the second Test. And it is a try.

Brilliant by England. And they score

straight back. It has been a tough

test, it has been a sparkling series

and England come away victorious.

Hello and welcome to Twickenham,

where England are about to kick off

their 2017 autumn international

campaign against Argentina. Six

month ago, England went to Argentina

and won the series 2-0. England are

building nicely ahead of the 2018

Six Nations. Eddie Jones says these

games are the most important in the

calendar, next week promises to be

an exciting game with Australia.

They come after being beaten in the

series 3-0 and then is Samoans come

to Twickenham. Eleven years s ago

this weekend, England were booed off

after being beaten by Argentina.

Eddie Jones said he wants a fast

start. Will he get it? Let's find

out.

opponents this year. A rather

different setting on a chilly

November afternoon. But many

expecting a similar outcome -

England victorious in the summer.

This is how the home side lines up.

Hartley continues at hooker and

continues as captain. Sam Underhill

starts at No 7 in only his second

cap.

The big decision by Dan bell

Hourcade was to make a change.

Boffelli is an exciting prospect on

the wing. And Creevy is captain. On

the bench for England a powerful

front row in waiting. Simmonds may

get his first cap on the flank.

Rokoduguni will feature at some

point. Today is of course the 11th

day of the 11th month, a weekend of

remembrance and the country will

remember here at Twickenham those

who gave their lives in the Great

War and all conflicts since and

Twickenham will now take pause.

THE LAST POST.

Away we go and good conditions for

this match. A bit of a roar from the

Twickenham crowd as it is taken in

safely by the Pumas in their

familiar strip. England not so. The

home side in the new change strip.

Chris Robshaw talked about the

importance of England's defence, how

it has to improve, and he leaves the

defence there. Up from Landajo.

Brown clears it well. There is

Nathan Hughes. And penalty, first

penalty of the match goes to Teng.

To England. Brian Moore.

It will be

difficult enough for Argentina

without giving away penalties when

they don't have to. No real threat

there. The ball was going to be slow

any way. They had slowed Hughes

down.

Farrell just a water boy

today. Wearing the H2O band proudly.

Didn't sound the liveliest strike,

off the upright it goes and no early

points for England. The clearing

kick bounces to Watson.

Argentina moving Vunipola to touch.

Argentina still with just 14 men.

Lavanini was injured. But he is back

on his feet now.

Youngs sends it down the line. It is

taken by Hernandez again.

REFEREE: Stay up, please, No 1.

England's line speed here, Hughes...

Up quickly. They have worked very

hard and Underhill as well, they

worked very hard on getting back to

their feet once they have been into

any contact situation. At the

moment, England's defence on top.

This one through the posts. A bit of

a slappy sound, but England have

their first three points and get

something on the board within seven

minutes and Farrell leads the

cheers. The challenge from Robshaw,

but Argentina get it back. Hitting

the line at pace. But a fearful

thump as the England defence stood

firm.

This time the penalty goes to the

Pumas. Hartley infringing. A good

hit by Underhill. He is a specialist

openside flanker. So many of the

great sides have an out and out 7,

which Underhill is. A good strike

from Boffelli ties things up at

Twickenham.

Be interesting in the

first scrum, Argentina priding

themselves traditionally on a strong

scrum and about time England got

their act together in this area.

Pretty decent from England. A

penalty goes to England, says the

referee. Penalising Matera and it

will be another shot at goal for

Ford.

Matera thinks he was

contesting the ball on his feet.

It is good from George Ford and

England back in front. As Lavanini

once again. Slows down for a moment.

Landajo goes down that mind side

again. Matera, the big ball-carrier.

Brown leaps and took it well and a

collision, a fair collision it

seemed, watching it in real time.

Brown is in a bit of trouble here.

At first sight that looked like a

fair competition for the ball. No,

no foul play there. Just

unfortunate. Brown landing

awkwardly. If you're very committed,

as he is, and you have got your eyes

on the ball, that sometimes happens.

REFEREE: Not in a realistic position

to catch the ball.

