16 weeks to go, as the official referendum campaign gets underway. | :00:00. | :00:11.
There'll be twists and turns along the way. | :00:12. | :00:13.
We invite a group of undecided voters to put their questions to | :00:14. | :00:16.
An inquiry finds that police here carry out three times more stop | :00:17. | :00:23.
After years of delay and spiralling costs, we join | :00:24. | :00:31.
the Edinburgh trams preparing to take their first paying passengers. | :00:32. | :00:37.
Business as usual for Ireland's assistant manager Roy Keane | :00:38. | :00:40.
as Celtic confirm he's one of many on their shortlist. | :00:41. | :00:43.
And two neighbouring villages compete against each other for | :00:44. | :00:47.
the Scottish Cup, hoping to change the image of junior football. | :00:48. | :00:58.
If it moves, kick it, if it doesn't move, kick it until it does. That's | :00:59. | :01:05.
not true any more, there are some good footballers here. | :01:06. | :01:13.
You might have thought it had begun already, but today marks | :01:14. | :01:17.
the formal start of the independence referendum campaign. | :01:18. | :01:20.
It also means rules on spending limits come into effect. | :01:21. | :01:26.
The two sides, Yes Scotland and Better Together, are allowed to | :01:27. | :01:29.
And rule-breakers face tough penalties. | :01:30. | :01:35.
More from our political editor, Brian Taylor. | :01:36. | :01:41.
The money will be spent on billboards, leaflets and other | :01:42. | :01:47.
campaign techniques. The site agree nothing beats pounding the streets | :01:48. | :01:54.
to persuade voters. -- both sides. Glasgow and with this actor Scotland | :01:55. | :02:01.
say they -- Yes Scotland say they expect good results. We're having | :02:02. | :02:06.
conversations in their own communities. We know that is how we | :02:07. | :02:12.
get people moving towards yes. We will be stepping that up. I think | :02:13. | :02:16.
people will be sure that the yes campaign has been very active. On | :02:17. | :02:22.
the other side of the Clyde, better together tried pavement politics. | :02:23. | :02:26.
The message? Independent isn't worth the risk. | :02:27. | :02:30.
We will be going door by door, street by street. We're getting the | :02:31. | :02:36.
information out, individual voters feel that they are happy to make the | :02:37. | :02:40.
biggest decision that they will make. Apart from the two campaigns, | :02:41. | :02:51.
there are budget combines -- constraints. The SNP and Can | :02:52. | :02:53.
spend... The others combined can spend up to | :02:54. | :03:05.
?1.4 million. Other registered campaigners can spend up to 150,000 | :03:06. | :03:09.
each. Donations above five and a pounds | :03:10. | :03:18.
must come from permissible UK sources. -- ?500. We want the | :03:19. | :03:25.
process to be well run and the debates to be git. We want the vote | :03:26. | :03:29.
on the 18th of September to be a further -- fair process. You will | :03:30. | :03:35.
hear much more from both sides. The limits | :03:36. | :03:37.
and regulations you outlined there, That is down to the Electoral | :03:38. | :03:48.
Commission, they receive and investigate complaints and can | :03:49. | :03:52.
impose penalties in extreme cases if they think someone is likely to bust | :03:53. | :04:00.
their spending limits. They have already had to have a quiet word | :04:01. | :04:03.
with the Liberal Democrats to remind them that they have yet to register | :04:04. | :04:08.
with the Electoral Commission. According to the Lib Dems, the guy | :04:09. | :04:11.
who is due to do it is on his holidays. | :04:12. | :04:18.
We will have a special report later on about undecided voters. | :04:19. | :04:21.
The Police are being asked to clarify why they carry out | :04:22. | :04:24.
so many searches of people on the street, four times | :04:25. | :04:26.
The watchdog, the Scottish Police Authority, also says the force must | :04:27. | :04:31.
ensure the policy is being carried out consistently across Scotland. | :04:32. | :04:34.
