Hello there, we may be on somewhat later than usual, but believe me

it's worth staying up for. We've got six sparkling games that are assured

of keeping you awake until the midnight hour, possibly.

Seldom have there been more England goals in the studio, just lacking

Sir Bobby Charlton really. Both Alan Shearer and Michael Owen have

promised to take it in turns to point out the shocking defending. We

start in West London with Chelsea against a West Brom side who haven't

won at Stamford Bridge for 35 years. The 14 previous meetings between

these two clubs have seen a total of 13 managers take part. Today, 'the

special one' was up against another of his apprentices. Before the

match, Jose Mourinho and Steve Clarke were among those across the

UK who joined together with players and supporters to remember those who

bravely fought for their country. COMMENTATOR: Eden Hazard back in the

good books, left out of Wednesday's Champions League game, he returns to

make amends along with Frank Lampard, also missing from the

midweek side. Azpilicueta is at left back with Ashley Cole only as sub.

Albion have scored one goal in their last eight games here and the man

who got it, Shane Long, keeps his place. Steve Reid makes his first

league appearance of the season. He is in for the injured Billy Jones.

Hazard, driving through. Fouled by Yacob. He will get a yellow card.

Brought back into the team today in place of James Morrison, presumably

to do that job, break it up and get into Chelsea. This one could be

damaging. He has a go. Myhill had to get

across. He made the save look rather nonchalance. Remembrance weekend,

Chelsea for the fifth year are entertaining Conor Locket. His

father was killed in Afghanistan in 2009. It's a lovely touch.

Hazard, the shots on. Myhill saves it well, but it's turned in. Eto'o

is there to bounce again. No goalkeeper is safe when Samule Eto'o

is around. Super work from Hazard. It's not the goalkeeper really

caught out this time. Myhill couldn't really do more than he did.

Liam Ridgewell had his pocket picked by Eto'o. Another goal that he has

nicked for himself. Chelsea one, West Bromwich Albion nil. It's

Eto'o's fourth goal for the Blues. Ramires has a couple of hacks at

him. Sessegnon keeps his feet. Into Long. Off the post, Cech beaten.

Cech has not had a save to make. He very nearly didn't get close to that

one. I don't think Cech was getting there. So 100 games at the home

dug-out at Stamford Bridge. He has only lost two, not including penalty

shoot-outs. Much more life about the Baggies

here. Sessegnon, stopped by Terry. A team whose supporters haven't had

a lot to shout about when they have come to the capital in recent times.

Only one win in their 15 league games played in London. That was at

QPR last Boxing Day. The corner in. McAuley. Saved by Cech, good save

too. It's followed up. It's in. Shane Long has got it. The warning

signs have been there for Chelsea. West Bromwich Albion have been

knocking. Finally, Shane Long has got in. Not a flicker of emotion

from Steve Clarke, but plenty from the fans. McAuley is a danger, we

know that. Shane Long climbed brilliantly after Cech's Parry up

into the air. Look at that standing jump. One of the smallest men in

there. It's a terrific leap from Long, who has had to work so hard

for that goal. In between Lampard and Terry. Chelsea one, West

Bromwich Albion one. Lost the ball to Yacob, then to

Ridgewell. Here goes Sessegnon. Ridgewell. Numbers arriving from the

far side. Here's Sessegnon in the middle. It's through Cech. West

Bromwich Albion have turned it around to lead at Stamford Bridge.

Sessegnon's alone. Never usually needs a second invitation to shoot.

He took it away from Terry nicely, but set up the chance. It still

should have been saved by Cech. The hands don't move quickly enough.

It's Chelsea, one, West Bromwich Albion, two. I have, dispole cresses

Chris Brunt. Eto'o. Off Ridgewell. Willan. Myhill can't collect it.

It's not away. A super save. Ramires was ready to follow up. Mata's

there. It has gone behind. It will be a corner. That really is a top

stop. What a way to brighten your 31st birthday. Chelsea have only

lost successive Premier League games under Jose Mourinho once. At the end

of 05/06, when they were already champions.

Back in towards Ba. Willan heads over. Will Chelsea get a better

chance? Not in control of the header.

This is a new experience for Chelsea supporters, who have never seen

their team beaten at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League under Jose

Mourinho's management. Willan did well against Morrison.

Ridgewell couldn't dive in. Cahill across. Oh, Barnes missed it

somehow. The ball needed to be in front of him, it was right at him.