Wow.

Nonsense.

Absolute nonsense.

REFEREE: No 15. I

need No 15.

Tuculet will get a

yellow card for that.

It is not a

realistic contest for the ball. It

is dangerous. The player lands on

his shoulder. It is a yellow card.

I

think some of the boos from the

crowd are for the decision. I'm

astonished at that.

If he is going

to give, penalise and give a card,

by the law would that not be a red

card, if he is going do that, go by

the letter of the law. I looked,

everyone thought that was a fair

challenge.

He was in a realistic

position to catch that ball.

It is a

big decision by the referee.

Argentina down to 14 men. Tuculet

off for ten minutes. Rokoduguni is

on for Mike Brown. But certainly a

talking point. And maybe something

which affects the match.

This might be the spark England

needed. They have been quiet, but

they're a man up now.

And a

full-back can be a dangerous man to

lose. Lawes sensing, England picking

up the pace, sensing that weakness.

Daly tries. Rokoduguni is the

bridge. England deeper into the 22.

England threatening again.

Vunipola

lace it off. Beautiful long pass to

Hughes and he skips it in and Hughes

for the line. The try for England

comes now. The giant man with soft

hands and great skill on the wing,

Nathan Hughes, over for the try.

It

didn't take long for England to

exploit the man advantage. They

kicked up a couple of gears. That

will have pleased Eddie Jones.

First

try for Teng for Nathan Hughes and

you can sense it coming after that

decision. But he was the man in the

position on the wing.

This is what

started it, Daly doing the work.

A

great bit of skill, but few are

going to stop Hughes.

The important

bit of handling is from Vunipola. He

committed the defenders and then the

drag back.

Just curling away at the end off

that right foot. Tight angle. And a

couple of kicks off the post. But

another look at the try.

Right on

the edge, but he still does it.

You're not going to stop the big man

from there.

A big six minutes coming up for both

sides. England will again look to

press home their advantage. The ball

out to Vunipola. The referee said

sit went side ways. This one

benefits Argentina.

Argentina with a good squeeze on

their penalty. Held at the back and

they do get the penalty. It was

Kremer. He wears No 7, but plays No

8. A good opportunity to sneak three

points here.

With a man down,

they're not going to move the ball,

taking the advantage and the

opportunity. England are going

backwards and they're always going

to be under pressure. The referee's

always going to look at that.

Hernandez this time. Not his finest.

That is a very poor effort. Took

over the kicking duties from

Boffelli and Boffelli might get them

back. A waste for Argentina.

It has

been a largely uneventful first 30

minutes. Let's see England pick the

pace up here.

Through Alemanno it goes.

Instructions from Landajo. Creevy

and company again... Just got that

kick away, but it is touched by

England hands and it is taken in by

Argentina.

England not rolling away. Penalty to

Argentina.

Yet another

self-inflicted penalty. England

doing some things well. And others

things inaccurate and indisciplined.

They are not been able to get much

of a flow. When they they have, they

have created ground. But too few

moments of it.

Sam Underhill penalised for not

using his arms in the tackle well

enough. Argentina from the penalty

have a decent kick to touch and

taken down by Alemanno. Creevy

steering things on. Landajo looks to

the referee and a penalty comes.

You

have to say that Argentina have

played very intelligently when they

have been a man down. Kept the ball,

driven it tight, no point in moving

the ball particularly wide. They're

counting down the clock. And due to

England's being forced to be

ill-disciplined through drives like

this. Let's see what takes it down.

There you are at the back.

I think

it is Dan Cole.

Again England have

defended well. No need to give, as

the old adage, can't defend, kicks

at goal.

And he has made a right Horlicks of

that one again. So one of the great

kickers in the game, certainly from

hand, from the tee today he has had

two chances and missed them both and

Argentina might not be able to

afford that. Still down to 14 men,

but not for much longer.

Watson coming forward well.

Lawes juggling, but just in touch.

And Argentina will probably get back

to full complement now. Tuculet

looking to come on.

