is time for the annual autumn international ritual, where for all

plenty to talk about over the next 20 minutes. It is worth putting all

the games this autumn into some kind of context, because they have

more significance than normal, because the draw for the World Cup

will be made after these autumn internationals take place, on 3rd

December. Jonathan, it is about winning matches, but at this stage

of the World Cup cycle, it is also about plugging -- blooding a few

new players, so it is hard to get the balance right? It is a

difficult. Mike Phillips is not available for one of the games at

the end. Maybe that is why they have brought Tavis Knoyle in. It is

a very difficult job now for Rob Howley to try and get everyone to

have a game. They failed to do that in Australia, and that is why they

lost the games over there, because some of the players were rusty.

What do you make of the programme over the next month? It is mouth-

watering and there will be some fantastic matches, but what are the

key points from the home nation a point of view? Everyone is at a

different stage. Wales have talent. Ireland, there are moans that they

have too many experienced players. England are going through

transformations. Scotland, there's a lot of talk about Halwell they

can do. These teams have to start producing. Up and a quick word

about playing in these autumn internationals. It is not the Six

Nations, but when playing against Australia, New Zealand, South

Africa and Argentina, there are the old cliches about no easy games.

How important is the next month that these players? It is hugely

important. It is an immense fixture-list. As a player, you are

very excited for the autumn campaign. All the boys have been

immensely proud. From a Welsh point of view, nothing is ever dull in

Planet rugby. So many key issues are being debated both on and off

the field. Ross Harris can go through one or two of the key

moments. Most of the Welsh squad have just

returned from a torturous Polish training camp. It has become part

of a ritual that served them well ahead of the World Cup and the Six

Nations. Poland was great for me to do conditioning work and top up in

the gym. So I have come back in good shape. Us always, there has

been fevered speculation surrounding selection. Stalwarts

like Jamie Roberts and Rhys Priestland have held onto their

shirts despite intense competition within the squad. They have picked

the best individuals. The Blues announced this week that Jamie

Roberts would leave at the end of the season, with Racing Metro his

likely destination. Prior to that, he had been singled out for

stinging criticism in the press. The only opinions that matter to me

are those of my fellow players and my parents and my good mates.

Whatever some clown journalist wants to write about my form, if

they have not experienced it at the highest level, it goes over my head.

Eyebrows were raised at the selection of scarlet scrum half at

Tavis Knoyle, at expense of France based Mike Phillips. If I was a bit

surprised. But Tavis Knoyle is such a nice guy, and we have the

experience of Mike on the bench. So he would not be a bad replacement

to bring on. And also, at this moment in time, Mike is probably

unavailable for Australia. We can't get to the Australia game with

three or four key players not being available and not having game time.

Up front, there is a big Adam Jones shaped hole to fill. But the

manager is confident that his team- mate Aaron Jarvis is up to the task.

We have been pleased with Adam's performance for the Ospreys when he

has replaced Aaron. We need that experience. Although many thought

they may see a different combination, it is just Warbleton

who starts. We did discuss Sam Warburton, but in international

rugby, you have to do things naturally. You are better off with

a specialist Six who can be a lot of the tackling. There is more at

stake than usual this autumn, with a 2015 World Cup draw taking place

in December. If Wales can break into the world's top four and avoid

the southern hemisphere superpowers in the group stages. A to get into

the top four would be a massive achievement. That is what I imagine

the northern hemisphere sides are aspiring to do.

If you are a neutral watching the Wales versus Australia matches in

the summer was a treat, because they were a nail-biting. But if you

were not neutral and you will Welsh, they were unbelievably frustrating,

because they were three games that should have been won. It was

bitterly disappointing. They controlled large parts of the game,

but unfortunately could not clinch the game. Rob Howley alluded to it

earlier. It is getting the selection right. On that tour, they

should have won, but they got a few of the selections wrong. Which

ones? A lot of the Ospreys boys were playing exceptionally well at

the end of the last season. They were going to win at the end of the

Pro12. The win at Leinster was unbelievable. They were the form

players, but unfortunately they picked other squad members who had

not played a lot of games. Maybe it was the rustiness. But also, if

there are youngsters in key positions. After that tour, people

expect them to come out and win games. It is vital. In my view,

this Welsh team is a class side. It is lacking the brains. Everyone

talks about Sam Warburton being a great captain. Is he the great

leader that a great team has? Probably at the moment, not quite.

