Having said that, the chances were very much against him. It was a

very, very slim chance. Great to see Thomson play a fantastic shot,

Nicky had had the great result. He used all of his experience and

played a perfect running bowl. into the semifinal? That bowl is

not going to be winning the end. Perhaps a bit of adrenalin from

Thomson. That is a decent start, it is going to run a bit. He will need

for over 20 years. I remember when John Price won his world title, we

knew it was going to happen, it was just a matter of time. We were not

sure when. He was going into all the big tournaments as one of the

favourites. A good bowl again. In 1996 David Gourlay was a 100-1

outsider. A very tough match in his first round, he came through in the

last frame. It was my first year as well. A few people had a few

shekels on him at 100-1. No-one expected him to win it. Very

difficult actual first tournament to go through and win. It has not

happened many times. John is on a good line. It just might slip past.

Just over a -- overplayed. It is always easier when you're watching.

It is good to get one just behind the jack. John is on the same line

as his previous bowl. Has he looks pretty good. Yes, he is

trying to encourage it forward. Making sure he gets it in front of

part in the semifinal of this tournament for the first time in
