and Wolves on the opening weekend of the new season.

On Saturday, two of the Championship's newcomers

went head-to-head at the New York Stadium.

in midweek with Leeds win in the Capital One Cup.

well in the end. He defenders had to come to the rescue and hem him out

to keep van La Parra from scoring. He might get to it Dicko. A clever

turn in the end. Dicko, just wide. It was almost brilliant. He can't

believe he's not scored. Yet again, Collin was committed. That was

clever, actually. Dicko misses by a whisker.

Sako, caught by Broadfoot. Sako wanted the advantage there. He was

Henry, on the edge of the box. Trying to prod it through. They have

a free-kick. Sako has wasted opportunities from

this kind of range. With him now off the pitch, they will have to come up

with something a little bit different. Trailing 1-0. A decent

effort. It's over the top. A very good try from James Henry.

A degree of fortune for the goal really. My cope has made a good

save. Then October clearance it's rebound in. Similarly, at the other

end, when we did create the chances early in the game, we didn't take

them. Good saves by their keepers and a block or two on the line.

Going into the second-half, it seemed to be running away. We didn't

really then do enough with the ball. We were bitterly disappointed at

Derby last week, weren't we? We went there with the objective of getting

our first goal, first point and our first victory. I don't think there

is anybody in the stadium who thought we shouldn't have done. We

achieved that today. We got our first point, first goal, first point

and first three points. You know, welcome to the Championship. It's

another tough afternoon for us. Every game is going to be tough.

Well done to them. They had to ride their luck at times did Rotherham.

John, they are up and running? Absolutely. They will be delighted

to have won that home game. Last week's disappointment, away from

home, this was at home. You know what, lucky defending. Good

defending, poor defending, a great big slice of luck, I think. To keep

them in the game. If you get all that in one game sometimes it's your

day. I think it ended up their day. They will be delighted to have won.

You know what, probably deserved it. It is a skill sometimes holding on

in games. Every credit to them. I thought they did terrific. They had

to hold Wolves at bay. Almost a combination of good goal keeping

from Rotherham and wayward finishing that kept the scoreline down at 0-0?

Certainly was. They caused their own problems at first. They retrieved

the situation with desperate defending and good fortune as well,

as John said. Steve has done this for many years. Built an atmosphere

at home games which is hostile. It wasn't the players up for the game,

the crowd as well. I enjoyed this game. The the atmosphere at the New

York Stadium was electric. It lifted the players. The this double save.

Out of his goal, he should not have been. Prepared to put his body on

the line. He makes a mistake. Dicko should do well. His first touch

let's him down. Retrooefs the situation, doesn't give up. You say

to players, make one mistake, don't make two. Get back and retrieve it.

Clearing it off the line. This was the luck. He should finish this and

it should end up in the back of the net. He is running off to celebrate,

thinking it went in. Rotherham are off the hook. You thought, they have

a chance here. You could see the sucker-punch coming from Rotherham?

You could. You had that many opportunities in a game, if you

don't take them, it's always in the back of your mind - one slip, one

mistake, one bit of quality. That is what happened here. I think the goal

was a lot of fortune in the goal. The clearance has come off of Ryan

Hall. Fair play to Ryan, he shut it down. It has gone in the only place

it could go, straight in the net. How do you think they will do under

Steve this season? I think they will keep in the division much I don't

think they will do greater than that. He may prove me wrong. I think

they will keep their place in the division quite comfortably. Maybe

you know middle of the table. Just a bit below. The playing at home, that

crowd behind you. That enthusiasm, it gives them a great chance.

As for Saturday's early game in the Championship,

Leeds were looking to bounce back from a hugely disappointing start to

the new season after a 2-0 defeat to Millwall.

Since then, they've been boosted by a League Cup

win and three new signings, including striker Billy Sharp.

Their first home game was against Middlesbrough, who've made an eye

Albert Adomah. Has been disallowed which Middlesborough are furious

about. No goal. Cannot be offside from the throw. Is it dangerous

play? If so, it is harsh on oh Boma. Great technique. What can Luke

Murphy surf up here for Leeds. Billy Sharp's header drops wide. This is

Adam Clayton. The touch was close and the clearance essential. Gave

Billy Sharp an earful as well for the challenge on him. How many

chances have they had in terms of clear opportunities, Leeds United?