I watched the Australian series, and every time they went behind,

they went behind a post. Sam was not calling them in and telling

them what to do. They need a few leaders. They are a young team.

many column inches have been written this week about Jamie

Roberts going to France. He was the latest big player in what seems

like a never-ending exodus. Does it matter where the Welsh players

play? Obvious League, the Welsh public and the Welsh management

like to have the boys playing here in Wales. But I have played in

France and I enjoyed that. It is a wonderful competition to playing.

It is challenging. In his it just the money? Obviously, that plays a

big role. But there is a lot more to it. You are playing in a league

that is world-class, against fantastic rugby players, week-in,

week-out. It is enjoyable. almost does not matter where your

players come from. Argentina are proof of that, because they are

almost a bunch of strolling minstrels. If you look at their

team line-up, they have players who played in Argentina, four of them,

but there are eight based in France, a couple based in England, and also

South Africa. It is an almighty task for their coaching panel to

get them altogether. It's difficult, but for the first time, they have

had the championship to play together. And they can come on this

tour better prepared than they have ever been. It will be interesting

to see if they go with the tried and trusted forward kicking game,

or if they play a bit more football. But they will be prepared.

competition been for the development of Argentinian rugby?

It was great to be part of that tournament. Argentina have grown up

a lot and we are playing the best teams in the world. It was good for

us. We used to have six games per year and this way, we can play 12

games and develop players and again. We are better prepared now to play

in November. A lot of talk about players moving to France from Wales,

and the difficulty of bringing players back to pay for their

country. You are used to this because from a geographical point

of view, your players are all over the world. How it easy is it to

bring them together? It is very difficult. Most of them are in

France, some in England. It is good bet we have amateur rugby in

Argentina. It is very difficult for us to work together and try to get

a style of playing, because they are playing in different clubs. It

is very important to follow them during the year, how they are

playing, which club they are applying for a. -- playing for.

We're very happy when Argentina get together and it is getting better

every day. The coach is only a couple of years

older than this man. You have played against him many times.

they will try to move it to him straight away. He is 35, he is not

the biggest and he will have some big Welsh players running at him.

is a key figure for them, Lobbe is is a key figure for them, Lobbe is

team. He is so high on their statistics. He tackles like a

machine. He is everything for this side. If he goes well, the team

does. He is a great leader. He is inspirational, his words are great

on the touchline. This is a man who knows all about

the big occasion here at the Millennium Stadium. So much

speculation about this team and a lot of talk about selections. Let's

talk about your area of expertise. You think the blend is right?

he is a good professional, works hard and takes a lot of pride. I'm

sure he has been briefed today to get to the breakdown early and get

the ball away, do not let the are tainted -- Argentinians get into

that area. What do you want from a scrum-half, more than anything?

want him to implement a game plan. You want him to get the forwards

into the game, you want good communication between both of you.

Also, his kicking game has got to be spot on. When you have got

players who are so talented outside, is there a temptation to overplay

your hand, but you won't get the ball wide to early? -- that you

want to. The back line Wales has is world class. You would think, let's

get Roberts and North in early, and cost bird. These guys are superb.

They are great athletes and rugby players. When Argentina start

adjusting their defensive system, we will use them as decoy runners.

In the Championship matches, Argentina lead at one point in

every match they played, but faded in the last 15 or 20 minutes. Why,

and is that likely to happen again? The reason it happened is because

they were playing a three top teams in the world and they are not used

to playing at that intensity. It was going to take its toll on them,

even though they are professionals. Today, they have had a month to

recover. OK, they have gone back to club rugby, but adrenalin will get

them through and I think it will last longer. Where will it be won

and lost today? Sanchez has a big role to play for Argentina. Preece

Land is important for Wales. His form has not been great. He has got

a point to prove. You have stayed in that tunnel so many times over

more than a decade. How is it standing on the touchline for the

first time? Slightly bizarre. Being in the tunnel is immense. You're so

excited, you try to put yourself in his own, try to figure of a game

plan, get yourself in order. It is a proud moment when you come out.

At what point when you come out does the noise hit you? Be Pizzey

straight away. This stadium is superb, especially with the rate

Warburton will lead Wales. Roberts was very forthright earlier about

the criticism he has been receiving. Are those on initiated comments? --
