Evening all, we've got an arresting programme for you tonight. Here's | :00:00. | :00:07.
Late Kick-Off. Cop that - James Coppinger makes it | :00:08. | :00:25.
400 and counting for Doncaster. Barnsley's stopper turned Dutch | :00:26. | :00:28.
copper - it's Arjan de Zeeuw of the Yard. | :00:29. | :00:35.
Only when they got to the airport, he told me it was Barnsley. | :00:36. | :00:43.
And we'll see how our own boys in blue fared at the weekend. | :00:44. | :00:48.
Good evening. And straight on with tonight's identity parade. Dean | :00:49. | :00:53.
Windass has committed a few fashion crimes in his time. In And we had to | :00:54. | :00:56.
have Brian Laws on tonight, didn't we? This isn't just thrown together, | :00:57. | :01:04.
you know! You can start your own line of questioning via Twitter. | :01:05. | :01:10.
We'll leave the police puns now, thank goodness, and get on with the | :01:11. | :01:15.
football. And a footballer who has become part of the furniture at | :01:16. | :01:17.
Doncaster Rovers. James Coppinger joined the club almost ten years | :01:18. | :01:20.
ago. And on Saturday against Birmingham City, he reached the | :01:21. | :01:22.
milestone of 400 Rovers appearances. Paul Burland was there for us. | :01:23. | :01:24.
MUSIC: "MY HERO", FOO FIGHTERS. It's been a long journey, ten years | :01:25. | :01:36.
at a football club. I've enjoyed every minute of it. | :01:37. | :01:45.
Commitment, skill, good team player. He is one of the reasons we moved up | :01:46. | :01:51.
to the League, he's played that well. | :01:52. | :01:53.
Brilliant player, holds the team together, never stops running. 110% | :01:54. | :01:55.
every game. Just a Doncaster legend, really. | :01:56. | :02:03.
Fabulous. Our hero! # There goes my hero, watch him as | :02:04. | :02:05.
he goes #. It's ten years since James Coppinger | :02:06. | :02:14.
joined Dave Penney's Doncaster, newly promoted back to the Football | :02:15. | :02:16.
League. Apart from a loan to Nottingham Forest in 2012, he's been | :02:17. | :02:21.
there throughout. The people are fantastic. I have | :02:22. | :02:26.
grown to love the place and the whole philosophy, the whole team | :02:27. | :02:29.
spirit. The work ethic that we have here hasn't really changed, to be | :02:30. | :02:32.
honest. It's a good place to be and a fantastic club to apply your | :02:33. | :02:40.
training and play football. I've seen a picture of him when he | :02:41. | :02:43.
first signed, and he looks completely different now. For the | :02:44. | :02:46.
better, I should say! He is a legend of the club. He's a great | :02:47. | :02:53.
professional. A very good player and to make 400 appearances for the club | :02:54. | :02:56.
is a massive achievement. Billy Sharp has been the beneficiary | :02:57. | :02:59.
of Coppinger's vision on more than one occasion, including being on the | :03:00. | :03:02.
finishing end of a 28 pass move at Leeds last week. But it was the | :03:03. | :03:05.
victory over their Yorkshire rivals at Wembley in 2008 that tops the | :03:06. | :03:09.
bill for Coppinger. Along with a promotion-clinching win at Brentford | :03:10. | :03:10.
in the dying moments of last season. To play at Wembley and beat Leeds in | :03:11. | :03:25.
the final was up there as one of the most memorable moments in my | :03:26. | :03:28.
footballing career. And to score the winner last season in the last | :03:29. | :03:31.
minute to take us up as champions was fantastic. | :03:32. | :03:35.
Appearance number 400 was duly marked on Saturday. Fittingly, it | :03:36. | :03:38.
was club record holder, Colin Douglas, who did the honours. And on | :03:39. | :03:41.
26 minutes, the Rovers faithful applauded their number 26. Ten | :03:42. | :03:51.
minutes later, they were ahead. Paul Quinn lashing the ball home. | :03:52. | :04:06.
