Good evening. We've brought a bit of Brazilian flair into the Match of

the Day studio and, I tell you what, it's had the desired effect. 32

goals coming up on a pulsating day of Premier League action. A warm

welcome to World Cup winner Leonardo, alongside Alan Shearer.

Eight cracking games on the way. And, on Sport Relief weekend, we

introduce a new pundit to the Match of the Day team. Russell Brand's

been keeping a close eye on West Ham's game against Manchester

United. He'll be with us later. We start at Stamford Bridge where

Arsene Wenger led his team for the 1,000th time as Arsenal manager.

Arsene Wenger speaks five languages and a degree in economics. Just your

average Premiership manager. Great strike by Wright. Victorious here,

their first match under Arsene Wenger.

COMMENTATOR: What a way to clinch the Championship. Arsenal celebrate,

not only a Championship, but a double. Arsenal, the champions,

unbeaten from start to finish. In 10 previous league meetings, Wenger has

yet to beat a Chelsea side managed by Jose Mourinho. Victory would put

the Gunners a point behind the leaders with a game in hand. Steve

Wilson was watching. He didn't need the landmark to be considered, one

of the Premier League's greatest managers, 1,000 games is a great

landmark, nonetheless for Arsene Wenger. Regrets, he has had a few,

not least perhaps Samuel Eto'o hoping Barcelona beat 10-man Arsenal

in the Champions League final eight years ago. The Chelsea striker is

preferred to Fernando Torres up front. Mattish, Luiz and Schurrle

return. Lampard on the bench. COMMENTATOR: Giroud has got there

first. Good save by Cech. Good save this from Petr Cech.

Olivier Giroud arriving between three blue shirts to get there, just

half a pace ahead. Here come Chelsea on the counter.

What a lively start to the game here. Andre Schurrle, Eto'o

desperate for, it Samuel Eto'o here for Chelsea. Scores, brilliantly!

Fantastic finish. He is bang in-form. Scored against

Spurs, scored against Galatasaray, scores against Arsenal.

Schurrle's pass, just made Eto'o hesitate and wait for it. Caressed

it with his right. Then onto his left and into the corner. Great goal

from a great goalscorer. Samuel Eto'o.

Won by Matic. Nicking it away from Cazorla. Schurrle's shot is through!

Chelsea 2-0 up. What a start for Jose Mourinho. What a shocker for

Arsene Wenger and Arsenal. And, Arsenal caught in possession. Santi

Cazorla, fed in towards Schurrle. Szczesny was reduced to the role of

a speck stator here -- spectator here. Through the legs of Szczesny.

The shot hit the net in precisely the same spot that Samuel Eto'o had

barely 90 seconds earlier. No foul, Oscar into Eden Hazard. Trouble

again. Fernando Torres, surely not a third? Eden Hazard! They are

claiming handball. They might have a case here, Chelsea. Andre Marriner

has pointed to the spot. Now, is there going to be further

punishment? There is a red card. There is a glancing touch from

Oxlade-Chamberlain. It might be going wide anyway. The Arsenal

players are distraught. Hold on, Kieran Gibbs has been sent off. It

was Oxlade-Chamberlain who handled it. Oxlade-Chamberlain comes to the

referee and says "ref, it was me." He saying there "wrong player"?

Arsene Wenger talking to the referee assistant on this side. I think he

knew it was the wrong player. Inconsistency anyway to send off the

player for handball. Think Manchester United/Liverpool. Here is

the chance for Chelsea, which they take, to go 3-0 up in the 17th

minute of the game. Eden Hazard and Arsenal again, away from home,

against title rivals, are being blown away. Straight down the

middle, Szczesny, dived out of the way. Arsenal down to 10-men with

Kieran Gibbs, quite clearly, the wrong man sent off. They played half

an hour, Arsenal 3-0 down, at Chelsea. Down to 10-men. It's not

even their worse half-hour of the season. Deflected. Good save. It

could have been four. Arsenal's gameplan is in tatters. Their title

challenge isn't looking much better. Ivanovic. Clever touch from

Schurrle. Here's Torres. Oscar to his left, Torres, looks up, finds

Oscar - 4-0. Forget 1,000 matches, this is death by 1,000 cuts for

Arsene Wenger. Utterly disspirited, Arsenal. Wonderful touch in to

Fernando Torres. Who looked up and pick out his team-mate for a tap-in.

