After an eventful week in the East Midlands,

highlights from Leicester v Liverpool on the way,

plus Tottenham against Stoke and all of Saturday's goals.

Leicester - who sacked Claudio Ranieri on Thursday -

began the night in the relegation zone.

With the Italian's empire showing cracks all season,

it finally crumbled over the last four weeks.

Lester's sorry defence of their Premier League title continues to

underwhelm. At this moment, everything is wrong against us.

Trouble mounting on Claudio Ranieri at Leicester. More misery for the

champions. Cloudy and Ranieri has been given a vote of confidence by

the club today. -- Claudio Ranieri. What a goal from Gray!

Swansea dropped Leicester right into the mire. Millwall take a hat-trick

of Premier League scalps, this time the champions. Leicester City,

through Jamie Vardy, have hope. Champions, Leicester City have

sacked their manager Claudio Ranieri.

COMMENTATOR: This time last year, Leicester worth ten points clear at

the top. Now they are in the bottom three and without a manager. Life

isn't about to get any easier against a Liverpool side aiming to

go third in the table, playing for the first time in just over a

fortnight. One change to the side that started

in Seville last Wednesday in the Champions League. Okazaki starts.

Leonardo Ulloa, who on ago said he would never play for the club again,

is named amongst the substitutes -- who one month ago. Henderson

suffering. Emre Can replaces him in midfield. Other than that, the same

team that beat Tottenham last time. Lucas continues in central defence

with Dejan Lovren injured. That is the sentiment from those in the

crowd tonight at the King Power Stadium. The man who was Claudio

Ranieri's assistant has stepped up to take charge of the team, Craig

Shakespeare. He's seen it all in recent times having worked with

Nigel Pearson before the Italian. He now takes on Liverpool. Leicester

looking to up their game in every sense of the world. Without a goal

in 2017 in the Premier League never mind a victory. And won since New

Year's Eve. -- they haven't won since.

Shakespeare, sailing, head of the game got me was looking to evoke the

spirit of the great escape. The players have started really well.

Vardy could be in. Mignolet makes the save. Headed away. Vardy left

frustrated. It all came from the long ball from Kasper Schmeichel.

In terms of intensity, chalk and cheese compared to the last Premier

League performance against Swansea. Given away by Wijnaldum, straight

into Jamie Vardy. Clean through. Great chance. 1-0, Leicester! Vardy

was all business as he ran onto the ball. There was never any doubt

where it was going to end up. Slammed into the back of Mignolet's

net. The ball given away in midfield by Wijnaldum. Cracking first-time

pass. Clean through. Leicester 1-0 Liverpool. Suddenly, the mood, the

doom and gloom, has lifted around the stadium. Leicester City have

their first goal in 2017 in the Premier League. Having ended his

nine match barren run, Jamie Vardy on target in Europe and in the

Premier League. Matip finding Lallana. Mane. Liverpool looking for

a quick response. Wijnaldum sliding it through. It could be a chance.

Coutinho. A fine block by Kasper Schmeichel. A good stop by

Leicester's goalkeeper with Liverpool threatening to get back on

level terms. A vital stop. There as dad, watching on. What a keeper he

was! -- there is dad. Scuffed clearance from Matip. A

challenge by Clyne. Ndidi getting up well. Albrighton.

Headed away by Milner. As far as Drinkwater. What a goal! Fantastic

strike from Danny Drinkwater. What a finish. Just look at this.

Ndidi initially getting up quite well. Albrighton with the cross.

Headed away by James Milner. First-time. He absolutely leathered

that home. Mignolet not within a mile of it. Like a missile.

Leicester 2-0 Liverpool. Danny Drinkwater has scored his first goal

of the season. I'm sure he will have plenty to say in a couple of minutes

when he gets the players back in the dressing room. Milner. Lallana.

Emre Can teeing it up. Fingertip save by Schmeichel. APPLAUSE

He couldn't take any chances. Good save. So far, so good for the

caretaker. Liverpool are going to have to

produce a dramatically improved second-half performance if they are

going to get anything here. Nathaniel Clyne has a bit of space.