One up at half-time and Coppinger's red letter day seemed to be going to | :04:07. | :04:11.
plan. But Rovers were finding Birmingham keeper, Darren Randolph, | :04:12. | :04:12.
in fine form. Federico Macheda came back to haunt | :04:13. | :04:24.
Rovers, after spending the back end of last year on loan from Manchester | :04:25. | :04:27.
United. And Lee Novak put the visitors ahead. Another defensive | :04:28. | :04:30.
lapse let in Macheda again. I've had some fantastic moments, but | :04:31. | :04:57.
like any footballer, you have moments when you want the ground to | :04:58. | :05:00.
swallow you up. I've had those moments here, but the fans back me | :05:01. | :05:04.
up nine times out of ten and you like to repay them. It's been a | :05:05. | :05:09.
great relationship. Dean, 400 games up, 40 goals. It | :05:10. | :05:12.
makes you feel old. I remember he was a young prospect at Newcastle. | :05:13. | :05:16.
It only seems like five minutes ago. He's been there a long time. The one | :05:17. | :05:19.
thing you get with him is consistency. His football | :05:20. | :05:25.
intelligence is very good. His team-mates rely on him to perform | :05:26. | :05:28.
week in and week out. There is some pressure from him as well, that he | :05:29. | :05:32.
has to perform. The supporters love him. It's not often you get someone | :05:33. | :05:39.
staying that long. Brian, we know that managers never | :05:40. | :05:42.
stay anywhere very long these days. It's the same for players as well. | :05:43. | :05:46.
There is a huge churn. What does it say about his consistency to keep | :05:47. | :05:49.
getting new contracts and to keep performing? | :05:50. | :05:50.
Well, absolutely. The first point is that he is a nice guy. To talk to, | :05:51. | :05:57.
within the football club, everybody likes him, so he has that | :05:58. | :06:00.
likeability. He's played under five managers, which tells you he is | :06:01. | :06:03.
liked and respected by everybody. To be at one club for a long time is | :06:04. | :06:07.
rare. It would normally be a defender, not a striker. He is | :06:08. | :06:09.
moving back. As you get older, you move back | :06:10. | :06:15.
anyway. He's been sensational. What a good | :06:16. | :06:20.
player. Here's to many more James Coppinger | :06:21. | :06:24.
games. Have you noticed as soon as we mention a club doing well, we put | :06:25. | :06:31.
the kibosh on them! Now, the rest of the Championship. We start with | :06:32. | :06:34.
Friday night's flight for the Owls down to the Foxes. | :06:35. | :06:41.
Visiting Leicester was always going to be tough for Wednesday. The owls | :06:42. | :06:45.
took the lead when striker Riyad Mahrez fired across keeper Chris | :06:46. | :06:48.
Kirkland from the edge of the box. Wednesday battled back and in the | :06:49. | :06:51.
37th minute, they grabbed an equaliser. Michail Antonio, back | :06:52. | :07:01.
from injury. His shot beat Leicester keeper, Kasper Schmeichel. But the | :07:02. | :07:04.
owls were beaten when Anthony Knockaert scored a terrific free | :07:05. | :07:06.
kick. Wednesday had chances to claim a point, but it wasn't their night. | :07:07. | :07:08.
It finished 2-1 to Leicester. In the midst of the club's crisis in | :07:09. | :07:18.
the boardroom, it has sometimes been forgotten that Leeds' form on the | :07:19. | :07:21.
pitch is just as worrying. This strike by Wigan's Martin Waghorn was | :07:22. | :07:24.
enough for Latics to take all the points. Leeds were better in the | :07:25. | :07:27.
second half, their best chance this cheeky chip by McCormack. But this | :07:28. | :07:30.
was another lacklustre performance by Brian McDermott's side. | :07:31. | :07:39.
