For Liverpool, there can be no more stumbles. They have two win here.

Moving three points clear. Crystal Palace have come back! 3-2 re-! --

3-3. Winning one more and the tablets back. Why can't they just

roll over and let us when! -- and let us.

The final day of the magnificent Barclays Premier League season began

with two teams in contention for the title. Man City were favourites but

despite the collapse at Crystal Palace, Liverpool still dared to

dream. Plenty of emotion coming up and that is just the studio. Alan

Shearer and Alan Hansen, making his final appearance after 22 years.

Only one place to start - could Man City become champions for the second

time in three seasons? Manuel Pellegrini's side knew a point

against West Ham with secure the title. One more point needed, one

last day of drama. We have learned to take nothing from granted in this

season. -- for granted. Only one change to the side. James Milner

side. And there was much focus on the former Liverpool men, Stuart

Downing and Andy Carroll as well as the captain, Kevin Nolan. Superb

atmosphere around the stadium. It has been building, there has been

tension. To array finding Silva. -- yeah Toure. And there was a shout

for handball. I do not think Mark Noble could have done anything about

that. It does hit his hand, but that was purely accidental. Toure. Lovely

touch from Aguero, Silva with the return. He could not quite stretch

far enough. No one was in the way. Garcia finding Zabaleta. Lovely

clip. That was too high from Silva. It blazed over the crossbar football

of a sudden, Manchester City went go. That cross was almost perfect.

If he had put that away, it would have been perfect. Man City only

need the draw but West Ham do not do those. 14 Premier League games

without one. Toure. Back to Zabeleta. It looked like there was

contact, there. Enough to warrant the foul and the penalty. No sign of

any nerves among the Manchester City players. They are able to deal with

the extra pressure. Zabeleta, one of those typical charges. He almost put

Samir Nasri off. Garcia. Kolarov, he can shoot from range. What a shot!

It looked like it was tipped over the bar. Wonderful save, the

neighing Kolarov that Blockbuster goal. It was rising over, anyway.

The Spaniard in the goal could not afford to take that chance. Samir

Nasri. He has gone for the shot. And he scores! That was an absolute

cracker. You can feel the noise around the stadium. One blast

towards the title. They have knocked it around. Trying to find their way

through. West Ham were keeping Manchester City I'd. Until this,

from Samir Nasri. The best way is the most direct. Just have a go. He

could not have had that any sweeter. There was a lot of swerve.

Manchester City one, West Ham United zero. That was a huge tension

reliever. Samir Nasri has got all of his goals except for one of them at

the Etihad Stadium. The other one came at Monday. By the concentration

starts. Samir Nasri. Sama letter. Fully focus on his attacking job.

Aguero! Wide. James Tomkins was with him. Toure. Samir Nasri. Spinning

behind for the corner. One last chance to make it 2-0 before the

break. Toure. He finds Silva. Through the gap! That was deflected

onto the bar by Andy Carroll. And that will do it for the first-half.

That will do very nicely for Manchester City and all of their

supporters. Bury nearly 2-0 on the stroke of half-time. Almost over the

line. Only one West Ham win in the last 17 meetings of these clubs in

the last eight years. Only two West Ham wins in their last 25 League

games away to Manchester City. Kolarov. He was impeded. Free kick,

no card for Stuart Downing. He has not collected at football season.

This is a chance for Manchester City. Samir Nasri will try to create

something. And it was defended. It will go behind for the corner. Samir

Nasri will take that also. Kolarov, on the run. Vincent Kompany scores!

Four weeks ago, it was Kompany's clanger at Anfield that looks like

handing the title to Liverpool. He has now put Manchester City even

closer to being the champions, themselves. And to him lifting the

trophy at the end of the afternoon. The touch of a striker from Kompany.

There could be no more popular and goal-scorer than the captain today.

2-0. And to think, some Manchester City supporters have only known joy

and success. They will get the tales of old from the others! Using every

blade of grass on this page. Three in the box. Aguero. The day will not

be complete until he has scored. He was never likely to put that one in.

The man in charge of Manchester City on a day-to-day basis. He cannot

suppress his smiles. He will be joining in with the songs in a

pulled away from Tomkins beautifully. I have never seen him

do that before. We will not see him do that again. A photograph taken on

but plenty behind that. They are on their feet, all around the stadium.