Excellent. A little kink finish was cute as well. -- dink.

Torres off after this. Eden Hazard arriving, Torres, great turn of

pace. Fernando Torres, Luiz, good save. It could have been five. Just

two minutes into the second-half, Arsenal's goal under threat again.

Fernando Torres denied by a Mertesacker block. Then Szczesny

leaves David Luiz looking at the heavens.

Back with Torres, who did well to feed Oscar! Great effort. Goal kick

is given. Oscar seemed convince that was a corner.

Mertesacker with a careful header away to Rosicky. Given to Oscar. Oh,

it's gone through, Chelsea have five. This is a bad one for

Szczesny. Oscar with his second goal of the game, he make it is five.

Szczesny will be bitterly disappointed to have allowed that to

go in. He's onside. Salah, this for six. Scores! Mohamed Salah, with his

first for the club. He's quick. He beat the offside trap. It was just

then a question of whether he could finish. And, he could. Mohamed Salah

with a day to remember. The way we started. The way we

pressed them. The way we recovered the ball and attacked the spaces

immediately. I think it was fantastic. In 10 minutes I think

everybody in the stadium felt what... Not the final score, I think

everybody felt that easily Chelsea would win this match. After that,

penalty, red card, 10-men, obviously, easy and comfortable.

It's my job, you know, and unfortunately that despite the vast

experience I have, I think when you do not turn up in a game like that,

it's your responsibility. The importance of this game was massive.

We felt it before the game how big this result could be. If they beat

us, how difficult it could be for us. We really felt that pressure

going out. I think that is why you saw the performance and the start we

showed. Do you feel there is something fundamentally wrong when a

player is saying to the referee, you've got the wrong man, I

committed the foul? That the referee can't change his mind? Yes, he

should be able to change his mind especially if he hasn't seen it. He

should at least check I think rather than sending off the wrong player.

Chelsea now title favourites? No, obviously, no. That it for thele? It

is going to be very tough. Very, very tough, but we have to fight. We

have to respond quickly because we are in a situation where after such

a disappointment today the next game becomes vital. You leave before the

end of the game, why do you do that? The game is over. My wife doesn't

know the result. She is waiting for me to call. She is always in doubt

because she doesn't know the result. So if I can give her the result two

minutes before, then... She is not watching? No. She should wait to

watch Match of the Day without knowing the score, it's much more

exciting that way. Blistering performance from Chelsea. It was

over after 10 minutes. Mourinho got his tactics spot on. They worked

perfectly. We saw a mirror image performance of what we saw Liverpool

do to Arsenal six or seven weeks ago. They pressed them really high

early on in the game. After 10 minutes the game was over. This was

Liverpool against Arsenal, six or seven weeks ago. Pressed them on the

half-way line. Didn't give them time to settle on the ball. Won the ball

on the half-way line. Four, five players looking to get into the box.

Breaking on them, getting the ball into the box. It ends up in the back

of the net. Brilliant. Chelsea, exactly the same thing today. Look,

pressing high, not letting Arsenal have any time on the ball. This is

after a couple of minutes. They had their warning shot. Man for man they

are all marked. Lucky, they got away with that one there. Arsenal

gambled. Six players ahead of the ball. What you cannot do with that

many people ahead of you is lose the ball. Lose the ball,

Oxlade-Chamberlain, like they do, what happened at Liverpool? Exactly

the same thing. They are now breaking on them. They have two on

two, Schurrle and Eto'o, lovely ball in. To be fair, there is still a

hell of a lot of work to do from there. It's a very, very good

finish. Great finish. Exactly the same thing again. Matic this time on

Cazorla. Watch how he closes him. He hasn't time to pick his head up.