Huddersfield seemed to be heading for their fourth draw in six games | :07:40. | :07:44.
at home to Bolton. Town were the better side for most of the game. | :07:45. | :07:47.
But football can be cruel. In injury time, Joe Mason's volley gave | :07:48. | :07:48.
Wanderers all three points. The end of the season is promising | :07:49. | :08:03.
to be nail-biting for Barnsley. They took a point against Brighton. Danny | :08:04. | :08:06.
Wilson will probably view it as a point gained, particularly as his | :08:07. | :08:09.
side had to play the last 15 minutes with ten men, after Kelvin Etuhu was | :08:10. | :08:12.
sent off. With Charlton losing, there is still real hope for | :08:13. | :08:14.
Barnsley. Congratulations to promoted | :08:15. | :08:21.
Leicester. But I'm afraid still only the bottom half for us to look at. | :08:22. | :08:24.
Wednesday unmoved, Leeds again, and Huddersfield go down a notch. Seven | :08:25. | :08:28.
games without a win for the Terriers now. Doncaster have been leapfrogged | :08:29. | :08:31.
by Birmingham. And Barnsley are in a proper scrap, after away wins for | :08:32. | :08:32.
Millwall and Yeovil. Leeds United lost. But their big | :08:33. | :08:50.
news came off the field at the weekend, with Massimo Cellino clear | :08:51. | :08:53.
to take over, it seems. What happens now? Adam Pope has been down at | :08:54. | :08:57.
Elland Road today, talking to Brian McDermott. | :08:58. | :08:58.
I spoke to Brian McDermott, who seems to be quite calm, not least a | :08:59. | :09:01.
bit relieved. The ownership situation looks to be heading for a | :09:02. | :09:08.
resolution. He hasn't actually spoken to Massimo Cellino, but he | :09:09. | :09:11.
did receive a text from the Italian saying he was in charge of the club. | :09:12. | :09:15.
That was on Saturday. Going forward, does Brian McDermott feel this might | :09:16. | :09:18.
be his last game in charge? He said, if it is, let's hope it's a win. But | :09:19. | :09:26.
he says every time you manage a game you expect it could be your last in | :09:27. | :09:30.
charge. So, he's very philosophical. As for Massimo Cellino, he texted me | :09:31. | :09:34.
today to say he will be at the match at Watford tomorrow night. We expect | :09:35. | :09:37.
that now the Football League have approved him after his appeal was | :09:38. | :09:39.
successful, to make sure his vehicle, his company takes charge of | :09:40. | :09:43.
75% of the club from the current owners. However, there is a caveat. | :09:44. | :09:54.
We are still awaiting the written reasonings of the judge in Italy on | :09:55. | :09:58.
Friday she found him guilty of tax evasion on his yacht. At the | :09:59. | :10:05.
weekend, the QC said that although he was convicted of the crime, it | :10:06. | :10:08.
was not a dishonest one. If the judge finds that it was dishonest, | :10:09. | :10:11.
then the Football League might have a way of challenging Massimo Cellino | :10:12. | :10:14.
again, and reapplying the owners and directors test. And it may be that | :10:15. | :10:21.
next time, he fails. Goodness me, we're not at the end of | :10:22. | :10:25.
it yet! Dean, he sacked another manager at Cagliari at the weekend. | :10:26. | :10:32.
The 36th he has gotten rid of during his time in charge. Brian McDermott, | :10:33. | :10:35.
it's any game now, isn't it? Yeah, like he said, it's every game. | :10:36. | :10:38.
But it doesn't sound convincing for him, at the moment. | :10:39. | :10:46.
Brian, most Leeds fans think, this is good, we can get going again now. | :10:47. | :10:50.
But it is not as clear-cut as that, is it? | :10:51. | :10:54.
