Hello. With just under a month to go now in the Premier League season,

:00:51.:00:56.

nothing's been decided, and we have six games of great significance.

:00:57.:01:26.

Robbie Fowler and Paul Ince are here to appraise

:01:27.:01:37.

Robbie Fowler and Paul Ince are here ahead of all of today's games up and

:01:38.:01:37.

down the country, ahead of all of today's games up and

:01:38.:01:42.

Liverpool fans who lost their lives at Hillsborough on that

:01:43.:02:51.

An appropriate silence ahead of the 25th anniversary itself on Tuesday.

:02:52.:02:58.

To the action, and a meeting between the teams who were third and fourth

:02:59.:03:02.

from bottom at kick-off. Fulham were five points behind Norwich and

:03:03.:03:05.

safety, but looking to cut that to two, with the Canaries facing a

:03:06.:03:08.

fearsome run-in and having sacked their manager this week. John Roder

:03:09.:03:10.

was at Craven Cottage. Neal Adams takes charge of Norwich

:03:11.:03:26.

for the first time. It is going to be a tense afternoon at Craven

:03:27.:03:31.

Cottage, with five huge matches remaining for both of these sites.

:03:32.:03:37.

Hugo Rodallega scored a late winner last weekend and he starts today in

:03:38.:03:42.

the only change. Scott Parker is on the bench, having missed five games

:03:43.:03:48.

with a knee injury. Manager Adams makes six changes in total, all of

:03:49.:03:57.

them tactical. Michael Turner is playing for the first time since New

:03:58.:04:02.

Year's Day. Norwich City, who have lost their last six away matches, up

:04:03.:04:09.

against a full side who have taken only 13 points at Craven Cottage

:04:10.:04:15.

this season. -- a Fulham side. That was David Stockdale in the Fulham

:04:16.:04:22.

goal, and he saw it all the way. Six minutes played this afternoon, and

:04:23.:04:28.

that means it is exactly 20 hours of Premier League football since Ricky

:04:29.:04:32.

van Wolfswinkel scored in the Premier League, back on the opening

:04:33.:04:37.

day of the season. And boy, do they need a goal from him to day? Fulham

:04:38.:04:45.

have lost five of their last six here at Craven Cottage, conceding at

:04:46.:04:50.

least two goals in all five of those matches. That was Fulham's best

:04:51.:04:57.

chance of the match so far. It all stemmed from the long ball forward.

:04:58.:05:02.

It was an awkward angle for Rodallega, but he struck it cleanly.

:05:03.:05:08.

Fulham, given real hope of avoiding the drop by their victory at Aston

:05:09.:05:12.

Villa last weekend. Felix Magath has called for the same sort of spirit

:05:13.:05:19.

from his side this afternoon. Rodallega! He thumps the ground in

:05:20.:05:25.

frustration, the Colombian striker. This was a terrific chance for

:05:26.:05:32.

Fulham. Look how he hits the ground, really annoyed with himself.

:05:33.:05:48.

The referee could not have been much closer to the action. Driven across,

:05:49.:06:01.

and that is a wonderful save from Stockdale. What a reaction to keep

:06:02.:06:08.

it at 0-0. Ricky van Wolfswinkel, so close to breaking his goal drought.

:06:09.:06:15.

Olsson hit it hard, and all van Wolfswinkel dude was diverted

:06:16.:06:20.

towards run, but that was an outstanding save. A tremendous spell

:06:21.:06:31.

for Norwich City, but equally brilliant from David Stockdale. A

:06:32.:06:38.

wonder. Full perhaps Johnson will feel he should have done better from

:06:39.:06:49.

the rebound. That is it is the Norwich City fans who are making the

:06:50.:06:54.

noise after that. Nathan Redmond, still going, such persistence. Here

:06:55.:07:03.

goes again. Sidwell, caught in possession. Leroy Fer. That is a

:07:04.:07:14.

free kick, Heitinga diving in. Snodgrass, off the bar! Norwich, so

:07:15.:07:20.

close again to breaking the deadlock. Over the wall, and it

:07:21.:07:32.

smashes against the crossbar. That is three terrific opportunities

:07:33.:07:36.

Norwich have had. It is all rather quiet around Craven Cottage. You can

:07:37.:07:41.

feel the tension, the apprehension, emanating from both sets of

:07:42.:07:45.

supporters. That is going to be a yellow card for Steven Whittaker.

:07:46.:07:53.

Norwich have brought everybody back to try and keep this free kick at

:07:54.:08:03.

bay. Holtby takes it. Rodallega! Hugo Rodallega scores for the second

:08:04.:08:08.

week in succession! What a huge goal that could be. Overwhelming relief

:08:09.:08:16.

amongst the home supporters, as they get the first goal of the

:08:17.:08:17.

afternoon. Richardson takes it. Rodallega! Good

:08:18.:08:37.

job Norwich had a man on the line. Martin Olsson, that is a terrific

:08:38.:09:19.

run. Snodgrass! Just wide. Brilliant defending, as Fulham players threw

:09:20.:09:27.

themselves towards the ball. It was a wonderful ball over the top. How

:09:28.:09:31.

close was Robert Snodgrass to getting an equaliser here?

:09:32.:09:47.

What is he thinking now? How can he change things around?

:09:48.:10:01.

That is a corner. It got a touch off the defender.

:10:02.:10:16.

Fulham have everybody back inside their own penalty area. Headed wide

:10:17.:10:25.

by Rodallega! The man who put Fulham in front now preserves their lead.

:10:26.:10:32.

It was Michael Turner with the firm header from the corner.

:10:33.:10:45.

Fulham fans celebrating, they are convinced that the great escape

:10:46.:11:08.

might be on again for Fulham. Last few seconds. Rodallega. Can he

:11:09.:11:22.

finished it? No, he can't. That would have sealed victory for

:11:23.:11:26.

Fulham. The chance came to Ashkan Dejagah. But it does not matter. The

:11:27.:11:32.

full-time whistle has been blown. Back-to-back victories for Fulham

:11:33.:11:37.

and Felix Magath. Hugo Rodallega with the all-important van this

:11:38.:11:44.

afternoon. Fulham are just two points behind Norwich, both with

:11:45.:11:51.

four games remaining. And given the remaining games for Norwich, it is

:11:52.:11:56.

Fulham who will be ending today far more optimistic.

:11:57.:12:05.

We have two win every game. It is five finals for us. We have two win

:12:06.:12:12.

everyone. Anything is possible. The 'keeper has made an unbelievable

:12:13.:12:19.

save from van Wolfswinkel. We have had other good chances as well. That

:12:20.:12:24.

is what it is about. That is the only area where we have fallen short

:12:25.:12:28.

today. Obviously it is a big area because that is what wins games.

:12:29.:12:32.

Everybody has been aware of Norwich's final four fixtures. Yes,

:12:33.:12:39.

people have written us off already. They are tough games, we know that.

:12:40.:12:43.

But we will do everything we can this week in training to get

:12:44.:12:46.

ourselves right for the next game, which is Liverpool. We are in it

:12:47.:12:52.

now, without a shadow of a doubt. We have to pick up points from these

:12:53.:12:56.

four games, we're pretty certain about that. The minimum requirement

:12:57.:13:02.

is what they have delivered today, in terms of their play, their

:13:03.:13:05.

understanding, tactically I thought they were very good. And we have got

:13:06.:13:17.

to start scoring goals, when we are making good chances like that.

