Once I was red, now I'm blue. Once I was blue, then red, then blue, now | :00:38. | :00:54.
I'm red. I lifted the cup with them. And us. I won two titles and the | :00:55. | :01:05.
double. In one season with them. We won the lot. We are the most | :01:06. | :01:12.
successful club in the land. We are the holders. Double winners. | :01:13. | :01:24.
History. Champions. Red. Blue. North London. West London. Arsenal. | :01:25. | :01:35.
Chelsea. The two best teams in the capital meet at the National Stadium | :01:36. | :01:39.
for the very first time. Holders Chelsea after their victory against | :01:40. | :01:43.
Notts County last year, the first ever at Wembley, against Arsenal, | :01:44. | :01:47.
the most successful club in the history of the competition, looking | :01:48. | :01:51.
to regain the trippy their last won two years ago. 30,000 were here for | :01:52. | :01:58.
last year -- with a trophy. We are expecting more this afternoon. The | :01:59. | :02:04.
last two names on the trophy go head-to-head, Arsenal Ladies, | :02:05. | :02:07.
historic giant of women's football, trying to wrestle the cup back from | :02:08. | :02:12.
last season's double winners, Chelsea Ladies. It promises to be | :02:13. | :02:18.
quite a final. And with me to enjoy it, two players who know exactly | :02:19. | :02:20.
what it's like to lift the famous old trophy, Rachel Brown, who was | :02:21. | :02:27.
goalkeeper when Everton won in 2010, the only time Arsenal have lost an | :02:28. | :02:34.
FA Cup final. They have won it an incredible 13 times thanks partly to | :02:35. | :02:38.
Rachel Yankey, winning nine times with Arsenal and twice with Fulham, | :02:39. | :02:45.
11 winners medals. Currently on loan at Notts County. That is a | :02:46. | :02:50.
ridiculous number of medals. What is it like to get your hands on that, | :02:51. | :02:56.
particularly in front of the Arsenal players? Being just want it made it | :02:57. | :03:02.
extra special. It is the pinnacle of your career to play in the FA Cup | :03:03. | :03:07.
final, especially in front of wonderful crowd at Wembley. For me | :03:08. | :03:10.
to get my hands on the trophy after trying a number of times was a | :03:11. | :03:17.
highlight of my career. 11th winners medals is ridiculous! Are they | :03:18. | :03:21.
around the house in different bedrooms? I have a cabinet. It is | :03:22. | :03:26.
just special to play in this occasion. I did not get to do it | :03:27. | :03:31.
here, this is fantastic, and both teams will have a fantastic day and | :03:32. | :03:36.
whoever wins will remember it. I hope you have a security guard on | :03:37. | :03:42.
that Cabinet! But it could go to extra time and penalties this | :03:43. | :03:45.
afternoon but whatever happens, one of these teams will make the short | :03:46. | :03:50.
journey home with the cup. Sue Smith has been assessing the strengths of | :03:51. | :03:51.
each team. It has been a time of great change | :03:52. | :04:00.
at Chelsea, after years building they are now double winners and one | :04:01. | :04:04.
thing to pinpoint is ever-changing front four. They play another ten in | :04:05. | :04:10.
the hole with a rotating three in front. | :04:11. | :04:19.
The Korean, Ji come is the number ten, one of the best in that | :04:20. | :04:27.
position. Eni Aluko template up top, Gemma Davison on the right and Karen | :04:28. | :04:33.
Carney on the left. Fran Kirby can be found in any one of those front | :04:34. | :04:38.
three roles. Their selection is fluid and versatile, like their | :04:39. | :04:39.
style. Causing problems for the opposition | :04:40. | :04:48.
has never been a problem for Chelsea but perhaps their shortcomings have | :04:49. | :04:51.
been when they have played a more physical team and got bullied a | :04:52. | :04:57.
little bit, but not any more. Millie Bright provide steel in the middle, | :04:58. | :05:00.
an immense athlete. I played with her at Doncaster and she has | :05:01. | :05:05.
developed so much since then, her all-round game has improved and I | :05:06. | :05:09.
think she is a future England international. Along with Drew | :05:10. | :05:13.
Spence and Katie Chapman, they are the enforcers and allow the front | :05:14. | :05:17.
four to go forward and play. One thing that shines through is how | :05:18. | :05:21.
much the players really enjoy playing for their manager. One | :05:22. | :05:25.
headache for Emma Hayes is that teams can get at them and we have | :05:26. | :05:29.
seen Liverpool scoring three goals, albeit in a 6-3 defeat today. | :05:30. | :05:37.
Throughout my playing career come Arsenal have always dominated. 14 | :05:38. | :05:46.
league titles, 13 FA cups. Not so much recently. But they do have a | :05:47. | :05:51.
wealth of experience in their squad. In their defence they have Casey | :05:52. | :05:57.
Stoney and Alex Scott, over 200 England caps between them. It is a | :05:58. | :06:03.
similar story in midfield with Fara Williams and Jordan Nobbs, both with | :06:04. | :06:07.
loads of international experience, and the luxury of a world-class | :06:08. | :06:11.
player like Kelly Smith as a coach and occasionally off the bench. The | :06:12. | :06:15.
manager has also added a wealth of international experience, goalkeeper | :06:16. | :06:20.
van Veenendahl, centre forward van de Donk and Henning at centre-half. | :06:21. | :06:26.
The problem he has is trying to fit all of those quality players into a | :06:27. | :06:30.
starting 11th and there has been a lot of chopping and changing this | :06:31. | :06:35.
season and a lack of consistency -- 11. This is why it is so difficult | :06:36. | :06:40.
to predict. Both teams know each other so well. Chelsea started the | :06:41. | :06:44.
season better but it is a cup final and anything can happen. STUDIO: It | :06:45. | :06:50.
can indeed and that is what makes it so exciting. This is the team that | :06:51. | :06:56.
the Arsenal boss Pedro Losa has selected. He has gone for Casey | :06:57. | :07:03.
Stoney, Fara Williams and Kelly Smith, all starting. Do you think | :07:04. | :07:09.
that is specifically because it is a huge stage and you need that | :07:10. | :07:15.
experience? Definitely, you need those big players who are used to | :07:16. | :07:18.
playing in this environment, the atmosphere, and they have to control | :07:19. | :07:23.
their emotions. Those are the players you want in your team and | :07:24. | :07:27.
through the spine as well, big players like Kelly Smith who can | :07:28. | :07:30.
come out and win a game and show what they are about. Any surprising | :07:31. | :07:38.
omissions? Jemma Rose has been dropped having played most of the | :07:39. | :07:43.
season so far and she is not even on the bench. Henning comes in. That | :07:44. | :07:48.
was a surprise although Jemma Rose as not quite been in form but it's | :07:49. | :07:52.
great to see the likes of Kelly Smith back in there, and England | :07:53. | :07:57.
legend. And an Arsenal legend. She has won the cup before and will be | :07:58. | :08:01.
pulling the strings to Dave for them. Let's have a look at the | :08:02. | :08:03.
Chelsea team. They have an embarrassment of | :08:04. | :08:13.
riches. Look at the bench, Eni Aluko, Claire Rafferty. She has gone | :08:14. | :08:18.
for Spence and Chapman in midfield, a huge amount of strength. A | :08:19. | :08:23.
platform for the attacking players. Definitely. It is such a front four, | :08:24. | :08:29.
with such power, to leave out Eni Aluko, she could get into any team. | :08:30. | :08:35.
But I think Gemma Davison will worry defenders and that is possibly why, | :08:36. | :08:39.
if it was Eni Aluko and Gemma Davison, that is why Gemma Davison | :08:40. | :08:45.
gets the nod. The key players for you? Katie Chapman and Drew Spence | :08:46. | :08:51.
have been like a brick wall in midfield and they can almost | :08:52. | :08:56.
nullified what Arsenal will bring. They are holding midfielders but | :08:57. | :09:00.
have an attacking element so they will be a real force that Arsenal | :09:01. | :09:04.
will have to get through. They are a strong part of it but it is the | :09:05. | :09:08.
attacking force of Chelsea in that front four that Arsenal will be more | :09:09. | :09:14.
worried about than anything. As we alluded to come Arsenal at the | :09:15. | :09:16.
experience and one of the greats of the game to call upon. Kelly Smith | :09:17. | :09:22.
has been talking to us. Starting in yet another cup final but here at | :09:23. | :09:25.
Wembley and against local rivals Chelsea, it does not get much | :09:26. | :09:30.
bigger? This one is a bit special, at Wembley, and doing it for the | :09:31. | :09:35.
club I supported as a kid and the only team I played for in England. | :09:36. | :09:38.
It is a massive occasion for myself and my family and the club. You have | :09:39. | :09:42.
played here before, what is your advice to the girls in the changing | :09:43. | :09:47.
rooms who have not been in this situation? It's just another game, | :09:48. | :09:52.
yes, it's in Wembley but we have played this game are hundreds of | :09:53. | :09:56.
times. There is expectation with the stadium and fans but it is still a | :09:57. | :10:00.
game of football. Our preparation has been fantastic, really on it and | :10:01. | :10:05.
focused and ready to pick up the trophy. Do the nerves ever go away? | :10:06. | :10:10.
I still have them now, but it's good nurse, a bit of the belly rumbling. | :10:11. | :10:16.
-- good nerves. But when you get out and soak up the sun and you can see | :10:17. | :10:20.
where your family are sitting and you can enjoy the occasion. Best of | :10:21. | :10:26.
luck. If the great Kelly Smith is nervous it is OK for the younger | :10:27. | :10:31.
ones to have some nerves. You played with her for so many years with | :10:32. | :10:34.
England and Arsenal, what is she like on and off the pitch? Off the | :10:35. | :10:41.
pitch she is quite shy and humble but on the pitch she is a De Menezes | :10:42. | :10:47.
if Kelly sees red, she has that aggression -- she is a demon! I | :10:48. | :10:55.
think she can switch and turn a game which is what I wasn't surprised to | :10:56. | :11:02.
see she was starting. She came on in the Birmingham game and changed the | :11:03. | :11:07.
FA Cup and kept them in it, and in the Notts County game she was their | :11:08. | :11:11.
best player and I think she has to play. When Kelly Smith plays welcome | :11:12. | :11:15.
it lists the team and get the rest playing well. And it will lift the | :11:16. | :11:22.
fans. Chelsea's longest serving player is Claire Rafferty who is now | :11:23. | :11:25.
in her 10th season at the club and she has come back after suffering | :11:26. | :11:29.
three cruciate knee ligament injuries. She told me she is now | :11:30. | :11:31.
keen to make up for lost time. This is not a bad setup. A beautiful | :11:32. | :11:45.
training facility, your own women's training pitch currently being mown. | :11:46. | :11:52.
The sun is shining. A far cry from when you started? Yeah, we used to | :11:53. | :11:58.
be over at the back, eight o'clock at night every Tuesday and Thursday | :11:59. | :12:03.
and now we are in everyday, such a different environment. Things have | :12:04. | :12:06.
changed since John Terry was helping you out, though he is still very | :12:07. | :12:11.
supportive. He is still the chairman, the president I think. He | :12:12. | :12:17.
did bail us out at one stage about five or six years ago when we were | :12:18. | :12:22.
struggling with kit and stuff and that went hand-in-hand with us being | :12:23. | :12:27.
near the bottom of the league. What kind of match can we expect? I think | :12:28. | :12:32.
it will be close and hopefully we can break them down, get Ji on the | :12:33. | :12:40.
ball, our magician. We will see, I don't want to... Karen Carney, you | :12:41. | :12:47.
played against her in the 2012 FA Cup final, dare I mention the | :12:48. | :12:54.
penalties and everything. Everybody forgets about that one. We were | :12:55. | :12:59.
nowhere near as good as we are now then. We came really close, I think | :13:00. | :13:04.
I missed a penalty. I wasn't going to mention it! But to win it last | :13:05. | :13:11.
year, and then the league, having been at the club for so long, I felt | :13:12. | :13:18.
a bit rewarded for my patients and just released a look back in my | :13:19. | :13:22.
career and say that at least I won the FA Cup and the league and a | :13:23. | :13:26.
bronze medal at the World Cup! It has been an agreeable time for you. | :13:27. | :13:31.
Even more so bearing in mind you have had three ACL injuries. Not | :13:32. | :13:34.
many have come back to play better than ever on that. I think I hold | :13:35. | :13:39.
the record for the most amount of ACLs. The silver lining was that I | :13:40. | :13:45.
did them at a young age so I could bounce back. What drove me on was | :13:46. | :13:51.
the fact that I had not won anything yet or achieved anything. And you | :13:52. | :13:54.
have a working life outside of football. I work part-time for | :13:55. | :14:01.
Deutsche Bank. I am probably in want of twice a week and work from home | :14:02. | :14:06.
in the afternoons, and currently an analyst. Talk this through a day in | :14:07. | :14:09.
your working life last year compared to this year. Last season I used to | :14:10. | :14:16.
get the trading at about 930, I used to run off the pitch and be in the | :14:17. | :14:20.
office for about 130. It was pretty full on. And this season it is | :14:21. | :14:28.
totally different. The increase in professionalism, something has to | :14:29. | :14:33.
give. They are so supportive with where I'm at. What would you like to | :14:34. | :14:36.
achieve after you have finished your career? I don't know, obviously | :14:37. | :14:42.
continue in the same line in investment banking and to try to | :14:43. | :14:46.
work my way up the ladder up with that. Not everybody will make it to | :14:47. | :14:50.
the highest level so you need something to fall back on. It's | :14:51. | :14:54.
going all right at the moment. It's going well! | :14:55. | :14:58.
Claire Rafferty is a busy lady, but she is having a bit of a rest today, | :14:59. | :15:07.
on the bench. What are your thoughts? I'm not sure about that | :15:08. | :15:11.
because for me, she is one of the first names on the team sheet for | :15:12. | :15:16.
Chelsea, and for England as well. Bringing in the Portuguese | :15:17. | :15:20.
international Ana Borges, who not necessarily a out-and-out defender, | :15:21. | :15:23.
it is a bit of a strange one. I don't think Claire Rafferty has done | :15:24. | :15:30.
anything to let down Chelsea. I have my suspicions that there might be a | :15:31. | :15:33.
little bit of an injury with Claire Rafferty. We shall see. Chelsea have | :15:34. | :15:40.
listed the league and cup double. Emma Hayes is one of several former | :15:41. | :15:46.
Arsenal employees now at Chelsea. Earlier, she spoke to Jo. You must | :15:47. | :15:51.
have such great memories from last year, so how hungry are you and the | :15:52. | :15:55.
team to keep the trophy? Last year, it feels like yesterday. That is how | :15:56. | :16:02.
Familia Wembley has become for us. We will always compete for trophies, | :16:03. | :16:06.
the hardest decision I have to make is naming the team, disappointing | :16:07. | :16:11.
people on the big occasion. But Chelsea will expect to content for | :16:12. | :16:14.
trophies across the season. Is it fair to say that you are favourites | :16:15. | :16:20.
today? Anybody involved in cup competitions knows there is no such | :16:21. | :16:25.
thing. It is a one-off game, it is a London derby, and Arsenal have | :16:26. | :16:27.
quality throughout the squad. No favourites. The team which gets | :16:28. | :16:35.
strategy right usually wins. The crowd will be an advantage for you | :16:36. | :16:39.
today? I think we know how to manage the occasion, which is an advantage, | :16:40. | :16:47.
I think. It is everybody's dream to play on this pitch. Be on that I | :16:48. | :16:51.
think there will be nothing to separate the teams. I hope it is a | :16:52. | :16:56.
good affair for the neutrals and the fans because we will have a record | :16:57. | :17:01.
crowd today, which really big for women's football. Fran Kirby was | :17:02. | :17:08.
ineligible last year, having signed from Reading that season. How much | :17:09. | :17:11.
of an influence would you expect her to have? I think a massive influence | :17:12. | :17:17.
in this game. Probably because we did not start the best, and she has | :17:18. | :17:21.
been on the bench, she has not started as much as we would expect. | :17:22. | :17:27.
