Police have confirmed that they are investigating threats

:00:09.:00:10.

against the human rights lawyer Aamer Anwar.

:00:11.:00:12.

Mr Anwar, who lives in Glasgow, said he received death threats

:00:13.:00:15.

after calling for unity within Scotland's Muslim community.

:00:16.:00:20.

Mr Anwar said he was taking the threats

:00:21.:00:25.

Last week, he cheered an event at Hampden Park.

:00:26.:00:36.

This is the first time these different types of Muslims

:00:37.:00:39.

and Christians have shared a platform.

:00:40.:00:40.

Many of you within this community will be wondering

:00:41.:00:43.

how it is possible for those sat on this platform today

:00:44.:00:45.

to be sitting beside each other whilst

:00:46.:00:47.

we have been so divided over the last few days,

:00:48.:00:49.

several weeks, months and even maybe years.

:00:50.:00:51.

This beautiful city of Glasgow has seen enough sectarian strife

:00:52.:00:58.

The event was a call for unity in the wake of the killing

:00:59.:01:13.

of shopkeeper Asad Shah, an Amadea muslim.

:01:14.:01:18.

A man has been charged with his murder, from Bradford.

:01:19.:01:23.

It was also a week that allegations were made

:01:24.:01:25.

that two Scottish Muslim leaders,

:01:26.:01:26.

Sabir Ali, the head of religious events

:01:27.:01:28.

and the leader of the Polwarth Mosque in Edinburgh,

:01:29.:01:31.

had links to the banned group Sipah-e-Sahaba,

:01:32.:01:34.

which targets Shia Muslims and other minority groups.

:01:35.:01:45.

Over the past few weeks, Aamer Anwar says some have tried

:01:46.:01:50.

to whip up hatred against him on social media

:01:51.:01:52.

He also says he has received late-night phone calls.

:01:53.:01:56.

He said he has had threats on his life before but,

:01:57.:01:58.

Police are investigating the threats against him.

:01:59.:02:10.

Opposition politicians are raising questions about a so-called "secret"

:02:11.:02:12.

agreement between the Scottish government and Chinese companies.

:02:13.:02:14.

Meanwhile, the Labour leader has spoken publicly for the first time

:02:15.:02:16.

since making controversial comments about independence.

:02:17.:02:19.

With more on the Holyrood campaign, here's our political correspondent,

:02:20.:02:22.

The SNP leaders due to embark on a trip to the Northern Isles

:02:23.:02:34.

pledging millions more for mental health before casting off.

:02:35.:02:41.

But Nicola Sturgeon's opponents are questioning why an agreement

:02:42.:02:49.

between Scotland and Chinese companies,

:02:50.:02:51.

which could be worth up to ?10 billion,

:02:52.:02:53.

but it seems that MSPs and the Scottish media did not.

:02:54.:02:58.

on the substance of any of this at all.

:02:59.:03:01.

And if there is any proposals in the future

:03:02.:03:04.

to have investment into actual projects,

:03:05.:03:06.

they will be scrutinised in the normal way

:03:07.:03:08.

The Lib Dem Leader was also campaigning

:03:09.:03:13.

for better mental health services

:03:14.:03:14.

while meeting people making a documentary on the issue.

:03:15.:03:17.

But he wants to know if there is anything to hide

:03:18.:03:19.

we'll expect answers from the government,

:03:20.:03:24.

What has been given in return to the Chinese

:03:25.:03:31.

Meanwhile, in Glasgow, the Labour leader was

:03:32.:03:35.

facing the cameras for the first time

:03:36.:03:37.

after she gave a controversial interview.

:03:38.:03:42.

She had said it is not inconceivable that she could support a yes vote

:03:43.:03:45.

as they tried to say they were the only ones against austerity.

:03:46.:03:53.

We are very clear in our manifesto

:03:54.:03:57.

opposing a second referendum on independence.

:03:58.:04:00.

If there ever was to be one, I would vote no

:04:01.:04:02.

for the same reasons as last time but we have move on.

:04:03.:04:06.

An irresistible companion for the Tory leader.

:04:07.:04:09.

She pounced on her political opponents.

:04:10.:04:14.

The Labour Party is descending into a civil war.

:04:15.:04:17.

If people want strong opposition to stand up for Scotland's voice

:04:18.:04:19.

in the UK and hold the SNP to account,

:04:20.:04:22.

the Scottish Conservatives are behind our union.

:04:23.:04:27.

No pause for thought on a busy campaign trail today.

:04:28.:04:33.

In football, Aberdeen played Hamilton in the Premiership.

:04:34.:04:37.

Sportscene has the weekend highlights,

:04:38.:04:39.

so if you don't want to know today's score,

:04:40.:04:41.

with the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow.

:04:42.:04:54.

Good evening. A fair bit of rain and the forecast over the next few days

:04:55.:05:00.

and tonight, we have got a weather front curving across the central

:05:01.:05:04.

swathe of the UK, bringing some thundery downpours to south east

:05:05.:05:07.

England. Rain pushing up through Wales, the Midlands and the design

:05:08.:05:12.

and that Central Scotland. It will be heavy in places, especially in

:05:13.:05:17.

the early hours. A few chilly spots but on the whole, not terribly cold.

:05:18.:05:21.

Tomorrow, cloudy, Misty and marquee at the start, with outbreaks of

:05:22.:05:27.

rain. Heavy at times for eastern Scotland. That rain stretching into

:05:28.:05:31.

eastern parts of Northern Ireland. Also affecting Wales and South West

:05:32.:05:36.

England. For central and eastern England, it is a cloudy but

:05:37.:05:40.

predominantly dry start to the day. Through Monday, for much of England

:05:41.:05:44.

and Wales, it will be a case of sunny spells and scattered, heavy

:05:45.:05:48.

showers. Some of those bringing the risk of a hill and slander. For

:05:49.:05:52.

Northern Ireland Ireland and Scotland, Britain is harder to come

:05:53.:05:55.

by. The best of it for Shetland, the Western Isles and the Southern

:05:56.:06:00.

uplands maybe brightening up in the afternoon, however always with the

:06:01.:06:04.

risk of a few sharp showers. Winds mainly late. Overnight introduced,

:06:05.:06:09.

low pressure still firmly in charge across Scotland. Drier conditions

:06:10.:06:11.

for the rest of the UK and north of the border we will see a steady

:06:12.:06:16.

improvement as we go through Tuesday. Skies gradually brightening

:06:17.:06:19.

from the West. Some cells in sunshine developing. It will be the

:06:20.:06:22.

far north and north-east where men will linger longest.

:06:23.:06:23.

Our next update is at 6.25 tomorrow morning.

:06:24.:06:26.

Until then, from everyone on the weekend team,

:06:27.:06:28.

enjoy what's left of your Sunday night.

:06:29.:06:31.