:13:18.:13:21.

So, a huge win for Fulham, and afterwards I spoke to their manager,

:13:22.:13:28.

Felix Magath. It was a very dramatic game, and I am very happy about the

:13:29.:13:36.

win. But today, we are satisfied -- we are not satisfied double in what

:13:37.:13:41.

way were you not satisfied with the performance today? Because we are

:13:42.:13:49.

not leading the game, we have to respect that Norwich was the better

:13:50.:13:54.

team, and we were very lucky, we had a very good goalkeeper, who saved us

:13:55.:14:01.

from defeat. I suppose at this stage of the season, the result is so much

:14:02.:14:04.

more important than the performance, it gives you a lifetime? Yes, sure,

:14:05.:14:11.

the result is all. We are happy about the result. Three points, it

:14:12.:14:19.

was the most important thing. Do you think you will stay up? Yes! For

:14:20.:14:28.

sure. I was ever convinced that we would stay in the league, and after

:14:29.:14:33.

two wins, sure, I am convinced. Why do you think you have suddenly

:14:34.:14:38.

managed to start to win games and not concede as many goals, what have

:14:39.:14:45.

you changed? I think the players are now more confident than before, and

:14:46.:14:53.

we are getting used to one another, and so, we stand up and we fight for

:14:54.:14:59.

90 minutes, as today, and that is often enough. . It is such a big

:15:00.:15:05.

friends, being five point ain't the team above you, to just two points?

:15:06.:15:15.

It helps us a lot that we look at the table and we are now near to the

:15:16.:15:19.

light and it helps us in the next few weeks. On paper, you have a

:15:20.:15:26.

better final few games than the side you played today. Yes, but we have

:15:27.:15:32.

to be careful with the games, it is always difficult to win, as we saw

:15:33.:15:38.

today, and so we have four games left and we have to try and win the

:15:39.:15:43.

next game at Tottenham. When you did and thank you very much for talking

:15:44.:15:48.

to us, we wish you good luck for the rest of the season. Thank you, all

:15:49.:15:52.

the best you. Felix Magath very honest and frank

:15:53.:15:55.

about his team's performance, he wasn't entirely satisfied, but I

:15:56.:16:00.

thought it would be happy with the result, that is the fundamental

:16:01.:16:05.

thing. He has said it was not a great performance but where they

:16:06.:16:08.

are, it was a must win game for them. They have got the win, which

:16:09.:16:14.

is better than any performance. With the new manager in charge,

:16:15.:16:20.

Fulham... Sorry, Norwich got off to a flying start and had lots of

:16:21.:16:23.

chances but couldn't capitalise on it. They started very well, three

:16:24.:16:30.

very good chances in the first half. Martin also on which this ball in

:16:31.:16:37.

and he is very unlucky. It is as good a save as I have seen in the

:16:38.:16:41.

Premier League. This save the game, reaction. It comes back out to

:16:42.:16:45.

Bradley Johnson and he really should score. You see it from this angle.

:16:46.:16:51.

Left foot, eight yards out, he should be doing better. And this

:16:52.:16:54.

one, the goalkeeper is unsighted and a few inches lower... Neil Adams,

:16:55.:17:00.

welcome to the Premier League, you see his frustration straightaway.

:17:01.:17:08.

This is the full goal. -- the Fulham goal. Does he need to add there? I

:17:09.:17:12.

don't think so, maybe bring the defenders up. There are eight

:17:13.:17:21.

defenders there, 4 Fulham players attacking it. Steve Sidwell steal a

:17:22.:17:27.

march on them, runs near post. Rodallega finds a little bit of

:17:28.:17:31.

space because Michael Turner is caught ball watching and follows the

:17:32.:17:36.

ball, so it was a great goal from a Fulham perspective, but defensive

:17:37.:17:41.

wise, not great from Norwich. Considering Fulham's staggeringly

:17:42.:17:45.

poor defensive record this season, they saw out the game remarkably

:17:46.:17:49.

well after they scored the goal. Second half, I was waiting for the

:17:50.:17:54.

onslaught from Norwich. This one, Steven Whittaker, a good little run.

:17:55.:17:58.

Norwich just lacked a little bit of class and pile in the final third.

:17:59.:18:03.

He could have got in there. But they have so many men behind the ball,

:18:04.:18:07.

Norwich found it hard to break them down and when they win the ball,

:18:08.:18:10.

they go on a counter attack. We highlighted Whitaker before, the

:18:11.:18:15.

Fulham players are solid and compact, but they are all the little

:18:16.:18:21.

bit too tight for me. Robert Snodgrass is quite clever, he does

:18:22.:18:30.

make a run, but on the other side, Olsen makes a run, great touch.

:18:31.:18:35.

Snodgrass looks favourite to score but look at the defending from

:18:36.:18:40.

Hangeland. It is a fantastic tackle and that is why they didn't concede

:18:41.:18:45.

a goal. Again, look how many Fulham players are in the box. Scott Parker

:18:46.:18:49.

the first to close them. Nine players plus the goalkeeper in the

:18:50.:18:53.

defensive third. So Norwich found it very difficult to break them down

:18:54.:18:57.

and that is why they won the game. A lot of talk about Norwich, we have

:18:58.:19:03.

talked about it for a long time, their run in. It is a tough one. And

:19:04.:19:09.

Fulham, just two points behind them, you would say they have more

:19:10.:19:12.

chance of getting points than Norwich. When you look at the

:19:13.:19:17.

fixtures come at you fancy Fulham to get out of trouble, but at this

:19:18.:19:20.

stage of the season, Liverpool are not going to want to go to Norwich,

:19:21.:19:24.

they don't want to play teams fighting to stay in the league. All

:19:25.:19:28.

of the games they have got, I think they are games that Norwich will

:19:29.:19:32.

want to play, because there is no pressure, as Neil Adams said,

:19:33.:19:37.

Norwich whatsoever. What do we think of the Chris Hughton dismissal?

:19:38.:19:42.

Particularly the timing of it? Very unusual. The timing is not great but

:19:43.:19:47.

if you look at Neil Adams' record in the youth teams... There is a big

:19:48.:19:50.

difference between youth team football and the Premier League. I'm

:19:51.:19:54.

not saying there isn't, but the timing was strange. I just think

:19:55.:20:03.

five games to go, David McNally has said he fired him on as last two

:20:04.:20:06.

performances which I don't understand. A new manager comes in,

:20:07.:20:11.

the players have to get used to the new manager with he has worked with

:20:12.:20:19.

them or not -- weather. It is seven away games they haven't won now. It

:20:20.:20:25.

is one more note. Two teams who enjoyed big wins last weekend. West

:20:26.:20:29.

Brom winning a Norwich took them out of danger but Spurs kept alive their

:20:30.:20:36.

lingering hopes of making the top four.

:20:37.:20:40.