But she has come into her own in the latter stages. She is a tricky | :17:28. | :17:30.
player, seekh kebabs the ball under such good close control, and she | :17:31. | :17:37.
works so hard. She is so passionate, and on an occasion like this, if you | :17:38. | :17:41.
are the Arsenal back four, you have got to be worried. They will have | :17:42. | :17:48.
seen her playing for England, they see her every week - a tricky, | :17:49. | :17:56.
clever player? Yes, dubbed the mini Messi by Mark Sampson. She lives up | :17:57. | :18:00.
to that, in a lot of respects. She will be thrilled to be starting in | :18:01. | :18:06.
this massive occasion. She has only recently come into the framework on | :18:07. | :18:09.
the international level, having moved from Reading. She will be | :18:10. | :18:13.
exciting for today but also looking ahead over the next ten years, | :18:14. | :18:19.
hopefully. Arsenal have struggled to find a consistent starting XI this | :18:20. | :18:25.
season, but Danielle Carter has been ever present in the league. She made | :18:26. | :18:29.
her England debut in September and she also made it into the England | :18:30. | :18:34.
team of the year. No wonder, then, that we told Sue Smith to yet | :18:35. | :18:38.
Carter. How excited are you about the FA Cup | :18:39. | :18:52.
Final? Definitely, it's going be a great occasion. Two London teams at | :18:53. | :18:57.
Wembley. It's going to be an historical event. Have you been to | :18:58. | :19:00.
Wembley before? To watch but not to play. Talk about, I know you have | :19:01. | :19:07.
been to FA Cup finals before... The most recent one, 2014, we won, it | :19:08. | :19:11.
was great. Everybody was enjoying it. That is what we have got to | :19:12. | :19:17.
replicate. But I have also been on the losing side, against Everton. | :19:18. | :19:21.
What do you think of Chelsea, your opponents? Obviously, we are massive | :19:22. | :19:27.
rivals. A lot of them are ex-Arsenal players, which is quite annoying. | :19:28. | :19:31.
But we just want to win. I remember hearing you say about Katie Chapman | :19:32. | :19:35.
being one of your favourite players to play alongside - is she still one | :19:36. | :19:43.
of your mates? I still respect her a lot, but when she's not on my team, | :19:44. | :19:48.
she is just another sport. I still respect her, but on the pitch, it | :19:49. | :19:53.
doesn't matter any more. So, 2016, will it be your breakthrough season | :19:54. | :19:56.
for England? I would like to think so. Obviously, I have got one cap | :19:57. | :20:02.
now and I just want to get more and more. I want to be in contention to | :20:03. | :20:07.
play for England, fingers crossed, if I keep performing the way I have | :20:08. | :20:13.
been. Obviously, in your single cap, you got a hat-trick. I could not | :20:14. | :20:17.
have asked for anything but, obviously! As a player, I am still | :20:18. | :20:24.
young, with a lot of things to work on. Hopefully I will get another | :20:25. | :20:28.
call up soon. And obviously, at Wembley, with loads of people coming | :20:29. | :20:32.
to watch? I personally have a lot of family. My family is massive. I | :20:33. | :20:38.
think it totals up to about 70 adults and 30-odd children! Flags | :20:39. | :20:45.
and banners?! I hope not! But hopefully it will be a good game for | :20:46. | :20:50.
them to see. I think she was actually serious. I think she has | :20:51. | :20:54.
got a hundred members of her family! It would not surprise me! I do not | :20:55. | :21:00.
even know 100 people! You know her really well from your time at | :21:01. | :21:05.
Arsenal - what sort of person is the on and off the pitch? Of the pitch, | :21:06. | :21:11.
she is very down-to-earth, just a nice kid. And she wants to learn, | :21:12. | :21:15.
which is one of the nice things. Everybody wants to help her. On the | :21:16. | :21:21.
pitch, she has got power, she has got pace. I think she needs to be | :21:22. | :21:28.
more clinical and I think. But in front of a, she wants to get more | :21:29. | :21:34.
goals. She wants to get in good goal-scoring positions. -- in front | :21:35. | :21:38.
of goal. You cannot teach that grit and determination. That is why, | :21:39. | :21:44.
something like this, cup finals, she played well on previous occasions, | :21:45. | :21:47.
against you guys are! She puts on a show. And today she needs to go out | :21:48. | :21:53.
and really show who Danielle Carter is, and what she can do. She was | :21:54. | :21:58.
outstanding couple of years ago, in the MK Dons final, sorry, Rachel, | :21:59. | :22:06.
against Everton! They have got an injury today to Fahey, so how do you | :22:07. | :22:12.
think Carter will get on? Yes, Millie Bright playing out of | :22:13. | :22:15.
position, I think Danielle Carter's eyes will have lit up when they saw | :22:16. | :22:20.
that Millie Bright was playing out of position. The same for the front | :22:21. | :22:23.
three of Arsenal as a whole, I think. It will give them an extra | :22:24. | :22:28.
boost, if they needed it. That kind of matchup would really favour | :22:29. | :22:33.
Danielle Carter, with respect to the others. We think there will be about | :22:34. | :22:40.
35,000 or so people at Wembley Stadium today. It is weird seeing | :22:41. | :22:44.
Arsenal in a cup final and potentially being the underdogs. So | :22:45. | :22:51.
many times after the last couple of decades, we have expected you lot, | :22:52. | :22:55.
Rachel Yankey, to walk over the opposition. Are they underdogs | :22:56. | :23:00.
today? I think they are, yes, on form. Arsenal have not quite | :23:01. | :23:05.
clicked. I think there is nothing better than a cup final to change | :23:06. | :23:09.
things around. The Arsenal players, maybe this is the little bit of | :23:10. | :23:14.
pressure which... And it is pressure, every cup final, people | :23:15. | :23:17.
have expected us to win. That pressure is now on Chelsea, so let's | :23:18. | :23:22.
see how they handle it. Absolutely fabulous. The teams are about to | :23:23. | :23:26.
walk out at, which are stadium. Before they do, here are a couple of | :23:27. | :23:31.
good luck messages from familiar faces. Good luck, Arsenal Ladies, | :23:32. | :23:38.
hope you can finish the job of and hopefully come back with the cup. | :23:39. | :23:47.
I'm going to watch closely. So, let them give us a lot of enjoyment. | :23:48. | :23:54.
Welcome to our coverage. We are all set for the 2016 SSE Women's Fa Cup | :23:55. | :24:03.
Final. To talk us through it, Sue Smith, twice a cup finalist with | :24:04. | :24:08.
Leeds, and Jonathan Pearce. Thank you very much. Wembley in the | :24:09. | :24:15.
sunshine, always a special. It has been billed as the biggest women's | :24:16. | :24:19.
cup final ever. It started with the preliminary round in September, | :24:20. | :24:27.
Redcar winning. And it culminates here today, a record crowd. Here | :24:28. | :24:38.
they come. Blue and red, Arsenal, the greatest side in the history of | :24:39. | :24:43.
the competition. Their 15th final, they have lost just one. Chelsea, | :24:44. | :24:48.
the holders. Beat Arsenal in the league just 23 days ago. Sue, | :24:49. | :24:53.
Arsenal will have to be much improved from that day? They will, | :24:54. | :24:59.
but they have changed their team, and for me, for the better. They | :25:00. | :25:03.
have got a lot of experience in the line-up. That makes such a | :25:04. | :25:06.
difference. But Chelsea were great on that day, and a very good, | :25:07. | :25:16.
quality team, going forward. The presentation party are down there | :25:17. | :25:23.
ready to meet the players. The FA chair of the women's committee, and | :25:24. | :25:29.
the vice-chair, and the director of marketing for the sponsors of this | :25:30. | :25:35.
competition, SSE. And there we are seeing a legend in the women's game, | :25:36. | :25:41.
Kelly Smith. An FA Cup winner on four occasions. She has scored six | :25:42. | :25:46.
goals in finals of the FA Cup. And a proud occasion as well. Alex Scott | :25:47. | :25:54.
leading the party down the Arsenal team. What a great day for Alex as | :25:55. | :26:01.
well. It really is a great day for Alex. Again, another experienced | :26:02. | :26:06.
player, who has played in finals, and she will be looking after the | :26:07. | :26:12.
players on and off the pitch. It is important for those younger players | :26:13. | :26:14.
who have not experienced anything like this, they need a hand around | :26:15. | :26:20.
the shoulder, to tell them, it is just a game of football. Yet it is a | :26:21. | :26:25.
big occasion, but relax and go out and do your thing. A smile from the | :26:26. | :26:32.
Arsenal captain. Pedro Martinez Losa, who did well at Rayo | :26:33. | :26:37.
Vallecano, winning the Spanish cup as manager there. He has had a great | :26:38. | :26:43.
record against Chelsea since coming to Arsenal, I can tell you. We saw a | :26:44. | :26:49.
brief clumps of the referee there. As the Chelsea captain, Katie | :26:50. | :26:55.
Chapman, walks the officials down her line of players. Ji So Yun, who | :26:56. | :27:02.
scored the winner last year. She scored a belter against Manchester | :27:03. | :27:09.
City in the semifinal to take that game into extra time. She could be | :27:10. | :27:16.
absolutely kid today. I think Ji will be key, the whole front four | :27:17. | :27:22.
will be key. Fran Kirby as well. But Ji, she likes to get on the ball and | :27:23. | :27:25.
make things happen and find those front three. Arsenal will really | :27:26. | :27:32.
need to watch her for the entire 90 minutes, because she can do | :27:33. | :27:35.
something magic. Chelsea looking to be the fifth club to win | :27:36. | :27:40.
back-to-back trophies. They are wearing the new Chelsea kit today. | :27:41. | :27:48.
We will hear the anthem... So important a day, for so many | :27:49. | :28:42.
reasons, for so many people. The referee, Sarah Garratt, says it is a | :28:43. | :28:46.
dream come true for her. Has not quite sunk in properly that surely | :28:47. | :28:53.
taking charge of the FA Cup Final. There should be no nerves amongst | :28:54. | :28:59.
some senior players out there. Katie Chapman, seven times a winner of the | :29:00. | :29:04.
FA Cup. Arsenal, jittery at the back in the league defeat against the | :29:05. | :29:09.
Blues last month. And they've made changes. The legendary Kelly Smith, | :29:10. | :29:16.
who had a real impact as a sub in that game, starts. 25 FA Cup winning | :29:17. | :29:26.
medals in that line-up. The German Henning makes her debut in this | :29:27. | :29:29.
competition. Casey Stoney, who won it with Chelsea. Only five survive | :29:30. | :29:41.
from the 2014 cup final. Chelsea have two changes from the win at | :29:42. | :29:47.
Borehamwood recently. Portuguese international Borges is preferred to | :29:48. | :29:52.
Claire Rafferty for tactical reasons. Fran Kirby leading the line | :29:53. | :30:02.
after that great semifinal win over Manchester City. Eight of that team | :30:03. | :30:06.
started last season's final. Both teams are full internationals | :30:07. | :30:18.
and qualities, which are set up for a good final. The two Graco captains | :30:19. | :30:24.
know each other well, part of the England team in the World Cup | :30:25. | :30:29.
finals. -- the two captains. I wonder if this is the key player, | :30:30. | :30:33.
she made a real difference when she came on in the league game, they | :30:34. | :30:38.
suddenly had creativity having had none before. Legend is used to | :30:39. | :30:43.
easily but she definitely is one. The fact that she has quick players | :30:44. | :30:47.
either side of that will help because she will get on the ball and | :30:48. | :30:51.
find them, get into the box and she is clinical and has that calm finish | :30:52. | :30:57.
about her. I mention her experience, it is so important on occasions like | :30:58. | :31:02.
this. It looks as if Arsenal will be lining up to the right-hand side. | :31:03. | :31:10.
Such an experienced player in Fara Williams, the most experienced | :31:11. | :31:15.
England international ever. Ji, who scored here last season in the | :31:16. | :31:22.
final. She had been in splendid form with six goals already in seven | :31:23. | :31:28.
games for Chelsea this season. Sarah Garratt, the referee, checks with | :31:29. | :31:36.
her assistance. Clouds have puffed up above us but the players are in | :31:37. | :31:41.
shade. Arsenal in their famous red and white will kick off to get the | :31:42. | :31:49.
2016 SSE Women's FA Cup final underway. | :31:50. | :31:56.
Pressing on the edge of the area. They have to go at Chelsea from the | :31:57. | :32:03.
start, to get on the front foot because if they allow them to get | :32:04. | :32:06.
into a rhythm, it will be Chelsea's day. I think Arsenal know that and | :32:07. | :32:13.
you can see it from the attacking line-up. If Chelsea get the first | :32:14. | :32:16.
goal, they might be unstoppable. Kelly Smith is leading from the | :32:17. | :32:22.
front. Carter with the effort from the mistake. Great effort from Dan | :32:23. | :32:30.
Carter. To have the confidence so early, Millie Bright could not | :32:31. | :32:34.
control it and straight to she was there. It was not far away. A good | :32:35. | :32:41.
start from Arsenal. Dan Carter turned 23 next Wednesday. She has | :32:42. | :32:46.
scored three goals in this competition this season, a couple in | :32:47. | :32:50.
the semifinal against Sunderland and one against Notts County. Chasing | :32:51. | :33:01.
after it is Kelly Smith. She is 37 now, she also works on the coaching | :33:02. | :33:05.
side the state at Arsenal, back for her third spell. -- on the coaching | :33:06. | :33:17.
side these days. That is gathered by the Chelsea goalkeeper, the very | :33:18. | :33:21.
capable Swedish international, Hedvig Lindahl. There is a Dutch | :33:22. | :33:27.
international at the other end in Sari van Veenendaal. I think that is | :33:28. | :33:32.
something that has really improved in the women's game, the standard of | :33:33. | :33:39.
goalkeeping in the WSL. Chelsea have won all seven games this season, | :33:40. | :33:46.
scoring 26 goals. Emma Hayes has 13 bang in form. A very approachable | :33:47. | :33:53.
and likeable manager -- has her team in form. Chelsea come across as a | :33:54. | :34:02.
family unit. Coming down the left and forcing a corner off Hannah | :34:03. | :34:06.
Blundell who has had a very good season so far. A positive start for | :34:07. | :34:18.
Arsenal. Stoney is up from the back. Three times and FA Cup winner, once | :34:19. | :34:26.
with Arsenal, then Chelsea, and then back at Arsenal two seasons ago. | :34:27. | :34:33.
That was curled in by Williams who will take most of the set pieces. | :34:34. | :34:39.
Mitchell, she was sent off early in the competition. Down the right-hand | :34:40. | :34:47.
side, looking for Casey Stoney popping up in the right-wing | :34:48. | :34:53.
position. It was her birthday yesterday, she turned 34. She won't | :34:54. | :34:59.
be happy about you saying that! She was telling everybody she is 24! | :35:00. | :35:04.
This was the chance from Dan Carter. Arsenal have started brightly, | :35:05. | :35:08.
especially Carter, always looking to take on the full-back and that is | :35:09. | :35:13.
what they need to do. Scott missed did that. Eight of eight cup winner. | :35:14. | :35:21.
There is some history at that, with so many of these players swapping | :35:22. | :35:26.
sides over the years. Gemma Davison won the cup four times with Arsenal. | :35:27. | :35:36.
Bright, makeshift centre-back at the moment because far he is out, but | :35:37. | :35:40.
she has performed very well in there and played every minute of the | :35:41. | :35:47.
season so far -- Niamh Fahey. She slots in at centre-back very well, | :35:48. | :35:52.
strong and physical and good in the tackle. Paul Green, the Chelsea | :35:53. | :35:57.
assistant manager, new her from Doncaster, as did U. I do and she | :35:58. | :36:06.
has improved so much since then. Her all-round passing and her game, | :36:07. | :36:10.
being around good players at Chelsea on a daily basis. And next up for | :36:11. | :36:15.
Doncaster is Arsenal in the league. I'm taking notes! Kirby was offside. | :36:16. | :36:23.