Well, it doesn't seem to be. I think everybody wants to put that to bed | :10:55. | :10:57.
and concentrate on what is good about the football club. And move | :10:58. | :11:04.
forward. That's the only way. They have to get some direction now. It's | :11:05. | :11:07.
just a question of which direction to go in. That's what everybody is | :11:08. | :11:12.
waiting for. Brian has been under immense pressure. But reaction has | :11:13. | :11:18.
been fantastic. He has come out of this well, | :11:19. | :11:24.
whatever happens. It's going to be a rocky road. | :11:25. | :11:28.
Coming up: they are not Masterminds, they're Minstermen and they are Man | :11:29. | :11:33.
On. And we cast a forensic eye on man of | :11:34. | :11:37.
mystery Arjan de Zeeuw. And that is where we go next. Former | :11:38. | :11:44.
Barnsley favourite, Arjan de Zeeuw, who left his footprint and | :11:45. | :11:46.
fingerprints all over Oakwell in a four-year stay. Now, via Wigan, | :11:47. | :11:49.
Portsmouth and Coventry, Arie, as he is known, is back in Holland. And he | :11:50. | :11:54.
is a forensic detective. Ian Haslam followed the clues to Alkmaar. | :11:55. | :12:06.
This isn't the opening of the 1970s crime detective series, Van der | :12:07. | :12:09.
Valk. This is former Barnsley centre half Arjan de Zeeuw. | :12:10. | :12:15.
Many footballers retire to a life on the golf course. But this Dutch | :12:16. | :12:24.
former defender has swapped his boots for a gun. He now works as a | :12:25. | :12:27.
detective for the Netherlands police. Arjan invited me to Alkmaar | :12:28. | :12:31.
to get an insight into his life as a detective. | :12:32. | :12:38.
The department that deals with bigger crimes, murders, robberies. | :12:39. | :12:41.
There will be some kind of excitement, but usually by the time | :12:42. | :12:44.
the detectives get to the scene, most of the exciting stuff has | :12:45. | :12:49.
happened. And it is very tedious research. We also work with | :12:50. | :12:52.
forensics to find traces of what you think might have happened. We make | :12:53. | :12:54.
scenarios. Eventually we try to find the culprit and take them to court. | :12:55. | :13:04.
Do you use your footballing pace? It has helped me a little bit. I was | :13:05. | :13:15.
running after somebody who legged it and after a minute, they sort of | :13:16. | :13:19.
gave up because they realised they were not going to get away. He was | :13:20. | :13:21.
completely out of breath. Professional football came late for | :13:22. | :13:30.
de Zeeuw. He was studying to become a doctor. After graduating in | :13:31. | :13:36.
medical science, he was picked up by Dutch club Telstar at the age of 22. | :13:37. | :13:39.
After four years in Holland's second division, an intriguing offer came | :13:40. | :13:42.
along which involved a move to Yorkshire. | :13:43. | :13:44.
I had nearly given up on being a professional footballer. In Holland | :13:45. | :13:50.
I had decided that would be my last year in that lower division. An | :13:51. | :13:53.
agent approached me and said I have a club for you in England. He said | :13:54. | :13:57.
it was in the First Division. It was only when we got to the airport, he | :13:58. | :14:01.
told me it was Barnsley! By that time I still did not have a clue who | :14:02. | :14:05.
Barnsley was. But we went there and I had a chat with Danny Wilson. I | :14:06. | :14:12.
stayed there and tasted the atmosphere and I thought it would be | :14:13. | :14:16.
an adventure. And sort of embarked upon it. Barnsley is a very working | :14:17. | :14:23.
class town and there was a lot of unemployment and poverty. So, it was | :14:24. | :14:29.
a bit of a shock for me to see the big difference between people who | :14:30. | :14:32.
had money and people who didn't. But on the footballing side, things were | :14:33. | :14:35.
very different too. The passion of the fans was so different to what I | :14:36. | :14:39.
was used to at Telstar. It struck a good chord in my heart and I | :14:40. | :14:43.
thought, I want to try this and see how it goes. | :14:44. | :14:48.
