It's the biggest day

of the Premier League season so far,

but that's enough about Sunday -

today wasn't half bad either.

Seven games on the way.

Here's two faces to warm any

heart on a cold night,

Jermaine Jenas and Philip Neville.

It's been a testing few weeks

for Spurs who've taken just two

points from four games.

They faced Stoke, whose last visit

to Wembley was the Cup Final defeat

against Manchester City

back in 2011.

Tottenham's home is yet to be sweet,

with nine Premier League points

dropped at Wembley already. Stoke

hope to take encouragement from the

likes of Stoke and West Brom's

result here so far. Pochettino makes

just one change from the frustrating

Eriksen just drifted into the

central role. Son up against Edwards

and getting the better of him. Came

gives Tottenham the lead. -- came

off Shawcross. Spurs required a bit

of fortune to get them up and

running and they got it here. Credit

to Son, there is the first touch. It

hit Shawcross, no chance of the

Butland. Tottenham will certainly

visitor's point of view. It will go

down as an own goal from their

two or three times to believe he

huge let off for Stoke. Dembele.

move. Kane is waiting patiently.

Onside that time. Kurt Zouma able to

make the challenge. Dier illegally

on Diouf. Diouf has stayed down. Had

very little joy as the isolated

figure up there. There is Dele Alli.

Son is onside, 2-0! He has been

Tottenham's standout player, a hand

in the first goal and scores the

second goal. Stoke felt there might

have been a free kick at one end but

when Tottenham broke, they were in

trouble. Beautifully timed pass and

run. Son had all the time to assess

Alli. Look at the space and time he

has got there. That is four goals in

five starts now for Son. Spurs have

been totally in control of this

today?

I think everything. The

performance was very good, great

performance for the team. It is not

easy to score five goals. I think we

created more chance to score. I

think we played very well.

We

allowed two quickfire goals through

situations which really were of our

own making cost obviously, if you

open up too much against the top

teams, they have the ability to hurt

you. We found that to our cost on a

number of occasions this year.

We

felt confident, of course, coming

off the back of a bad results. We

would always be up for it and try to

put it right. It was our day today

and hopefully we can continue this

run.

It usually is against Stoke.

Tottenham became the first team to

beat the same team by four goals or

more in four consecutive games, not

just Premier League history but in

top-flight history. I think probably

not for the first time in those

games, a lot of it down was down to

Son and Kane.

picked up a bit of space. Look at

the run from Son, the desire to get

into that position. He is so

confident and compose, sticks in the

back of the net and it is to live in

terror. Harry Kane for me today was

probably more energetic and mobile,

since his injury, then I had seen

him in a while. I love that header.

So dominant, demanding. That touch

and crossfield pass is as good as

you would get. The confidence was

losing through the team in the

second half. Son and Kane at the

forefront of that. That is food and

drink to him now.

not taking the spontaneity at all.

defenders to go and head the ball.

impossible to score against, not

today. This again from a corner

kick. Joe Allen on the edge of the

Diouf Comicon be bothered to get

there as well, no marking and it was

far too easy. They have conceded the

West Ham are more disciplined and

fitter under David Moyes but they

haven't won in eight league games

and have two victories in their last

22 Premier League clashes with

Chelsea. The visitors endured a

tough Champions League in the week.

I've been covering this game as a

commentator for, what, 37 years,

I've never seen a hot water bottle

What a great

result for us. We needed to find one

of the results. We came close

against Manchester City for long

periods we thought we were going to

get it. Don't get us wrong it was

tough today. Chelsea kept us under

pressure. Scored a good goal. Played

well in the first half. If we had

been better with the ball in the

second-half I think we might have

got a goal.

I saw a bit of tiredness

of my players. Basically in the

final decision, in the last pass, we

did a lot of mistakes.

You jumped in

with the crowd. It's a yellow card

these days, you saw that relief?

I

did. Didn't know it was a yellow

card. I for got everything. I want

to celebrate with them. They

deserve. I want to give them kind of

back.

I thought the supporters

showed during the game that West Ham

hopefully are on their back. They

are appreciating the effort the

players are putting in. The players

put that effort in, supporters will

cheer them.