That was a lovely ball through, Estcourt by the offside flag. Borges | :36:24. | :36:30.
getting forward from full-back -- just caught. That was a bad call, | :36:31. | :36:37.
she was onside. That is what Fran Kirby can do. She held the run well. | :36:38. | :36:47.
And she was onside. 15 goals in 18 games for Chelsea, carrying on the | :36:48. | :36:52.
scoring when she left off at Reading. Two years ago she was the | :36:53. | :36:56.
highest scoring player in English women's football, | :36:57. | :37:05.
second division with red ink. They have since been promoted. Lindahl | :37:06. | :37:12.
came out quickly, good vision from Jordan Nobbs in midfield. | :37:13. | :37:17.
She will like this pitch because she had such energy, getting from box to | :37:18. | :37:25.
box so readily. They call her the Energizer Bunny and that's exactly | :37:26. | :37:29.
what she's like. She will get a box to box. I can't remember her dad | :37:30. | :37:35.
doing that! I'm sure he will be watching. He was a player around the | :37:36. | :37:41.
north-east of England for many years with the likes of Hartlepool. One | :37:42. | :37:48.
game against Darlington I think it was, he lost six teeth in a | :37:49. | :37:50.
challenge and barely flinched! And talking of fitness, will you be | :37:51. | :38:01.
fit for Doncaster? You are coming back from injury. Fingers crossed. | :38:02. | :38:08.
I'm back training now. They have had a very young bench up that! You | :38:09. | :38:22.
will, what, the Rebel -- treble it? I think so! I have to remember not | :38:23. | :38:29.
to tell you anything! That is a throw into Arsenal to be taken by | :38:30. | :38:33.
Emma Mitchell who seems to have been around for ever but is only 23. She | :38:34. | :38:39.
won the Scottish Cup a couple of times with Glasgow City. Katie | :38:40. | :38:44.
Chapman, she will be all over the pitch today, covers so much ground. | :38:45. | :38:55.
Twice a scorer in cup finals. Against Doncaster in 2002, an | :38:56. | :39:01.
absolute belter for Fulham. And she scored against Sunderland in 2009 | :39:02. | :39:03.
for Arsenal. Davison. Misplaces the and might | :39:04. | :39:17.
have a few confidence problems -- misplaces the pass. She has not | :39:18. | :39:25.
played since the league game between the two. It is difficult for Emma | :39:26. | :39:30.
Hayes because she had such a very good attacking front four and you | :39:31. | :39:34.
even look at the bench, Eni Aluko will be disappointed to be sitting | :39:35. | :39:39.
out, and I'm sure we will see her at some point. All good attacking | :39:40. | :39:47.
players. Good to say Niamh Fahey on the bench for Chelsea after her | :39:48. | :39:51.
fitness problems. That was cleared away by Flaherty. Another | :39:52. | :39:59.
international regular this season. Another former winner of the | :40:00. | :40:02.
competition, again, for Arsenal. Millie Bright looks to swing it | :40:03. | :40:17.
away. A good chase, Karen Carney and Alex Scott, England team-mates. | :40:18. | :40:24.
Henning, German international, this is her FA Cup debut. She has played | :40:25. | :40:28.
just a couple of games since joining from Paris Saint-Germain. I watched | :40:29. | :40:35.
the game against Birmingham where Stoney and Henning played as a | :40:36. | :40:39.
centre-half partnership and they played well together. She has huge | :40:40. | :40:42.
experience, winning the Champions League three times with Wolfsburg. | :40:43. | :40:52.
Strong challenge. That really was determination from Millie Bright on | :40:53. | :40:57.
Kelly Smith. She might be a legend, but you're not getting any freedom | :40:58. | :41:05.
on this pitch, that was the message. It just ran away from her. Millie | :41:06. | :41:10.
Bright assist seen the opportunity to get in a good, physical challenge | :41:11. | :41:15.
and that is exactly what she will do. She does not care if she is a | :41:16. | :41:19.
legend, this is a game of football and she is there to win the ball. | :41:20. | :41:25.
Half a chance here for Chelsea to create with Drew Spence. | :41:26. | :41:34.
Fara Williams again, just the sort of pitch for her to play on, | :41:35. | :41:39.
immaculate surface and she can pick out those long passes with made up | :41:40. | :41:45.
accuracy. Miscued by Millie Bright. And a corner on the right hand side. | :41:46. | :41:54.
Fara Williams I think we'll go across and take it. Karen Carney | :41:55. | :42:02.
trying to do some organisation. Oshoala will be a danger here. | :42:03. | :42:11.
It is going to be Kelly Smith taking it. Towards the far post. Very good | :42:12. | :42:20.
header away at the back by Gilly Flaherty. Free for Arsenal. 25 yards | :42:21. | :42:30.
out, maybe a bit more. That is a high foot. It is a free kick and | :42:31. | :42:35.
this is the range for Fara Williams or Kelly Smith. It could be Fara | :42:36. | :42:47.
Williams, part of the only team ever to beat Arsenal in an FA Cup final. | :42:48. | :42:54.
And runner up as well couple of times when she was at Charlton. | :42:55. | :43:01.
Playing against Chelsea, who she has supported since she was a young | :43:02. | :43:08.
girl, and played for. She pitched up and scored a hat-trick in her first | :43:09. | :43:17.
game. It will be Fara Williams. Driven. Too high. | :43:18. | :43:28.
She is a bit disappointed with herself, she normally gets those on | :43:29. | :43:34.
target to at least make the goalkeeper work but she has got | :43:35. | :43:38.
underneath the ball too much. Always rising. It is Chelsea who need to | :43:39. | :43:51.
settle down again. At the moment, in terms of possession, I think Arsenal | :43:52. | :43:55.
have the upper hand and certainly the way that Dan Carter started on | :43:56. | :43:59.
the left, they looked the more dangerous with 61% of possession | :44:00. | :44:08.
thus far. We only saw Henning went in the World Cup finals but we know | :44:09. | :44:13.
she is quick across the ground. She is such a good player, we said | :44:14. | :44:20.
legend, but in the draft for the women's game in America in 2009, she | :44:21. | :44:30.
was drafted second behind Marta, who is one of the all-time greats. That | :44:31. | :44:35.
is unbelievable and all credit to Kelly Smith for that because she is | :44:36. | :44:41.
such a valuable play, she can do things other players cannot and even | :44:42. | :44:44.
at 37 she is still one of the best players on the pitch. She didn't | :44:45. | :44:51.
play in the World Cup last summer. She was working for television. I | :44:52. | :44:58.
think you were drunk! LAUGHTER . | :44:59. | :45:09.
That very nearly bounced kindly for Arsenal. The shot from range there | :45:10. | :45:28.
from the Spanish international. I think Arsenal have really surprised | :45:29. | :45:33.
to Chelsea with their tactics, there are formation, probably their | :45:34. | :45:35.
personnel as well. They have started really high up the pitch. Every time | :45:36. | :45:41.
Chelsea get the ball, you can seemm one or two Arsenal players around | :45:42. | :45:45.
them. When they get the ball, they are attacking at such pace. | :45:46. | :46:01.
Three spells at the club, and has won 27 trophies in total. That | :46:02. | :46:17.
reality TV Survival Mission series recently, she is farrier Atletico | :46:18. | :46:22.
and fit, Alex Scott. She is in her 30s but she has kept herself so very | :46:23. | :46:29.
fit. -- she is very athletic and fit. I know you are a fan of Hannah | :46:30. | :46:39.
Blundell. She has been excellent this season, all the games I have | :46:40. | :46:43.
watched. Defensively solid, always seems to be in the right position, | :46:44. | :46:47.
even though she is only a young player. She is also good the other | :46:48. | :46:53.
way, going forward, creating those overlaps, full of energy. South | :46:54. | :46:58.
Coast girl, from Eastbourne. Played in the youth set up at Charlton. | :46:59. | :47:06.
England under 20 international. She has been in the senior squad once as | :47:07. | :47:08.
well. I think Fara Williams, she is just | :47:09. | :47:23.
sitting that little bit deeper, to play those passes but also, to stop | :47:24. | :47:30.
Ji from getting on the ball. If Farah can prevent that, it will stop | :47:31. | :47:36.
Chelsea from getting forward. That was a decent challenge by Emma | :47:37. | :47:41.
Mitchell. She will put this out of play. Did not see anything wrong | :47:42. | :47:47.
with the tackle myself. Sue? I could not see anything. We will get a | :47:48. | :47:52.
better look now. Looks like she catches her Achilles. No intent. | :47:53. | :48:04.
Probably saw one for Jemma. -- probably a painful one. | :48:05. | :48:47.
Danielle Carter goes for gold, and scores! The opening goal of the 2016 | :48:48. | :48:58.
women's FA Cup Final, and Arsenal take the lead! It was a fantastic | :48:59. | :49:04.
goal! What a fantastic goal from Dan Carter. From the start, she has been | :49:05. | :49:09.
the sport to watch. Every time she gets the ball, she's looking to | :49:10. | :49:12.
drive at the defence and make something happen. This is the | :49:13. | :49:16.
benefit of having a right footer on the left wing. She is turning Hannah | :49:17. | :49:22.
Blundell inside and out and she just gets a yard of space. Straightaway, | :49:23. | :49:28.
she's looking, can I beat the defender? And can I go and put it in | :49:29. | :49:36.
the top corner?! And that's exactly what she did. Fantastic so low as | :49:37. | :49:40.
from Dan Carter, and that's exactly what Arsenal needed to do. She has a | :49:41. | :49:43.
very good scoring record against Chelsea. That's her sixth goal | :49:44. | :49:50.
against them in 17 meetings now. Scored in the cup against them last | :49:51. | :49:56.
year, and now has one in the final. To be honest, the only way we could | :49:57. | :49:59.
see Arsenal winning this on current form was to get off to this sort of | :50:00. | :50:04.
start - and they have done. They are so proud of their tradition in this | :50:05. | :50:09.
competition. 13 times winners, winning eight of the last 12 finals. | :50:10. | :50:20.
And they are ahead here. Here's Blondel, won back again by Mitchell. | :50:21. | :50:30.
Back to the goalkeeper. I don't think she stood a chance, goalkeeper | :50:31. | :50:31.
Lindahl, with that shot. Just 23 days ago, Arsenal look short | :50:32. | :50:52.
of confidence, they were shaky, brittle. And now... The way they | :50:53. | :51:01.
have started this game is excellent. Very high pressure, and the keys | :51:02. | :51:07.
players that we spoke about before the game are really making things | :51:08. | :51:12.
happen for them. Chelsea just need to get a grip on the game. The | :51:13. | :51:18.
defence, midfield and forward line for Chelsea are just so far apart. | :51:19. | :51:23.
Need to get closer together. Let me put this into some sort of context. | :51:24. | :51:30.
Chelsea have won their last nine domestic matches in all | :51:31. | :51:38.
competitions. Fran Kirby! It is still in play... Incomes the cross | :51:39. | :51:47.
from Blondel. This time the goalkeeper did come. The flag is | :51:48. | :51:55.
raised. The flag raised against Drew Spence, I think. But this is what | :51:56. | :52:01.
can happen. She is onside, I think that's a good call from the Lions | :52:02. | :52:07.
person. Fran Kirby is trying to get it through the goalkeeper's legs. | :52:08. | :52:13.
Could she maybe go across? I think there were players coming in. She | :52:14. | :52:21.
thinks there was a handball. Well, it bounced up and nearly hit Henning | :52:22. | :52:25.
on the arm. I don't know whether there was contact. Difficult to see | :52:26. | :52:31.
in the glare of the sun down there by the post. I think Fran Kirby, | :52:32. | :52:36.
because the goalkeeper came and went back, should have been more decisive | :52:37. | :52:42.
and maybe gone across goal, what do you think, Sue? I totally agree. | :52:43. | :52:46.
Sometimes when you have so much time, you probably change your mind. | :52:47. | :52:51.
You can see here, I don't think it hit her hand, I think she pulled it | :52:52. | :53:01.
away at the last minute. It is a bit risky putting your hand up in the | :53:02. | :53:07.
penalty area. Now, Williams to Nobbs. Giving herself some space on | :53:08. | :53:15.
that far side is Oshoala. Lovely ball into the penalty area... | :53:16. | :53:20.
Mirabeau brilliant challenge by Katie Chapman Chelsea. Arsenal come | :53:21. | :53:23.
again. Mirabeau lovely bit of play from | :53:24. | :53:37.
Arsenal. What a backheel there. Kelly Smith was just about to pull | :53:38. | :53:42.
the trigger, and what a tackle from Chapman. It was a nice move, | :53:43. | :53:47.
initially from Oshoala on the right-hand side, playing it through | :53:48. | :53:52.
to Losada and then that lovely backheel to Kelly Smith. Losada, the | :53:53. | :54:02.
former Barcelona sport. She won the cup in Spain with them on three | :54:03. | :54:12.
occasions. Oshoala came into the Spotlight at the World U20s for | :54:13. | :54:19.
Nigeria, scoring seven goals in five games, top scorer and best player in | :54:20. | :54:24.
that competition. She was a star at the 2014 African Chanting Chips as | :54:25. | :54:29.
well. Halfway through the first half, Arsenal leading. -- African | :54:30. | :54:33.
Championships. I think it is fair to say, Sue, the | :54:34. | :54:50.
women's game in England is getting bigger all the time. We have said it | :54:51. | :54:54.
before, and we will keep saying it. It is important that the women and | :54:55. | :55:02.
the clubs realise they are nowhere near where they want to be yet | :55:03. | :55:06.
dazzled as in making progress. Absolutely. If you look back ten | :55:07. | :55:12.
years ago, it has improved so much. The fact that we are here at | :55:13. | :55:15.
Wembley, with potentially 35,000 people watching, it is live on the | :55:16. | :55:20.
BBC, it is everything that you want as a female footballer. I look at | :55:21. | :55:26.
the benches of both teams - top quality internationals sitting on | :55:27. | :55:29.
the bench. People want to come over here and play in the Women's Super | :55:30. | :55:34.
League now Cheruiyot is such a good standard. And internationally we are | :55:35. | :55:46.
doing well as well. This is a far cry from the first ever women's FA | :55:47. | :55:51.
Cup Final, in 1971, Southampton won it, beating what is now Kilmarnock | :55:52. | :55:59.
ladies. It was at a sports centre in Crystal Palace. In recent years, the | :56:00. | :56:04.
women's game has come under the auspices of the Football | :56:05. | :56:10.
Association. Real efforts are being made, and crucially, more money has | :56:11. | :56:14.
been thrown at it. Which makes a big difference, which allows the girls | :56:15. | :56:17.
to train full-time. Professional players, makes the standard better. | :56:18. | :56:22.
What a goal this was a separate the sides. It is a fantastic goal, | :56:23. | :56:29.
really, really quick feet. She is right-footed, predominantly. Once | :56:30. | :56:35.
she gets into the area and sees the goal, top corner, and I agree with | :56:36. | :56:39.
you come I don't think the goalkeeper could do anything about | :56:40. | :56:45.
that. She made her debut at 16. Trying to win her 10th trophy as an | :56:46. | :56:54.
Arsenal sport. -- as an Arsenal player. | :56:55. | :57:21.
She is playing well at the moment, Henning, at the back for Arsenal. | :57:22. | :57:29.
Just looking at Arsenal, defensively, it looks like they have | :57:30. | :57:34.
got a 4-1-4-1, with Fara Williams sitting just in front of the | :57:35. | :57:38.
defence. But when they go forward, it is like they have got five | :57:39. | :57:41.
attacking, with both Losada and Jordan Nobbs helping out the front | :57:42. | :57:45.
three. And I think that's causing Chelsea are a lot of problems. I | :57:46. | :57:50.
don't think expected that. Kelly Smith playing for the foul. She | :57:51. | :57:52.
anticipated the challenge. She will be content that that | :57:53. | :58:16.
Arsenal free kick has largely been wasted. Having a decent final, is | :58:17. | :58:32.
