That was one of the all-time great nights for British swimming

:00:37.:00:48.

swimming. Go quite decent start from Adam Peaty. His dominance set the

:00:49.:00:54.

town, no one was taking his title away. Adam Peaty has destroyed the

:00:55.:01:01.

best in the world, absolutely obliterated them. Adam Peaty has an

:01:02.:01:12.

aura now, a Bolt in the blue. It is a moment I will never forget. Ben

:01:13.:01:20.

Proud is world champion! Ben Proud stunned the world with that swim,

:01:21.:01:25.

and I think even surprised himself. I am on the verge of tears. Two gold

:01:26.:01:32.

medals in one night, two incredible performances, and to think there is

:01:33.:01:37.

more to come. Talk about a night to live up to, tonight has all the

:01:38.:01:41.

ingredients. James Guy and Duncan Scott could win medals here, no

:01:42.:01:47.

doubt. In this arena, with this crowd, anything is possible.

:01:48.:01:52.

And just when you thought it couldn't get any better, earlier

:01:53.:01:54.

today, it happened. COMMENTATOR: Peaty normally picks it

:01:55.:02:06.

up about 20 metres in, not the greatest start-up. Adam Peaty right

:02:07.:02:10.

in the centre, and goodness me, not the greatest start again! Lots of

:02:11.:02:17.

work to be done, but this is where he is strong, 25 metres to go, and

:02:18.:02:23.

starting to power away. Look at that, he picks up another gear, the

:02:24.:02:29.

world record is 26.4, it looks like he is well under! He has almost got

:02:30.:02:33.

a full body length, 26.1, a new world record, quite an extraordinary

:02:34.:02:41.

swim! I have no idea how he has done that, 26.1 with a terrible start,

:02:42.:02:46.

but he is nodding in approval, he likes it.

:02:47.:02:51.

So Britain has two world titles, one world record, and in the 200 metres

:02:52.:02:58.

freestyle final, the two fastest are Brits.

:02:59.:03:08.

Duncan Scott and James Guy qualified the top two fastest for this final,

:03:09.:03:16.

breaking the British record. James Guy the defending British champion,

:03:17.:03:21.

this is Duncan Scott's first major final. Olympic champion Sun Yang.

:03:22.:03:30.

The Chinese support team here, looking strong at this World

:03:31.:03:34.

Championships. But this is the defending champion, world 200 metres

:03:35.:03:39.

freestyle, for the first time, I have to say, Steve, he looked pretty

:03:40.:03:44.

confident in the semifinals. That is right, James Guy yesterday really,

:03:45.:03:49.

really good, but beaten by this fella, Duncan Scott. We expected

:03:50.:03:54.

things from him in the 100 metres freestyle, he comes into this the

:03:55.:03:58.

fastest freestyler in the world, but these two, it gives you two bytes of

:03:59.:04:04.

the cherry. Absolutely unbelievable performances from them both

:04:05.:04:07.

yesterday, just daring to dream a little bit that they might actually

:04:08.:04:11.

take on the Olympic champion here, Sun Yang. He is going in three.

:04:12.:04:16.

Duncan Scott and James Guy next to each other, could that help or

:04:17.:04:21.

hinder? Both the Brits still have all the kit on, everybody else has

:04:22.:04:25.

all like it off. Both the Brits making everybody waits, interesting

:04:26.:04:29.

tactic, the other guys are looking around, what is going on? I like

:04:30.:04:34.

that, a bit of needle, let's wind them up a little bit, we are in

:04:35.:04:39.

charge of Lance! James Guy there, but Duncan Scott hasn't even got his

:04:40.:04:45.

T-shirt off yet. Years certainly make them all wait. The Brits have

:04:46.:04:57.

made the rest of them wait a long, long time. This will be interesting.

:04:58.:05:07.

Scott has got to get out quick, and James Guy, he needs to do a bit of

:05:08.:05:11.

both if he is going to retain this title. Four lengths' freestyle, the

:05:12.:05:18.

World Championship final, men's 200 free. The Brits are in the centre,

:05:19.:05:33.

Scott and Guy. A good start from James Guy, the defending world

:05:34.:05:39.

champion is off like a shot in five, going very well right at the top,

:05:40.:05:46.

Kozma of Hungary, he has gone off very quick. It is a TV swim for him,

:05:47.:05:51.

he wants to build with the crowd, they have been brilliant all week,

:05:52.:05:57.

but look as James Guy in five, and next to him Townley Haas, the

:05:58.:06:01.

American, the second fastest swimmer this year. I don't want to see James

:06:02.:06:05.

Guy go out too fast, I want to make sure he has got plenty in the tank

:06:06.:06:10.

for later in the mid two. I would like to see Duncan Scott using his

:06:11.:06:15.

speed against Sun Yang. This is such a tight event, only one second is

:06:16.:06:21.

celebrating the entire field. And look at that, James Guy is saying to

:06:22.:06:26.

himself, look, you are not going to get my title off me easily. James

:06:27.:06:32.

Guy is first to turn, and now comes the Olympic champion, the pink suit

:06:33.:06:38.

of Sun Yang in lane three, and that is pretty ominous. When he goes, he

:06:39.:06:45.

really goes. 50 metres to go at the turn, it looks like Sun Yang might

:06:46.:06:50.

be third. James Guy is fourth, Duncan Scott is sixth. Can James Guy

:06:51.:06:58.

hold onto him? Townley Haas in six is starting to move as well. You can

:06:59.:07:02.

throw a blanket over these guys, 15 metres to go! The medals are not

:07:03.:07:09.

going to the British swimmers, but look at Sun Yang, the Olympic

:07:10.:07:16.

champion will be world champion, 1:44.3, brilliant to get gold, the

:07:17.:07:20.

silver has gone to Townley Haas of the USA, but goodness me, the Brits

:07:21.:07:24.

just outside the medals in fourth and fifth. Krasnykh of Russia gets

:07:25.:07:37.

the bronze. James Guy, oh, he was back in fifth place. What a tight

:07:38.:07:42.

race, but Sun Yang when so early, and when he goes, my goodness me, he

:07:43.:07:48.

goes. He really turned it on with 70 metres to go, and look what it means

:07:49.:07:52.

doing, having A-level barny with the pool at the end of the race. I

:07:53.:07:56.

wonder if he is going to do his Pat Cash and get back in the crowd

:07:57.:08:00.

again. Duncan Scott might be disappointed, he was disappointed

:08:01.:08:06.

last night. It is hard to repeat the time from last night in the final,

:08:07.:08:10.

but that would have got a bronze medal. Both of the Brits, their

:08:11.:08:17.

qualifying times, both would have won bronze, but is told in these

:08:18.:08:21.

finals, a lot of cap and mouse, people going in different places,

:08:22.:08:25.

and the Sun Yang a slowdown that first 50. One positive thing for the

:08:26.:08:34.

Brits, they are going to have a cracking freestyle relay, look at

:08:35.:08:39.

that, the Olympic champion backs it up with World Championship gold.

:08:40.:08:52.

Look at the reactions, he has given absolutely everything. Sun Yang,

:08:53.:08:56.

world champion, men's 200 metres freestyle. And he did this in the

:08:57.:09:02.

400, he is not meant to go down the pool, but he brushes past the

:09:03.:09:07.

referee goes and high-fives Hartlepool. -- half the pool. The

:09:08.:09:17.

Australian coach sitting with some of the Chinese guys there. He used

:09:18.:09:21.

to coach Australia, but he has been working with Sun Yang for a long

:09:22.:09:27.

time now. He loves this, Anyang. I saw him in Shanghai, he went all the

:09:28.:09:32.

way around the pool and shook everybody's hand. He is back after

:09:33.:09:41.

his ban, interesting character. So the results of the men's 200

:09:42.:09:52.

metres freestyle, very close indeed, Sun Yang winning it relatively

:09:53.:09:55.

comfortable. But very close from second to fifth. And I believe

:09:56.:10:05.

Sharron Davies can talk to James and Duncan.

:10:06.:10:16.

Duncan, a little bit disappointed, I am sure. Yeah, definitely, I tried

:10:17.:10:24.

my best, in the semifinal, which is not always ideal, but I stepped

:10:25.:10:30.

forward, it is an experience I will remember and move on. You probably

:10:31.:10:34.

surprised us by the way you swam that, we expected you to go out as a

:10:35.:10:37.

sprinter but you add strength at the end of the race. It is something I

:10:38.:10:42.

have been working on, trying to swim its different ways. I need to work

:10:43.:10:49.

out the best ways to swim it but yeah. It is a very loud crowd, the

:10:50.:10:57.

atmosphere is amazing. The crowd is amazing, yeah, great noise tonight.

:10:58.:11:02.

How are you feeling right now? I know you were hoping that this would

:11:03.:11:07.

work for you here. I mean, absolutely devastated, I thought I

:11:08.:11:19.

could 1:44.8, but I got carried away last night, took too much out of me

:11:20.:11:25.

last night. On a positive note, two Brits in a fantastic position for

:11:26.:11:29.

the relay. Yeah, the relay is good, good chance of a medal there. Real

:11:30.:11:36.

chance of a gold medal. There really is, we are both on 1:45.0, so it is

:11:37.:11:41.

good for the relay. So Duncan Scott and James Guy just

:11:42.:11:53.

missing out on medals there, you can understand the frustration for them.

:11:54.:11:57.

We heard James say he was disappointed, went out too fast, how

:11:58.:12:03.

hard is it to swim your own race? I think that is what the boys didn't

:12:04.:12:07.

do, you saw Duncan in the Semites, he had easy speed and looked

:12:08.:12:11.

relaxed, but tonight he swam it completely differently. Same with

:12:12.:12:17.