It is not about me says Tim Sherwood, despite the rumours

:20:41.:20:44.

circulating White Hart Lane about his future. Lund have scored! But

:20:45.:20:58.

comes across, it is turned in. It is too hard and one, Harry Kane.

:20:59.:21:03.

Christian Eriksen shoots. Harry Kane is into the penalty area. Through

:21:04.:21:09.

the goalkeeper and in. Adebayor. Twisting and turning, and Gylfi

:21:10.:21:20.

Sigurdsson. A handsome win, 5-1. Steve Bauer was at the hawthorns.

:21:21.:21:28.

Despite that victory, the odds appeared to be long for Tim Sherwood

:21:29.:21:31.

to be in charge next season. He is focused on the short term of the

:21:32.:21:35.

five remaining matches and he named an unchanged team for the first time

:21:36.:21:37.

in his period in charge, in which Daniel Sturridge has only scored

:21:38.:21:43.

more goals in the Premier League than Emanuel Adebayor. West Brom are

:21:44.:21:48.

without James Morrison but can recall Captain Chris Brunt after

:21:49.:21:53.

five weeks out with a knee injury. West Brom get us under way in the

:21:54.:21:58.

sunshine, the third worst home record in the Premier League against

:21:59.:21:59.

the third best away one. The last time West Brom squad at

:22:00.:22:18.

home, Amalfitano scored a stunning goal. He gets the crossing, beaten

:22:19.:22:24.

away by Hugo lorries and backing by Vydra! -- Hugo Lloris. What a start,

:22:25.:22:31.

within 30 seconds, for West Bromwich Albion. Vydra. Full credit to

:22:32.:22:39.

Amalfitano, went past Danny Rose. Hugo Lloris got it away but straight

:22:40.:22:43.

into the path of the Czech Republic international, who gleefully

:22:44.:22:47.

accepted and drilled it into the bottom corner. The perfect start for

:22:48.:22:51.

West Bromwich Albion, 27 seconds on the clock and Vydra has scored one

:22:52.:22:56.

of the fastest goals of the season. The West Bromwich Albion tales are

:22:57.:23:01.

up. -- tails. It might come to Chris Brunt! Would

:23:02.:23:22.

you believe this? Inside four minutes, West Bromwich Albion are

:23:23.:23:27.

two up. Chris Brunt after five weeks out with injury is back and back

:23:28.:23:34.

with a goal. They can't quite believe this at the Hawthorns.

:23:35.:23:38.

Christian Eriksen lost his footing and once again, Amalfitano involved.

:23:39.:23:45.

The delivery, Spurs didn't deal with it, Chris Brunt was unmarked. 2-0.

:23:46.:23:51.

His third goal of the season and already, Spurs are two down. What a

:23:52.:23:57.

start. Even he couldn't have dreamt of this.

:23:58.:24:06.

Mightily close from Harry Kane. Finally, Spurs a threat at the other

:24:07.:24:13.

end. And Harry Kane, who scored his first Premier League goal against

:24:14.:24:17.

Sunderland on Monday, saw the opening.

:24:18.:24:27.

It just hit Harry Kane and went wide. He didn't know an awful lot

:24:28.:24:33.

about it. It was a nice build-up than the left-hand side. It could

:24:34.:24:37.

quite easily have ended up in the back of the net.

:24:38.:24:50.

Rose. And the referee has given a penalty. It looked as though he had

:24:51.:25:01.

pointed for a free kick there, but the referee has given Spurs penalty.

:25:02.:25:04.

It is all happening in the first quarter an hour here. Emanuel

:25:05.:25:09.

Adebayor has ten Premier League goals in his last 15 starts.

:25:10.:25:15.

He is denied by Foster. Ben Foster guessed correctly. It wasn't the

:25:16.:25:24.

greatest penalty, in all honesty, from Adebayor. A comfortable save

:25:25.:25:28.

once he had guessed correctly. Disappointing effort from Adebayor.

:25:29.:25:33.

He is smiling, but deep down, he will be absolutely fuming.

:25:34.:25:45.

Encouraged to shoot. Look at the space for Amalfitano. Time to steady

:25:46.:25:52.

himself. And that is a good save from Hugo Lloris. But once again,

:25:53.:25:57.

but often marking left a lot to be desired.

:25:58.:26:03.

Christian Eriksen has been so impressive in recent weeks, they

:26:04.:26:09.

need him for some creativity at the moment.

:26:10.:26:20.

Sessegnon could be in. Still Sessegnon! Three -0, West Bromwich

:26:21.:26:28.

Albion, and we have only had just over half an hour. His fourth goal

:26:29.:26:34.

for the club, already puts clear daylight between themselves and

:26:35.:26:37.

Tottenham. And as soon as it came off the head of Eunice Kabul,

:26:38.:26:46.

Ciriches was struggling, as he has throughout the game -- Younes

:26:47.:26:53.

Kaboul. Deflected and an own goal. Spurs

:26:54.:27:13.

have won back. The man who scored for West Brom against Spurs at White

:27:14.:27:20.

Hart Lane earlier in the season gives the visitors their first

:27:21.:27:28.

today. Taken away from Foster by the left leg of Olsson. Goodness knows

:27:29.:27:30.

what this could finish up. Paulinho goes the goal. Beaten away

:27:31.:27:45.

by Foster. Danny Rose! Terrific double save by Ben Foster. Just look

:27:46.:27:49.

how quickly he is back on his feet and across goal to keep out Danny

:27:50.:27:51.

Rose. He has seen his team take seven

:27:52.:27:58.

points from the last 12, he has talked about new-found belief. It

:27:59.:28:02.

has certainly been evident so far. Spurs have to find a way through.

:28:03.:28:07.

West Brom have everybody back behind the ball.

:28:08.:28:14.

Aaron Lennon on to his left. Good save. Look at the space for Lennon.

:28:15.:28:24.

He dropped his shoulder and stepped inside. Foster very quickly down.

:28:25.:28:30.

They better start to the second half for his team, I imagine a few choice

:28:31.:28:32.

words were exchanged at half-time. Paulinho looking for Harry Kane! He

:28:33.:28:48.

was mightily close to the all-important touch. Just watch how

:28:49.:28:53.

close Harry Kane is on the stretch to this. That is how close.

:28:54.:28:58.

I look at the watch, a long time to go yet. Just past the midway point

:28:59.:29:03.

in the second half. Tottenham could really do with a

:29:04.:29:11.

goal here. West Brom are working so hard to

:29:12.:29:17.

defend what they have got. There is the header. And Harry Kane

:29:18.:29:47.

has got one back for Tottenham. To reduce the deficit to one. His

:29:48.:29:54.

second goal in two games, and he has set up the last 21 minutes at the

:29:55.:30:01.

Hawthorns. Brilliant wing play from Lennon, free header for Harry Kane

:30:02.:30:06.

and Steven Reid on the line couldn't keep it out. There will be six more

:30:07.:30:08.

minutes of stoppage time. Berahino offers support. But he

:30:09.:30:24.

cannot find him, and they have given it away. They will be hoping that

:30:25.:30:29.

history does not repeat itself from the last home game when they

:30:30.:30:34.

conceded a stoppage time equaliser, to make the score line 3-3.

:30:35.:30:48.