Firmino ahead of him, Mane on the near side. Lallana well forward.

Milner on the edge of the box. In towards Milner. A shot from

Coutinho. A sharp save from Schmeichel.

Ndidi intercepts. Albrighton sends Vardy away. It fizzes over the top

of Emre Can's head. Okazaki into the centre. Mahrez will keep it in.

Lovely interchange between the pair of them. Superb play. What a lovely

goal! It's absolutely brilliant from Leicester City. Shades of a year

ago. Finished off by Vardy. Beautifully created on the near

side. It's very hard to see Liverpool coming back from this.

Mahrez keeping the ball in play. They worked it well. The cross was

precise. Vardy's finish was out of reach. Its turning into quite a

night for Leicester City. Three goals would seemingly have them

heading for three points which would lift them out of the bottom three.

And up into 15th place in the table. This has not gone according to plan

at all from Liverpool's point of view. Mane.

since the 2nd of January against Middlesbrough. He's been in fine

form so far this evening. Claudio Ranieri's name echoes around the

stadium. As the Leicester City fans pay their respects to the man who

was in charge when they won the championship last May.

Midway through the second half, Liverpool are going to mount some

sort of comeback. They need to start pretty quickly. Emre Can's done well

here. Coutinho! Liverpool are on the board. He walks through there and

walked it home. Leicester 3-1 Liverpool. We at the midway point of

the second half. Emre Can created it and Coutinho coolly finished.

Lucas just getting their ahead of Vardy that here comes Riyadh Mahrez.

He's away from his man. It's Mahrez. Still going. Drinkwater! APPLAUSE

Not far from a fourth. Liverpool chase the game and the more that

happens, the more chances appear for Leicester City.

Firmino. Finding a bit of space. The shots just came off the fingertips

of Schmeichel! Luckily for him it went wide of the post this is how

close Liverpool went. To a second goal.

After all the turbulence of recent days following the sacking of

Claudio Ranieri, you have to say Leicester City looks like a

completely different team tonight. This was likely side we saw last

season, the side that lifted the title. They've seen off Liverpool

and they did it with two goals from Jamie Vardy and a piledriver from

Danny Drinkwater. Leicester City, three points in the bag, are out of

the bottom three. Crisis, what crisis?

A big night for you and Leicester City as a whole. Couldn't have gone

much better, the way the team performed and the crowd reacted?

Yeah, from the word go, you could see the intensity and the passion

was there. We had a great start and all credit to the fans, they got

behind the team early doors. There was a bit of a worry from some

quarters how they would react to the criticism that's been levelled at

the players of the last few days. Fair play to them, they got behind

them from the word go. A nice touch from the crowd, on 65 minutes

towards Claudio It was lovely, they were excellent tonight because they

got behind the team from the start but played respect to Claudio

Ranieri. If ever there was a night to help each other it was night and

it showed. Simple things you learn, pass, move, talk. As a young player

you learn it. Stick with it. It was always going to be tough but we

showed what we are capable of. That wasn't what you had in mind tonight

but what are your thoughts on the performance?

Yes. A bad start. Bad in the middle. And bad at the end, if you want.

Yes, we had a few, a little bit better than average moments. But

most of the situations were not even average. With our targets, our

quality and skills, we need to perform better. You could lose

football games because of bad luck and things, referee decisions or

something but you have got to deliver and we did not, again. Did

you feel a bit stunned about some of the things that had been said and

accusations made in recent days? I think there has been a lot of unfair

stuff written lately and the reaction from everyone, not me

personally but most of the squad. It has got us fired up in a good way to

put the reaction on the pitch which we have done. We've got the three

points and look forward to the next game on Saturday. Was it like

watching the lustre of last season? It was, we have hardly seen that

team all season. Best in every department tonight. Liverpool could

not live with them. They flew out of the blocks as Jamie Bardy and drink

water but said. As if they had a point to prove. Probably to the

media more than anything else. They played like champions tonight. They

had been like pussycats since the start of the season and they were

like Tigers. It was all there tonight, the workrate, the pressure

they put Liverpool under. The first 15 minutes, Liverpool could hardly

get out of the box. It was a transformation in their performance.

