Two Majesty made, and three of the foal-mac resides within the top half

of the Premier League going into the weekend.

Plus, all Saturday's goals and 2 Good 2 Bad in the

company of Ruud Gullit and Kevin Kilbane.

We begin with Southampton against Chelsea.

Would Antonio Conte be celebrating on the touchline once again?

Gentleman's did to managerial touchline etiquette. By all means

show your emotions. But do try to stay in your technical area. Clear

and concise communication with your players is key. It did not look like

a worm chat. It is Nathan Redmond. 2-0. If your team is successful...

Steve Wilson. Turn the clock back a few weeks and it seems like both

managers may be struggling to adapt to new clubs in the new league. But

there are very much up to speed now. Southampton have conceded only three

in ten in league and cup. They have won six. Chelsea have been

victorious in their last three in the league without conceding. Ryan

Bertrand returns to the Southampton side having missed four games with a

hamstring injury. Romeu is a normal -- is another former Chelsea squad

man facing his old club. Antonio Conte picks the two -- picks the

same team that thrashed Manchester United last weekend.

A nice little step over and the deep cross. It is beautifully taken by

Austin. Alonso with a scrappy attempt to clear. The shot struck

Matic. What a take from Charlie Austin.

Beautiful control. Tadic taking an Alonso. He has done

really well. He has done brilliantly. Cahill away. It was hit

by Romeu. He did not get over it and. Tadic well into his repertoire

of tricks. Getting the better of Marcus Alonso. This is an awkward

one for Romeu. He would have done well to score from there. It was a

decent attempt. Look at the space for Hazard. Hazard

keeps his feet well and scores. Through the legs of Fraser Forster.

Chelsea, with Eden Hazard, take the lead in the six minute.

Southampton's watertight defence was breech surprisingly easily. Hazard

give it to Moses, went further return and no one tracked his

return. He left Steve Davies in his wake. He surprised Forster at his

near post. 1-0, Eden Hazard, not quite as early as the goal at

Stamford Bridge last weekend, but a great early goal for Chelsea

nonetheless. The fruit was high. Southampton

continuing to try to find the means to worry Chelsea. Davies takes it,

and the header is off target by Charlie Austin.

The French man spent 17 years as a player at Monaco. Then he went on to

manage the club. He won the title with them as a player and manager.

Chelsea are working very hard to close down every possible angle.

That is a foul by Marcus Alonso and Dusan Tadic in a fairly promising

position for Southampton. He bundled into the back of Tadic. Tadic is

going to have a go at this. The space to Courtois's left-hand side

looks inviting. Courtois happy to send it round for the coroner. Good

play from Romeu on the end of the wall. There is any of composure

about Chelsea which are struggling to affect. Hazard find space. He

could not beat Forster this time. He is really annoyed. He knew that was

a chance. He is a real danger, Eden Hazard. Darting inside. Clasie,

stolen by Matic. Diego Costa is in behind Romeu. Saved by the likes of

the goalkeeper. Van Dyk is there. The appeal for handball against

Matic not given. That is Cuco Martina.

The balance of play is very much with Chelsea at the moment. He is

still going, Hazard. He just ran out of the green stuff. This is a big

saved from Fraser Forster. As it is played through to Diego Costa, years

away. Now it is about whether he can beat the goalkeeper. Fraser Forster

was not about to see it go through his legs for the second time. That

is a great ball from Ngolo Kante to Marcus Alonso. Fonte in the middle.

That was a superb touch. Otherwise it was just a tap in for Eden

Hazard. Great football all round. The pass was slightly off the mark,

but that is because Romeu had failed him. There it is, right in front of

the referee. It is a Chelsea free kick. Hazard. Costa. A brilliant

goal from Diego Costa. Chelsea doubled their lead with the goal of

real quality. As soon as he received the ball, you could see Freddie

wanted to put it. He is already looking for it there. Then he

delivers it. Brilliantly put away by Diego Costa. Not a lot that Fraser

Forster can do about that one. 2-0 Chelsea. It is a beauty. Manchester

City, Arsenal and Liverpool all had victories away from home and all

scored four yesterday. Chelsea may yet match them. Hazard. That is a

bad ball from a good position. He might have done better.