He couldn't adjust himself to apply a finishing touch. West Bromwich

Albion have not won at Stamford Bridge for exactly 30 years ago to

the day. Ramires caught by Mulumbu, Albion

can break here. It's Brunt. He Hassanan to the left, Morrison to

the right. Brunt through the middle by himself. Wrong choice. It might

yet count against Albion. Brunt seemed to slow down with every step.

Then he just went for the blaze of glory. He must be starting to beam

inside, even if Steve Clarke won't show it outwardly. He will be

glouerring though, absolutely seething.

Eto'o, Ramires, down goes Ramires. Andre Marriner says penalty. Last

seconds of the game. West Bromwich Albion, to a man and a coach, have

plenty to say about it. Reid running across Ramires. Does he foul him? Is

it shoulder to shoulder of coming together. Ramires happy to go to

ground. Any defending team will say it's soft. This is huge. Hazard.

Scores! So, so coolie. Chelsea have saved themselves. West Bromwich

Albion are furious about it. Anichebe is involved with Ivanovic.

This is all because of the penalty award. It's all too much for some.

Controversial decision, big one for Chelsea. Doesn't Hazard take that

chance well? Drama to the last. Chelsea two, West Bromwich Albion,

two. You have just seen that penalty incident back once again. It was you

involved. Tell us your thoughts? Again, looking at it, it felt like

it at the time, it felt like it was soft. It felt like I stood my

ground. There was no raising of the arm. My arms are by my side. It felt

soft for me. Had a penalty, which for them is difficult to accept

because it's a last-minute penalty. Now when they go home they seep see

on the screen and change their opinion. You believe it's a

clear-cut penalty? I don't believe it's not a clear penalty. I have the

reason to be very upset with the referee's work. Which I accept, I

have to say clearly it's a big mistake. Even the fourth official

told me. Was it on your mind you were seconds away from losing that

incredible unbeaten home Premier League record? You are right. The

record is incredible. When I lose I think it's to celebrate, it's not to

be upset. It's to celebrate an incredible record, match after

match, one more match just had one more match to fantastic record. The

day I lose a match at home, I'm going to have dinner a good

restaurant to celebrate. Priceless. After the game, I spoke to a rather

frustrated West Bromwich Albion boss. I imagine there is mixed

emotions at the end of that game for you? There are a few emotions. I

don't think they are mixed. I'm very, very sad for my team. They

deserved to get all three points. I'm disappointed with the decision.

It's another penalty decision that goes against us, in my opinion, it

has cost us five points this season. Penalty decisions for and against

us. I'm also immensely proud of the performance of the team. We came

here, it's a difficult place to come, Chelsea are one of the teams

that are going to fight for the title. We suffered the

disappointment losing the goal before half-time, I don't think

Chelsea had done enough in the first half to deserve to be in front.

Second-half we played really well. We were good. We deserved all three

points. You are talking about a sense of injustice there, do you

feel like it works against perhaps the so-called smaller clubs when

they go and visit big clubs like "Chelsea"? I think the atmosphere of

the bigger stadiums when you go away from home can influence decisions,

of course they can. It's Hume nature if it doesn't. I think the decision

today was particularly galling it's not clear you can give a penalty for

that decision. You played the game, the boy went into the box. He went

down looking for, it the referee obliged him. You won at Old

Trafford, close to winning here at Stamford Bridge. It must give you

satisfaction, encouragement, as to how your team is performing

afterall? The team by in large this year, apart from the slow start, has

played well. We have had good performances. I'm concerned we have

drawn a few games you don't pick up the points. It's important in this

league to pick up wins. That is what I'm saying. I just feel today was

three points. It would have made our position in the table look a little

bit better than it is now. We keep going. We fight the big boys and go

away from home and try to play with no fear. We try and play with a bit

of personality. I think we achieved that today. Hopefully the Albion

fans are going back, as well as being angry and disappointed, I hope

they are proud of their team, I am. Clearly frustrated. What did you

make of those decisions? I think this sound Chelsea up, too

many touches on the ball. Ridgewell came in there. It went on to lead to

West Brom's goal. I do not think that is a foul at all. I think the

referee got that one right. He was too slow on the ball, too many

touches. That is a shocking decision. There

is no way ever that is a penalty. Is it a dive? He is looking for it,

last minute. Watch Steven Reid, his arm isn't up, he doesn't trip him.