I would like to

see England pick the pace up and

when ever makes a break, they show

they can shift the gears. They need

to be able to do that more often.

Argentina back to 15. Tuculet back

at full-back.

Argentina with two missed penalty

fresh in the mind. Hernandez the

guilty party with those kicks sends

it high. And Watson just a step and

into space. Again a buzz from the

crowd.

Hartley chopped at the ankles.

Ford has support from Slade. Slade

taken without the ball, the crowd

feel. But they're coming back for

the penalty.

REFEREE: No arms

tackle.

Hartley said thank you to

the referee. I think there is going

to be a chat. To both captains. .

I'm going to tell you what I'm

seeing, you have to sort out the no

arms tackles. We have had one from

No 7.

I didn't think, I don't think

that is a no arms tackle. He has

tried to wrap his legs round.

Hartley's gone. It is a... He is

seeing things the referee. He is

seeing things. When you have got big

players running at you and a

significant impact, you're both

going to rebound.

You have two

options. The first is a penalty or

another penalty for an early tackle

by No 12.

Where else are you going

to go. Of those two options, would

you like a million pounds or ten

pounds.

Would you like to go an

awful lot nearer the posts or would

you like to go back to the halfway

line? Funnily enough, I would go

nearer the posts!

A chip through and

Ford gathered and Kremer took Slade

before he took the ball.

Hartley again getting in the ear of

the referee as George Ford prepares

for attempt No 5 at the posts. A 50%

success rate so far.

Sneaks inside the right hand upright

and England move further clear. Six

minutes to go and 11 points the

difference.

England into the final two minutes

of this first half, looking for one

more score. Lawes has had a powerful

first half. Landajo has strayed

offside, so advantage to England.

Hartley clattering into the

challenge. He is giving it for the

infringement there any way. Taken

quickly by Youngs.

Argentina down a man, he is

receiving treatment. So a big 90

seconds four both sides.

There will be pressure on the

Argentinian line-out.

Unless that

was a kick for the man to score,

probably better kept in hand. You

can see other times in t season

where it is not the first game that

might go to hand and he is through

the gap.

Henry Slade getting

involved in plenty of the England

moves now. He is a great talent to

have at inside centre. Botta is back

with us and Argentina back to 15

men. The pressure on Alemanno and

illegally so.

That is a very impressive tough

finder from the penalty from

Hernandez.

I don't think he will be

happy with what he has seen. It has

been uneven. A couple of times

England breaking into life, changing

gear and going forward quickly. But

by and large unable to unlock the

Argentinian defence and not enough

ball.

Might Argentina have something

left in is in first half?

The clock goes red and a fumble will

be enough and an end to the first

half and England lead by a decent

margin, but it has not been a

vintage performance.

No, a lot of

work to do. A lot of unevenness in

the performance. At the moment, not

able to make ground after the

initial contact, that is stymieing

them. Hopefully more in the second

half.

One try from Hughes. 14-3 the

difference. England lead Argentina

at half time.

Away we go in the second half. 11

points the difference as Hernandez

sends it long.

Youngs chip s it over the top.

Argentina with the first real

attack.

England's defence being tested.

Again it is Matera. Kremer gives it

on. Argentina still with ball. Still

going through the phases. Not making

too much ground. Hernandez slipping

it on to Boffelli.

Good continuity from Argentina. Just

looking for the final piece. Closer

to the 22. A loose pass after a

dozen faces if. Picked up by Moroni.

Creevy labours to an ugly ball. A

good pick up by her Nan Des. Watson

comes forward, takes the challenge.

That was a good contest, says the

referee. Boffelli was in there.

Now the carry by Moyano. Underhill

trying to turn it over. And Creevy

the captain. So low to the ground.

Landajo asking for advantage, but

the referee says it fine and the

spill and England can counter. Daly

with a forward pass there. But the

advantage was over just before he

gave that pass. So back we will come

for the Argentinian scrum.

A bit of

a mirror of the first half.

Argentina diligent and going through

the phases, but not being able to

unlock the England defence.

Eventually, making an error.