Vicky Losada. There is manager Pedro Martinez Losa. Went out to America | :58:33. | :58:39.
to manage the Western New York Flash team over there. I think that is | :58:40. | :58:45.
where Pedro actually coached Vicky Losada. That's right. But it is | :58:46. | :58:54.
Chelsea causing the danger here now. Ji look opportunity for the | :58:55. | :58:58.
equaliser! It fell to the South Korean international. Good movement | :58:59. | :59:05.
from both players here. Gemma Davison wants to dribble at players. | :59:06. | :59:11.
Tries to just curl it with the outside of her boot. Just would not | :59:12. | :59:21.
get hold of it like she wanted to. But they show danger when they go | :59:22. | :59:25.
forward, with the quality they've got, Chelsea. Two times a cup winner | :59:26. | :59:36.
in Japanese football, Ji, who is known back in South Korea as the | :59:37. | :59:43.
Korean Messi. I think if you are of a certain height and you play just | :59:44. | :59:47.
behind the striker, you would be known in any country as the | :59:48. | :59:50.
something message and were you ever known as the scales Messi?! -- as | :59:51. | :00:02.
the something Messi. Were you ever known as the Scouse Messi?! | :00:03. | :00:16.
Quick throw, that's good vision from the Swedish international, who had a | :00:17. | :00:21.
good World Cup last summer. She is now England's record cap | :00:22. | :00:39.
holder. But for about seven years she was homeless. It just shows how | :00:40. | :00:45.
football has shaped her and helped her get out of that unfortunate | :00:46. | :00:49.
position she was in and now she does a lot for the charity which is | :00:50. | :00:54.
great. She is an ambassador for the homeless charity which is something, | :00:55. | :01:01.
she is a fantastic role model. Most capped England player and I am sure | :01:02. | :01:05.
there are more to come. Arsenal have played them all | :01:06. | :01:15.
controlled football. Davison could not get on the ball, | :01:16. | :01:25.
that is a concern, they haven't been able to get their playmakers on the | :01:26. | :01:32.
ball but this is Oshoala. Gilly Flaherty can get across. That is a | :01:33. | :01:42.
goal kick. Ever present in this season's cup run, Gilly Flaherty. | :01:43. | :01:50.
A very good crowd again. So important for the women's game that | :01:51. | :01:58.
the FA Cup final is staged at Wembley. They hope this will be the | :01:59. | :02:02.
biggest crowd of them all, beating last season's mark of 30,710. The | :02:03. | :02:16.
fact that we have a goal here maintains the history that there has | :02:17. | :02:20.
never been a 0-0 in a Women's FA Cup final. Good ball down the line. | :02:21. | :02:30.
Chapman. Looking for Hannah Blundell. The final ball has let her | :02:31. | :02:35.
down. Half an hour played, Arsenal | :02:36. | :02:47.
leading, Chelsea have had a couple of good chances, Kirby was one and | :02:48. | :02:54.
one -- one-on-one. Ji can change the game in a blink of an eye. Good | :02:55. | :03:04.
challenge. Jordan Nobbs. Looking for Oshoala. She has forced the throw | :03:05. | :03:14.
in, very strong, only 21. Last season at Liverpool she was trying | :03:15. | :03:20.
to find her feet in European football. She is strong now. Very | :03:21. | :03:24.
strong and quick. Very unpredictable. Sometimes it is her | :03:25. | :03:36.
final ball that lets her down. She had success with Nigeria at youth | :03:37. | :03:42.
level, she is now a member of the Order Of Niger. It is only now that | :03:43. | :03:52.
the women's game in England is being recognised. | :03:53. | :04:09.
Millie Bright. A chance for Drew Spence. Nothing came of it. A poor | :04:10. | :04:25.
clearance by Stoney. They were looking for the pace of Fran Kirby, | :04:26. | :04:32.
another mini Messi, called that by Mark Sampson. Yes, number ten, | :04:33. | :04:38.
similar size! I think the key to beating Chelsea is that you have to | :04:39. | :04:43.
try to win the midfield because they feed the front four and Arsenal are | :04:44. | :04:48.
winning it, preventing. The goalkeeper had to come out. She took | :04:49. | :04:52.
a chance. She is probably aware of the pace of | :04:53. | :05:08.
Oshoala, just got the wrong side. Had she touched it with her hand it | :05:09. | :05:12.
would have been curtains for her. Ji, dropping deep to see something | :05:13. | :05:35.
of the ball. Smith. Lovely turn. So often they have not been able to | :05:36. | :05:44.
clear their half, Chelsea. I think that is down to Arsenal's workrate. | :05:45. | :05:55.
The big occasion, big pitch. You wonder if Arsenal might pay for the | :05:56. | :06:03.
first half exertions. Played back by Stoney. Karen Carney just had a word | :06:04. | :06:09.
with the referee, I think she felt she was pulled back. Another England | :06:10. | :06:21.
star, Karen Carney. She had suffered from periods of depression and dark | :06:22. | :06:27.
period in her life. That is a lovely ball. Might get a shot in, switches | :06:28. | :06:32.
play. That is a lovely switch from Gemma | :06:33. | :06:53.
Davison. Blundell gets forward well as a full-back, I don't know if it | :06:54. | :06:56.
was a Croscombe shot, but in the end it wasn't anything -- Croscombe | :06:57. | :07:02.
shot. Chelsea are just lacking that bit of quality. | :07:03. | :07:06.
Carter. Towards Smith. Ana Borges got it away. And Katie Chapman doing | :07:07. | :07:19.
what she does so well, snapping and snarling. Carter. | :07:20. | :07:30.
Looking for Losada, who has got forward well. She has got further | :07:31. | :07:42.
forward, quicker, than she did in the league game between the teams | :07:43. | :07:45.
and Arsenal have moved the ball significantly quicker than three | :07:46. | :07:47.
weeks ago. A much improved Arsenal display | :07:48. | :08:02.
today. It really is, energy all over the pitch. I think he is picked the | :08:03. | :08:05.
right team and seems to have the right tactics. And it is working for | :08:06. | :08:13.
them. It doesn't help when you have so many good players to try to | :08:14. | :08:19.
manage. That has been his problem. Quality players on the bench, it is | :08:20. | :08:24.
a squad rotation and you have to buy into that and it is difficult for | :08:25. | :08:28.
players because you don't want to sit on the bench. | :08:29. | :08:36.
Here is a chance for Carney. Try to pull it back and Spence! Shot over | :08:37. | :08:44.
from Drew Spence. Better from Chelsea. They managed to | :08:45. | :09:02.
get it to Karen Carney who played it back to lose friends. -- Drew | :09:03. | :09:11.
Spence. She just couldn't keep shot down. She scored against Villa in | :09:12. | :09:16.
the quarterfinal. I just wonder if Chelsea have up problem with Gilly | :09:17. | :09:23.
Flaherty. She seems to be limping. Stoney. I think she's OK. | :09:24. | :09:33.
Carter. It came off her last, unlucky, it was a lovely, direct | :09:34. | :09:45.
run. I think Gilly Flaherty had a problem, she is down in the penalty | :09:46. | :09:53.
area. This does not look good. That would be a real loss to Chelsea if | :09:54. | :09:57.
she had to go off. That was unlucky for Dan Carter. She was trying to | :09:58. | :10:03.
get into the box, because if you do that, there is a chance of a penalty | :10:04. | :10:08.
all creating or scoring like she did earlier Ulster this is worrying. | :10:09. | :10:12.
Left ankle may be. Emma Hayes is talking to her | :10:13. | :10:21.
players, the experienced Katie Chapman. They do have name -- Niamh | :10:22. | :10:32.
Fahey on the bench. She has been out injured. She has only completed a | :10:33. | :10:37.
few training sessions this week. Whether she is match fit, I don't | :10:38. | :10:41.
know, but if there is a problem they have a fantastic replacement. It | :10:42. | :10:46.
would be a real shame to see Gilly Flaherty going off. A top player who | :10:47. | :10:51.
leads by example from the back. She seemed to be in trouble for four or | :10:52. | :10:58.
five minutes before then. Limping a little bit. Was this where she got | :10:59. | :11:04.
hurt? She was grimacing. There was not any | :11:05. | :11:16.
twisting so whether it was just contact... | :11:17. | :11:25.
I think she is going to come back on. | :11:26. | :11:35.
Here she comes. Made her full debut for England in October and has | :11:36. | :11:49.
stayed in the team since. She was at the Millwall Academy and Arsenal, I | :11:50. | :11:55.
think for 11 years, part of that fantastic team that won beam | :11:56. | :12:00.
quadruple. A lot of players have changed their allegiances. Will that | :12:01. | :12:06.
continue to happen as the game gets more professional and advanced? I | :12:07. | :12:12.
think so. You can see it happening already. I suppose it is just if you | :12:13. | :12:19.
feel you can develop your game better at a particular club, knew | :12:20. | :12:22.
would go there to make yourself a better player. The cross from | :12:23. | :12:28.
Oshoala comes off Flaherty and that is a corner to Arsenal. When the | :12:29. | :12:36.
players were together and getting a drink, I think it must be fairly | :12:37. | :12:43.
warm at its site but it is actually perishing where we are! -- at pitch | :12:44. | :12:50.
side. I might have to borrow your coat but it could be a tight fit! | :12:51. | :13:03.
There will be a little bit of stoppage time, this is a good run | :13:04. | :13:10.
from Borges. And who chased her back? 37 years of age, Kelly Smith. | :13:11. | :13:20.
Losada. Casey Stoney. Carter, the | :13:21. | :13:36.
goal-scorer. It will come back to her. She is sliding into pressurised | :13:37. | :13:42.
Millie Bright whose acclaimed drops to Fara Williams. Smith, lovely | :13:43. | :13:51.
turn, Oshoala! Sheet scuffed it. A big opportunity for Arsenal to go in | :13:52. | :13:56.
at 2-0 up. That would have been a long road back for Chelsea. Big John | :13:57. | :14:01.
is just before half-time, fantastic turn from Kelly Smith and she just | :14:02. | :14:07.
sees the run of Oshoala -- big chance. It is the end product | :14:08. | :14:12.
sometimes. That is a big chance for Arsenal will stop fantastic talent. | :14:13. | :14:19.
She was signed in the close season from Liverpool. She could not get | :14:20. | :14:28.
her feet right then. It remains 1-0. It was lovely play from Kelly Smith | :14:29. | :14:41.
who once played for Wembley Ladies. A chance for Carter. | :14:42. | :14:49.
She has been the liveliest forward in the game. She is high on | :14:50. | :14:55.
confidence, all the way through this half she has looked to get forward | :14:56. | :14:59.
and attack the Chelsea defence and she will shoot when she gets the | :15:00. | :15:04.
opportunity. A bit of a nudge on Kirby. From Casey Stoney, looking | :15:05. | :15:11.
for a fourth FA Cup success, a couple of spells at Chelsea, she was | :15:12. | :15:17.
player-manager for a while. She is a very good coach as well as a player. | :15:18. | :15:23.
I am sure she will continue her path in women's football. | :15:24. | :15:30.
A lot of the players do augment their wages, working as coaches at | :15:31. | :15:36.
various clubs. This is that chance again from | :15:37. | :15:54.
Oshoala, and she completely scuffs it. She probably even had time to | :15:55. | :15:59.
take the goalkeeper on and just slot it. Good control by Dan Carter. | :16:00. | :16:07.
Spence, Kane... That the vision she has. She is | :16:08. | :16:40.
enjoying her football today, Fara Williams. She is, she is getting a | :16:41. | :16:48.
bit of space in front of the back four. Play the ball into space and | :16:49. | :16:51.
her forward players will get it. The linesperson there, who comes | :16:52. | :17:11.
from a refereeing family. Yes, indeed, Michael Oliver! You were | :17:12. | :17:16.
testing my knowledge, then, won't you? Yes. Knowledge, ten out of ten. | :17:17. | :17:26.
Hesitancy, though, lets you down! Trying to find my piece of paper | :17:27. | :17:30.
with it on! He is here today as well. Fran Kirby looking to the | :17:31. | :17:41.
referee for some protection. Chelsea centre forward tracking back into | :17:42. | :17:50.
her own half, being brought down by an Arsenal centre half. That has | :17:51. | :17:54.
happened a fair few times in the men's game over the years. Thoughts | :17:55. | :17:59.
on the first half, Sue? Arsenal deservedly going into the break with | :18:00. | :18:05.
their lead. They have set up for this game perfectly. They have | :18:06. | :18:10.
pressed, they have attacked really well and deserve it leaders so far. | :18:11. | :18:16.
There is the goal-scorer, who bent her superb shot into the far corner. | :18:17. | :18:22.
Chelsea have had a couple of efforts. Fran Kirby chose the wrong | :18:23. | :18:27.
option and Ji shot over. But Arsenal are worthy leaders here in the 2016 | :18:28. | :18:31.
SSE women's FA Cup Final. So, we are in familiar territory, | :18:32. | :18:48.
Arsenal leading an FA Cup Final. But perhaps in the context of this game, | :18:49. | :18:51.
with Chelsea being the favourites, having won every game this season, | :18:52. | :18:55.
was the fast start for Arsenal key for them? Definitely. It builds | :18:56. | :19:02.
confidence. Every time Arsenal have played in the league, they have been | :19:03. | :19:04.
a little bit shaky. People have questioned them. They needed to come | :19:05. | :19:09.
at Chelsea and really go for it early doors to get the confidence, | :19:10. | :19:13.
get the team feeling happy. And they have controlled the game. I think it | :19:14. | :19:18.
has been a good game. Both teams have done well. Do you think Chelsea | :19:19. | :19:22.
have been surprised by that start from Arsenal? Arsenal have been on | :19:23. | :19:26.
the front foot, not giving Chelsea any time on the ball, and I think | :19:27. | :19:31.
that has put Chelsea on the back foot. All Chelsea have been able to | :19:32. | :19:35.
do is often just pump it forwards, and there has been very few numbers | :19:36. | :19:39.
up front. We have seen Chelsea a lot this season - and they get numbers, | :19:40. | :19:48.
people like Ji and Fran Kirby, up, but they have not had the | :19:49. | :19:52.
opportunity to do that. And that is all credit to Arsenal. What a | :19:53. | :19:56.
quality goal it was from Dan Carter. Amazing, and that is what she can | :19:57. | :20:01.
do. She wants to run at you. Fantastic first touch. She is | :20:02. | :20:06.
right-footed, she wants to get it on her right foot and that is a | :20:07. | :20:10.
fantastic goal. I was going absolutely mental! Hannah Blundell | :20:11. | :20:16.
needs to get closer, Chelsea need to be telling her that, she needs to | :20:17. | :20:20.
show her on her left foot. I am surprised that they have let Dan | :20:21. | :20:24.
Carter come in on her right foot. That's worthy of winning any FA Cup | :20:25. | :20:31.
Final, I know it is early doors. I know, I hope it stays 1-0! That's | :20:32. | :20:37.
just quickly, sees it, and nothing that goalkeeper Lindahl could have | :20:38. | :20:42.
done. World-class goalkeeper, but that's all about the finish. You | :20:43. | :20:46.
working to point out that there was nothing the goalkeeper could have | :20:47. | :20:51.
done about that! Absolutely. She got on the line of the ball, and it was | :20:52. | :20:56.
just an absolute peach of a finish. Lindahl is about 6ft tall, one of | :20:57. | :21:00.
the tallest in the league, but that was a perfect finish. You were not | :21:01. | :21:04.
being wise after the event when you were talking about Blondel getting | :21:05. | :21:07.
closer to Carter. You were saying it right from the start. Yes, she | :21:08. | :21:13.
started the game, Dan Carter, everything she does is positive, she | :21:14. | :21:17.
wants to run at you. I just think that Hannah Blundell is too far away | :21:18. | :21:20.
and they are giving too much respect. If Dan Carter gets her | :21:21. | :21:25.
confidence, there she is, taking it on, winning a corner. So it was not | :21:26. | :21:30.
his prize when she cuts inside and schools that fantastic goal. But I | :21:31. | :21:37.
think Chelsea have to look to get closer, don't let Dan Carter run at | :21:38. | :21:40.
you. If she does, she can do things like that. There has got to be | :21:41. | :21:46.
communication across the back four as well. Hannah Blundell is dropping | :21:47. | :21:50.
off, so you cannot have the others in the back four dropping even | :21:51. | :21:55.
deeper. They have to get tight and not let Dan Carter turn. Or she has | :21:56. | :22:02.
got to drop off and almost double up. We did not see as much of the | :22:03. | :22:06.
