Crucible Theatre. One more frame and we have liftoff! The Rocket poised

:01:13.:01:17.

to make his 10th World Snooker Championship semi-final. One

:01:17.:01:22.

O'Sullivan leads Stuart Bingham by 12-4 and the two players are already

:01:22.:01:26.

into tomorrow's semifinals. England's Barry Hawkins has knocked

:01:26.:01:31.

out Mark Selby and now many people's favourite for the title,

:01:31.:01:35.

Ding Junhui. Dawkins is ranked 14th in the world and has played

:01:35.:01:40.

brilliantly to reach the semi-final. I'm lost for words. Can't believe

:01:40.:01:46.

it, to be honest. I wouldn't say it was the best I can play, obviously,

:01:46.:01:51.

but I'm just writing so much out there Bob, just giving 100%. --

:01:51.:01:57.

fighting. To get to the one table set-up here is what everybody dreams

:01:57.:02:04.

of and I am just looking forward to it now. And this afternoon a classic

:02:04.:02:07.

quarter-final between Judd Trump and Shaun Murphy. Sheer drama at The

:02:07.:02:13.

Crucible and this one went right down to the final frame.

:02:14.:02:18.

relieved, really. A couple of times in the last frame I looked like I

:02:18.:02:22.

was going out but I just stayed calm and didn't really miss anything and

:02:22.:02:26.

just played when my chances came. It was like a real test for me to come

:02:26.:02:30.

back from 7-2 behind. A lot of people wrote me off from the table

:02:30.:02:33.

and I seem to before my best when that happens and people don't expect

:02:33.:02:43.
:02:43.:02:43.

winds from me. -- expect things from me.

:02:43.:02:50.

Those boys - what a performance! Yes. It is the old cliche. It is a

:02:51.:02:57.

shame somebody had to lose. The final frame was 53 minutes but it

:02:57.:03:01.

felt like 15. Shaun Murphy was naturally disappointed backstage,

:03:01.:03:07.

especially given where he was leading in the match? Yes. To his

:03:07.:03:10.

credit he came back today and played it like the better man and put

:03:10.:03:15.

everything into it and it was a shame they had to be a loser, as I

:03:15.:03:19.

said. We should be surprised with Barry Hawkins. He is working with

:03:19.:03:24.

Terry Griffiths and we forget he has won the Australian open. This guy is

:03:24.:03:29.

playing really great snooker now. Yes, and he has great experience and

:03:29.:03:34.

is a top-quality matchplay. He has knocked out Mark Selby and Ding

:03:34.:03:44.
:03:44.:03:45.

Junhui. And that other match?Yes, the first session yesterday, he

:03:45.:03:51.

cannot play better than that. You won't see any snooker matches better

:03:51.:03:58.

than that. You have to feel a bit sorry for Stuart Bingham? When he is

:03:58.:04:03.

at his best, he is the one to watch. The other player I want to talk

:04:03.:04:08.

about is Michael White. He really has dug in. Ricky Walden was playing

:04:08.:04:13.

well but Michael White is hanging on in. Yes, it is a big stage for him

:04:13.:04:20.

to play on. He got to 9-6 and if he had good -- got that 29-7 he could

:04:20.:04:25.

have been in. But that last frame was big. One we talk about Ronnie

:04:25.:04:30.

and he has played such majestic snooker, will he have enough? Lets

:04:30.:04:34.

not forget, there is still a contest on. Presuming he winced and night,

:04:34.:04:39.

as he got enough to go all the way and lift this trophy? -- presuming

:04:40.:04:46.

he wins tonight. That will be a popcorn much! Get your popcorn out

:04:46.:04:54.

and sit down on your cat -- couch and watch him play Ronnie

:04:54.:05:03.

O'Sullivan, Judd Trump. The first seven frames, you're busily wasn't

:05:04.:05:10.

watching, occurs after that, it was snooker from the gods. -- because

:05:10.:05:20.
:05:20.:05:23.

about to get even better after a day of immense snooker! Six back and

:05:23.:05:33.
:05:33.:05:39.

has shown nerves of steel again today. At one stage he trailed 9-3

:05:39.:05:44.

this afternoon before winning three in a row to give himself a chance.