Ramirez is right into him. It is a poor decision for me, more

of a fall than a dive, looking for a penalty. Chelsea over the duration

of the game were at times pedestrian and not creative. Similar to how

they played against Newcastle last week.

Too many touches, they didn't get in behind West Brom enough times. Not

one of them is looking to try to get into this space. Frank Lampard is

going towards the ball as too many people did today. The ball is not

coming into the box at all. For touches. They made it easier than it

should have been for West Brom who were comfortable. Everything Chelsea

did was in front of the back four, in front of midfield. Not one

thought to knock the ball into the box. Negative to knock it sideways.

Eventually West Brom frustrate them. Five players at the front line, not

one the king to go. Again, no penetration. It is frustrating

football. They have possession but are not doing anything with it.

Nothing at all. It gets taken out again. West Brom were comfortable. A

complete lack of wit. Look at the four guys in the middle. It must be

frustrating for the fans. Eventually, they have no option but

to sling it into the box. Six players within a 15 yard area. Lack

of creation from Chelsea. That summed up the game.

Did you see that as the main problem with Chelsea struggling? Mourinho's

worst start with Chelsea. I fancied Chelsea at the start of

the season. They are struggling to score from their main strikers but

Chelsea aren't set up in that way. Their strength lies in Mata,

Willian, Hazard. None of them are really firing at the minute. They

need to get them firing again. Credit to West Brom. Organised,

disciplined, dangerous. Their tactics were spot-on, really

well organised. This guy, a real threat. Shane Long, giving them

problems. John Terry, Cahill. Great movement. Unlucky not to score. He

is very good in the air for a small guy. John Terry kicking from the

corner. Good movement. This is what I like. He wants that, his hunger

and desire to get above. He gets his goal. It wasn't just about his

movement but were raped, helping his team out. Tracking back. The ball

eventually fell to him. Watch his touch, how he brings his players

into the game. Little lay off. I was really impressed.

After losing at the Emirates last week, Liverpool were hoping to

reduce the five-point gap on leaders Arsenal. Their opponents, Fulham,

have only won at Anfield once in their previous 32 visits. The

commentator was Jonathan Pearce. Luis Suarez has been given special

clearance to play by Uruguay, winning the Dutch cup for Martin

Jol. After looking suspect defensively at Arsenal, Liverpool

revert to a back for leaving out Sakho and Toure. Agger starts in

seven weeks. Coutinho is back in the first since mid-September. Fulham

have defensive problems with Hangeland still injured.

Kacaniklic the Ruiz. If the front players don't work back, it will be

for defeats. -- four. Cissokho. Coutinho, dummy. Bringing

in Gerrard. Suarez. Well saved by the goalkeeper Stekelenburg who read

the situation well. Sharp awareness from the Dutch international

goalkeeper. Cutting out the cross. The weight on the pass was

immaculate. A good counter. Kate -- deflected into the side

netting by Glen Johnson. Lovely move, Fulham. The shot had then but

was deflected away. -- had venom. Sturridge spinning away from

Kacaniklic. Dumped to the ground. Parker saying, not me. Richardson

was the other player involved. As the one dried back, his feet were

taken. Gerrard, still keeping things ticking over as he approaches 650

games. With the free kick, it is in! Suarez wheels away and celebrates,

Liverpool are ahead after 22 minutes. I think it went in off from

Amorebieta. It did. It is an own goal. And Liverpool lead. No way

Suarez can claim it. It went in off the defender.

A lovely cross for Johnson who kept it in. Support from Henderson.

Suarez, spinning away from Kasami. Wriggling, shimmying, still fighting

for it. Gerrard stepped over. Johnson, a decent plot by Kasami.

Henderson around the corner to Suarez, into Jordan Henderson and

deflected away. Skrtel was there. Liverpool power

into a two - zero lead on 25 minutes. Two goals in three minutes.

Look at the white shirts in there, and look at them ball watching.

Amorebieta with an own goal, then he failed to track Skrtel. Martin

Skrtel's first goal since last December against Fulham.

Three still in the middle. Coutinho. A good save. Liverpool are turning

it on. Fulham are helping them. Stekelenburg between Liverpool and a

3-0 lead. A lovely ball to Henderson. Steven

Gerrard is playing very well. Suarez, for three. Brilliant,

Liverpool. He has only been allowed to play by an Uruguay because

Liverpool are jetting him out to Istanbul to make his international

team-mates ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Jordan. That is

how vital he is to this club, and how lethal he is at the moment.