De Zeeuw certainly struck the right chord with the Barnsley faithful. In | :14:49. | :14:54.
his first season, he played a key role for the team which won | :14:55. | :14:57.
promotion to the Premier League in 1997. | :14:58. | :15:04.
Actually to get promotion, I didn't expect that. During the season, it | :15:05. | :15:11.
started to creep up on us. We are still celebrating. We are thinking, | :15:12. | :15:14.
we could put maybe play against Dennis Bergkamp. He is a bit of an | :15:15. | :15:17.
idol. To play against Dennis Bergkamp and Eric Cantona and David | :15:18. | :15:20.
Ginola. I was looking at them when I was younger thinking, these are | :15:21. | :15:24.
good. Suddenly, you are playing against them. Renfrew was the main | :15:25. | :15:28.
man at that time, he was scoring a lot of goals from midfield and he | :15:29. | :15:31.
was the skipper. Andy Payton was the most selfish striker I have ever | :15:32. | :15:34.
met, but he was scoring goals, so you accepted it. Darren Sheridan was | :15:35. | :15:37.
a fantastic character in midfield, Steve Davis at the back. He was my | :15:38. | :15:41.
partner in crime at the back. Fantastic lad. And Andy Liddell who | :15:42. | :15:46.
I rejoined at Wigan for a time. I really enjoyed it. Despite their | :15:47. | :15:50.
best efforts, they were relegated a season later and de Zeeuw was set to | :15:51. | :15:54.
leave the club, but manager John Hendrie persuaded him to stay for | :15:55. | :16:00.
one more season. John Hendrie came and he was a character and he was | :16:01. | :16:03.
always the joker in the dressing room. It made it even more hard for | :16:04. | :16:09.
him to actually take on the manager's role. I think it made it | :16:10. | :16:18.
extra hard as everybody looked at him like a joke. He was always doing | :16:19. | :16:22.
jokes. When he was manager himself all of a sudden. It was tough. And | :16:23. | :16:28.
Paul Wilson of course. The man I met who never did a warm up. He jumped | :16:29. | :16:31.
in the bath before the game, and then onto the pitch. It was a new | :16:32. | :16:35.
one to me, as well. This is the year the local station's football team... | :16:36. | :16:39.
I'm not on this one, I have played against these guys a few times. What | :16:40. | :16:45.
is the standard? They are very energetic, put it that way. You have | :16:46. | :16:49.
to be careful with your legs. But I do play with the police national | :16:50. | :16:54.
team. We have qualified for the European Championships in Prague | :16:55. | :16:57.
this summer, which is pretty good. This is where general police people | :16:58. | :17:01.
work. He is enjoying his new career as a detective, but how does it | :17:02. | :17:04.
compare with being a professional footballer? There is nothing that | :17:05. | :17:06.
compares with professional football. It is the best job in the wall. The | :17:07. | :17:15.
excitement, the fans, everything. Being together with the lads in the | :17:16. | :17:18.
dressing room, day in, day out. Such a pleasure. But I still get my | :17:19. | :17:24.
moments of excitement, trying to get somebody related to a crime and | :17:25. | :17:27.
trying to get them prosecuted, it is a team effort, you cannot do it on | :17:28. | :17:29.
your own. That is wonderful. Great story, | :17:30. | :17:33.
great character. You played against him a few times. They say the | :17:34. | :17:38.
ex-footballers are thick! Who says that? Well, I was going to go there, | :17:39. | :17:44.
but I won't. You know what you will get from him. Like he said in the | :17:45. | :17:47.
VT, he wasn't the quickest centrehalf, but very intelligent. | :17:48. | :17:53.
You knew when you played against him that it would be a tough game. Full | :17:54. | :18:00.
credit to him going back to his homeland and doing what he's doing. | :18:01. | :18:03.