James, I don't know if they just thought that was the way that the

:12:18.:12:22.

rest of the field were going, but you have to stick to your own race,

:12:23.:12:27.

that is what we saw Ben do last night, and if they had done that, we

:12:28.:12:32.

could have taken a bronze medal. Exactly, it is as if James tried to

:12:33.:12:37.

break the rest of the field to get away from them, but it is

:12:38.:12:40.

confidence, and adrenaline gets the better of you. When you are on form,

:12:41.:12:45.

and he was last night, he probably thought he could do the best time

:12:46.:12:48.

and take the title, but you have to stick to your race plan. Sun Yang

:12:49.:12:55.

was a little away from him, he couldn't see what he was doing, I

:12:56.:13:01.

thought Duncan did a good job in his first major final, not his main

:13:02.:13:07.

event. Two consecutive fourths, Rio and here, he must really feel like

:13:08.:13:12.

he needs to get on the podium. Let's have a look at the final 25 metres,

:13:13.:13:18.

Sun Yang is so dominant. You knew it was really over by the third,

:13:19.:13:24.

because when he goes, there is no stopping him. I think James didn't

:13:25.:13:29.

have that extra gear that you step it up to. Duncan, like we saw in the

:13:30.:13:34.

semis, had easy speed and swam its differently. But it is great for the

:13:35.:13:40.

relay, and especially for Duncan's 100 metres freestyle, I think that

:13:41.:13:44.

will be very special. So it wasn't to be in the first event, but a

:13:45.:13:50.

successful day for British swimming. Earlier this morning, in the heat of

:13:51.:13:53.

the 50 metres breaststroke, we saw Adam Peaty, and it is there to say

:13:54.:13:58.

he was in phenomenal form, wasn't he? What did you make of that world

:13:59.:14:03.

record? You could see it last night, he went 26.5 for the first 100, only

:14:04.:14:14.

0.1 off his world record. I'd thought he would be a bit tired and

:14:15.:14:19.

would save it for tonight. The pressure was off this morning, he

:14:20.:14:22.

said himself that he didn't even really get up for it, he just wanted

:14:23.:14:27.

to make it through the rounds. But Adam will always swim past, he has

:14:28.:14:33.

that natural ability and speed and competitiveness, he had seen that

:14:34.:14:36.

Cameron van der Burgh had swam a great time in the previous heat, so

:14:37.:14:40.

he wanted to get the prime lane position for the semifinals.

:14:41.:14:44.

I think it's fair to say he was survived and was speaking to us

:14:45.:14:50.

after the heat and admitted he wasn't even trying his hardest.

:14:51.:14:56.

A fantastic nod of had to say, take that, Cameronette. Last night, I

:14:57.:15:04.

came in obviously, lots of energy involved and last night I couldn't

:15:05.:15:08.

get to sleep. Thankfully I'm working with the team now and I have nailed

:15:09.:15:13.

sleeping pattern. Switch my phone off, go to bed and my performance

:15:14.:15:18.

showed this morning. I am not here to get the world record but I'm here

:15:19.:15:21.

to get it in the finals so hopefully I can build a game for tomorrow. At

:15:22.:15:26.

fantastic world-record and sometimes being relaxed as an important.

:15:27.:15:31.

Breaststroke, wanting to go faster, do go slower, the last ten years of

:15:32.:15:37.

experience there, it's great to give the crowd and early wake-up call.

:15:38.:15:44.

Camera and did not appear in his 100 metres. Putting its eggs in one

:15:45.:15:48.

basket with a 50. Yes, those are his tactics. And extremely proud to

:15:49.:15:53.

stand up there and get the world-record in the name of my

:15:54.:15:57.

country and hopefully inspire millions back home. 25 coming? Never

:15:58.:16:06.

say never. That was this morning. Still to come this evening... But

:16:07.:16:12.

the world-record underworld title already in the bag, so far this

:16:13.:16:20.

week, what will Adam Peaty do next? Dawson goes into final in the 100

:16:21.:16:32.

metre backstroke. And let's go crazy for Sarah Vasey in the Women's 100m

:16:33.:16:38.

Breast Stroke final. One of the most dominant summers of our generation

:16:39.:16:43.

out there in the pool now in the 1500, talk through what we can

:16:44.:16:47.

expect to see from Katie Ledecky this week. Pure dominance. I think

:16:48.:16:54.

her biggest task this week is probably the 200 metres freestyle.

:16:55.:16:58.

That is where she has the stiffest competition but the distance events,

:16:59.:17:02.

the 800, 1500 metres, it will be hurt against the clock. How many

:17:03.:17:08.

gold medals can she get? Let's see how Katie Ledecky gets on in this

:17:09.:17:17.

one. Let's dine Andy and Steve. -- let's join.

:17:18.:17:24.

COMMENTATOR: The final of the Women's 1500m Freestyle is all about

:17:25.:17:29.

Katie Ledecky. A best time, 22 seconds faster than anyone else. 26

:17:30.:17:36.

seconds faster than anyone else this year. Quite extraordinary. Versus

:17:37.:17:44.

the 400 metre term, she has done eight lengths, 1100 left, 22 lengths

:17:45.:17:51.

left. The final of the Women's 1500m Freestyle, so Katie Ledecky leading,

:17:52.:17:57.

sagging at the moment there's Simona Quadarella from Italy. Third, Mireia

:17:58.:18:04.

Belmonte from Spain. Three, four, five, six, seven, very close. From

:18:05.:18:08.

the start, Katie Ledecky looks strong. Six metres ahead after the

:18:09.:18:12.

first term, quite extraordinary. Steve, you have seen her go. Do you

:18:13.:18:18.

think she is going to lap them? It's interesting because Katie Ledecky

:18:19.:18:22.

has the 200 metres freestyle, only one hour away later in the

:18:23.:18:28.

programme. We are watching two different races here. The other five

:18:29.:18:35.

guys are racing for the bronze and silver medal so I'm more interested

:18:36.:18:38.

at this date in the medal race because there are five girls in

:18:39.:18:42.

their having a right old ding-dong for the medals. You can just see

:18:43.:18:46.

them now. They are just coming into view at the moment but here is Katie

:18:47.:18:51.

Ledecky, just outside her world-record pace, 2.5 seconds, but

:18:52.:18:56.

I wonder what Rebecca Adlington thinks of this? It's ridiculous,

:18:57.:19:03.

isn't it? It is insane. You can't even see the other guys on the

:19:04.:19:06.

screen most of the time because they are that far behind. I don't think

:19:07.:19:10.

she will want to go for the world-record. If it happens, it

:19:11.:19:15.

happens, of course, but for her, the 200 metres is the toughest challenge

:19:16.:19:23.

for her. She came into this noting the gold medal would be around her

:19:24.:19:26.

neck and has not broken the world-record in this event since

:19:27.:19:31.

2015, so, for her, that's quite a long time to not break the

:19:32.:19:37.

world-record. In 2015, she actually said, I have done that by accident,

:19:38.:19:41.

broken the world-record, did not mean to do it. She did it in the

:19:42.:19:45.

heats, such was her dominance. She has broken this record five times

:19:46.:19:52.

already and we know she can break at a game of. She looks different this

:19:53.:19:57.

week, I think. It looks like she has more power. I think she knows,

:19:58.:20:01.

coming into this, the distance events are hers and the challenge

:20:02.:20:06.

for her shorter distances. She has moved programmes and here it is

:20:07.:20:11.

different tactics to easy speed I think which it has want to do so I

:20:12.:20:15.

think her stroke look at the different. In the heats, I was

:20:16.:20:23.

watching all of the heats, and it was interesting because she got to

:20:24.:20:27.

the 500 metre turn and then for the next five 100, she picked up by a

:20:28.:20:33.

whole second 100, which I think she is in quicker. Two seconds above

:20:34.:20:42.

world-record pace. Let's just see what she is here. You will see on

:20:43.:20:45.

the bottom left of the screen, just to see how far she is, 2.1. She has

:20:46.:20:54.

let it go for two seconds. May be starting to pick the pace up a

:20:55.:20:59.

little bit? She's got to play a game, and entertain herself because

:21:00.:21:03.

she's got nobody else to raise. It must be hard to swim on your own and

:21:04.:21:08.

never have somebody pushing you, so she is wobbly saying: I either tried

:21:09.:21:13.

to lap them entertain myself or she will try to see what she has got in

:21:14.:21:25.

the bag. -- probably saving. I mean, she has got to want to break the

:21:26.:21:28.

world-record every single time she gets in the pool and this is the

:21:29.:21:32.

longest I could she has not broken for a while so why not? Often 1500

:21:33.:21:39.

metres swimmers do it in blocks of 500 so she could build into this,

:21:40.:21:43.

but I'm interested in the silver and bronze medal place. Boglarka Kapas,

:21:44.:21:51.

the hon Mary, got the bronze medal at the last championships and is

:21:52.:21:56.

starting to wind it up now and every time she touches the wall, the crowd

:21:57.:22:03.

gets very excited. There are still four people in it for the minor

:22:04.:22:06.

medals so it is a cat and mouse things. Minor medals? I can say

:22:07.:22:15.

that. I think it's interesting. We've already seen Mireia Belmonte

:22:16.:22:18.

this week, not on her greatest form coming into this. For her, she has

:22:19.:22:24.

had shoulder injuries, and she is a butterfly swimmer who adds distance

:22:25.:22:31.

events in but the crowd have been so fantastical ready this week. The

:22:32.:22:36.

crowd have put on an incredible show. They've got behind every

:22:37.:22:39.