We have played every two minutes of added on time. Just waiting for the

whistle, the signal for Manchester to go absolutely mad with

celebrations. Manchester City have their crime back! Last, Manchester

went red but the sky is blue. Once more. Manuel Pellegrini has

masterminded and Chester City becoming Premier League champions

for the second time in three years. -- Manchester City. We just needed

the draw, but the whole season, we have played attacking football, on

the offensive. It is a great place to be at the moment, we have given

the fans positive football all season and we have 12 trophies, so I

guess the way you can sum it up is this club is going to become a big

club --we have won two trophies. After the game, I spoke to a

slightly the drug called Manuel Pellegrini. Many congratulations.

-- slightly bedraggled. You got there in the end. Yes, it was a long

season. A very tough league, and we had three teams fighting for the

title, so at the moment, it is the strongest league in the world. I am

very proud to manage this team and win this league. A few weeks ago,

nine points behind with two games in hand, you must have thought it would

be difficult. The whole season was very difficult. It is not easy to

come to the Premier League. We didn't start very well at the

beginning, especially in the games we played away. We had four points

from the first 18, but I think that was a key moment of the season,

because I talked with the players and I told them they must continue

playing the same way. They believed in me and continued and after that,

we had a lot of points away and at home, we had a brilliant season.

When we lost against Liverpool, that was so important, to keep our mind

and not give up, hoping the other team can lose points. They did and

we continued winning our five games in a row. Two years ago, Manchester

City won the title. I know you weren't the manager then, but they

failed in the summer to add to the squad and didn't defend the title.

Will you learn from that and try and bring in one or two new players this

summer? Well, we are going to celebrate today and tomorrow and we

are going to start working maybe on Tuesday for next season. I think

that this club must always improve. We are going to study the whole

club, what we did, the whole season, what we succeeded and what we failed

out and we will look to go strong again.

GARY SPEAKS IN SPANISH. The title is decided, so many swings

this season, but they saw it out in good style. They did what they had

to do, nothing spectacular. It was like the other evening against Aston

Villa, never did I think they were in any danger, always comfortable.

They kept on playing, like the other night, and once they got the first

call, they were never under any threat. West Ham didn't have any

efforts on target and once again, their big players performed. But it

hasn't all been plain sailing the season. Pellegrini mentioned it, to

begin with, their away form was very poor. The first six away games, look

at that. Not only does it prove that it takes players time to adjust to

the Premier League, it also proves it takes time for managers to get

used to it and the players stuck with him and as they said, they

believed in him, they believed in his way and the waveform certainly

picked up. -- the away form. Last season, 66 goals they scored. 102

this year, so you can tell where they have improved. But when it

really mattered, the business end of the season, last five games, they

really want them. -- they won them. When the pressure is on, they

handled it. Two years ago, a lot of players in the squad had the

experience, but it was a big game for me, there has been a few, was

Everton a couple of weeks ago. They showed their character, 1-0 down,

didn't panic. Great goal from Ross Barkley, but the big players, Toure

into Aguero, very good finish, gets them back on to level terms. He goes

off injured and this shows the strength of the squad. Fernandinho

comes on, allowing Toure to push forward and Dzeko, who has been a

huge player for them in the last five or six months, came in and

scored the goals, but this is as good as a goal. What a save that is.

What a comeback he has made this season. 90 seconds later, they go

back up the other end and instead of being 2-2, it is 3-1. Dzeko again.

