. Our reporter Kevin Keane

:01:57.:01:59.

has been assessing the impact of the recommendations.

:02:00.:02:09.

It was when this helicopter crashed into the sea off Shetland in August

:02:10.:02:16.

last year that the pressure intensified to urgently improve

:02:17.:02:20.

safety. Four were killed in the accident and it was the fifth

:02:21.:02:23.

ditching in the North Sea in as many years. James Nugent is one who

:02:24.:02:28.

survived the crash and he thinks safety improvements are long

:02:29.:02:33.

overdue. They are old helicopters that are

:02:34.:02:37.

being maintained to do the job they need to do. We need to bring in an

:02:38.:02:45.

expiry date on these helicopters. They were manufactured in the 60s

:02:46.:02:50.

and 70s. Some of the changes will have a big

:02:51.:02:55.

effect on the helicopter industry. Passengers who are too big to fit

:02:56.:02:59.

through escape windows will not be allowed on and all workers will have

:03:00.:03:04.

to sit next to annex it. Each helicopter is laid out slightly

:03:05.:03:09.

different team. This one has seating for 19 passengers. In this case,

:03:10.:03:14.

clearly only these seats and these are next to emergency exits so all

:03:15.:03:20.

of the central ones would have to remain unoccupied. The industry's

:03:21.:03:25.

regulator which has published the report told me reducing the number

:03:26.:03:31.

of passengers will affect flights. There will be some impact, in the

:03:32.:03:36.

order of up to 20% on some flights but we are not sure of the overall

:03:37.:03:42.

impact yet. However, given that safety is the overall priority we

:03:43.:03:46.

believe this should be and will be managed by the operators themselves.

:03:47.:03:51.

Tighter rules on weather conditions means more flights will be cancelled

:03:52.:03:57.

when the sea is at its worst and better emergency breathing equipment

:03:58.:04:00.

will become mandatory for all passengers. Unions say it is vital

:04:01.:04:05.

that the CAA now delivers on the recommendations.

:04:06.:04:11.

As time passes, different priorities arise and our pressure is to keep

:04:12.:04:14.

the pressure on to make sure they do what they say in the report.

:04:15.:04:20.

The worst of the recent helicopter crashes in 2009 resulted in the

:04:21.:04:25.

deaths of all 16 on board. The solicitor for many families left

:04:26.:04:30.

behind says today's report will not silence their calls for a full

:04:31.:04:31.

public enquiry. Scotland's women curlers have won

:04:32.:04:39.

bronze at the Winter Olympics in Sochi. All the pressure was on the

:04:40.:04:42.

skip, Eve Muirhead from Perthshire, to deliver an inch-perfect final

:04:43.:04:45.

stone in the tenth end against Switzerland. And she kept her cool

:04:46.:04:48.

to lead Team GB to its coveted Olympic medal. From Sochi David

:04:49.:04:57.

McDaid reports. One last match, one last shot, one

:04:58.:05:03.

last chance for Eve Muirhead to win an Olympic medal. They go in the

:05:04.:05:12.

air, the brushes, and Britain has won a medal.

:05:13.:05:18.

I am so proud. What a massive relief to get the

:05:19.:05:23.

Olympic medal round our necks. Today, the tears of joy replaced

:05:24.:05:29.

yesterday 's tears of despair at missing out at the shot on gold.

:05:30.:05:34.

We were devastated yesterday but we put it behind us and we made sure we

:05:35.:05:38.

were not coming home without a medal today. We dug deeper and did really

:05:39.:05:43.

well. There was also satisfaction for the

:05:44.:05:49.

gold who won -- for the coach who herself won gold in 12 years ago.

:05:50.:05:54.

I have lost many in my career and it is not a good position to be in, but

:05:55.:05:58.

I am really proud of the girls. They fought tooth and nail and really

:05:59.:06:03.

deserved that win. Does winning make you feel

:06:04.:06:06.

different? It does. It is what every athlete

:06:07.:06:13.

dreams of and I am super happy. Now, how to celebrate achieving that

:06:14.:06:18.

Olympic dream? Back to social media!

:06:19.:06:25.