Adebayor. Paulinho. So many bodies in the penalty area. Is this the

:30:49.:31:07.

chance? Eriksen! Spurs have done it! Tim Sherwood's team have come from

:31:08.:31:13.

three down to level eight at 3-3. For the second home game running,

:31:14.:31:19.

Pepe Mel sees an injury time equaliser go in to make the score

:31:20.:31:27.

line 3-3. Adebayor has been a peripheral figure throughout, but he

:31:28.:31:32.

was involved. Eriksen took his time, kept his composure and

:31:33.:31:36.

hammered it home. His 10th goal of the season. And it is a killer goal

:31:37.:31:43.

for West Brom to concede. It is a big one for Tottenham. They looked

:31:44.:31:50.

down and out at 3-0. Eventually, they have come back.

:31:51.:32:10.

After the 3-0, it was such a one-sided affair, 20 shots to five,

:32:11.:32:19.

or whatever it was. We missed the penalty. We were disappointed with

:32:20.:32:27.

the third goal, we thought Chiriches was pulled back. But our defending

:32:28.:32:32.

was horrendous. Did you perhaps defend too deep in the second half?

:32:33.:32:37.

TRANSLATION: Yes, of course, it was not the intention but we seemed to

:32:38.:32:43.

drop further and further back. I think the mind is very important,

:32:44.:32:49.

and the players are worried about getting the points to keep us up.

:32:50.:32:54.

What were you thinking at 3-0 up? Get in at half-time and Klingon! We

:32:55.:33:03.

invited pressure in the second half. We were happy to come away with a

:33:04.:33:07.

point. We are just trying to accumulate as many points as we can.

:33:08.:33:11.

Where you finish up at the end of the season is where you belong.

:33:12.:33:15.

There is no God-given right to finish in the top four. It was an

:33:16.:33:23.

extraordinary start to the game, Tottenham's defending was

:33:24.:33:27.

horrendous. It was not that good. It was poor. West Brom started really

:33:28.:33:34.

quickly. They really came out of the traps. This is the first bit, the

:33:35.:33:39.

ball comes in, great save. I think that was a foul. Eriksen needs to do

:33:40.:33:52.

a lot more to support Danny Rose. If you watch Sessegnon, he just flies

:33:53.:34:01.

into him. Another one here, ball into the box. And you can see

:34:02.:34:06.

Naughton, he gets stuck underneath it. Great finish. This is when you

:34:07.:34:15.

listen to Tim Sherwood and he talks about diabolical defending. This

:34:16.:34:23.

happened time and time again in the first half. Again, you do not see

:34:24.:34:33.

it, that is a blatant foul. Chiriches is quick, and there was no

:34:34.:34:40.

way he was getting in front of him. Flamini, Premier League players now,

:34:41.:34:44.

any little touch, they go down. -- for me. The first one, for me, it is

:34:45.:34:52.

not a foul. What I am saying, if that is the other way round, and

:34:53.:34:56.

someone is pulling you back, are you telling me it is not a foul? Who

:34:57.:35:02.

would ever have thought that Robbie Fowler, the striker, would be

:35:03.:35:07.

defending defenders? We have seen it every week, players go down. But as

:35:08.:35:13.

you can see from that picture, he has called his shirt. Jerry? Is

:35:14.:35:20.

quick, there was no way he was getting the other side of him. They

:35:21.:35:28.

did not learn their lessons, did they? No, this gave Tottenham a

:35:29.:35:35.

lifeline. If they had gone in at 3-0 at half-time, they could have won

:35:36.:35:46.

it. Again, ball into the box. Great finish. If you see it from here,

:35:47.:35:59.

Reid debts they are, but he does not get there quick enough. And here,

:36:00.:36:08.

the lad turns his back. Last-minute, injury time, this was

:36:09.:36:13.

last week, they did not do enough to stop the ball. They have conceded

:36:14.:36:20.

four points, all because players have not been prepared to put their

:36:21.:36:25.

bodies on the line. To a game with significance at both ends of the

:36:26.:36:30.

table. If Everton could avoid defeat at Sunderland, they would move above

:36:31.:36:35.

Arsenal. The Black Cats, meanwhile, started the day rock bottom,

:36:36.:36:38.

following that demoralising defeat at Spurs. Guy Mowbray reports.

:36:39.:36:46.

Sunderland in a battle, and Wes Brown is wearing the scars from it.

:36:47.:36:51.

That came courtesy of a clash of heads with Harry Kane of Spurs on

:36:52.:36:56.

Monday. Leon Osman cut his eye in a tangle with Bacary Sagna last

:36:57.:37:01.

Sunday. But it is not so painful when you are winning. And the

:37:02.:37:08.

managers are former team-mates from Spain.

:37:09.:37:24.

Johnson, deflected off Sylvain Distin, corner to Sunderland. The

:37:25.:37:29.

place is lifted. Ki takes the corner. It nearly

:37:30.:37:45.

worked for him. I am not sure it was intended to lovely ball for

:37:46.:37:51.

Deulofeu. Cattermole comes across. Deulofeu holds on and holds on, and

:37:52.:37:58.

shoots, straight at Mannone. Should he have held on quite so long? What

:37:59.:38:04.

a chance Everton had here on the break. Surely the ball had to be

:38:05.:38:06.

played early to Naismith. Roberto Martinez said before the

:38:07.:38:19.

match that he expects this to be one of the toughest games his team has

:38:20.:38:25.

got left. He knows what it is like to be scrapping at the bottom.

:38:26.:38:31.

Naismith, lovely turn! Dear me, he has been in much better form than

:38:32.:38:41.

that recently. You would have put everything on Steven Naismith

:38:42.:38:43.

scoring for the third game in a row there.

:38:44.:39:00.

Chance for Borini! Locked on the line. John Stones got in the way. It

:39:01.:39:10.

was going in from Fabio Borini. Lovely touch from Connor Wickham.

:39:11.:39:18.

John Stones did what every good defender should do and kept on going

:39:19.:39:22.

backwards. Jack Colback. Fabio Borini, lovely

:39:23.:39:38.

shimmy. Big deflection on the shot. No real pace behind it, though.

:39:39.:39:46.

Sunderland have found a bit of fire here. Corner from Johnson.

:39:47.:39:52.

Tim Howard got gloves on it, Connor Wickham had a go. Now, it is Alonso,

:39:53.:40:01.

and there is another deflection, and another corner to Sunderland.

:40:02.:40:05.

Everton are under the cosh of it here.

:40:06.:40:18.

Tim Howard got nothing on that one, it has gone straight behind. If

:40:19.:40:28.

Sunderland's players can feed off the passion of their supporters,

:40:29.:40:32.

they really have a chance of completing that miracle which Gus

:40:33.:40:33.

Poyet has spoken about. Deulofeu! Right across the face.

:40:34.:40:49.

Great pace from the Spaniard on loan from Barcelona.

:40:50.:40:55.

I think there is frustration all around. Everton would really want to

:40:56.:40:59.

win this. Sunderland Need to win it. Vito Mannone has got away with that.

:41:00.:41:16.