Gerrard's pass immaculate. They worked the ball on quickly. A lovely

run, Fulham did not pick it up. And the finish, from the angle, so

astute. Luis Suarez, seven games played for Liverpool, seven goals.

22 in his 25 games. Taking Liverpool 22 minutes to open

the floodgates today. Once they were open, the goals flooded in.

Suarez to the left. And saved by his former Ajax team-mate Stekelenburg.

Deflected into the path of storage, took his time. Suarez put it over.

-- into the path of Sturridge. He was level with the defender

according to the Assistant. A saved by the goalkeeper. The

second one was more impressive. Gerrard ran him down. Suarez! Suarez

has shown them, what a season if he is having. For all of his

controversial pass, Suarez could be a World Cup star of 2014. At the

moment, he is absolutely legal. Richardson was caught in

possession. A cynical foul. Suarez chucked it in. He is in deadly form.

Heads down, confidence sagging. Morale drooping. A well beaten team.

Mike Myers, of Austin Powers fame. This is his first visit here since

1975, very emotional about it all. Suarez, desperate for the hat-trick.

Ten minutes to go. Looking for Coutinho. That was off Suarez.

Just onside. Didn't know anything about it, Suarez. A remarkable

testament to Fulham, since 2001 in the Premiership. Will that long run

come to an end this season. All the work on the training ground undone

by bad defending? Yes, we talked about it, did

everything in training, but made the same mistake. We conceded these

goals, it was very frustrating, not only for the fans but for me and the

team. You can't come up with the same issues all the time. You must

have been delighted with the first half, it was bewitching at times.

First and foremost, our appetite for the game, the good football comes on

the back of the mentality to work, our workrate was outstanding. Good

players working hard, you saw the quality. Our cognition play was

outstanding. You have a striker who will score

goals, he puts in a shift, doesn't he? That is why he is one of the

best players in the world. He does everything top strikers do but he

does the hard work. In the second half, there was only

one thing, to keep the damage down. That was the only strategy in the

second half. Not enough for me or us.

You went off, late on. A little bit of a niggle but I will get it seemed

to and hopefully I can pull through. That is about as comfortable as it

gets for Liverpool. Yes, Fulham did not truly turn up. And one man who

set the tone for the game was Steven Gerrard. And not for the first time.

He has virtually covered every blade of grass. And he has only played 65

minutes. It was an awesome display. This is his rangefinder early on in

the game. The ball breaks back to him. He's not admiring it. He is

getting into these positions. Nicely weighted pass, and Luis Suarez

could've done better. He has not just got vision. Look at that ball,

inches away from both storage and Luis Suarez. He was just ahead of

the game. He is thinking two three passes ahead of everyone else.

Another lovely weighted pass. Nutmeg on Dimitar Berbatov. And this is an

inch perfect cars. And this, he whips in that ball, he absolutely

whips it in with pace. You only have to get your head on the ball, it is

very potent. And then an easy through ball you would say, but

again, the passes weighted perfectly. Even in the last few

minutes on the pitch he's galloping forward. Much has been said about

the Liverpool strike partnership. It would be good to hear that duo

perform a great Liverpool striker. What do you think of Luis Suarez and

Daniel Sturridge? Probably the best in the league at the moment. You

have got Rooney and Van Persie at United, but coming forward, these

two are the best at the minute. They work of each other. They create so

many opportunities for each other. This was the pick of the goals. I

like this floating position from Sturridge, offside while the players

being built up, then you have got choices. Sturridge is the first

striker, so as the second striker, you play-off wherever he goes. He's

telling Henderson where he's going, with his arm. Jordan Henderson plays

a lovely ball, and he makes diagonal runs. You have got momentum running

towards goal and you are staying onside. That is a classic training

ground move. Two strikers, one dropping short, one going into

space. They are clever players and they drop of each other. They are so

intelligent, they just know. As a centre forward you want to know when

you're making that one that the board is coming in, and who better

to play it and Steven Gerrard? It is looking grim for Fulham and four

Martin Jol. They have not given themselves any chance. 3-0 down

after 20 and 30 minutes. The players are making too many basic errors.

They have got three games at home O. The next four and if things do not

turn round then they could be looking at the change. They have got

to do better and give themselves a chance. Manchester United against

Arsenal is one of question might games on this weekend's Match of the

Day two. -- one of this weekend's games.