Moses continuing to run free. Hazard. Costa. They are looking

threatening every time the advanced Chelsea. Just in front of Fonte. He

did not get a clean contact. Eden Hazard is scampering on for Chelsea.

That is a good ball to Moses. The shot, Forster has spilled it. Can

they finish it. That is a let off. It should have been three. A great

break. Forster found the shot hard to deal with. Diego Costa, spinning,

could not find a way through. Neither could Pedro. Too much

determination from Romeu. That is dangerous. That is Austin.

That is one of the best chances Southampton have had all day and

Charlie Austin has put it over the crossbar. He did well, Ryan

Bertrand. It was an inviting ball in.

Cahill and dashed Cahill making it difficult. Eden Hazard, taking on

Martina. Forster was down quickly. Chelsea look the more likely team to

score. Forster has been the busier goalkeeper by a distance.

I think the final Taj came Steven Davies. There is not much time

should they get one. It does not look likely, but you never know. It

could be a fourth straight league victory and a fourth straight clean

sheet for Chelsea. That is a good-looking ball from

Diego Costa. Victor Moses, good football. It is a good save from

Forster. Great stuff from Victor Moses. Very positive, well ahead, a

little bit too central. Good stuff all the same from the Southampton

goalkeeper. Charlie Austin is pointing to where

he wanted to go. It has pretty much gone there but the flag is. It will

not count. The linesman with the flag. Austin offside. Pointing to

McQueen exactly really wanted the ball to go, but Austin had just got

on the wrong side when it came. Who knows, it might have been a platform

for something late. Hazard, beautifully into Nemanja

Matic. Willian sliced it. Great stuff from Eden Hazard. We know he

is capable of taking your completely by surprise, but that is

outstanding. It was not from Willian at the end. Even know he will not

stop. You must be quite exhausted at the

end of the match. Yes. I am very happy. When you see this type of

game, when you see this commitment from your players, you must be

satisfied. It is difficult to play against this team. When you concede

a goal just after a few minutes at the beginning of the game. Eden

Hazard is very difficult to pick up. He is a top player and he's in

really good form this season. He showed that again today but that is

none of our concern. We find it difficult to deal with him today. We

are frustrated, it is the first game we have lost at home this season. It

is important we bounce back. We have a good opportunity on Thursday

night. Diego Costa's goal was a perfect strike. Yes, I think he

scored a fantastic goal. Also Eden Hazard. Today we created many

chances to score. I am satisfied. Our striker scored the goal, and a

defender. The team did not concede. It is the perfect game. You see your

players working so hard to win. They sure you their will to win. It is

fantastic for a coach. It was very comfortable for Chelsea

this afternoon, did you not think? It was very comfortable. If you play

against a team like Chelsea, you need to have a different game plan.

You cannot play with two strikers in the middle. You need to have winners

and deep winners also. And you will show us that example in just a

moment. Just looking generally at the game, we see Southampton a lot

this season, and I suppose this is a tribute to them that we expect them

to cause more problems? I think we expected them to cause more problems

today. I just feel overall that Chelsea are in this momentum now.

They have got momentum going forward. They have probably

outworked Southampton at times today. They have a contrast. Today,

they sat deep and allowed Southampton to come at them. As far

as Chelsea are concerned, what about Diego Costa? Offer we talk about

strikers having touches are lack of them. Diego Costa had three touches

in the opposition half, only one in Southampton's penalty area, but he

had such an influence on the game, on the back of not even touching the

ball at times. You understand from the clip CC from Costa, this is a

great run. He takes Van Dyke away and frees up the space for Pedro.

