Scottish Olympians in Rio are celebrating the country's

best ever medal haul from an overseas Games.

Tonight, Andy Murray is hoping to become the first player to win

Later, cyclist Callum Skinner is hoping to win

These Olympics are shaping up to be special for the Scottish athlete out

here in Rio, competing as part of Team GB. This evening in that

stadium behind me, Andy Murray will take on Juan Martin del Potro in the

tennis singles Olympic final. He is guaranteed and 11th Scottish medal

but will it be billed for the Olympic defending champion?

The team has done extremely well over the last two days especially. I

am happy I have added a medal to the tally so far. Hopefully I can make

it a gold medal. Number 12 will come in the velodrome

as Callum Skinner goes in the final Number 12 will come in the velodrome

of the men's sprint. He's up against his GB team-mate and roommate Jason

Kenney. The Scottish athletes out here in Rio are really playing their

crowned Olympic champion spoke to us earlier.

Police in Edinburgh say they're treating the stabbing

Tahir Ahmed sustained a fractured skull in the attack.

His family say it's the third time in a year the newsagents

in the Trinity area of the city has been targeted.

The family of Tahir Ahmed have opened the shop as usual as the

father recovers from what police describe as a cowardly attack. The

54-year-old was behind the tale in his shop when two men armed with a

machete confronted him demanding money. Mr Ahmed triggered a sound

alarm and try to fight them off. He went at him with the machete. He

tried to protect himself and set the alarm. He took two shots to be had.

There was a struggle across there. The whole street came over.

His family say that within the past year there have been two

unsuccessful attempts to rob the shop as well. Mr Ahmed's customers

who know him as Joe are shocked. He is always nice to everybody... He

is there every day. In this day and age, that it happens

to a man like that... The men did not manage to steal

anything but have left Mr Ahmed with a fractured skull. They say both

suspects wore dark clothing and beanie hats. They are pale. Police

say there were many people in the area around the attack and they

would like to hear information. Royal Bank of Scotland still plans

to move its registered headquarters out of Scotland should there be

a Yes vote in any future Chief executive Ross McEwan has