Closing him down, winning the ball. Five men ahead of the ball for

Arsenal. They can't get back. Pressing them and winning the ball

and get into the box. Schurrle very good run, very much like Eto'o.

Brilliant finish. Game over after 1 o 0 minutes. Pressed them high.

Arsenal could not handle that. Not Andre Marriner's best day, was it?

No, it wasn't. He had a terrible day. Criticised, probable rightly

so. He said he is disappointed. Another break into the box. Hazard,

it's clearly handball. He has a decent view of it. Chamberlain is on

the line. Gibbs, who he sends off, the poor decision. It is going wide.

He still hasn't blown up there. The linesman haven't given it either. He

gives it there. Someone is in his ear telling him. Oxlade-Chamberlain

thinks it is going in, there is no reason why he would stick his hand

out. And risk being sent off. It is a penalty. There is absolutely no

doubt about that. But it should have been a yellow card it was going

wide. They will reverse the decision. Oxlade-Chamberlain will

have to sit out of a game. Look, he is saying to him "ref, it was me."

He still sends Gibbs off. Oxlade-Chamberlain will still get,

it will get looked at. He will have his ban, it will be reversed. It is

not a clear and obvious error. It is an error, not clear and obvious.

Chelsea started the game very well. It was Arsene Wenger's 1,000th game

in charge, quite possibly his worst. Were you surprised how easy Chelsea

overcame them? Everybody is surprised. If like Alan explained

before, it happens a few weeks ago, the same situation. That is strange

because you know, you are playing against Chelsea, very fast players.

Counter-attack. In these situations perfect for Chelsea style. I think

the problems can you explain tactically and perhaps physical, I

think the problem is the approach, the preparation for the match. Not

when you start the match and you turn on and start. In the match,

before. He was surprised even psychologically because it was

completely done in 10 minutes. A common theme with the top clubs?

Common theme in the early kick-offs. Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea.

I'm surprised at the lack of reaction and desire. The game was

over, you have to show more fight than they did.

It might surprise you to learn that Cardiff City have won their last

five home league games against Liverpool, although you do have to

go back to August 1959 for their previous encounter. Today's game saw

second take on second from bottom. Your commentator, Steve Bower.

Eight games left to decide Cardiff's destiny. Two of Luis

Suarez's 25 goals came against Cardiff in December. He needs for

walk to break Robbie Fowler's Liverpool record.

Fabiola has much in support. He was caught in two minds, that wasn't a

Johnson. There is space for Henderson. Coutinho took over. Good

possession from Liverpool. Testing Cardiff's concentration. Suarez, on

the move. Looking for Johnson, Suarez, a brilliant goal! Double our

level. The familiar name of Luis Suarez is on the end of it, set up

by Johnson. One - one. They were patient, they picked the pass and

when it came, it was from Henderson. It was inch perfect. A simple finish

for Luis Suarez to score his 26 Premier League goal of the season.

Finding Campbell again in space. Campbell! He puts Cardiff back in

front! Their top scorer, with a really cool finish, to make it 2 -1

already. Too many gaps again as far as Liverpool are concerned. Campbell

exploited that 1 and slotted that past Mignolet for his 9th goal of

the season. His 6th in the Premier League. Henderson has gone on,

across came Medel. A Liverpool corner. Terrific covering from the

Chilean international. Coutinho's corner.

Inside the last 5 bits of the 1st half. Skrtel attacking it, and

Liverpool are level again. Skrtel, with his 5th goal of the season.

Liverpool respond once more. It was all about the delivery from

Coutinho, and Skrtel wanted it the most, he got their ahead, and

stabbed it past Marshall. That is a hard 1 to take.

Finding storage. -- Sturridge. He was caught right on the edge of the

penalty area. There is no doubt this is going to be Luis Suarez.

The rebound was deflected for a corner. Brave defending there. As

Coutinho prepares to take the Liverpool corner. In towards Skrtel!