So today's bronze success means to doubt -- guaranteed medals for Team

:06:26.:06:33.

GB. Tomorrow the men are back to play against calendar and to see if

:06:34.:06:38.

they get silver or gold. -- against Canada.

:06:39.:06:41.

There was delight at Eve Muirhead's home rink in Perth. Our reporter

:06:42.:06:48.

Julie Peacock is there tonight. Sally, who hasn't been following the

:06:49.:06:53.

fortunes of the British curling team over the past couple of weeks? Today

:06:54.:06:59.

we were rewarded with bronze from the ladies and now the possibility

:07:00.:07:03.

of gold or silver from the men tomorrow. This is where it all

:07:04.:07:08.

starts. Local clubs like this one here in Perth. This is Eve

:07:09.:07:13.

Muirhead's local club and where she has trained for years. It is a

:07:14.:07:18.

hugely popular sport here with lots of people taking part. Even here,

:07:19.:07:23.

they have noticed a real gem in popularity in curling since the

:07:24.:07:28.

start of the Olympic Games. It was all eyes on Sochi at her home

:07:29.:07:32.

rink as she played the final shot to secure bronze for Britain. It was

:07:33.:07:41.

wonderful. So exciting. The -- she's such a nice girl and deserves

:07:42.:07:46.

everything that comes her way. Perth, like Scotland, is in the grip

:07:47.:07:50.

of Olympic fever and taking to the ice is the best cure. This ice rink

:07:51.:07:55.

was full of people wanting to give it a try.

:07:56.:08:00.

We have got some friends who live nearby. It is harder than I thought.

:08:01.:08:09.

When we saw an advert for it, it was a good opportunity to come along.

:08:10.:08:16.

It is hoped today's success will inspire the next generation of

:08:17.:08:18.

curlers. A lot of people have come because of

:08:19.:08:23.

the Olympics. Do you think it will convert to medals?

:08:24.:08:29.

People do get inspired to try new sports in the Olympics. A lot of

:08:30.:08:35.

people will think, I can do that. I have been watching a bit of this

:08:36.:08:39.

curling and it has got me thinking. How hard can it be?

:08:40.:08:49.

It is going in. Oh, right on the button! South Korea here I come!

:08:50.:09:02.

I have to confess to using a body double in that final shot. If you

:09:03.:09:07.

think you can do better, clubs across Scotland are running taster

:09:08.:09:11.

sessions to try and get more people involved in the game and, hopefully,

:09:12.:09:16.

convert some of our infuser you have them into medals in the future. --

:09:17.:09:22.

enthusiasm. You're watching Reporting Scotland

:09:23.:09:25.

from the BBC. Still to come on tonight's programme: In the third of

:09:26.:09:28.

our special reports on unpaid carers, we look at the challenges

:09:29.:09:32.

facing people in rural areas. In sport, fears of the fans that the

:09:33.:09:36.

club could be heading for administration once again. The

:09:37.:09:43.

Rangers club. And, Scotland rugby players have

:09:44.:09:46.

checked in for Rome, determined to avoid their third straight defeat.

:09:47.:09:48.

Pressure mounts for Scott Johnson. We consider their Six Nations

:09:49.:09:50.

chances. Last night, David Bowie became the

:09:51.:09:58.

latest celebrity to add his voice to the referendum debate by calling on

:09:59.:10:02.

Scotland to stay with the UK. But does celebrity endorsement, one way

:10:03.:10:05.

or another, make a difference? Here's our political correspondent,

:10:06.:10:06.

Glenn Campbell. It is pop, not politics. But at last

:10:07.:10:23.

nights bricks, the best male sado -- fellow artist used his speech to

:10:24.:10:28.

urge stocks -- Scots to stick with the UK. What made it unusual, he

:10:29.:10:34.

sent Kate Moss to deliver the message. Scotland, stay with us!

:10:35.:10:41.