It is in. Robin Van Persie. Aaron Ramsey, brilliant stuff.

There's plenty of build-up to all four games on Match of the Day two

extra. That's on BBC Two this weekend at the slightly earlier time

of high noon. It has been all smiles at Southampton this season. Seven

games unbeaten and three Saints players made Roy Hodgson's England

squad. Victory over a very stubborn Hull

City would give Southampton four successive Premier League victories

for the first time this millennium. At St Mary's for us was Simon

Brotherton. Southampton unchanged, another chance to see their England

trio of Rickie Lambert, Jay Rodriguez and Adam Lallana, the club

captain, whilst Hull City are unchanged after beating Sunderland

last weekend. Steve Harper continues in goal, and Yannick Sagbo leads the

attack again despite the availability of Danny Graham. Roy

Hodgson is here. It could become like a second home for him.

Hull City so far have been beaten by Manchester City, Chelsea, Everton

and Tottenham but have got something from all of the other matches they

have played in. Lovely skill from Adam Lallana. Towards Rickie

Lambert. Desperate defending from Curtis Davies. Southampton quick out

of the blocks at the end of what has been a good week for them.

Adam Lallana has done well. The header away from Maynor Figueroa.

James Ward-Prowse get his foot in. And his delivery is beaten away for

a throw-in to Southampton. James Ward-Prowse will link up with

England under 21 squad after came along with Luke Shaw. -- after this

game. Morgan Schneiderlin! It has taken Southampton 15 minutes to

score. And Morgan Schneiderlin has his first goal of the season. Good

play on the right hand side. The ball seemed to hang in the air.

Rickie Lambert stayed strong, and Morgan Schneiderlin with an

unopposed header. Three Hull City defenders very close to Morgan

Schneiderlin but none of them able to get close enough. Southampton

playing with confidence and no small amount of flair. And other excellent

delivery from Nathaniel Clyne. In the end, it did not quite fall for

Rickie Lambert and J Rodriguez. -- Jay. Adam Lallana is challenged by

Steve Harper and it is going to be a penalty. Adam Lallana was upended

and it is a yellow card. We can have a look at that again. Adam Lallana,

clearly caught by Steve Harper. Steve Harper still on the field. You

could not say that that was a clear goal-scoring opportunity because he

was chasing the ball tight angle to the goal. Rickie Lambert had a

chance to make it 2-0, and there was no doubt about that one. Southampton

dominating play and 2-0 up inside 30 minutes.

The penalty kick thumped home by Rickie Lambert. He celebrates his

fourth goal of the season. Nice interplay. Adam Lallana causing

real problems. The ball sticking to his feet, that is absolutely

brilliant. What a fantastic goal from the Southampton captain, Adam

Lallana. Southampton are running away with the match. And Adam

Lallana just ran away with the ball, passed half of the Hull City team.

Look at this for an individual goal. Lovely, close control. Great balance

and skill, and a tight angle, and he squeezes it past Steve Harper. 3-0,

and you cannot see anyway back for Hull City in this match. Southampton

have been absolutely superb. Two of the three players in the full

England squad for Southampton have scored in the first half, Rickie

Lambert and Adam Lallana, in front of the watching England manager, Roy

Hodgson. Victor Wanyama, turning into double. And Janet Sacco. Hull

City have a goal. -- turning into trouble, and Yannick Sagbo. It all

stemmed from the ball being given away. This was the clearance, to

Victor Wanyama. He let the ball run. And it ran into the path of Jake

Livermore, who found Yannick Sagbo, who found the bottom of the net.

That is a poor goal to give away from a Southampton point of view.

Good finish by Yannick Sagbo. It is a glimmer of hope for Hull City, but

it is still a long way back. Adam Lallana -- Adam Lallana again.

And it is a superb save. Good stop by Steve Harper. Adam Lallana, close

to his second goal of the match. The goal bound shot, pushed wide by

Steve Harper. There is the manager of the month, Mauricio Pochettino of

Southampton, what the job he has done. He had a sceptical reception

many arrived in January. -- when he arrived.

The deep cross met by the head of the Argentinian. Comfortably saved

by Steve Harper. Nathaniel Clyne. Inside the last couple of minutes.