They will keep the hammer down here with a little over three minutes to

play. Billy Sharp scores for Leeds. A debut goal and may be a debut

winner. It was butterfingers. Goalkeeper must do better. Can

Billy Sharp proved it today, it is a poacher's goal. He holds the ball up

well, is clever with his movements. Goals will be important, but the

other stuff as well. It was a team performance. We attacked as a team,

defended as a team and made it difficult for a very good team. I

don't understand why it is not a goal. After we conceded the goal in

the last two minutes, we did not play well today. After their

promising start, it was disappointing from Middlesbrough.

Dave Hockaday, you know him, he will feel better about life in the

championship? So he should do. A lot of people were surprised he got the

job. Every credit to him. He is a good lad, proper football person and

he has done terrific. Has got an important win early on in probably

difficult circumstances. It goes to show, if you work hard, forget the

level, if your players play to you, you have half a chance. Before we

get to Billy Sharp's winning goal, I can take a guess what you will say

next. Albert Adomah's effort, should it have stood? 100%. He has not

looked at anything else other than the ball. Has shown great skill. I

don't think anyone would have been surprised if he gave the goal.

People are more surprised he didn't. As a forward, you have got to take a

gamble, overhead kicks, backheel around the corner, all that stuff

and I think it is a crazy decision. Talking of gambles, before Billy

Sharp scored the winning goal, what did he do earlier? He followed this

one in on the keeper. The goal did not come long after. It had an

effect on the keeper. He knows he should push that to the right but

because of what Billy Sharp said to him before, he is tense and that is

why Willie Sharp takes full advantage. It those things in the

game affects their mentality, then he affected the goalkeeper's

mentality. Right, five more games

in the Championship now, starting with one of the favourites

for promotion, newly-relegated Fulham, who suffered a reality check

in last week's defeat at Ipswich. So how would they respond

at home to Ian Holloway's Millwall The nature of a capital derby have

changed for Fulham. Ian Holloway's men were good value. They opened the

season with a 2-0 victory over Leeds and then backed it up in the cob.

They came close to scoring again to Scott Malone. The goalkeeper kept

them in contention. X thousand 500 crowd was down on last season.

George Williams proving elusive to Carlos Edwards. Millwall still to

concede a goal this season. Fulham turn two Patrick Roberts hoping you

would be better, which initially paid off. I am pleased and proud of

my team. Proud of my club. The energy at the end was tremendous.

What can I say? It is one of my best days at Millwall so far. Defeat at

Wolverhampton left Norwich fans fearing the worst. Not the start of

a team who would have this division licked. Nathan Redmond was left

licking his wounds within three minutes. The Redcar decision

licking his wounds within three the elbow was as black and white as

those Watford shirts. The Canaries have kept most of last season's

squad together and Bradley have kept most of last season's

led the way. A terrific finish and a goal to shatter any tension around

Carrow Road. Lewis Grabban is one of the players signed to score goals. A

slight deflection on this but another high-class goal to open his

account in yellow and Green. It has been revealed QPR agreed a fee for

midfielder Leroy Fer if Alex Teddy could score goals as good as this

one, he will not be to big and miss. At last the first one for Neil

Adams. The sending off so early in the game was a huge turning point.

We found that out last week. It is not easy. It looks easy on paper,

but as many teams have found out, you have to be patient and keep the

ball and make sure quality shines through and pleasingly we did that.