And between the years, basically. They want it. They

might have thought they were trying for their previous manager but not

compared to what we have seen tonight. Jamie Vardy particularly at

the top of the team, every single one of them first to the ball,

carrying Liverpool in possession and just too strong. It was just

everywhere, good contact, they were quite brilliant. Look at the central

defender again. Back to his best. Morgan alongside him as well #FUL

LSTOP Christian Fuchs was like a machine, the tackles he made. And

that energy served them well. They made 31 tackles tonight, the most in

the Premier League game this season. Was 23 tackles this season last

season, 16 this everything on one but you cannot judge everything on

one I suppose I'm saying you that for the previous manager, or it is

because the previouswhy did they not do that for the previous manager, or

it is because the previous manager has gone while. They were saying

tonight but that performance that it is about the manager we all thought

from the outside but it was a collective thing and maybe it was.

But tonight their necks from the line, they vindicated the owners

getting rid of the manager and leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

Because Ranieri, I am certain there was peace and red wine flowing

wherever he was because he would not have believed what he saw. A

transformation in their performance. I think for a long time there was a

breakdown in communication with the manager. Rumours that they wanted a

change and we do not happen -- we do not know what happened in the

dressing room. But they showed tonight that the club made the right

decision. Winning last season does not make you the best man to stay in

the season. Let's talk about the second and third goals from

Leicester, particularly quality. If you put in the Maier then things

will happen for you. In the past they tried to play and started

working but by then it was too late. Another long ball, that was the

theme of the night. Liverpool cannot clear the ball. Drink water with a

big plastic finish. I thought he took it a bit too early, and really

high but fantastic. He had a fantastic game in midfield. Right on

it. That was a wonderful strike. If he was not there tonight, and he was

scooping balls in. Jamie Vardy just electric running into the channel.

This is not the best of crosses but Mariners keeps the ball alive. Now a

brilliant piece of football, the ball coming back to Christian Fuchs

and we see a bit of quality of skill. Just his composure, coming

back on his weaker foot and what a bore it is. And Jamie Vardy are not

back to his best, but his instinct there again tonight. So much quality

in that goal. Shakespeare has come in as well. He's saying I think I'm

good enough to take over, you wonder what was going on with him as well.

It has to be said because that is how it looks from the outside, does

he fancied yourself as manager. He's certainly got the right reaction

from his team. Not to bang on about it but you would not judge it just

on the one game. Of course not but it is a step in the right direction.

If they had not been the winners tonight, they're still in trouble

but that was a huge win against a good Liverpool side even though they

did not play well tonight. He could not have done any more tonight. Did

Liverpool help Leicester in the way that they defended? They allowed

Jamie Vardy to get in? If you put Liverpool under pressure and do not

let them play, give them time on the ball every ball from a wide area,

there is that height advantage. And Lucas, not his natural position but

this is just too easy. There has to be a bit -- a better understanding

with the partner. Mignolet makes the save and they just get caught. You

know about the pace of Jamie Vardy, do not give him as much. That is his

signature tune, Jamie Vardy running on your shoulder and you've got to

do your best. He should not have been put in that position. Then you

question the manager because Jamie Vardy is running free. Lucas just

does not want to play. Look at this, Okazaki making the run. He said the

ball out to Jamie Vardy in the first place. The criticism should not be

aimed at Lucas but either the manager for putting him in that

position, or the owner for not giving them enough motive. I do not

think you can be too harsh on Lucas. He should have done a bit better.