He decided that he had to come out, but he never looked confident. 29

:41:17.:41:24.

years ago on Thursday, Bill Kenwright will have watched Everton

:41:25.:41:32.

draw 0-0 at Bayern Munich in the European Cup winners cup final. And

:41:33.:41:39.

it has gone in! It has come off Wes Brown! It is the seventh own goal

:41:40.:41:48.

which Sunderland have conceded this season. Deulofeu, inside and

:41:49.:41:59.

outside, Alonso could not stop him. Everton do not care how it goes in.

:42:00.:42:01.

What a big goal for them. Ki! Blocked by Howard. That was a

:42:02.:42:33.

really good bit of defending from John Stones again.

:42:34.:42:49.

Borini! That is the best yet. That is a really good effort.

:42:50.:43:07.

His demeanour never changes, but I am sure he knows just how excited he

:43:08.:43:13.

is making Everton fans. The spirit goes on and on, and so does

:43:14.:43:17.

Everton's winning run. They have moved into the top four, as

:43:18.:43:21.

Sunderland are left to rue their luck once again. Anchored to the

:43:22.:43:29.

bottom of the Premier League. We are coming off the back of a

:43:30.:43:34.

stylish win against Arsenal. In this league you have to quickly adapt to

:43:35.:43:39.

what is around the corner. Today was a it was scrappy. -- today was a

:43:40.:43:48.

real dogfight at times. It was scrappy. That is what makes this

:43:49.:43:56.

group of players so special. It is very tight, there is practically

:43:57.:43:59.

nothing between the teams, and then you go and lose the game with an own

:44:00.:44:04.

goal, which hurts. It was that type of game, that one action would

:44:05.:44:09.

define who was taking the three points. I have probably had more

:44:10.:44:16.

time than I thought, and I was leaning back a bit and put it over

:44:17.:44:19.

the bar. But in the end we have worked hard and got the result. That

:44:20.:44:25.

is what we need. It is a great three points. It is the highest points

:44:26.:44:31.

tally ever in the Premier League, and that, for a football club like

:44:32.:44:36.

ours, with a history that we have, it feels real exciting. We have got

:44:37.:44:43.

real competition for places, which always helps to focus on our

:44:44.:44:52.

performances. Sunderland, valiant, but ultimately you suspect they

:44:53.:44:57.

might be doomed. Everton, not at their free-flowing best, but in

:44:58.:45:01.

Deulofeu, they have got a very good player. Very good player, young kid.

:45:02.:45:07.

I watched him play in Turkey, in the under-20s, and his pace is

:45:08.:45:11.

absolutely frightening. Thoroughly prepared to go either way. His feet

:45:12.:45:21.

are so quick. He enticed is defenders to want to make the

:45:22.:45:23.

tackle. He is electrifying. And this is one here. All day, he

:45:24.:45:39.

had no protection, Alonso. When you have a kid like this, backs him into

:45:40.:45:44.

the penalty box. A little fortunate with the goal but he caused them

:45:45.:45:50.

problems all day. Not at any time did they say, he needs doubling up.

:45:51.:45:56.

This is the goal. Sunderland are in a great position. I think the

:45:57.:46:00.

goalkeeper tries to gamble. I don't think he needs to gamble. He comes

:46:01.:46:04.

away from his near post, leaves that gap and when you are down there, it

:46:05.:46:11.

is the seventh goal they have had this season, those things happen.

:46:12.:46:15.

You have to feel sorry for Gus Poyet. These are the last five games

:46:16.:46:20.

of the two teams. Everton with a 2-point advantage but probably the

:46:21.:46:25.

top run run-in. Robert Leonteva, the Arsenal run-in looks easier, but the

:46:26.:46:30.

way Everton are playing -- probably on paper. Everton are so confident.

:46:31.:46:37.

They have not played very well but they have an ugly win and that is

:46:38.:46:41.

the sign of a team that is informed, so I wouldn't be surprised if they

:46:42.:46:48.

pip Arsenal for fourth. Still all to play for. With only Premier League

:46:49.:46:51.

bound Leicester City having secured promotion relegation prior to

:46:52.:46:56.

today, it was all to play for across the Football League. Manish

:46:57.:47:00.

Volosozhar. Won promotion under reported world

:47:01.:47:03.

record in the Football League. You can see whether Burnley got the

:47:04.:47:10.

champagne cooking. QPR against Nottingham Forest, with plenty of

:47:11.:47:15.

state. And late promotion contenders Bournemouth. Join me with Neil

:47:16.:47:20.

Warnock after Match of the Day, otherwise we are on the BBC iPlayer

:47:21.:47:22.

all week. And on Sunday, all of the action on

:47:23.:47:27.

what will surely be a pivotal day on this season's title race.

:47:28.:47:32.

Sunday is a day of opportunity. What a goal! A day when the permutations

:47:33.:47:39.

narrow and things suddenly become clear. That is stunning. A day when

:47:40.:47:52.

hope could turn to expectation. Absolutely brilliant! Sunday. A

:47:53.:47:53.

defining day. You spend a few years at Liverpool,

:47:54.:48:05.

they have a real chance. And in this game, if either side wins, they are

:48:06.:48:09.

in a really strong position. Without a doubt and more so from

:48:10.:48:13.

Liverpool's point of view, they need to win more than Manchester City. If

:48:14.:48:17.

City can make a point, they will be more than happy, but what a great

:48:18.:48:20.

game and it is great to see Liverpool up there. They have not

:48:21.:48:24.

won it since 1990, Brendan Rodgers has done a fantastic job and we

:48:25.:48:33.

can't wait for it, can we? It is exciting. you played for both clubs.

:48:34.:48:35.

I think everybody knows where my allegiances lie! It is a fantastic

:48:36.:48:44.

game, one we can't wait for. The south coast and the port City

:48:45.:48:48.

meeting between Southampton, sailing along serenely in eighth, and the

:48:49.:48:55.

Cardiff side in danger of being cast adrift. Safely anchored in the

:48:56.:48:58.

commentary box, Simon Brotherton. Gaston Ramirez replaces the unlucky

:48:59.:49:06.

Jay Rodriguez, who sustained that season-ending knee injury vastly.

:49:07.:49:11.

Cardiff make four changes, among them is a recall for Peter

:49:12.:49:18.

Whittingham, who has made just two substitute appearances totalling 35

:49:19.:49:23.

minutes in the last two months. Kenwyne Jones misses the game with a

:49:24.:49:30.

kidney problem. Just seven points from 16 matches on the road for

:49:31.:49:33.

Cardiff South. Three defeats in the last four games, just a single point

:49:34.:49:34.

the last month or so. Gaston Ramirez! The deflection takes

:49:35.:49:48.

it onto the bar. That is the closest we have come to a so far. Deflected

:49:49.:49:54.

onto the bar by the outstretched leg of Steven Caulker.

:49:55.:49:59.

There is Jay Rodriguez watching the match, just a week after that

:50:00.:50:03.

season-ending knee injury at Manchester City. Rehab has started

:50:04.:50:08.

already, surgery will take place within the next couple of weeks.

:50:09.:50:14.

Beautiful play. A little touch by Cala, who commits the foul.

:50:15.:50:28.

Southampton with a free kick in an interesting position.

:50:29.:50:38.

It is Rickie Lambert the Southampton and it is a good save by David

:50:39.:50:46.

