The Scottish government has called for an inquiry into the activities

of undercover Met Police officers to be extended to Scotland.

There've been allegations political campaigners in Scotland

have been targetted, but the Pitchford Inquiry only

It has been claimed that some London-based police officers spied

on activists ahead of G8 summit at Gleneagles in 2005. But the remit of

the inquiry does not cover operations in Scotland and the

Justice Secretary has asked the Home Office to extend the inquiry north

of the border. Just last month the Metropolitan Police agreed

compensation for seven women who were deceived into having sexual

relationships with undercover officers. But the justice Secretary

said he has concrete evidence that police officers working for Scottish

forces have broken any guidelines. A pedestrian who died

to come out top in the public vote. It would be the second

time he's won the award. It was a vintage year for Andy

the award, including Tyson Fury. But book makers say Andy is the

favourite. He has had a good year in the tour and he is now No 2 in the

world, which is his best ever position. But for us, you know the

main reason is Davis Cup. It is fresh in everybody's mind, only

happened a couple of weeks ago and he was heroic. In Dunblane they seem

to agree. He won the Davis Cup for us. He showed a lot of emotion in

his game. That shows his human side. The passion he puts in the game,

gets the fans and public involved. For me, it is him. People wouldn't

have been so interested in sport if he wasn't such a great ambassador.

Andy Murray shows no sign of slowing down in 2016 and he is due to become

a father, defend his Olympic gold and look for another Grand Slam. But

his next trophy may come sooner than that in Belfast tonight.

A fitness challenge to run every single day in December

is being taken up by thousands around the world.

The Marcothon was started by Glasgow runners Marco and Debbie Consani.

Thanks to social media, this battle against festive-season

Today I'm going to guys. The session is three times

three, two, with unminutes. A pep talk for runners gathered for

training in Glasgow. They're committed to run each day in

December. An idea launched online six years ago. Now 5,000 people are

following the challenge on Facebook. A few people posted, saying running

is new to them, they have taken up A few people posted, saying running

or they want to get out in December. So we have got people who can run 30

minute 10Ks and people who are walking or jogging. Even the rain

isn't deterring the runners who will clock up three miles daily. I run

most days any way. So I have go give up my Friday day off. But it is

better than advent calendar. The discipline to get me out each day.

Even after Christmas dinner? No I would normally run on Christmas

morning. There are no prizes, only the knowledge you're burning off

Christmas calories. Now the weather. I'm sure I saw you at the back of

it. It is looking changeable as we approach Christmas week. Tonight

frequent showers, the main focus north-west of Glasgow and the

north-west Highlands. But they will become fewer and more isolated.

Temperatures lower than of late at six or seven Celsius. They pick up

across the west coast and we see a weather front introducing rain. So

southerly winds picking up with gales along the west coast. That

rain moves smartly across the country with snow over the hills. It

clears quickly, become confined to Shetland. Brighter conditions

feeding in. Highs of nine or ten. Thank you.