But it is not his natural position. He is now over the age of 30 and not

the quickest. When they play on the counterattack, with the pace of

Jamie Vardy and Mariners, they're dangerous. So we do not know why

they kept Ragnar Klavan on the bench. Jurgen Klopp afterwards was

despondent talk about how averaged his team was. Usually you get

something positive from him. Coutinho scored a consolation goal

but really almost a gutless performance from Liverpool but we

have not seen for some time. Buying players is not the be all and end

all but under the tenure of Jurgen Klopp Liverpool have made a profit

in the transfer market. In this age of money flooding into football, you

would expect a couple of local sides... I think what they want its

results on the pitch and it is getting that balance between

spending, speculating to accumulate on the pitch, one win in seven since

Christmas, at the halfway stage of the season second in the table and

since then the wheels have come. They brought in a couple of central

defenders, Ragnar Klavan, I think the main position is in holding

midfield. If you compare Drinkwater and Ndidi, and look what Wijnaldum

differ Liverpool, that is the big difference. And they need to address

that now. After their Europa League exit

at Wembley in midweek, Spurs returned to the home comforts

of White Hart Lane to face Stoke. After their win big disappointment

on Thursday Spurs are back home, they will tell whether one in nine

games in a row. Starting a key stretcher fixtures for them, for in

a row at White Hart Lane. An unchanged side from the draw against

Gent. Dele Alli had a red card but that does not affect his selection

for domestic games. He has scored a number of goals in the last meetings

between these teams. As has Harry Kane. Four stoke it is the same side

that last played two weeks ago against Crystal Palace. Since then

they have been to Dubai for a training break. There was a pause

for homework home favourite Peter Crouch. Under different reaction for

Charlie Adam whose career in English game has seen him score three times

against birds, miss a penalty against them and twice be sent off

against them. Vertonghen.

Davis was on the dash. The left wing to the edge of the box. Mousa

Dembele now. Harry Kane. Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen. Harry came full

stop he just does not miss. -- Harry Kane. He had to hit it quickly and

into the Stoke goal. It takes him on to 24 this season. And we're not yet

into March. Since he returned from his ankle injury in November he has

scored 18 goals in I was going to say 20 games but 19 and a bit. The

manager enjoyed that. Ramadan Sobhi. Superstock from Lloris. And tonight

with a chance of any follow-up, Vertonghen getting it. Crouch 's

offside. But the flag did not go up. A massive safe from Lloris.

That is Walker. Eric Dier. He wins a corner. This is some game. Everyone

back for Stoke. Alderweireld wins it for Spurs and Vertonghen, hits the

bar. Getting on for three and half years since Vertonghen last scored.

That would have been some way to get his name back on the sheet. A lovely

touch for Kane and another beauty from him. Here is Christian Eriksen.

Christian Eriksen this way and that. Blocked by Barnsley in the end.

Which way is he going, Kane going for the goal. What an effort. And it

only just missed. The frame of the goal that Vertonghen hit a minute

ago. Spurs are absolutely sizzling. Kane upended by Erik Pieters. This

is a cracking game. Whipping across the perfect cross,

Christian Eriksen. Finding Walker. Walker fired that absolutely. Grant

has to tip it over the top. Fire at will. Up towards Kane. Oh, yes. He

does it again. On a hat-trick again. The confidence that must be surging

through Harry Kane right now. Everything right about it, the

timing, the accuracy. And he has made it 2- nil. The team came from

2- nil down last season to score but this feels a little bit different.

Dele Alli takes it away from Adam and just caught by Charlie Adam.

Frustrated by the decision. Might be frustrated he did not get there at

the right time. Christian Eriksen will leave it for Kane and deflected

in! Another Harry Kane hat-trick. Another super Sunday for the Spurs

striker. Looked on target to me. If it is on target with just the one

deflection then it is Harry Kane's goal. And on their way to a big win

and a big three points. Two more first-half minutes to play. Two

minutes too many for his liking. Kane. Dele Alli running into the

middle. Dele Alli! Four for Spurs. With the whole path to come. Having

got through, always aware of where Dele Alli was moving into. Stoke

getting a caning. Mauricio Pochettino not the type of coach to

just coach -- coast the second half. Whelan. Arnautovic trying to make it

is. Now after Vertonghen, a battle between the two. It is going to be a

Stoke free kick. Arnautovic has earned that. Plenty of fight left in

him. Adam Inan, headed out by Davies. -- Adam in. He did not

intend to put it in like that. Davies misses but has another go.