:05:44.:05:46.

He has already knocked out the double world champion Mark Williams

:05:46.:05:51.

and here's proudly flying the flag for Welsh snooker. After the

:05:51.:05:58.

promises as a junior, give a huge welcome for Michael White lightning!

:05:58.:06:08.
:06:08.:06:20.

believe this to time ranking event winner had not won a match at The

:06:20.:06:27.

Crucible until this year. -- two-time. He is now looking for some

:06:27.:06:30.

of the most important friends of his life. What an opportunity for a

:06:30.:06:34.

player who describes himself as a. Course of a tournament. Possibly

:06:34.:06:44.
:06:44.:07:00.

underrated in the past but not any player at the end of one of his most

:07:00.:07:05.

successful seasons after 18 years as a pro. Winner of three titles,

:07:05.:07:08.

including the Premier League. His pride rose to the fore this morning

:07:08.:07:13.

as he won the last three friends of the session to keep it alive! Give a

:07:13.:07:21.

huge Sheffield welcome for the pride of Basildon - Stuart Ball run been!

:07:21.:07:31.
:07:31.:07:44.

natural talent has captivated us once again here at The Crucible.

:07:44.:07:48.

Just one frame away from a tenth appearance in the semifinals. Four

:07:48.:07:52.

times he has lifted the sport's ultimate prize and this is turning

:07:52.:07:56.

out to be one of his vintage years! Blink and you will miss him! The

:07:57.:08:06.
:08:07.:08:15.

Theatre is incredible whenever this man walks out into this wonderful

:08:15.:08:20.

arena! Goodness knows what it will be like if you make the finals! Live

:08:20.:08:23.

here on BBC Two it is Ronnie O'Sullivan versus Stuart Bingham. If

:08:23.:08:27.

you want Ricky Walden versus Michael White, that is on your Red Button

:08:27.:08:32.

now and on the BBC sport website. Interestingly, Stuart tweeted

:08:32.:08:41.

earlier today he is going for a 147. That is if he gets the chance, of

:08:41.:08:47.

course! Over to our commentary team, John Virgo and Stephen Hendry.

:08:47.:08:51.

JOHN VIRGO: Ronnie breaks off in the third and final session which nobody

:08:51.:08:58.

thought was going to be when he was 12-1 in front, but fair play to

:08:58.:09:02.

Stuart Bingham. He hung in there Bob and he is just playing for pride,

:09:02.:09:10.

Stuart, Stephen. And that is all he can do. Absolutely. A tremendous

:09:10.:09:17.

character to win those last few friends. -- few frames. Most

:09:17.:09:22.

wouldn't fancy coming back for one or two frames but it was a good

:09:22.:09:28.

performance. And those two blacks that Ronnie missed will have helped

:09:28.:09:38.
:09:38.:10:17.

tremendous match between Judd Trump safe or not. When Ronnie led 12-3,

:10:17.:10:27.
:10:27.:11:06.

presume Ronnie is on the pink, so on one of the two reds to the corner

:11:06.:11:16.
:11:16.:11:36.

session of this match and I can tell you, it was a masterclass on

:11:36.:11:41.

positional play and break-building. It was incredible. And it is hard

:11:41.:11:45.

when you have a big lead to sort of keep the intensity and the

:11:45.:11:50.

concentration sometimes. Although look at that what successful Ronnie

:11:51.:12:00.
:12:01.:12:12.

-90 6%. -- pot success for Ronnie. enough, at the start of the

:12:12.:12:15.

tournament, everybody was saying, well, his long potting is nowhere

:12:15.:12:19.

near as good as it has to be but it certainly has got it, hasn't it, as

:12:19.:12:26.

the tournament has gone on? Absolutely. Anything over 70 is

:12:26.:12:34.

excellent. And yet it was his weak link coming into this match. There

:12:34.:12:44.
:12:44.:12:44.

