Good evening. A 16-year-old boy is in a serious condition in hospital

after taking ill at a house party in north Lanarkshire last night. A

17-year-old has been released after treatment. Police believe the pair

may have taken ecstasy and "Mortal Kombat" tablets - the drug linked to

the recent death of a schoolgirl from Clydebank.

The teenagers had been at a party. They were taken to hospital after

they became unwell. This afternoon police appealed to anyone who might

have information about the type of drugs being sold last night. People

can come to us in confidence. We will keep every bit of

information in the strictest of confidence and we will protect

people 's identities if need be. The message is we have to make sure

people are safe and we have to take the drug off the street. We have to

identify everybody at a party to make sure they are safe and well.

Last month, 17-year-old rake in died after taking one of the -- Reagan

McCall died after taking one of the red Mortal Kombat tablets.

They are advising anyone who has taken one in the last 24 hours to

take medical help. A 19-year-old has died after falling from a bus near

the centre of Glasgow late last night.

Police say the man fell from the emergency exit and suffered serious

head injuries. The First Minister has demanded an

apology from David Cameron, after it emerged that Scottish ministers were

not told about a radiation leak in a nuclear reactor at Dounreay two

years ago. An MoD source told the BBC that Mr Salmond was

"scaremongering and making mischief". Cameron Buttle reports.

The row centres on the submarine test reactor at Dounreay where there

was a leak two years ago. The leak didn't breach safety limits but the

first minister has written to the prime Minister, demanding an

explanation as to why his government wasn't told about it until last

week. He wants an apology for what he calls a Westminster cover-up.

Westminster has absolutely no right to cut across Scottish democracy and

cast a veil of secrecy over eight legitimate process of democratic

information in Scotland. David Cameron had better come up

with an explanation and an assurance it won't happen again.

Labour has stepped into the row, calling for an enquiry and saying

public confidence has been damaged. The best way to reassure people and

say there is no need for alarm is to make sure you are open and

transparent. It is when you hear about

information that has been passed on and kept in government agencies, I

think that is why people ask about it. The Ministry of defence says

that authorities were made aware of the leak at.

The first Minister has been accused of making mischief. A spokesperson

for the first Minister says the issue is of concern for the people

of Scotland. Thousands of current and former

female staff at a Scottish council are celebrating after winning a

long-running equal pay case. They successfully argued they'd been paid

less than men doing similar jobs. Here's our local government

correspondent, Jamie McIvor. The struggles for quality for women

may seem like they are from another era but reported equality cases and

still come to the fore. These women are just some of the latest group to

win a victory will stop 3000 current and former staff at South

Lanarkshire Council. The jobs that women were doing were not being

valued to the same extent of the jobs mended.

Women were on the same grade but went receiving the same pay. It has

been a conjugated dispute and at its root the overall pay package for

certain jobs once things like bonuses were included.

I just hope that we did work hard and I think we are entitled to the

same wage as the men. We definitely think that the future generation

doing the work will be on equal pay. I say don't be scared and stand up

for yourself because the times have to change. The exact details and

cost of the settlement are being kept confidential.

The council says it was always committed to the principle of

equality of pay. Similar claims at other councils remain outstanding.

There were two quarter final matches in the Scottish Cup. Albion Rovers

took the lead at Ibrox against Rangers. Bilel Mohsni equalised for

the home side - but not until the 77th minute. Dundee are safely

through to the next round after winning 5-0 against Inverness who

across much of the country. Fairly persistent. Drier conditions will

extend southwards. A couple of mist and fog patches with a touch of

Frost and temperatures down to about two Celsius. The wind is on the

light side. The high pressure we have all been heralding eventually

arrives tomorrow, taking in across the country and staying in place for

the first part of the week with a lot of dry and sunny weather. Any