Is it possible to still

win the title from where you are

now?

I think that we have to go and

to play game by game and to look at

ourself. Don't forget, this league

is very difficult and the situation,

six top teams, four go to the

Champions League and two to the

Europa League. We have to fight. We

must pay great attention and be

focused and try to do our best.

year he gave away goals. An accident

waiting to happen. This year he

hasn't featured much. Today he was

the best player on the pitch. Showed

qualities last week and today I

didn't think he had, his feet,

composure and quality on the ball

was phenomenal. The way he goes past

players, dribbling from a

left-wingback position. I think his

position is left-back, but he likes

to get forward so much. Look at the

composure and the quality on the

ball. How many times he got down

that left hand side today. He caused

Zappacosta so many problems. West

Ham got further up the pitch and put

pressure on the Chelsea defence.

Again, getting down the left hand

side he won so many corners for West

Ham, particularly in the first half

when West Ham played really well.

He's unorthodox. When he gets the

ball close to his feet he has

brilliant feet in terms of getting

past people and taking people on.

The second-half he didn't have that

many opportunities because West Ham

were on the back foot. When Moses

came on he had the opportunities to

get forward. He's probably the most

improved player over the last four

games I've seen in a West Ham shirt.

West Ham's gameplan, they had one,

certainly midfield especially. It

worked?

I thought Obiang and Noble

were disciplined today. In midfield,

to get a result against Chelsea, you

have to put in a shift. Defensively

West Ham were very strong. The two

in front of them did a very good job

helping them out. They were well

together, putting in challenges.

They also, you know, blocked those

passes into Hazard or into Morata,

making sure that that line of pass

never really happened. They covered

each other if they got past Obiang

Noble was there to help out with

strong tackles. This was Chelsea on

the break. Such an important tackle

he made there, Obiang, Chelsea were

starting to get into the game. He

held his discipline so well at

times. Easy when winning to get over

excited. The discipline they showed,

staying together, blocking the

passes, being strong andnd r and

persistent in stopping the Chelsea

attack was a huge part of the reason

they got the result today. It was a

huge one, not only for them, but for

David Moyes. In terms of the effort

and the intensity they were putting

in, today they had three players

West Ham that ran further in today's

game than they have done in any

other game this season.

Precisely. It

tells you how much emphasis has been

put on their fitness from David

Moyes. This game particularly I felt

they needed it.

Up for it. Chelsea

not as consistent as last season.

are playing more games this season,

League. He is talking about

tiredness and the fixture lists -

he not making a point? Probably

about the size of his squad and

manager is talking about tiredness

it affects your team. You have have

The start this enormous crowd was

hoping for is converted by Joselu.

It is one thing waving the flag

sound scoring and shouting and

heralding the 125th birthday of the

club, but when you can build upon

what was already an electric

atmosphere and opened the scoring

with in just a few minutes, maybe

you can use the celebrations to your

advantage. No question it was the

right decision. On-site, Gayle, and

Joselu simply couldn't miss. It was

the best part of ten weeks since he

was last on target. A very timely

goal, in many senses of the word.

Schmeichel, I don't think has had to

touch the ball with his glove yet,

other than to get the ball out the

back of his net. He might have to do

it again here. Just beyond the post.

This time it was the man who set up

the opener, and look how close Gayle

was to making it 2-0 in just over

six minutes. Iborra. Vardy, Gray.

And still... It is a great effort.

You can tell by the way Karl Darlow

hurled himself towards the ball that

he thought that might be going into

the corner of his net. Lovely effort

from Demarai Gray. The tackle by

Joselu, but a poor ball from Merino.

Indeed he finds Mahrez. Still with

Mahrez. And the Leicester equaliser

can be stemmed back to a horrible

pass from Merino in midfield but

take nothing away from what then

followed. This poor ball from Merino

started it all off and within, what,

15 seconds, Mahrez was putting it in

the corner of Darlow's net. Maybe

Darlow when he looks back at it will

think he should have done a little

bit better. Take nothing away from

the strike of Mahrez, it was a good

one. It is 1-1.