Apology for the loss of subtitles for 44 seconds

:12:44.:13:29.

short. He is just about on a red but it, Stephen, with the

:13:29.:13:36.

break-building? When he's got a free shot, he always seems to leave a

:13:36.:13:46.
:13:46.:13:55.

nice angle, doesn't he? Yes, he just even getting them an inch or two

:13:55.:13:59.

out, it makes a difference on the balls. He is so quick because he's

:13:59.:14:02.

not spending time looking around the table, looking at angles and this

:14:03.:14:12.
:14:13.:14:25.

And that was a bit wide! That is the only thing that will annoy him at

:14:25.:14:30.

this match. You can't see him losing it but he has missed a few blacks

:14:30.:14:40.
:14:40.:14:42.

off the spot. And that you cannot that he is just not concentrating as

:14:42.:14:49.

hard as he was at the start of the match. You have a 12-4 lead so you

:14:49.:14:59.
:14:59.:15:30.

have won the match but it is just a CROWD GASPS

:15:31.:15:37.

And on the other hand, of course, when you are facing such a deficit,

:15:37.:15:42.

it is hard to stay focused and not keep glancing at that scoreboard

:15:42.:15:49.

which shows his opponent only needs one more frame. And with that red in

:15:49.:15:52.

the middle and position on the black, that could be Stuart

:15:52.:16:02.
:16:02.:16:25.

That first session Ronnie played against him, and Stephen has just

:16:25.:16:32.

said it, he was just unbelievable. So not a lot you can do when

:16:32.:16:38.

somebody of the ability of Ronnie O'Sullivan is in good stroke.

:16:38.:16:48.
:16:48.:16:54.

Sometimes you've just got to sit that equates to this red and one

:16:54.:17:04.
:17:04.:17:16.

though. Indigo is the red and around the angles and nicely on the black.

:17:16.:17:26.
:17:26.:17:30.

have loved to have seen a few more frames. But, well, at least they got

:17:31.:17:39.

a chance to see him tonight. He's missed it! Just reiterate what you

:17:40.:17:49.
:17:50.:18:09.

are saying! Lack of concentration! probably one I on tomorrow already.

:18:09.:18:19.
:18:19.:18:33.

yourself such high standards. It is focus will be back and I don't think

:18:33.:18:43.
:18:43.:18:52.

he will be missing any blacks off not the gentlemanly thing to do. So

:18:53.:18:58.

maybe he will be fit to Ronnie to make a Grandstand finish. He's in

:18:58.:19:03.

the semi-final. Can he just entertain the packed house one more

:19:03.:19:13.
:19:13.:19:39.

will come now. I'm sure Stuart will not be too disappointed. Rory played

:19:39.:19:47.

well in the first and middle sessions. -- Ronnie. Stuart only

:19:47.:19:52.

took one frame this evening and it was an impossible task for the man

:19:52.:19:54.

from Essex. Ronnie O'Sullivan is through to the semi-final and wins

:19:54.:20:01.

13-4. Ten minutes and 46 seconds. That is

:20:01.:20:11.

uneasy evening's work. But quit -- quick work and we expected it.

:20:11.:20:15.

now he camera lacks, go out with his powers and get a bite to eat and

:20:15.:20:18.

then look forward to what we are looking forward to - a match with

:20:18.:20:28.
:20:28.:20:29.

Judd Trump. -- now he can relax. If you can get to see that game, you

:20:29.:20:39.

shouldn't miss it. Lets talk to A bit strange to come back for one

:20:39.:20:46.

frame tonight, but how did you feel about those early sessions?

:20:46.:20:50.

didn't play that great earlier. But he has had a great season again so I

:20:51.:20:55.

congratulate him. But he didn't play his best and let me off the hook a

:20:55.:20:59.

few times. But that can happen at The Crucible. It is a big venue,

:20:59.:21:05.

lots of pressure. Sometimes you can, you know, make mistakes. But when

:21:06.:21:09.

you got in, it was among the best we have ever seen from you here. It was

:21:10.:21:18.

just great to watch? It was flowing and easy. I'm glad you enjoyed it! I

:21:18.:21:26.

scored a few breaks. But like I say, a lot of my stuff can come off the

:21:26.:21:31.

stakes -- the mistakes Stuart made. You said at the start of the

:21:31.:21:34.

tournament you weren't sure what you could produce. You happy with what

:21:35.:21:42.

you have done so far? I'm surprised I have made it this far. So, yeah, I

:21:42.:21:47.

am still in it. A quick word about the semi-final against Judd. That

:21:47.:21:51.

will be a massive occasion and the fans are certainly looking forward

:21:51.:21:55.

to that? Yes. Once you get down to the one table set-up it is a

:21:55.:22:00.

fantastic arena, so I am just pleased to still be in it, to be

:22:00.:22:05.

honest. Thank you, Ronnie. I don't want to be accused of hyping

:22:05.:22:12.

this matchup but Judd did say in his interview he is going on the attack.

