around. It is a long road ahead as far as Fulham are concerned. They

are playing some really good football. Spurs will still hang on

to hopes of fourth place. His team are right in this title make 's.

Everything to play for most definitely and you will see how it

all plays out over the next hour with Mark Lawrenson, Michael Owen,

and the Independent's Sam Wallace. And after a good day for Liverpool

yesterday, could they capitalise today and go top of the Premier

League. To the Anfield faithful, Brendan

Rodgers' men are already heroes but super hero status awaits. There is

no doubt we are on the right road to winning a title. We are going to try

and score -- spoiled the party. Steven Gerrard scores. For Spurs to

pull off a shock at Anfield, their talented team will have to

rediscover their special powers. Watching this one, Steve Wilson.

There is definitely something in the Anfield air. Excitements, anxiety,

expectation. Maybe destiny, maybe all of the above. Liverpool have won

all of their last seven games, if they win their next seven, they will

win the Premier League. Manchester City can say the same thing. Spurs

will probably feel if they lose here today than the top four is probably

out of reach. Liverpool make one change which just about edged out

Sunderland in the end. It looks like the midfield diamond has gone in

favour of which and pays. Steven Gerrard is our nine yellow cards,

one booking away from a ban. Sigurdsson, whose last-minute goal

completed the comeback win over Southampton replaces Mousa Dembele

in midfield. Liverpool's shirts say, " seeing is believing". It is a

charitable message. Johnson getting forward. It is an own goal off

Capoue. Liverpool in front inside two minutes. It is the Tottenham

captain with the own goal. The dream start for Brendan Rodgers. First

attack of the game. Tottenham were unfortunate. Through the legs of one

defender and after legs of the other. Tim Sherwood watching from

the director's bop 's. Luis Suarez. Sturridge in the middle. It was just

too high. Only a whisker. Liverpool have now scored 12 more goals in the

first half of their matches bounced Tottenham outscored in all 90

minutes of their matches this season. Agger with the clearance.

Dawson's backpass. Suarez scores! A Liverpool goal entirely of

Tottenham's own making. He has only just come on, Michael Dawson and he

is caught out. Gerrard with the forward ball. Dawson into Kaboul,

needed, maybe what he feared. Tremendous block by skirt tell. --

at his watch and the technology said no goal. This was almost a third.

Tottenham Court in possession. Raheem Sterling, Suarez onto it. It

was a tremendous save. He got some real power on the header. Clearly

not a goal. Tottenham will be hoping to avoid the kind of capitulation

they suffered at the hands of Manchester City, 6-0. 5-1 and 4-0

against Chelsea. It is important they don't end up on the end of a

hammering. Sturridge found Henderson, who missed. Misses the

chance to do the game out of Tottenham's reach. Into the path of

Henderson. He may not have been expecting it but he should have

converted it. Jordan Henderson has had an outstanding season but

goal-scoring is not the top of his list of attributes. He might argue

Raheem Sterling should have put it away himself when he had the chance.

3-0! Philippe Coutinho. Liverpool were aware that at 20-macaro they

would be vulnerable but at 3-0, they will be safe. Big celebration around

Anfield. Surely Liverpool have this one down and six more to go for the

title. This is the 18th time they have scored three goals or more. If

they score a fourth today, it would be a Premier League record, 11 time

a team has scored four or more in a game. Great save by Lloris again.

You have got to give it to the Tottenham keeper. Defensively,

Tottenham have created all manner of trouble for themselves.

Fouled by Townsend. Liverpool free kick. Jordan Henderson to take

this. About six redshirts in there for Liverpool. Driven in, Suarez!

