Day 5 Bowls World Indoor Championships

It looks like Paul Foster had it. It was always going to be difficult.

The tournament favourite gets it in a tense tiebreak. Through to the

semifinals. , Stuart Anderson against the former

semifinalist, Darren Burnett. Darren Burnett fought back with an

excellent display to take the second set. Darren Burnett turned his back

on Taiwan. Very quickly. -- that one.

Both would have liked their opening bowlers a little bit closer. He must

be close. Going all the way. It comes. Perfect. The back bowl comes

into play. Very interested in this. It gives

him a chance. He starts to seriously think about edging the bowl off.

Darren Burnett decided to play for hand for this. Doing well to pull

back for this one. It is not bad. It must almost be over. He must be

I do not think Andy Thomson will attack the early. He will build up

the target. His with this. It is right down on centre-line. If

he needs a drive, he is in trouble. He's not happy with one. When you

play one, you get off the matter to quickly.

A very handy bowl. It'll be difficult to negotiate on forehand.

He needs one shot. Robert Paxton has played a perfect and at the moment.

I think Robert Paxton has played perfectly here. Difficult to

negotiate on beforehand. It Andy Thomson goes on the backhand and

blocking the forehand draw. He might be the bowl in the drawing line. He

hasn't got too much on. If you feel the line up, it might be awkward.

Andy Thomson needs a super bowl here. He has to wait. Past the short

Congratulations to Robert Paxton, through to the semifinals. Jonathan

Ross and Mervyn King. There is more to life about this

own goal third. Mervyn King has found a really big lost bowl. Just

when he needed it. Going for the runner. Trying to get

will have to keep the pressure on. A good line again. It just rolls

plenty of room for Jonathan. John needs to find a really good bowl

here. Just to take some pressure off himself. You wouldn't want to leave

it to be vast bowl. This is a good line in again. A very good line. It

just needs to stop. Jonathan is going to need a big last bowl to

recover from this. You always think with him, that he has the chance of

playing a bad in. If he does, you have two capitalise. The three back

bowls are against Mervyn. I don't think he is close enough to secure

the shot. He has covered the back. It is quite a defensive bowl. He was

worried about leaving a target and dropping the count. Jonathan going

for the jack now. He is getting close. He is on the right line with

this one. It certainly looks a bit better. Rather than lose three or

four shots he decided to just leave the head alone. Yes, and Jonathan

because the way Mervyn plays, nine innings on top of the jack, if

Jonathan misses it, it is all over. It is hard to know what to do. I

circumstances, he would have been very disappointed not to score. But

it was a tremendous set of roles. He needs to get the shot here. --

in the semi-final. Jonathan is playing very well here, but Mervyn

is from that miracles that of bowls. -- set. He has got a marvellous

ability to play a brilliant bowl when required. So often it is the

didn't play quite as well as he has, but he had some great shots at

the right time. So he is the semi-final lineup for the