Liverpool lead for the 1st time today. 2 goals Skrtel, 3 for

Liverpool. It was so simple. And Cardiff will be disappointed with

the way they have conceded this. Nobody was near the Slovakian and he

guided the header into the bottom corner.

They had 2 players off the pitch, Jordon Mutch was getting treatment.

Johnson on the overlap, 3 in the penalty area. Looking for Sturridge,

and that might be the killer goal! 2 goals for Suarez, 4 goals for

Liverpool. They had a little break on the way through. It broke to

Sturridge. A lovely little backheel from him. And Luis Suarez with goal

number 27 of this incredible season will stop he wasn't going to miss

that. -- this incredible season. No foul on Fabio Borini nonsense.

Looking for Suarez. From Caulker. Sterling and Sturridge. Setting up

Sturridge! That will steal -- seal it. In tandem again. 5 for

Liverpool, and it will now be 6 Premier League wins in a row. And

this title challenge is showing no signs of letting up. Cardiff thought

they should have had a free kick. Johnson's ball sort out Suarez.

Watch the awareness of him. He saw that run, on a plate for him. It

seals another 3 points for Liverpool. And another defeat for

Cardiff. The Liverpool supporters saying, we

are going to win the League. The way the team are scoring goals more than

any other position, you wouldn't disagree with them.

Jones, Jordon Mutch. They have got 1 back. The 2nd in the game for Jordon

Mutch. A free header down. From Jones. And a simple finish for

Jordon Mutch. It will matter not to the outcome. 5 minutes of stoppage

time. Medel towards Jones. Still Jones. Away by Skrtel. He allowed

that to bounce, Suarez is in. Can he rounded off with a hat-trick? He

can! 6 for Liverpool. Match ball for Luis Suarez. His 6th double

hat-trick. And that is a fine way to seal 6 wins in a row for the 1st

time in 8 years. Brushed aside by the striker, and you really did feel

from there on in there was only 1 in -- outcome.

The power of attack was very good. We conceded 3 goals but over the

course we defended not too badly. Overall, it was an outstanding

performance. I have tonight watching the corner when they scored a 3rd

goal. That was nonsense. I said to the official, I complained. It was a

turning point. It was the turning point. You and Sturridge have this

unbelievable linkup. We work well together on the pitch. When I tried

for the past, and to me, we know we play together 1 or 2 touches, we can

play everything. 7 games to go, a roller-coaster. Yes, regroup and

find a way of playing. How important is that game now? We can't lose that

1. The game is Sunderland, that is the focus.

Liverpool were exhilarating yet again. That partnership. We have

spoken about it many times. They know each other's game inside

out. There is no point here for Henderson or Suarez, it is 1 on 1.

Go into the box and do your stuff. He gets past him. They got away with

it. Look at Suarez. He is confident that Sturridge will win this ball,

which he does. What about this for a pass? He has a knock, 60 yard ball.

A decent touch. Sturridge, getting into the box after the pass. Not

admiring it. He is still looking for it. My favourite bit here. It comes

to Suarez, look at the reaction of Sturridge. He should put the ball

in. Look at his reaction, he is not happy. He doesn't moan. He is

telepathic. He knows where Suarez is going to be. That is incredible

ability. The partnership is a dream, fantastic. A good ball from

Johnson. 10 yards on Sturridge. This is the 1 I like. The desire to get

into the box and score. He puts it on a plate for him. It is fantastic.

An amazing partnership. 3rd in the all-time Premier League

partnerships. He will beat us. Leo, you have seen lots upon ships around

Europe, how highly does this 1 rate? This is perfect. They enjoy playing

together, scoring together. There is a lot of movement. But I had to

defend my choices in partnerships. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, his team

played very well for a period. There was the extent when it was 2-2. He

is right, they both had knocks and had to go off. Having said that, the

fundamentals stay the same. Caulker doesn't pick him up right, 9 players

in the box, 1 should still be picking up. They don't have anyone

on the post. In a way, I agree he still has 2 -- but he still has to

pick up and marked properly. Manchester City began the day six

points behind Chelsea, but with three games in hand.

