A mother and son who died after getting into difficulty

in the sea off Aberdeen have been named by police.

Six-year-old Lucas Walker was paddling in the water

His mother Julie Walker tried to save him.

Combing the beach for clues to explain how such a tragedy could

happen. Six-year-old Lucas Walker had been playing in the water when

he got into difficulty. His mother Julie and brother Samuel try to help

him while others witnessed the horrific events. The whole beach was

covered in people, police were everywhere. There was something in

the water. Obviously, people in the water. As flowers were laid, more

details have emerged about the heroic actions that tried to save

those in difficulty. On and off duty police officers were among those who

entered the water to try to help. I would like to pay tribute to Lucas's

brother Samuel who very bravely also entered the water in an attempt to

rescue his mother and his brother. We are all very thankful Samuel is

metres relay team. And she's been speaking

to our Olympics Reporter Jane Lewis. There was plenty of success on the

track at the Olympic Stadium overnight for Team GB and a Scot was

among it. Congratulations. Olympic bronze medallist. What are the

emotions this morning? It was kind of relief last night because we knew

we had a good chance of winning a medal, but sometimes it never

happens so to have a medal, it is a relief and sheer joy. A fantastic

games for Team GB and Scottish athletes have played their part. How

Temperatures into the low 20s. This evening, cloudy with outbreaks of

rain, some mist and Mark developing and quite a mild if not humid night

teens. Tomorrow, a wet start in the South. A lot of rain into Argyll and

Inverness. Across the UK as a whole is, between the warm front and the

cold front, warm air. Temperatures in the mid-20s. Some rain in Wales

afternoon, temperatures up to 20, 20 one Celsius and decent spells of

sunshine. Further west, the cloud will break at times also, one or two