Goals when they need them most. They have scored over 100 goals this

season, much more fluent, but he hasn't damaged them at the other end

of the pitch is statistically. Well, the first four or five away, they

were poor, but I think Demichelis has been a big player for them. When

he first came, we slaughtered him, thought he was slow and impetuous

and dived in, but towards the end, he was like a rock. The three teams

going for the title, Chelsea are the best at getting men behind the ball

and soaking up pressure and hitting on the break. Liverpool had this

explosion of pace and blew everyone away. In the middle, the perfect

structure is Manchester City, who can do it at both ends. I don't

think I have seen a team in Premier League history moving the ball

better than this present Manchester City team. It is exceptional at

getting hold of the ball, moving it and working teams and they get

dividends in the last ten or 15 minutes. A lot of credit has to go

to Pellegrini. Absolutely and I was very impressed when he left Joe Hart

out earlier in the season, the whole of England was asking what if he is

not playing come the World Cup and there was no pressure, he said I

will do it my way, took him out of the firing line and when it was

right, put him back in. When he felt it was right, not when the whole

country was screaming. I thought the way he handled it was perfect. They

handled the situation perfectly, when they came under real pressure,

trailing behind Liverpool, they kept on winning. It is essential dressing

room and that is credit to the manager. There is a sense, from

Manchester City fans, that they don't get enough credit, because of

the money invested all when they are successful, there is not enough

credit. Do they deserve this victory? After 38 games, if you win

the title, you deserve it. You can't be lucky for 38 games. Worthy

winners. Great to watch week after week. You don't agree with Greg Dyke

that it is depressing that Manchester City have won the title?

If you look at Manchester City and the money they have spent, they

should win it. They have spent a lot of money, but they have got some

great players that are brilliant to watch and great for the Premier

League. Congratulations to them. So there will be no first title in 24

years in Liverpool, but could they round off a memorable season with

victory over Newcastle? Steve Wilson was at Anfield.

Astra sometimes sensational season, Liverpool are at least in the title

equation on the final date for the first time in the Premier League

era, but they are, of course, realistic. Jordan Henderson is back,

Lucas makes way. Daniel Agger comes in. They need one more goal to reach

a century for the season. Newcastle have not won here for 20 years. They

are without Loic Remy because of a knee injury. He has now presumably

played his last game for the club. Steven Taylor, who came on and

scored last weekend after three months out injured, comes into a

back five. Henderson injecting a bit of urgency

into Liverpool's play. The reward is Suarez has it and he is blocked off

by Vernon Anita. Good play by Henderson.

Suarez puts it in the net, but it is not going to count. Suarez hit it

and was immediately off celebrating. And Phil Dowd equally quickly said

that is not going to count. What about this the quick thinking?

I think the ball might just be moving. I am not sure. But what a

finish it was. The ball is just about emotion. It is a fantastic

piece of thinking and brilliant execution. -- just about in motion.

The referee is looking the other way when he takes it, but he did

immediately say it isn't going to count.

Watcom trusting seasons they have had. -- what contrasting.

Oh, it is an own goal. Martin Skrtel has put the ball into the back of

his own net. It is his fourth own goal this season. And Newcastle have

the lead at Anfield. It is a good build-up. Martin Skrtel

sticks of a foot out and deflects it at a pace beyond Mignolet and into

the corner of his own net. Own goals against Hull City, West Ham, Swansea

and now Newcastle this season. Yug Gouffran could make it a two!

Mignolet makes the save. And Vernon Anita goes high into the cop.

Beautifully played by Newcastle. Gouffran just couldn't find the

finish. I don't think anyone entertained

Newcastle winning here but that is what is happening.

When Daniel Sturridge heads wide from that range, you have got to

think it might not be your day. In behind the defence almost for the

first time, Liverpool, and Sturridge, goal gaping, header wide.

Raheem Sterling caught by Vernon Anita. The card is coming out for

the Newcastle midfielder. Back post is Daniel Agger! And it is

in. Liverpool are level, it is their 100th league goal of the season, the

first time they have achieved that since 1896. And Daniel Agger scores

the equaliser, from a very tight angle. Good piece of athleticism.

And Liverpool are level. Liverpool free kick again. Tiote's

reaction is going to get him in the referee's notebook. Well, just as

Liverpool were looking bereft of ideas, they just upped the tempo a

bit. They found an equaliser and the crowd has found its voice.

And it is in! Daniel Sturridge for Liverpool. Two goals in two

minutes, and Liverpool are in front. Two very similar goals.

Steven Gerrard's free kick. It is almost Groundhog Day. For Daniel

Agger, read Sturridge. There has been a card here shown to

Shola Ameobi. I am not sure, but as Newcastle regrouped, Shola Ameobi

has been shown a second yellow card, and is sent off.

Well, he was booked as they were regrouping to kick off, for dissent,

I can only imagine, and the debate continued, and Shola Ameobi has been

sent off and Newcastle have now had players sent off in each of their

last four games against Liverpool. Sammy Ameobi almost wriggling

through. Free kick. Henderson forward to Suarez. He is

claiming a free kick, Luis Suarez and he has one, against Paul

Dummett. There is a defender behind Dummett. Suarez hasn't really got

that under control. It has hit him on the back of the leg. It is a red

card! And Newcastle are down to nine. The substitute has been sent

off. What is it about Newcastle and Liverpool? Four off in the last five

meetings. There is the whistle. Seldom has

such a remarkable season finished without silverware. But Brendan

Rodgers' Liverpool have won 26 games out of 38. They have scored three or

more 21 times, but they are only runners-up.