We were comfortable winners. Huddersfield arrived in Cardiff with

academy director in temporary charge hoping to build on a morale boosting

cup win in last week. 4-0 home defeat and a swift managerial

departure, got a bit worse as Peter Whittingham took deadly aim. Kenwyne

Jones who scored the first goal of the English league season eight days

ago put Cardiff two up. Huddersfield did have their chances, but could

they take one? The answer... Yes! Eventually. Wallace loitering near

the penalty spot. 2-1, game on. Huddersfield made a bright start in

the second half, but Cardiff always looked at the right. Kenwyne Jones

scored again. His third of the campaign. Huddersfield came from 3-1

down to win in midweek and kept up the pressure. Wells hit the corner

of the post and the bar. Cardiff will be up there this season. They

could go on and win it. When you have that quality, you cannot switch

off. But we switched off and then we were chasing the game. I liked the

system they played, but we sorted it out after a while. When you score

three at home, you are happy. Wigan have made a sluggish start from

there fan's point of view. This was a sublime strike from Jordan

Cousins. Eight minutes gone and a shop which sparked The Latics into

life. Callum McManaman did not have an easy path to goal. But nothing

was going to stop him. A touch of class to tie the scores and the

contrast of a fortuitous effort which ranged the match, not that the

Charlton fans heard how it looked. Franck Moussa's strike deflected by

a frantic attempt to block. The Wigan manager made his frustration

clear at the finish. With the second goal, I was emotional and I went to

his corner. He did not say very nice things to me and pushed me away. I

lost my composure, but that is a motion. It is finished. We will talk

about it and we will go on. Three minutes into his third coming, and

Masonic moment. On Monday, Joe Mason received a call from Dougie Freedman

inviting the Cardiff striker to spend a year on loan in Lancashire.

Fresh from back-to-back wins, Forest responded with conviction. Andy Reid

testing the goalkeeper. 33 goals for Peter Boro last season persuaded

Stuart Pearce to make a record by. First return on a ?5 million plus

investment made the score 1-1. A score held for just a couple of

minutes. David Wheater, a player whose adventure up field had been in

hope rather than expect station. More ill judged defending. Spearing

made a foul right on the edge of the penalty area. That is where the

scoring ended although Kevin McNaughton's cross offered a chance.

I felt it was a fantastic attacking display by both teams. I kept going

until the end. A fair result was the draw in the end. It could have gone

either way. All I can say to my players is, I am looking forward to

working with you. They have got great spirit and guts and they

showed that on Tuesday night at Tranmere and showed it again

tonight. I think we have some talent in the squad.

Millwall, what a fantastic start. Players are believing in the style

against the Fulham side, and the two budgets cannot compare? All the

money in the world, heart and desire is sometimes better than ability.

With just ability, I am not so sure, but with heart and a little bit of

ability, it goes a long way. Ollie, epitomises that in his teens.

Everyone who plays for him has to do that, or they are out. They have yet

to concede after three games and they ended the season last year with

the third worst defence. As for Norwich, 3-0 win for them. It is

their first championship victory of the campaign and for Neil Adams, his

first as Norwich manager. They scored some wonderful goals. Watford

did have a player sent off in the third minute but it does not take

away from the quality of the goals. This was almost Premier League

quality finishing. They think they have it covered. Let them shoot from

outside the box. I am pleased for Neil Adams because he had a tough

start. Charlton beaten in three and there was to do with the two

managers afterwards against Wigan, are you surprised how good Charlton

have done? Now I am not. are you surprised how good Charlton

have done? Now I Charlton made the change at a good time. The new

manager had time to evaluate what he had. I just had a feeling Charlton

were doing OK. They are a good club, it is a great place to play

football. I am not surprised. Our final look at the Championship

begins at Hillsborough. In a game involving two sides who've

won both their games in League and Cup without conceding, as Sheffield

Wednesday took on Steve McClaren's COMMENTATOR: The Owls made the

running. McGuire's Derby spell was short on games and goals. He is

thriving. His deflected free-kick could hardly have gone closer. Shots

from range the order of the day. Matlock's turn for a hard luck

story. Grant defiant for Derby. Russell wasted the Rams best moment.

That would be to downplay Westwood's goal keeping. When Martin finishes

like this you know it's destined to finish 0-0. Stood here disappointed

I haven't got the three points. The effort, the commitment and the

atmosphere the crowd generated great 0-0. A little bit disappointed I'm

stood here with one point, not the three. Delighted with the way the

players responded. Three clean sheets. Hard to beat. Created

chances. Not taking enough. But this is the Championship. You will get

different performances, different opponents we had a tough one today.