You can see why the players in the Chelsea side like in so much. He

creates an opportunity for himself, everything he runs with real

purpose. He makes Nemanja Matic's mind up. He says I will get behind

it. He can running behind and go off defenders but he can drop deep and

play. Plays it out wide and gets into the area. When that ball is

given away, who is the guy you can rely on to close down and stop

Southampton play? It is Costa. That is what you get from him. He makes

the player's mind up to play the ball into, but what he is doing is

freeing up space so the players can get themselves on the ball. A great

run again. Look what he does. He wants to be the first guy to go

back. It is that reaction constantly from them. We can talk about the

goals and what he does from an assist point of view, but it is his

movement which frees up the space for Pedro to run to which criticised

for Eden Hazard to get the goal. We talk about strikers having little or

no involvement from the lack of touches, but today we have seen his

movement is great. He is sixth on the all-time list on the Premier

League taking him to 64 games. Cole and Chirac, we put coal on top on

the basis that we work with Shearer and do not want to give him too much

credit. The work rate, he opens spaces for you if you are a striker

behind. When he goes right, YouGov left because all the intention is to

him. He has a handful and I like it. Let's go back to the point you were

talking about what what to do with your player. You need to have

winners against him. The reason why they play with three in the back, in

the middle is because Southampton play with two so it is easy to stop

them. You need to take people away from there. Here you see five men

and they play with too many players in the middle. He sees it, he cannot

stay in the middle. Eventually, he goes to the outside but then it is

already gone. You need to be staying on the outside from the start.

Eventually, he gets the ball but it is too crowded. He needs to get out

of there, out of the position and then the ball has to go to the other

side. You have to give them a 30 yard ball. You have to switch it

immediately. If you don't do it, it is too late. They tried to go

through the middle. Here again, the same thing. Davis also. He has to go

on the outside. He does the right thing. They want to switch the game.

It is too easy. Chelsea is focused now, all of them on the other side.

Look how much space Davis has because he stays on the outside. Now

you want the 30 yard ball and it doesn't come. They still tried to

play the ball through the middle, they still try to find an opening.

Davis things, why don't you give me the ball, I am here. And look how

many people Chelsea have on one side. You need to switch the ball

quickly from one side to the other. If you don't do it, like Southampton

did, it was too easy for Chelsea. They have the ability to hit the 30

yard balls. Because there was nobody there. You need to start like that.

A winger, when you have the ball, put your winners deep forward.

Alonso is left-back, Moses is right back, they have five men against

three men of yours, it means you have a couple of men over in the

midfield and then you can play the game. But switch it all the time.

And sometimes when we look at analysis, you're educating us with

what you tell us, less so you but mainly him, and it is informative,

but everybody will be able to see that this probably is not the best

way to defend Diego Costa? We know it is a brilliant finish. Martina

Now we will go to Goodison Park for Everton versus West Ham.

While Everton's good start under Ronald Koeman has been tempered

I think some Everton fans feared that frailty still fester from their

previous manager but under Ronald Koeman they are yet to lose at

Goodison Park. Everton, along with Lukaku in particular enjoy playing

against West Ham. Ronald Koeman makes two changes.

West Ham only need to tweak their line-up given a change of form and a

change of goalkeeper with Adrian in goal.

This is a significant game. Gareth Barry referred to this as a must win

game. They are starting to drift a little bit, five games without a

victory in all competitions. Over the top. He is appealing towards

referee Anthony Taylor. That was an opportunity to score his first goal

for the club. This is why Payet is so dangerous. Just finds that pocket

of space. Here is Payet running at the Hart of

the Everton defence. In the first two or three minutes, Payet is

starting to be a threatening influence. Slaven Bilic has been

keen to focus on football ahead of this match, rather than any of the

off the field incidents which have created the headlines.

Bolasie did not do Coleman any favours there. West Ham are on top

at the moment. Everton are struggling to get into the game in

the opening quarter of an hour. This could present itself for a

counterattack. Lukaku. Lansley needs trying desperately to keep with him,

stride for stride. Lukaku keeps going. Teed up for Bolasie. A brave

block by Noble and over the top from Barry. Fortuitous how it eventually

reached Bolasie. What a brave block that was by Noble. That cannot be a

handball. West Ham are quick to get the claret

and blue shirts back behind the ball.

