Darts Championship at Frimley Green. We are down to the last few matches,

and we start with the man who has won the Grand Slam, the third seed

coming in, the favourite with the bookies, Scott Waites. He has only

reached the quarter finals so far, he is looking to go all the way,

but in the first round he came up to the Dutchman, Willy van de Wiel,

relax. He knows he has got that. But you would have to doubt that

after all been waiting he could produce something like that. But

you would not put it past him. Lightning speed and sensational

successive legs. It was not to be. Surely he has thrown his last dart.

was never going to be a slow match. It was quite fast and furious. It

was the quickest set I have ever played in my life, I think. It was

you played in other tournaments and how you have not produced your best

year yet. Yes, well I did not play that well before tonight but I won

quite happy with that victory. If I can hit double straight away, that

up this year at Lakeside? Have you tried to take yourself away from

the cauldron? Yes, basically. We have had Breakfast at Lakeside and

we have gone down into the town and spent time at the working man's

club. They have got a dart boards down there and I play a few local

lads. We had spent time down there practising, me and Garry Thompson

and it has paid off and been good. And the standard is phenomenal. If

you could put that on television, that would be it. Good luck for the

second round. A good night for Scott Waites with an average of

more than 92. That will get better and better and he is not a big name

that has gone out in the first round, like Christian Kist it. The