single event and really encouraged their athletes as well, so I think

:22:40.:22:44.

hope the crowd can pull through Boglarka Kapas, especially in the

:22:45.:22:48.

last couple of metres when accounts. Very sick and the gun here, Andy,

:22:49.:22:53.

because Katie Ledecky just turning, three seconds off world-record pace,

:22:54.:22:59.

a significant race for her, currently tied with Missy Franklin

:23:00.:23:02.

on 11 gold medals, so if she wins gold here, she will be the top

:23:03.:23:11.

female. How great for her to be out there on her own with 12 gold medals

:23:12.:23:17.

and still only halfway through. It's a significant stroke rates increase

:23:18.:23:28.

their from Katie Ledecky. She seems to be winding it up here now. She's

:23:29.:23:32.

pulling close of the world-record line. Yes, nothing is ever in doubt

:23:33.:23:39.

when it comes to Katie Ledecky. Anything is possible but her because

:23:40.:23:43.

she is such a unique athlete, a bit of Michael Phelps character, very

:23:44.:23:48.

rare. Unless she breaks her records, no one else is touching them for

:23:49.:23:54.

many, many years. This is a 1000 metre turn, 20 lengths of down, 40

:23:55.:24:00.

lengths of most local pools. 20 here in this Olympic length April. Tend

:24:01.:24:05.

to go in the Women's 1500m Freestyle. The rest of the field,

:24:06.:24:17.

led by Boglarka Kapas. Mireia Belmonte going with her. They have

:24:18.:24:22.

dropped the other two and the 18-year-old from China, Yawen Hou,

:24:23.:24:34.

in third. Simona Quadarella, it looks like Mireia Belmonte are

:24:35.:24:38.

starting to catch. She starts quite slowly and then really picks it up.

:24:39.:24:44.

She's got a massive programme. Yes, Mireia Belmonte this week will be

:24:45.:24:48.

racing 7000 metres which is ridiculous. If you count her

:24:49.:24:54.

warm-ups, she will probably swim close to 50,000 metres. Mireia

:24:55.:25:00.

Belmonte swam against Rebecca Adlington in the Olympic Games.

:25:01.:25:05.

Becky, I was jumping up and down because she came back so strongly

:25:06.:25:08.

against you. You more than anyone know how good she is at the end of

:25:09.:25:14.

her races. Yes, she got so much endurance Mireia Belmonte and she

:25:15.:25:16.

got silver in London and I got the bronze. I know she's a good swimmer.

:25:17.:25:24.

Because she races so much, and the amount of metres, as you have just

:25:25.:25:30.

said, she has the pace to take it. If you go head-to-head with Mireia

:25:31.:25:34.

Belmonte, it's fair to say Mireia Belmonte will probably always get

:25:35.:25:40.

the touch. There is the pink suit of Mireia Belmonte against the Black

:25:41.:25:43.

suit of the Italian, Simona Quadarella but no doubt about the

:25:44.:25:46.

lead at the moment. This is a 1200 metres turn coming up now, 50 metres

:25:47.:25:52.

time. The 1200 metres turn, fixed length is left in this final of the

:25:53.:25:58.

Women's 1500m Freestyle. That is Katie Ledecky and she is such a long

:25:59.:26:05.

way ahead, going for the double quadruple. Triple triple is also on.

:26:06.:26:14.

It's ridiculous. She didn't swim the 200 freestyle in 2013. She could

:26:15.:26:17.

have had a chance of the triple quad. It's absolutely ridiculous. We

:26:18.:26:24.

have not ever seen a talent like this in middle distance swimming. To

:26:25.:26:30.

be able to do the two, four and eight and 15 is ridiculous. There is

:26:31.:26:35.

not a reward she has not won a. US athlete of the year, global swimmer

:26:36.:26:41.

of the year, she has cleaned up. I found out that her hobbies include

:26:42.:26:44.

volunteering, Scrabble, Cheshunt piano. -- chess and piano. She is a

:26:45.:26:56.

distance swimmer. We just stare at the black line all day so it doesn't

:26:57.:27:01.

take much to entertain as. Mireia Belmonte name five is looking

:27:02.:27:05.

really, really strong. She looks good for the silver. Kristel Kobrich

:27:06.:27:13.

has settled. Katie Ledecky has definitely got the ability to take

:27:14.:27:17.

on the world-record. I think she is swimming smarter here and has the

:27:18.:27:21.

experience. She doesn't have to break the world-record every time

:27:22.:27:25.

she gets into the water. Look what Mireia Belmonte has done to Simona

:27:26.:27:31.

Quadarella. She has taken two metres out of the world junior champion and

:27:32.:27:35.

that its great experience shown because she's waited long time to

:27:36.:27:39.

take that and now she is really, really going for it. Katie Ledecky

:27:40.:27:43.

going the other way. The 1500-metre mark. She is 30 metres ahead.

:27:44.:27:50.

Goodness gracious me. Katie Ledecky. She is a class unto herself. She has

:27:51.:27:56.

100 metres to go at this turn coming up. There is a fight for the silver

:27:57.:28:00.

and the bronze and it looks like Mireia Belmonte on the 200 fly, the

:28:01.:28:04.

Olympic champion, will take the silver but no doubt about the gold,

:28:05.:28:09.

she is 27 metres in the lead, Katie Ledecky of the USA. The world-record

:28:10.:28:13.

holder on the 1500 metres freestyle, the world-record holder on the 800

:28:14.:28:17.

metres freestyle, and the 400 metres freestyle and world champion. It is

:28:18.:28:26.

no easy feat, this, Andy. She is swimming against the best eight

:28:27.:28:29.

swimmers in the world over this distance and she is actually going

:28:30.:28:34.

to finish a full 1.5 lengths ahead of the person coming second. I often

:28:35.:28:37.

think Katie Ledecky is in the wrong race and should be swimming against

:28:38.:28:41.

the men and that's what she does in training which is why she is so good

:28:42.:28:46.

and she is pushing this event forward and the whole of female

:28:47.:28:51.

swimming. Look at her there. She really does look quite easy. She is

:28:52.:28:56.

just starting to pick up a little bit of a grandstand finish in this

:28:57.:29:01.

last 50 metres. But this gold medal in this Women's 1500m Freestyle

:29:02.:29:07.

makes Katie Ledecky the most successful female in the World

:29:08.:29:10.

Championship swimming history. That is her 12th World Championship gold

:29:11.:29:14.

medal and the time does not matter too much. Six seconds outside her

:29:15.:29:19.

own world-record, but with more swims this evening, she has paced it

:29:20.:29:28.

extremely well. Silver to Mireia Belmonte from Spain and a fabulous

:29:29.:29:31.

bronze to Simona Quadarella from Italy. No wonder Mireia Belmonte

:29:32.:29:40.

look surprised. A time of eight seconds, she knows how to do it when

:29:41.:29:46.

it counts and a made up for the Italian Junior world champion,

:29:47.:29:49.

Simona Quadarella, really performing on their senior stage. The story is

:29:50.:29:52.

really about one lady and that is Katie Ledecky, a pedestrian swim for

:29:53.:29:59.

pay about we will see her back in action in one hour at the other end

:30:00.:30:03.

of the spectrum, the 200 metres freestyle. She is saying, it's too

:30:04.:30:09.

easy. Give me some more. Oh my goodness me. She has won that race

:30:10.:30:12.

by 19 seconds in the end. Katie Ledecky of the USA, 12 World

:30:13.:30:24.

Championship gold medals, it is her third one here, she did not break

:30:25.:30:34.

the world record on the 400 freestyle, but that is the second

:30:35.:30:37.

fastest time in the history. Didn't break the record in the 1500 metres

:30:38.:30:44.

freestyle but did win gold. She has just swam 60 lengths of the local

:30:45.:30:47.

bats and is not even out of breath, I would like to see you do that! You

:30:48.:30:53.

might need one of those sundial clocks for me, I think! Phenomenal,

:30:54.:31:00.

absolutely phenomenal. She is so cool behind the blocks, right in the

:31:01.:31:05.

centre, I hope they show pictures, not quite, she was about half a

:31:06.:31:09.

metre air just after the start, five metres pared after 100. Amazing. --

:31:10.:31:24.

ahead. It looks like she has put a lot of muscle on, she is technically

:31:25.:31:29.

superb, always has been, but that looks like she probably wants to

:31:30.:31:33.

perform in the sprint events, get on the American relays and make sure

:31:34.:31:38.

she wraps up the 200 freestyle, because she is not dominant on the

:31:39.:31:46.

200 free, so that is where she needs to focus. That is not going to be an

:31:47.:31:53.

easy goal at all. Saluting the crowd very good indeed. Belmonte has just

:31:54.:31:58.

seen the time, Maria Belmonte, huge lifetime best. She is hardly

:31:59.:32:06.

breathing, goodness gracious me! Phenomenal. So confirmation of the

:32:07.:32:13.

result of the women's 1500 metres freestyle, Katie Ledecky wins gold

:32:14.:32:17.

and with and becomes the most successful female in World

:32:18.:32:22.

Championship swimming history, her 12th individual gold medal. Katie

:32:23.:32:28.

Ledecky is so far ahead of the rest of the field, what is going through

:32:29.:32:34.

your mind in those last few lengths? Issue chasing down the world record?

:32:35.:32:40.

That was just a warm up for the 200! She didn't even seem out of breath,

:32:41.:32:45.