Nathaniel Clyne with the delivery. And that is dispatched by Stephen

Davis. That is the cherry on the top of this performance. Two minutes to

go, 4-1 up. Lovely piece of skill, the curling cross, and a fine

finish. Southampton Brit sliced their way past Hull City. --

ruthlessly sliced their way past. Do you think that England call ups

have inspired your squad even more? TRANSLATION: it was positive and it

inspired them. It was never going to be easy. Hull City have never lost a

game this season by more than one goal. They need to be 100% focused

and keep thinking about the game and just do well. They are very good

side. In the first half in particular, they made it very

difficult for us. But credit to our lads, we stuck at it after

half-time, but you have to say, well done to the opposition, sometimes.

That is as big a doing as we have had for a long time. What was your

view of the gold from Adam Lallana? It was amazing. He does that all the

time in training. It is just normal. His ball skills are the best.

Technically, he is superb. Southampton were superb. All eyes on

the England squad members and they did not disappoint. Adam Lallana,

what the goal. -- what a goal. Some people are not sure of his position.

He is all over the park. Predominantly on the right-hand

side. But he is given that freedom. When you look at the next one, to

roam around and do whatever he wants. He runs at players and causes

problems. All day. Look at this for a piece of skill. Not only is it

great skill, but what a brilliant ball that is for a centre forward to

get on the end of. This is intelligent football from Rickie

Lambert and Adam Lallana. Rickie Lambert goes short, and Adam Lallana

knows he's going to make the run behind the defender. Lovely little

ball from Rickie Lambert. I don't know what Steve Harper is doing out

there, but that is intelligent play. If one of the foreigners scored a

goal in the league like this we will be talking about it for weeks on

end, so let's make sure that we do with this. That is top class. To run

at the defenders like that and take all of them out, great first and

second Dutch, running with the ball, and what a finish. -- second touch.

Two touches on his chest here. He is so comfortable and quick, running at

the fenders. More great linkup play. He was brilliant. If you're going to

play well, you might as well play well in front of a smiling England

manager. He's ready to step up. He should have a chance. That is why

Roy Hodgson was there today. He deserves it. And an England player

scoring a penalty. That is valuable when you have got a World Cup coming

up. This is really clever, he makes the

goalkeeper think, Steve Harper think. He goes the right way today.

There is no way she stopping that. That is a fantastic penalty. Imagine

when you are a Southampton fan when you get a penalty, you must be in

heaven. Lambert 33, out of 33. I can't think of any other decent

Southampton penalty takers, can you? I missed a few.

The day's late kick off was at Carrow Road, where Norwich have not

lost to West Ham for 40 years, but Big Sam's side have only conceeded

one on their travels this season. John Roder saw this one. Goals have

been few and far between for these sides in the Premier League. At the

other end a huge difference, Norwich conceding plenty, West Ham very

tight at the back. Having conceded seven last weekend, John Ruddy will

hope for a quieter 90 minutes today. Bassong and Whittaker have been

dropped to the bench. Between them, these teams have scored 14 times in

the league so far. Nolan. Saved by the legs of John

Ruddy. Norwich still haven't got it clear.

Puts it in. Downing. Brave defending. West Ham still putting

pressure on, it's towards Nolan, away by Turner. Corner kick. Good

move here. Nolan with the shot. Ruddy with the block. Again the bar.

Demel with the header. Norwich scramble it clear, Cole with the

shot. West Ham right back hasn't actually scored for the club, he was

mightily close there to giving the Hammers the lead. West Ham have had

some good attempts already so far in this match, which will please Sam

Allardyce. Rat makes the run in behind the

Norwich defence, and almost in. Played across, and now it is in.

Morrison. After all the pressure in the opening exchanges of this match,

it's a goal that has been coming. Able to turn it back to Morrison, to

claim his fifth goal of the season. Norwich City nil, West Ham, one. A

never going to get across anywhere near it. Just what Norwich needed.

Norwich, two, West Ham, one. Is Much better second-half for the Norwich

hierarchy and for the Norwich faithful. Into the third minute of

Three points for Norwich. A huge, huge victory for the Canaries. What

a magnificent turn around in the second-half. Norwich trailing 1-0 at

Norwich have found goals hard to come by this season, but they have

got three-in-one hugely important second-half. Really days pointed to

go in at 1-0 down. I didn't think we deserved even though it wasn't our

better performance in that first half am we got a reaction in the

second-half. It enabled us to get back in the game. We had a few

meetings before the Man City game to say we were doing everything right,

but weren't putting the ball in the back of the net. Everything paid off

on the end of the night the way we kept going. Delighted we got three

points. It's difficult to take when we have done as much as we have. We

all know how important it was to get a result here today. Tor me that

result, on the result of balance of play, how we started, should have a

win. We have thrown it away and gifted it to Norwich. We have been

good here against Chelsea, we felt we could get back up to that level.