4-0. It might have gone straight in. He has given it to Henderson. Jordan

Henderson will take that, especially after the one he missed earlier. It

is a Premier League record broken. Henderson's free kick. Through the

crowd without anyone getting a touch, it would seem. That was a

chance that shabbily. Daniel Agger with the block. -- Nacer Chadli. Tim

Sherwood watching on. Townsend into Eriksen. Nicolette

with the save. Keeping his clean sheet in tact. It was going in, it

was a good save. The final whistle means Liverpool are top of the

Premier League. Six games to play, six to win, and if they do, no one

can deny them. You know that for the first time, if Liverpool win their

games, you win the league? We will concentrate on the next game, and

the next game is West Ham. Against the top four sides, you have

suffered some heavy defeats, are they getting better in those games

or not? No, it does not appear that way. We have to look at that. It

might be the case these teams are better than us. It looks like they

are, but if you are looking upwards, you need to take points from teams

who are above you. This is probably one of the best squads I have been

involved in. We have some great players and we are getting the job

done. You won the league here, do you make them favourites now? I

don't know about favourites, I think I will so go for Manchester City but

with a strike partnership with the likes of Sterling he was a threat

all afternoon, if they can stop conceding goals, I know they did

today, but it gives them a chance. We have played a number of systems

this season and I am thankful the players have taken on the ideas and

have the flexibility. We have played with a diamond, today we played with

two strikers through the middle and one offset, Sterling, and he was

fantastic. We have flexibility, which is important. That is what we

are trying to develop, not just for one season. Let's concentrate on the

manager and his systems. Do you think, Michael, he is the most tact

to cleave versatile manager in the Premier League? I do, I think he is

fantastic. Certainly in the midfield area. I think there is two things

with Brendan Rodgers I have been bowled over with. The first is

playing two strikers, not many of the modern managers are brave

enough. The ones who are cannot make it work. How he plays Sturridge and

Suarez in the same team, getting the best out of them, both score goals,

both create goals. The other thing is Steven Gerrard. He has been a

phenomenon, he is brilliant. He has almost been too good to play in the

midfield. It is an easy position to play. He has been so good, it is

hard to pin him down into one position. Now he is getting a bit

older, his legs are starting to go a bit, now he can play in that

position for a few years and dictate The Games. That subtlety of bringing

him back in that position has been a masterstroke for me.

He will have learnt from Mourinho as well. Today, there was a subtle

change. It was the most attacking team. Both fullbacks, there were

times today where Steven Gerrard was sometimes playing in the back three.

Michael is right. He has always been a great passer. Now he has loads of

time. He destroys teams. It is the pace, movement, and they score

goals. If there is one criticism, because he was so good, he didn't

have great discipline. People would talk about Lampard and Gerrard could

never play together. With so much going forward, no one wanted to sit

in the holding midfield which takes patients. And sacrifice. Now he has

lost that power of going forward, now it is a breeze. He could play

there for another three years. Having been at Anfield today, did

you sent the crowd believed the momentum is with Liverpool. It is an

amazing time, they have waited so long. You could sense there was

something different. Funnily enough, at the end, with the press

conference, without being asked, he knew the first question would be,

can you now when? Everyone in that stadium was convinced they will win.

The contrast between Brendan Rodgers and Tim Sherwood, in post match

interviews. Rumours have flown around Tim Sherwood was involved in

an instant with a Spurs player. That is my understanding. It will not be

in my newspaper tomorrow. He has been chased by a lot of newspapers.

The other thing to home Sherwood has had criticism for is he spent most

of the game in the directors's box and not the technical area. This was

his explanation. I made the decision to stay up there

today, I would learn a lot more by sitting up there. I didn't think I

could influence it coming down. There was too much of a gap between

the two teams. It was about me learning and using that time for the

future. And to see what needs to be addressed, I learned a lot up there

today. The question is, what will he have learned? A better view. The

defending was inept, from the first minute. The mess they got themselves

in. This is the first thing. You are

Rose, left back, you have to get close. Johnson is at the top of the

screen, we know he will run in and overlap around Stirling. Eriksen

does not want to play left centre midfield. The most simple of goals,

but the Tottenham, that was avoidable. Dawson here. Suarez, he

can't score from there. He shouldn't score from there at all. He does

well, he gets across Dawson. He shouldn't be scoring from that

angle. Right in the corner. This is a self-destruct. Playing from the

back. In the end, a fantastic save. Suarez should have scored. As soon

as he played that ball, Stirling, you know where he is going. Around

the corner. He blows the two defenders away. Henderson couldn't

get the ball in the end. It was simple stuff.

Do you think Tim Sherwood was let down by his players? Sometimes, you

look at a team and you think, they are brave reflection of the manager.

