Police have confirmed that they are investigating threats

against the human rights lawyer Aamer Anwar.

Mr Anwar, who lives in Glasgow, said he received death threats

after calling for unity within Scotland's Muslim community.

Mr Anwar said he was taking the threats

Last week, he cheered an event at Hampden Park.

This is the first time these different types of Muslims

and Christians have shared a platform.

Many of you within this community will be wondering

how it is possible for those sat on this platform today

to be sitting beside each other whilst

we have been so divided over the last few days,

several weeks, months and even maybe years.

This beautiful city of Glasgow has seen enough sectarian strife

The event was a call for unity in the wake of the killing

of shopkeeper Asad Shah, an Amadea muslim.

A man has been charged with his murder, from Bradford.

It was also a week that allegations were made

that two Scottish Muslim leaders,

Sabir Ali, the head of religious events

and the leader of the Polwarth Mosque in Edinburgh,

had links to the banned group Sipah-e-Sahaba,

which targets Shia Muslims and other minority groups.

Over the past few weeks, Aamer Anwar says some have tried

to whip up hatred against him on social media

He also says he has received late-night phone calls.

He said he has had threats on his life before but,

Police are investigating the threats against him.

Opposition politicians are raising questions about a so-called "secret"

agreement between the Scottish government and Chinese companies.

Meanwhile, the Labour leader has spoken publicly for the first time

since making controversial comments about independence.

after she gave a controversial interview.

She had said it is not inconceivable that she could support a yes vote

as they tried to say they were the only ones against austerity.

If there ever was to be one, I would vote no

for the same reasons as last time but we have move on.

Good evening. A fair bit of rain and the forecast over the next few days

and tonight, we have got a weather front curving across the central

swathe of the UK, bringing some thundery downpours to south east

England. Rain pushing up through Wales, the Midlands and the design

and that Central Scotland. It will be heavy in places, especially in

the early hours. A few chilly spots but on the whole, not terribly cold.

Tomorrow, cloudy, Misty and marquee at the start, with outbreaks of

rain. Heavy at times for eastern Scotland. That rain stretching into

eastern parts of Northern Ireland. Also affecting Wales and South West

England. For central and eastern England, it is a cloudy but

predominantly dry start to the day. Through Monday, for much of England

and Wales, it will be a case of sunny spells and scattered, heavy

showers. Some of those bringing the risk of a hill and slander. For

Northern Ireland Ireland and Scotland, Britain is harder to come

by. The best of it for Shetland, the Western Isles and the Southern

uplands maybe brightening up in the afternoon, however always with the

risk of a few sharp showers. Winds mainly late. Overnight introduced,

low pressure still firmly in charge across Scotland. Drier conditions

for the rest of the UK and north of the border we will see a steady

improvement as we go through Tuesday. Skies gradually brightening

from the West. Some cells in sunshine developing. It will be the

far north and north-east where men will linger longest.