It's getting the results with it. We had a good second-half performance

and a very good result that went with it. It was all about that

really, wasn't it, that second-half performance? Gritty and real

character? They deserve a lot of credit this week Norwich because

they took a hammeri in g last week and the players would have been

embarrassed by the scoreline. I feared the worse at half-time. They

were booed off. Character they showed in abundance in the

second-half. They played well and got the goals they deserved. Anyone

who doesn't understand confidence is a huge thing in football, watch this

game. First half, players playing with no confidence. Second-half,

totally different players. Didn't seem to be complaints about the

penalty decision that quite possibly turned the game? I thought it was a

penalty. A bit of a soft one. A big mistake from Jaaskelainen. A rare

mistake. He should catch that. He knows that. He goes down and tries

to retrieve the ball. He doesn't touch it at all Jaaskelainen. Hooper

gets his foot there in front of him. Jaaskelainen prevents him. A soft

one. I think it's a penalty. I think it's a soft one. Hooper can probably

stay on his feet he gets the toe in and... Pressure on that penalty.

Once that went in you saw different players. This is a free-kick, as

well. Howson hits the bar. Brilliant shot. Collins run noose Snodgrass.

Snodgrass is clever. He sees him coming. He stands his crowd, a

free-kick. Wonderful free-kick. Pleased for Chris Hughton he would

have been disappointed with what happened last weekend. When that

happens as a manager you have to see a response from your players. He got

one today. , it doesn't need three has been strikers in the studio to

see what West Ham's problems are? With West Ham, Sam Allardyce has

gone without a striker. He had a lot of success he went to White Hart

Lane and put in the in the performance of the season. I mean, I

can't think it will work all season. You need a vocal point, you need one

strike tore play. With Carroll being out, they brought Cole whack back.

Whittingham. About four yellow shirts in there. If anyone had got a

touch on it, it would have been big trouble for Aston Villa.

Kozak got his head on it but just away by Marshall. A really good ball

in, Kozak did well to get his head on it. Marshall got there in the

nick of time. Tonev coming back. Fair play... He

won it but was bundled over by Tonev. A Cardiff City free kick for

he was fouled at the back post but he won't get a decision.

keeper fourth Tonev to chase. He has reached it. Westwood is in the

middle, Benteke arriving. Villa had plenty of players forward. The

header in the end went over the bar. It would have been a great breakaway

goal. Westwood first to arrive in the middle. Benteke and Kozak

arrived. The most talked about assistant manager in the game, I

would have thought. This is promising.

Bakun, Medel chasing him. That has got to be a free kick. And a yellow

card. That was pretty cynical. Seven and a half hours since Villa

scored. It is in! No wonder they celebrate because Aston Villa has

scored a goal. It is a beauty. David Marshall completely flat-footed in

the Cardiff goal. No deflection. He falls the keeper. Aston Villa lead.

-- fooled. Hands raised in the middle for the

cross. Back into Kozak, and into the net! It is a tall order now for

Cardiff City. A little bit scrappy in the end but Aston Villa will take

that. A good ball in. Headed back across goal. And Kozak found the

corner. Aston Villa, seven hours and 30 minutes without scoring, now they

have got two goals in eight minutes. Jordan Barry, side netting. Benteke,

furious he didn't get it back from Jordan Barry.

We started the game very well. You have to battle through, the lads

galvanised everything. It is one thing playing at home. The lads

today were excellent. In the second, they were

comfortable. It was 15 minutes to go when we gave away that goal. We got

punished for that but I'm not too disappointed with my team. If we

keep playing like that we will be OK. We were playing good football

but we did not finish the chances. The free kick, it looked as if you

got the keeper moving the wrong way. He never got anywhere near the ball.

He thought I was going to short -- shoot in the other corner.

Yes, a great free kick. A special goal, breaking that seven

and a half hour duck for Aston Villa.

