Good evening. The Scottish Prison Service is

considering an application from drugs mule Melissa Reid to serve her

sentence in Scotland. The 20-year-old from Lenzie was

convicted along with Michaella McCollum from Northern Ireland of

smuggling cocaine into Peru. Kevin Keane reports.

Melissa Reid behind bars in Peru, a place she thought she would remain

until 2020. But today it seems she might be soon brought back back to

Scotland to serve out the rest of her sentence on home soil. Melissa

has written to her father in Lenzie saying prison authorities both there

and here have entered discussions about a prisoner transfer. In the

latter, she says, though I know it has not been accepted, I feel

confident about the process now after having some news so quickly.

She goes on, at least I can speak my language 24/7. And be around people

similar to me. Melissa and her co-accused were

arrested at Lima airport last August, they had been trying to

smuggle ?1.5 million worth of cocaine out of the country. They

admitted the charge and were each jailed for almost seven years. If

Melissa returns, it is likely she will be housed here at Scots and's

largest women's Journal. 25 miles from her home. The Justice Secretary

has already met the family to discuss the case. If the application

is successful, it is thought she could be back in Scotland as early

as August. A 43-year-old man has been arrested

in connection with the death of a woman in Uddingston. The body of

47-year-old Senga Closs, from Elmbank Avenue, was found on

Saturday. The arrested man is expected to appear at Hamilton

Sheriff Court tomorrow. More than 4,000 people have signed

an online petition opposing plans to demolish Glasgow tower blocks as

part of the city's Commonwealth Games. Five of the six remaining Red

Road blocks of flats will be blown up in July as part of the opening

ceremony. Some blocks have already been demolished. Opponents believe

the plans are insensitive to former residents and asylum seekers

currently living in the sixth block. The Scottish Football Association

and the police are looking into claims of racist chanting from

international Leigh Griffiths. It relates to a song about former

Hearts player Rudi Skacel and comes after Griffiths was already cited

for singing about Hearts' financial plight. Griffiths used to play for

Hibs, and is now with Celtic. Police officers have intervened

following what officers described as a minor disturbance before the

Ramsdens Cup final in Edinburgh. They detained 13 fans in the

Grassmarket area shortly before the match between Rangers and Raith

Rovers. Another six people were arrested before kick-off at the

Easter Road stadium and one person was arrested in nearby Albion Road.

The match went into extra time. Jubilant scenes were sparked on the

pitch. Hundreds of students in their

eighties and nineties have been enrolling in Scotland's colleges,

according to the latest figures. While that might a step too far for

some, many older Scots are realising the educational and social benefits

of learning 21st century skills. Kim Karam has been meeting some of them.

Age is no barrier for Elizabeth Young. One year ago, the 97-year-old

bought a tablet to keep in touch with her daughter in Canada.

Elizabeth now uses her computer for a range of functions. When you

Skype, you have to press whoever you want to talk to and then you can

talk. What about getting news? That might be my next project. When she

started school, Lisburn Road on a slate. 90 years later, she is still

challenging herself to learn more. Figures show that over 50 students

are in their 80s and 90s. For those who want to continue learning, but

lack confidence, sessions such as those offered by Edinburgh's have a
