Day 5 Masters Snooker Extra

Hello and welcome to Snooker Extra, on day five of the BGC Masters. The

top office draw was Ronnie O'Sullivan up against the UK

champion Judd Trump. The chance to see the hottest young talent in the

game up against the player that everyone wants to watch, created a

full house and a unique atmosphere in the arena.

Please welcome the most naturally gifted player ever to grace the

game - nine times he has been in the Fasters final, four times the

champion, winning events now for 19 years. The three-time champion of

I always thought that safety was overrated. You weren't bad at the

safety game. It is intimidating when your opponent is going for

everything. Even Ronnie O'Sullivan, the great

Yeah, well, watching this young player doing this out in the

Masters, one of the biggest event in the game - what is it like

watching him in practice? Definitely wouldn't like to be

practising with him, you wouldn't get many shots - you would be

there. But Ronnie started off with a break of 49, while the black - is

it going to go in? Not quite. Break of 49, didn't split the red -

a little bit unlucky. Judd on 78, he is on fire at the

moment. It is 3-0 to the young He has caught the brown again and

I play nervous, but after I won China, the nerves went, and there

is more enjoyment now. Whereas before, TV - I just enjoy it a lot

kind of sport. And you get on with certain players than others. As

doing, and learn to love the game. Otherwise, there is no point.

And I was under pressure. All credit has to go to Judd. He

performed better than me on the day. You know what he is capable of. He

blows people away from behind. I knew I had to be careful and not

take on anything too stupid and take my chances when they came.

I think when I go one or two frames ahead, I have the confidence to

knock the balls in, to keep scoring over and over again. Today, I did

that the first four frames. Even in the second session, I hardly missed

a ball. So I think that's all part of the confidence.