Adam has another go. Eric Dier got there too back it away. It warned

for Lloris that it did not bounce into the path of Jo Allen. Kane.

Winks outside. Kane. A shooting chance again. It would have been his

fourth in the game but for a super stop. Lee Grant.

Eriksen on the move down the right hand side. Walker flying forward to

help him out if needed. In an goal but Grant stops his shot. But fully

grant, it could have been six or seven for Spurs. Couldn't have done

anything about the four did beat him. I feel good, fresh, ready to go

in any game. I'm on a nice one form in the last couple of months.

Hopefully until the end of the season I can keep that going. Let's

see how many I can score. He's playing at a very good level. He's a

fantastic player, one of the top strikers in the world.

He deserves it. He's a great professional, a top man, I'm happy

for him. My focus will always be on what we do. Spurs are a good team

but if you allow them time and space, a good team, and you don't

get up to the ball and affect the game, which we didn't in the first

half, good players will hurt you. It's a long gap, ten points, to

Chelsea. Is all you can do when your games? Not worry about them? True.

It's a big gap. That moment, that period in the Premier League. But

keep going and belief. You got the match ball at Foden and another

today but you seemed to have a problem getting it, was the referee

disputing your third? There was a bit of banter that it was a lucky

third but it was on target. It snuck under the keeper. But a goal is a

goal. I will happily take it. Pochettino says he is up there with

the best in the world. Minutes per goal, Premier League history, third

on that list, Harry Kane, scoring every 127 minutes. Only Aguero and

Henry are ahead of him. Just because we can, Alan Shearer is in 12. Good

for him on the graphic. Would you have liked to have marked Harry

Kane? I would have liked it. I would have given him a difficult

afternoon, perhaps more difficult than yesterday but he is now an

outstanding talent. The biggest compliment I could pay him, he's a

mixture between Teddy Sheringham and Alan Shearer. He hits the ball well

and his movement, his Taligent is as good as Sheringham. Very important

to Tottenham. -- his intelligence is. Let's look at his goals and his

performance in general. He likes to strike the ball early if he can. He

does. He is a very patient... Build-up. Excellent Tottenham team,

playing three at the back, lots of options. It arrives at his feet and

it is poor defending from Shawcross. He will punish you. A bit lucky,

opportunist. He always finds the corners, he has that nasty habit.

One thing he doesn't get enough credit for is his finishing. It is

exceptional. It was a great strike. This is his second goal. Arnautovic,

in no man's land. A very hard ball to hit on his weaker foot. He hits

it as sweet as possible. The third one he gets lucky. I'm not sure why

Stoker needs to put the ball out from 30 yards. It's a lucky goal.