He is fiery, he wants to win. It was chalk and cheese today. The players

were really poor, they didn't put in any effort. Would you provide Tim

Sherwood down? As a manager you get a better view. I would do the first

half in that position, then come down. Protection is a big thing, the

fans want you to be shouting. Second half, he should have come down. If

you are getting beaten, you need to be at the Cole face, and are chasing

players. Lloris was easily the best player. The other ten were shameful.

I wondered what you were going to say, never pause! You spent time

with Tim Sherwood, did you find him a man who is finding this tough? Not

at all. He is happy to have the opportunity. In the media, we blame

managers are not saying what is on their mind, saying the right thing

as opposed to the truth. You can't be completely honest about

everything. I think a lot of other reporters respect the way he doesn't

try, it is as he sees it. No doubt, the headlines in the newspapers, you

can see them here, focusing on Suarez, the same photo. The same

picture in the express newspaper. Next to Craven Cottage, with Everton

trying to keep up the pressure on Arsenal, in the race fourth, and

Fulham just trying stay up. John Motson was at this one.

After last night's drawer, Everton are seven points behind Arsenal in

the battle for fourth place. This is the first of their two games in

hand. Next weekend, they play the Gunners at Goodison Park. As for

Fulham, this is the first of the four remaining home games their

coach says they need to win, to avoid relegation. The others are

against Norwich, Hull and Crystal Palace. Heitinga moves to centre

back. Dembele, no relation to the former Fulham player now at

Tottenham, starts for the first time up front. Everton are unchanged from

the team at Newcastle mid week. Roy Hodgson is back at his old club

presumably keeping an eye on Barkley. Roberto Martinez here,

tilting at European football next season with Everton.

Fulham are in the white shirts and dark shorts. The only victory they

have had in their last 11 games was here against Newcastle. Richardson

for Fulham. Now, John Arne Riise. Richardson couldn't quite make out.

Holtby, on loan from Spurs, actually scored against Fulham earlier in the

season. Fulham have got to be careful, they

have a lot of players committed to attack but it may work for them.

Sidwell went in. Richardson... A corner again. That was a flurry from

Fulham. It could have really gone anywhere. Heitinga, making a run.

And Hangeland as well. It was Kasami who got the last touch. I think the

ball was already out when Kasami put his head to it. You could argue this

is the hardest of the four home games Fulham have got to play. In

this relegation battle. It tends to go to the last day. Holtby, and

there went Dembele again, finding position. Richardson, well found.

Good save by Tim Howard. John Arne Riise. And, away by Barry. Fulham

manoeuvred a good opportunity. On the other hand, on the break, it is

Deulofeu. Goodness, both goalkeepers saving with their feet. There have

been chances. Richardson was set up by Dembele, left foot by Howard.

Sidwell, Rees macro holding the play on the left-hand side. -- Riise. A

decent cross. Holtby, and turned over by Howard. That was as close as

we have come, and it was Holtby for Fulham coming in on the far post, a

good tip over by Howard, not much gets passed in these days. Warming

up towards half-time. Holtby. John Arne Riise. Holtby wants it back in

the middle. And he has got it. It was cold in. And Dembele, that was

an opportunity for the newcomer -- curled in. No, it wasn't offside. A

little bit of encouragement, at half time. The 17-year-old may feel that

could have been his moment. Naismith is on for Everton at the start of

the second half, he has replaced Barkley.

There is a lot at stake at Craven cottage. Stones.

Deulofeu. A challenge by John Arne Riise. This

will be an Everton corner. Lukaku was in there. And it has gone

in! The substitute, Naismith, makes an immediate impact for Everton. He

struck it and somehow it diverted past Stockdale, and Everton have

believed. That came back to Naismith who deliberately hung back at the

edge of the area. His shot was deflected. First of all... Certainly

by and out of place goalkeeper, who must think, oh, dear, it will

probably go down in the end as an own goal. Fulham are in a heap of

trouble. Deulofeu down the centre of the

pitch, taking on John Arne Riise, he has support. He may not need it.

Still Deulofeu. One bad touch. Otherwise he could have been on for

a great individual goal. Lukaku for Everton. Almost finding

their way through, he may still. But his right foot out to block it.