Marshall. -- for Southampton. All that has been missing for

:50:47.:50:49.

Southampton so far is the end product.

:50:50.:50:55.

Back with Southampton once again. Gaston Ramirez with the through

:50:56.:51:10.

ball, Rickie Lambert onside, and David Marshall with the save. Ray

:51:11.:51:17.

Lewington in his watching brief on behalf of England.

:51:18.:51:32.

Luke Shaw away from Jordon Mutch. No handball against Steven Caulker,

:51:33.:51:39.

who, I think, did his best to get his arms out of the way.

:51:40.:51:47.

Let's have a look again here. Difficult to see but he looked as if

:51:48.:51:57.

he was moving his arms away from where the ball might go.

:51:58.:52:02.

Southampton clinically disposed Cardiff on Boxing Day in South

:52:03.:52:08.

Wales, they were 3-0 up within half an hour. Jay Rodriguez scored two,

:52:09.:52:13.

Rickie Lambert the other one. It was very comfortable. They are finding

:52:14.:52:14.

it harder this time. Jordon Mutch still going. A rare

:52:15.:52:28.

foray into enemy territory for Cardiff City Jordon Mutch's shot

:52:29.:52:40.

beaten away. The longer it stays at 0-0, the more Cardiff might feel

:52:41.:52:41.

they can sneak something. Southampton have add almost two

:52:42.:52:53.

thirds of the play so far. But Cardiff are still in this game.

:52:54.:53:03.

Cala tees it up and Cardiff are ahead! Cala's second goal for the

:53:04.:53:16.

club. And against the run of play, and a match they desperately need to

:53:17.:53:21.

win, Cardiff City are ahead. Without an away win since the back-end of

:53:22.:53:25.

September, Cardiff City with the worst away record in the Premier

:53:26.:53:32.

League, have a priceless lead. And it has come from one of their

:53:33.:53:38.

central defenders. Cala's shot beyond the despairing dive. And

:53:39.:53:50.

Cala, who scored his first goal in the defeat to Everton last month,

:53:51.:53:53.

has another here, and how important it could be. You just started to

:53:54.:53:59.

wonder, Southampton had so much of the play without really taking

:54:00.:54:04.

advantage of it in the final third. Cardiff hung in there and now they

:54:05.:54:05.

have got something to hang onto. Superb save by David Marshall.

:54:06.:54:21.

Let's have a look at, as the ball is played forward. Very tight onside. A

:54:22.:54:28.

good save by Marshall, he responded well.

:54:29.:54:34.

Gallagher couldn't quite get it past the Cardiff City goalkeeper. You get

:54:35.:54:40.

the feeling it is going to be attack against defence for the closing

:54:41.:54:41.

minutes. Nathaniel Clyne, what I save! Great

:54:42.:54:52.

stop by Marshall to preserve the clean sheet and the narrow lead.

:54:53.:54:57.

Drilled in low and Marshall was down quickly.

:54:58.:55:00.

What a shot in the arm this would be the Cardiff at a vital time of the

:55:01.:55:04.

season. -- for Cardiff. Wilfried Zaha gets the better of

:55:05.:55:16.

Jose Fonte. Still going. He could finish it off. Saved by Gazzaniga.

:55:17.:55:25.

It really would have been game over if he had slipped that one

:55:26.:55:28.

underneath the Southampton goalkeeper. Held off chose a fund

:55:29.:55:36.

the first and second time. And the save by Gazzaniga.

:55:37.:55:39.

It is now or never for Southampton. One must attack... No! It is all

:55:40.:55:48.

over. And Cardiff are far from finished in their quest to stay in

:55:49.:55:53.

the Premier League. An unlikely win, a precious win, and Cala, one of the

:55:54.:56:00.

mid-season arrivals, is the man who scored the goal. Cardiff City have

:56:01.:56:03.

won at Southampton for the first time in over 50 years.

:56:04.:56:09.

You looked quite relaxed, I don't know how you are feeling inside. I

:56:10.:56:15.

was quite relaxed, because, you know, sometimes we have had the same

:56:16.:56:20.

against Everton, Spurs away, Liverpool at home, you stand there

:56:21.:56:24.

and you are relaxed because you are proud of the boys. No matter what

:56:25.:56:28.

would have happened in the last five minutes, you can stand up there and

:56:29.:56:31.

be proud of everyone. How frustrating was that? TRANSLATION:

:56:32.:56:37.

We are obviously disappointed. If you analyse the 95 minutes of the

:56:38.:56:41.

game, we didn't deserve to lose today but it happens that we lost

:56:42.:56:45.

and it is a big learning curve that we got from this game. We know we

:56:46.:56:51.

can stay in this league but it is going to take performances and

:56:52.:56:55.

results like today. Four more wins is going to be a tough ask, but we

:56:56.:56:59.

are quietly confident we can do it. You could hear the fans towards the

:57:00.:57:02.

end, when they heard the other results, they know we are right in

:57:03.:57:05.

this fight and we won't give in until it is over. And unexpected

:57:06.:57:11.

lifeline in many ways the card, only three points behind Norwich and I

:57:12.:57:15.

think we may have mentioned they have got a tough run in! Everyone

:57:16.:57:20.

keeps saying this but what they have got to do is try and get wins on the

:57:21.:57:25.

table. The result today was magnificent for them, especially

:57:26.:57:28.

with what happened in the full and Norwich game. And a good goal that

:57:29.:57:35.

won the game. It was a bit of a punt free kick into the box, a good

:57:36.:57:38.

header but the clearance has got to go further away. A bit of a faint

:57:39.:57:44.

and it is a goal good enough to win any game. You can see the little bit

:57:45.:57:53.

to take away the players, and Cardiff have a lot to thank this man

:57:54.:57:56.

for, he pulled off a tremendous save from Sam Gallagher. A tremendous

:57:57.:58:02.

ball from Schneiderlin. And this one again, the clearance is straight to

:58:03.:58:06.

Nathaniel Clyne. Left foot, bottom corner and again, what a magnificent

:58:07.:58:13.

saved by the Cardiff Player of the Series on. Has there been a better

:58:14.:58:19.

keeper this season? If there has been, I have not seen one. I

:58:20.:58:23.

remember the game at home, he was absolutely outstanding and when you

:58:24.:58:27.

see the performances he has put in, that is what they are going to need.

:58:28.:58:31.

If Cardiff are going to stay in the league, they needed a special goal

:58:32.:58:35.

and the keeper to make saves. Straight after the game, Solksjaer

:58:36.:58:40.

ran straight over to him and gave him a little cuddle, because he has

:58:41.:58:51.

given him a chance. Exactly two months to the day from there,

:58:52.:58:55.

something special will be getting underway and we have someone a bit

:58:56.:58:59.

special to tell you about it. What really separates the great from the

:59:00.:59:01.

good? special to tell you about it. What

:59:02.:59:04.

really separates the great Style? Of course. Flair, obviously. Passion.

:59:05.:59:15.

That's a given. Learn from your mistakes. Always think about what

:59:16.:59:24.

you missed. Never be satisfied with what you have done. Whatever you do,

:59:25.:59:34.

do it with your heart. I never thought about what I could get out

:59:35.:59:36.

of football. I just wanted to play. Spain have won the World Cup!