19 seconds add of the rest of the field, absolutely crazy. I think it

:32:46.:32:50.

is in the back of her mind, because she is more than capable of breaking

:32:51.:32:56.

the world record, but it will be a tough battle, just a semifinal, but

:32:57.:33:01.

she has to give it everything. It will be on the back of her mind, I

:33:02.:33:07.

am sure. How often do we see the freestyle is so good at all the

:33:08.:33:12.

different distances? Not so often, you normally get 800 and 1500, then

:33:13.:33:20.

the middle distance, so going back to what you said about the last

:33:21.:33:23.

three lengths, I was going, don't ask me, I only did one length! He

:33:24.:33:30.

cannot turn! You do not get someone whose brands two minutes up to 15

:33:31.:33:35.

minutes, and that is why she is such a special specimen. A lot of people

:33:36.:33:39.

might think it is just a question of making the swimmer train harder, no,

:33:40.:33:44.

she is special, that much different to everybody else. When she races

:33:45.:33:49.

and produces lactic, she flushes it out at the same time, and you cannot

:33:50.:33:54.

teach that, that is what you and I have got. You cannot change your

:33:55.:33:59.

busy between races, Anne Shirley sprinters and distance runners are

:34:00.:34:04.

normally builds differently. -- and surely. It is like putting Mo Farah

:34:05.:34:10.

with Usain Bolt to race, it is unheard of, and she is so good and

:34:11.:34:16.

so dominant. As Steve said, she does look like she has got a bit more

:34:17.:34:24.

power this time, so I think she can probably relax on the distance. She

:34:25.:34:30.

knows that is a good area, so she is working on the speed, we saw her in

:34:31.:34:37.

the 4x100 relay, and we're going to see her in the 200 semifinal

:34:38.:34:41.

tonight, and I think she is trying to work on the easy speed that you

:34:42.:34:48.

need as a sprinter. And she is not with her old coach anymore, and now

:34:49.:34:52.

she is at college, the training is different, different coach,

:34:53.:34:54.

different training, different emphasis, focus more on the shorter

:34:55.:34:58.

events, because you have got the long ones wrapped up. We are going

:34:59.:35:03.

to see Katie Ledecky again, and the mighty Adam Peaty is going in the 50

:35:04.:35:08.

metres breaststroke finals later, but let's just relive what happened

:35:09.:35:11.

last night when he took the world title in the 100 metres

:35:12.:35:12.

breaststroke. COMMENTATOR: Good, clean starred in

:35:13.:35:26.

this final of the men's 100 metres breaststroke, decent start from Adam

:35:27.:35:31.

Peaty, the defending world champion, he set a world record and he said he

:35:32.:35:41.

would go out pretty quick, he may break the 50 metres record. He is

:35:42.:35:48.

already a class above, and in 26.5, just off the individual world record

:35:49.:35:54.

but under 100 metres world record pace, but he has not lost Kevin

:35:55.:35:57.

Cordes at this stage, it could be about winning gold and the world

:35:58.:36:03.

record. The power coming for Adam Peaty, look at it go away from the

:36:04.:36:07.

rest of the world, this is the greatest field in the world at 100

:36:08.:36:11.

metres breaststroke, and there is clear water between Adam Peaty and

:36:12.:36:17.

the rest of the world. The world record is 57.13, just outside, but

:36:18.:36:20.

good as me, the margin of victory was phenomenal, it is a sprint, Adam

:36:21.:36:27.

Peaty has destroyed the best in the world, absolutely obliterated them.

:36:28.:36:33.

STUDIO: Huge congratulations to Adam Peaty, we will see in action in the

:36:34.:36:37.

semifinals this evening. The medal ceremony for the two were good

:36:38.:36:41.

metres freestyle is going on the eye and us, the goals taken by Sun Yang.

:36:42.:36:50.

-- is going on behind us comedy gold taken by Sun Yang. No place on the

:36:51.:36:57.

podium for Duncan Scott or James Guy. Let's carry on talking about

:36:58.:37:02.

Adam Peaty, in terms of his times and what he has done in the last

:37:03.:37:07.

couple of years, let's remember he is only 22, he really is ripping up

:37:08.:37:09.

the history books. Across 50 metres as well as the 100

:37:10.:37:19.

metres, he has got Project 56 in the back of his mind, but now it is

:37:20.:37:23.

Project 25, whether he can break that world record! He wasn't even

:37:24.:37:30.

trying this morning, so it is going to be fascinating to say Cameron van

:37:31.:37:34.

der Burgh coming, see how fast he is going, because he pulled out of the

:37:35.:37:38.

100 metres to focus on this. I am interested to see how much he wants

:37:39.:37:47.

to challenge Adam. It is a couple in to add, let's look at the best ever

:37:48.:37:51.

times and see who has got every single one!

:37:52.:37:54.

-- it is a compliment to Adam. He talks a lot about legacy and

:37:55.:38:06.

responsibility, what kind of confidence will and give him? The

:38:07.:38:09.

bottom line is that line is only going to get longer, 58.3 will

:38:10.:38:16.

probably turn into 57.3, because he is improving so much, and not just

:38:17.:38:20.

because of how confident he is and how hard he drains, but they are

:38:21.:38:26.

constantly looking for improvement, and what inspires you when you are

:38:27.:38:31.

world champion, Olympic champion, world record holder, he wants to go

:38:32.:38:37.

faster. As a kid, as a child, every time you step on the block, you want

:38:38.:38:42.

to do a best time. I don't mean that it is childlike, but you have to

:38:43.:38:45.

have something to interest you, and he wants to rewrite the record

:38:46.:38:49.

books. He has taken breaststroke to a place it has never been before.

:38:50.:38:55.

Mel B described him as a lion that you have to keep putting meet in

:38:56.:38:56.

front of. Goodness me, Peaty wins the gold, oh

:38:57.:39:06.

yes, oh yes indeed! I know you don't like talking about

:39:07.:39:17.

defending titles. Nothing to defend, it is all up for grabs. For me,

:39:18.:39:28.

going to Kazan, I was not defending anything, I was attacking. Defending

:39:29.:39:31.

just seems a little bit relaxed, whereas attacking, you are attacking

:39:32.:39:37.

your times, attacking your world records. It seems a little bit more

:39:38.:39:40.

aggressive, that is what is going to push me on in the pool every day.

:39:41.:39:45.

Do you feel like a leader in this team? Yeah, 100%, especially after

:39:46.:39:55.

the Olympics, I didn't know about that, the team has never been as

:39:56.:40:00.

strong and had so much cohesion, we are here and there for each other.

:40:01.:40:05.

Olympic champion, gold medal, Adam Peaty of Great Britain. I have

:40:06.:40:11.

achieved my lifetime dream, but I want more, a lot of people would be

:40:12.:40:15.

happy with Olympic gold, but I am not happy with that, I am happy that

:40:16.:40:20.

I have got it, but I want more, to leave a legacy, break the world

:40:21.:40:25.

record again, and I want to get to where no-one has been before. It is

:40:26.:40:31.

going to take a very fast time, I think.

:40:32.:40:36.

For me, his body language is really interesting after the heats this

:40:37.:40:40.

morning, he was a little bit surprised, he said, I had loads more

:40:41.:40:44.

in the tank, I didn't mean to do that, whereas normally he is very

:40:45.:40:48.

focused, you know when he will break the world record. You do, but when

:40:49.:40:54.

he spoke to Sharron after this morning, he said, you cannot rush

:40:55.:40:58.

breaststroke, and sprinting in general, like with Ben, over 50

:40:59.:41:03.

metres, you cannot rush it. His weakness is his start, the other

:41:04.:41:07.

guys are very strong there, but he takes off and is just so natural, so

:41:08.:41:13.

easy, so powerful, you can see the power from above. It is incredible

:41:14.:41:18.

to watch. His start and is finish this morning, when he broke that

:41:19.:41:23.

world record, went his best. So how fast can he go if he gets it right?

:41:24.:41:28.

Talking about whether he could do the perfect race, if you get every

:41:29.:41:33.

element right, there is 0.1 at the start and 0.1 at the finish, and

:41:34.:41:39.

everyone always, a swimmer will tell you that you always get faster in

:41:40.:41:43.

the evening, no matter what it is, you are more awake, and you do more

:41:44.:41:48.

of your fast training in the evenings. So your body is ready. So

:41:49.:41:52.

expect in not just to get every element right but the fact that he

:41:53.:41:57.

is more awake. Steeve Barry was beside himself, so let's see how

:41:58.:41:59.

hyper he gets for the semifinals. Great Britain's Adam Peaty is in the

:42:00.:42:17.

second semifinal, and only one other man has got a fastest time, Cameron

:42:18.:42:23.

van der Burgh. This young man, 28 years of age! You don't often see

:42:24.:42:28.

swimmers at 28 swimming personal bests, but he swam a lifetime best

:42:29.:42:32.

in the heats to make this semifinal. He won a world champion silver medal

:42:33.:42:43.

six years ago. Cordes, silver in the 100s, bronze two years ago in the

:42:44.:42:47.

50. All he needs to do is make the final. Ears on a different planet,

:42:48.:42:56.

Peaty, plan and breaststroke, and he lives there all by himself. -- he is

:42:57.:43:06.

on a different planet, Peaty, planet breaststroke. He was saying, I can

:43:07.:43:13.

see your 26.5, how do you like 26.1?! It was utterly ridiculous.

:43:14.:43:17.

But fair play to Cameron van der Burgh, he has won medals at this

:43:18.:43:24.

event five times, and he pulled out of the 100 to concentrate on this,

:43:25.:43:27.

and Adam Peaty is still smashing him, I cannot get my head around it.

:43:28.:43:34.

