break from Brighty. Who could blame him? We're delighted to have with

seventh in the Premier League in 2007, seven years of decline

followed. Now, though, they finally have something to celebrate. Here's

Charlton are doing, what Norwich did, and they'll think can your old

club go back? In the Premier League, everybody was saying Curbs has

taken it as far as it can go. Look at the decline. It's fantastic

they're back. He went in and changed it all around, 18 new

players at the start of the season, hit the ground running, went so

long without a defeat and rightfully win promotion, but you

have to say there is nothing stopping Chris adding to the squad

he already has, the belief they have, the ability they have to

score goals. They have kept - I think it's something like 12, 13,

14 clean sheets, something like that and go in again. Listen. First

job, tick the box, promotion. Second job, new players, what can

we do? Absolutely delighted with everybody involved with Charlton

Football Club. You had your own brief hopes of playoff this season.

What do you need to do to push the club to be a top six team?

Realistically we have to build from within because we only have certain

limits with our financial possibilities. We've done well this

year. It gives us hope for the future. Let's look at your action

at the weekend against Hull City. James Chester giving them an early

lead there. Then the equaliser. Yeah. Troy has

done well because obviously this year we have sold �7.5 million of

players and spent about a million and have two really good centre

forwards and done really well for the club in two players. Danny has

come to the floor really and provided goals for us and

performances it must be said. I think it's back to the team

mentality for us. We have a really honest group, a nice demand for the

group every game. We're still looking forward to the three games.

You had Adrian sent off. What did you say to him afterwards? I said,

you look like you have been out for about a month. A little rusty.

That's right. No, there was no malicious angle. He's a tough ref

ree, but that's the guy. I have no problem with that. It's one of them

things. Matt is a truly immaculate professional. There is a young plan

we want to speak to you about. He's had such an impact on the club,

Sean Murray, five goals this season, just been named the Football League

Player of the Month award for March. What's that he had to say when he

was handed the award by you. played a few games recently and

scored a few goals, but there's also been a lot of other good young

players in the league, so it's good to get the award. I had a promotion

going to the academy, going to the Hereford academy. The coaches for

the young ages are brilliant and help us out a lot. I think that's

helped me get into the team and made me comfortable at this level.

Any ideas where you're going to put your new shiny award? My mum just

put up a shelf, so stick it up there.

Quite right too - right answer. What about this, then, Sean? What

did you say about him? He's a nice young talent, has a nice manner

about him. He has a nice arrogance. It's not over the top. But he has

that belief on the pitch to deliver. We felt it was appropriate for him

to deal with that occasion, and he did so against Tottenham which was

his first game. I was questioning putting him in there, but sometimes

that relax them - there is a lack of expectation in the game against

Watford, well and truly underdogs. He's built on that nicely,

delivered some good goals, important goals. We're not

overwhelming him with information at the moment. We're letting him

run with him. He's going along well. Plenty of our team still have much

to play for this season. We have seen Charlton clinch promotion.

Here's Nick to run us through how Farr of our other clubs got on over

the weekend as they seek football Everyone knows that West Ham have

been susceptible at home in recent weeks that seems to have changed.

Rick cardo Vaz Te has been in good form recently and took two minutes

to get going from long range. He then nodded in number two from Gary

O'Neill's cross before Nolan made it three with just 11 minutes

played. Brighton managed to stem the tide until halftime, but Vads

Te claimed his hat-trick just after the hour with a stunning strike.

Carlton Cole got in on the act with a little bit of help from Henry

Lansbury's ankle, while Gary Dickers' own goal completed a

miserable day for the Brighton travelling fans. West Ham with a

heavily improved goal difference - now three points behind Southampton.

Brentford's recent surge towards the playoff spot was held by Notts

County, who had the best early chance. Jeff Hughes' strike coming

back off the cross bar. In response, Marcus Bean's mere

presence caused mayhem in the unable to poke past the bodies. Sam

Saunders thought he'd found the net with a trademark free kick but it

wasn't to be. Three games remain, and they're three points adrift.

Gillingham's dreams of a playoff spot hang by a thread after this

draw with Oxford. They had the keeper to thank for a superb one-

handed save to deny Hall. Esham hack aid way the rebound. Oxford

kept coming, and Fish was the next player to save Gillingham on the

line. When Chris Wiltdale found a way through the defence, he

couldn't beat keeper Brown. Nothing lost but nothing gained.

A huge loss to Gillingham at home on Saturday. At the time of

recording this on Saturday, all fans are still banned from

attending. Local authorities say fans won't be allowed in unless the

club play for extra policing. The club refuse to comment. Hopefully

Another of our promotion contenders are Crawley. It has been an

eventful week for them. On Easter Monday hours before their match

with Barnet it was confirmed the manager left for Rotherham. Will

his departure mean calmer times in West Sussex? We went to Saturday's

game against Wimbledon to find out. Got a lot of passion. We can't

change that. That has to remain. There is an edge.

It's a fantastic football club. Rotherham United in my opinion is a

special football club. With Steve Evans gone, this was the dawn of a

new era. Steve Koppel installed as Director of Football. The title of

caretaker/manager going to one of Evans' former assistants. At the

end of the day, I am in charge of the team, and he brings his

expertise in, and we feed off of each other.

Whoever is calling the shots in the dugout now is down to the Crawley

players or at least those of them who aren't suspended to try to get

the three points that could move them back into the top three.

Evans had fire in his belly, Koppel has ice in his veins. He has much

work to do, though, if he's to cool the Crawley hothouse.

A total football man, but what most of all is pleasing is he's no big-

time. For me, he's just an absolute gem of a man, and I think the

players appreciate that. So Craig Bruce is happy to be

working with him, and it seems Steve Evans might not be missed if

footage that's emerged on the net is anything to go by. This was

weekend. I thought it was an awful challenge when I saw it on the

Football League show. As soon as I saw it, he ended up with a broken

leg. It was a justified card. They're going for promotion. Like

you said they have had four semis in five games. Steve is strong like

that I can tell you when I was at Crystal Palace, one of the centre-

backs broke an ankle of an opponent and Steve said, "This goes for

everyone in the room, I won't have challenges like that." His career

got ended with a tackle like that. I won't have it. You go in hard and

fair. If you get hurt I look after you. That goes for everyone in the

room. He'll know the importance of discipline because discipline, he

think we can still add within our market. We still want to challenge
