today's three games, we've also got Save of the Season,

Saturday's action, Leicester's title party

First stop is the Etihad, as Manchester City took on Arsenal.

Mowbray. COMMENTATOR: When the biggest prize

has gone, the third or fourth place play-off can be a massive

anti-climax, but none as great a prospect as dropping out of the top

four altogether, that should spur Manchester City and Arsenal on. With

two changes made from the team that started but never got going in

Madrid, this is their line-up today. Eliaquim Mangala is in for injured

captain Vincent Kompany, who is out of the Euros too. Add a start for

Kelechi Iheanacho, who has scored twice in the last two Premier League

games. A couple of differences for Arsenal, Gabrielle for their injured

win their final two games to make sure of being in the top four. Now

time. It's Manuel Pellegrini's final home game after three seasons in

You wonder where this Manchester City intensity was midweek at the

Seven and a half minutes in, seven and a half minutes of nonstop

Manchester City dominance is rewarded. Aguero has now scored in

half a dozen Premier League appearances in a row. That was

squeezed in to the only place that Petr Cech wouldn't reach it.

knocked it back past his keeper! And only just past the post. Heart

stopping moment for Gael Clichy, and for England's Joe Hart too. A

strange of the bounce -- strange bounce of the ball seemed to put Joe

Hart off. That one off the post! It is in. Arsenal are a plus first

attack of the game and they are level. That's as easy as you like.

Hart beaten by a header from his own player. That ad Giroud, he had got

away from Mangala. Giroud got away again to make you simply backed away

into the space into which the ball was arriving. He ends a run of 15

Premier League games, nine of those have been the without a goal. --

nine of those have been from the start, without a goal. Good tackle

by Aaron Ramsey. De Bruyne. Aguero, only just entering the

penalty area now. He had left Iheanacho and Navas to it initially.

That is a nice bit of play from Fernando, Aguero! Deflected over the

bar. Last-ditch slide at Aguero's feat by Laurent Koscielny is what

made the difference for Arsenal. A bit of fortune from Fernando to find

Aguero. It wasn't Koscielny's block, it was the one that went absolutely

full-length, but it is Bellerin behind him. It was Gabriel behind

him who stopped it. Pellegrini has never seemed to have too much luck

against Arsenal. Arsenal are unbeaten in the last five meetings.

Sagna, challenged by Welbeck but not unfairly. It is an Arsenal throw in.

Welbeck now down on his knees, that's a worrying sign for not only

Arsenal supporters but those who will be wanting to see him play for

England in the summer, maybe. A shake of the head is not very

encouraging either. He went in to try to block tackle Sagna and met a

knee. His game is done but let's hope for Danny Welbeck's sake that

his summer isn't. That's a good tackle, another forceful run too

from Fernando. Here is Aguero! Cech comes out, came rushing out will

stop Aguero kept his feet, beautiful turn away from Koscielny! Navas!