Bottom-of-the-table Fulham arrived at the Etihad four points adrift of

Negredo returns upfront for Manchester City with Aguero and

Djeko missing less got comes in. Kolarov is preferred. And Milner

perhaps, for Manchester City. Goodness me. He drooled that.

Manchester City destroyed Tottenham's game, 6-0, and

slaughtered Arsenal on this ground. But it is against the lesser side

where they have struggled. Manchester City on the counter, in

towards Negredo. The lines manned is waving his flag, penalty!

The assistant referee gave it just a touch by Amorebieta on Negredo. The

referee saw it. A little bit of delay - penalty given! Yaya Toure

with it then. To break the deadlock. Straight down the middle, 1-0 to

Manchester City. 18 goals this season. Cooly done. Having another

wonderful campaign. The times he has kept Manchester City ticking along.

Manchester City totally dominated possession, as you would expect them

to. Amorebieta, stretched over the bar.

The next goal in this game could have a crucial bearing on the title

race and the relegation rat race. Penalty kick. Amorebieta, he has got

to go. Straight red. The movement, the pace. Totally undid Fulham

there. Brilliant move, Manchester City, far too good a move for the

Fulham defender. Here's Yaya Toure. To make it 2-0. And does! It looks

like becoming a routine victory for Manchester City. 53 minutes on the

clock. Manchester City lead it with two Toure penalties. Exactly the

same penalty as the first. 19goals from midfield this season.

Manchester City get another in the next five or six minutes they could

end up with five or six. Here's Kolarov, away from Roberts.

Unlucky as he brought down the Manchester City player. Nasri, from

the short tap free-kick. A hat-trick! Oh, what a beauty!

Hat-trick, Yaya Toure. That was special. Set his sights. That must

have started a yard outside the post. It bent back absolutely

deliciously. What a belter. That has to be a candidate for Goal of the

Season. Yaya Toure three, Fulham nil. What does he have at his

disposal to keep Fulham up? It's looking bleak. Roberts, a bit naive.

Negredo. Well done, young Roberts. Apologised for his error. Good

challenge in the end. Milner, look at the space for Fernandinho. Beyond

Kvist. There is the drive. It's a stupendous fourth. 84 minutes gone.

Look at the space. He exploded the finish. 4-0, Manchester City. Just

the reminder they needed to dish out to Chelsea - they're not giving up

on the race yet. I think what Manchester City would want now, more

than anything, is for Negredo to get amongst the scorers. They need

Negredo with confidence again going into the away games to come. Milner,

back to him. Oh, good save, Stockdale. Kept him Seve letter,

even though they are 4-0 down and pulled off a big stop there. Milner,

rudimentary stuff this. Fernandinho. Stockdale deflect off Demontagnac.

Well, he has been -- Demichelis Demichelis. He has been criticised

this season. He has had a good week, Demichelis, brilliant at Hull.

Milner. Worked really hard. A bit of showboating going on.

Sidwell. Bit of showboating going on there. It was missed horribly. He

just can't buy a goal. That would have been an awful moment for Steve

Sidwell. Negredo's goal drought goes on. It was not easy to create a

space. I think we have the patience to move the ball. The penalty comes.

In the second-half I think we played really well. Unfortunate when you

gift the first penalty, for my opinion it was not a penalty. So the

team does not seem to believe that we can win after the first goal. How

many hat-tricks have you scored in your career? I think it's an easy

question because there is only one time I have scored in my career. I'm

very delighted. Today I get lucky. Two penalties is enough to score.