Schmeichel's control was a little on

the careless side, but what happened

next was delicious. A little flick

over the top of Gayle and out of

harm's way as if he was a centre

forward himself. Mahrez towards

Vardy, Vardy will get to it. Was he

brought down? No. The referee says

the ball not the man was got by

Yedlin. Let's have a look. Does the

referee get it right? Yedlin might

just have brushed him with his

studs. If he did, it was only just.

He must have concerns. Clark.

Looking towards Joselu but it is not

going to reach him. The groans and

howls are getting more and more

audible around St James's Park. That

is a sloppy one. And Schmeichel

makes a save to deny Murphy.

Chilwell, nice and easy, and then he

gives the ball straight to Murphy

and Schmeichel makes an important

stop in the context of the game.

Mahrez. Iborra, Mahrez. Tries to

play in Albrighton. A lovely little

set up to Demarai Gray, and the ball

is in the net! The trajectory of it

suggested might have taken a little

nick on the way through but it will

be Gray who claims it. Leicester are

in front. Demarai Gray gets his

second goal in successive weekends,

and having had a pretty quiet start

to the second half, Leicester then

take the lead. Surely it hit

someone. It is Lejeune with the

unfortunate touch that takes it away

from Darlow. It doesn't matter how

it comes, just that it does and

Leicester lead 2-1. The fact

Leicester have scored at a time when

they weren't playing particularly

well, that will be the frustration

for Rafa Benitez. Maguire, such a

powerful man. WHISTLE

was literally manhandled by Lejeune.

I think that is a reasonable call

from the referee. It is a very

different St James's Park now. Here

is Chilwell. Forward on his wrong

foot, really. In it goes towards

Mahrez, who is onside. The same from

Darlow. Might it prove quite

significant in the context of this

match? It is the anniversary of the

day that Newcastle East End and

Newcastle West End merged to form

Newcastle United. So many

celebratory days have ended with

supporters looking like that.

United need a goal? And again, it is

a deflection that helps it into the

back of the goal. And Rafa Benitez

has an equaliser. Well, at times it

has been buoyant, at others it has

Tackle by Lejeune and still with

Vardy, Okazaki! And it has gone in

somehow. I think it might well be an

own goal. Perez came and made a

challenge and it certainly looked as

though it had to be him that got the

final touch. Okazaki was tussling,

then Mahrez got involved. The

through ball towards Vardy, it

looked like Lejeune had ended the

danger but Vardy sound Okazaki and

Ayoze Perez got there before Okazaki

poked it into the back of his own

net. A most unfortunate own goal. It

It was not our best game,

but a positive attitude, it's

fantastic, and I am amazing to see

my players like the bunch. They

deserved this result. Now, of

course, it's important to continue

this work.

Obviously when you cannot

win games on the way you concede

that the confidence is quite

difficult, but we have to keep

going. We know it is a long season

and we have to try and improve

things that we're not doing well at

the moment.

Leicester. I think the one thing

perhaps that Claude Puel has changed

a little with the flexibility of the

three behind Jamie Vardy, that

triumvirate, a lot more freedom it

seems?

Demarai Gray finding himself in a

central position here. We know how

clever he is, very dangerous in

front of goal, just missed that one.

This time Mahrez takes the central

position. Albrighton, never fails to

deliver on that right foot, getting

delighted about the performance

today, very proud how they worked

their socks off today. I think it

was a deserved result. They played

very well, defensively, on the front

foot and in the offence we created a

lot of good opportunities and I

think it was over deserved result.

We certainly didn't play at the

level we needed to play but you give

them a leg up when you concede the

goals we conceded, particularly the

first one. We are guilty of that in

our last game, similar type goal. We

knew the movement from the corner

and then to concede from it is

hugely disappointing. What it does,

it allows a good Huddersfield team

playing at home to get into a rhythm

and then we know it's going to be a

hard day.

We try and give the fans

everything, they are on a great

journey, as we are. We have to keep

going, make this place our fortress

and make sure whoever comes here

it's a difficult night for them. I

think today from the start for it to

finish Brighton weren't in the game.

It was a great three points is a

great win for us before our game

against Chelsea.

We are totally

realistic but if we get wins in the