Our Home Affairs correspondent, Reevel Alderson, reports. | :04:35. | :04:40.
Police insist their use of stop and search powers is a vital component | :04:41. | :04:47.
of the fight against violent crime. It is the way the policy has been | :04:48. | :04:50.
applied differently across the country which is caused concern. -- | :04:51. | :04:55.
has. Glasgow and Aberdeen has the highest and second highest crime | :04:56. | :04:59.
rates in Scotland. In Glasgow, 3000 stop and searches work carried out | :05:00. | :05:04.
per 10,000, ten times the rate in Aberdeen. There is a different | :05:05. | :05:10.
geographical spread which points to a lack of consistency. We know it | :05:11. | :05:14.
contributes to violence reduction and to a reduction of anti-social | :05:15. | :05:18.
behaviour and are keen to have a spread based on the threat. The | :05:19. | :05:25.
Scottish Police Authority has carried out a review of this | :05:26. | :05:30.
controversial policy. It has called for greater clarity from the police | :05:31. | :05:33.
as to why they are carrying out so many searches. The police's on | :05:34. | :05:37.
figures from last year show that there were more than 640,000 stop | :05:38. | :05:42.
and searches, about four times the rate of England and Wales, but now | :05:43. | :05:48.
on the previous year. 90% of searchers found drugs, alcohol or | :05:49. | :05:56.
weapons. -- 19%. People say to me, just tackle the | :05:57. | :06:01.
drunkenness, the people who are going around with knives and drugs | :06:02. | :06:06.
and pedalling on street corner and the violence and pub closing time. | :06:07. | :06:10.
That is what matters to local communities and that is where stop | :06:11. | :06:16.
and search as one of a whole range of tactics can be deployed. Almost | :06:17. | :06:21.
three quarters of stop searches aren't done under specific laws. The | :06:22. | :06:26.
person searched gives their consent. Critics say that means it is a | :06:27. | :06:30.
dubious legal basis. The person searched gives their consent. | :06:31. | :06:32.
Critics say that means it is a dubious legal basis. PS make people | :06:33. | :06:35.
understand that they can decline to be searched. | :06:36. | :06:41.
You're watching Reporting Scotland from the BBC. | :06:42. | :06:43.
Still to come on tonight's programme: | :06:44. | :06:44.
Two Ayrshire villages will empty this Sunday as | :06:45. | :06:46.
their football teams prepare to face each other in the Junior Cup final. | :06:47. | :06:50.
In sport, the latest on Celtic's search for a new manager from the | :06:51. | :07:01.
club's Chief Executive. And what a sendoff, Glasgow Warriors leave the | :07:02. | :07:04.
Dublin and their first Pro 12 league final. | :07:05. | :07:07.
It's very late, and heavily over budget, but tomorrow morning, | :07:08. | :07:10.
Scotland's capital city will finally have a fully -functioning tram line. | :07:11. | :07:14.
The first paying customers have the chance to board a tram from 5am. | :07:15. | :07:17.
We'll be live in the city's Princes Street shortly, but, | :07:18. | :07:21.
firstly, our transport correspondent, David Miller, | :07:22. | :07:22.
Year after year, street after street, the digging went on and on | :07:23. | :07:46.
as disputes raged and costs soared. By 2011, the money had run out, this | :07:47. | :07:52.
was a project in crisis. Back then, the project was stopped in its | :07:53. | :07:56.
tracks, many feared the launch day would never come. What went wrong | :07:57. | :08:02.
and perhaps more importantly how did bosses managed to avert a | :08:03. | :08:07.
potentially humiliating failure? It's failed to Edinburgh City | :08:08. | :08:12.
Council's new Chief Executive to resolve the bitter and expensive | :08:13. | :08:15.
legal stalemate with the company's -- companies building it. History | :08:16. | :08:21.
has shown that would have been able to make it work. I think it is very | :08:22. | :08:28.
much about turning it into a cooperative way of working, but | :08:29. | :08:33.
appreciating that the contract is had a commercial view of it and we | :08:34. | :08:37.
had a public interest in view of things and bringing them together. | :08:38. | :08:44.