Very happy for the team. I think it's very important for the

confidence for the next game. We need to play well on Tuesday if we

are going to add three more points. From tomorrow we will start thinking

in Manchester tonight. Very important to go game by game. Game

coming up. Leo, you watched that game. It became very much the Yaya

Toure show didn't it? I think it was another Yaya Toure show because a

lot of matches that he is deciding the match. You can see, what is

clear, as everything turns around him. You know, all the action starts

with him. It's difficult to start with the central defenders. They

looking for him all the time. You can see even the stats have 92% of

pass competition. It's 78 passes. It's more than any other player for

Manchester City. I think he has something very special. He plays

always in the same speed. He never change so much his speed. He's

everywhere. I think he take position very well. He's always in the right

place. In defence and in attack. That is why he is the third

goalscorer in Premier League behind Suarez and Sturridge. That is

amazing, incredible. Today he's one of the best midfielders in the

world. Then the personality I think he has. It's top, top, top. You can

see, when you have players looking for you all the time you feel the

captain, you feel the number one. A special goal that last one? He is a

top, top player. Very good at everything. He must be overshadowed

Fernandinho. The Fernandinho, talk about Yaya Toure. Fernandinho grew

up a lochlt I think the move from Schalke to Manchester City is

important to him in that moment. I think he will be in the 11 for the

World Cup of Brazil. To see him. City's next four games, Alan, it is

a really defining time? I way games aren't bad, are they? No mistakes

allowed now, is there. They are in the final furlong now. It's a big,

big time for all the top teams. You can't afford any. Time to tell you

watching. James Collins returns to West Ham's starting line-up. He

scored both goals in the Cup tie between the sides. David Moyes made

half a dozen changes today with the injured Robin van Persie and Vidic

suspended. There are rare starts for Kagawa, Fletcher and young. West Ham

have won the last three at home in the league. They

Sam Allardyce in the middle who received the February Manager of the

Month award, half an hour before the kick-off.

It's away. Here is Rooney with the turn. Rooney goes for the

extraordinary. Oh, it is an unbelievable goal from Wayne Rooney.

Spectacular from Wayne Rooney. There is one for the album. There is a man

who knows how to score goals like that. Just as he did against

Wimbledon all those years ago. David Beckham, on-the-spot, to see Wayne

Rooney come up with a very special moment for Manchester United.

The goalkeeper completely disorientated there. He scored some

spectacular goals in his career, hasn't he, Wayne Rooney, that one in

the Derby against Manchester City springs to mind. That one was right

up there. What an extraordinary goal. We haven't seen him celebrate

like that many times this season. Another one to have enjoyed that

goal, no doubt, the England manage Roy Hodgson. Carroll with the header

int the grateful goalkeeper's arms. Bet ter for West Ham. Here come West

Ham once again with Diame. The wall does it is job. Away go Manchester

United. Ashley Young heading towards the far-post. Rooney with the ball

back. It could be a chance format Mata. Saved! A West Ham free-kick.

Manchester United looking for that second goal. Rooney scorer of the

first, almost creating the second. Mata shot beaten away by the

goalkeeper. Two defeats in a row on the road for West Ham. It was a

tremendous run last month, 12-points out of 12. Downing keeping it in.

West Ham appealing for a penalty for a challenge made I think by Darren

Fletcher on Kevin Nolan. Lee Mason waves play on. Here comes Manchester

United on the counter with Ashley Young. Rooney is in the box. Kagawa

too. Rooney, with the easest goal he will score all season. It was almost

a ricochet as Noble cleared it first time. Straight into Rooney's path.

Two goals for Wayne Rooney, inside 33 minutes, Manchester United lead

2-0. That second goal came just seconds after West Ham claimed that

they should have had a penalty. Here's the goal though. Rooney

involved in the build-up as well as the finish. Having fed it out to

Ashley Young. Look at this. Noble stick it is straight in his path. It

was on a plate. Wayne Rooney gobbled up the opportunity. 2-0. Here's the

penalty claim at the other end. Nolan went down under pressure from

Fletcher. Manchester United straight up to the other end of the field to

double their lead. The gap between the penalty appeal at one end of the

field and the goal at the other just 20 seconds.