If intervention has made him one of the heroes of the pro-union

:10:42.:10:46.

campaign. A perhaps more rebel, rebel for those in favour of

:10:47.:10:52.

independence. However you see it, you could say his short composition

:10:53.:10:56.

on the referendum was intended as a sort of love note to Scottish

:10:57.:11:04.

voters. It comes soon after the Prime Minister appealed to people

:11:05.:11:07.

across the rest of the UK to use their influence in the independence

:11:08.:11:12.

debate. From us to the people of Scotland let the message BBS, we

:11:13.:11:22.

want to stay. The "yes Scotland" campaign launched

:11:23.:11:29.

their own celebrity backing. It is about time we...

:11:30.:11:37.

At last year 's parade in New York another endorsement for the yes

:11:38.:11:42.

side. It will be an interesting new period for Scotland. Why not?

:11:43.:11:49.

More recently, John Barrowman backed the union, but will any of these

:11:50.:11:52.

interventions and influence the vote?

:11:53.:11:59.

I think it is a great tactic for celebrities to get involved because

:12:00.:12:03.

people listen to them, unlike politicians, but I don't think it

:12:04.:12:09.

will influence what people think. Pop stars and celebrities have

:12:10.:12:14.

plenty of opportunity to attract attention but their political clout

:12:15.:12:17.

is less certain. A baby who was seriously burned in a

:12:18.:12:22.

gas explosion in Pakistan is expected to arrive at Glasgow

:12:23.:12:26.

airport for life-saving treatment in the next hour. He lost his father,

:12:27.:12:31.

mother and brother in the accident. He will be taken to Yorkhill

:12:32.:12:36.

Children's Hospital for an assessment. Our reporter is at the

:12:37.:12:40.

airport tonight and you may find some pictures in her report

:12:41.:12:43.

upsetting. In just over half an hour, through

:12:44.:12:47.

this arrivals gate at Glasgow airport will come the little baby

:12:48.:12:51.

after a very long journey from Pakistan. He is only four months old

:12:52.:12:56.

but his barn -- life has been marred by tragedy already. His parents and

:12:57.:13:04.

brother were killed in a gas explosion in Peshawar. It left him

:13:05.:13:08.

with horrific burns to his face and body. His family in Scotland were

:13:09.:13:13.

incredibly worried about infection setting in so they got the ball

:13:14.:13:19.

rolling and got in touch with MPs and MSP's and last week, the

:13:20.:13:25.

Scottish Government said they would stump up the cash for his care here.

:13:26.:13:31.

So, he is about to arrive and when he does, he will be whisked to

:13:32.:13:36.

hospital in Glasgow where he will begin a long process of recovery and

:13:37.:13:42.

years of possible painful surgery to his face. But his family want to say

:13:43.:13:46.

how grateful they are that people here have given him a second chance

:13:47.:13:50.

at life. A look at some other stories from

:13:51.:13:55.

across Scotland this Thursday night: An investigation into why a fishing

:13:56.:14:01.

boat ran aground and sank last summer has concluded the skipper was

:14:02.:14:05.

at fault. A Marine accident investigation Branch report found

:14:06.:14:09.

the skipper had been distracted by his mobile phone while changing

:14:10.:14:15.

course. His radio was so low he failed to hear to warnings from the

:14:16.:14:19.

ports watchkeeper. BBC Scotland understands plans will

:14:20.:14:23.

be revealed tonight for a ?40 million investment in the Borders.

:14:24.:14:28.

It is understood they are for a distillery run by -- by... Based on

:14:29.:14:39.

the outskirts of Edinburgh. Campaigners in the Highlands say

:14:40.:14:42.

children with particular problems like autism could lose out after a

:14:43.:14:47.

local authority voted to cut its budget for additional support. The

:14:48.:14:51.

number of youngsters with additional support needs is rising.

:14:52.:14:59.

Nearly 70 firefighters tackled a serious fire which destroyed and

:15:00.:15:03.

Aberdeen beach-front restaurant. Crews were called shortly before

:15:04.:15:08.

half past four this morning. The flames tore through the roof of the

:15:09.:15:12.

building causing extensive damage and disrupting rush-hour traffic.

:15:13.:15:17.