The girl from the corner of his left foot is fantastic. This is bad

defending. Why is he so tight? He should be dropping off, dealing with

it. Another set piece. That was their downfall. He is full of

confidence. He has that bit of space. Now he wants to go after you

with a type of shot like Shearer. Spurs fans adore him, obviously, but

you are in a good position, do we give him enough credit in this

country? Because he is English, do we not put him up with others? He's

been doing it for a few seasons. We saw the list before with Henry,

Aguero, van der Sar, these fantastic players. He gives so much more to

the team. A lot of these players were poachers, goal-scorers but did

not get involved. Setting the goals up. The way he holds the ball up,

the fourth goal coming he brings so much more than just scoring goal. To

move him to the next level, we need to get him to the next World Cup. He

was poor at the Euros. He was taking corners for gods sake! Get him in

the right position and he will produce. A quick one on Stoke, look

at the start, all the teams above them have only taken five points

above them. Against the teams below them, they get the majority of

points. They need to toughen up, don't they? This is about where they

are, comfortable middle of the table team. It is about making the next

step. Mark Hughes is trying to bring in players comfortable on the ball

but it is about balance. Time for Saturday's goals,

starting at Stamford Bridge. Behind Fabregas. He managed to

scramble it home. Chelsea have been picking their passes together over

the last five or six minutes. Now they've managed to see their

persistence paid off. Is there time for Swansea to lift

one more ball in the direction of T-bill Courtois's goal? Taking

plenty of time about it. Sigurdsson. Headed in. Right on the stroke of

half-time. Fernando Llorente draws Swansea level.

It's come at two Sigurdsson. He has passed Victor Moses. He tries to

keep the ball from Azpilicueta, who he felt handled him. It does come

off the outstretched arm of Azpilicueta. I think Chelsea might

have got away with one. Fabregas. Pedro waiting for him. Now has a

shot which has beaten Fabianski! Straight through the Swansea keeper.

He really should have saved it. Chelsea won't mind how they scored

it. Brilliant from Hazard. Scored by

Diego Costa. That should wrap up the points for Chelsea. A warm hug of

appreciation from goal-scorer to goal maker. It is that Chelsea combo

again. Hazard and Costa. Maguire came in. Appeals for

handball. It's been given. Penalty. A good spot from Martin Atkinson.

The captain, Tom Huddlestone, has the responsibility. Against Tom

Heaton. It could be a big moment. It's in. Tom Heaton thought he kept

it out. Relief for Huddlestone and Hull. 72 minutes gone and Hull have

the lead. Brady. Keane! Would you believe it? The man

who gave away the penalty at one end has equalised at the other. Just his

second ever Premier League goal. And it's got Burnley back on terms.

Cabaye! Bernardo got his body in the way. Van Aanholt on his right foot

has put it in! Crystal Palace in front. Patrick van Aanholt's first

goal for the club. Off his left foot, you would have backed him. Off

his right, I think he's as surprised as anybody.

blink of an eye, all Sunderland's excellent defensive work evaporates.

Everton have been on top and they now have the lead.

Defoe. Is this his moment? Jermain Defoe. Underside of the bar.

Somehow, ever to escape. It just seemed like Defoe was waiting for

such an opportunity and he is a ball's width away from giving

Sunderland an equaliser -- somehow, Everton escape.

Mirallas. On the counter. Lukaku. Has he got the legs on Oviedo? He

has. Oviedo can't stop him. Pickford can't stop him. Romelu Lukaku. What

a pivotal 60 seconds. At one end, the underside of the Bard denies

Defoe, the other, Lukaku makes the game.

That is cleverly switched away to Fraser on the outside! Penalty!

Bournemouth will have no concerns whatsoever about that. Josh King

from the spot with the rain pouring down putting Bournemouth 1-0 up.

What a great start for them and what an important weekend. If they can

get a win it will open up a buffer zone to the bottom three. Chadli.

to the spot. Inside two minutes. Of his last eight penalty kicks, Troy

Deeney, with one blot of pocket top copy book, in April. He doesn't miss

this one. He buries it in the bottom corner. Deeney 's eighth of the

campaign. The perfect penalty from Troy Deeney.

Can Ayew help it on? He can. Picked out Antonio. He hasn't lost it yet.

It is in for Ayew. West Ham United level the score at 1-1. And Andre

Ayew as a Saab, gets his second in claret and blue. West Ham get the

equaliser that there will second half dominance merits. -- on as a

substitute. The pass wasn't good enough for him. WHISTLE

More frustration for Slaven Bilic. Let's have a look. Definite

table looks this evening. Spurs' win over Stoke yesterday

means the gap between themselves and Chelsea is now ten points. Liverpool

couldn't make any ground up after defeat at Leicester City. Manchester

United not in league action this weekend. Leicester's winter night

against Liverpool take them out of the bottom three. That relegation