Manchester United looking for a ninth away win of the season. Rooney

wins the first corner of the second-half. West Ham United with

some defending to do already. Here's Mata. Better angle for Ashley Young

to curl that in. Adrian right behind it. Going into this one 48 points

from 29 games for Manchester United. Their lowest ever points total at

this stage of a Premier League season. In a good position to

collect three more here so far. He thought about coming, but thought

better of it. It's cleared away. There haven't been too many anxious

moments in a while in this game for Manchester United. Nearly one there

performance. Today, they did the job, got off to a great start. Never

in any danger. What is the view on the constant of David Moyes? It is a

hard job for him after Ferguson. When you lose a big player, you feel

you are weaker than before. Ferguson is like this. The team are looking

for answers. Now, it is different. I think Olympiakos and the match

today, will turn the situation. Do you think David Moyes is up to

the task? He needs a little bit more time, I suppose. These last two

results, against Olympiakos, and West Ham today, Lee Mason the

referee, in spite of looking like Phil Mitchell, has done a great

discredit to the people of East end. And you are a ringer for him!

Interesting that West Ham have stuck by their manager this season. Some

clubs haven't. Ultimately, he has guided them to safety. I think so,

that value system ultimately pays dividends. Clubs have got rid of

through the show. Sunderland began the day in the

bottom three, but with at least two games in hand over their relegation

rivals. Today, they faced a Norwich side themselves in trouble, but

Five changes for Norwich including a new look strikeforce of Elmander and

van Wolfswinkel who managed only two Premier League goals between them

this season. Equally goal shy, Altidore, whose only League strike

came in December, joins the attack with Fletcher ruled out with an

change by Gus Poyet very nearly paid dividends immediately. The first

real Nassima Saifi has had to make. -- save that Ruddy has had to make.

In the fall van Wolfswinkel. Another fantastic chance. And the Dutchman

has missed it again. This time, Mannone was required.

Alonso is well forward. Winning the corner off Martin. A set piece might

be their best chance of getting onto the score cheat. They haven't had

much from open play. The cross by Johnson, and a fabulous

save. He couldn't have seen this until very late and very close. A

magnificent save to keep out Brown. Emotional improvement from

Sunderland in the second half, they have seen more of the ball. But

Norwich are still very much in control. Snodgrass. A little push by

Alonso. A free kick. There is the push. He will have a yellow card.

And the kicking out after the whistle had gone. Sunderland have

got it all to do to have any chance of staying up. Alonso providing whip

again, cut out bayou bow full stop Norwich are determined to keep

has come out, a second yellow for Alonso, and he is off. Watch the

hand of Alonso, he virtually punched it away. How foolish do you want to

be? A day to forget for Sunderland. In the end, it was important we got

the win. The manner is important. If that doesn't give us often is,

nothing will. We were excellent from the start.

We will not competing enough. We needed a goal. I think that was an

unbelievable save. Disappointed with this. We have seen some wonderful

goals this evening, Leo. Alexander Tettey added to that, a

marvellous effort. This was incredible. With power and

a bit of luck and courage. Amazing goal. He has set himself a high

That is their home form. Norwich stuck by their manager, we talked

about Sam Allardyce in the previous bit. It appears to have paid off.

They have a tough end to the season. They need to get safe prior to that.

Their next game is Swansea away and their next home game is West Brom.

If they win that, that will be them safe. Two or three weekingst people

were you will calling for Chris Hughton to be sacked. Nonsense. He

is doing a good job. Sometimes I wonder what they expect down there.

There a greater patience on the continent with managers. You have

been a coach and been in charge of the coaches. Is there a bit more

patience abroad, or is it pretty much universal? I don't know. I

think that football passion, sometimes there is no logic. It's a

relationship of the players and even sometimes have some luck, some keys

to change situations quickly. Sunderland, are they playing for

their Cup ex exploits? It can work as it gives you confidence. They

relax in the Cup games and unpressure and stressed and not

paying to their potential in the league games. They are in big

trouble. Certainly are now. Everton have never lost against Swansea in

any competition. Could Blues boss Roberto Martinez continue that run

against one of his former clubs? The visitors have won just twice in the

last 15. Alistair Mann was at Goodison Park. He was the match

winner at Swansea in December with a stunning late free-kick, today, Ross

Barkley is recalled to the starting 11. McGeady, the other alteration.