Dumfries has the highest rejection rate for credit card applications in

:15:18.:15:22.

the whole of the UK according to a new study. The credit card

:15:23.:15:26.

comparison site said two thirds of resident in the postcode area were

:15:27.:15:31.

turned down in the past 12 months. But rejection rates, it says, has --

:15:32.:15:37.

have been increasing everywhere as credit card companies tighten up

:15:38.:15:38.

their criteria. This week, we've been looking at the

:15:39.:15:45.

experience of Scotland's unpaid carers. In our third and final film

:15:46.:15:49.

in the series, we're looking at the challenges facing many of the

:15:50.:15:51.

country's rural carers. Ian Hamilton reports.

:15:52.:15:54.

Living in rural Scotland can be peaceful and it elected. But if you

:15:55.:15:59.

are caring for a loved one, it can be a silly deep and lonely. --

:16:00.:16:09.

idyllic. So getting support from one another at a caring centre like this

:16:10.:16:14.

one, where I have come to meet some carers, is vital. My husband lost

:16:15.:16:21.

both of his legs and he has got renal failure as well. And I was not

:16:22.:16:27.

aware of anything, people that could help me and I felt very isolated. It

:16:28.:16:32.

is this your distances involved that makes life tough just to do the

:16:33.:16:35.

simplest things and get a little help. We have five towns and the

:16:36.:16:41.

majority of all the services people will need of any age are all based

:16:42.:16:45.

around those towns. As is the public transport. Get two or three miles

:16:46.:16:51.

out of these towns and you are starting to meet up with problems.

:16:52.:16:56.

Being a rural carer can be fraught with problems, particularly if you

:16:57.:17:00.

do not drive. People tell me they are what makes them stay is a strong

:17:01.:17:04.

sense of community. The Scottish Government currently have a bill of

:17:05.:17:11.

consultation. It is up to local authorities to provide more support

:17:12.:17:14.

for Scotland's caterers. Local authorities say the bill is not

:17:15.:17:18.

necessary. We think there are quicker ways of delivering

:17:19.:17:20.

improvements, through working together with the NHS. Over the next

:17:21.:17:29.

20 years, it is estimated the number of carers in Scotland will rise from

:17:30.:17:33.

650,000 to 1 million. This means that more than one in five of us

:17:34.:17:39.

will have some form of caring role, a role that few of us are prepared

:17:40.:17:48.

for. Time for the sport. Good evening.

:17:49.:17:53.

A Rangers fans group spokesman has told BBC Scotland that he fears the

:17:54.:17:57.

possibility of the club going into administration again. He was

:17:58.:18:00.

speaking as the Ibrox club has admitted it's asked for a ?1.5

:18:01.:18:03.

million loan from two major shareholders. It's a situation a

:18:04.:18:05.

financial expert says is a ''significant concern.'' Jane Lewis

:18:06.:18:12.

reports. On the pitch, things are going well.

:18:13.:18:20.

A typical header. But for the pitch, does this latest News raise

:18:21.:18:26.

concerns? The Rangers board confirmed to the stock exchange this

:18:27.:18:29.

morning that they are in discussions with two major shareholders with a

:18:30.:18:34.

view to organising a loan. They say they are looking for up to ?1.5

:18:35.:18:37.

million to provide working capital for the club. It is a significant

:18:38.:18:45.

concern, I suspect. They seem to be asking for this money for a

:18:46.:18:48.

short-term needs and to look for such a significant sum of money to

:18:49.:18:52.

meet short-term requirements, I think, as a Rangers supporter I

:18:53.:18:56.

would be asking the board but its long-term planets. BBC Scotland

:18:57.:19:04.

understands the loan discussions involve partners James and Sandy

:19:05.:19:08.

Easdale. The brothers who both hold positions on the board of Rangers.

:19:09.:19:12.

These developments come on the same day that Rangers' Chief Executive

:19:13.:19:15.

Graham Wallace e-mailed supporters encouraging them to engage with the

:19:16.:19:18.

football club at it looks to move forward. Because their input is

:19:19.:19:25.

valuable. Mr Wallace has on many occasions said that, under no

:19:26.:19:28.

circumstances, was Administration and option. Unfortunately, this

:19:29.:19:32.

recent announcement does not do much to alleviate fans' fears that it is

:19:33.:19:38.

a possibility. Rangers may be keen to hear from supporters. Tonight it

:19:39.:19:42.

seems fans want the club's board to do the talking.