Fast forward to 2014 and the trams are finally ready to carry their | :08:45. | :08:50.
first paying passengers. The council was forced to borrow its way out of | :08:51. | :08:54.
trouble, but we still don't know when or even if the line will reach | :08:55. | :08:59.
relief and the waterfront. Calls for a public inquiry are growing louder. | :09:00. | :09:06.
We spent a lot of money on this and it is worth spending a relatively | :09:07. | :09:11.
small amount of money to find out what happened and how it could be | :09:12. | :09:15.
improved as we will do similar things in other cities, Scotland or | :09:16. | :09:19.
elsewhere, and we should learn from everybody's experience. In the | :09:20. | :09:24.
league, support for completion appears to be strong, but some | :09:25. | :09:32.
appeared to have had enough. It is wrong, they. Digging when they get | :09:33. | :09:36.
to the bottom of the pit, but it seems the council are saying, we | :09:37. | :09:40.
will keep on digging. This project will never make money to recoup its | :09:41. | :09:45.
build costs and it wouldn't make money to replace itself, it is | :09:46. | :09:51.
nothing but a money pit. There is criticism from city Centre | :09:52. | :09:54.
residents who say their health is being threatened by traffic forced | :09:55. | :09:58.
away from the tram route. What we have here is H Gs coming through and | :09:59. | :10:09.
peak times here, the traffic is so heavy that it is stationary for | :10:10. | :10:16.
large times. So it is over to you, get on board | :10:17. | :10:18.
and judge for yourself. Our reporter is in Edinburgh now. | :10:19. | :10:36.
That is the question, how do people there feel now as the trams at last | :10:37. | :10:43.
are getting under way? The problems are well documented, as | :10:44. | :10:47.
David said, but if you speak to people running the project they | :10:48. | :10:50.
would say that attitudes have softened. I think that is a view | :10:51. | :10:55.
that would be challenged in some pubs and taxis, but what is the case | :10:56. | :11:00.
is that people are becoming used to the sight of these trams. They have | :11:01. | :11:05.
been tested since the turn of the year, all part of the build-up to | :11:06. | :11:09.
the big moments tomorrow when as a passenger you can buy a ticket, and | :11:10. | :11:13.
step on board one of the trams and it will take you from the city | :11:14. | :11:17.
centre as far as Edinburgh airport. It is a key moment for the project, | :11:18. | :11:22.
but it is one they say they are ready for. There seems to be a | :11:23. | :11:28.
keenness to be part of Day one, from our staff and from the public. We | :11:29. | :11:33.
want people to come and enjoy the experience. We will be working very | :11:34. | :11:37.
hard to make sure things go as smoothly as possible. All of the | :11:38. | :11:44.
talk about legal action and public enquiries isn't going to go away, | :11:45. | :11:48.
but what is being pushed in the build-up to the launch is to try to | :11:49. | :11:51.
remind people of why the tram project was built in the first | :11:52. | :11:56.
place, the environmental benefits, they would argue, of getting people | :11:57. | :12:00.
out of their cars and onto electric tram. The economic benefits of job | :12:01. | :12:05.
creation and investment. But they know what is key is a smooth start | :12:06. | :12:10.
in the hope that Edinburgh people will come to like and perhaps even | :12:11. | :12:12.
love their tram system. There's been an improvement | :12:13. | :12:15.
in the quality of care for people in their own homes, according to the | :12:16. | :12:19.
body who monitors care standards. But the Care Inspectorate says | :12:20. | :12:22.
the number of services judged to be performing badly has nearly doubled | :12:23. | :12:25.
in three years. It says 80% were found to be of | :12:26. | :12:27.
a good standard, and an increasing But the percentage of services | :12:28. | :12:31.