Ipswich looking for two league wins out of two. A good start was almost

awarded with an early gone. For reading Atkins included 12 players

in his squad who came through the club's Academy, one of those is

22-year-old Jake Taylor he has been on reading's books, but mostly out

on-loan for five years. That was his first reading goal. Into the second

goal, Ipswich pressing for an equaliser. Murphy almost made it one

appease. Reading's inexperience did show at times as they tried to hang

on to their lead. McGoldrick would have fancied his chances having

scored last week. Not today. Into stoppage-time. More Ipswich

pressure, but when it's not your day, it's not your day. Ball finds

Tommy Smith, who finds a supermarket sign. Good win for Reading

frustrating for Mick McCarthy. Disappointed in the first half. Not

as good with the ball as I would like to be. We gave the ball away

and resulted in a corner, the second bit of the corner ended up in our

net. Mistake by us. They capitalised on it. I think we've really played

well in the second-half and dominated it mainly. Not got

anything for it. Lee Clark hadn't overseen a league win for over 10

months. Mackail-Smith thought he was fouled by Hall on-loan from Spurs

who began his professional career with the Blues opponents. Birmingham

launched into a counter-attack that went uncontested. Finished off by

the unmarked Wes Thomas. Eight players who started the first-leg

have gone. Forster-Caskey couldn't save the game. City could enjoy a

long-awaited success. I thought we set our stall out from the first

whistle. A lot of pace and power about the team. We looked strong. As

you say, combative. When we got the ball we had compose sure. I think we

thoroughly deserved the result. Disappointed that we came in 0-0. I

thought we were dominant in the first half. Really pleased with the

group. Brentford get a B plus for this inventive free-kick routine

that nearly gave them the lead. Grey he denied a goal by wood or

waywardness? Kermorgant's placement was insufficient to beat the

goalkeeper, Button. Wilson scored two of the Cherries four goals in

their opening game at Huddersfield. He nearly added another after this

clearance. The introduction of Ryan Fraser and Stanislas from the bench

was decisive. The former West Ham and Burnley winger benefitted from

this cross. With a mere 44 games to play, how is that for starters? Is

was a It hard-fought game today. Brentford gave us problems and

performed well. A moment of quality won us the game. A good start to the

season. The manager said the tangerine fans is the reason why he

has not thrown in the towel. That chaos mirrored by his team's

defending for Blackburn's opening goal. Gestede picked up where he

left off last season. The French striker made it 10-goals in nine

league matches when he made the most of Conway's pin sharp cross. Last

season Blackpool won five of their first six games to lead the table.

12 months on, form like that seems a world away. They were the previous

campaign's lowest Championship scorers. They got their first of

this season. The owner went to Cywka. Blackburn have adopted the

home teams approach to defending. Scruffy and scrappy. They could have

taken a point. Robinson had to save this shot twice! Miller squeezed out

on the rebound. Rovers could have restored their two goal buffer. This

shot came off the post. Blackpool, better. The reaction, even 0-2 a

good reaction. We were looking for to equalise. With the way, not, we

were not playing, not rushing, we were building. Yeah, we have enough

opportunity, I think, to take a point. That was just the response I

suppose Gary wanted after what happened to Blackburn in the Cup

midweek. For Blackpool the nightmare goes on. Three defeats out of three.

A public spat almost between Riga and the Chairman? You know, I think

for anyone outside of the football club will look at it and go - it's a

shambles. I don't know who is managing the team, is the Chairman

managing or the imaginer managing? Eight players at one stage. Trying

to bring players from all over the place. To be fair, if it's not the

manager, if it's not down to him, I don't think he has any chance. I

really don't. I don't know the situation there. I think for anybody

involved in the club, would feel it's a shambles for everybody

outside the club would say it's a shambles. Something has to happen

there quickly. Sometimes you just sink. They are in danger of sinking.

Bournemouth are the surprise early leaders of the Championship after an

emphatic win on the opening weekend they had to grind one out against

Brentford They certainly did. He wasn't pleased with the performance

not up to the standards he was used to. Stanislas scored an excellent

goal. Brentford would be disappointed they didn't take

anything from the game. More than one way to win a game. If you win

games when you don't play well that is pleasing to the manager. They

will sleep well tonight even though he didn't pass it as as well as he

liked. I know Lee, he's a very passionate guy. Good luck to him.

You know, that win, that elusive win, when it comes, it can make such

a difference to the whole place. You know what, that might be a little

spark for him. OK. For Brighton a worrying start without a goal in

their first two games. After opening their home account

with a surprise defeat to Bristol City, Sheffield United were

looking to bounce straight back Two sides who lost their opening

games. There was a brilliant save from Allsp. Danny Swanson almost put

them in front. Then late on Harris claimed the winner. It went down as

an own-goal. Credit to the players. Their mentality was first-class

today. It gets the season off to a good start. The confidence Bristol

City got from their opening day win was tested by an early set back.