You take your hat to Manchester City. You know we know they have a

huge squad of multitalented players and I am just extremely proud of my

club, the supporters over the course of the season have really been given

that chance to dream in the hope that we can challenge and we have

done that right to the last kick. You have to argue that the referee

has played a part today. I didn't think the first free kick they

scored from was a free kick. I have seen Phil Dowd about his explanation

for sending Ameobi. I know he doesn't swear. He booked him for

dissent for challenging the free kick, and the version is that he

said "do you want to be to send you off? " And he did. And Paul is a

young lad, that was not a sending off. We are proud of the staff and

the club, we have achieved what we wanted to, but to go so close, it is

difficult. We have had a difficult second half of the season, and me

personally, and we are not far away and if we can recruit strongly, we

will come back strongly. It has taken me until I'm 33 to have a

proper genuine title race. This squad is very young and the

experience those lads are going to get from this roller-coaster, as you

described it, is going to be very important, because I believe the

title is not far away if we continue to produce performances like this

season. Keep trying, Stevie. Alan, when you retire 24 years ago, you

were the last captain to lift the title for Liverpool. I bet you

didn't think that 24 years on, you would still be waiting? Not at all.

When we won the title in 1990 and did the lap of honour, it was muted

applause, whereas this season, they would have gone ballistic. They took

it for granted. Almost, yes. The season, they were so close, but the

pleasure they have given everybody, especially at Anfield, you cannot

believe the football they were playing and the goals they were

scoring and the excitement. This explosion of pace, with five front

players that were just so difficult to pick up. Suarez at the top, who

obviously one footballer of the year. It was enthralling to watch.

There was that good run. Fantastic run.

Up to Christmas we were thinking, well, Champions League would be

fine, this incredible run where they just blew everybody away, I think it

was 11 wins and a draw before after they beat Man City and it wasn't

just winning them, it was the way they won them. Everton came to

Anfield with expectation and Liverpool blew them away pace and

quality. This is Sturridge. Then Arsenal came and were top of the

table. You couldn't believe what we were saying, four up in the first 20

minute, could have been seven. Then when the questions were asked,

tricky away game at Southampton, they were answering them more than

emphatically. The next game was at Old Trafford, probably the biggest

rivals, and they blew them out the water. At that stage, it was the

thinking that Liverpool could have been winning the title, they were

that good. Back to 2-2 with Man City, the late win fresh Coutinho

and the thing about that goal was that it was now in their own hands.

Look at the caption there. It begs the question, does this

season go down as a success or a failure? Oh, it's an absolute

failure, an absolute failure. Get into that position with four games

to go. If you would have gone in the dressing room today they wouldn't be

celebrating anything. It will be massive disappointment. He's

received a lot of plaudits for the style and the great football they've

played, but does he receive an element of the blame? Well, you

would do, but I mean, I think you cannot give them all the praise in

the world for playing one way then when it goes wrong say you shouldn't

have played that way. What I said before about Manchester City, it's

like they have got to redefine the structure a bit that when they have

got in front at times, they have got to sit back. Crystal Palace was a

great example of that. There were warning signs about this. Against

Manchester City, 2-0 up, they didn't have the ball for 30 minutes, then

against Norwich, you know, 3-1 up, comes back to 3-2 in the 80th

minute. A great save by Mignolet and against Chelsea, everybody said

about Chelsea, Liverpool didn't play well on the day. Their passing was

off, the big players didn't play that well and subsequently they got

beaten, you know. You've got Steven Gerrard here, this is a poor pass.

Ran out of steam a bit? Well, I just think because they had this great

run, and Alan will tell you, you can't play well every time you go on

the pitch. Suarez is the best player and he had not a great day. Against

Crystal Palace, 3-0 up, come back to 3-1 with this goal, a bit naive

trying to go for broke and, you could never envisage what was going

to happen in the next five or six minutes to get back to 3-3. So I

think at the start of the season you would have bitten your hand off to

get second and be in the Champions League, but I think four games to

go, you've got the title on your own hands, it's failure. He's certain of

his team, are you certain of your team, Newcastle? If they hadn't seen

any football, you come back at the league and see Newcastle at mid

table, you would think it's an improvement on the last year but

they have been disastrous the last five months. They need to sign

players, they haven't signed one permanently for 18 months. Says a

lot. The title returns to Manchester for the fourth year in a row while

Liverpool's wait goes on. Eight more games on the way.