There are a must win games, and must not lose games, this falls into the

latter category. Holtby. Oh, what a goal by did Jack, just

what was needed. The substitute strikes, with 20 minutes to go. The

Rose himself -- himself into the arms of the bench. A stunning moment

in an otherwise fairly ordinary afternoon. He cut inside. And he

beat Tim Howard, what a good effort. Fulham are level. They

Jagger got the winner against Newcastle here, and he has scored

another vital goal. That has changed it.

Did Jagger is full of it at the moment. Nicely to Sidwell. Kasami is

inside him. That is a yellow card for Baines for a foul. 75 minutes

gone at Craven cottage. Is there redemption for Fulham? Heitinga has

gone up. Heitinga! So close. So was Dembele. Goodness.

Johnny Heitinga so nearly put his team in front. Fulham are full of it

at the moment and Dejagah is part of it. The manager had reason to think

Fulham were back in it. Johnny Heitinga almost put them in front.

Kevin morale is. He has scored. Fulham are behind again. Mirallas

just sneaks in on Riise. Tucks it away nicely at the near post. You

bring on as substitute who plays the through ball and the substitute who

came on before him finished it off. Aiden McGeady trying to find

Leighton Baines. That was doing too much. That was a good save by

Stockdale. The flag stayed down. If you are going to blame him for the

first Everton goal, you have two credit him for this. Fulham, looking

hopefully towards staying in the Premier League. Always a purpose

about Everton's football. They have broken away again. That is a tricky

challenge. Naismith! It would not have mattered if it was a penalty or

not because Naismith has put the ball in the back of the net. I

thought there was a call for a penalty just leading up to that. It

won't matter now because Naismith has made it 3-1 to Everton.

Naismith, who has so often come on as a substitute and made an

impression, has done so again. The ball ran on and I am afraid Fulham

are now staring relegation in the face. You have to give huge credit

to the performance of Fulham. They made it difficult and stopped us

from playing. We found it a difficult game. Do you feel now you

are relegated? No, not relegated, but we feel very disappointed. We

played a very good game and everybody wanted to avoid relegation

and it was a very important game today, but we lost. Very

disappointed. Watching the first half, it was a bit flat. When I came

on, the manager wanted me to exploit some pockets in the back for. It was

nice to contribute and score one as well. To get European qualification

would be an incredible achievement for the players. The theme tonight

is where you watch the game from. Steven Naismith saying he saw in the

first half there were pockets of space he could exploit. Hold the

back pages, footballer working out where he can play. He has come on

quite a lot in this season. He came on in the Number ten role, he was

fantastic. When you see him, the amount, this is what he is talking

about. If you play in that position you have got to have an influence.

When the ball comes to you, you have got to do a lot with it. Minimum

amount of touches as well, the majority of the time. Gets a goal as

well, which is important. Suddenly decides to back away from everybody

as if he knew the ball was going to be headed out to him. Got himself a

space. Lovely little ball. Just keeping the move going and flowing.

Talking about space again. What a fantastic ball. Sensational. Nathan

Baines should have done better with that. In the second half, his

movement always, he read the game. He should probably have scored

there. Should Fulham have cottoned on to how he was finding the space?

