unfinished business at the Crucible. Let setbacks will tonight | :00:08. | :00:13.
highlights. -- let's head back faults. -- for. | :00:14. | :00:31.
Hello and welcome. Day two of the 2014 world Snooker Championship here | :00:32. | :00:41.
at the Crucible theatre in Sheffield. What a great match this | :00:42. | :00:47.
evening. The conclusion of the match between Stuart Ingham and Ken | :00:48. | :00:54.
Doherty. Ken was really positive and hyped up for this match. It is great | :00:55. | :01:07.
to be back. I am very excited. When you come to the end of the season | :01:08. | :01:10.
you want to play at the Crucible. As much as I love doing that BBC it is | :01:11. | :01:17.
better to be here as a player. Great to be back. I am really excited. I | :01:18. | :01:24.
might be the oldest player but mentally -like a teenager. Can't | :01:25. | :01:34.
wait. -- I feel like. Have you played the best if you have | :01:35. | :01:38.
aspirations of going further stop and have Stuart Bingham. It will be | :01:39. | :01:44.
tough. He is a good player. Hopefully I can make it tough for | :01:45. | :01:52.
him. There is a pressure on me. Let the pressure be of the rest of the | :01:53. | :01:58.
voice. I will play as well as I can. I don't know what will unfold. | :01:59. | :02:02.
Luttsy held the ball slide. Do your best. Kent was so happy to be back | :02:03. | :02:11.
it in went as far as kissing the carpet on his return. -- Ken. He | :02:12. | :02:20.
gave being a tough time in the first session. Stuart got off to a flying | :02:21. | :02:26.
start but then can it his way back into that match. Bingham had a | :02:27. | :02:31.
slightly overnight. -- slight lead. He did very well yesterday from 3-0 | :02:32. | :02:49.
down to come back. 91 is the highest break. Kim dimity | :02:50. | :03:36.
could have easily led 5-4, believe it or not. Just with a few of his | :03:37. | :03:43.
safety shots he was overheating. The tables are very fast. This, Ken | :03:44. | :03:49.
would have been delighted to have got out of the session 5-4 when he | :03:50. | :03:51.
was 3-0 behind -- yes. The blackspot is pretty crowded. | :03:52. | :04:10.
When somebody does eventually get amongst the Bulls it will not be a | :04:11. | :04:18.
clear-cut opportunity. That was an excellent shot from Stuart Ingham. | :04:19. | :04:29.
-- walls. -- balls. He has some problems. That is the sort of thing | :04:30. | :04:45.
he was doing yesterday with his safety shots. He hit that one much | :04:46. | :04:49.
too thick. The only saving grace for ten, | :04:50. | :05:02.
really, is it will not be an easy break. | :05:03. | :05:10.
Is he looking back full boat blue perhaps, there he goes. -- for the. | :05:11. | :05:25.
Perhaps the lack spot might be available. If is it will tie the | :05:26. | :05:42.
think up. -- pink. It will be very difficult as Steve said chip a | :05:43. | :06:03.
sizeable break here. -- to make a. It is a tough early morning start | :06:04. | :06:08.
for the players. I remember the great John Spencer in that 1970s, | :06:09. | :06:13.
John used to get up at seven o'clock and would be wondering around | :06:14. | :06:19.
Sheffield speaking to the odd milkmen here and there, just to warm | :06:20. | :06:24.
himself up -- milkmen. -- milkman. Not quite that angle to take the | :06:25. | :07:03.
blue. He could do with that Canon onto the pink and lack and reds to | :07:04. | :07:19.
open things up. -- a cannon. -- black. Now which of these reds will | :07:20. | :07:25.
go into the left corner? It must be tight. I don't think he can get | :07:26. | :07:31.
through to that one. Does not look like it from this site. -- side. | :07:32. | :07:50.
Hmm. Was not a bad effort but it was always going to be difficult stop he | :07:51. | :08:01.
tried to flick that read away. But he had to play the left-hand side to | :08:02. | :08:11.
make the voting angle. -- red. Yes, it would have been impossible to | :08:12. | :08:18.
have played that left-hand side and also stood up for the blue. -- | :08:19. | :08:27.
potting angle. When we talk about the left-hand | :08:28. | :08:44.
side we can show it. Where you strike the ball, imagine it as | :08:45. | :08:50.
so-called face, you are hitting it at nine o'clock. You can create a | :08:51. | :09:02.
slight angle. -- clock face. It played those shots. That looked like | :09:03. | :09:10.
you're cute action. Yes, it was quite good fun. Some of the slow | :09:11. | :09:14.
motion cameras are amazing, what they pick up. -- your cue. Can you | :09:15. | :09:28.
stop talking police. Thank you. -- please. I don't think the referee | :09:29. | :09:37.
was referring to us, some people in the audience. You don't hear that | :09:38. | :09:38.
often. Will he take the risk and try to pop | :09:39. | :09:49.
this. No idea where the cueball will finish. No, just a safety. Pretty | :09:50. | :09:54.
good one. Certainly the best safety shot off | :09:55. | :10:10.
the session so far. Can must get this right. He hit the last one | :10:11. | :10:25.
sick. -- Ken. Excellent reply. -- thick. | :10:26. | :10:36.
They are very evenly matched. Stuart has been the form player for the | :10:37. | :10:47.
last couple of seasons but it is great to see Ken dimity back. They | :10:48. | :10:51.
have only played each other once before in the World Championships in | :10:52. | :10:59.
2002. Coming into the second session that make this still make Stuart | :11:00. | :11:14.
Bingham quite a strong favourite. -- the bookmakers still. Some people | :11:15. | :11:26.
might have had a little punt on Ken Doherty. | :11:27. | :11:32.