Before that, it's time to choose your goal of the season, the two

Alans have put it down to six. Cazorla. Wilshere. Going for the

one-two. Giroud. And Wilshere! Oh that, is simply

magnificent. What a move. It really is such a

simple game. When simple football is played, it's a simple game when it's

played ex-was zitly. -- ex-was zitly. . Exquisitely

Brilliant shot into the back of the net and what a goal for Fulham.

Cassini's struck a shot from the wicked angle. He took it on the

chest, that is a special, special goal. You will not see a better

strike from that in the Premier League this season.

Suarez. Good effort. That is absolutely stunning.

Who else would even have thought of trying it? ! Just look at this.

Carroll underneath this one. Diame stretching. It's away. Rooney with

the turn and he goes for the extraordinary and oh, it's an

unbelievable goal from Wayne Rooney. There's one for the album and

there's the man who knows how to score goals like that!

And Rooney's improvisation catching out Adrian.

Four to aim for in the middle. O'Shea. Tettey. What a shot! What a

goal! What a goal! Alexander Tettey. What

a strike. Awesome from the Norwegian.

Shelvey will go for it! Jonjo Shelvey with a spectacular

finish. Out of the very top drawer, Shelvey

with the perfect execution. He didn't even look at the target, he

just knew instinctively what he wanted to do.

Just one outstanding issue still to be settled. Could Spurs get the

point they needed to secure a place in next season's Europa League? John

Tim Sherwood likened how he's been treated to a teacher rather than a

headmaster. Lennon joins a long injury list.

Villa's owner is due to make a statement this week. He may decide

to sell the club. Paul Lambert's side need new investment either way.

Villa haven't got a good record against Tottenham in the league

games they have played. They haven't beaten them in their last ten.

Alessandro initially. Naughton took advantage from coming back from

rightback. Adebayor coming in from the far

post. Sigurdsson. Nice turn. Oh, and Palinho is going

to score -- Paulinho. The Brazilian puts Tottenham Hotspur ahead at

White Hart Lane in their final game. It was slick by Tottenham. Two or

three good passes around the penalty area. Guzan got his hands to the

ball, but Paulinho powered up, had a go, a second go, then powered it in.

He's put Tim Sherwood's side ahead in what could be their last game

together. As things stand, Spurs are in the

Europa League next season. Rose. Ericsson.

Near post ball stayed in play. Danny Rose with the cross and it's

gone in. Adebayor. Well, it was a bit of an accident in

the end. Villa reel which with their own worst enemies there -- really

were their own worst enemies there. It took a long time to come back in.

They are given an own goal by Nathan Baker who's had many of those in his

career. Adebayor was certainly the threat there.

Oh, what a great ball for Harry Kane by Ericsson and he just got caught

because he was a about to shoot by Delph and it would have been 3-0 to

Tottenham. Good through-ball. Just got to it,

Delph. Ericsson will take the corner.

Oh and it's Alessandro. There may have been an arm up there, the

referee has given Tottenham a penalty.

Well, it's all going Tottenham's way here. A penalty out of nothing here.

I don't quite know whether Agbonlahor meant to handle that, but

a penalty's been given. Adebayor to take it.

He scores and it's 3-0 spurs in the first half.

Tim Sherwood has reason to feel pleased. He wanted to send the fans

home happy for the summer and it looks as though he's going to do

that. Harry Kane.

In the middle here is Agbonlahor for Aston Villa and that was their best

move of the match. Delph has probably been Villa's most

dangerous. Tim Sherwood is giving this fan the thrill of a lifetime as

he takes his seat on the Tottenham frontbench!

Very nice gesture by Sherwood that. That guy sits up there every week

you know and he's telling me, get him off he's rubbish, he's an

embarrassment, he's an expert you know, so I invited him to come and

show us. Where is he in the betting for the new manager? He's English.

