Day 2 UK Snooker Championship Extra

Hello again. Tonight from the Barbican Centre in York, we are

featuring Mark Davis from Sussex, who was enjoying the best season of

his long 21 year career. For the first time ever, he has qualified

by right as a member of the top 16 for this, the William Hill

championship. He is up against a young man from China, 22-year-old

Cao Yupeng, and it is his first go at the televised stages of this

event after causing quite a stir at The Crucible seven months ago when

he knocked out Mark Allen on room to round two. That was the World

Championship. And John Higgins will be watching this match very closely

because he will play the winner of it in the second round. And

watching closely as well, Neal Foulds and Dennis Taylor, a

commentary team. -- our commentary Not the best break-off shot. Left a

possible pot for Mark Davis, who has been showing some terrific form

it is unusual how Mark has come through. Been playing for a long

time and it is only in the last four, five years he has become so

much of a problem, with the cannon. He can hold it without doing that,

it is much better than risking slipping out of position. Just

thinking whether he places last red onto a lower value colour then the

black. He has not got a very good angle, there. I mentioned the blue

being in the way, to get nicely onto the green to get on to the

brown. It is not just plain sailing But, he is cueing the ball

beautifully. That shot there deserve a round of applause,

screwing that back off the cushion without any effort. And he has now

got the decision. For the colours and the baulk area. Well, well,

well, in the end, he rushed the pot, he thought so much about everything

else. I tell you what, it does not matter how well you're playing, if

you lose a bit of concentration, and that is what he did there, he

here. I thought for a moment he had missed that. Once again, he may

have to clear back for the blue. -- played back -- play back. This is a

slight cut back, quick a missable It needs a good match, here. --

the way. It is possible he could get a natural angle and for that,

from the blue. I am not sure if the red that is closer to the pink spot