Lukaku lurking. Still they can't put it properly away. The flag has

stayed down. Ronald Koeman, his first Premier

League win as a manager was actually against West Ham in August 20 14. He

is now looking for his 50th victory in English football.

Here is Lansley me again. Smart play by Lansley me. The angle is tight.

In the end, it probably worked against him. An unfortunate slip by

Coleman. Funes Mori looked awkward. That angle was extremely tight.

BA do will keep the move alive. He has found Barkley. A good save by

Adrian. Strong wrists. Bryan Oviedo did well actually to pick out Ross

Barkley. He created the angle. Takes the deflection on the way through. A

strong arm. This is a fixture which does not tend to produce goalless

draws. Only one in fact in previous meetings.

This could be interesting. It is only yellow. Well, he was sloppy, he

was caught in possession. They got themselves in a little bit of a

tangle. You have got to ask yourself with that be the denying of a

goal-scoring opportunity? That was a sharp turn. Got the shot

away. That was tipped over by the

goalkeeper. The passing was sharp. This was a crossed Tony-macro cross

which was fixed in and produced a save.

Coleman joins the attack. Coleman! Bolasie with a follow-up. Lukaku! He

have kept up his run of scoring against West Ham United. That is his

50th Premier League goal. You have got to feel a little bit for Adrian,

because as Coleman cut inside, it was a very smart save. Bolasie was

alert to slide in and there was Lukaku with the simplest of tasks

and he has scored one now in all nine appearances that the Belgian

international has faced West Ham United. It is also seven goals in

seven games. He and Bolasie have formed such a friendship, they

enjoyed that with a celebration. Coleman is joining the attack. Just

held up a fraction with that pass. That was a nice little ball inside.

Barkley, just over the top. Much better from Everton. Barkley could

not keep it down. Slaven Bilic, two injury hit seasons as an Everton

player. Noble, and a flying save. Robles so

it all the way. I shake of the head from Noble. He had the space and

time to pick his shot. It was curling as well.

Barkley, the grateful recipient. He says to Lukaku, chase that. Two in

the penalty area. Lukaku will look up. Barkley. Surely that seals it.

That is what it means to Ross Barkley. Everton now have breathing

space. The arcing pass towards Lukaku. He was one of two players

making a run into the penalty area. He deliberately held back, find a

space and dated his left footage shot beyond Adrian. Lukaku turns

provider. Ross Barkley, who has not hit the heights of the first half of

last season, score was only his second league goal of the season.

This is a sweeping move. A great save. What a goal that would have

been. No wonder some of the Everton supporters are riding to their feet.

It was excellent football from Ronald Koeman's side. -- rising to

their feet. Excellent football producing an instinctive save.

That was a deft little touch, Gueye. Gueye, brought down. No, no penalty.

Anthony Taylor was quick to dismiss any appeals from the home side and

added on time. Everton are back to end ways. I think the first half was

difficult. -- back to winning ways. I believe in the qualities and

confidence. The second half was different. Good pace in front, good

football. The first goal, after half-time, brought the confidence

back to the team. It was a different team in the second half. I have the

feeling that we should have taken something out of this game. I am not

saying they did not deserve it. They did, at the end of the day, because

when we offered them something, they were more mature in that situation.

They took it straightaway. We did not do that. Do you think you were

unfortunate with the first goal? You made an excellent save and Bolasie

seemed to react quicker than anyone else to find Lukaku? Yes, it was a

little unlucky for us. It was a great reaction from Bolasie. We have

to defend better. We're not happy with the second half because we

conceded two goals. We will keep fighting for the next one. I try to

help Yannick Bolasie to get into the right positions in the box. He

thought like a striker. He was there the rebound. What do you want to see

from Ross Barkley every week? How we played today. That means that we

were running, he was defensively strong. He fought for every ball. He

was an important player from the midfield. He scored the goal. That

is what you expect from quality players in front. They make the

difference. That is what he did today. What is the key to that

consistency? Working hard every day and listen to the manager. If he's

going to be listening to the manager, what is the manager going

to be saying? He has also said post match today that he is continuously

shouting from the touchline that Ross Barkley needs to run more. The

one thing you get from Barkley is a creativity. We know he can play, but

the thing he has been questioned on over the last three seasons is

without the ball. Today, I felt like he had learned from what Ronald

Koeman said. He worked without the ball unforced mistakes when he did

not have possession. That is maybe the least you can expect from him.

