Was there a poisoned patience about

that victory?

I think so, going

back, Saints renowned for going in

for a try and then exploding with a

few more and the freely at the game

is gone, but Warrington came back

into that game but St Helens

believed in what they were doing and

they eventually pulled away.

Kyle

and Moore was on the programme a few

weeks ago and described Richardson

as cocky, does he show you all the

attributes of going all the way?

Of

course, I like to see youngsters

coming in, at the end of the day he

is the architect, he is the piano

player. With the skill said he has

got I don't see why he wouldn't be

confident. He can kick the ball, he

can pass, he has got great vision

and seems an all-round player for

me. Another great half-back who has

been introduced.

Real poise about

his play.

There are a lot of young

kids in this team and I think St

Helens are seeing the fruits of our

really good academy setup, they have

had a dominant team for the last few

years. They are starting to come

through the St Helens Academy system

together and now they've got to the

first team together so they are

looking good.

Saints going very

nicely, it goes without saying, what

do you make of Warrington, they've

had good bits and not so good bets,

being in games then falling away. We

need to work on our tackle control

they say?

I think that means slowed

the opposition down in which every

team tries to do. They've been a bit

up and down, that is worse since

been good, the consistency

throughout the 80 minutes and

throughout the games they played and

that is what Warrington will be

striving for. They have got the

players that can do that, proven

players at international level but

that is what Steve Price will be

wanting, more consistency.

No end to

St Helens perfect start to the

season but what about Wakefield?

They were looking to make it five

out of five at Wigan. History was

made as Tara Jones became the first

female official in Super League, she

was the end goal judge.

started the season that they are

disappointed to go to Wigan and not

get a result.

And they will be, the

standards they have set over the

last few years have risen

dramatically. As much as they would

have looked at that game and felt we

could go there and win I don't think

they should be too disappointed.

Great start to the year and I'm sure

they will be looking to get back to

winning ways.

Will it be key to

those top four aspirations they

clearly have two bounce back next

week?

Yeah, and that's the thing.

You don't want to be a reactive

team. Going to Wigan away is a tough

proposition for any team never mind

Wakefield so they will be looking

forward to next week and hopefully

getting back to getting a W next to

their name.

Tomkins pretty much instrumental to

everything, what you make of the

system?

He's going back to the old

Sam Tomkins were seized challenging

defenders. An under Orthodox sort of

retaining the trophy. In the Super

story, the Rhinos progressed to Old

Trafford and gland final glory.

COMMENTATOR: Hull there to keep this

He reminds me very

much of Danny McGuire in his career

and how he developed. Started well,

there were a few questions about

whether he could take up the mantle

of the great Danny McGuire and he

seems to have stepped up and grabbed

it with both hands. He seems to be,

his kicking game is great, he is

patient, orchestrating a lot of the

attack, the good stuff happening

around Leeds and I think he's been a

revelation.

guys particularly with the injuries

you have got.

It was a really

positive thing coming out of the

game, the amount of young lads we

are almost forced to play because of

injuries but it gives them a chance

to play and some of our players,

Jack Logan has not played for two

years and he was out there looking

good. Jordan Abdull, good to see him

back after a loan spell last year

and pulling the strings when we were

at our best in the second half. Some

real positives to come out of the

game.

Next up Leeds is a trip to old

rivals St Helens on Friday.

I think he is one

of the greatest players to have

played Super League. The form at the

moment is as good as it has ever

been. To give you an insight into

what he is looking at, James Roby,

as any good hooker they are looking

at are the markers set? If not he

will pick the ball up and

only way to defend it is plug the

gap, but he comes off the inside

foot, picks up Jon Wilkin with a

great pass, great vision and great

He's one of

the best attacking weapons, his days

more consistent through the 80

That has been the talk of

the season for us so far, attacking

right for 20 minutes then struggling

defensively, then struggled

defensively and vice versa. Back and

forth. But we had an 80 minutes

where it wasn't great but we were

consistent.

A nasty injury to come

back from, is he looking more like

his old self?

He's very instinctive

with how he plays, he plays best

with a smile on his face. One side

of the field to the other side,

chasing kicks, diving fireballs he

should not be anywhere near the

vicinity. When he has a smile on his

face he is happy, plays great for us

and plays real good the other night.

do you put that to one side do you

pick through the bones of it as a

coach?

You're picking through the

bones are looking for reasons why.

Getting off to a good start in the

game is crucial to how the game pans

out as it goes on. They will be

looking at that as an area of

improvement for next week.

They

started the season exceptionally

well but they have got a young lad

in that squad, they have all played

very well but it's difficult for

young lads to back it up every week

and I don't know that was maybe one

game too far so far?

Now to the

Jungle were today John Wells has

their third consecutive home game on

Sunday when Salford were in town.

Castleford looking for the third win

in a row and got off to the ideal

start, Michael Shenton barging his

Salford remain camped on their

nudging the Tigers further ahead and

more to come. On the half-hour mark

the book came into play again, the

grubber took a wicked ricochet and a

couple bumbles later touched down.

After a quiet opening half Salford

came out with intent in the second,

binding the gap in the Tigers

defence and the visitors finally on

the scoreboard. Salford struggling

to find momentum, Caddell 's words

continued to press with some

tensions and frustrations bubbling

the referee was forced to intervene

again. The grapple on the ground

between Logan Tomkins and Grant

Millington turned into a wrestling

demonstration with players piling

Both Tompkins and Millington were

sent to the sidelines for ten

minutes. The penalty extended the

lead further and the game looked

going to affect those players isn't

it. A bed of unrest at the top, we

were talking fair, they've not been

playing bad rubbish.

Salford have

not been that far off, the structure

and the style of the way the play,

entertaining, lapses in

concentration now and again.

played cattle and three weeks ago

played again on Saturday.

There was an era of tension in this

game of cattle and still looking for

the first win and Hull KR only their

second. Defence is on top so early

points were just an exchange of

penalties. More point still to come

daylight opened up. But Rovers were

not done yet. An awkward bounce from

Justin Carney. With a quarter of an

hour to go it was levelled again. In

the end the game was settled after

controversy. Michael McIlorum's pass

string to Maurice Blair who was on

his knees beside him. And angry

Rovers coach Tim Sheens felt it was

a deliberate act targeting a player

to earn a penalty. The referee

disagreed and Alberta made no

mistake with the conversion to give

cattle and their first win of the

season to the relief of the home

It's

just negative, I don't think it

should be in the rules. The rules

last year when we said it would not

definitely be happy.
