Day 2 Snooker: World Championship Highlights

Good evening and welcome to the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield for the

2014 Dafabet World Championship. We are seeing Ronnie O'Sullivan book

his place in the second round. Today another former world champion Rob

this has been. I was getting emotional at the end. I was trying

time. I was not certain. You have to learn to respect it and enjoy it a

little bit. I don't know where those seven years have gone, but it is a

special place. The crowd were wonderful, they gave us a wonderful

ovation and welcome and that is why all the players like playing here,

And then I in the next round. I will be giving it 100%. I am loving every

minute of it. I am nice and relaxed. I am going to relish every frame and

practice tables and with us in the TV studio. We wish him all the very

best. One man happy to be back at the Crucible is Jamie Cope, back

after a three-year absence, after overcoming a strange condition which

made his hands shake. He would like to take that one again. That shake

of the head tells you what he thinks of that. I was completely stuck. I

had nowhere else to go. I was at a dead-end. He does not look happy

with himself. Just a simple problem. Just shaking all the time.

That is just the one thing that I have had to get past. You could sum

it up that he had the yips. It as a performance anxiety thing where your

arm does not move in the way that you want it to move, and we had to

find a way of dealing with it. It was a matter of looking at what he

was thinking about and why he was thinking about it, and realigning

the brain, stop the brain fighting itself so that he could do the

things that he could do with confidence, because the yips not

every bit of confidence out of you. -- knocks every bit. Play your game.

It is just one shot at the time, one frame at the time, and it does not

much matter where you are playing or who you are playing. It is on the

mental side. It has all been going well. That is a terrific shot he has

just played. There is no doubt this man has the most enormous talent. It

comes out in moments and it is worth paying money to watch him. It does

not make any difference who you play at the end of the day, it is all

just down to me. Jamie was coping well against Shaun Murphy, leading

5-4 overnight, very tight end this evening's second session, and it

went to a final frame decider. Who would hold their nerve, the match

commentators, Willie Thorne and Ken Doherty.

He had the chance of a plot, and he played it pretty well -- he had the

chance of a pop. -- pot. Was not going to leave anything, possibly

only that red that he went for. It has all worked out.

That was a wonderful shot, very well judged.

Good shot, even if he had slid by the reds, there was nothing he was

going to leave. The brown has not come to his rescue

but it is still not straightforward. He could be gone into those two reds

down near the bottom right-hand corner pocket. He will be hoping for

a full-ball contact and maybe trying to the black. It is not too bad. It

is not too bad! Have a look at that. Without the case, had a team full

ball, he would have been onto the black into the left-hand corner, but

he's to have got out like that. There is pressure on every shot you

play right now. That is very unlucky. Extremely unlucky.

That was a long way away for Jamie. That is just engine, just pressure.

If it gets anywhere near the jaws of the pocket it is a shock to nothing.

-- that is just mentioned. -- tension. At this stage, you do not

want to be playing with loads of side.

Reported that nicely. -- potted that. If he catches the outside of

those three, can he get the bottom red of the two? He would still be

left, campaigning into the one just before it, he had the bottom red of

the two. Into this bottom right-hand corner pocket, and that has gone

wrong, and that may be end of break. I'm not sure if he has left these

two roles as a plant here. -- these two balls. He has to get to the

extreme left of the first red. Because the cue ball is so close, it

is very difficult. He has to make it.

He has played the safety shot, and a good one it is. The tension of the

final frame at the Crucible is always a little bit special.

He was a little bit fortunate there, Jamie Cope. He caught that red, half

wall. -- have to ball. It is half a chance for Shaun Murphy, but a

difficult one. That was a great, excellent pot. And

he is on a colour. There is the distance. Have a look

at this again. Fantastic pot. Under pressure. Top drawer.

A little bit more of an angled than he would have wished for.

He managed to avoid it with a little bit of side and that is another

excellent shot. He can play on the bottom red of the

three and in turn, that will open another red. He is looking at a one

down the question. Every red and Black here does make a

difference. Perfect angle to play just past the pink.

Has always been good at closing out matches.

The green is in the way to come down the right-hand side of the table.

This is not guaranteed to get on the only remaining loose red which is

nearest the right-hand side pocket. That is what he is looking to get

on. It is amazing, this game. It never

seizes to amaze us. -- ceases. Anything is possible when the

pressure comes on. That was a good part from Jamie Cope. But he will

have to go in and out of baulk. This is unmissable. Very good. Where is

the cue ball? Not bad. About as best as he could have hoped for. Even

though the lead is only nine, it is amazing how important they are with

only three reds on the cushion. He has played the cannon on the two

reds. Or he can play a cannon next to the pink. His choice. That is a

poor shot, he had plenty of room to play that cannon. A bit of tension

coming into his arm. It was a big target, those two reds on the

right-hand side of the table. Beautifully poised, this final

frame. Just one point between the two players. After 18.5 frames. Much

time goes to six hours and 15 minutes. -- match time.

He has got a lovely angle on the green.

Just not hard enough. He could have hit that as hard as he wanted. He is

unlucky because after he got the kiss, you would think he would be on

one of them? Needs to find the top cushion.

Pretty good. Not quite sure if Shaun Murphy will

bring the cue ball back to nestle into this red will stop he does not

want to leave the other one. That is exactly what he has done. It was

very, very careless. He has got a lovely angle on the

pink now. Playing some very good safety. There

is a lot of tension out there. When he has not got the desired position

he has played excellent safety. It is very difficult to miss the double

his on this chart. He played direct and that is why he got the

double-kiss. -- shot. It was always going to be a double-kiss. Once he

has got the double-kiss he will be pleased he has left a bit of

distance between these two balls. Although I am sure Jamie will take

it on. Pretty close, but he has got second

prize. Not too bad. They could have been

worse. The red has crept up the side cushion.

That was a surprise he took that on. It was a difficult pot and he has

got away with it. Is the planned there? It is tough to get the cue

ball back into baulk. He may risk this one along the cushion.

Just wondering will he play the extreme left of it and tried to

bring the cue ball back up to baulk. He didn't fancy either one. You

could cut the tension with a knife. Both players under pressure in this

little exchange. That was risky. He has got to get

distance. He could be in trouble. He could leave a pot but also he has

got an easy snooker, here. The cue ball behind the blue but the pot is

on. The way Shaun Murphy has been playing, he is not going to refuse

this. Do I screw back for the green or just play the hole for the blue?

He did not get into the cue ball said he cannot get onto a red from

there. Didn't get into that at all. Needed a little bit more screw on

the cue ball. He can part of the blue. -- pot the blue.

It is a good hit. If it wasn't the last frame, he would be taking along

pot on. This is a little bit more difficult

to get away with. He would like to get onto the one nearest the pocket.

This is a chance for Shaun Murphy to win the frame and the match.

Nice and confident. He has got a good angle on the brown. Get close

to the red. He needs a nice angle on that last

red. He has not hit that the best. We

know he is good with the rest, but this is a bit more difficult than he

would have liked,