Everton net. It's the right foot and the deflection, it could have take

it anywhere. Howard was completely wrong-footed. This could easily have

gone into the net. Swansea very close to taking the lead. Here's

front of him. He treads on the ball at a vital moment. Still he retains

looked as though Everton had lost the impetuous of that move. With

Flores out of position, Lukaku got to the near-post and turned it in.

Lukaku appeared to have stopped every tonne's advance really when he

trod on the ball. He managed to prod it to Mirallas. Mirallas found

Lukaku. Chico Flores, who had gone forward at the previous attack, was

only just getting back into position and couldn't get to Lukaku in time.

those missed opportunities which could have brought them back into

this game earlier. A couple of good saves by Tim Howard, which means

this Williams header has only halved the deficit. It's 3-2. It was

pleasing the way we combined together very good moment. Players

are fresh and looking forward to every game. Nine games to go. We

need to make sure we take advantage of every single point we can get.

Played well at times and had great chances. That five minute spell

where you concede two did for you in the end? When you have a period when

you come to teams in Everton, in any game, the opposition will have a

good sustained period of pressure and it's about managing it properly,

doing the right decisions, making the right things and getting in the

right positions and dealing with it, if it has to be ugly and doing the

basics properly. We didn't manage to do it in those five minutes, it cost

us dearly. We are not in the position we would like to be. That

is the reality. We know now is the moment to obviously work hard for

each other, scrap for everything. And, there is nothing else, you

know. If you get sloppy, you know what is going to happen. You will

ghet trouble. We have eight games until the end, every game will be

like a Cup final for us. It me, but it seems all the England young

players and players generally are coming into form. We saw it tonight,

Ross Barkley excellent? Sturridge, Rooney. I hope they are not burning

themselves out. This is what I like about this kid already. He is 20

years of age. He can go inside and down-the-line. Defenders haven't a

clue where he will go. Equally comfortable going where he wants to

go. Clear penalty. Faced up to him. Rash challenge, definite penalty.

Look at his movement. A yard. Enough for him to get... He should get it

on target. Maybe he just discovered you might get three or four goals

every season loitering in and around the goalkeeper. You used to do that

for years. Guaranteed? Quaranteed four or five goals a season standing

in that position. England are developing good, young players. Can

you see them making it all the way, Leo? Is I think in the history of

the English football players a lot of very good players, but if I have

to be honest, I think sometimes it misses something, they lost the

step, perhaps the personality. Players like Ronaldo, messy,

Ronaldo, they believe they are better than what they are. So, this

step is very important. Sometimes not to be only say things or be a

good player for the team. Sometimes this kind of player have to be

egotist to be the best player in the world. Sometimes the English too

shy. Bunch. Sometimes you have to be arrogant. I think it is missing a

bit in the English players. . Hull City are without a win in their last

five league games at the KC Stadium. Today's visitors, West Brom, knew

victory would see them overtake Steve Bruce's side and ease their

time. As a minimum of three minutes. You are asking the wrong person

there! No, he didn't come it was totally right. It is supposed to be

a minimum so you can argue all day. Shall look at the title race.

the trophy? In all likelihood, in spite of Jose Mourinho's Potter

stations it is most likely to end up at the bridge. -- protestations. I

would like the Scousers to get it, Liverpool deserve it. They have

played good football this year. City or Chelsea look unstoppable. From

afar, who do you see as the strongest English team at present? I

think Chelsea will win this year. It is not easy to manage the situation.

For a team that has other matches to play, but I think Mourinho will win.

He wants a lot and is special, he has something that in the end he

wins. Alan? I have been saying Chelsea all season. We have three

teams in it, or are you ruling out Arsenal? We never thought Arsenal

could do it. Arsenal can't do it. I only asked the question. You lot

over here, you never thought they would do it, they never had

backbone. I thought Chelsea were strong because of the Mourinho
