Perth as the Scottish Cup winners celebrated their first major trophy

in 130 years. The Saints defeated their Tayside rivals Dundee United

2-1 yesterday. Andrew Black saw the celebrations. The fans at its early

wealthier than ever before - according to the latest Sunday Times

"Rich List". It says the total fortune of the wealthiest 100

individuals, couples or families have seen their collective fortunes

increase by 19% in a year - to ?25 billion.

More small businesses should think of hiring an apprentice, according

to the First Minister. Alex Salmond's call came at the start of

a special week - designed to celebrate the achievements of

apprentice schemes across Scotland. Here's our education correspondent

Jamie McIvor. This man is a model apprentice. If all goes to plan they

will end up with the qualification and a good chance of the good job. I

always planned to go to university but I wanted only basically. This is

now what I want to do. He was taken on by a major company but the

Scottish Government says small businesses can also take on

apprentices. A lot of small companies are busy doing other

things. We have got to convince all the companies, large and small to

participate. More than 25,000 model apprentices get taken on over you.

The target is 30,000. What might encourage more small farms to sign

up? That is easier about the cost of supporting apprenticeships. That

this were government can't wait additional support. This week we

will see events all for Scotland. To football, and there were

promotion playoffs this afternoon. Cowdenbeath defeated Dunfermline, so

they'll go up to the Chamionship. After the other play-offs, Stirling

Albion have been promoted to League One, and Hamilton will go on to play

Hibernian for a place in next season's Premiership.

The first chick of the season has arrived at the Loch Garten Osprey

Centre in Strathspey. The new arrival was captured on the nest

webcam, as it made its first appearance late last night. It's the

first of three expected to hatch under the watchful eye of veteran

female osprey EJ and her partner Odin in the next few days.