That was a fabulous free kick, the way he gets it up and down and over

the wall. He has suddenly got a special talent taking free kicks. It

is no flash in the pan, he did it against Manchester city early in the

season. As a manager, with a player like that, in real danger in a set

piece. It is a bonus. Cardiff, Manchester United and

Arsenal for the next two games. It is not helpful, is it.

Our final game this week saw bottom of the table Crystal Palace, looking

to end a run of seven straight losses, face an Everton side who've

only been beaten once all season. John Motson was at Selhurst Park.

Caretaker Keith Millen takes charge of Crystal Palace for a third time.

Ian Moody has been appointed as their new technical director today.

They hope to appoint a new manager next week maybe on Tuesday or

Wednesday. Bolasie is the only change in the starting line-up

although there may be a more advanced role for the number eight.

Jagielka, Baines and Barkley are all in England's -- England's squad next

week. Palace, despite their poor form,

they have tremendous vocal support at Selhurst Park which is packed

today. It is very noisy. A little dummy by P now. Mirallas has

switched sides. Baines was through. Osman. The threat came from Leighton

Baines on the left-hand side, Palace have come to terms with that yet.

Deep in their penalty area, Osman steering that wide. Steve Parrish,

the Parrish chairman -- Palace chairman. And Ian Moody his

technical director. Mirallas, and Julian Speroni had to

get down to his right in what is now driving rain. Mirallas, cutting

inside, firing. Everton with more of the play. Keith Millen herding his

team can get a grip somewhere on this game. -- hoping his team.

That looked a really good chance for Palace. It just came off his head

sideways rather than forward. Coming out to Bolasie, a good ball

to Bannan. They just can't believe it, can they? Barry Bannan with the

cross, and it was Chamakh who couldn't guide his header inside the

post. Thomas in a central position, the

flag stayed down, Jerome Thomas for Crystal Palace, he has missed it! My

goodness, what an opportunity. Everton were looking for offside.

Probably just level, that is what the assistant referee decided. He

attempted to chip Tim Howard and it went the wrong side of the post. I

think Keith Millen will look back on that and maybe feel it was the best

chance of the match. Coleman on the run from right back.

Good play by Moxey but not a good pass.

Deulofeu for Everton. It came off Gabbidon. A corner.

This is where Palace have got to be so careful. Again, Jagielka and

Distin. Again, Lukaku, he has hit the bar.

Jagielka. He came in behind Lukaku who took the defenders away. The

Everton captain strike -- striking the crossbar, it could so easily

have won the game. He got a good power on it, and Distin couldn't

turn it in either. Everton continued to press. Delaney

nearly gave it away. A moment of real danger. The last

five minutes have belonged to Everton.

A relief for Crystal Palace. One or two moments you can only describe as

sheer panic in the Palace defence before the Deulofeu's shot went

wide. They are not going to go down without a fight. Whoever takes over

here is not going to have any worries about the spirit in the

dressing room or in the crowd. Very proud of the players. As the

game went, Everton had a lot of possession but we created the

clearest chances. We should have had all three points. We will take one

point. We had a couple of half chances. We

should have made a little bit better of it. A bit frustrated every time

the ball went out of play, it took ages to come back in.

They are trying to get out of their predicament. They are home, their

fans getting behind the team. They created a couple of chances, fair

play to them. They stuck to their game plan. They will be happier with

the one point than we are. Have you had a word with the chairman, will

you be in charge for the next game? I do not know. I will just enjoy

tonight. We have all worked very hard. I want the players to enjoy

it, we can come away with a smile on our face.

Appointment expected to be made next week. They have had a run of seven

straight defeats. Everton had most of the possession. Palace had some

chances. They did. They don't create too

many, Crystal Palace. Today they had three really good chances. The first

two, that one, he was trying to head it before it was even there. Getting

there too early. A sign of desperation, they need composter.

Jerome Thomas had it. Putting it over. Three big chances, you would

expect them to score one. In that position, you should score.

You should score. I have been in that position before. I would never

say you should do anything different. The goalkeeper was off

his line. He chose the right thing. Get your foot behind it and smash

it. Always one for a bit of power. I thought that would be a sign of

power rather than finesse and control. At least you look control.

I remember asking you. And you said, I always tried to be a little more

creative, then all the confidence come back -- comes back.

Liverpool closed to within two points of Arsenal. Southampton's

best ever start to a top-flight season. Crystal Palace drew and are

awarded to Chelsea. A report that Martin Jol is on the

verge of losing his job after yet another defeat.