:22:12.:22:22.

Yes. He said he saw Ronnie miss one or two. But he needs to watch

:22:22.:22:28.

earlier because that is some of the best he has played. Believe you me,

:22:28.:22:31.

that first session of seven frames was just magnificent, even though he

:22:31.:22:37.

said he wasn't happy with his performance in that first seven.

:22:38.:22:47.

Ronnie looks remarkably relaxed and he was in our studio earlier, we had

:22:47.:22:52.

a quick chat with him. He said possibly this would be car crash

:22:52.:22:56.

television and this is the most entertaining we have seen for some

:22:56.:23:00.

time. Yes, not just the way he went about scoring the breaks and the

:23:00.:23:05.

long pots and everything. Everything he knocked in was brilliant. In the

:23:05.:23:12.

right place, very focused. Even when he was behind, he was still time to

:23:12.:23:17.

play the snookers. Totally immersed in what he was doing. And that break

:23:17.:23:23.

of 133 - it is as good a break as we have seen. People say to me

:23:23.:23:27.

sometimes, you sit and watch a lot of snooker, and you know, they say,

:23:27.:23:34.

what are the best six performances you have seen? It is probably one

:23:34.:23:39.

from him and for five from Ronnie O'Sullivan. It is the best you can

:23:39.:23:44.

see him play. He has hardly played any snooker for 11, 12 months. But

:23:44.:23:50.

other people are saying Mark Selby feels as though he has burnt out. Is

:23:50.:23:54.

it going to catch up with Ronnie, the fact he hasn't played for 11, 12

:23:54.:24:00.

months? I don't think so. What I was amazed that was that he didn't have

:24:00.:24:06.

the match practice. There is nothing like... It is like also in. You can

:24:06.:24:10.

have a gallop as much as you like but there's nothing like a race. --

:24:10.:24:18.

it is like horseracing. It is fascinating. It is interesting what

:24:18.:24:23.

you say about horse racing. It is like Rugby Union where you can see

:24:23.:24:29.

players being battle hardened. Do you think he is ready for the final?

:24:29.:24:33.

Yes. It is up to other players to knock him out. He lost a bit of

:24:34.:24:39.

focus this evening. You think you have won. He won't be doing that

:24:39.:24:43.

against Judd Trump. You have to feel a great deal of sympathy for Stuart

:24:43.:24:51.

You have had a great season but there's not a lot you can do when

:24:51.:24:56.

somebody is producing that on the table? Yes. Other than the first

:24:56.:25:05.

frame, when I made a bad safety shot, I had every first chance, so I

:25:05.:25:09.

think for him to get in, his longest shot was about four feet! So

:25:09.:25:13.

obviously, the player he is, how good he is, he is going to score

:25:13.:25:16.

well from there. So it is disappointing from my point of view

:25:17.:25:22.

but when he plays like that, as you say, he is very hard. You took it in

:25:22.:25:27.

great spirit and the fact you forced it into the start of this evening,

:25:27.:25:33.

it is that sense of Basildon pride. Yes. Obviously I kept myself going a

:25:33.:25:40.

bit longer. It has been an unbelievable year. I was talking

:25:41.:25:47.

with my manager and coach and I took this season from the start and made

:25:47.:25:53.

three wins, several quarter-finals and finals. It has been

:25:53.:26:03.
:26:03.:26:03.

unbelievable. You think this title has Ronnie's name on it? I had some

:26:03.:26:08.

first chance is there, so I will be sitting there, watching it tomorrow

:26:08.:26:12.

with Judd and Ronnie... I don't know. The bottom half of the draw

:26:12.:26:16.

has obviously opened up but you have three good players left in it.