Lot of talk about an announcement. How's it been for you work around

that uncertainty? It's been fine. I think people are thinking about what

the chairman is going to say. It's his club and he'll say what he's

going to say and myself and the players are get on with it. When I

look back, it's an inceebl achievement to stay in the league. I

love doing this job, you know. My life is easier if I was ant football

manager but I want to be involved in football, always have been, it's all

I know and I know I want to continue doing it. It's been a bit different

at times, but in many ways, he's a breath of fresh air and hasn't done

a bad job with Tottenham? So I think he had a hard job and he steadied

the ship and he has the players playing for him and he's done a

remarkably good job. It begs the question, what does he need to do to

keep the job, obviously win more matches but they should give him a

chance, I think so anyway. They have not treated him brilliantly, not let

him know what is going on. Considering how long he's been

there, he deserves a bit more respect I think. Similar scenario at

Aston Villa, Paul Lambert under pressure? The rumour is that the own

Searle looking to sell and the sooner they find out the better

because they flirted with relegation last year and have been flirting

again this year. They have got a lot of inexperienced young guys in that

team. Need a bit more experience in there. OK. Well, Norwich still had a

mathematical chance of avoiding relegation but to do so, they needed

to beat Arsenal and overturn a 17-goal deficit on West Brom. It

would have been a lot higher in the running order if that had occurred.

Dank was at Carrow Road. If you are looking for a miracle, it

won't be today. Norwich need an 18 goal swing to avoid relegation, that

is one more than they have scored here all season. Nathan Redmond

comes into Whitaker, L Manda leads the line --Yarn Manda. Kieran Gibbs

returns Ross Perot. Jack Wilshere is fit and on the bench, that is great

news for Roy Hodgson. One point from four for Neil Adams so far, but

point against Chelsea last Sunday. Redmond with the shot! Draws a fine

save from Fabianski. Malky Mackay was linked with the

Norwich job in the last few days, a former player here. We'll Neil Adams

stay next season as the full-time boss or in a coaching role under

someone like Malky Mackay? We will see.

John Ruddy, big and strong, visit the way. He has had to have a good

season -- beads it away. Olivier Giroud! John Ruddy again

comes to the Canaries' rescue. The gunners are starting to pick their

moves and pick their chances. Giroud on the turn, and once again,

John Ruddy is therefore Norwich. A busy goalkeeper, an impressive

goalkeeper so far. A bit of "look at me" for Roy Hodgson here from John

Ruddy. Giroud looks for Aaron Ramsey! What

a finish! What a finish. And the man who began the season in such stellar

form and then got injured, had he been fit for the full campaign, what

might have been for Arsenal, I wonder. Aaron Ramsey with a dream, a

peach of a volley, and the Gunners are in front. Giroud makes it and

how does Ramsey finish it? It is a wonderful goal. No team has led the

table for longer than the Gunners this season, this is a one that got

away campaign for them. Kieran Gibbs into Podolski... And

Jenkinson has his first ever senior goal. The left back makes it, the

writeback scores it. And . Carl Jenkinson, signed from

Charlton three years ago, never scored for anybody before today. Now

he has. Beating away from Fabianski. Looking

for his first Norwich goal in his first Norwich game. The young man

bought in Jamaica. And a shot which draws the best from Fabianski. The

result does mean that Norwich are confirmed as relegated. It has been

on the cards for a while, but now we can save the sure that after three

top-flight years, the Canaries are back in the Championship.

back in Was the damage done long before you

came in for those final games? Of course, it is a 38 game season and

you need to pick up enough points over those games. We are in the

bottom three and the analysis will be done by everybody who needs to do

that. I am not passing the buck, but it is a 38 game season and you have

to pick up points. I am pleased because we got a clean sheet. It is

the 17th, I think, in the season, and our 11th away win, that is the

best so overall, I believe we have been consistent away from home.

Arsenal fourth, we have heard that before in recent times. Aaron

Ramsey, goal of the season contender! A couple of seasons ago,

much maligned and this season, they missed him so badly when he wasn't

playing. He has scored some spectacular goals this season but

this is fantastic. The technique is brilliant, I on the ball. Speaking

at the way he takes a couple of steps back. So he is in a position

to hit it. They have missed him massively. Norwich are down, of

course. Simple to work out why, they can't score. 28 goals. Only three

teams in Premier League history have scored less. Gary Hooper and Ricky

Van Wolfswinkel, seven goals between them, ?15 million. It is not good

enough. And another team who we don't know who the manager will be

next season. Apparently, they might announce it next week. Malky Mackay

is available after sorting out his compensation at Cardiff, so he is

free. They will want to bounce straight back. Yes, good club.

