There is more of the blue really. It is the correct spot. You might

get a few points off this situation here because it is not easy to get

out of the snooker. He has to go twice across the table. How close

was fair from Ding's perspective but referees do not get an option.

either wait for your opponent to make a mistake or grasp the nettle

himself and that is what he did there. Pink goes in the middle.

Which gives Matthew a bit of a problem now. He is looking to see

producing what you would see on another night in an amateur game.

front. Just 35 left. This is a tough one to get. They have all

gone past the 10 or 11-minute mark. And the 20-minute mark. They have

not scored well enough to make the frames. One player has made a shot

and a miss then the other player gets back into the game so that

prolongs the frames. They are certainly not slow players by any

means. Didn't play the pot there. It was a very, very good attempt

there to get behind yellow. With the Green and brown in place there

is a very good chance of Ding getting back into this frame. Not

on this shorts of course, but if he were to get the chance to 39 a red

and a black - to pot a red and a black. You could pot the yellow and

play a very good position shot on the Green A tough snooker for

Martin to hit so not a certainty black is going to come to the

of seconds then dropped would it have had to have been replaced. But

once it touches the near jaw you do not expect it to drop but it was

the pace that let it fall into the delighted but he will be delighted

to be two frames in front. Just about everything has gone wrong for

Matthew Stevens in the match so far has gone wrong. If they are two-up

like Ding was and it is two-all you feel disappointed because you feel

you have lost something out ?. The opposite for your opponent if he

The reason he was not on the black Dennis, he needed a deep screw. He

But he is such an experienced campaigner now, and he will be

pretty good of doing what you mentioned, Terry, putting it out of

his mind and just looking for the future. It is nice to watch when

you see players spin in with a cue ball into a certain position. It

all looks so simple these players but you just go down once in your

club put a red down, stand up for blue then leave a perfect angle to

put it back down again. See how many times you can do that. It

would be a good exercise. You cannot die to hit it harder, Dennis,

or easier. You just have to rely on instinct on that shot to get the

exact angle on the blue. Yeah, I know you do a lot of coaching but

that is one thing you can coach someone t pace they have to hit the

ball, that is a natural thing that comes with practice. Really the

first three frames the balls went rather awkward. The first frame was

27 minutes, 26, 23 but since then we have a nine-minute frame t 13

minute, 12 minute. Red and black will suffice. 35 minutes and he has

not been hanging around. Just makes you realise when Ronnie O'Sullivan

made that imagine knife sent break in 5 minutes 20 seconds how out

standing that was. Something that will probably never be equalled in

a game of snooker to make a maximum in that A time. It was a bit tight.

He will not bother about not making the century A good response from

a good 8 foot like 3 inches short I'm not sure if he can avoid coming

corner because if he could do he would finish nicely on the black.

He has to make sure of the pot first. If he is going to hit them

he may come back towards the blue. He played it beautifully.

coming into the red there was very good indeed. A key shot if this

works out. He will take the frame. Just the most gentle of nudges.

(APPLAUSE) The reason he did not play hard into those Reds, he does

not need the four difficult reds F he can get colour was those four

lose reds he will leave Matthew needing a snooker. Stevens missed

the red in the centre. Not an easy one. But the quality has been very

good after the interval for both flicked one of the reds out snuff

to be possible into the middle pocket. Not a lot of pressure on

will swing towards the pack of reds. If he hit it harder the white would

swing over towards the reds that are near the black. See where he is

pointing the tip of his cue? So if he hits the cushion at pace and the

side - you keep an eye on the cue ball here, how it goes to the left.

Trusting a little bit to luck and he did not get any. A cut needed in

this safety shot. Not an easy one, this is, he is going to cross the

red as we say. If he cuts the red slightly thick you could move to

the red on the way back or a blue. He could leave Matthew in, so, he

Pinkney way. If he had not have screwed it, could it have been

the point of no return. Needs to win this one. And the next to to go

through into the quarterfinals. Sometimes we are in that position.

It just sharpens the senses up a bit. Mmm. Didn't take the red, but

at least he can drop the black in and stay on the red for the length

of the cushion. The pot is not so plain sailing position-wise, but he

is till there. That is it F you not absolutely sure get back up and

back down on the shot. That is a golf shot. See the golfers do it,

they are not going to play the shot, they are not quite ready, they walk

away from the slot and back up again. Almost a good thing if you

change your mind and you are down on the shot, all of this seems to

go wrong. As Frank Kharn used to say t first professional coach to

come onto the circuit with the top players "If you ever find yourself

in two minds, don't forget you only have one!". Frank Cullen, hey! He

has coached most of the world champions, certainly the older ones.

Just come up a little bit short there Needs to get the extension

out. You can see there he only needs this red and black. Can he

reluctant to get the long tackle out, but I don't know if he can

reef it with a normal red. He will use that battered extension that he

has, the one with all the marks on it. He just has to drop it in and

but has an easy safety but he needs to get the reds up the far side of

the table. Since Ding gets a chance he will not find it so easy to get