City played themselves into trouble. Moncur scored with his second goal

in as many league games. Wilbraham is making more of an impact with his

new club. After scoring on his City debut and setting up the winner, he

displayed a great touch to level the scores. If there was one at that

end, the former Crystal Palace striker would have raised the roof

with what followed. A header, so the team building appears to have made

good progress. Pleased with the win. Good start for us. Like I said last

week, only a start. Nothing to get carried away with. Just a good start

so far. Chesterfield and Rochdale are newly-promoted. Whilst

Derbyshire's finest have hit the ground rung at a high level. Dale

have found e -League One opponents less co-operative. Doyle had scored

in Chesterfield's first two matches of the new season. The chance to

extend that streak arrived when O'Shea was tripped by Rafferty. The

penalty the hallmark of confidence. To goal keeping shenanigans. Lillis

twisted his ankle. Morsy didn't hang around to enquire about his welfare.

The keeper tried to locate the fizz Yeo. Lillis was replaced by

16-year-old Musangu. It didn't take him long to become centre of

attention, handling outside his area. There was a moment of

leniency. The teenager had a penalty to face. Doyle, who played for Paul

Cook at Rovers, tempted Bennett into indiscretion. He picked his spot

emphatically. 10 minutes of stoppage-time played on the home

side's nerves. This handball offered Rochdale consolation after due

consideration from the referee. Ian Henderson scored with aplomb, Keith

Hill's men remain pointless while Chesterfield's men are buoyant.

Crawley town started the campaign really well. Their winning goal

against Swindon was more than a little controversial. The Thompson

making a tackle on McLeod. The referee felt it was not only worthy

of a penalty, but a straight red card for the teenage midfielder.

Needless to say, the Swindon players were far from happy. Even less so

when McLeod got up to put away the only goal of the game. His third in

consecutive matches this season. Late in the piece, Edwards was

unlucky not to extend the lead. A third 1-0 win for Crawley. A first

setback this season for disgruntled Swindon manager, Mark Cooper. The

referee's given a penalty from nearly in Crawley's half. We have

made a tackle in our box. He has given a penalty from nearly until

Crawley's half of the pitch, it's staggering. The linesman is stood

looking at it, not done anything. The referee gave it from the

half-way line which I find truly amazing. I have seen the clip again.

I believe Thompson gets a tauch on the ball. -- touch. The season is

won their Cup tie needed the Shearer to tip away this shot. An

outstanding volley. After two reverses in the first week of the

season. Barsly were in need of a swift change of fortunes. It came on

to leave Crewe without a point. Port Vale scored six in the Cup on

Tuesday, three of those to Williamson who found the net again

midway through the first half. A bit like Christmas week for the man born

on Christmas Day. Pope hasn't had a bad start to the season either. A

goal last weekend, two more in the Cup. Seven-minutes before half I

will time he scored his -- time he scored his fifth of the season.

Dickinson has gone almost 50 games without a goal until he was left too

much space in the area. 3-0 at half-time. Doncaster started life in

League One with wins at Yeovil and York in the Cup. One of their stars

has been 23-year-old Kyle Bennett that is how to make an impact having

spent most of last season out on-loan. The goal of the game was

consolation for Doncaster, whose bad day got worse, when forster appeared

to kick out at the keeper Sam Johnson. Forrester faces a ban.

all notable opposition. Coventry, they have not won this season until

Saturday and that was a good result against Sheffield United who opted

to do well in that league. Stephen Priestley has been linked with a

championship club. They can do without that. Losing 21 goals in

Callum Wilson, they had to sign some quality. They have got to

concentrate on defending. Last season they went all guns lazing and

an emotional cup tie against AFC Wimbledon, MK Dons faced the

intensity of a local derby as they travel to Peter Boro aiming for

three wins out of three in all competitions. At the landing the

league cup opponents everyone wanted, Manchester United, MK Dons

could find it hard to keep their eye on the ball. Although they look

focused at London Road. The home side went on to edge a tight first

half thanks to a Young Tottenham winger. If the nastier deflection

further out, Joe Martin was considerably more affect you. The

energy who can take their opportunities when they come along.