Chelsea front four as we were expecting. But there was a chance | :22:07. | :22:11.
for Fran Kirby, and she was claiming handball afterwards, should it have | :22:12. | :22:18.
been? Not for me. It is so close and so quick, Henning does have her hand | :22:19. | :22:27.
up, but it's a good save. I don't know. But I'm going to be biased | :22:28. | :22:34.
anyway! That is what we have got you here for, Rachel, just to be biased! | :22:35. | :22:40.
It does. Her hand. In the context of it affecting the game? No, not at | :22:41. | :22:53.
all. -- it does. Chelsea did have a couple of chances. Some of their | :22:54. | :22:57.
star players perhaps not as much in the game as we expected, but the | :22:58. | :23:02.
chances were there for the likes of Ji? Yes, this was a good shot, but I | :23:03. | :23:08.
think that is why Gemma Davison has started. She can run at people. | :23:09. | :23:14.
She's got tricks, she's got power, she's got pace, and then she can set | :23:15. | :23:19.
people up like Ji So-Yun. She will be disappointed that she put that | :23:20. | :23:23.
one over the bar. She's better than that. Ji So-Yun is the little | :23:24. | :23:29.
magician for Chelsea. She can produce something out of nothing. | :23:30. | :23:33.
Arsenal need to watch that they do not get outnumbered, like they did | :23:34. | :23:37.
on that occasion, allowing Chelsea to get the shot away. And really, Ji | :23:38. | :23:43.
should have got that on target. But they need to be careful not to give | :23:44. | :23:46.
these world-class players time and space full stop that will be | :23:47. | :23:50.
something Pedro Martinez Losa will be looking at at half-time, in order | :23:51. | :23:55.
to stop Chelsea getting back into the game. There was another chance | :23:56. | :24:00.
for Arsenal, just before the break, they could have made it 2-0. Yes, it | :24:01. | :24:06.
was such good build-up play as well. Lovely ball by Kelly Smith, and she | :24:07. | :24:14.
just does not really connect with it, Oshoala. Arsenal were so | :24:15. | :24:19.
composed in the latter stages of this half. But shot, for a player of | :24:20. | :24:25.
her quality, on her right foot, she has what to do better than that. And | :24:26. | :24:30.
she will know that. She will be wanting to prove herself in the | :24:31. | :24:33.
second half. She should have scored. She should, she didn't. But I am | :24:34. | :24:38.
fascinated to know what Emma Hayes will be saying in the dressing room. | :24:39. | :24:42.
I think she will be saying, don't panic. In the last couple of years, | :24:43. | :24:48.
Chelsea have become then Tilly strong, the ability to cope with | :24:49. | :24:54.
pressure and to stick to game plans. They would have expected Arsenal to | :24:55. | :24:57.
come at them in the first 20 minutes. That will not be something | :24:58. | :25:04.
out of the blue. She will be saying, stick to the game plan, wear them | :25:05. | :25:07.
down, keep doing what we do well, which is passing the ball, using the | :25:08. | :25:11.
width, the likes of Karen Carney needs to get into the game a lot | :25:12. | :25:18.
more. But - stick to the game plan. So, it is 1-0 at half-time. We are | :25:19. | :25:22.
still in the early stages of the battle for the other major honour in | :25:23. | :25:26.
the women's game, which is the Women's Super League title. And at | :25:27. | :25:30.
the moment, it looks like a two horse race. | :25:31. | :25:44.
COMMENTATOR: They have had to be patient, but the goal has come for | :25:45. | :25:49.
the home side! Aluko! Lovely goal! Williamson is quick as well. What a | :25:50. | :26:06.
finish! Off the line, and Chelsea have what | :26:07. | :26:21.
surely is the decider, from Fran Kirby, again! And that settles it! | :26:22. | :26:35.
Three successive wins to start the season for Manchester City! | :26:36. | :26:49.
And a chance! Taken! It breaks for Stokes. Duggan! Picks out the bottom | :26:50. | :27:05.
corner. Lucy Bronze scores the opening goal! | :27:06. | :27:27.
Jennifer Beattie with a towering header! | :27:28. | :27:35.
Fran Kirby scores! And this will be a huge boost for Chelsea. | :27:36. | :27:47.
So, 100% starts in the league for Manchester City and Chelsea. City | :27:48. | :27:54.
have played one game more and have not conceded a single goal yet. | :27:55. | :28:00.
Chelsea have also won every game, and every cup game, Rachel. Two | :28:01. | :28:06.
horse race? I think so. I think Arsenal's performance today, in a | :28:07. | :28:10.
different context outside of the league, it is hoped to them in their | :28:11. | :28:14.
title aspirations as well. But as it stands, Manchester City and Chelsea, | :28:15. | :28:19.
it looks like those two. Both of them are playing fantastic football. | :28:20. | :28:23.
I think it could even go down to goal difference between the two of | :28:24. | :28:27.
them. You are out playing for Notts County on loan from Arsenal. Neither | :28:28. | :28:32.
of those asides in the title race at the moment, but you got your first | :28:33. | :28:36.
win a couple of weeks ago against Liverpool, and you played quite | :28:37. | :28:42.
apart in that game? Thank you! It was a good game and we were really | :28:43. | :28:46.
happy to get the win. In spells, we played really well and scored some | :28:47. | :28:51.
fantastic goals. Alan Wright's second goal was absolutely | :28:52. | :28:54.
brilliant. The team is doing really well, staff, players and fans have | :28:55. | :29:02.
been fantastic to me. How has it been with the stop start nature of | :29:03. | :29:06.
the campaign, bearing in mind there are so many international breaks and | :29:07. | :29:09.
everything to fit in around the summer league season? Yes, it is | :29:10. | :29:14.
difficult and forgot to get consistency. Especially with nine | :29:15. | :29:17.
teams, someone will always be missing out on any particular week. | :29:18. | :29:22.
Notts County played two games in one week, and then the FA Cup, and then | :29:23. | :29:26.
they were the ninth team. So this doubt on a bit of game time. But we | :29:27. | :29:30.
want to bounce back and hopefully win against Birmingham next week. | :29:31. | :29:34.
Good luck with that. It is an absolutely fascinating game coming | :29:35. | :29:39.
up on Thursday night. These Chelsea players host Manchester City in what | :29:40. | :29:43.
promises to be one of the games of the season in the Women's Super | :29:44. | :29:48.
League. If you can get down to Staines, it is a 730pm kick-off. And | :29:49. | :29:52.
you can also see the highlights when you get home on BBC Two. | :29:53. | :30:00.
And of course we will have extensive coverage of the last day of the | :30:01. | :30:04.
men's Premier League season tomorrow. | :30:05. | :30:23.
Right here next week it is the FA Cup final. | :30:24. | :31:10.
Back to the SSC Women's FA Cup final, it is Arsenal 1-1 Chelsea at | :31:11. | :31:18.
half-time and former Arsenal and England captain Faye White won nine | :31:19. | :31:23.
FA Cups. From Arsenal point view, that went pretty much perfectly for | :31:24. | :31:29.
Arsenal. You couldn't ask for much more. They started at a good tempo | :31:30. | :31:34.
and looked up for the occasion and Dan Carter with the brilliant goal, | :31:35. | :31:38.
has looked lively, willing to take players on. With Kelly Smith, she is | :31:39. | :31:45.
good at holding the ball up and finding space. They certainly at the | :31:46. | :31:50.
main part of the possession and it is encouraging. It was some goal | :31:51. | :31:55.
from Dan Carter, she is showing what she's all about. She was the way of | :31:56. | :32:03.
the year and she is showing why. -- Player of the Year. And laying on | :32:04. | :32:09.
the left allows her to cut in on the right foot but she looks up for the | :32:10. | :32:13.
occasion and is also getting back for her defensive responsibilities. | :32:14. | :32:18.
How should Arsenal approach the second half because you imagine | :32:19. | :32:22.
Chelsea will come out all guns blazing? They haven't really got | :32:23. | :32:26.
into the stride and Pedro will be making them aware of that. They | :32:27. | :32:30.
might not have wanted half-time to come. It is about keeping possession | :32:31. | :32:34.
and keep playing as well as they have done. But with Fran Kirby and | :32:35. | :32:40.
Gemma Davison and Karen Carney, they are frightening upfront. They will | :32:41. | :32:46.
have to be switched on and just keep the game going as it has. Thank you. | :32:47. | :32:53.
Faye White's Arsenal have the advantage here. Actor our commentary | :32:54. | :32:59.
team for the second half dizzy if Chelsea can make it two in a row at | :33:00. | :33:02.
Wembley -- back to. Once at the Jude coming on at | :33:03. | :33:12.
half-time, name Faugheen has been out for a while -- one substitute. | :33:13. | :33:19.
She has come on for Drew Spence which means Millie Bright moves into | :33:20. | :33:28.
midfield where she has been playing most of midfield. What do you make | :33:29. | :33:34.
of that? It needed to happen because Arsenal were overrunning the Chelsea | :33:35. | :33:39.
in the middle so you now have Bright and Chapman, two physical players. | :33:40. | :33:44.
Arsenal were putting Drew Spence under pressure and stopping her | :33:45. | :33:48.
playing so I think Millie Bright will come in and help Chelsea | :33:49. | :33:56.
regained the ball in midfield. Straight it is Flaherty. Up to the | :33:57. | :34:03.
edge of the area goes Losada and it is squirted away. Flaherty was under | :34:04. | :34:12.
pressure straightaway. Another free kick for Arsenal. That is a concern | :34:13. | :34:22.
bring it on your centre-half and if Jilly Flaherty -- Gilly Flaherty is | :34:23. | :34:29.
slightly injured... She is at the top of your picture. A free kick for | :34:30. | :34:36.
Arsenal. Fara Williams will take it. Kelly Smith standing offside at the | :34:37. | :34:41.
moment. That will go straight through and it is easy for somebody | :34:42. | :34:46.
who is played for her country over a hundred times, Hedvig Lindahl. | :34:47. | :34:58.
Chelsea need a quick response. Lovely turn by Losada who is having | :34:59. | :35:05.
a very good final. This is Oshoala. She goes through the gears and goes | :35:06. | :35:17.
for goal. Losada has been excellent. That was a lovely ball and Oshoala | :35:18. | :35:21.
will knock it past you with her pace. She could have played into | :35:22. | :35:26.
Kelly Smith but she went for goal. They showed their quality. | :35:27. | :35:33.
Brilliant, and expensive slip in the middle and it almost came through | :35:34. | :35:40.
and it will do now! Off the bar! Offside anyway, it didn't count. But | :35:41. | :35:46.
the fact that there was a slip inside the area let Smith nearly in | :35:47. | :35:53.
for a second for Arsenal. What a lovely bit of skill from Oshoala. | :35:54. | :35:58.
She decides to cross it this time. The slip allowed Kelly Smith... She | :35:59. | :36:04.
was offside. You wonder if she could have played it along the floor. It | :36:05. | :36:12.
would have been a free shot on target for Kelly. Another chance for | :36:13. | :36:18.
Arsenal. A couple at the start of the second half for Arsenal. The | :36:19. | :36:26.
lead is slender. This is Smith. The cross looking for Nobbs. She is | :36:27. | :36:32.
caught in the Continental cup final a couple of times last season -- she | :36:33. | :36:35.
scored. It is all Arsenal at the start of | :36:36. | :36:46.
the second half, as it was largely at the first. I think Losada will be | :36:47. | :36:52.
very close to winning player of the match. | :36:53. | :36:57.
The next goal in this game could have a massive effect. If Arsenal | :36:58. | :37:15.
get a second, you cannot see Chelsea coming back into it but if Chelsea | :37:16. | :37:19.
can equalise, with the options they have, you could see them going on to | :37:20. | :37:25.
win it. The fact that they have Eni Aluko on the bench as well. She will | :37:26. | :37:29.
come on with a point to prove. Stoney, such a good player over the | :37:30. | :37:41.
years. Still part of the England setup. Again, Arsenal looking to | :37:42. | :37:49.
send Oshoala away to take on Borges. It is obviously something they said | :37:50. | :37:54.
at half-time, to get it out wide right and run the defender. We saw | :37:55. | :38:03.
Ana Borges coming forward in the first half, the Chelsea left-back. | :38:04. | :38:11.
Defensively... Going forward she looks decent but defensively she | :38:12. | :38:17.
looks to be suspect against Oshoala. I'm surprised Claire Rafferty isn't | :38:18. | :38:22.
in there. This was brilliant skill from Oshoala. This is how | :38:23. | :38:27.
unpredictable she is, she can do something amazing and then obviously | :38:28. | :38:33.
missed, I wouldn't call it an easy chance, but she should have done | :38:34. | :38:38.
better with it. If she can be consistent, she can be top-class. | :38:39. | :38:49.
Here she is again. Smith. Carter waiting and she is onside. Back into | :38:50. | :38:55.
the middle and off the legs of the goalkeeper. She was looking for | :38:56. | :39:00.
Oshoala coming in. Lindahl got something on it. It was Borges | :39:01. | :39:10.
playing her onside. Tough to call. Was Carter going for gold? I think | :39:11. | :39:19.
so. -- for goal. That was a let off for Lindahl. She was a cup winner in | :39:20. | :39:31.
Sweden. Also a runner-up. Plenty of experience of the big occasions. | :39:32. | :39:41.
Ji has had a disappointing final by her standards so far. That is credit | :39:42. | :39:47.
to Arsenal, they have stopped her playing every time she has got the | :39:48. | :39:56.
ball. They have targeted the key players so welcome not allowing them | :39:57. | :40:00.
to get on the ball and bossing the midfield which is what they needed | :40:01. | :40:04.
to do. They have got the game plan spot on. That was a bit of a cynical | :40:05. | :40:10.
foul from Kelly Smith she knew what she was doing, as Chelsea get ready | :40:11. | :40:11.
to bring on Eni Aluko. Another foul. I wonder if Arsenal will regret | :40:12. | :40:34.
those two missed chances at the start of this half. Arsenal, high | :40:35. | :40:42.
press in the first half, have they run themselves into the ground? Will | :40:43. | :40:48.
Chelsea get stronger as the game goes on? That is aimed towards | :40:49. | :40:53.
Millie Bright, Chapman got in front of her. It will bounce for Jordan | :40:54. | :40:57.
Nobbs. Mitchell. Carter, Williams, she has had a good | :40:58. | :41:06.
game. Lovely turn by Nobbs. Aluko waiting on that far side. I | :41:07. | :41:41.
just wonder who will go off. It could be Karen Carney, Gemma | :41:42. | :41:45.
Davison, Fran Kirby, she can play all across the front three. I am | :41:46. | :41:51.
hedging my bets! It would not surprise me if Karen Carney goes | :41:52. | :41:52.
off. They could put Fran Kirby into a | :41:53. | :42:07.
wider position and Aluko through the middle or put Aluko out wide. They | :42:08. | :42:17.
can interchange so well. They are constantly moving and that is why | :42:18. | :42:20.
they are normally so difficult to defend against. I think they had to | :42:21. | :42:28.
commit more bodies forward than they have been doing, Chelsea. And they | :42:29. | :42:32.
need that quality when they are going forward. Bright. That is not a | :42:33. | :42:43.
good ball. What we do know is that Eni Aluko will come on, four goals | :42:44. | :42:48.
already this season in seven games. She had a super final last year and | :42:49. | :42:55.
she won the cup against Chelsea for Birmingham back in 2012. She scored | :42:56. | :43:03.
the winner in the 2005 cup final for Charlton against Everton. It is | :43:04. | :43:08.