Slade with the kick and well taken

by Tuculet, the full-back.

Hernandez wheels and sends it low.

But running on to it well is Ford.

Ford's kick... Is taken by

Rokoduguni over the top of Tuculet

he went. What is the decision on

that one?

I'm sure Rokoduguni

doesn't mind challenging and chasing

ball in the air, but when you have a

run up like that and you have his

destructive power, it was preferable

for him to be given the ball.

No scoring in the first ten minutes

of the second half but plenty of

decent rugby. Just slowing down a

bit. And Martin Landajo sends it

high. Bouncing nicely for Anthony

Watson and that is just one of his

legs. Hartley slips back to Kruis.

And deep to Slade. Did not quite

warrants off the challenge. Of

Gonzales Iglesias. Courtney Lawes...

England looking to build some

fluidity, some muscle from Nathan

Hughes, as ever, and Slade to Watson

and Elliot Daly trying to gallop on

to that but into touch.

England denied the opportunity for a

quick line-out because the ball had

hit somebody else.

He has beaten his

man. Good ball off the line-out and

through midfield they come and

Slade, once again, rolling further.

Anthony Watson tries to skip inside

his man. Robshaw taking the hit but

he slips that away to Rokoduguni.

Lawes. England start to make a bit

of ground, building momentum. Ford

onto Vunipola. And then the loose

pass. Once more, Nathan Hughes

waiting in the wings.

Yet again,

pivoting to drag the ball out and it

worked again Mike Ford in the first

half with his left hand, Slade was

off his right hand and he could not

replicate that pass. The frustrating

thing is you have seen Slade to that

time after time for Exeter without a

problem, you know he can do it but

when there is greater pressure on

the internationals... 52 minutes

into this game and you have called

the name of Rokoduguni once. It came

off his wing and went a couple of

yards.

Penalty to England. Argentina

in at an angle.

Give a penalty,

then. Stop talking to people and do

something.

Into the corner, George

Ford does that and the Twickenham

crowd applauding because they want

to see some entertainment and

England will have a five metre

line-out.

That was a good kick from

Ford, decent start.

Kruis takes it

down, England tried to maul their

way towards that humour line.

Hartley, just a little bit of a

spill as he went to ground, still

charging down that line and the

heavy men come in behind.

Rokoduguni

is all on his own on the right wing

with his arms in the air.

Penalty to

England. Well... The penalty is

against Argentina just now.

Argentina not rolling away. Off the

maul. So, Argentina make a change.

Mcoming on for Moyano on the wing.

England on the line-out, once more

Hartley looks to have it at the back

of the ball was spilled and hacked

away and it is carried, eventually.

There was this spill before that.

Poor discipline, the contact point

had to be moved because the jumper

came down in the wrong position and

then the ball gets to the back and

there is confusion between who is

carrying and blocking and England

spilled the ball under pressure.

That says it all, not good enough.

Penalty to Argentina is the end

result from that scrum. So, Dan Cole

on his knees. Improper binding.

You

can see from this side... Cole

losing his binding first. That was

seen by the assistant referee.

Back

to Boffelli kicking for Argentina.

It has not been the finest kicking

display from either side. Argentina

missing three chances. Taken by

Lavanini for Argentina and they get

a very good maul going, five, ten

metres forward.

The laid-back. Summoning his

forwards and that is Kremer, the

opening side, he took that in.

Keeping it tight and close,

Argentina. Nothing extravagant.

Creevy again. Once more, Kremer.

Lavanini. The little dummy, the

lovely lay-up to Gonzales Iglesias,

on his own, into the England 22. But

that was nice play from the Pumas.

Advantage to Argentina. England

coming in at the side, that was good

skill from Hernandez. Matera, going

nowhere. But coming back for that

penalty.

Well, the one piece of

material skill goes unrewarded but

that was a lovely breakdown. So the

opportunity...

Hernandez has had a

messy game. Two rather botched place

kicks but a good piece of skill

there and he tucks it into the

corner.

Lovely flick on. It'll be

hard to pick out the highlights from

this one!