Remarkable career change. It is clear that he still has fond | :18:04. | :18:06.
feelings for Barnsley where it all began for him. Talking of Barnsley, | :18:07. | :18:10.
we know what a tough ask it is for them to stay up this season. Can | :18:11. | :18:15.
they do it? If we look at the fixtures. Can you make a case for | :18:16. | :18:19.
them staying up? You look at key games. They have some very key games | :18:20. | :18:28.
coming up. I think next week, they play Charlton. That is going to | :18:29. | :18:36.
probably be the turning point for me. If you beat the teams around | :18:37. | :18:46.
you, that is the job you have to do. No point in beating the top teams, | :18:47. | :18:49.
because the other teams around you could be winning. You have to take | :18:50. | :18:53.
points off the bottom. Just quickly, the fact they have to do it year | :18:54. | :18:56.
after year, will that put them in good stead? I think so. The | :18:57. | :19:03.
supporters are always behind them. They don't have the biggest budget | :19:04. | :19:07.
in the world. Listen, if they stay up, we want them to stay up, because | :19:08. | :19:11.
they are the Yorkshire clubs and we have two local derbies in that | :19:12. | :19:14.
campaign. Let's hope they stay up. We have everything crossed that | :19:15. | :19:16.
Barnsley will be a Championship club next season. Next, they will be | :19:17. | :19:19.
joined by Rotherham United and. Paul Walker starts up his round of League | :19:20. | :19:23.
One with yet another win for the Millers. | :19:24. | :19:23.
Walker starts up his round Rotherham's season just keeps | :19:24. | :19:27.
getting better. As they did last week, they went in front early. | :19:28. | :19:30.
Inside the first 20 seconds, in fact. Kieran Agard tapping them | :19:31. | :19:33.
ahead against Gillingham. After half an hour, the Gills were level. | :19:34. | :19:35.
Former Doncaster striker Ade Akinfenwa with the header. In the | :19:36. | :19:41.
57th minute, Myles Weston to the home side in front. But the Millers | :19:42. | :19:51.
levelled things in the 69th minute. Richie Smallwood with a lovely pass | :19:52. | :19:54.
to Tom Hitchcock, who finished with aplomb. A defensive howler by Kari | :19:55. | :19:57.
Arnason seemed to hand the points to Gillingham, Bradley Dack with a | :19:58. | :20:05.
wonderful chip. But Steve Evans' men are made of sturdy stuff. Within | :20:06. | :20:12.
seconds, level again. This time Adam Barrett failed to clear and | :20:13. | :20:15.
Hitchcock scored his second of the match. A magnificent seventh goal | :20:16. | :20:18.
still to come. Hitchcock completed a priceless hat-trick in injury time. | :20:19. | :20:21.
Rotherham won't give up on trying to claim an automatic promotion place. | :20:22. | :20:26.
Sheffield United's hopes of a late promotion seemed a long shot when | :20:27. | :20:29.
Orient went in front just before the break. Dean Cox with the finish. But | :20:30. | :20:39.
the Blades are nothing if not resilient under Nigel Clough. Jamie | :20:40. | :20:42.
Murphy kept United's promotion hopes alive as well as scoring the 7000th | :20:43. | :20:51.
League goal in the club's history. Bradford returned to their bad old | :20:52. | :20:55.
ways against Oldham. Jonson Clarke-Harris and James Wesolowski | :20:56. | :20:58.
combined to put the Latics in front halfway through the first half. But | :20:59. | :21:02.
the Bantams were back in contention when Adam Reach, on loan from | :21:03. | :21:04.
Middlesbrough, scored ten minutes before the break. But just before | :21:05. | :21:09.
that, Clarke-Harris found room in the box to smash home another and | :21:10. | :21:16.
restore Oldham's advantage. He was again on target near the hour mark | :21:17. | :21:19.
to give Oldham and unassailable lead. With seconds to go, Gary Jones | :21:20. | :21:23.
claimed a consolation for the Bantams, but no time for an | :21:24. | :21:26.
equaliser. It finished 3-2 to Oldham. | :21:27. | :21:32.