:19:43.:19:49.

The Scotland rugby squad say they have erased all thoughts of the

:19:50.:19:52.

wooden spoon in this year's Six Nations campaign. The team have

:19:53.:19:55.

flown out to Rome ahead of Saturday's crucial match against

:19:56.:19:58.

Italy still nursing wounds after a heavy defeat to England in their

:19:59.:20:01.

last match. Brian McLauchlin reports.

:20:02.:20:08.

Checking in for what they hope will be a victory. The Scotland players

:20:09.:20:14.

chasing victory that so far in this season's Six Nations had eluded

:20:15.:20:17.

them. Scotland may have had a dreadful start to this season's Six

:20:18.:20:20.

Nations, losing their opening two fixtures. They have also lost their

:20:21.:20:24.

last three trips to Italy but these players feel that the tide is about

:20:25.:20:30.

to turn. We have got a very positive attitude this week. That is one of

:20:31.:20:33.

the things we set out to do at the start of the week, get about the

:20:34.:20:37.

England game. If everyone was to talk about the England game and

:20:38.:20:40.

focus on what happened, that is their decision but we have got a

:20:41.:20:44.

responsibility to beat Italy. Roll back the clock two years. This

:20:45.:20:50.

defeat to Italy in Rome meant Scotland ended up with the wooden

:20:51.:20:53.

spoon. A scenario not being entertained by this squad. There is

:20:54.:20:58.

plenty more rugby to play in the championship. It is the third game

:20:59.:21:03.

in the Six Nations as a whole so we are certainly looking to put things

:21:04.:21:09.

right on Saturday. Disappointing results mean interim head coach

:21:10.:21:11.

Scott Johnson's position has been questioned. A victory in would go

:21:12.:21:16.

some way to answering his critics. Now, a look at what else is

:21:17.:21:22.

happening across Scottish sport. David Murdoch says he is inspired by

:21:23.:21:26.

Eve Muirhead's rink winning runs that Sochi. Tomorrow he will play

:21:27.:21:34.

Canada with his team. He will muster all of his experience going for

:21:35.:21:39.

gold. Train harder, throw more stones, I have been doing everything

:21:40.:21:44.

from previous campaigns to get experience of the guys of what it is

:21:45.:21:48.

going to be like here. All of the things we have learned about how to

:21:49.:21:51.

win games over the years to try and help them focus.

:21:52.:21:57.

Joe Ledley says he knew his Celtic career was over as soon as the club

:21:58.:22:01.

accepted an offer for him from Crystal Palace. The midfielder moved

:22:02.:22:04.

to the English Premier League on transfer deadline day, despite being

:22:05.:22:09.

offered a new deal at Parkhead. For a couple of years, yes, and when I

:22:10.:22:13.

heard Crystal Palace put an offer in, a Premier League opportunity

:22:14.:22:16.

with a great club and great fans, I thought it was time for me to go.

:22:17.:22:20.

technology. # The Battle of Bannockburn. The

:23:30.:23:35.

first room we come to recreates the eve of the two-day battle with the

:23:36.:23:38.

English and Scottish armies making their preparations for what lay

:23:39.:23:42.

ahead. Very little was found at the sight of the Battle of Bannockburn

:23:43.:23:47.

in terms of artefacts, so historians have been lustily involved to make

:23:48.:23:49.

this as realistic and as historically accurate as possible.

:23:50.:23:56.

What we have done is showcased in 48 hours the Battle of Bannockburn in a

:23:57.:24:00.

highly immersive experience with a lot of historical research into the

:24:01.:24:03.

detail of how the nights and different aspects of the battle took

:24:04.:24:08.

place. This is the final room, the room with the battle laid out on the

:24:09.:24:11.

table in front of the players. On one side, the English army led by

:24:12.:24:16.

Edward the second, on the other side of the Scottish army led by Robert

the Bruce. Will it work out the way it did 700 years ago? Today I was on

:24:21.:24:28.

the side of the English army. That should have been a major tactical

:24:29.:24:33.

disadvantage. Attack! Just attack! 700 years ago,

:24:34.:24:39.

the Battle of banned urn was fought over two days. -- the Battle of

:24:40.:24:45.