doing badly has nearly doubled. The independence referendum campaign | :12:32. | :12:42.
is officially under way. Polling suggests anything | :12:43. | :12:45.
between 15% and 35% As part of our new People and Places | :12:46. | :12:47.
series, our referendum correspondent Laura Bicker took young undecided | :12:48. | :12:53.
voters to a theme park in Lanarkshire to see how they're | :12:54. | :12:56.
preparing for, yes, you've guessed ride, you will need to hang on even | :12:57. | :13:16.
when it feels like it might never end. We gave these young voters a | :13:17. | :13:23.
chance to chat to both sides, but up is the yes campaign. Can independent | :13:24. | :13:33.
Scotland afford... Will be better off than the UK at the moment. | :13:34. | :13:43.
Scotland has a falling population, we need people to come and live and | :13:44. | :13:48.
work in Scotland. The White Paper set out a points -based system that | :13:49. | :13:54.
is internationally recognised as a way of doing it. What happens to the | :13:55. | :13:59.
SNP when it is a note, if it is a no, you just keep going? We are | :14:00. | :14:07.
confident that we're getting closer every day to winning the referendum. | :14:08. | :14:14.
And sure people will do all they can to deliver social justice. | :14:15. | :14:20.
If I vote no, can you assure us there will be more powers for | :14:21. | :14:27.
Scotland? All three parties, whether the Tories, the Labour, they'll say | :14:28. | :14:34.
they need you more powers for the Scottish parliament. It is quite | :14:35. | :14:40.
confusing, how can you help us? We do need activity, and we will get | :14:41. | :14:44.
closer by September. Why was the option of Devo Max not considered? I | :14:45. | :14:49.
think that would be a good option for people. Like you said, it is the | :14:50. | :15:01.
best of both worlds and that is what I think staying part of the game | :15:02. | :15:06.
is, still having the Scottish Parliament and being part of the UK. | :15:07. | :15:11.
After they have rattled all of that around in their brains, the verdict. | :15:12. | :15:16.
It is good to get a perspective of people... And might have gone with | :15:17. | :15:25.
Better Together As before, I am not saying that I am leaning the other | :15:26. | :15:28.
way, but I wasn't as impressed with the answers. It is good to hear | :15:29. | :15:35.
positives of what would happen if I voted no. I am not saying I will | :15:36. | :15:40.
vote no, but I'm closer to coming to a decision. So, Scotland, it's time | :15:41. | :15:46.
to buckle up, let's try to enjoy the ride is this country had to decision | :15:47. | :15:48.
time on September 18. Now for a look at other stories | :15:49. | :15:52.
from the across the country. Staff and students at Glasgow School | :15:53. | :15:55.
of Art lined the streets around the blaze-hit Mackintosh Building to | :15:56. | :15:58.
applaud fire crews off the scene. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service | :15:59. | :16:01.
handed the historic building back to the Art School a week after it sent | :16:02. | :16:05.
crews to fight the blaze. Their efforts meant most of the | :16:06. | :16:09.
building and its contents survived. Sure in Orkney police are making | :16:10. | :16:21.
inquiries after the damage was caused that the number of historic | :16:22. | :16:26.
sites. This Italian Second World War Chapel was attacked. Some local | :16:27. | :16:32.
crooks had collection boxes broken into. | :16:33. | :16:35.
Fisheries Minister Richard Lochhead has been questioned on what | :16:36. | :16:37.
the Scottish fishing industry would be like under independence. | :16:38. | :16:40.
He was talking on the opening day of the Skipper Expo event in Aberdeen. | :16:41. | :16:43.
He said Scotland would have greater influence and better representation. | :16:44. | :16:46.
The Better Together campaign says independence would create | :16:47. | :16:48.
Scottish Water has been fined ?12,000 after sewage water | :16:49. | :16:54.
overflowed into a tributary of the River Kelvin, at Kirkintilloch. | :16:55. | :16:59.