A magnificent win for the Millers, who move closer to the top two every | :21:33. | :21:37.
week. Two huge Yorkshire derbys for them this week, at Sheffield United | :21:38. | :21:42.
tomorrow, then Bradford on Friday. Both of those two looking at a | :21:43. | :21:47.
likely finish in the middle. There just seems to be no stopping | :21:48. | :21:53.
Steve Evans' men. He has unearthed another one. Tom Hitchcock on loan | :21:54. | :21:58.
from Queens Park Rangers. However you get them. He gets the right | :21:59. | :22:03.
players. When you look at the turnaround of the last two years, it | :22:04. | :22:07.
has been incredible. To see them in a position where they are now, | :22:08. | :22:11.
having had a great season last year. He has picked up another gem here. | :22:12. | :22:17.
Hitchcock has great ability. There is a variety of goals in him. That's | :22:18. | :22:21.
key for any manager. He can score with his left foot, right foot. He | :22:22. | :22:25.
can chip, he seems to know where the back of the net is. At this stage of | :22:26. | :22:28.
the season, it is perfect timing, as well. A half-hour hat-trick it was. | :22:29. | :22:33.
As Brian said, you go out on loan, they say go and prove what you can | :22:34. | :22:39.
do. What a hat trick. You have to have different types of goals and | :22:40. | :22:42.
you have to have the ability to do that. He has certainly done that. I | :22:43. | :22:51.
want to leave Rotherham behind and go to Sheffield United. I want to | :22:52. | :22:55.
stroke your excitement. Dash-mac/ It is the semifinal, Hull City | :22:56. | :23:05.
against Sheffield United. I know you will be in the Tigers' camp. Can you | :23:06. | :23:16.
make a case for the Blades upsetting the odds? Everybody is saying that | :23:17. | :23:19.
we are the favourites, of course we are. We are a Premier League club. | :23:20. | :23:23.
It is a cup tie, an FA Cup tie, it is at Wembley, Sheffield United will | :23:24. | :23:27.
be up for it. It won't be that easy. If Steve's team don't perform, we | :23:28. | :23:30.
haven't got centre forward the, whichever the players are front has | :23:31. | :23:33.
to go and prove and perform on the day. If not, we will get turned | :23:34. | :23:37.
over. The good news is whatever happens, it will be one Yorkshire | :23:38. | :23:40.
team in the FA Cup final. That was League One. League Two in a moment. | :23:41. | :23:45.
After a quick break for a return of the worst quiz in the world, Man On. | :23:46. | :23:48.
This week, it is York City's Lanre Oyebanjo and Lewis Montrose, and, | :23:49. | :23:52.
lads, to be honest, I would just go out now if I were you. | :23:53. | :24:01.
Prior to 2012, when were York last in the Football League? | :24:02. | :24:13.
I'd say 2003. Which English footballer was the | :24:14. | :24:15.
first European footballer of the year? | :24:16. | :24:22.
Frank Wright? Gazza? | :24:23. | :24:25.
Stanley Matthews. What is the capital of China? | :24:26. | :24:29.
Hong Kong. Tokyo! Tokyo! Tokyo! | :24:30. | :24:36.
Beijing. I had two bites at the cherry there! | :24:37. | :24:39.
What football team does Prince Charles support? | :24:40. | :24:42.
Who was first? You. | :24:43. | :24:48.
Me? Aston Villa. Same colour. | :24:49. | :24:52.
Burnley. Correct. | :24:53. | :24:57.
Yes! Get in there! In the 1995 to 1996 season, York | :24:58. | :25:00.
City recorded a famous League Cup victory. | :25:01. | :25:01.
Against Manchester United? No. He didn't buzz. | :25:02. | :25:06.
I was finishing the question! You've got to buzz! That's the | :25:07. | :25:09.
rules. Man United. I knew that as well! | :25:10. | :25:14.
Thankfully, they are fine footballers. York 's game at | :25:15. | :25:23.
