A man has been arrested in connection with the fatal

stabbing of a shopkeeper on the south side of Glasgow.

40-year-old Asad Shah was found seriously injured

outside his newsagency and convenience shop

Police say the death is currently being treated

This is Asad Shah behind the counter of his store last August. A shop

he'd run for many years. Last night, when police were called, just after

9.00pm, they found Mr Shah in the street, not far from his shop, he'd

been stabbed much he was pronounced dead in hospital later. Today, as

friendic steams and police search teams continued their

investigations, local people came to pay their respects. Every morning we

shook hands and said good day, have a nice day. Just a pleasant, lovely

lad. My husband's in hospital now. He told me he was saying prayers for

my husband to get better again. Very good to his customers. I think his

customers loved him as well. A religious man. Always playing. He

would put a note on the window. I will be back in five minutes. When

police arrived last night they found another injured man nearby. The

local MP was one of Mr Sha sha's many customers. He was quite a

character in this area. Known and loved by lots of people. People here

are are very shocked and saddened by what happened. Police have arrested

a 32-year-old man in connection with his death. An investigation is

underway to establish the full circumstances of his death and that

underway to establish the full they are straeting it as religiously

prejudiced. -- treating. Almost a fortnight after the body

of Brian McKandie was found at his home in Aberdeenshire,

police have been questioning drivers They say a "heavy weapon"

was used in what they called Police are trying to trace two men

mosque has offered support for an extremist executed

in Pakistan for murdering the former The murder was carried out

because of the governor's opposition Reformers at the mosque have

condemned the messages Our home affairs correspondent,

Reevel Alderson, reports. Thousands gathered earlier this

month to protest at the execution in Pakistan of extremist Mumtaz Qadri

much he had murdered a Punjabi politician who supported Christians

persecuted under Pakistan's strict blasphemy laws. Many have been

angered by the private messages from the image, Maulana Habib Ur Rehman

ray on social media. We have obtained copies of his messages

about the execution of Mumtaz Qadri. He writes "he's disturbed and

upset." In another he agrees Mumtaz Qadri

was a murderer but added: Ummat, the term for Muslims as a

whole. The governance of this mosque, which

is Scotland's largest, has been the subject of controversy for some

time. It's currently under investigation by Scotland's

charities watchdog. There is a deep rift between the older

traditionalist members here and the younger reformulationers.

Reformulationers at the mosque have been demanding more openness and

diversity. They have criticised the Imam's remarks. This is an Imam

expressing such views what views is he expressing to our children. Why

is it OK to say this about a terrorist in Pakistan, yet by the

same hand to be offering prayers for the victims of terrorist attacks in

Brussels and Ankara. In a statement the imma said:

Reformulationers here say hi his comments show conservatives at the