Cardiff's return to the top flight proved to be short lived and the

Bluebirds bowed out on home turf against Chelsea side that would have

to settle for third place in Jose Mourinho's season back in charge. --

side. David Marshall, outstanding this campaign, was voted the Cardiff

on target? Possibly. Craig Bellamy will claim it, absolutely no doubt

about it. Chance for Oscar, which he doesn't

take. Shaping to shoot but diverted wide by Turner. Cardiff Rono Vincent

Tan told the BBC this weekend that he would consider changing their

colours back to blue, but only if they were promoted back to the

Premier League -- Cardiff owner. It looked to be an impossible task

for Fraizer Campbell. Look how many defenders are ahead of him. He got

past them but couldn't keep the shot down.

Azpilicueta! Brilliant save by Marshall. Against the bar by

Azpilicueta and eventually in by Andre Schurrle. On as a substitute,

he makes it one -1. Azpilicueta almost getting his team back on

level terms. It is a brilliant save from Marshall to deny the defender,

who then strikes the bar from the rebound and Marshall a little

unlucky that the ball bounces up over him from Andre Schurrle.

Chelsea back on level terms. That is much better from Jose

Mourinho's team and having got the equaliser, what lies in store in the

rest of this match? Andre Schurrle with a little touch,

Torres! 2-1, Chelsea. Two goals in quick succession for the visitors

and they have turned it around in their favour. Torres' 11th goal of

the season, but only his fifth in the Premier League. And Marshall

really had no chance. 1-0 down, Chelsea lead 2-1.

Confirmation to me that when we stick together, we are hard to beat

and we can create problems. It is a victory, we are disappointed that it

means nothing in terms of the table, but they mean something for us,

because we always want to play well and always want to win. We are going

to make sure that we keep hold of the most important ones, we will

look to strengthen and there will be changes and they might be changes

United's worst ever Premier League campaign. They faced Southhampton,

one place above them. For whom of a curtain call?

Southhampton's England hopefuls after the World Cup in the summer,

their manager possibly after Spurs? Ryan Giggs makes seven but doesn't

of youth and experience. Can they push on and finish higher than

Southampton led somewhat controversially in the first half.

Manchester have bossed the second half, level with a fantastic goal

and might have gone on to win it. Those Manchester United fans will

hope their dancing is a jig of delight and celebration at the end

of next season. This season has been too much dismay and defeat.

Next season may well bring a brighter future. Roy Hodgson was in

the crowd. I'm sure he's made up his mind. Will there be an anxious 24

hours? Probably the most anxious of my life. It's something that I'll

always remember for the rest of my life. What happens next, are you

still as much in the dark as everybody else? I'll chat with the

Hull city player of the season up from the back.

Well, he should have got that. Last league goal of the campaign would

have been fitting had it been player of the season. He won the fans award

and team-mates award. The City supporters want a

grandstand finale here. The momentum is going to be truly

building at this point. It's been a demanding campaign and

you can understand that maybe we dropped, but that wasn't the case. I

thought the team made sure that we finished really strongly to finish

the season with 15 clean sheets and 72 points is a remarkable season. We

have been safe with two games to go, I didn't think that was going to be

possible at the start of the season so we've got to a Cup Final, it's

had the huge distraction that I thought it might. Mind you, you

could say we've had nothing to play for and the human brain switches

off. Unfortunately we have done that, so we are in bright and early

tomorrow and we have to get ourselves ready because we are

playing the Cup Final next week so need to get back on the gas. Great

day out for Hull City? Great. They have had a great season. Never been

in danger of relegation and, as Steve says, Cup Final. Everton,

Lukaku scoring there, he's been a great on-loan signer, possibly his

last game, interesting to see what happens? This is a great team goal

and Martinez has had a terrific time, Martinez tried to win every

game. The passing and moving here is exceptional. Osman plays a great

through-ball to Lukaku who's been a great loan signing and the two loan

signings, for Everton, they have been as good as they get.