Probably the right decision, pulling out of the 100, I am not sure he is

:43:35.:43:38.

fit enough to go three rounds of both of them, but this 50, I would

:43:39.:43:44.

have thought that 26.5 would have been a cracking chance for gold. But

:43:45.:43:49.

when somebody goes 26.1, goodness me! Bundaberg in four for South

:43:50.:44:08.

Africa. -- Van der Burgh. Skills only on the left-hand side, the

:44:09.:44:16.

28-year-old Italian. -- Scottzoli. Also going well in three is Lima of

:44:17.:44:21.

Brazil. It looks like he will get it on the touch, yes, 26.6. Van der

:44:22.:44:28.

Burgh second, two tends slower than in the heats this morning. Third was

:44:29.:44:34.

called airs, and all was Scottzoli. So only four under 27, a little bit

:44:35.:44:43.

surprising? They were all up for it this morning, and that is a big

:44:44.:44:48.

shock for me, Van der Burgh, 26.5 this morning, I think he has had the

:44:49.:44:52.

stuffing knocked out of him. He has seen Adam Peaty swim and thought, I

:44:53.:44:58.

cannot get close to that kid. The veteran started well in the middle,

:44:59.:45:01.

but he didn't have his natural finish at the end. I just think Van

:45:02.:45:06.

der Burgh, the race is gone for him, and he will struggle to get in the

:45:07.:45:11.

medals. You know that he cannot beat Peaty, and that is what he wanted to

:45:12.:45:16.

do, win gold. That is what 50 breaststroke should look like,

:45:17.:45:19.

everyone finishing together, but in a minute we will say Adam Peaty a

:45:20.:45:23.

body length add, that is how much better he is. Cameron van der Burgh

:45:24.:45:30.

jammed the finish, so that led to this guy, Lima, winning.

:45:31.:45:35.

In normal circumstances, a very quick semifinal but after this

:45:36.:45:41.

morning, a little bit pedestrian. Felipe Lima wins it. Kevin Cordes,

:45:42.:45:51.

third. And the second semifinal and a new superstar, Adam Peaty, 26.1. A

:45:52.:45:56.

broke his own world record by over three tenths of a second this

:45:57.:45:59.

morning with an average start and a very average finish. Yet, you know

:46:00.:46:06.

what, it did appear to be average. He glided into his finish but I

:46:07.:46:12.

think we can give them a break on the start because, although it's a

:46:13.:46:18.

weakness, his strength outweighs it. Is swimming speed is absolutely

:46:19.:46:22.

phenomenal. What you will see is a lot of the guys touring the 50,

:46:23.:46:28.

starting to slow down, they can't keep up their velocity whereas he

:46:29.:46:32.

does not slow down for the whole 50 so where it looks like he is pulling

:46:33.:46:36.

away, is actually not, here's just keeping up the same speed from start

:46:37.:46:44.

to finish. There is the 17-year-old from Italy, the world junior record

:46:45.:46:48.

holder of the 100 metres breaststroke. This guy did really

:46:49.:47:00.

well on the 100 metres breast oak. From the outside, the Russians

:47:01.:47:07.

having a good week so far here. The big thing for me, in the freestyle

:47:08.:47:16.

gold. Gomes Junior, the 31-year-old. He's never won a major medal but

:47:17.:47:22.

Adam Peaty, what can you do? He's already won the gold on the

:47:23.:47:26.

breaststroke and set the world-record this, the 50. I think

:47:27.:47:35.

my head will blow off if he goes 25 because that is a butterfly time. I

:47:36.:47:39.

think you may have struggled to grow 25 a few times but maybe you can

:47:40.:47:43.

tell us about that a bit later but we want to see him and not rushing

:47:44.:47:47.

the first couple of strokes. He wants to make sure he is grabbing

:47:48.:47:51.

the water. He's thinking about that at the moment, an absolute beast,

:47:52.:47:56.

isn't he, but he's got the mindset to match it. We want 90% effort from

:47:57.:48:03.

Adam Peaty, 100% speed. Can he go 25? Here's prowling around at the

:48:04.:48:19.

start. A big lion cat to -- tap to. -- tap to. That's a very good start

:48:20.:48:31.

from Prigoda on the right-hand side there. He's looking very strong

:48:32.:48:40.

indeed. Looking well as Gomes from Brazil. Adam Peaty starting to

:48:41.:48:47.

streak ahead. Look at this. 26.10 is the world-record. 25.95! There goes

:48:48.:48:58.

Project 25. Oh my goodness me! I never thought I would see the day

:48:59.:49:06.

when a breast stroke swimmer would do that. That is phenomenal! He

:49:07.:49:11.

can't believe it and I can't believe it. In my life, I have never seen

:49:12.:49:17.

swimming like that. This is not only good for breaststroke but butterfly

:49:18.:49:23.

as well. 25 is a butterfly time. This kid is absolutely unbelievable.

:49:24.:49:29.

Does he know any boundaries whatsoever? I don't think he does.

:49:30.:49:36.

Still only 22. We are going to be critical. If there is an area he can

:49:37.:49:44.

improve it is the start. As you said, he gives so much. This is 50

:49:45.:49:52.

metres, and he won that by nine tenths. He's almost got clear water

:49:53.:49:55.

between him and the rest of the field on 50. He's almost taken a

:49:56.:50:01.

second out of everybody else, over a 50-metre --. I don't think you can

:50:02.:50:10.

believe it himself. It's not about gold medals for him any more, but

:50:11.:50:14.

about how much he can move on the sport. He was behind and it's

:50:15.:50:20.

impossible to be critical at this stage but their skill of the dive is

:50:21.:50:24.

something he could still improve on but we've never seen swimming speeds

:50:25.:50:30.

like this on breaststroke before. He got his whole margin of victory in

:50:31.:50:35.

the last 50 metres. Confirmation of the most extraordinary result,

:50:36.:50:42.

semifinal two. He wins the world-record, 25.95. He's talking to

:50:43.:50:44.

Sharron Davies. Yes, Andy, he's talking to me. How

:50:45.:50:57.

are you feeling because it's almost like you can't believe it? Honestly,

:50:58.:51:04.

this morning I knew it was going to be hard to beat that. Coming out

:51:05.:51:08.

tonight, I was a bit down because it's been such an emotional last few

:51:09.:51:14.

days. I'm not going to waste an opportunity because I don't know if

:51:15.:51:18.

it will be my last, I said. I just went out there and did what I do. I

:51:19.:51:24.

can't see this being your last. You are just improving and growing in

:51:25.:51:28.

confidence all the time. What are you doing to produce these fantastic

:51:29.:51:33.

races? I don't know, day in, day out, hard work. January, full-time,

:51:34.:51:41.

since then we have set up a culture I am proud of. In three or four

:51:42.:51:46.

years' time, we will have some strong young ones coming through.

:51:47.:51:49.

Hopefully improving British swimming but it's looking very good. Are you

:51:50.:51:55.

doing what in the gym because you are more cut than many swimmers and

:51:56.:52:00.

that is gymnasium based, isn't it? Yes, I can't believe it. A lot of

:52:01.:52:08.

hard work has gone into the gym now. I've lost my older gym coach

:52:09.:52:11.

unfortunately but he's doing great in new career now but hopefully I

:52:12.:52:21.

can improve. At fantastic swim, Adam, congratulations. See you

:52:22.:52:28.

tomorrow. Thank you very much. That sums up Adam Peaty, two world-record

:52:29.:52:34.

on Monday. He just said hopefully he can go further. He is unstoppable,

:52:35.:52:38.

and unbelievable machine. Let's look at that racer game. Put into context

:52:39.:52:43.

what he has just done. He shocked himself. Is the first time I've seen

:52:44.:52:50.

him genuinely shocked at what has just happened. What a great reaction

:52:51.:52:54.

but his start was better than this morning. He still has room to

:52:55.:53:00.

improve. He just built through it. Like Mark said early on, you do swim

:53:01.:53:06.

faster in the evening. He have that mentality. He saw the guys in the

:53:07.:53:09.

first heat and he was not going to lose that for a second, was he? We

:53:10.:53:15.

will talk about Adam Peaty in the next couple of days and rightly so

:53:16.:53:19.

because he's a machine. No doubt we will see him on top of that podium.

:53:20.:53:27.

A fist pump in the air. Let's go to the Women's 100m Backstroke

:53:28.:53:30.

featuring Britain's Kathleen Dawson. Kylie Jacqueline Masse, the fastest

:53:31.:53:46.

qualifier for this final, in Lane four. Deliberate silver medallist,

:53:47.:53:57.

Kathleen Baker from the USA and Olivia Smoliga from Australia, the

:53:58.:54:02.

yellow Hat. The world-record must be under threat, Gemma Spofforth's

:54:03.:54:13.

world-record. The final of the Women's 100m Backstroke. The

:54:14.:54:14.

favourite in the centre. Kylie Jacqueline Masse from Canada with

:54:15.:54:23.

the white hat. A black hat, Kathleen Baker from the USA. And Olivia

:54:24.:54:26.

Smoliga in the yellow Hat from Australia. She did come back strong

:54:27.:54:33.

on the 750 but Kathleen Baker, an Olympic medallist, won't let this

:54:34.:54:38.

one go likely. Of course, Emily Seebohm, the reigning world Champion

:54:39.:54:44.

one down from her. They are under the pace by half a second. Three are

:54:45.:54:52.

in with a shout here. That would be fantastic. Kathleen Dawson in fifth.

:54:53.:54:54.

On the left-hand side of the shot, closer to us, but the race in the

:54:55.:55:01.

centre, the white hat of Kylie Jacqueline Masse and the yellow hat

:55:02.:55:06.

of Emily Seebohm. The world-record belongs to Gemma Spofforth. 58.10.