In the second half, they could not cottoned on to anything, they look

like a team that is about to be relegated. Look at the. If you want

somebody to come on as a substitute and be involved in the game and

direct the game, that was the performance. From a striker's point

of view, you were impressed with Mirallas? Yes, I thought his was the

pick of the goals. You have McGeady at the top. It was a long kick from

Tim Howard. As a player you are looking at a few things. Sequence of

thoughts going through your head. How can I make the path easier for

my team-mate, is the main thing. Obviously you have Dejagah who is

filling in a left back position. Then you see Mirallas taking a

glance at Dejagah. Obviously he wants to stick as close as possible

to give Aiden McGeady that lovely colour door, the channel to play the

ball into. When he does, it has got to come with pace. The first touch,

it is absolutely exquisite. I thought the finish was sensational

as well, but when you look at it from that angle, it does get a bit

of a deflection. He deserves the credit for his work leading up to

it? He has slowed his rundown to offer the space in front and all it

needed was a strong pass from Aiden McGeady, which he got. The manager

needs lots of praise, Berkeley has an injury so he has put Naismith and

and they have won the game. We have had a good season for enjoying

English talent. We have seen another one today? Definitely. He has a few

rave reviews from the Evertonians. Signed him from Barnsley. Dominic

been right back. He can come out and play. Makes a mistake here, but he

has got pace. If he does make a mistake, he can recover. Great on

the ball, looks very comfortable. A fantastic pass. This is the thing,

he came out from centre back. Joins in the play. AIK can show you about

ten incidents like this. When you get a player who comes out from the

back and commits the opposition midfield, makes it easier. And has

the confidence to keep going? He looks a real find. You have been

trying to find a pattern to Fulham's team selections? Dembele,

who has caught people 's eye, and he has been talked about being another

good player. When you think about to when he took over, Tunnicliffe

played at Old Trafford, and then was shipped out almost immediately.

Today he threw in a lot of Young players in. Seems to be another

change of strategy. Fulham fans were calling for some of their Young

academy players to be brought in. There is an interesting thing going

on with Fulham. For me, they are going to go down. A bit like

Southampton a few years ago, Fulham have a few good players in their

youth team. They have some good players in the academy. When

Southampton went down, all these players, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gareth

Dale, Walcott, came through the championship and in Division 1. So

going down might actually in a perverse type of way improve them.

These Young kids will be given a better grounding and maybe they can

come up and have a team like Southampton? On a land -- lighter

note, do you think Dejagah's nickname is Mick? Oh dear. It just

came to me. This is the football coming on after us.

Two of yesterday's games have helped make this a very good weekend for

Liverpool. London derbies have not presented

too much of a problem for Chelsea this season and this was first

against 17th in the table. But Palace under Pulis are no pushover

especially at Selhurst Park. It is in, it is an own goal. Crystal

Palace are ahead against the league leaders through an own goal.

Brilliant save, what a save. It is a save that could keep Crystal Palace

in the Premier League. That is one of the most important saves of the

season. Cameron Jerome. It opposed. A team battling against 2-0 up

against the league leaders. That is a terrible ball. Torres! He has

lifted it over. He had options to get it away downfield. And the Young

man very Nellie gave Torres an equaliser.

Jose Mourinho had already conceded the title before Arsenal and

Manchester City took the field. A huge opportunity for both at the

Emirates. Off the post, the rebound is put in.

Silva has scored and Manchester City have the lead. Silva started it,

Silva finishes it. The goalkeeper lost it, but it rolled wide.

It is in! Turned then that the equaliser by Flamini.

It is all Arsenal. Blocked by Hart. So close was Lukas Podolski.

Let's start with Chelsea. I you surprised Jose Mourinho has been so

honest about his players and the title race? It fits in with his

narrative. This is a team that is different to the one he took over

from first time round. It is a side he needs to mould, it is younger.

What it comes down to is the strikers. He has not had the goals

from his strikers he would normally have. That was the comment he made

which was recorded by the French broadcasters. That is probably the

most pertinent analysis of Chelsea. But he comes out and says some of

his players don't have courage, Tim Sherwood did that a month ago and

all hell broke loose. It is Jose Mourinho isn't it? He has had

chances to buy strikers. Aston Villa fans won't be happy with me saying

it but I can't believe how an Arsenal, a Chelsea, didn't get

Benteke, a powerful striker. Young, hungry, he wanted to leave Aston

Villa by all accounts. He was waiting. You can only blame the

managers in question, they had the opportunity. Aston Villa fans won't

thank you for that. They are probably not thanking him at this

moment. As you have come dressed as a Manchester City player, I assume

you think they are still favourites? I do.

And here are the rest of yesterday's games.

Football matches don't come much better than this. But, in the final

analysis, only a point gained when both these teams could do with all

three. Amalfitano. The goalkeeper is off

his line. And Marshall is beaten. Amalfitano, with a moment of

improvisation, and sheer genius. So many Cardiff bodies are back, the

flag is down. Dorrans. Inside nine minutes. What a start from the home

team. Cardiff are searching for the lift

they badly need. Foster is caught out. Jordon Mutch. And Cardiff have

one back. In bizarre and extraordinary circumstances. Medel

with the free kick, Cork got his head to it. And he had equalised.

Caulker, the captain, steps up to the plate again.