Because of the ability he possesses, this other side of his game, when it

comes off, when he's doing it, he will be the complete footballer. He

has this in abundance, he can beat players and get himself into

goal-scoring positions. I like the positions he takes up. In the

central area, sometimes he runs out of position, sometimes he might like

discipline. When he stays in those areas when the ball is fed to him,

he will take his strikes. Ronald Koeman mentioned that. He has the

ability. The second goal came from him working hard. He wins the ball

and Romelu Lukaku away and then he gets the rewards. If he were starch,

would you, as a nation, be discussing his work rate or how much

he runs? No. -- if he was Dutch. They have a Dutch man in charge. I

know that. Ronald sees the potential in him. He has to go deeper to get

the potential out of it. If you see him today, you think, that is the

player that I want. He has not done that for a long time. If he wants to

be a good player, he needs to do this every week. Do not be happy

with the goal, do not be happy with your game, be eager to do more. Are

you talking about discipline rather than work rate? It is not only that.

What I saw in the interview, I think there was complacency about him. He

was happy with how he was doing things. Ronald says, I have a player

with a lot of potential. I need to get behind him to get it out of him.

Today, he showed himself how good he is when he does it. Getting dropped

against City was maybe an alarm bell for Ross Barkley. He needed that. He

was questioned by the manager and now we have seen a response. Let's

look at the goals in more detail. Slaven Bilic and Adrien Bau is

critical of the West and defending. This is the first one. You can say

that defensively they were sloppy. Bolasie does everything right. He

slides in. He was quicker than anyone else. They did not see him

coming. Look where he is now. He gets around it and he slides. I

think it is the desire. Is it easier to show that desire when you're on

the front foot, going to the ball, as opposed to Reid and Cresswell,

who were looking around? He slides in, he was eager to do it. He did a

great job. Showing the Barkley goal again, because there are elements of

West Ham defending that you're not impressed with. First of all, it was

onside. It was onside. Look at Barkley when he heads this poll. We

thought it was offside. It was just on the edge. Barkley is strolling

forwards. He is not sprinting. Ogbonna knows he is left footed.