Bannockburn. Today it was over in just half an hour. And with an

:24:46.:24:51.

unexpected outcome. That is the Battle of Bannockburn 2014 over, can

:24:52.:24:54.

you believe it, the English army won. But unlike 700 years ago, both

:24:55.:24:58.

of those armies will live to fight another day as this battle is

:24:59.:25:02.

re-enacted and re-enacted once the visitors centre is open.

:25:03.:25:11.

He was so getting into that. Hello. It was a rather wet afternoon

:25:12.:25:17.

through parts of the Central Belt and the South but this evening we

:25:18.:25:21.

revert to breezy with showers. Low pressure sitting towards the north

:25:22.:25:24.

and within the flow of the low, westerly winds continue to feed the

:25:25.:25:29.

showers in. And so showers crossing the country west to east in the next

:25:30.:25:33.

few hours, but by the end of the night it turns dry for many central,

:25:34.:25:37.

southern and eastern parts of the country and temperatures down close

:25:38.:25:40.

to freezing at in towns and cities holding just above. One to rural

:25:41.:25:44.

parts seeing a patch of frost and some icy patches. Tomorrow, Friday,

:25:45.:25:50.

is another day of showers, mostly in the West, a dry start in the East

:25:51.:25:53.

but with that strong wind the showers will be blown right across

:25:54.:25:58.

the country. By mid-afternoon, it is an East Flash West split, the

:25:59.:26:01.

further east you are it will be drier but not entirely dry. --

:26:02.:26:12.

East-West. Wintry over the hills and high ground. Tempered arise, seven

:26:13.:26:17.

or eight Celsius, but it is feeling colder in the wind. A decent day

:26:18.:26:20.

through parts of Aberdeenshire and into Inverness and up towards

:26:21.:26:23.

Caithness, Ark not feeling too bad, Shetland far better than this

:26:24.:26:27.

morning. The rest of the afternoon into the evening, the showers

:26:28.:26:29.

continue to pile their way in from the west. If we take a look ahead

:26:30.:26:33.

towards the weekend, will pressure still nearby towards the North.

:26:34.:26:38.

Another out in the Atlantic but the study weekend on Saturday morning it

:26:39.:26:43.

is not too bad, reasonably dry and bright. One or two light showers

:26:44.:26:46.

around and still breezy. Temperatures seven or eight degrees

:26:47.:26:49.

and by mid-afternoon we start to see that rain uprooting the West Coast

:26:50.:26:53.

and it worked its way in a night, so if you are out on Saturday night,

:26:54.:26:58.

expect to get wet. It will be a wet and windy start for Sunday morning

:26:59.:27:02.

but it should improve as the head through the afternoon, the rain

:27:03.:27:05.

becoming confined to southern parts of the country. The central belt is

:27:06.:27:09.

more showery, still windy but it should be mild, nine or 10 degrees.

:27:10.:27:13.

Saturday is probably better than Sunday.

:27:14.:27:17.

Now, a reminder of tonight's main news. More than twenty people have

:27:18.:27:21.

been killed in one of the bloodiest days in the crisis gripping the

:27:22.:27:24.

Ukrainian capital Kiev. Gun battles broke out between security forces

:27:25.:27:26.

and anti-government protesters, shattering a fragile truce that had

:27:27.:27:28.

been agreed overnight. A major overhaul of helicopter

:27:29.:27:31.

safety in the North Sea has been recommended by the Civil Aviation

:27:32.:27:34.

Authority following a series of fatal crashes. Its recommendations

:27:35.:27:37.

include a ban on flights when sea conditions are at their most severe

:27:38.:27:41.

and a limit on the physical size of anyone travelling offshore.

:27:42.:27:43.

And that's Reporting Scotland. I'll be back with the headlines at eight

:27:44.:27:47.

and the late bulletin just after the ten o'clock news. Until then, from

:27:48.:27:51.

everyone on the team - right across the country - have a very good

:27:52.:27:52.

evening.