The big question is, will they be able to keep them at the end of the

season? Do you think Chelsea should get Lukaku in? They have struggled

with strikers? Great move for Lukaku. I think Chelsea have missed

a different option at times. I still need to be convinced he'll talk

Chelsea to where they want to go which is ultimately the Champions

League. OK. Sunderland's Great Escape from relegation was confirmed

with victory over West Brom on Wednesday. Could they make it five

in a row against Swansea who this week confirmed Gary Monk will manage

them next season. Borini was part of the team that

helped Swansea into the Premier League. He's played a major part in

Sunderland staying in it as he plays the final game of his loan spell.

He's been in tandem with Wickham. Bonni's goals have been pivotal in

Swansea's survival. It was in the North East that

Newcastle, and it was absolutely pivotal in their survival mission in

the end, that Routledge... Oh, beautifully weighted into Dyer and

Swansea are in front the inside seven minutes.

The party atmosphere's been dampened early on at the Stadium of Light.

Look at the weight of pass. First touch was good, second was a

clinical one. Sunderland have played the last five

games with such intensity. Marvin Emnes with a lovely turn and

they be without his 16 league goals -- sent it past Vincent Benoni.

Tremmel got across just in time. Win, lose or draw, they are

determined to enjoy and celebrate the fact that, from nowhere, they

are staying in the Premier League. The way we have had this season, the

ups and downs, the change of manager, we had to finish on a

positive and take it into the summer and come back like that next season.

The newspapers have speculation about your future. It is natural in

England. Even when you do a little bit, not a lot, a little bit, they

say this is an opportunity. I am concentrating on here, that we do

the right things in the summer and we make no mistakes and give

ourselves a better chance next year. A good end to the season for both

sides, better than Swansea today, because they came out good winners.

Yes, they have won three of their last four matches. At one stage,

they looked like they were in massive trouble. I saw them play at

Anfield and they lost 4-3, but I was impressed with the way they play.

Bony is big and strong, can play, scores goals, a perfect combination.

And Garry Monk has been given the job permanently. He has earned it.

Rightly so, he has a great record. They were in trouble and he got them

playing and it looks like they were too good to go down. It must please

you to see Sunderland doing well? Believe me, it does. It is good for

the north-east. There were seven points adrift a month ago, it shows

you the job they have done, going to Chelsea and City Man United, picking

up points. Five points clear of third bottom. That is the beauty of

the Premier League, a team in big trouble can go to these teams and

win. The Premier League said farewell to Fulham this season after

13 seasons in the top flight. The visitors were Crystal Palace, whose

points against Liverpool meant they could finish no longer than -- no

lower than 11th. Felix Magath looks to future already

in making five changes today. Among them coming, 19-year-old forward

Woodrow. Dwight Gayle's reward for two goals against Liverpool in the

remarkable draw is a start and Tony Pulis gives a debut to Wayne

Hennessey and goal, a mid-season arrival from Wolves. -- in goal.

What about Crystal Palace, what a season and what a turnaround.

get back to the Premier League in double quick time.

It gives us hope that it will be better in the future, because, yeah,

I think we have played quite well, but we forgot to score. For me, it

was a good start in a new area. It would have been a great result to

come and win here in a London derby. It was an entertaining game, lots of

chances both ends. But I'm really pleased with the players, they have

been absolutely wonderful this year. They have done brilliantly,

they really have. Dwight Gayle scoring four goals in his last two

games. They used to have Ian Wright and Mark Bright and now they have

kept up his good form. The first finish was just instinctive. Joel

Ward tries the spectacular, and a poacher's instinct, decent finish.

Right place, right time and a little flick. Seven goals in eight starts,

I think. I am not sure what the wall is doing, but he curls it around

very nicely. Tony Pulis has done a magnificent job, absolutely

magnificent. Brilliant. As for Fulham, a shocker of a season. They

lost 85 goals, the second-highest in a 38 league game Premier League

history. The worst is 89, so it goes without saying you are in massive

trouble before you start. There is no way it will keep you in the

division. A number of managers, no stability. It doesn't help, does it?

As Alan says, too many goals conceded, too many managers, no

stability. Where do you start? Stoke needed just a point from their final

game against West Brom to guarantee a top half finish the first time in

the Premier League. It is six years since either of these teams tasted

victory on the final day of the season. Martin Fisher was there.

Sidelined by an Achilles problem, Jonas Olsson returns to West Brom as

they waved goodbye to a season to forget. Pepe Mel may be saying his

farewells early next week. With little to cheer about, the Albion