Over the top. Might be worth another look at Petr Cech here. That's a

cracking tackle from Fernando. I wonder what this one was like when

we see it again from Cech. I think Cech gets there just in time. He

actually did himself more damage than Aguero in the end. A city win

today will move them ahead of Arsenal in the table on goal

difference. Didn't know where it was for a

second, de Bruyne. Does well to recover and keep Bellerin at bay,

and shoot! And he has beaten Cech as well! Super goal scored by Kevin de

Bruyne to give City the lead again. Again it's one that squeezed in,

past the hands of Cech, who will maybe feel that he could have got

down to that a bit more smartly. It was a study in persistence first

from Kevin de Bruyne. Holds off the challenge, drifts into the shooting

space, still precious little on him but somehow he scores. Cech did seem

to be a little sluggish. It's a goal for Manuel Pellegrini to cheer, it's

a goal for the Etihad Stadium to celebrate. Manchester City 2-1

Arsenal. Navas, the Iheanacho. Iheanacho to continue. Navas wants

it, and Iheanacho should have given him it. Either him or Aguero to his

left. The one option that was never really on was ploughing through the

middle alone. To be honest, from that moment, he never really looked

in any mind to do anything else. Manchester City have only dropped

points in two Premier League games in which they've been in the lead

this season. Elneny, Walcott in for Arsenal Mac wrecks Hart out to meet

him and he forces Walcott to lift it over and wide, but certainly a

positive difference being over and wide, but certainly a

that substitution, Theo Walcott into the action and good goalkeeping from

Hart, he was alive to that. Wilshere court after he had got rid

of the ball. Sanchez on sit once more! There is

Arsenal Mac plus equaliser! For the second time in the game. They have

just upped it a bit in the last few minutes and they've got their reward

for it. It was a collision between Wilshere and Fernandinho.

Fernandinho is struggling, he can't get there in time and it's a

brilliant bit of play from Giroud delay it back into the path of

Alexis Sanchez. He can see which way Hart is moving he knows exactly

where he's going to put it, and he delivers for Arsenal. Six goals in

his last seven appearances. From Manchester City leading, Arsenal

have equalised once more. Contrary to conspiracy theory going around,

I'm sure that Manuel Pellegrini will want to leave his successor in the

Champions League. De Bruyne, lifted back to Aguero! Just wide. Brilliant

play between City's two test players this season. Sergio Aguero, best

player for a few seasons, and Kevin de Bruyne. What a lift back to

Aguero that was. He will think he should have hit the target. The need

for him to score another one, though, is pressing. Now the ball

into Wilfried Bony! He couldn't have met that much better. The bar is

still shaking. Clichy, looking for Wilfried Bony again, who attacks it,

and that will be a goal kick. Well, this is a cracking cross. Bony, with

a swing of the leg, had Cech well beaten with that. Manchester United

with a win at West Ham on Tuesday night could go above City with one

game left. Don't leave me this way might be the Manchester City message

to Manuel Pellegrini. The first 45 minutes was one of the

best of the season. I didn't have any doubt we were going to win, but

football has this thing, set pieces, they equalised to score. After that,

they draw also. they equalised to score. After that,

header because we still have one game remaining, we have to try to

win the game and see what United is going to do. It was a game that was

very intense. It looked like the Man City squad wanted to give a big

very intense. It looked like the Man presence to Manuel Pellegrini as

well. It was an unbelievable fight today and it was maybe not the most

fluent game, but the most intense we have played for a while in the

Premier League. This year has have played for a while in the

disappointing for us. We wanted to win the league and then we wanted to

finish second if not but everyone knows what it's like, being a

qualifier, you can't really enjoy the preseason. You have that big

game at the end and it defines your season. If we can get that we will

be delighted. Champions League qualification is back in your own

hands. How important was that going into the last game? It is important

for us because I believe responsible people prepare their future and our

future is next season and that's when you show you have character and

they are responsible men. Let's start with Manchester City, they

needed a response I suppose after what happened in midweek in Madrid

and Manuel Pellegrini, as we heard him say there, he thought it was one

of their best 45 minutes of the season at the Etihad. I think I have

to agree with him. When you have a big disappointment in the game the

next one is really important and you need one or two people to take the

bull by the horns and set the tone and the tempo, and Fernandinho did

that today. He was really infectious. He found the energy and

the desire to really get after Arsenal and we see here really in

the game winning the ball back off Welbeck, nice and strong. When you

have someone like that in your team and he does that lots for them to be

honest, others follow. His partner in crime as well, Fernando, was

really good. This is Fernandinho, in the first five or six minutes. Navas

follows him and Arsenal give the ball away. They couldn't get out for

long periods in the first half, they completely dominated them and they

looked strong and powerful. Fernandinho gives the ball away, his

reaction straightaways to win it back and he gets himself in the box.