The England scrum but so

close to their online and Argentina

ready to put the pressure on as

Danny Care feeds and away comes

Hughes in that Nathan Hughes style.

Bouncing between Hernandez and Care.

Into touch.

Good work from Hughes.

More importantly, I clean strike to

allow him to get the ball out and

make ground quickly. He was away

before the flanker was anywhere near

him, that makes it a straight

contest between him and the

fly-half. Really importantly, you

get the strike, which is good, and

he makes the ground. Having said

that, England are still in their own

territory.

Just ahead of Pablo

Matera. Sanchez is on for Hernandez.

Many thought he would start. He is

now. Argentina a penalty. If they

can take a couple of opportunities.

England will be very nervous in the

final 15 minutes. 11 points seems

like a very big gap but it is

looking fragile at the moment.

It is

11 points but it could have been

down to only two had they taken at

least two very kickable penalties.

Underhill might initially have been

on his feet but when he got

extended...

Sanchez, fresh on the

field. Dear oh dear! Argentina in

their own worst enemy today. With

the failures from the team, they

have cost themselves 12 points so

far and Sanchez, after Juan Martin

Hernandez, they have all failed at

some point.

Courtney Lawes, wonderful take from

the 22. The restart. Danny Care,

deep Turf Lodge. Looking for

support, Lozowski! He has Anthony

Watson.

Charging deep into the 22.

Wrong way! Ford takes that but the

as well. The Twickenham crowd baying

for something. Underhill digging his

way forward, trying to get past

Kremer. England again! Sprays out

wide! Rolling forward on Daly.

Border poll and onto Ford, deep once

again. Rokoduguni for the try! And

England have their second. And it is

Semesa Rokoduguni...

Argentina have

complained that was forward. Nigel

Owens is going to say it is worth

having a cheque so it may well be

ruled out. Dan Jones on the other

touchline... The crowd is doing.

Definitely worth looking. If it is

worth looking at in real-time...

You

cannot tell from that angle. If that

is the only angle they have got, he

will have to give it because there

is no proof.

He does take it four

metres or so in front of Slade but

that is not really the point when it

comes to forward passes, where with

the hands going?

The best person to

tell is the assistant referee. He is

dead in line.

Absolutely in-line.

Dan Jones was right on the spot. He

is the man who can tell whether it

was forward.

The TMO is Lee Hodges.

You cannot tell from there. The

referee is looking at the TMO.

REFEREE: It is not clearly forward.

I am not confident that it was

clearly an obviously forward.

He is

going to award the try so Rokoduguni

can celebrate along with Nathan

Hughes. Scored many tries. Some

spectacular ones but he was

finishing a very good team move,

there.

The initial break was by

Lozowski, he made 40 metres. The

simple outside line, that Miss

match, against the forward and he

has the gas to do that. And break

the line. The ball initially goes

the wrong way, actually.

Back

against Ford as he went across

Alemanno, the second row. Ford has

got this one right... Two more

points to England, beyond 20 they

go. England's test to come against

Australia next week. But the most

glamorous line-up for autumn with no

All Blacks. That was a good

scrummage from England. Lozowski has

been lively since coming on. That

searing break that brought the try

for Rokoduguni. Back it comes to

Ford, taken back into the 22. And

Cancelliere gives it infield to

Tuculet. Chasing it down himself.

Gathered. That was a brilliant take.

Bertranou gives up to the forwards.

This time in the shape of Alemanno.

Shrugging off back his man,

Cancelliere. And Alemanno on the

second row is still injured. He

might have been knocked out. Says

Nigel Owens... Argentina still

attack. Tuculet infield to Gonzales

Iglesias. The dangerous centre.

Bertranou slipping away from his

man. Argentina might get the

advantage. But they are pouring

forward into the England 22.

England's defence being punctured

just for a moment or two. Argentina

taking the direct route, this time

through the replacement number

eight, Macome. Kremer, the ball is

loose, still in Argentine hands.