:26:16.:26:22.

Barry. I hope he does really well. He is a good friend. And he has come

:26:22.:26:27.

on this year. So I think obviously whoever wins out of Ronnie and Judd

:26:27.:26:30.

will be favourite but it should be a good match. Thank you for talking to

:26:30.:26:36.

us. See you next season. Well played, Stuart Bingham. We have

:26:36.:26:45.

to congratulate him on what has been a great season. Yes. He has won two

:26:45.:26:51.

small PPC is. He has become such a good all-round match player. --

:26:51.:27:01.
:27:01.:27:01.

PTCs. And maybe he should have won the Welsh Open in February? Yes. He

:27:01.:27:06.

has turned up and put a good performance in. He lost 13-4 and we

:27:06.:27:11.

could go on about it, but Ronnie O'Sullivan was William. We are going

:27:11.:27:15.

to take you live to the match between Ricky Walden and Michael

:27:15.:27:19.

White. As you can see, it has come down to the black. You have been

:27:19.:27:27.

keeping a close eye on this, John? Yes. A chance came for the black up

:27:27.:27:31.

into the corner pocket and then he missed it. He has got to be careful

:27:31.:27:36.

with this. It is one of those. If you hit the right hand cushioning,

:27:36.:27:42.

it goes up safe. If you hit the jaws, you leave it. -- right hand

:27:42.:27:52.

cushioning. If he knocks this in, he will be very, very relieved. And in

:27:52.:28:02.
:28:02.:28:10.

most improved players and people having a good tournament, Ricky is

:28:10.:28:16.

scoring well? Yes, he obviously loves China. Did well in Shanghai.

:28:16.:28:20.

Much improved and a really good lad from Chester. He has become a much

:28:20.:28:24.

better player. He has had the experience. This is all new and

:28:24.:28:29.

uncharted territory for him. We had a chat and at one point he was tired

:28:29.:28:33.

after one session. These are the things all the players have to go

:28:33.:28:38.

through and get experience. It an emotional roller-coaster. He came

:28:38.:28:42.

through the next session and despite being in front, he said, I just

:28:42.:28:46.

couldn't relax. I didn't feel I was involved in the match. These are all

:28:46.:28:51.

things you have to learn as you go on. And Ricky Walden has gone under

:28:51.:28:57.

the radar a bit? I called at the half of doom in the first half of

:28:58.:29:02.

the tournament because so many players fell away. He has come

:29:02.:29:07.

through again and he is playing against... Sorry, he beat Michael

:29:07.:29:10.

Holt and now has Michael White. He has come through in press of re-and

:29:10.:29:20.
:29:20.:29:23.

to be honest with you, here's a good break-builder. He's not of anybody.

:29:23.:29:29.

What about Michael White? Yes, a good player. I played him a few

:29:29.:29:33.

times as a junior. I thought, who is this fella? He is about the size of

:29:33.:29:38.

the table! And I thought, he is going to be a player and he is

:29:38.:29:44.

proving it now. Once he gets the experience, he is going to be a

:29:44.:29:48.

proper player. Lets join our commentary team live. This is Steve

:29:48.:29:58.
:29:58.:30:01.

TERRY GRIFFITHS: So, Ricky Walden will be delighted winning this

:30:01.:30:09.

frame. He has left Michael White a possible long shot. But if the

:30:09.:30:15.

frames are level, you could see him taking one of these on but he might

:30:15.:30:25.
:30:25.:30:25.

Apology for the loss of subtitles for 44 seconds

:30:25.:31:50.

She claimed that nicely. -- he I have mentioned a few times that

:31:50.:31:55.

Ricky Walden was 9-3 up and his first match against Robert Milkins,

:31:55.:32:01.

and some say it could affect him in this match. I think he is better

:32:01.:32:04.

prepared for a fight back from Michael White. Which she did prove

:32:04.:32:10.

this afternoon when Michael White won three on the spin. Ricky Walden

:32:10.:32:20.
:32:20.:32:20.

has done -- has won the last two frames. He is strong favourite now