they will be more than delighted. Special goal scorer among Preston's

ranks. He ended as top scorer but Joe Gardner has a couple more? Yes,

these are confident finishes. Making sure he takes a touch first. You

have the space to do that, take the touch. First-time finish, but the

only way he can score is to head it down into the far corner because

there wasn't a lot of pace on the cross. Great afternoon for Chris

Humphrey with two assists and a goal. They need a fast start because

they don't want to go through the play-offs again? Their record last

year was very good. If they can get nine, 12, 14 games under their

belts, in and around it, they are an experienced side and I think they

will be a big challenge this year. And the manager has been there and

done it for them in that division. Thanks to the efforts of several

people, Luton Town are back in the foot all-league after five years

away. The first -- perfect time for us to visit Kenilworth Road.

For those of a certain age, the name Luton Town conjures up images of

their artificial pitch, 1988 league cup win and one of English

football's most enduring moments. That is it. Luton Town have

survived. David elite is on the pitch. He has kept them up. What an

amazing act of escapology by Luton. More recent memories ahead of 2008,

had an extraordinary 30 point deduction for various financial

irregularities and the inevitable regulate relegation that followed.

the job. We started slowly last year but we became strong. Six or eight

games, and by then I will know where we are and if I need to juggle it

around. I know exactly what I will need to do. We have got a good group

of hungry, ambitious players. Good mixture of youth and experience. I

am still mindful it is a fantastic time to be a Luton Town supporter.

You know the way we played. No changes, no surprises. Don't let

yourself down at the last Saturday. Come on! Emotional? A little bit, it

well. I thought we done enough to get something from the game. Final

third play wasn't quite as good as it should be. I always say, six,

eight games you need to get going. To be fair, in the games that we've

played I have seen enough to suggest we are improving. I think that the

longer the season goes we will get better. I was quite happy with our

performance. You are always disappointed when you lose. I'm not

disappointed with the performance. A turbulent time for the Hatters since

they have been in the conference, you are back in the League as well

after a season away. What is it like to be back? Obviously, to be honest,

I didn't really want to come out of the League, if I'm being honest. It

was seen as a brave move at the time It was, or a mad move, not quite

sure. I always believed that we could do it. I always believed we

could get back. Fantastic support. Players done fantastic last season.

The club is right back in the Football League and can grow. Look

at the fans applauding 25 minutes after the game? Incredible. They

stayed behind after the game. One of the biggest pleasures for me is I

feel we have righted a wrong for a lot of those supporters. I think

that the Football League status is a massive, massive thing for the

football club. The players deserve every credit. We haven't won today.

That happens. It's football. We will lose again. What is important is

that the club keeps growing on and off the pitch. Supporters and

players are very much together at the minute. It's a massive thing for

me to be able to manage a club that I believe can go through the

leagues. Now maybe in my time, I might not see it get to its

pinnacle. I do believe they will have a great future. Ambitions for

this future? To finish as high as we can. Teams from the Conference tend

to do well? They do. If they fulfill its potential it will go All the

their first point. I felt Burton were better than us in the

after two. I thought it was a decent game. I thought we were the better

team. I thought we deserved our team. They missed the penalty in the

93rd minute. Bury played well in the capital One Cup before going out in

extra-time. Championship Bolton in midweek. Nardiello's opener game

after fast and accurate build-up play. The Shakers owed plenty to

their keeper, Lainton in the first half. Parnaby shut out before

Harewood fired the rebound off target. The match was still very

much in the balance, Lowe, splendid in front of goal for Tranmere,

nearly doubled the Bury lead. No surprise when they got the points.

Rose, resigned from Barnsley, 24-hours earlier, taking advantage

of a mistake from Bates to complete their first victory of the season.

Three defeats on the spin though for Hartlepool. After reverses at

Northampton and Sheffield United Mansfield struck first here when

Tafazolli dived in to meet the rebound. Hilton grabbed the winner.

season. The winning goal came via a much less seasoned campaigner,

Mullin was making his league debut, crowned with the winner. The bookies

relegation favourites are flying. Plymouth's early dominance in the

Devon Derby against Exeter was inspired by homegrown youngsters.