A little deft header to acquire Rowe, who does this so often, a

super finish. And they really deserved it. Everyone was at it,

Otamendi winning a tackle by, Fernando follows him, winning the

ball back. Really quickly. I've not seen City play with this intensity

for a long time. The question over them is why they haven't done it

more often in these games. Again, three players around ball. A super

tackle from Fernando and Jack Wilson. Off he goes on another

attack. Fernandinho will be a part, a big part, for Guedioura, yes? I'd

be amazed if he wasn't in his mid field because he is exactly what

Guedioura likes, he gets about, he tackles and he can play. Yet there

were negative for City aren't they can highlight the positives for

Arsenal? City don't make the top four this season it will be because

of the way they have defended throughout the whole year and today

really highlighted that. A great start to the game, high pressing,

just simple moments like this within the game, where you're expecting

your back for centre halves to stand up, I have highlighted Mangala, he

completely misreads the flight of the ball. Giroud doesn't really do

much in terms of movement, sticks it away, a lovely header from him. You

are expecting your centre-half to win that and when you have worked so

hard, that's what you do it for, to stay 1-0 up, but fair play to

Arsenal. You mentioned it was a tough game for them and they've been

criticised as having a soft centre but they stood strong today and this

little move they put together here was brilliant from Sanchez. Look at

it from Manchester City's point of view, we've highlighted Fernando, he

gets sucked in at this point here, as a midfielder wants you sense that

1-2 is played around you you need to get your arm out and block the run

of Sanchez but he doesn't and that touch from Giroud is brilliant. They

are odd, the two sides, in the sense that Manchester City have been

accused of being flat track bullies and the stats sort of back it up in

the fact they haven't won a match against any of their top five rivals

this season and have only one of 14 games against the current top eight,

in Southampton, and Arsenal, their resilience, their problem comes

against the so-called smaller clubs, normally at home. Yes, it's

fascinating to look at the different aspects of both sides. I would

suggest that players from both sides have to have a look at themselves

because there's been too many games, irrelevant of wear, home or away, or

what the circumstances are, where they haven't turned up. When they

both play with that intensity and desire, not just to play good

football but to stay in a game and battle, they would both be a much

better positions. It was a tough game for Arsenal today and they

usually lord it because of the way they put the ball around, they were

overrun at times, especially in midfield areas but they stuck up

their task, based stuck at it and eventually got the rewards. On the

race for the top four, all big clubs want to be the Champions League.

With Manchester City weren't next season, bearing in mind the money is

all right for City, they could cope and they have Pep Guardiola who will

attract great players, it be disastrous if they weren't in the

Champions League? No, I don't think so because players will want to play

for Pep Guardiola and every player they sign I imagine will think it

will lead -- it will only be for one season, I'd be amazed if it wasn't.

Even though it's disappointing and the fans lose the excitement of the

big teams coming, it's not a disaster. From an England point of

view, with the Euros coming up, the negative is that Danny Welbeck

picked up an injury, Arsene Wenger says it looks like a knee cartilage

injury. If that was the case, he could miss the euros? It was nasty,

his knee goes in on him once he makes the challenge. If he does miss

the Euros, this would be one of the big ones that Roy would be

absolutely devastated about because he is a starter for England and he

is a huge part of the way they play, with his intensity and power and his

running. It's a big loss. It did leave an opportunity for Jack Wilson

to come on the pitch earlier and maybe -- earlier than expected and

did some positive things in the game, he is so neat and tidy and has

that ability with the ball to get out of tricky situations. He has

things that no other midfielder in our squad has as is, for me. This,

here, taking it on the half term, looking to go forward, past people

in a split-second, right through the heart of them, he's the only

midfielder... Not Henderson, Milner, Drinkwater... None of them have his

natural ability to go past people and be positive with the ball as

often as he does. He has that X Factor, that is why Roy will take a

risk with him. Time for you to choose

Next, Spurs - looking to put their title disappointment

behind them against in-form Southampton.