:59:37.:59:51.

Not long now, can't wait. And a world-class field, including Mo

:59:52.:59:53.

Farah running his first-ever full marathon, will join thousands of

:59:54.:00:00.

others in the annual London showpiece this Sunday. And another

:00:01.:00:04.

great sporting event concludes later in the day, the final round of the

:00:05.:00:07.

Masters is live from August on BBC Two. Next, two sides who were locked

:00:08.:00:23.

together on 34 points each, before the match.

:00:24.:00:30.

The seven clubs below Aston Villa in the Premiership have all sacked

:00:31.:00:40.

their manager. Tony Pulis's Crystal Palace meanwhile have won six and

:00:41.:00:47.

drawn one here at Selhurst Park. Paul Lambert has bemoaned injuries

:00:48.:00:53.

recently but he is boosted today by the return of Gabby Agbonlahor,

:00:54.:00:54.

Fabian Delph and Al Ahmadi. Both these clubs start the afternoon

:00:55.:01:21.

on 34 points. Here comes the corner. I do not think Speroni would have

:01:22.:01:29.

got that. I think it was Cameron Jerome who got that one away. And

:01:30.:01:34.

Speroni was only too grateful. Joe Ledley was pulled down, free

:01:35.:01:48.

kick to Crystal Palace. Now, is that a penalty? No, it is

:01:49.:02:09.

not. Bolasie is appealing. They are all appealing. Just for a moment, I

:02:10.:02:12.

thought Bolasie was going to get a penalty, but does he stumble over

:02:13.:02:17.

his own foot? I do not think there was any contact from a Villa player.

:02:18.:02:30.

Vlaar continues his run. He has got support from Agbonlahor. Not a bad

:02:31.:02:42.

effort. Comfortable, though, for Speroni.

:02:43.:02:49.

This is promising, it is Bolasie. Oh, what a good effort, and it could

:02:50.:02:59.

still go in! Wonderful save in the first place by Guzan. Jerome thought

:03:00.:03:07.

he had got the rebound in. Bolasie, not a noted goal-scorer, hits this

:03:08.:03:14.

well. Jerome should really have scored. The best effort so far this

:03:15.:03:21.

afternoon from Palace. There is a wonderful at the sphere inside the

:03:22.:03:23.

ground. -- atmosphere. Bolasie is proving one or two people

:03:24.:03:43.

wrong in this game. He has always been regarded as a provider, not a

:03:44.:03:47.

finisher. He has had two good efforts in this second half.

:03:48.:03:57.

Championship. He has won it back. He has found to Rome. Now, on the other

:03:58.:04:02.

wing is Bolasie. Deflection, handball, Howard Webb says penalty!

:04:03.:04:11.

And Westwood says, consult the assistant referee. It is not a

:04:12.:04:20.

penalty! Well, here is the cross from the other side. No, it is not

:04:21.:04:26.

handball, I think it has hit him in the chest. I think Howard Webb has

:04:27.:04:35.

had the honesty to changes mind. -- to change his mind.

:04:36.:04:54.

Palace come out with the ball, and this is Bolasie. He has had a very,

:04:55.:05:03.

very good second half. A chance surely for Crystal Palace! It is

:05:04.:05:08.

Puncheon, and he has done it again! Jason Puncheon, a hero for the

:05:09.:05:12.

second week running! And the two wingers, Bolasie and Puncheon, have

:05:13.:05:22.

combined to produce the goal that Palace have been chasing. These two

:05:23.:05:27.

have both had varied careers, in the Premier League, and in the lower

:05:28.:05:30.

divisions. But Bolasie has been a real threat this afternoon in the

:05:31.:05:32.

second half. That has beaten Guzan, and Crystal

:05:33.:05:50.

Palace are in the lead. And I have to say, it is deserved, on the play.

:05:51.:06:02.

Lowton for Aston Villa! Suddenly, Crystal Palace can see the 37 point

:06:03.:06:09.

mark just in front of them. Oh, and they are away again, Palace.

:06:10.:06:27.

Parr is in the middle. And I say, that should have have been all over.

:06:28.:06:34.

And it was Jenson Puncheon again. -- Jason Puncheon.

:06:35.:06:44.

And all the Palace fans look anxiously at the big clock, as

:06:45.:06:51.

Lowton gets the ball. This is Albrighton. It is aimed at Grant

:06:52.:06:57.

Holt. Can he had it down for Weimann? Good save, sporadically, --

:06:58.:07:13.

Speroni, that was vital. There was nothing much in the game.

:07:14.:07:21.

And Speroni has made a great save towards the end. The game could have

:07:22.:07:25.

gone either way. We might have been talking about a couple of penalty

:07:26.:07:32.

shouts. What was your view? I think the linesman did brilliant for the

:07:33.:07:37.

second one. It was not a penalty. The first one is debatable, we think

:07:38.:07:41.

he has caught his standing foot. So that is a bit closer, but it is not

:07:42.:07:46.

clear-cut. It is not an easy decision for Howard to make. You

:07:47.:07:50.

cannot stop scoring all of a sudden wanted you have got to believe in

:07:51.:07:57.

yourself. It has been great. One or two people are talking about you

:07:58.:08:02.

being manager of the year. We will dust ourselves down and we will have

:08:03.:08:07.

a look and see what is going on. But there are lots of people who earn

:08:08.:08:10.

their money at this level. We get paid good money to do our job. I am

:08:11.:08:17.

doing my job. He is doing it very well indeed. Crystal Palace have

:08:18.:08:20.

conceded fewer goals than Liverpool this season, which is interesting.

:08:21.:08:26.

Lunch and, once again, a player you know well? Yes, I had him when I was

:08:27.:08:30.

manager at MK Dons. Fantastic ability. He was a bit of a nomad, he

:08:31.:08:38.

went from club to club. That is where you have gone wrong, you

:08:39.:08:40.

should have said he was reddish. I ended up selling him to Southampton.

:08:41.:08:46.

-- rubbish. Technically, he is fantastic. That goal reminds me a

:08:47.:08:52.

bit of Robbie Fowler. Yes, I think the finish was brilliant. What about

:08:53.:09:09.

this one? I have watched Crystal Palace a few times this season, and

:09:10.:09:13.

Speroni has been outstanding. And that is another one where he keeps

:09:14.:09:16.

them in the game. Great piece of goalkeeping, for sure. You're mad,

:09:17.:09:25.

Tom, he is at Crystal Palace, not playing regularly at the moment, but

:09:26.:09:31.

what does he make of it all? -- your lad. It is this togetherness, the

:09:32.:09:38.

spirit, everybody pulling in the same direction. There are no big

:09:39.:09:41.

stars, no big-name players, everybody has got a job to do. At

:09:42.:09:46.

the moment Thomas is not playing, obviously I would like him to be

:09:47.:09:49.

playing more, but he understands it is about the team, it is not about

:09:50.:09:55.

him. But the spirit is fantastic. And when you talk about the 12th

:09:56.:10:00.

man, those fans, they are the best fans I have seen for a long time.

:10:01.:10:05.