Make sure he cannot cross it. Barkley just rolled in. Four men are

just watching the bottle. Nobody is looking. Everyone is attracted to

the ball. There is a run across the post. There is no awareness of where

their team-mates are. Space does not score goals, players do. It is an

old saying, but in that instance, it rings true. Talk to me about Ronald

Koeman. When you were his team-mate, could you have seen him going into

management? Yes. He is very quiet. He knows exactly what to do. He was

not the quickest player, but he was always anticipating everything so he

did not need to slide tackle. When the -- when we did a course for our

badges in Holland, I saw him there with his pencil case. He gets all

kinds of colours of the rainbow out. I think, why are you doing that? He

has sheets with different colours. I think, OK. I get it. This is how

years. This is the man I know from when I was young. I hope that you

said, he is a busy boy. I am not quite sure what you said. Do you

think he's that methodical now with his team? He stays composed with

everything? He has the ability to see it in a quiet way, in a nice

way. It is my managing with him. He is like Carlo Ancelotti. He is the

man you like. He does not screen, he is not standing on the outside. He

tells you exactly how it is, very methodical and easy-going. I like

him as a person. For us, as a sweeper, he was not quite, but he

never needed to slide in. He always anticipated the situation. There is

a steely determination to him as well. He is just a good, genuine

guy. When you're a player, you want to play for him, especially with the

experience he has. The cup with a big ears, that helps. What would be

a successful season for Everton? I think the top eight would be a

successful season. It will be difficult to challenge. I love the

pencil case story. There were seven games

in the Premier League yesterday. Part one of our round-up begins

Brilliantly finished. What will that do for Hayes and Manchester City's

confidence in general? That nearly came two Sergio Aguero. It has come

The first time in from Alberto Moreno. Emre Can, a slight

deflection on the wane. Liverpool ahead after 50 minutes. Well worked,

finally finished. 1-0 Liverpool. That was a horrible slice from Dejan

Lovren. James McArthur equalises for Crystal Palace. It was Dejan

Lovren's mistake. He paid dearly for it. What a messy goal for Liverpool

to concede. The lead did not last long. 1-1. Coutinho will try again.

Dejan Lovren has made amends. A powerful header from the Croatian

defender. He was the villain moments ago, he is the hero once again for

Liverpool. A pivotal figure, twice in quick succession.

Wilfried Zaha, floating that end. Crystal Palace are back in. James

McArthur with his second header of the first half. 2-2.

3-2 Liverpool! Liverpool ahead for the third time in an incredible

first half. A lovely ball forward, into Firmino.

And just like that, Liverpool have sliced Crystal Palace open again and

they lead by four goals to two and surely that is not a lead they are

going to surrender this evening. Cool and composed, a delightful dink

over the Crystal Palace goalkeeper. Neat and tidy from Arsenal.

Oxlade-Chamberlain. There is the cross towards Sanchez! A fantastic

goal. Arsenal in front. Alexis Sanchez with his 12th goal in 19

Premier League starts. It is Duncan Watmore for Sunderland.

A penalty. On went what more, caught by cheque. Here comes to fog, 1-1.

No nerves there. -- FO. There is the break he was absolutely desperate

for. Arsenal were frustrated at dropping points against

Middlesbrough. They will not want to repeat that on Wearside. Here is the

cross. The first touch for Olivier Giroud results in a goal. Is that

what you call an inspired substitution? And Giroud has done it

again. Two for him. Three for Arsenal and that should be three

points. He always seems to do it against Sunderland as well.

Here is gives! That should have been four. It might still be. Sanchez it

is. He has got two as well. They are enjoying themselves now, Arsenal. It

is another tough day for David Moyes and Sunderland.

Let's talk about your former club, Kevin, do you fear for them? Most

definitely. We spoke about them defending set pieces and the same

again. Defending set pieces poorly. It is one of those where they can't

seem to get anything right at the moment. Heavily reliant on Jermain

Defoe. And maybe you would expect it a little bit against Arsenal. There

were not many chances for Jermain Defoe. From a coach's point of view,

it will be infuriating. You are responsible for it. They go in the

zone and man marking. The most important thing is you do your job

and it is not that difficult, not at all. The ball is there at 30 yards.

You have time enough to do something about it. So much discussion looking

at the bigger picture, Sunderland and the club of a whole. They have

gone through so many managers. Gus Poyet a couple of weeks ago gave

this quote which starts with him going a bit low B E.

-- it starts with him going a bit Labi Siffre. Would you go along with

that? It is probably every manager who would say that. It is at Mendis

club. Up in the north-east, it is such a hotbed of football up there,

everyone lives for the game. And particularly Sunderland, no one has

been able to get it right. David Moyes went in with great intentions.

Not long with the transfer window. He was able to get signings. I think

ahead of the next window he would be able to bring signings in that the

problem is, would he be given that time? Whether he is given time or

not, the other problem is, if they continue in this situation, to bring

players in in January would be difficult? I feel for him. He is a

very good guy. He knows his football, he understands football.

So many coaches have tried it. There must be something that doesn't go

well and I don't know what it is. Allardyce survived. All of them

survived but they cannot continue getting results out of the

championship and that is something strange because the potential is

there. There is potential but they can't get it right. I don't know

what the core is. I am just guessing what it is. It is a pity when a club

gets in such a turmoil. The football continues on the BBC