Tottenham Hotspur trying to look on the bright side of life. By tonight

they could have been assured of a Premier League's runners-up spot,

their highest ever Premier League Premier League's runners-up spot,

points and goal tallies and most of all guaranteed finishing above

Arsenal for the first time since 1995. But no Dele Alli and no Mousa

Dembele, after his six-game ban, Ryan Mason comes into the Tottenham

team for almost certainly the last game at White Hart Lane its current

form, building work on the adjacent new stadium will require a reduced

capacity here next season. Southampton are intent on securing a

row Europa League place. They stick with the side that beat Manchester

City and are hoping for a first top six finish since 1985.

In some quarters it's been dubbed the battle of the bridge, the title

that got away from Tottenham. Rose in behind

that got away from Tottenham. Rose Eriksen, a brilliant save by

Forster. Magnificent piece of goalkeeping. Lovely ball to Rose,

who took it on his chest and away from Martina. Excellent into

Eriksen, who hit it sweetly. The Southampton stopper got down so

quickly. Mousa Dembele having to watch on from the sidelines. He will

miss the first four matches of next season, domestic matches anyway.

Bertrand, Tadic wants it, Bert Rand to Mane. A lovely change of

direction, now it's Tadic. Could have put it out of play for Davies

and Davies is incensed with Tadic. It's beautifully played, to get

Tadic in, but if he just looks up and knocked it

Alderweireld forward to Son Heung-min. Do Lamela. Son Heung-min

is still chasing it and he has skipped around the keeper and put it

Well, the big prize may have eluded them but this has been a great

Tottenham Hotspur season. Their best ever in the Premier League. Their

fans are right to applaud their side. The next season for Mauricio

quickly, twisting and turning and almost losing out to Mane. Still

Rose twisting and turning at first to good effect, and then turned back

on himself and into trouble. Now look at his arm, and there. That

could easily have been a Southampton penalty. Eriksen, and Lamela, and

Eriksen! Well, he could have gone on again to Son. If it had, the South

Korean might have had another one. Nicely played here. Lamela into

Eriksen, but Son was calling for it to his left hand side and was

ignored. After an hour played, Tottenham 1-0 Southampton. -- half

Tottenham problems right from the off. Tadic did really well and Davis

squirmed it under Lloris. Lloris will be disappointed, of course. But

it's a goal Southampton have been threatening. Spurs 1-1 Southampton.

He would be pretty happy if Southampton could take a point here.