:55:07.:55:14.

Just under. A new world record for Kylie Jacqueline Masse from Canada.

:55:15.:55:20.

The silver to Kathleen Baker from the USA and the bronze goes to

:55:21.:55:28.

Australia's Emily Seebohm. What a wonderful swim and so fast. Held it

:55:29.:55:35.

really well. The 80-year-old world-record set by Gemma Spofforth

:55:36.:55:43.

in 2009 in Rome has just gone. Kylie Jacqueline Masse, world champion.

:55:44.:55:47.

New world-record holder. She is known on the team for not letting

:55:48.:55:54.

the occasion get to her, for being able to shut out all expectations.

:55:55.:56:01.

She's a young woman but is doing it all. A World Championship gold medal

:56:02.:56:05.

as well. Her competitors got the better of her on the start but some

:56:06.:56:10.

work for her to do here but it was these last 50 metres where she was

:56:11.:56:14.

able to come through and put the hammer down and her finish,

:56:15.:56:19.

absolutely fantastic. Look at that picture perfect finish and that's

:56:20.:56:22.

what got her the world-record and where those seconds came from from

:56:23.:56:27.

last night. A big win from Canada. They have not been good this week.

:56:28.:56:33.

She was third with 25 metres to go. Clapping the new world-record for

:56:34.:56:40.

the Women's 100m Backstroke. She can't believe it. Taking in the

:56:41.:56:46.

plaudits. There were high expectations on her this week. She

:56:47.:56:50.

swam well all year. She was top three times this year and this young

:56:51.:56:53.

Canadian team, so much expected of them on the way in. Kylie Jacqueline

:56:54.:57:05.

Masse. A new world-record holder in the Women's 100m Backstroke, from

:57:06.:57:12.

Canada. Kathleen Baker, silver, and Emily Seebohm, the bronze.

:57:13.:57:17.

Huge congratulations to Kylie Jacqueline Masse but a shame for

:57:18.:57:24.

Britain because it was a British world-record which is for so long.

:57:25.:57:30.

Credit to Gemma because it was a fantastic swim at the time but it's

:57:31.:57:33.

good to see world-record go because it shows it's moving on. It's a

:57:34.:57:37.

shame for Kathleen Dawson who came eighth and did not get near her

:57:38.:57:41.

personal best. She went out too fast. It was all about the middle

:57:42.:57:49.

three lanes. For Kathleen, it's just experience. She dropped 1.5 seconds

:57:50.:57:58.

on the second but that will recover. We talk about doing your own race

:57:59.:58:02.

and that's what Kylie did in the middle there. She stuck to her own

:58:03.:58:05.

race plan which was to come back the last 25 metres and then she won the

:58:06.:58:10.

race. Let's hear from Kathleen because she's talking to Sharron

:58:11.:58:11.

Davies. A big step up for you, great

:58:12.:58:20.

experience on the way to Tokyo for you. I'm just taking each race as it

:58:21.:58:24.

comes and I'm loving it. What have you been able to take from this.

:58:25.:58:31.

Your dad is doing interviews next door, a fantastic example for the

:58:32.:58:36.

team. I know. Just to be here and experience it. It's a step up from

:58:37.:58:43.

Europeans such as those for them it's been amazing. I'm completely in

:58:44.:58:48.

awe of everything. I can't stop smiling I've had such a great time.

:58:49.:58:53.

Well done for that. I'm sure it's great experience for you. Thank you.

:58:54.:58:59.

Left not forget last day was quite frustrating for her. She didn't do

:59:00.:59:03.

the time she needed it trials but she would have been thinking I could

:59:04.:59:07.

have done Rio. Yes, of course, that was on the back of her mind and for

:59:08.:59:10.

the European Championships getting that bronze medal was a huge

:59:11.:59:13.

experience for her and she is one of the Tokyo athlete we should be

:59:14.:59:17.

looking out for. One of those athletes we can't stop looking at is

:59:18.:59:24.

Katie Ledecky was about to get her 12th World Championship gold medal

:59:25.:59:29.

because she of course took the Women's 1500m Freestyle in

:59:30.:59:32.

phenomenal form. We will look at her schedule because as it goes, she is

:59:33.:59:39.

one busy, busy lady. In terms of what she has taken on this week, it

:59:40.:59:44.

is 60 lengths of her normal swimming pool to get to the 1500. Add to

:59:45.:59:50.

that, the rest of the week, how hectic is that? If she does not swim

:59:51.:59:55.

at the heats, it is 6300 metres and that's just racing, not swim downs

:59:56.:00:01.

and everything else on top of that so it is a huge schedule for her.

:00:02.:00:09.

This is what we find every time at Hungarian athlete comes out, this

:00:10.:00:14.

place goes absolutely ballistic. I did not share a word you said. All

:00:15.:00:24.

we can hear is Hungary, Hungary. They are proud swimming nation. So

:00:25.:00:30.

why don't they have a bit of a celebration? Who can blame them? We

:00:31.:00:35.

have a busy schedule and next on BBC Two, the final of the Agarwal, Katie

:00:36.:00:41.

Ledecky again, she does not get time to enjoy her moment on the podium

:00:42.:00:44.

because she has got to get her tracksuit off and get back in the

:00:45.:00:49.

pool. She will go in the first semifinal of the 200 metres

:00:50.:00:53.

freestyle. At 6pm, if you want to stay with live swimming action,

:00:54.:01:00.

press your red button to see the Men's 200m Butterfly semifinals. No

:01:01.:01:03.

Michael Phelps so who will pinch his crown? You would get your Hungary,

:01:04.:01:12.

Hungary. You can join in. We will then go to go crazy for Sarah Vasey.

:01:13.:01:22.

She goes in the Women's 100m Breast Stroke. We have talked a lot about

:01:23.:01:26.

Katie Ledecky, but now let's talk about a Swedish swimming superstar.

:01:27.:01:31.

I managed that. She has been talking to us.

:01:32.:01:46.

Sarah Sjoestroem, gold again, Sarah Sjoestroem of Sweden gets the gold.

:01:47.:01:57.

Am really happy with it so far. Working more on your freestyle than

:01:58.:02:05.

butterfly at the moment? I decided to work more on my technique to

:02:06.:02:09.

become a better sprinter, 100 free, and it worked out pretty well. You

:02:10.:02:18.

started very young. Eight years ago I took my first gold medal in the

:02:19.:02:21.

World Championships, so yesterday was my fourth gold medal in the 100

:02:22.:02:26.

fly, which I am very happy about. What keeps you sow inspired? I love

:02:27.:02:33.

being an athlete, it is more fun now than it was when I was 15, I am

:02:34.:02:37.

enjoying being a swimmer more than ever at the moment, and I am doing

:02:38.:02:44.

really well, but I outside competing, all these things that I

:02:45.:02:51.

really enjoy. Often in track and field, people go up distances, but

:02:52.:02:54.

in swimming you go down the distance. Yeah, because in swimming

:02:55.:02:59.

we have to train so much more than track and field, we train for two

:03:00.:03:08.

hours but only swim for 25 seconds! More world records to come this

:03:09.:03:13.

week? I have been very close many times in the 50 freestyle, like we

:03:14.:03:18.

saw on the first day of the meet, I was very fast in the 100 free, so if

:03:19.:03:24.

I do a fast start, I am sure I can be close to the world record, I will

:03:25.:03:32.

see. STUDIO: She has got a busy week

:03:33.:03:38.

dared, she has got the 100 metres freestyle heats on Thursday, back in

:03:39.:03:43.

the pool on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, talk us through what we can

:03:44.:03:47.

expect to see from her this week. Don't be fooled by the fifth in the

:03:48.:03:53.

relay, I think we will see gold, gold, gold, apart from the medley

:03:54.:03:58.

relay, I think she will win four, and I would not be surprised if she

:03:59.:04:04.

breaks the 50 free world record. She is focusing more on her freestyle

:04:05.:04:10.

technique, she trains in Sweden with a guy who used to train the Olympic

:04:11.:04:15.

silver medallist in 50 freestyle, so she is focusing more on freestyle.

:04:16.:04:21.

Being around as printers and being in that environment means she will

:04:22.:04:26.

get faster. -- being around sprinters. There is an elite group

:04:27.:04:35.

training in Turkey at the moment. There is a professional programme

:04:36.:04:38.

where lots of different people from around Europe, and train in one

:04:39.:04:42.

place, and they are paid to swim in that place. It is becoming

:04:43.:04:46.

professional in that sense, a bit like footballers, but they are not

:04:47.:04:49.

paid the same amount of money, they are paid to swim for a particular

:04:50.:04:56.

club and company. Is it a shame for British swimming? It is a shame that

:04:57.:05:01.

Gibson is training over there, he was our sprint coach out until last

:05:02.:05:06.

year, I would like to see another space made available for him in the

:05:07.:05:09.

UK to have a sprint programme in the UK. Whether there was not space for

:05:10.:05:14.

him, I don't know, but when you have got somebody with that knowledge, we

:05:15.:05:25.

should be having sprinters in the programme in our country. Back to

:05:26.:05:33.