Rochdale kicks off the weekend. York were always going to be up | :25:24. | :25:34.
against it at top of the table Rochdale on Saturday. This goalless | :25:35. | :25:37.
draw was mission accomplished for Nigel Worthington. The extra bonus | :25:38. | :25:42.
for the Minstermen is that the extra point means they climb back to the | :25:43. | :25:45.
play-off spot. With Rochdale dropping points, Scunthorpe had the | :25:46. | :25:48.
chance to go top, if they could beat Torquay by two goals or more. That | :25:49. | :25:54.
looked possible after Sam Winnall scored after half an hour. Torquay | :25:55. | :25:57.
had a chance to level, when Winnall was adjudged to have fouled Krystian | :25:58. | :26:03.
Pearce. But Sam Slocombe dived left to save his eighth penalty of the | :26:04. | :26:09.
season. Scunny remain second. The first-half between Chesterfield and | :26:10. | :26:12.
Newport was not much to write home about. But five minutes into the | :26:13. | :26:16.
second half, Jimmy Ryan had a terrific chip from the edge of the | :26:17. | :26:20.
box. But the Welshmen inflicted a potential blow to the Spireites' | :26:21. | :26:25.
hopes of automatic promotion. Max Porter effectively passed the ball | :26:26. | :26:30.
past Tommy Lee from 20 yards out. It's squeaky bum time in North | :26:31. | :26:34.
Derbyshire. Russ Wilcox's run with Scunthorpe | :26:35. | :26:37.
continues, now 25 unbeaten. Only behind Rochdale at the top by two | :26:38. | :26:42.
goals. That was thanks to York holding the leaders with an | :26:43. | :26:45.
astonishing seven clean sheet in a row. City are back in a play-off | :26:46. | :26:48.
place. As for Chesterfield, they are looking over their shoulders a bit. | :26:49. | :26:53.
Five clean sheets in a row. Largely down to their unbelievable | :26:54. | :26:59.
goalkeeper. The penalty statistic is amazing. Eight saves in the season. | :27:00. | :27:05.
He is a brilliant trainer, brilliant lad and a great athlete. From a | :27:06. | :27:10.
goalkeeper's point of view, you want somebody with confidence. When we | :27:11. | :27:15.
went into the club, he was short of confidence. He conceded 70 odd | :27:16. | :27:23.
goals. He needed to come out and have a rest and re-evaluate. It has | :27:24. | :27:26.
done him the world of good, because he has gone from strength to | :27:27. | :27:29.
strength and is one of the best keepers in the division, if not the | :27:30. | :27:33.
best. Talking of keepers, York have got a good one in Nick Pope. On loan | :27:34. | :27:36.
from Charlton. York conceded one goal in the last 11. Two great | :27:37. | :27:39.
goalkeepers. That's what you need. Brian said, sometimes goalkeepers go | :27:40. | :27:45.
through a bit of a blip. You take out and you rely on your second | :27:46. | :27:50.
choice. That is what has happened. Looking good for both York City and | :27:51. | :27:53.
Scunthorpe. We have a full programme of fixtures in the championship. | :27:54. | :27:57.
Barnsley must upset the odds against Burnley. Doncaster go to Bolton and | :27:58. | :28:02.
the Yorkshire return for Mick McCarthy. Wednesday go to Forest. | :28:03. | :28:07.
All those games on Tuesday. As is the huge South Yorkshire derby in | :28:08. | :28:11.
League One. As ever, live commentary reports and all the rest from those | :28:12. | :28:14.
games will be on your local BBC radio. For a rerun of this | :28:15. | :28:21.
programme, and all the other variations on the different regions, | :28:22. | :28:24.
we will be on the iPlayer for seven days. That's it for tonight. My | :28:25. | :28:33.
thanks to Brian and Dean who will of course be at Wembley on Sunday. And | :28:34. | :28:38.
for Leeds fans going to Watford tomorrow. Italian for marching on | :28:39. | :28:40.
together is | :28:41. | :28:41. |