Karen Carney coming off. She will be bitterly disappointed. Aluko is a | :43:09. | :43:17.
different sort of player. I don't think Carney has had any sort of | :43:18. | :43:22.
supply, she wanted to be able to dribble at players. We have seen Eni | :43:23. | :43:26.
Aluko coming on, especially for England, and she can change a game, | :43:27. | :43:32.
she has that pace and drive. And I said earlier, she will have a point | :43:33. | :43:37.
to prove, a real impact player. Here she is. She has that searing pace. | :43:38. | :43:47.
Kelly Smith brought back down well. They almost gave it back to her. | :43:48. | :43:55.
This is Losada. Into the feet of Oshoala. Good defending by Chapman. | :43:56. | :44:04.
Hasn't she covered some ground? She is really trying to lead by example. | :44:05. | :44:10.
They need a lift, a spark of brilliance or a good tackle like | :44:11. | :44:17.
that. Working hard for her team to get them back into this. Arsenal's | :44:18. | :44:23.
fourth corner of the game. Chelsea are yet to have one. It comes, easy | :44:24. | :44:34.
header away. And now Chelsea look to the pace of Eni Aluko. Head down and | :44:35. | :44:42.
carrying. It would have been a difficult ball, had she looked up, | :44:43. | :44:47.
Hannah Blundell had made a great run on the far side but a very difficult | :44:48. | :44:54.
ball to get across to her. She has not necessarily done a bad job for | :44:55. | :45:03.
her team. Kirby. Ji. Borges. Scott was there, she has had a good game. | :45:04. | :45:13.
Out wide to Oshoala almost but this is Ji. | :45:14. | :45:19.
Given away. Chelsea on the counter... Cleared by Henning. | :45:20. | :45:42.
Williams digs it out. This is a decent spell for Chelsea, even if | :45:43. | :45:50.
they are not really creating. That's given away very poorly by Ana | :45:51. | :45:58.
Borges. Blundell went to ground and timed it well. She needed to. We | :45:59. | :46:10.
have not seen too much of Blundell going forward, but she anticipated | :46:11. | :46:20.
that well. I think you said it earlier - Chelsea need to commit | :46:21. | :46:26.
more players forward. Front three needs to be closer together. It is | :46:27. | :46:32.
such a big pitch, there is not many female players who can do that long | :46:33. | :46:39.
diagonal ball out wide. Arsenal have kept three clean sheets in eight | :46:40. | :46:45.
matches this season. That is a worry for Chelsea, of course. Chelsea's | :46:46. | :46:52.
last domestic fleet, 1-0 at Birmingham in the WSL Up in | :46:53. | :46:59.
September of last year. That is last time Chelsea failed to score in a | :47:00. | :47:13.
domestic came. She has had a very good final, she has had a very good | :47:14. | :47:17.
season. I think she has been one of the only players who has remained a | :47:18. | :47:27.
constant in the Arsenal team. She was on an episode of Pointless on | :47:28. | :47:31.
the BBC, alongside Hope Powell and Graeme Le Saux. I think they went on | :47:32. | :47:40.
to win it. I wouldn't know, we were already in a taxi on the way home, | :47:41. | :47:47.
having gone out in the first round. My answer was so appalling, the | :47:48. | :47:52.
music could not even get going. Very similar position to the Arsenal | :47:53. | :48:12.
goal, but this one went wide. That's exactly what she was trying to do. | :48:13. | :48:17.
Good ball out by Ji, and she wants to get on her right foot. Exactly | :48:18. | :48:21.
the same as Dan Carter did in the first half. Just couldn't get quite | :48:22. | :48:28.
enough on it. On the hour at Wembley, Arsenal still leading 1-0. | :48:29. | :48:38.
Aluko has two goals against Arsenal in the past, including in the FA Cup | :48:39. | :48:40.
semifinal. Davison has had a quiet final so | :48:41. | :49:01.
far. But they are beginning to get on top here, Chelsea. Arsenal being | :49:02. | :49:07.
forced to defend deeper and deeper, looking to counter. Oshoala, surely | :49:08. | :49:16.
this time! Oh, the touch was very heavy! And another chance has come | :49:17. | :49:25.
and gone! Arsenal should have been two, three, even four up. Kelly | :49:26. | :49:29.
Smith, again, creating the opportunity. This was a good first | :49:30. | :49:36.
touch, bad second touch, just giving Lindahl the chance to come out and | :49:37. | :49:41.
make herself big. She actually did really well to save it with her leg | :49:42. | :49:46.
in the end, I think it was. That's three chances for Arsenal, maybe | :49:47. | :49:52.
four. Three big ones to her in the game. Still young, at 21. Goalkeeper | :49:53. | :50:01.
came, went back, another corner for Arsenal. | :50:02. | :50:10.
Katie Chapman does such a good job defending in her own penalty area. | :50:11. | :50:20.
She has had a remarkable career. Seven FA Cup 's. She made that | :50:21. | :50:27.
statement when she retired from England duty back in March 2011, in | :50:28. | :50:35.
a row over childcare costs. She won that will and she is back in. -- she | :50:36. | :50:46.
won that battle. I thought that was in. It was a lovely ball in. Henning | :50:47. | :50:54.
manages to in front of everybody but just cannot direct her head. Got to | :50:55. | :51:00.
defend better than that, Chelsea. Chelsea can in a Ford any sort of | :51:01. | :51:06.
ghastly mistake at this stage. -- can ill afford. Cannot ever remember | :51:07. | :51:13.
Josephine Henning scoring - for anyone. Smith was so | :51:14. | :51:23.
quick to cover the ground and force the corner. She looks really fit and | :51:24. | :51:29.
well and up for the occasion. She does, she looks very sharp. I know | :51:30. | :51:34.
she hasn't played a couple of the WSL games which she would have liked | :51:35. | :51:38.
to have played. I think he has been looking after her, making sure she | :51:39. | :51:42.
is fit and healthy, like you say. Headroom knows how important Kelly | :51:43. | :51:47.
Smith is to this Arsenal team. And I think she's been excellent so far. | :51:48. | :52:04.
The referee is running back to the halfway line. What is Sarah Garret | :52:05. | :52:11.
doing here? There is another flag being brought on. | :52:12. | :52:39.
Good cross in! Really good move by Arsenal again. Chelsea need to get | :52:40. | :52:49.
it away in a hurry. She has had an excellent game, the Spanish | :52:50. | :52:52.
international Losada. Chapman, for Chelsea. Henning needed | :52:53. | :53:14.
to get to that second ball quickly, because Kirby was coming in. | :53:15. | :53:20.
Williams dumped to the turf by Millie Bright. That was a definite | :53:21. | :53:31.
foul! Just getting a bit frustrated. This was the chance earlier. Losada, | :53:32. | :53:37.
Fara Williams, Kelly Smith, they have all been involved in everything | :53:38. | :53:42.
good that Arsenal have done. Losada has been excellent. Another run in | :53:43. | :53:49.
there by the 25-year-old, Spanish cup winner with Barcelona. It has | :53:50. | :53:56.
been a feature of Arsenal's campaign, as they look for her | :53:57. | :54:03.
again. She is offside there, but she has made great runs from deep | :54:04. | :54:06.
positions, knowing that Fara Williams and Jordan Nobbs if | :54:07. | :54:09.
necessary would drop back in and cover. They have to have a good | :54:10. | :54:15.
understanding, the midfield three. They need to cover each other. But | :54:16. | :54:20.
you just wonder, how long can Arsenal maintain this intense, high | :54:21. | :54:30.
pressing game? It's difficult to do that, no matter how fit you are. | :54:31. | :54:35.
England manager Mark Sampson is here looking on. It will be interesting | :54:36. | :54:40.
for him to see Fara Williams working well with Jordan Nobbs, because has | :54:41. | :54:45.
played Fara Williams in wider positions. England game coming up, | :54:46. | :55:00.
tickets still available. Important to get those two combining well for | :55:01. | :55:05.
England. Jordan Nobbs in there again. She could not play a full | :55:06. | :55:08.
role in the World Cup last summer because she was injured. They have | :55:09. | :55:12.
combined well today. They have, and I much prefer Fara Williams in a | :55:13. | :55:18.
central role. I don't think she can be as effective and wide. She cannot | :55:19. | :55:21.
get on the ball as much. We have seen today her quality when she does | :55:22. | :55:26.
get on the ball. She is pivotal in everything Arsenal do. In recent | :55:27. | :55:33.
meetings between the two sides, Chelsea have dominated. Have won the | :55:34. | :55:40.
last two. Arsenal have only won one of their last seven meetings. And | :55:41. | :55:47.
Chelsea nearly always score against Arsenal, scoring two or more in five | :55:48. | :55:51.
of the last seven, keeping three clean sheets in the last four. So | :55:52. | :56:04.
this is a turn-up. Arsenal have dominated possession, they have | :56:05. | :56:07.
created more chances, but that's the big question on a big occasion - | :56:08. | :56:16.
will a team get tired? Play the match and not the occasion, Sue, | :56:17. | :56:21.
that's what they say. And it's very true. And Arsenal have got a lot of | :56:22. | :56:26.
experienced players out there who have been and played the big | :56:27. | :56:33.
occasions. And you can tell. Blustery old day at Wembley. Chilly | :56:34. | :56:42.
in the shadows. Kelly Smith is in the Spotlight again, which is good | :56:43. | :56:48.
to see. Wonderful player over the years. One of the pillars of English | :56:49. | :56:55.
women's football. There have been of course many others, leading the way, | :56:56. | :57:00.
Pathfinders, over the years, who should be remembered, I think, as | :57:01. | :57:06.
women's football develops in England and in the UK at a fantastic rate. | :57:07. | :57:19.
Aluko, is this her chance? Very good covering challenge by Casey Stoney. | :57:20. | :57:27.
Chelsea 's first corner of the game, in the 70th minute. This is | :57:28. | :57:31.
excellent defending from Casey Stoney. She reads the game so well. | :57:32. | :57:42.
She has had a really good game. Ji could score! But doesn't! They | :57:43. | :57:59.
haven't had many opportunities. Time is dribbling away, they might not | :58:00. | :58:02.
get many more, and that was a big one! It was, and if there is a | :58:03. | :58:07.
player you want it to fall to in the box, it is one! . I have seen her | :58:08. | :58:14.
score so many good goals from that position. She just can't get over | :58:15. | :58:16.
it. -- it is Ji! I just think the Chelsea players | :58:17. | :59:33.
need to play closer together. Is there a problem here with the | :59:34. | :59:42.
goalkeeper? She hasn't really had a great deal to do. She is saying it | :59:43. | :59:50.
is her knee. I suppose one bonus is the fact that they have got Emma | :59:51. | :59:58.
Byrne, who reserve 'keeper and an excellent 'keeper. Who has won the | :59:59. | :00:05.
cup nine times, including 2014. Eight league titles. She is | :00:06. | :00:14.
approaching 400 league games. The fact that Emma Byrne isn't playing, | :00:15. | :00:19.
you know that van Veenendaal must be an excellent 'keeper. To have two | :00:20. | :00:24.
goalkeepers like that in your squad, you must be very lucky. Emma Byrne | :00:25. | :00:31.
has not played this season for Arsenal because of the form of van | :00:32. | :00:38.
Veenendaal. Pedro Martinez Losa is going to make two substitutions now. | :00:39. | :00:48.
Janssen has had a very good season so far and she will come on in | :00:49. | :00:57.
midfield. Dominique Janssen, the Dutch international. The other | :00:58. | :01:07.
substitute is van de Donk. She played on the left in the recent | :01:08. | :01:09.
league game between the teams. I think Arsenal need fresh legs | :01:10. | :01:20.
because there are signs that are tiring. And I think that is because | :01:21. | :01:25.
how much they have worked in this game. I have been really impressed | :01:26. | :01:30.
with Janssen this season. It is unfortunate she is competing for a | :01:31. | :01:35.
position with Fara Williams because she will sit. I don't know if she | :01:36. | :01:40.
will come on for Williams, but she played a similar role protecting the | :01:41. | :01:44.
back four. Van de Donk has skill on the ball and can make things happen. | :01:45. | :01:49.
Fresh legs is exactly what they need. I think she will come on for | :01:50. | :01:57.
Kelly Smith. Danielle van de Donk is the shorter of the two girls. This | :01:58. | :02:04.
is a sensible move, a fresh pair of legs. Another Dutch international, | :02:05. | :02:11.
she has scored nine times. What a final Kelly Smith had, crucial that | :02:12. | :02:16.
she could start. She has had an excellent final, and she was just | :02:17. | :02:20.
giving some information to van de Donk, to hold the ball up but also | :02:21. | :02:25.
to turn and have a go. That experience on and off the field has | :02:26. | :02:34.
been vital. A fresh pair of legs. No comment on Fara Williams's display | :02:35. | :02:38.
because she has had a terrific match, with American football style | :02:39. | :02:46.
quarterback Passos flung around the pitch. The fact that Arsenal have | :02:47. | :02:54.
that quality to come on. -- passes. You can work your socks off and you | :02:55. | :02:59.
know your replacement coming on is going to be of good quality and can | :03:00. | :03:06.
make things happen. Van de Donk has three goals this season, all against | :03:07. | :03:13.
Sunderland in the cup semifinal. She will chase. They signed her from | :03:14. | :03:20.
Gothenburg in Sweden, she had had a good spell at Eindhoven before that | :03:21. | :03:26.
where she scored every other game. She has not played since the league | :03:27. | :03:30.
match against Chelsea when she was disappointing. Carter tries to | :03:31. | :03:34.
switch it to Oshoala. Chelsea seem to be making a move as | :03:35. | :03:51.
well. Bethany England might be coming on. You know her very well. I | :03:52. | :03:53.
do. Quarter of an hour left at Wembley. | :03:54. | :04:06.
Davison running a long way and skips beyond Mitchell. Good defending | :04:07. | :04:13.
again by Stoney, covering behind the full-back and the cross comes to | :04:14. | :04:18.
nothing. Stoney has had an excellent game. They have had some good | :04:19. | :04:24.
individual performances. Defensively they have been absolutely solid. It | :04:25. | :04:28.
has allowed the front players to go forward and create things. You can | :04:29. | :04:36.
pick out so many Arsenal players who have had a good game and that has | :04:37. | :04:40.
been the difference as they have won their individual battles. Oshoala. | :04:41. | :04:45.
Challenged by Borges. Had she taken her chances, Arsenal | :04:46. | :04:56.
would have been home and hosed by now. | :04:57. | :05:12.
They will be in no hurry now to get things going. Good run by van de | :05:13. | :05:22.
Donk and a little chip! It almost beat the goalkeeper, from Losada. | :05:23. | :05:32.
Lindahl flung up our hand. Losada deserves a goal, she has changed | :05:33. | :05:36.
back again and got a vital touch as Davison tried to bring it away for | :05:37. | :05:44.
Chelsea. Losada has had a really good game, the Arsenal midfielder | :05:45. | :05:50.
has been absolutely key. Kirby has been starved of any genuine service. | :05:51. | :06:10.
This was the chance. I think she was trying to end it to the far post and | :06:11. | :06:22.
it almost went in. -- trying to dink it. Millie Bright has gone off and | :06:23. | :06:38.
best England has come on. -- Beth England. She was instrumental for us | :06:39. | :06:44.
at Doncaster last year but wanted to come to Chelsea to step up to that | :06:45. | :06:49.
level. She is a top quality player. Very good in the air and she has | :06:50. | :06:54.
scored a few goals for Chelsea. The shot is deflected, it comes to the | :06:55. | :06:58.
substitute, shot blocked by Alex Scott. | :06:59. | :07:06.
They are looking for England again. Janssen got it away and now Arsenal | :07:07. | :07:16.
can counter with Carter, chased by Blundell, she needs support, van de | :07:17. | :07:19.
Donk arriving in the middle, Danielle Carter, the shot blocked, | :07:20. | :07:25.
can she release Oshoala? That is wide. | :07:26. | :07:39.