You have been arguing all day about this miss from Jaron. You thought it

:10:06.:10:11.

was a sitter, and's no, I thought it was a sitter. He forgets that I

:10:12.:10:17.

played with him. Being a manager has probably mellowed him out of it! If

:10:18.:10:25.

I had missed this, he would have absolutely had a go at me. He has

:10:26.:10:31.

got to score that, two yards out. We are talking about a Premier League

:10:32.:10:35.

player here. I think it just bounces in front of him. He should have

:10:36.:10:40.

taken it with his other foot. It is a long way out! Listen, he will be

:10:41.:10:45.

disappointed, but it is not a sitter, that is for sure. Our final

:10:46.:10:51.

game tonight is a midst table meeting between Stoke City and

:10:52.:10:58.

Newcastle United, whose season has rather fizzled out of date. Two

:10:59.:11:08.

clubs saved from the drama of scrapping for survival points. The

:11:09.:11:14.

goals of Peter Odemwingie have played a huge role in Stoke's surge

:11:15.:11:22.

up the table. He got the winner here against Hull a fortnight ago. Loic

:11:23.:11:26.

Remy is still missing with a calf injury. Newcastle are turning to

:11:27.:11:31.

Shola Ameobi to try to solve their goal drought . his last Premier

:11:32.:11:32.

League strike came 16 months ago. Tim Krul was flat-footed. Newcastle

:11:33.:12:00.

have survived. What an opportunity this was for Stoke to take the lead.

:12:01.:12:06.

Peter Crouch got in between the defenders. Newcastle are playing the

:12:07.:12:09.

three central defenders today. Begovic was close enough to prevent

:12:10.:12:27.

a Gosling getting a clean shot at goal.

:12:28.:12:37.

Alan Pardew has served his three-game stadium ban. This is the

:12:38.:12:44.

second game of his four-game touchline ban.

:12:45.:12:51.

The flag stays down for Cisse. How good a shout was this for Papiss

:12:52.:13:05.

Cisse? The Stoke fans felt he took a dive, but Cameron was nowhere near

:13:06.:13:11.

the ball. I think Newcastle will feel hard done-by. As always, it is

:13:12.:13:16.

a blustery afternoon in the potteries. Arnautovic has Pieters to

:13:17.:13:29.

his left. And the cross has gone in! Erik Pieters' first goal in the

:13:30.:13:35.

Premier League, and I am not convinced he was going for goal. He

:13:36.:13:45.

is almost embarrassed to celebrate. Arnautovic with the approach work,

:13:46.:13:50.

and he picked out Pieters. I am pretty sure it was a, looking for

:13:51.:13:52.

Peter Crouch. -- it was a cross. This looks promising for Stoke City.

:13:53.:14:14.

Peter Crouch! He could not get over it.

:14:15.:14:26.

Stoke City, reaching the magic 40 point mark one week ago, after a

:14:27.:14:31.

fantastic month in March. Everything to his left. Looking for

:14:32.:14:53.

Crouch. And this time, he does force save out of Tim Krul and again, the

:14:54.:15:02.

very good opportunity to score for the former England international.

:15:03.:15:13.

It dropped for Williamson. Suddenly, there is a threat from Newcastle

:15:14.:15:20.

United. Mike Williamson, who has never scored in a Newcastle shirt,

:15:21.:15:23.

almost found himself scoring the equaliser here.

:15:24.:15:27.

Since they beat Stoke City on Boxing Day, Newcastle have lost ten out of

:15:28.:15:37.

15 year league games. The first" Pardew out" banner is being

:15:38.:15:38.

unveiled. Wrong side of the post from Stoke

:15:39.:15:53.

point of view. A ball from Steven N'Zonzi and Charlie Adam desperately

:15:54.:15:58.

surging up the pitch and hoping the past comes. But still the killer

:15:59.:16:04.

second goal won't come. And the facemask is a consequence of an

:16:05.:16:08.

incident in training this week, when he broke his nose in four places.

:16:09.:16:11.

Sounds pretty painful. Anita is back post. Couldn't get

:16:12.:16:27.

over it. What a chance. Vernon Anita started the move, Armstrong kept it

:16:28.:16:32.

moving, Ameobi with a lovely cross and Stoke City nearly lost two

:16:33.:16:37.

points. We are obviously in a good position

:16:38.:16:41.

and then click on with these remaining games and I think next

:16:42.:16:44.

year, given the benefit of the work we have done as a group this year, I

:16:45.:16:48.

think we can look forward to another good season, I hope. Your chance to

:16:49.:16:55.

tell us that you meant that. Yes. No, no! It was a cross and it went

:16:56.:17:01.

in, lucky but sometimes you need it. Tim Krul, the goalkeeper on the

:17:02.:17:06.

receiving end, did you have a few words with him? Are well out of the

:17:07.:17:10.

game, my Dutch friend. I will have a chat with him. -- I will have to.

:17:11.:17:17.

Replayed well today, a freak goal and I think we should have had a

:17:18.:17:22.

penalty. We are not getting the breaks, missed chances, blocks on

:17:23.:17:25.

the line and that is where we are at the moment and hopefully we can go

:17:26.:17:29.

to the next game and get a win. I can't fault the character of the

:17:30.:17:35.

players and the effort they put in. Stoke on restoring that fortress

:17:36.:17:38.

Britannia this season. Especially with the fans, they are great fans

:17:39.:17:42.

and Mark Hughes has done a great job. We were worried if they would

:17:43.:17:47.

stay up when he took over and he has changed their style of play and it

:17:48.:17:50.

is a tough place to go to. He has done a very good job. On the other

:17:51.:17:55.

side of things, Saint Alan Pardew got his band, Newcastle have really

:17:56.:18:01.

struggled. Well, to me, they are playing in holiday mode. -- since

:18:02.:18:08.

Alan Pardew got his van. We saw banners again, another manager under

:18:09.:18:13.

pressure. Before we leave you, let's have a

:18:14.:18:16.

look at the Premier League table. The match of the weekend is still to

:18:17.:18:20.

come, the league leaders Liverpool hosting Manchester City on Sunday

:18:21.:18:25.

and Chelsea complete the triumvirate of title contenders in action.

:18:26.:18:29.

Arsenal are out of the top four but have made it to the FA Cup final.

:18:30.:18:36.

Sunderland are seven points from safety but it is congested above

:18:37.:18:41.

them. Let's see what the papers have to say. The Sunday express is

:18:42.:18:45.

linking Southampton pair Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw to Manchester

:18:46.:18:49.

United. And reports that Vincent Kompany could miss the game with

:18:50.:18:54.

Liverpool because of a knee injury suffered in training. The Mail on

:18:55.:18:59.

Sunday lead on comments made by his club manager Manuel Pellegrini,

:19:00.:19:03.

saying it would be very disappointing for football if

:19:04.:19:05.

Chelsea won the title ahead of a more attack minded side.

:19:06.:19:10.

Well, by beating the Canaries, Felix has put the cat among the pigeons.

:19:11.:19:12.

Goodbye. This is the most priceless work

:19:13.:19:39.

in the artist's collection It took him just five minutes

:19:40.:19:42.

and 20 seconds to create.

:19:43.:19:50.