Sarah, you mentioned the relay, she set a world record, she took her

:05:34.:05:38.

first world title in 2009, and there is no sign of her dominance leading

:05:39.:05:43.

up. She openly speaks about the fact that she wants to continue, and most

:05:44.:05:47.

athletes are saying, yeah, I will go to the next Olympics, but she wants

:05:48.:05:54.

to be in the sport another ten or 12 years possibly, and she definitely

:05:55.:05:56.

has the capability of doing that. This was her last night in flight,

:05:57.:06:06.

what is it that is so good about her technique? When it comes to

:06:07.:06:11.

technique in butterfly, well, butterfly and breaststroke in

:06:12.:06:14.

particular, it is all down to timing, how much water you can hold

:06:15.:06:21.

but the timing element. She just gets it perfect, and when you get

:06:22.:06:24.

the perfect motion, you get so much more of a shoot forward, but she is

:06:25.:06:30.

also stronger than everybody else. Next up, the men's 100 metres

:06:31.:06:35.

backstroke final, we talked a lot about Chris Walker-Hebborn, we are

:06:36.:06:38.

hoping we will see him in the relays later in the week, fingers crossed

:06:39.:06:44.

he will be fighting fit and on form, but now over to Andy and Steve to

:06:45.:06:50.

take us through the men's 100 metres backstroke final.

:06:51.:06:58.

COMMENTATOR: And what a line-up it is, the Olympic champion in five,

:06:59.:07:01.

the world record holder is not the favourite. The Olympic champion in

:07:02.:07:07.

2012, Grevers, number three. The defending world champion, Mitchell

:07:08.:07:13.

Larkin, is not the favourite. It is Xu of China in four. Quite

:07:14.:07:19.

extraordinary, Xu of China, the world record-holder is held by the

:07:20.:07:26.

man in lane five, Xu has 51.86 this year. For me, Andy, we have a battle

:07:27.:07:32.

between the technicians and the power boys, and this is one of the

:07:33.:07:39.

power colours, Matt Grevers, the Olympic champion in 2012, an

:07:40.:07:42.

absolute monster of a human being, six foot six, weighing in at 15

:07:43.:07:50.

stone, he is huge, but this is the current Olympic champion, also world

:07:51.:07:53.

record, Ryan Murphy, very casual there! I have never seen a guy

:07:54.:07:59.

coming out with his hands in his pockets before he comes out to race.

:08:00.:08:06.

And here is another technician, Xu, 0.01 off the world record earlier

:08:07.:08:10.

this year at the Chinese trials, and he absolutely shuts down yesterday.

:08:11.:08:15.

He only swam to about 60 metres and then turned the afterburner is on

:08:16.:08:18.

and coasted in and still the fastest qualifier. The very confidence that

:08:19.:08:23.

this guy is going to tear these other fellas apart, but just watch,

:08:24.:08:29.

for any age group swimmers, what a beautiful technique that Xu has got,

:08:30.:08:32.

and here we go in lane six. There is the defending world

:08:33.:08:45.

champion, Mitchell Larkin, there is Irie of Japan in lane six. The quick

:08:46.:08:51.

guys are in three, four, five and seven. Grevers, Xu, Murphy and

:08:52.:09:00.

Larkin. Where do the medals go? I think we are going to see a changing

:09:01.:09:04.

of the guard, America has been dominant for so many years in 100

:09:05.:09:09.

metres backstroke. I feel like the dominance is going to switch to

:09:10.:09:13.

Asia, Xu just looks in superb form to me. But it is all going to be

:09:14.:09:18.

about the start, they have got to get away.

:09:19.:09:32.

That was interesting, Irie very slow up in six, what a fantastic start,

:09:33.:09:44.

though, from Xu of China, that is amazing. Normally Ryan Murphy is a

:09:45.:09:47.

super starter, but Xu killed him on the start. Very rare you see the

:09:48.:09:52.

Americans being beaten on the start, and this is not the best part of

:09:53.:09:58.

Xu's race, that is still to come. He has turned well, 0.01 and a world

:09:59.:10:03.

record pace, Ryan Murphy, not only is he going to lose, but he might

:10:04.:10:07.

see his world record go down. This is where Xu gets strong, 25 metres

:10:08.:10:14.

to go, but Matt Grevers and Ryan Murphy are saying no! Definitely not

:10:15.:10:19.

over here, Murphy is one lane closed to us than Xu in the yellow hat in

:10:20.:10:25.

the centre, Grevers in three, Murphy in five, but it is Xu, Xu is the

:10:26.:10:33.

world champion, 52.4 or from Matt Grevers of the USA. Grevers gets the

:10:34.:10:38.

silver, the bronze goes to Murphy of the USA. Xu of China takes gold, a

:10:39.:10:42.

little bit slower than I thought, I have to say. What a race that was,

:10:43.:10:50.

though. Xu won it at the start. It looked so easy yesterday, I cannot

:10:51.:10:55.

believe he has only got 52.44, exactly the same time as he went

:10:56.:11:00.

yesterday. But he swam it so differently, really went out as hard

:11:01.:11:04.

as he could, didn't seem to have it on the back end, but there is a

:11:05.:11:08.

reason the Americans are both Olympic champions, and that is

:11:09.:11:11.

because they do not quit. They didn't want to concede that title,

:11:12.:11:16.

but look what it means to Xu there. His start was amazing, Andy, I think

:11:17.:11:22.

five might have gone a little bit earlier, but the result has been

:11:23.:11:25.

confirmed, no challenge. But to be beating the Americans to 50, highly

:11:26.:11:32.

and usual. Just look at that stroke, though, Andy, really fantastic

:11:33.:11:34.

rotation, beautifully still head position. Confidence down the first

:11:35.:11:40.

50, he actually ended up losing by a smaller margin. He must have had his

:11:41.:11:47.

heart in his mouth with five metres to go, in absolute agony, but only

:11:48.:11:51.

thinking about spotting the finish, and that is what he did, and touched

:11:52.:11:58.

Grevers. That is not easy to do, six foot six Grevers is a monster! But

:11:59.:12:02.

Xu is the new world champion of the 100 metres men's backstroke after

:12:03.:12:13.

silver in Rio. I have to say, that time, 52.4, a fascinating results.

:12:14.:12:18.

We have talked an awful lot at these games about technique, the amount of

:12:19.:12:26.

technique that swimmers are doing in training now, much more so than in

:12:27.:12:29.

the past. We doing enough in Great Britain, I wonder? So the result of

:12:30.:12:36.

the men's 100 metres backstroke, Xu wins gold for China, great gold for

:12:37.:12:41.

them. Silver and bronze go to the USA, the last two Olympic champions.

:12:42.:12:47.

We got a bit excited, we thought we might see another world record

:12:48.:12:52.

toppled. It was slower than the semifinals, surprisingly, but a

:12:53.:12:56.

fantastic race, we were on the edge of our seats, we had no clue who was

:12:57.:13:01.

going to take that. Let's look at the start again, you noticed

:13:02.:13:07.

something, Mark. The first 25 metres is where Xu won the race, and we are

:13:08.:13:12.

used to the Americans being best on the first length, there he is in the

:13:13.:13:17.

top of the yellow lanes, and he was a good good ahead of the others, and

:13:18.:13:20.

you never see the Americans coming behind. That is not normally the way

:13:21.:13:26.

he runs a race, he normally comes from the back, so surprise into see

:13:27.:13:30.

him do that. Earlier in the year, the only missed the world record by

:13:31.:13:35.

0.01, so you thought he was going to take it down, but he got a little

:13:36.:13:41.

bit tight towards the end here. Incredible to see Grevers comeback,

:13:42.:13:44.

he has had a challenging year, should you say? Not making Rio and

:13:45.:13:51.

things. He is six foot eight! You just think, he is huge, you think

:13:52.:13:55.

his arms oh so long he would be able to get to the wall first anyway. It

:13:56.:14:02.

was just an incredible race, one that was slightly disappointing

:14:03.:14:08.

timewise, I am not going to lie. As a race goes, what a great race, so

:14:09.:14:13.

tight towards the end, we have seen Adam Peaty destroy people, which we

:14:14.:14:20.

love, but that was cat and mouse. Adam Peaty has boiled us, hasn't

:14:21.:14:26.

he?! Talking of Ledecky, she is back in the pool once again, time for the

:14:27.:14:29.

women's 200 metres freestyle semifinal. And the first semifinal

:14:30.:14:40.

this is, absolutely stacked, Leah Smith and Emma McKeon both very

:14:41.:14:45.

quick, but Katie Ledecky, the most successful female swimmer in World

:14:46.:14:48.

Championship history, goes in four for the USA. Katerine Savard of

:14:49.:14:57.

Canada, Canada have not had the greatest meet so far, but China

:14:58.:15:05.

having a very good meet. The bronze in the fourth of metres freestyle

:15:06.:15:11.

was a big surprise. And if the Chinese are having a good meet,

:15:12.:15:16.

France are not. We have hardly seen anything from France, over the last

:15:17.:15:19.

few World Championships they have dominated, but this is one of the

:15:20.:15:22.

first French contenders I can remember. They have had glum faces

:15:23.:15:28.

all week! We have a plenty to smile about, I am OK with that!

:15:29.:15:33.

This is quite a field. It was gold in the 400 metres to Katie Ledecky,

:15:34.:15:43.

silver to Smith and bronze to Li of China. McKeon swam the 100 final.

:15:44.:15:53.

This is going to be quite an interesting race. I think it's going

:15:54.:16:00.

to be very fast indeed. She has swum the Women's 1500m Freestyle already,

:16:01.:16:04.

just outside her world-record, the defending champion, but if there is

:16:05.:16:07.

one she is in danger of losing, Steve, could it be this one? For

:16:08.:16:13.

sure, this is a her weakest event. If you could call it that. The older

:16:14.:16:19.

she gets, I know she is only 20, but the turnaround she has to do in

:16:20.:16:22.

these World Championships is ridiculously tough. She was in the

:16:23.:16:29.

water no more than an hour ago swimming 30 lengths. She's had to

:16:30.:16:32.

put her tracksuit back on, get her medal and now get ready to do this.