That is what Dan Carter has done all afternoon. She had been on the front | :07:40. | :07:46.
foot, wanting to take players on and she has been positive in everything | :07:47. | :07:51.
she has done. Another standout player if we had to pick one. | :07:52. | :08:00.
I think all of her hundred family and friends will be impressed with | :08:01. | :08:04.
what they have seen. Alex Scott under a bit of pressure | :08:05. | :08:13.
from Eni Aluko. Good interception by Janssen, this | :08:14. | :08:26.
is Ji. Into the last ten minutes. Good covering down the left-hand | :08:27. | :08:38.
side for Arsenal. The highest attendance for a women's | :08:39. | :09:06.
cup final, 32,912, beating the record from last season, that is | :09:07. | :09:10.
tremendous stuff. Enjoying the sunshine. It is great to see, a real | :09:11. | :09:21.
family affair. And your size seven jacket didn't quite do the job for | :09:22. | :09:23.
me! Up towards Aluko. Nice backheel. | :09:24. | :09:42.
Borges. She was taken down rather cynically. Yellow card for Oshoala. | :09:43. | :09:56.
I don't think she can argue with that one. It was very clumsy. It was | :09:57. | :10:07.
a nice backheel from Aluko. And Borges, she can get forward, | :10:08. | :10:11.
defensively not at her best today but going forward... | :10:12. | :10:27.
Ji with the free kick. Eight minutes left for Chelsea. They have created | :10:28. | :10:33.
so little. If this comes back of the | :10:34. | :10:47.
goalkeeper, Aluko marked pounds. The goalkeeper punches under no great | :10:48. | :11:00.
pressure -- po. Good clearance from Carter. Her goal still separates the | :11:01. | :11:04.
teams. 14 goals in all competitions last | :11:05. | :11:20.
season for Doncaster. Scored against them in March in Chelsea's 4-1 win. | :11:21. | :11:32.
Emma Hayes. Double winners last season. His team might deny them the | :11:33. | :11:44.
opportunity in 2016. Up goes Borges. A foul on Chapman but she is so | :11:45. | :11:50.
strong and determined. There is a yellow card now for Beth England. | :11:51. | :12:03.
Only 21, she turns 22 in June. This is the foul, it was Katie Chapman | :12:04. | :12:13.
initially winning the ball. It was just a clumsy tackle. Sometimes when | :12:14. | :12:21.
you come on you are quite over aroused and you want to prove a | :12:22. | :12:25.
point and show what you can do. I think that was one of those, | :12:26. | :12:29.
technically she is an excellent player and if you can get her on the | :12:30. | :12:33.
ball she will show what quality she has. Wanted to test herself at a | :12:34. | :12:39.
higher level, that is why she moved to Chelsea. As we mentioned at the | :12:40. | :12:48.
top of the commentary, this is the new Chelsea kit. I gather we will | :12:49. | :12:52.
see them in this next season. Arsenal are now taking their time. | :12:53. | :12:59.
Very calm, Emma Hayes. Van de Donk. Gets the return. Won | :13:00. | :13:19.
back right Chapman but that will be a throw in to Chelsea. | :13:20. | :13:33.
Ji. Nothing on upfront at all, as to go back to Niamh Fahey. Look at the | :13:34. | :13:46.
pressure Arsenal are still exerting hike up the pitch on Chelsea. They | :13:47. | :13:51.
have worked tremendously hard today. It has not been a good start to the | :13:52. | :13:56.
season for Arsenal. But if they hold onto this lead it would be another | :13:57. | :14:00.
remarkable day for them in the Women's FA Cup. 14 victories, nine | :14:01. | :14:13.
in their last 13 finals, in the last 13 finals, I should say. They have | :14:14. | :14:19.
only ever lost one final themselves and have dominated this competition | :14:20. | :14:23.
since the early 90s. Oshoala, is to hold will stop van de Donk was | :14:24. | :14:28.
offside. She felt she was fouled -- has the hold. | :14:29. | :14:34.
Who would be your player of the match? It is a difficult one to pick | :14:35. | :14:44.
out because Arsenal have had so many quality performances. Casey Stoney | :14:45. | :14:48.
has been immense, by Williams, Kelly Smith. You have mentioned Losada a | :14:49. | :14:56.
few times. I have had to go with Dan Carter, for her individual solo | :14:57. | :15:00.
effort for the goal, I have to go with her, she has been quality on | :15:01. | :15:01.
the ball and that goal was special. Dan Carter, Player Of The Match, in | :15:02. | :15:09.
the SSE Women's FA Cup Final 2016. Time is short now for Chelsea. | :15:10. | :15:42.
Nothing on for Fahey. That looked like a frustrated ball, lacking in | :15:43. | :15:52.
invention and quality. That has been the problem I think with Chelsea. | :15:53. | :15:57.
They have needed a bit more quality going forward. It is a surprise, | :15:58. | :16:05.
because of the players they have got. Off goes Oshoala, and on comes | :16:06. | :16:16.
Leah Williamson, just 19, from Milton Keynes. She joined Arsenal as | :16:17. | :16:25.
a nine-year-old. Katie Chapman trying to get Oshoala off the pitch | :16:26. | :16:35.
quicker. She was young Player of the Year, was it last season, Leah | :16:36. | :16:40.
Williamson? Won the FA Youth Cup with Arsenal in 2013 against | :16:41. | :16:45.
Blackburn. She is an England under 23 player. Very much to add some | :16:46. | :17:02.
defensive security. Chapman plays down the line, looking for Kirby. | :17:03. | :17:17.
Cleared by the excellent Vicky Losada. Chapman gets it back. Driven | :17:18. | :17:24.
forward by Carter. Arsenal are working so hard back | :17:25. | :17:50.
there. Cross comes in from Borges. Through to the goalkeeper in the | :17:51. | :17:58.
end. And they simply have not worked Sari van Veenendaal anywhere hard | :17:59. | :18:02.
enough. Again, it is the quality. There is plenty of players in the | :18:03. | :18:08.
box. Got to try and pick one of them out. Arsenal have played very well, | :18:09. | :18:14.
Sue, Chelsea have underperformed. They really have, and they will | :18:15. | :18:19.
think that as well. I have seen them so many times this season, and they | :18:20. | :18:24.
have been excellent. Today they will be disappointed, on such a big | :18:25. | :18:35.
occasion. But credit to Arsenal. Eventually, that one goes wide. We | :18:36. | :18:38.
have four minutes of stoppage time announced. That was a half chance. | :18:39. | :18:47.
Gemma Davison took it upon herself. Fran Kirby, bit of a snapshot on the | :18:48. | :18:54.
volley, just could not get it on target. Is that the first attempt | :18:55. | :19:02.
she has had since she had the one-to-one in the first half? I | :19:03. | :19:12.
think it is. No-one has done more for Chelsea than Chapman in | :19:13. | :19:15.
midfield. You can see what this means to her. Three times she won | :19:16. | :19:22.
the cup for Arsenal. Was she taken down there? Well, Chelsea certainly | :19:23. | :19:31.
had a claim. Oh, and the 'keeper very nearly got herself into a | :19:32. | :19:34.
terrible bit of trouble there. What was she doing? She had two options, | :19:35. | :19:42.
she could have just passed the ball out to them. You get it out wide | :19:43. | :19:58.
there, don't you? Yes! Ji has not been able to escape her shackles | :19:59. | :20:05.
throughout the game. Arsenal's game plan, to pressurise her wherever | :20:06. | :20:11.
they can - and they have done. And that has been the sort of result. | :20:12. | :20:16.
Chapman has been excellent for Chelsea, really excellent. Ji... Is | :20:17. | :20:23.
it too little, too late, from the double winners? We're halfway | :20:24. | :20:28.
through stoppage time. Gemma Davison on the outside... Forces the corner. | :20:29. | :20:35.
At long last, Gemma Davison is running at her opponent. Chelsea in | :20:36. | :20:46.
a hurry - can they force extra time? Chapman up from behind. Ji... | :20:47. | :20:58.
Arsenal with everyone back. Aluko tries to thread it through. In the | :20:59. | :21:04.
end, van Veenendaal makes a comfortable save. Fahey was forward, | :21:05. | :21:10.
and it was a lovely ball to her by a Aluko. Great vision from Aluko. Just | :21:11. | :21:17.
too little, too late. You think, why did Chelsea not to do this a little | :21:18. | :21:22.
bit of sooner? Getting it out wide to Gemma Davison, who is creating | :21:23. | :21:32.
things. And we are in the last unit of stoppage time. | :21:33. | :21:44.
This has to go long - it doesn't. What a mix-up that is! Dan Carter, | :21:45. | :21:52.
holding possession. If Arsenal keep the ball, they will win the cup. | :21:53. | :21:58.
They know that. Jordan Nobbs gets it back into the corner flag area. | :21:59. | :22:10.
Chelsea nearly getting themselves into trouble again. This time it | :22:11. | :22:18.
does come out to Ji. No more intense as -- no more than ten seconds or so | :22:19. | :22:23.
left. This is the last attack of the game, surely. And Arsenal have won | :22:24. | :22:36.
it! The record holders of the FA Cup have won another trophy! Their 14th | :22:37. | :22:44.
FA Cup success! They had the only goal-scorer, in Dan Carter. They | :22:45. | :22:54.
have the 2016 FA Cup! It's strange to see say, because of their | :22:55. | :22:58.
illustrious history, that they were underdogs, but they were. And they | :22:59. | :23:03.
have shown exactly just what they can do. They have shown what they | :23:04. | :23:11.
can do if Pedro Martinez Losa picks the right team and gets his tactics | :23:12. | :23:16.
white, which he has done. And the players give absolutely everything, | :23:17. | :23:21.
hard work and the quality on the ball. That has been the difference. | :23:22. | :23:23.
Chelsea did not have that quality going forward - something I have not | :23:24. | :23:28.
said about Chelsea all season. Well, another success for the remarkable | :23:29. | :23:34.
Kelly Smith. She didn't score for a seventh time in a cup final. As | :23:35. | :23:41.
ever, looking calm, even though she was on the defeated side. Emma Hayes | :23:42. | :23:47.
walks away in a dignified manner. She does, and her players really | :23:48. | :23:55.
play for her. She is a very good man manager, and she will be readers | :23:56. | :24:00.
appointed, because she knows the players she has got, they didn't | :24:01. | :24:03.
perform. Whether the occasion got to them, whether Arsenal were just a | :24:04. | :24:08.
bit at on the day. They have a point to prove. Everybody was talking | :24:09. | :24:11.
about the top two teams in the league, Chelsea and city. Arsenal | :24:12. | :24:15.
wanted to show today that they were just as good as them. For Smith, it | :24:16. | :24:30.
is a fifth FA Cup triumph. Jo is down with Player Of The Match Dan | :24:31. | :24:36.
Carter. How does it feel? It is amazing, this is my fourth time | :24:37. | :24:41.
winning it, but to do it at Wembley, it is amazing. Arsenal came | :24:42. | :24:45.
sprinting out at the beginning of the match - was that the plan? I | :24:46. | :24:49.
think it had to be. The performances we have put in at the beginning of | :24:50. | :24:52.
the season have not been good enough. Hopefully we can kick on | :24:53. | :24:56.
from now. Where does that goal rank in your career? I think it is right | :24:57. | :25:00.
up there, to get the winner at Wembley! It is something I have | :25:01. | :25:05.
dreamt of! You're not just an FA Cup winner, you're also the SSE Player | :25:06. | :25:11.
Of The Match. Congratulations! Cheers! The fourth time she has won | :25:12. | :25:17.
the FA Cup. She is only 22. It seems a little bit unfair on all of the | :25:18. | :25:23.
other players! But of course, she is an Arsenal player, and it is what | :25:24. | :25:28.
they do. Rachel Yankey, you have won it yourself nine times with them. | :25:29. | :25:31.
How much of this do you think was down to psychology, with Arsenal for | :25:32. | :25:37.
once being the underdogs? Yes, psychology, tactics... As I said at | :25:38. | :25:41.
the beginning, it is a lot of pressure on Chelsea to go out there | :25:42. | :25:45.
and be the top team, be the ones that everyone thinks will go and win | :25:46. | :25:49.
it. And you have got to live up but expectation, which is not easy. I | :25:50. | :25:54.
have been in that situation many times, and you kind of have to let | :25:55. | :25:58.
it go whilst knowing that it is happening. Arsenal, being underdogs, | :25:59. | :26:04.
all you can do is play your best and win, so you're in a win-win | :26:05. | :26:09.
situation. They have gone out there and totally dominated the game. A | :26:10. | :26:14.
fully deserve it. A fantastic goal by Dan Carter, they got it spot on | :26:15. | :26:17.
today. Underdogs because of the league form, Rachel Brown, eye | :26:18. | :26:22.
Manchester City have been winning all of our games... We will come | :26:23. | :26:26.
back to that because we can now hear from the Arsenal winning manager, | :26:27. | :26:32.
Pedro Martinez Losa, with Jo. Arsenal, FA Cup winners, how does it | :26:33. | :26:37.
feel? Unbelievable. Wembley is red. I thank all of the players for their | :26:38. | :26:44.
effort. I hope all of the fans will be proud of us. What was the secret | :26:45. | :26:50.
behind the win today? The secret is the team, staying together in | :26:51. | :26:52.
difficult moments, and having confidence in yourself, in your | :26:53. | :26:58.
players. No questions at any moment, if them confidence to play on this | :26:59. | :27:03.
big pitch, play good football - and we won. That was some goal by Dan | :27:04. | :27:10.
Carter? Yes, I think we have more opportunities, especially in the | :27:11. | :27:13.
first half, we could have got a couple more. Chelsea in the second | :27:14. | :27:17.
half were very good, but I think we deserve the win. Congratulations. | :27:18. | :27:24.
Thank you very much. His first FA Cup Final victory. Rachel Brown, we | :27:25. | :27:29.
were talking before the game about, supposedly underdogs because of | :27:30. | :27:33.
their league form is all they have fierce competitors in the likes of | :27:34. | :27:37.
Casey Stoney, Ferrari Williams and Kelly Smith, who had won so much, | :27:38. | :27:43.
but still so desperate to win, was that key? I think it was. Players | :27:44. | :27:49.
who have won and lost the FA Cup, they know what it means. I remember | :27:50. | :27:54.
playing against Arsenal numerous times, and when it came to clutch | :27:55. | :27:58.
games, regardless of current form, Arsenal were always the favourites. | :27:59. | :28:02.
There wasn't some sort of psychology where they tended to dominate and | :28:03. | :28:05.
really show up for big games. The likes of Kelly Smith, Casey Stoney, | :28:06. | :28:10.
Alex Scott, always bringing that wealth of experience, along with | :28:11. | :28:15.
someone who is not there today on the pitch, Rachel Yankey! But that | :28:16. | :28:20.
depth of experience and that application to take the game to | :28:21. | :28:25.
Chelsea is what has won it today for Arsenal. And it was fully deserve. | :28:26. | :28:31.
OK, well, the teams are starting to make their way up to the Royal Box. | :28:32. | :28:37.
It is the first time they will be doing this at Wembley. Back to | :28:38. | :28:40.
Jonathan Pearce. JONATHAN PEARCE: Yes, it is a | :28:41. | :28:45.
different sort of walk for Arsenal. For Chelsea of course as well, who | :28:46. | :28:53.
walked up those steps to lift the trophy last season, this year, it | :28:54. | :29:00.
will be the runners-up medals. It is a long, convoluted walk in the new | :29:01. | :29:03.
stadium, going up the steps, disappearing for a while, coming | :29:04. | :29:08.
back into public view. Arsenal's name will be on that trophy. Katie | :29:09. | :29:16.
Chapman worked so hard, denied an eighth success in this competition. | :29:17. | :29:21.