Argentina within four metres,

hunting their first try. Five

minutes remaining. Bertranou feeling

that one. And it is Macome, he goes

to ground and Kremer... A dozen

phases, still battering away at the

England line. Tuculet spins.

England's defence standing firm at

the moment. Macome feels the head.

Kremer. It is all happening around

about six metre line. Sanchez looks

one way and passes the other. Matera

carries. Still going. Looking for

something from this game. And

skipping infield, Sanchez. Still

therefore Argentina. 17 phases. Is

there anything at the end of it?

Once more, Marcos Kremer. Right

under the posts, Bertranou moving

that wide. Carried in by Senatore.

Heading 20 phases, Sanchez tries to

ease his way past. Once again,

Argentina star from Matt five, six

metre position. Carried in by

Noguera. Again they come but again,

England are standing firm. And wide

it goes again. Good strength again

by Cancelliere. Taken down by

Underhill. 24 phases. And making no

further ground. Noguera. 3.5 minutes

remaining. England heading for

victory and Argentina still looking

for something. Back in the game,

Alemanno. Sanchez. Some confusion

but that was a good pick-up by

Senatore.

It has been a monumental

defensive set from England as well.

They are being sorely tested, 28

phases but all of the tackle is

being made, none of them have been

missed. Once again, Argentina

getting closer and Sanchez...

Finally, the dam bursts and the

English defence has two given second

best.

So tired after that effort. A

warm round of applause from everyone

around me, they richly deserve that.

But that number of phases, not going

with your feet, releasable on time,

eventually getting their reward. And

it is no more than they deserve,

frankly.

You can see how hard

Sanchez was breathing when he got

this ball and collapsed over the

line. Still have to finish that

well.

If this goes over they are

left with 12 points, definitely off

the board.

Agustin Creevy on the

sidelines. Applauding Sanchez with

the tried and Sanchez to try to

convert. Another kick fails and

another something for Argentina to

work on.

14 points, they have left

off the board. Had they gone over,

that was 22 points. The Argentina

line-out has looked a little bit

squint but the referee let that go.

The short pass to Matera. Galloping

into the England have. Cannot quite

get to ground yet. But he eventually

does. The knock-on from Argentina

and then from England and that'll be

an end to that. That is a victory to

England here in the first of the

Autumn Internationals at Twickenham,

as mentioned, Australia and Samoa

still to come. That win over

Argentina not convincing but there

was some good in there.

It is a

victory for England, they start off

with a win but there is so much work

to do, Eddie Jones will not be

pleased by the dislocated nature of

the performance and Argentina,

unfortunately, they left so many

points of the board but in the end

they were never going to challenge

England.

Did it take you by

surprise given they have been on

such a wretched run of form?

You

people talk about that. Anybody who

sell them play against the All

Blacks, at the 60 minute mark it was

21-12 to Argentina so you are

telling me they are not a good team?

I said they were on a wretched run

of form because this game is about

winning and losing. Exactly but they

have ability. They are a tough team.

They picked a very experienced team

today.

That was a good result for

us.

That was a good result for us.

He must be very proud of the boys

today? Always part of the boys. I

cannot fault their effort and

commitment. There are things we need

to be better at but we will take

that result against a good physical

side.

What is the overriding emotion

in the dressing room? Have you

missed points out there, could have

been much closer?

We have to reach

the end but we had a good game.

What

about some of the new boys? Some

great youngsters in the team and it

bodes well for the future, they will

keep growing and hopefully also well

the team.

There was no stopping

Nathan Hughes five metres out?

He's

on great form. It is good to see him

getting that try. Great hands or a

little bit of luck? A little bit of

luck! Next to the blue on the hands!

If I can get the ball in my hands

early, I would've tried to get to

the try line.

Are you looking

forward to the rivalry with

Australia?

Obviously, England and is

trivia games are always special,

whether it is cricket, tenpin

bowling, darts, it doesn't matter

and myself being Australian makes

things more interesting but we want

Australia to bring the best game to

Twickenham and want to take them on

to find out where we are at.