Spurs haven't finished in the top three in the Premier League, or the

top-flight, since 1990, that predates the Premier League of

course. They haven't finished second in the top-flight since 1963. Jose

Fonte covering, but not doing his job! Harry Kane! Fraser Forster did

enough, and pats around the rebound from Eriksen. Similar in some ways

to the goal which Son scored. The Mela is desperate for it! And to be

honest he was the better option. -- Lamela. The pace of Mane, Long is

tallied today. Nicely worked. And the finish just showing that it

doesn't need to be the hardest shot if it's in the right place. Lloris

could not get there. Nice little 1-2. Got it out onto his right foot

and it's right in the corner and its Tottenham 1-2 Southampton. The

Southampton fans will certainly enjoy putting one over their former

manager. Free kick Spurs. Fonte not impressed. Well, if they are going

to get a point out of this, Spurs, they need to do it now. Eriksen's

delivery! It could go anywhere! Fraser Forster with the save to deny

Chadli right at the end. Really dangerous ball in, ricocheted kindly

for Chadli. He must have thought he was going to score. And Southampton

have three very, very important points. A disappointing rare home

defeat for Tottenham Hotspur. It finishes Tottenham Hotspur one,

Southampton two. A great win for us, because to win here against

Tottenham, in my opinion one of the best teams in the Premier League,

that's a big result. When you lose the game, obviously we feel

disappointed. But like the whole season, I think that we were the

better team and we created chances and we managed the game, but in the

end we conceded the only two shots on target. Today really is Steven

Davis's day. He scored as many goals today as he had in the rest of the

season! Yeah. He had a massive game today. His productivity today was

the difference. You've beaten Pochettino today. He did great

things for Southampton but Ronald Koeman has come in over his two

years and picked up that pattern and improved on it. Yes, it has been

great working with such good managers, Pochettino as well. You

see how strong we have been in the last couple of years, even losing

some great players last summer. Hopefully the signs are good that we

can keep this squad together and get ready to go again. It's been a great

season and he will break just about every Premier League record that

this club has had, but the big one for the fans is that they will want

to finish above Arsenal. This is the big problem. We need to see

ourselves, not to look what happened with other teams. We need to think

like a big club. Not to be worried what happens in another house. And

this is a big thing, to change the mentality. We need to be strong and

this is what we need to be a big, big club. As two former Spurs

midfielder is, big club. As two former Spurs

stop worrying about Arsenal? 100%. I love hearing that from him, to be

honest. In my time know their ambitions were always to

reach the top four. That was what was always driven into

occasions throughout the game. How Tadic doesn't pick him out there, I

don't know. That Tadic doesn't pick him out there, I

one of three of his goals that he could have scored. He's got himself

into little positions in the could have scored. He's got himself

earlier. He makes good runs off the ball. He's just very calm,

earlier. He makes good runs off the his men at the right times, good

weight past, gets himself into the box. Very unlucky not to get on the

weight past, gets himself into the end of that one. Even in defensive

areas of the park committee doesn't panic. Truman said that his

experience and composure is important to them. -- Ronald Koeman

and I think he is invaluable to the team. The composure he shows, the

technical awareness, but he should probably do better with the finished

-- but he should Robbie do better there but it's a fantastic finish

and he will be going into the Euros there but it's a fantastic finish

with a spring in his step. Probably because of Leicester or because the

media in general tend to be observed with the big five or six,

Southampton have definitely not got the credit they deserve this season.

In 2016, only Leicester have won more Premier League points. They've

beaten every team in the Premier League at least once under Ronald

Koeman and they have matched their best ever points tally, from last

season. What's more incredible about that is the turnover of players that

happened last summer. The recruitment, that he must be

involved with, is brilliant. The way they play football is a joy to

watch. Steven Davis benefits from the manager's philosophy on

football, they are all brave on the ball. I think you're right, he

hasn't quite got the prominence he's deserved, because of Leicester and

Tottenham doing so well. Back to Spurs and their two centre halves

who been great defensively all season, but you like them from an

attacking perspective as well? Yes, Jermaine and I were talking during

the game about how great they are with the midfielders, it helps so

much knowing that you have got players with such great passing

ability. Yes they can defend, they've proved that. That's the type

of passing you expect from someone like... Me!

LAUGHTER I can think of anyone else! But look

at that, awareness of space. Southampton trying to press, Son is

in the gap he finds him. When you start realising he's always going to

find them, they start taking up better chances, better positions.

This was a super finish, by the way. Every time they play out from the

back, they end up with a chance. Can Vertonghen do it? Of course he can.

Nice balance with the left foot, give him the eyes, there you go.

Again, Son in the same position, getting them on the attack. When

they get into the final third it leads to another chance, this time

for Harry Kane. One area of the pitch they won't be looking at in

the summer is centre-backs. They really are two very, very good

footballers. Another good ball there. The Belgian national team is

going to benefit from these two in the Euros, especially now Vincent

Kompany has been injured. As he goes higher up the pitch, can he play a

more killer pass into the box? Yes he can. That's with his left foot.

It's no coincidence he was given Tottenham Player of the Year today

after the game. He's a super player and a condiment each other stop.

Does the left right, nation help? It really helps when they're good

players but if you look at the national team we've all got three

centre halves who prefer to play on the right hand side. It does cause a

problem. I think none of those, any of those three players are suited to

know how to play different styles with different players and Benteke

just hasn't been given the opportunity really. This is good