Nobody worked harder than her. SUE SMITH: She was everywhere. She | :29:22. | :29:24.
was defending her box, trying to attack in the other box. There just | :29:25. | :29:29.
wasn't enough Katie Chapmans in the Chelsea team. They did not perform | :29:30. | :29:37.
how we know they can. Sarah Garratt, the referee, and her assistants they | :29:38. | :29:41.
did well? I thought they did very well. All female line-up, which is | :29:42. | :29:59.
nice to see. Up go Chelsea. The new stadium is of course spectacular, | :30:00. | :30:05.
but I wonder who it was who decided that it would take 3.5 days to get | :30:06. | :30:12.
up there?! After having played 90 minutes as well! Arsenal will be | :30:13. | :30:17.
lifting the cup for a record 14th time. Nine out of the last 13 | :30:18. | :30:20.
finals. There is Katie Chapman and behind | :30:21. | :30:32.
her Hedvig Lindahl who had no chance for the goal. Millie Bright as well. | :30:33. | :30:44.
A hug from Vic acres, who she will know so well from the Arsenal days | :30:45. | :31:00.
-- Vic Akers. They won 33 major trophies under Vic Akers. Ji did not | :31:01. | :31:07.
really get into the final. All credit to Arsenal. They stopped them | :31:08. | :31:12.
playing, identifying the key players for Chelsea. Every time they got the | :31:13. | :31:19.
ball there were Arsenal players around them stopping them playing | :31:20. | :31:21.
and stopping them facing forward. You would normally play Alex | :31:22. | :31:39.
Greenwood in a major final. You can see what it means to Alex Scott, it | :31:40. | :31:46.
is unbridled joy for the Arsenal captain, winning eight ninths FA | :31:47. | :31:51.
Cup, major trophy. Sensational club career. | :31:52. | :31:58.
You look at the performances, Mitchell and Stoney and Losada and | :31:59. | :32:05.
Williams. Jordan Nobbs covered so much ground, Carter took the goal | :32:06. | :32:11.
well. Every single player. It is about winning those one-on-one | :32:12. | :32:16.
battles with your opponent and Arsenal did that all over the pitch. | :32:17. | :32:22.
They were quality in every area. Even the substitutes who came on. | :32:23. | :32:31.
There will be -- they will be a force in the WSL this season. The | :32:32. | :32:38.
Arsenal players preparing to lift the trophy. Tomorrow the men's team | :32:39. | :32:47.
and the season. I wonder what the reaction will be. They can go out | :32:48. | :32:55.
and display this cup and I'm sure that will create a buoyant | :32:56. | :32:56.
atmosphere. They have been in this position | :32:57. | :33:12.
before but not in this stadium. And a wave from the manager. Alex Scott | :33:13. | :33:21.
receives her medal. Kelly Smith behind her. Outstanding over the | :33:22. | :33:33.
years. A fifth FA Cup now. They all played their part, Jordan Nobbs in | :33:34. | :33:40.
there, such energy levels. I wonder if they will lift it jointly, Alex | :33:41. | :33:46.
Scott and Kelly Smith. Losada must have been close to player of the | :33:47. | :33:53.
match. She really did. It was difficult, I could have picked any | :33:54. | :33:58.
one of 11 from the Arsenal team. Losada had a fantastic game. This | :33:59. | :34:03.
will be a lovely moment if they lived this jointly. Kelly Smith is | :34:04. | :34:09.
37 and she might not get many more days like this. She has been a | :34:10. | :34:14.
legend in the women's game. It is crucial for Arsenal to start her. | :34:15. | :34:18.
Here we go, the 2-mac of them together. Up goes the cup! And a | :34:19. | :34:28.
moment where they can dance the dance of delight as a team and as a | :34:29. | :34:36.
unit, they were superb, too good for Chelsea, the favourites. Arsenal, | :34:37. | :34:42.
for a record 14th time, winners of the Women's FA Cup. | :34:43. | :34:51.
STUDIO: Familiar scenes and how much they must be enjoying that here at | :34:52. | :34:59.
Wembley. Their first time here, just down the road from where you play. | :35:00. | :35:05.
How much will this mean to them? It'll mean ever think and it is | :35:06. | :35:09.
personal pride for the players. They know they have not been up to | :35:10. | :35:12.
standard this season and this is where they felt they could click on. | :35:13. | :35:16.
Every player out there has given every effort and it has been | :35:17. | :35:23.
fantastic -- kick on. We saw a shot of Jodie Taylor who was ineligible | :35:24. | :35:28.
for the match. It is almost an embarrassment of riches they have. | :35:29. | :35:32.
You wonder where she would have fitted in! As Rachel Yankey said, | :35:33. | :35:39.
every single player did not leave anything out there, they stuck to | :35:40. | :35:44.
their game plan. As far as bringing in Jodie Taylor for the WSL, it is | :35:45. | :35:53.
phenomenal. Pedro Losa has a difficult task to manage his players | :35:54. | :35:56.
and keep everybody happy but she will certainly bring... She can be | :35:57. | :36:03.
world class on the top of the game. I think everybody is excited to see | :36:04. | :36:10.
her in the WSL. How important is man management, or woman management, | :36:11. | :36:13.
when it comes to having so many top players? There are not that many | :36:14. | :36:21.
games. It's critical. Whether you are a coach or a manager, it is | :36:22. | :36:25.
about managing your players and when you have internationals on the | :36:26. | :36:29.
bench, they will not be happy not playing in domestic football. They | :36:30. | :36:35.
come to play every week and better their chances at international | :36:36. | :36:39.
level. And these are experienced internationals so it is about being | :36:40. | :36:44.
honest and trusting your players and making sure they know what their | :36:45. | :36:47.
role is at the club. Then you can manage and rotate and work and get | :36:48. | :36:54.
the best out of them. It is a case of communicating them if the players | :36:55. | :36:58.
know why they are not playing, if it is managing them, the risk of | :36:59. | :37:03.
injury, that is not an issue. If they don't get an explanation, that | :37:04. | :37:07.
is when they start to question things. We can have a look at the | :37:08. | :37:12.
winning goal and it was a cracker. It was brilliant. The control, the | :37:13. | :37:22.
touch. She wants to go forward. That is a super strike. On her right | :37:23. | :37:26.
foot, get it in there and she knew what she wanted to do. I've seen her | :37:27. | :37:30.
do it so many times in training. It's a fantastic strike and I'm | :37:31. | :37:34.
really proud of Dan Carter and what she has achieved. She is a player | :37:35. | :37:40.
who needs to perform and today she has shown everything. Maybe not Bend | :37:41. | :37:50.
it like Beckham but tell it like Carter! There was nothing the | :37:51. | :37:56.
goalkeeper should have done. -- curl it. If you do the analysis, yes, you | :37:57. | :38:03.
would expect Hannah Blundell to limit her chances and show her down | :38:04. | :38:11.
the line. But Chelsea did not expect that to be the one chance. Arsenal | :38:12. | :38:17.
had others. Chelsea did have some, they hit the bar, but it was so | :38:18. | :38:22.
early on that they did not expect that to be the deciding moment of | :38:23. | :38:29.
the game. Arsenal did have other chances. Oshoala will not be wanting | :38:30. | :38:38.
to watch too many of these. She will know that she should have done | :38:39. | :38:44.
better. It was good composure from Arsenal and she had chances but she | :38:45. | :38:48.
is getting into positions to have these chances and that is positive. | :38:49. | :38:53.
She is world-class, she was the best youngster in the world. This is what | :38:54. | :39:01.
we expect of her. She hasn't finished her chances today and she | :39:02. | :39:04.
is clearly upset but she is picking those chances. People may be | :39:05. | :39:10.
questioned why Claire Rafferty did not start. She might have dealt with | :39:11. | :39:16.
her better. Do you think that is something that Emma Hayes will look | :39:17. | :39:22.
back on? If it was a tactical decision, yes, I think she might be | :39:23. | :39:26.
questioning why she didn't start her. We have given a lot of credit | :39:27. | :39:31.
to Arsenal because they were the better team today but for Chelsea, | :39:32. | :39:35.
what could they all should they have done better? They knew that Arsenal | :39:36. | :39:40.
would start brightly and they were weathering the storm. In the first | :39:41. | :39:46.
half they had their chances to get back into it and equalise and create | :39:47. | :39:52.
something but they did not take them. The second half they will be | :39:53. | :39:56.
disappointed. You expected Chelsea to come out and take this game to | :39:57. | :40:01.
Arsenal. They did have chances in the first half where they could have | :40:02. | :40:09.
got shots on target but the second half, they didn't get there. Only in | :40:10. | :40:13.
the last five minutes, but that isn't good enough for Chelsea. | :40:14. | :40:19.
Arsenal were on fire and Chelsea were tame. One of the players on | :40:20. | :40:24.
fire, a veteran but still an outstanding footballer, Kelly Smith. | :40:25. | :40:30.
Your fifth FA Cup winners medal, where does this one rank? Top by | :40:31. | :40:36.
far. The team was outstanding from the first minute until the last. We | :40:37. | :40:42.
took the game to them, especially the first 20 minutes, we wanted to | :40:43. | :40:46.
get on the front foot. Dan Carter was outstanding, Emma Mitchell, we | :40:47. | :40:51.
really turned up, we wanted the cup back and we are really pleased with | :40:52. | :40:57.
the performance. It has been described as your cup by Alex Scott, | :40:58. | :41:03.
what does this mean? It is the one we all want to be involved in, a | :41:04. | :41:07.
record crowd, playing in front of all these fans at Wembley, it is an | :41:08. | :41:13.
unreal experience. How important was the match in terms of taking on | :41:14. | :41:18.
renewal season? I said this before the game. Come on! We haven't played | :41:19. | :41:27.
the best at the start of the season, we lost two games but winning this | :41:28. | :41:30.
can kick-start us for a better campaign. We're so happy, Kelly | :41:31. | :41:35.
touched on it, it doesn't matter about lead form in cup finals, we | :41:36. | :41:39.
showed up and pressed them and made it difficult -- league form. Who | :41:40. | :41:47.
stood out for you as captain? Our defence was good, our attack, Kelly | :41:48. | :41:52.
loves the big occasions and what a spectacular goal from Dan Carter but | :41:53. | :41:56.
it was a team effort like all season. You have played in ceremony | :41:57. | :42:00.
big matches, where does this one come? For me and Kelly and others, | :42:01. | :42:07.
we love Arsenal Football Club, we have been here for years so to walk | :42:08. | :42:10.
out here in an Arsenal shirt and do it for the Arsenal fans is special. | :42:11. | :42:17.
What more can you achieve as a team? Hopefully we can kick on. We have | :42:18. | :42:22.
the trophy, we saw Vic Akers up there, the legend of Arsenal, it | :42:23. | :42:28.
means the world to him and to everybody and Pedro, who put in so | :42:29. | :42:33.
much hard work. Congratulations, I will let you enjoy the celebrations. | :42:34. | :42:40.
Come on! It means quite a lot! It is nice to see players who have won so | :42:41. | :42:45.
much, FA Cups, league cups, league titles, they didn't used to get | :42:46. | :42:48.
challenged and maybe this means will not just because it is Wembley but | :42:49. | :42:52.
because Chelsea have overtaken them in the league and they have been | :42:53. | :42:59.
questioned. I think that is exactly why it means so much this time. For | :43:00. | :43:04.
the first time ever, Arsenal came in as underdogs to this game and that | :43:05. | :43:09.
does not happen. For the likes of Kelly and Alex, who have played | :43:10. | :43:12.
their football all over the world, in America could, they know Arsenal | :43:13. | :43:19.
is their club. That is what it means so much. They have gone into this | :43:20. | :43:24.
game on a poor run of knowing that is not good enough for Arsenal, but | :43:25. | :43:30.
everybody has showed up. Chelsea did have their chances, even though they | :43:31. | :43:36.
were not at their best. Last year's matchwinner, Ji, she had some | :43:37. | :43:43.
chances. She did. The quality she has shown is disappointing. She is | :43:44. | :43:48.
off target, just got over it a bit too much. But we come to expect | :43:49. | :43:54.
better of her and we are disappointed. You have to credit | :43:55. | :44:01.
Casey Stoney for getting back and making her rush this shot. Although | :44:02. | :44:05.
it is disappointing for her, it goes back to the Arsenal players, willing | :44:06. | :44:09.
to put their bodies on the line, knowing that she is a threat and | :44:10. | :44:13.
don't let her get the ball and don't give her time. Casey Stoney was | :44:14. | :44:16.
outstanding today. She is with Joe. You have just won the FA Cup at | :44:17. | :44:31.
Wembley, these days don't come along often. It's a special moment, | :44:32. | :44:35.
probably the best in my club career. It is for these two, they motivate | :44:36. | :44:40.
me every day to do well. What a team performance. It is the whole squad | :44:41. | :44:47.
effort to get us here and with it. I think he wants your microphone! But | :44:48. | :44:51.
I'm so proud of my team. What was this secret behind it? Your league | :44:52. | :44:59.
form has not been fantastic. We knew that if we worked harder and fought | :45:00. | :45:03.
harder and Ranmore Common we would win the game. I have to give credit | :45:04. | :45:08.
to Pedro, he got his tactics spot on -- ran more than them. Do you want | :45:09. | :45:16.
to introduce us? This is Teddy and Tilly. Mummy won! Arsenal fans! | :45:17. | :45:22.
Arsenal Ladies and Man United men. It reminds me of when Ian | :45:23. | :45:35.
Baker-Finch won the Open, I think it was, and his daughter... Anyway, | :45:36. | :45:40.
that was a few years ago! Anyway, Casey Stoney, we have not mentioned | :45:41. | :45:43.
her too much, with all of the attacking players getting the glory, | :45:44. | :45:49.
but how key was she? Massively, she is a leader, and that's what you | :45:50. | :45:52.
need when people are questioning you. You need people to stand up. | :45:53. | :46:01.
Again, a composed performance by Casey Stoney. Josephine Henning next | :46:02. | :46:07.
to her. We have kind of thought, Jemma Rose is not playing, but | :46:08. | :46:14.
Henning showed great composure. We always think about Jordan Nobbs and | :46:15. | :46:18.
Fara Williams, but I think Losada was quality today. Throughout the | :46:19. | :46:23.
team, everybody stood up and was counted today. Workrate, that was | :46:24. | :46:27.
one of the big things for Arsenal as well, wasn't it? As well as the | :46:28. | :46:33.
psychology, and the game plan, but the workrate of those Arsenal | :46:34. | :46:38.
players...? Yes, it was critical. Chelsea have great individuals, so | :46:39. | :46:45.
not to give them time on the ball. Especially the magician Ji So-Yun. | :46:46. | :46:52.
She had two shots all game, which is nothing. We have got to all three | :46:53. | :46:56.
players all pressing her. That was the key part of the game plan for | :46:57. | :47:02.
Arsenal are pressing from the front. You can see this, from Dan Carter. | :47:03. | :47:08.
Pressing, right from the front three. From a Chelsea point of view, | :47:09. | :47:11.
they do not have long now until they have to bounce back in a massive | :47:12. | :47:14.
game against Chester city on Thursday night at Staines. We will | :47:15. | :47:20.
have the highlights on the Women's Football Show, by the way! How will | :47:21. | :47:29.
they get up for that? That is the job of Emma Hayes, it is the quality | :47:30. | :47:32.
of the players, to be able to put this to one side. They will need to | :47:33. | :47:37.
dissect why they did not really get out of third gear, why Arsenal side | :47:38. | :47:40.
for their game so much. I'm sure Manchester City will be interested | :47:41. | :47:46.
in seeing Arsenal's tactics today. Manchester City have got their own | :47:47. | :47:52.
quality and style of course, but also, how they can prevent Chelsea | :47:53. | :47:56.
from dominating games. But the quality Chelsea have got, I don't | :47:57. | :47:59.
think it will affect them too much. Thank you to both of you. Arsenal | :48:00. | :48:05.
have regained the trophy they have held more than any other club. | :48:06. | :48:11.
Congratulations to them, once again! Goodbye from us. | :48:12. | :48:57.
This could be the game of the season. | :48:58. | :49:01.
There's going to be fireworks. 'A repeat of the 1990 final.' | :49:02. | :49:03.
What do you mean, we're going to out-play him, cocker? | :49:04. | :49:07. |