Nelson rattling the bar before a terrific free-kick from Tyler Harvey

fizzed into the corner for the opening goal. The stylish Harvey was

very much involved in the second as well. His measured pass finished by

Reuben Reid there won't be many League Two strikers who will score

more than Plymouth's Number Nine this season. Exeter will be hoping

that Cummins does damage for them. Denied after coming on as a sub by

the Plymouth keeper McCormack. Nelson, up for a set-piece, blazed

home number three to put a gloss on a sparkling all round Plymouth

performance. That game was for the supporters after losing twice

against them last year. Disappointing you want to win and

get the bragging rights over your closest Rifles. Pleased for the

supporters. You could see the effort and we did play really good stuff.

Threes two clubs are aiming for an immediate return to League One.

Tranmere, Power had the goal in his sights. They had a midweek Cup

defeat. They went in front with this cross was cut back and Bell-Baggie

gave the travelling fans something to shout about. Fresh from their Cup

win over Blackpool, the hosts should have been level before the break.

Collins come himself into a tangle. If Rovers shaded the first half, the

Shrews took charge of the business end. Mangan got the equaliser. He

had time to make another telling contribution. His 94th minute

deliver was met by Demetriou. The 24-year-old's first Football League

goal sealed a late, late comeback. Nothing complex about Southend's

opener. Nine minutes on the clock when Weston scored for the club.

That was them on their way. Brown's team were out of reach thanks to

Coker's first Roots Hal. Both victories were won with clean

sheets. Wycombe's Cowan-Hall made a fantastic shot last week. The goal

of the game came from the Cumbrians. They hadn't scored in their first

two matches. After a superb break away down the left, Potts arrived at

the near-post to level the match. It was a tough game to call now. The

whole thing went to pot for Carlisle in the space of five minutes. First,

after O'Hanlon was penalised for handball. Hayes restored the wick op

lead. Soon it was 3-1. Cowan-Hal went clear on the right. Murphy made

certain that Wycombe finished the weekend inside the top two. For

Carlisle it got even worse. Morrow got a second yellow card. This ahead

of a hard game this week to Cheltenham. York rued a series of

missed chances in their Cup defeat. The breakthrough came direct from a

corner. Straker's dead ball beat Duke at his near-post. Richards'

free-kick was perfect. His first for his new club. League Two was

certainly the division for late drama. Nine goals we counted between

us being scored in the last 10 minutes of the games including that

game at Shrewsbury both goals in injury-time. Come back of the day,

Morecambe from 2-0 down against Newport. They scored seven against

them last season. 10 in three games with this comeback. Thanks to Kevin

Ellison? He has done fantastic over the years really. He's wholehearted.

He's annoying. He's lively. He upsets everybody, but he plays with

a big heart. He always comes up with goals. He always comes up with hard

work. He is difficult to play against. If you have that in your

team people don't want to play against you. A massive plus. Well

done Kevin, very well-respected player he is for what he gives the

game. Now there is no better way to get your first win of the season

than in the Devon Derby, is there? You know that of course from having

played and managed down in that area. This was a great result for

Plymouth A massive game Plymouth Exeter. The even bigger as neither

side had won this season as well. He is a player that is returning - he

started at Plymouth. He told us his shoe size... It's funny how you go

back. You kind of go full circle. Had his problems and settled down.

You can see the potential. Big attendances in that division. 16,500

at Portsmouth, 11,500 at Plymouth. I think there was another 11,000

Luton. Yeah. It's fantastic. You know, I think that the teams are

well supported. If they get entertained, supporters are going to

come. Portsmouth would look at themself and think they are not a

Division Two club, if I'm being honest. Plymouth would say the same,

they are capable of being higher. Luton would say the same. With the

support those clubs have got, it gives it a fantastic chance. Being

as neutral as you can be who do you see - Not Who is easy. Realistic

challenges for the top two position? Bury will be strong. If I'm being

honest, Southend will be strong. I have a sneaky outside feeling for Do

you Northampton. ? I do. Let us look at the table before we signoff.

After just two games in the Sky Bet Championship, Bournemouth

and Millwall are the only teams with a 100% winning record.

Four teams have yet to pick up a point, with Sami Hyypia's Brighton

Five teams have 100% winning records in League One, including newcomers

Pre-season title favourites Sheffield United remain without

a point, but newly relegated Yeovil are the