Scottish Water pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to allowing | :17:00. | :17:02.
a discharge of sewage into the Purgatory Burn | :17:03. | :17:05.
Scotland's biggest gardening show is under way in Edinburgh. | :17:06. | :17:11.
Tens of thousands of people are expected to visit | :17:12. | :17:18.
Gardening Scotland at the Royal Highland Centre over the weekend. | :17:19. | :17:21.
Exhibits will include a celebration of this year's | :17:22. | :17:24.
Ryder Cup in Perthshire, and the 700th anniversary of | :17:25. | :17:27.
Time for the sport. The big job at Celtic. | :17:28. | :17:40.
Celtic's chief executive says no-one has been offered | :17:41. | :17:42.
the manager's job yet, nor is there a preferred candidate. | :17:43. | :17:46.
Peter Lawwell says the shortlist contains "five to ten" names, one | :17:47. | :17:49.
Is it the countdown to a Celtic return? He is preparing the Republic | :17:50. | :18:04.
of Ireland for their match at the weekend against Italy as assistant | :18:05. | :18:06.
manager but he is considering a move back to the club where he finished | :18:07. | :18:11.
his playing career. He had a short spell at Parkhead in 2006 and has | :18:12. | :18:16.
spoken to Celtic about succeeding Neil Lennon though it seems he is on | :18:17. | :18:20.
quite a long short list. We are going through a process. There are | :18:21. | :18:25.
five to ten candidates at the moment, we are going to do it | :18:26. | :18:30.
properly and take our time. There is time pressure on us but there is no | :18:31. | :18:33.
point in getting it done quickly and getting it wrong. I am sure you will | :18:34. | :18:37.
understand there is a pro sets, it is very difficult for me or Celtic | :18:38. | :18:43.
to say more. -- to say more. Who are the candidates? Former Bolton | :18:44. | :18:49.
manager Owen Coyle is one and Celtic also think highly of Malky Mackay. | :18:50. | :18:56.
The former Manchester United manager David Moyes is also available. The | :18:57. | :19:00.
keys have taken money on the current and the United boss Jackie McNamara | :19:01. | :19:03.
and they have on to respected foreign coaches in Michael Laudrup | :19:04. | :19:10.
and Oscar Garcia. I like Malky Mackay. I hope it is David Moyes. I | :19:11. | :19:17.
don't think Celtic would break the bank to get him. I think someone | :19:18. | :19:23.
further afield from Europe. Roy Keane might be a better solution. If | :19:24. | :19:28.
Roy Keane gets the job, his current job says -- his current boss Martin | :19:29. | :19:33.
O'Neill says he will be disappointed but not surprised to lose him. | :19:34. | :19:35.
Glasgow Warriors are in Dublin where they could become Pro12 League | :19:36. | :19:38.
They play Irish province Leinster in the final. | :19:39. | :19:41.
No Scottish team's ever won the competition, | :19:42. | :19:43.
which also features Welsh, Italian and Irish representatives. | :19:44. | :19:45.
As Phil Goodlad reports, Warriors were given a rousing send off today. | :19:46. | :19:49.
If any of the Glasgow players thought they were in for just | :19:50. | :19:53.
another trip to the airport today, they quickly thought again. A cup | :19:54. | :20:01.
final feeling to check-in. A welcome distraction from the headlines | :20:02. | :20:04.
surrounding the team line-up. Stuart Hogg, once again left out. Most of | :20:05. | :20:14.
the squad played well against Munster. Are you confident he will | :20:15. | :20:19.
be here at Scotstoun next season? Yes. He has a contract. Glasgow next | :20:20. | :20:25.
brawn with beauty decedent to get to their first-ever final, building | :20:26. | :20:30.
something on and off the pitch. The interest around the city is greater | :20:31. | :20:33.
than anything I have been involved in. It is a great feeling. This | :20:34. | :20:37.
would take us a huge step forward but we need to go there and perform | :20:38. | :20:42.
to get the victory. Jamaican rectory, Glasgow had to overcome it. | :20:43. | :20:47.
