Good evening. The First Minister has announced

that every household, business or charity in Scotland

directly affected by flood water will get a grant of ?1,500.

Nicola Sturgeon outlined the details of new funding during a visit

to Inverurie in Aberdeenshire. Andrew Anderson reports.

This is the damage done by the floods. Today, but the First

Minister Jim to see for herself. She announced ?1500 for every Scottish

household affected by flooding in recent weeks. It is a comprehensive

package designed to help. Nothing we can do can take away the heartbreak

these families have suffered. But we're determined to do everything we

can to help. When the river burst its banks on Thursday, there was no

stopping the floods. Nearly 40 homes were in evacuated here and in nearby

Inverurie. One family was bike today clearing up. A bit emotional. It

could have been a lot worse. We are all right. How long will it be

before things are back to normal? We will have to see what happens with

the council and whatever. We do not know what's happening yet. Many in

the community have lived alongside the river for many years and got

used to it, but that is a profound sense of shock at the damage the

water has caused. This part of Scotland has seen unprecedented

rainfall in recent days. There is a worry that seems like this will

become more common in the years to come.

make Artisan bread, to reduce offending. I have been told I have

the head and talent, which I did not think I had. It is very exciting.

The scheme is aimed at improving the chances of prisoners gaining

employment. They see their risk of reoffending is reduced by 90% after

two years in training. It has given me something to aim for. I have

learnt a lot. Being a dinosaur at my age this is a new thing, but it has

been great. All the bread makers cannot get out in the meantime, the

product the produce will be ending up in shop tables across the city.

It is proving attractive to customers. It fits so well with

everything we want to put too. We passionately believe that people

should be given his second-half chance. The proof in the pudding