After

beating South Africa, you said seven

out of ten.

Today? It was a grinder,

six out of ten for grinding.

Eddie

Jones, that was a grind, if we're

honest, it tough to watch?

It was

frustrating watching that and it

must have been more frustrating as

the players on the field today.

There are so much expectation that

this England side because is so much

strength in depth and that was a New

Zealand side they would have won by

15 points today against a poor Pumas

team that once they went to the

phases, there were no effective,

clean breaks and support. England

will be frustrated with the small

errors, passes to nobody, into

touch, losing the ball in contact,

but would you from the second best

team in the world.

Ike Brown, the

Argentina team were furious at that

yellow card.

They have a right to,

for me, Tuculet competed for the

ball, he should not have been yellow

carded. There were a few strange

decisions, the first game of the

series, the referees are rusty but

that is no excuse. That was a big

moment in the game and they scored a

try and did not get the conversion.

If you think about that and the

amount of kicks zone the Pumas nest,

it would have been a closer game and

would have pushed England more into

a better performance.

In the early

stages in the dram good lines.

Nathan Hughes got his try. That bit

of luck?

He said glue in his

interview. He was not exporting the

pass, the rocket from Ford, we know

George can do that, it was a good

change in direction, a good decision

we wondered how that would work

without the Boss man. If you think

of Rokoduguni's try, that was Ford

and Slade working in tandem. You

have another playmaker doing a

similar thing but I would have liked

to see Slade more in attack

barely saw Argentina not happy with

a try. Forward pass or not? It

appeared to go backwards for me.

That was a well worked try. Ford and

Slade working together, putting

Rokoduguni into space and an easy

finish but we should have seen more

of that, the number two team in the

world, there should be more

continuity and momentum, the defence

was good and the attack was poor.

Eddie says the attack needs work

done so work on it because it will

be tougher against Australia.

Courtney Lawes has matured. Into a

fine test player. British and Irish

Lions.

But Mako Vunipola was all

over the place? Were used him

smashing into players, looking for

the gaps and sidestepping but today

we saw that, not so much, but the

passing was tremendous, is linking

with George Ford and Ben Youngs. I

would like to see somebody else

coming into that position. Eddie has

to have a contingency, if he goes

off injured, who takes up role as

the link forward?

Something barely

to think about. All very well having

that nucleus of fantastic players

but you have to play as a squad and

the unit if you are going to the

ultimate prize?

Because Farrell and

38 Maggs Wright, those players have

to play equally as well, otherwise

those guys in the number one

position will take it easy. Because

that was a very poor Pumas side

today they didn't raise their game

but they should have done. The best

sides too. I guess Australia, let's

have a bigger performance and I

think they will deliver because

Australia will be much better.

reminder of how we are lining up on

It will. The

bench was crucial today, we talked

about the finishers, they played

well, George, Lozowski, they had the

impact but they need to be bigger

against Australia, the paste is to

be hot, the ball needs to be fizzing

down the line. Many times have we

seen Rokoduguni, we did not see them

in space, taking on defenders and

that is what Eddie will have to work

on this week. He has made an

emphasis with players to make a

contribution and you can make a

contribution with and without the

ball and I think today we did not

see enough of individuals with the

ball making that impact and making

those breaks and going on support. A

big work out this week.

Ultimately,

you put two Lions stars in that side

with Owen Farrell and Itoje, who

were disappointed at missing out,

put them back in their side and

suddenly it is a different England

side?

I do believe there is a lot of

competition but you are talking

about two of the best in the world

so Owen Farrell is up there as one

of the best, for me, but I does

remember he will be playing inside

centre but he is such an influential

figure. The way he plays and what he

says, he has a presence, and so does

Itoje, he is so intuitive, he learns

every game what to do and how to

push the referee and what to do at

the breakdown and he is a big impact

player with and without the ball. I

would expect the players replacing

them to be as effective because

wanted to go places I thought

Lozowski played well in the centre,

made the lovely break that led to

that try from Rokoduguni. There is

competition but if those players

come in, it is stronger.