If ending champions Leinster are one of Europe's best and they are | :20:48. | :20:51.
motivated tomorrow to send Brian O'Driscoll smiling into retirement. | :20:52. | :20:58.
I want to say goodbye and the one they will want to see most is | :20:59. | :21:02.
victory. History beckons for Glasgow Warriors and for Scottish sport. We | :21:03. | :21:09.
have had Andy Murray and Chris Foy with individual success but it is a | :21:10. | :21:14.
whale that a Scottish team -- since a Scottish team in mainstream | :21:15. | :21:18.
competition has come out on top. If they win, expect more than a guard | :21:19. | :21:19.
of honour on their return. Now, a look at what else is | :21:20. | :21:22.
happening across Scottish sport. Defender Emilio Izaguirre has | :21:23. | :21:24.
signed a new three-year contract And so has the club's other | :21:25. | :21:27.
fullback, Mikael Lustig. Two former Hibernian captains | :21:28. | :21:31.
have signed for Dundee. Centre half Kevin McPake will be | :21:32. | :21:33.
playing Premiership football next season, | :21:34. | :21:36.
as will midfielder Kevin Thomson. Former Hibs player Paul Kane's | :21:37. | :21:39.
fronting a supporters' group campaign to oust club chairman | :21:40. | :21:46.
Rod Petrie. It follows their The campaign endorsed | :21:47. | :21:49.
by a celebrity fan. There is a deep-seated problem, a | :21:50. | :22:05.
problem with communication between the fans and the board and the | :22:06. | :22:09.
planes that and a lack of leadership year, a lack of investment. | :22:10. | :22:15.
Stephen Gallacher is still near the top of the leader board | :22:16. | :22:18.
After two rounds, the Bathgate golfer is on five under par. | :22:19. | :22:23.
Jamie Murray and his Australian partner John Peers are | :22:24. | :22:25.
in to the third round of French Open doubles after beating Italians | :22:26. | :22:28.
They play defending champions the Bryan brothers, from the US, next. | :22:29. | :22:33.
Read all about Celtic's search for a new manager - and lots more, | :22:34. | :22:36.
24 hours a day, on the BBC Sport Scotland website. | :22:37. | :22:43.
That is all for now. You will be able to watch the Glasgow Warriors | :22:44. | :22:48.
match tomorrow night on BBC Two Scotland. | :22:49. | :22:49.
Two Ayrshire villages will be virtually empty on Sunday when | :22:50. | :22:52.
their football teams face each other in the Scottish Junior Cup final. | :22:53. | :22:55.
The showpiece competition - for semi-professional teams - | :22:56. | :22:57.
may be a national one, but the final in Kilmarnock involves | :22:58. | :23:00.
neighbours Glenafton Athletic and Hurlford United. | :23:01. | :23:04.
With the best will in the world, New Cumnock is no picture postcard. It | :23:05. | :23:18.
holds an award for Scotland's most dismal place but that is not how it | :23:19. | :23:21.
seems today. The atmosphere is brilliant. The town is buzzing. | :23:22. | :23:28.
Local heroes Hurlford United are in their fifth Scottish Cup final, | :23:29. | :23:31.
their first for 20 years, reason enough to paint the town red. The | :23:32. | :23:36.
community needed a lift and this is it. The place is buzzing. There are | :23:37. | :23:42.
about 20 buses leaving. It is the nominal for a town with two and a | :23:43. | :23:48.
half thousand population. It assures football clubs are to be in pit | :23:49. | :23:51.
communities like this. Enter village rivalry is fierce. There is this | :23:52. | :23:58.
image of junior football as, if it moves, kicked, if it doesn't, kick | :23:59. | :24:01.
it until it does. That is no longer true. Glenafton 's opponents on | :24:02. | :24:08.