Berahino kept it hidden. A deflected cross. Bifouma. West Brom have won

it right at the death. It is a big goal for West Brom. That is a very

hard one further Cardiff and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to take. Berahino,

Sessegnon and Bifouma. A disappointing ball from Berahino.

The final few seconds. This is an extraordinary game. It has gone

right to the death. Zaha. All the way through. Turner. Daehli! Would

you believe it? With the last kick of the match, the Norwegian

youngster has equalised for Cardiff. Absolutely extraordinary.

This was a big match. The winner might just be able to start planning

for life in the Premier League next season.

De Guzman, on towards Shelvey, definitely onside. Michu, Routledge,

all waiting. Bony almost got there. And the Guzman. 1-0, Swansea! Did

Guzman, with his third Premier League goal of the campaign.

De Guzman. Now, Bony, on towards the Guzman. Brilliant, a tremendous

goal. You have to sit back and admire that. And Swansea are

beginning to say to everyone in the Premier League that we are staying

among the elite for another season. Shelvey, Bony. On towards Shelvey.

Routledge continues his run forward. Played in by Shelvey, and

he scores. That finishes it off. Another really good goal.

Maybe they should fly a banner over Old Trafford every week? Because

this was a spirited performance from Manchester United that finally gave

the home fans something to cheer. Everybody in red back inside the

Manchester United penalty area. Westwood. And it is a beautiful free

kick. Aston Villa lead here, inside 13 minutes. Rafael has popped up

alongside Wayne Rooney. Wayne Rooney, 1-1! They are back inside

the game -- in the game. Wayne Rooney again who delivers for

Manchester United. Kagawa. The timing of the movement is key. Juan

Mata. It is a penalty. And a chance for Wayne Rooney to score his second

goal of the match. It is a double at Old Trafford. To give Manchester

United the lead here. Juan Mata. Westwood swinging his

legs. Fellaini. There could be a chance. Juan Mata, his first goal

for Manchester United. And it gives them a little bit of breathing

space. 12 minutes into the second half.

A lovely touch by Januzaj. Delph sliding in. And it is 4, Javier

Fernandez complete the job. Manchester United survived an early

scare, to come back and win, with room to spare.

So poor were Newcastle, so good were Southampton, that this was barely a

contest at St Mary's. But it was another good audition for Saints'

World Cup hopefuls. The fourth official about to show us

how much additional time there is. The flag stays down. Rodriguez! Set

up by Rickie Lambert. Southampton finally find a way past Rob Elliott.

Lallana. Taking on the defender. Rickie Lambert makes it 2-0. Goal

number 11 of the season for him. A comfortable finish from the England

Ramirez. -- Then Lallana. He didn't need anyone in support. Rodriguez,

with his second of the afternoon. And Southampton's fourth. It is as

comprehensive a victory as you are likely to see.

It always looked like being tight at the Britannia, the sort of match

where a moment of brilliance, or a catastrophic error, would be

decisive. A chance, Odemwingie through the

middle, and he scores. Deadlock is broken, Odemwingie scores the Stoke,

for the third game running. Given away by Elmohamady. And Odemwingie

did the rest. Cardiff have given themselves a

chance. That would have been a big swing if West Brom had one. They

have given themselves more of a chance. A slim chance. But I think

they are down. Not being disrespectful to Ole Gunnar

Solskjaer. Note obvious experience in the Premier League. It is almost

impossible to keep them up. Let me rephrase that question another way,

West Brom could have got themselves out of a mess if they had not

conceded that late goal. They scored a late goal themselves.

You get yourself high thinking you have won the game. Berahino, maybe

it is in experience. It may be cost the side two points. There is a

common thread. Steve Clarke, I think they were third. The way some of the

clubs have been run, it is a joke. Do you think the banner at Old

Trafford did David Moyes a favour? He came at three minutes before the

teams came out, which gave the fans inside a chance to show how they

feel. I have a problem with that. It is hard. The only opinion you

represent is your own. It is hard to take the mood of a whole stadium.

You have to put your identity to it, you have to confront your own fellow

supporters. That banner had no name. No one is holding it. That was

the issue I had. David Moyes did the dignified thing. I thought he nailed

it before the game, he walked past the teams. He fronted it up and