:16:33.:16:40.

A great PB from McKeon by one second early in the week. Can she transfer

:16:41.:16:46.

her form to her 200 metre freestyle? If she does, she will give Katie

:16:47.:16:52.

Ledecky a scare. The first semifinal of the 200 metres freestyle. Katie

:16:53.:17:01.

Ledecky in fourth for the USA. She has been outstanding, Katie Ledecky.

:17:02.:17:06.

May be the first time we've seen something relatively average. She is

:17:07.:17:09.

working really hard down the first 25 metres. The Black hat in the

:17:10.:17:15.

centre, third or fourth at the moment. She has got to be tired. She

:17:16.:17:23.

is not Superwoman. She has got to work here. She's got to make sure

:17:24.:17:26.

she gets flew to the final tonight in one of the centre lanes. Emma

:17:27.:17:34.

McKeon fancies this. An incredible world-record set by Federico

:17:35.:17:42.

Pellegrini in Rome in 2009. I think she will pay for this. She is, of

:17:43.:17:49.

course, having Katie Ledecky behind her. She already looks to me like

:17:50.:17:54.

she might be starting to tire. Well, in Lane number five, McKeon in

:17:55.:18:03.

Australia, turning first. They do have a team, France, but the French

:18:04.:18:10.

swimmers are in short supply at the moment. Katie Ledecky now starting

:18:11.:18:13.

to move. Viewed said she did 30 lengths in the pool freestyle and

:18:14.:18:19.

won the gold medal and then did another 30 just to swim down and she

:18:20.:18:24.

is now starting to move and get into her rib. She is looking really

:18:25.:18:30.

strong, just taking the lead, second behind McKeon. She's an Olympic

:18:31.:18:35.

medallist but it looks like she is starting to tire. She may get second

:18:36.:18:42.

but I think she's doing what she has to do. Her legs are starting to kick

:18:43.:18:49.

to get her home. The pain she going through now must be extraordinary.

:18:50.:18:54.

She the Women's 1500m Freestyle and she is digging in. That is tough.

:18:55.:19:02.

After a freestyler 15 minutes 30. That is just amazing. She is

:19:03.:19:06.

superhuman. She is going for the double quadruple. She won them all

:19:07.:19:13.

at the World Championships two years ago and has already won the 400

:19:14.:19:18.

metres and the 1500 metres here. Are you going to take the 200 metres off

:19:19.:19:24.

her, Steve? Not on that form. What Adam Peaty is doing in the sprint

:19:25.:19:29.

events, she is matching in the women's in during freestyle. She's

:19:30.:19:33.

got the fastest time in the world this year after winning a 1500 metre

:19:34.:19:37.

freestyle. She won't have it all her own way because if anybody will

:19:38.:19:45.

pressure back it'll be the world record holder Frederica Pellegrini,

:19:46.:19:48.

who goes in the second semifinal. An absolute masterclass. She allowed

:19:49.:19:54.

McKeon to go out and just turned it on when she needed to. I didn't

:19:55.:19:59.

think we would see a date when a woman would dominate in all the

:20:00.:20:02.

races full stop I think she could do it again. It's extraordinary. Most

:20:03.:20:09.

local pools are 25 metres. Katie Ledecky, the first semifinal, very

:20:10.:20:16.

quick time. Very quick for those two. The second semifinal is fast.

:20:17.:20:27.

Here they are. Frederica Pellegrini goes in for. Her gold medal is on

:20:28.:20:42.

2009 and 2011. It is just phenomenal. Of course, she's opted

:20:43.:20:52.

not to do 200 metres freestyle and has a very tough sprint programme,

:20:53.:20:58.

but it leaves the door open. She got the silver medals in the Olympic

:20:59.:21:01.

Games, Sarah, but there's plenty of high quality swimmers here who could

:21:02.:21:09.

take this away. She's never got a major games medal here on the 200

:21:10.:21:14.

metres freestyle. She has stepped up, Garashi, in front of this home

:21:15.:21:18.

crowd and wants to bring home some more hardware. The crowd here I

:21:19.:21:25.

think is the loudest I've ever had, maybe only beaten by London 2012 at

:21:26.:21:34.

the Olympics. It's a very similar style, they go nuts for their

:21:35.:21:42.

players. Swimming the third fastest into the second semifinal after the

:21:43.:21:47.

heats. An Olympic semifinalist. Sheer she is.

:21:48.:21:51.

CROWD CHEERS Listen to that. You can hardly hear

:21:52.:21:59.

yourself think. Hosszu won the individual medley here and the crowd

:22:00.:22:03.

went absolutely bananas. Next to her, the greatest woman in history,

:22:04.:22:12.

Pellegrini, the world-record holder. 1:52.9. That's a crazy time, Andy.

:22:13.:22:21.

Alway back in 2009, eight years ago. She 28 years of age but she's been

:22:22.:22:30.

hit countless times, always here. It was set when those shiny suits were

:22:31.:22:34.

allowed which have now been banned. They've now gone back to text file

:22:35.:22:39.

suits and it's made a difference. It really did. -- text file suits. --

:22:40.:22:48.

textile suits. Katie Ledecky when the first

:22:49.:23:03.

semifinal. -- won the first semifinal. The second semifinal now.

:23:04.:23:17.

Pellegrini looked good on that start. Underwater maybe not quite as

:23:18.:23:27.

good. But very much in line. Hosszu in the centre may be getting the

:23:28.:23:31.

best start in the Red Hat. Hosszu using the full 15 butterfly legs all

:23:32.:23:38.

the way. Look at them they are. Nobody breaking away, six of them.

:23:39.:23:44.

The Hong Kong swimmer at the top there. Coleman got a personal best

:23:45.:23:51.

in Stockholm. She has the second fastest time in the world, so we

:23:52.:23:57.

might see a race here across the whole sum improve. Pellegrini has

:23:58.:24:01.

not settled here at all, Andy. Even from the start. -- the whole

:24:02.:24:07.

swimming pool. It's not happening at this stage. She does tend to go off

:24:08.:24:13.

slower and rented up about now. She's got some work to do simple to

:24:14.:24:17.

make sure she gets through to the final. It's just a semifinal. I

:24:18.:24:23.

would imagine 75 metres, up still looking around, Pellegrini, playing

:24:24.:24:30.

cat and mouse. Letting a lot of the other women doing a lot of the work.

:24:31.:24:34.

Hosszu in the white hat in the centre. Hosszu cannot win this,

:24:35.:24:41.

surely. I know she is tough as old boots, but it's not meant to be her

:24:42.:24:50.

event. Coleman and Ai also digging in at this stage. Pellegrini in the

:24:51.:24:54.

middle of the poll does not like Hosszu. She's on the record as

:24:55.:24:59.

saying that. She is showing her class in the last 15. This will be

:25:00.:25:04.

pretty tight. Pellegrini, tracking him now is Hosszu. Not bad. Hosszu

:25:05.:25:22.

second. She may well make the final. That will be something special.

:25:23.:25:29.

Katie Ledecky will go the fastest. A little bit of cat and mouse. A

:25:30.:25:36.

little bit slow down the first 100. They've got to be careful because

:25:37.:25:38.

the first semifinal was really strong. Katie Ledecky dragging

:25:39.:25:46.

everyone along. She's only going in fourth now, Pellegrini, so those

:25:47.:25:49.

guys were taking a chance. Pellegrini, right after blocks. That

:25:50.:25:56.

it was Hosszu who came up I had of her, really good butterfly legs

:25:57.:25:59.

underwater. Let's see what's going on with Hosszu on the turn of. Akiva

:26:00.:26:04.

is not spending any time on the wall. Maintaining that speed on the

:26:05.:26:11.

way out. Look at this finish. They've had some needle outside of

:26:12.:26:18.

the water, Hosszu and Pellegrini. It's important to get the hand on

:26:19.:26:21.

the wall and that's what Pellegrini do well. She fancies it, doesn't

:26:22.:26:29.

she, Hosszu? I think she gave a wry smile to Pellegrini. But Pellegrini

:26:30.:26:34.

is having none of it. Confirmation of the result of a second semifinal,

:26:35.:26:41.

Pellegrini wins it. The fastest three from the first semifinal will

:26:42.:26:46.

go into the final. Pellegrini will only be forth, I believe. Let's just

:26:47.:26:58.

check. Two Americans in the final. Pellegrini and Hosszu, fourth and

:26:59.:27:02.

fifth. A French swimmer in the final. That final tomorrow night

:27:03.:27:04.

will be pretty hectic. It's one of my most excited races,

:27:05.:27:13.

I'm not going to lie because the 200 metres is just so tight and close

:27:14.:27:16.

and I'm so excited to see who can get on the podium. The headline act

:27:17.:27:22.

for the Hungarians is clearly Hosszu but Adam Peaty in action tomorrow

:27:23.:27:27.

night. How excited are you? Extremely excited. It's whether he

:27:28.:27:30.

will break his own world record again. Complete dominance and a

:27:31.:27:35.

masterclass. The swimming coverage continues on the red button if you

:27:36.:27:39.

want to see the 100 beta breast stroke final and see Sarah Vasey in

:27:40.:27:44.

action. Press your red button in a minute. Tomorrow night from 4:30pm

:27:45.:27:49.

on BBC Two, Adam Peaty goes in the breaststroke final and don't forget

:27:50.:27:54.

to download the podcast from the BBC five live team. What a day for Adam

:27:55.:28:00.

Peaty. Two world-record in the bag. You can see him tomorrow night and

:28:01.:28:04.

join us if you can. Bye-bye.