Sunday are from just up the road, Hurlford. They look forward to their | :24:09. | :24:13.
first-ever Scottish final. We are going there with our heart bursting | :24:14. | :24:16.
with pride. It is great for the community. Success here has been | :24:17. | :24:22.
achieved by a manager and seven players coached at the start of the | :24:23. | :24:26.
season -- poached at the start of the season from Glenafton. The fans | :24:27. | :24:33.
are not happy about it. Bleeding and taking some of the players. It is | :24:34. | :24:36.
understandable. This is the Scottish amateur cup. It was 12 weeks ago by | :24:37. | :24:42.
another team from Hurlford, Hurlford this all. Can Hurlford United this | :24:43. | :24:51.
weekend make it a unique double for this village? Or will Glenafton take | :24:52. | :24:59.
the spoils back to New Cumnock? How is the weather looking? | :25:00. | :25:07.
Good evening. We saw some beautiful sunshine today I got a good part of | :25:08. | :25:11.
the country. You can see that from the earlier satellite picture. The | :25:12. | :25:14.
cloud is continuing. Some fine evening sunshine on offer tonight | :25:15. | :25:19.
and it will stay dry overnight with some clear spells, although fog | :25:20. | :25:21.
returning to the Northern Isles and some mist and fog patches for inland | :25:22. | :25:27.
parts as well. Overnight, those are 547 Celsius and it is colder towards | :25:28. | :25:31.
the West Highlands. Down to one or two Celsius here. Tomorrow morning | :25:32. | :25:39.
is dry and bright, and we will see some good sunshine coming through as | :25:40. | :25:44.
well. As we head into the afternoon, we hold onto the dry, bright, sunny | :25:45. | :25:47.
weather and across-the-board, the weather is settled. It is pleasantly | :25:48. | :25:52.
warm up to highs of 16 or 17 Celsius across southern Scotland. For the | :25:53. | :25:56.
north, we are holding onto fairly high temperatures. 20 degrees around | :25:57. | :26:02.
Inverness. No reason why we should not see that again tomorrow. It is | :26:03. | :26:12.
cooler in the Northern Isles. If you are thinking of heading hill walking | :26:13. | :26:15.
tomorrow, perfect conditions. Any mist and fog in the morning is very | :26:16. | :26:19.
quickly clearing, we are looking at some lovely sunshine and light winds | :26:20. | :26:22.
at the summit. The visibility. Winds variable indirection. The thing you | :26:23. | :26:27.
should be concerned about is sunburn. That is similar for the | :26:28. | :26:33.
eastern areas, dry conditions, sunny conditions and light winds at the | :26:34. | :26:41.
tops. All very pleasant. Winds will be variable in the Hebrides, be | :26:42. | :26:47.
cutting -- becoming southerly. For the East Coast, again we are looking | :26:48. | :26:52.
at forced three or four southerly winds. But more mist and fog towards | :26:53. | :26:58.
north-eastern coastal areas but good visibility further south. Tomorrow | :26:59. | :27:02.
evening, holding on to the drier weather, lovely evening sunshine for | :27:03. | :27:05.
most of all overnight cloud thickening up towards Outer Hebrides | :27:06. | :27:08.
with some detached pieces of rain pushing in for a time during the | :27:09. | :27:13.
night. The cloud once again returns to the Northern Isles. Sunday starts | :27:14. | :27:18.
off dry, bright, but we will see the highs responsible for that whether | :27:19. | :27:21.
starting to pull away and this weather front introducing a wee bit | :27:22. | :27:25.
of rain. There is some doubt where that rain will land. For most it | :27:26. | :27:29.
will be dry and bright, someone sunshine in the East. Not looking | :27:30. | :27:32.
too bad for most of us. I'll be back with the headlines | :27:33. | :27:35.
at 8 - and the late bulletin just Until then, from everyone | :27:36. | :27:39.
on the team, right across the | :27:40. | :27:45. |