I can't see Stuart making the same mistake again. He just does not want | :11:33. | :11:56.
to hit it too thick. He might centred off towards the | :11:57. | :12:04.
right conduct pocket. -- send it. It is probably at Chalk Maki is | :12:05. | :12:30.
pointing at. -- a chalk mark he is. He has missed it again. He will have | :12:31. | :12:37.
two hit it this time, otherwise he will loose the frame. It has | :12:38. | :12:50.
happened in the past. -- to. -- lose. It happened last year. A bit | :12:51. | :12:59.
of pressure because he must hit its thicker now. He had to sacrifice. | :13:00. | :13:14.
Now a chance for Campo achieved. That read goes past the black. That | :13:15. | :13:16.
is the shot to play. -- for Ken. Putting this into the left-hand | :13:17. | :13:34.
corner pocket, not guaranteed to get a position on the black. -- | :13:35. | :13:42.
potting. That was much better. Very little | :13:43. | :14:07.
chance of sniggering himself on the black. The other red into the other, | :14:08. | :14:20.
could have caused a problem. He had to trust a little bit too light and | :14:21. | :14:30.
it has not worked out well for him. -- to luck. Yes, he can consider | :14:31. | :14:39.
himself unfortunate. He could have expected much better from the type | :14:40. | :14:40.
of shot he played. Very nicely played. A bit of | :14:41. | :15:11.
pressure on that shot. How disappointing is that after those | :15:12. | :15:12.
good shots? He has missed three blacks like that | :15:13. | :15:27.
off the spot. You play a really good shot, get yourself in position on | :15:28. | :15:32.
the black, you know if you pop the black you will get yourself going, | :15:33. | :15:37.
so there is pressure and tension on the black even though it is much | :15:38. | :15:39.
easier. -- pot. Positional play from this black will | :15:40. | :15:50.
be pretty critical. If the plant is on it makes it much | :15:51. | :16:22.
easier. If he can choose when to play that, he may choose to lose | :16:23. | :16:29.
red. Try to work out if he can play the plant and runthrough for the | :16:30. | :16:42.
black. He has a massive area to play position. Get the blue on the spot. | :16:43. | :16:50.
Play the plant and use the blue, should he not be able to get on the | :16:51. | :16:52.
black. The plant that you've mentioned | :16:53. | :17:16.
seems to be going slightly to the left side of the pocket. He squeezed | :17:17. | :17:26.
it that way from the line. He did not make contact as intended. That | :17:27. | :17:35.
positional spot on the blue. He had rented manoeuver but he left the | :17:36. | :17:39.
white ball far too close to the question, far too much to do to get | :17:40. | :17:47.
him a colour. -- which in. Not an easy start here for Ken Doherty. | :17:48. | :18:11.
Effectively in this morning session the scores are as close as there | :18:12. | :18:21.
could be. Both these players vying to be the first person to get | :18:22. | :18:31.
going. -- they could. The first frame is always hugely important. | :18:32. | :18:36.
Ken Doherty has another rotten shot to play. I would not like this one. | :18:37. | :18:47.
The Brown was not at but he did not expect to finish this close to that | :18:48. | :19:01.
cushion -- not bad. I think can Doherty has a great chance in this | :19:02. | :19:06.
match because Stuart Bingham looked to be under a little pressure in the | :19:07. | :19:11.
first session having let that 3-0 lead slip by. Meanwhile Ken Doherty | :19:12. | :19:18.
just played a very poor positional shot. He harried it. -- harried. - | :19:19. | :19:34.
hurried. He must make sure he puts that black | :19:35. | :19:51.
and lets the white tape care of itself. -- pots. -- take care. He | :19:52. | :20:11.
concentrated more on that Canon and putting that read on. -- the cannon. | :20:12. | :20:22.
He was committed to making up lost the shot. More mileage left in this | :20:23. | :20:28.
frame. Neither player has really settle down. Positional play has | :20:29. | :20:38.
been the key. That was up Port shot from Stuart. It is the wrong angle | :20:39. | :20:41.
on the black. He could have chosen to get the lot | :20:42. | :21:01.
closer to this thread. He fancies himself with the long shot. -- read. | :21:02. | :21:17.
-- red. Can he get on the reds from a colour? The blue looks to be | :21:18. | :21:36.
ideal. Yes. He had angle to get that left side of them. But both these | :21:37. | :21:44.
rates are tough. -- the angle. He can certainly play at this bottom | :21:45. | :21:56.
red in such a way that it will screw back that read went as well. | :21:57. | :22:02.
Fantastic shot from Stuart Bingham. He now has the most important shot | :22:03. | :22:04.
of the frame so far. -- red. I expected Stuart Dew pot lap. They | :22:05. | :22:42.
are not easy. -- Stuart to pot that. Golden opportunity for Ken Doherty. | :22:43. | :22:47.
All he has to do is continue to keep that what all under control. That is | :22:48. | :22:53.
not ideal to start with. He will have two plate at deep screw back | :22:54. | :23:01.
without of left-hand side. He is not the best power player in the world. | :23:02. | :23:03.
-- play. He seemed to rush that a bit. Two | :23:04. | :23:17.
shots in, he is already out of position. He will be very | :23:18. | :23:24.
disappointed. That is a bad misjudgement. He is nowhere near the | :23:25. | :23:31.
middle pocket. Because of the pacey it. They are both a bit tense in the | :23:32. | :23:50.
opening session. -- pace of it. If Ken Doherty could get square that | :23:51. | :23:53.
would be a terrific performance. Stuart wants to get to France in | :23:54. | :24:07.
front of him. -- two frames. This looks good. It does not matter how | :24:08. | :24:14.
skilfully you are when you are sniggered. -- sniggered. That yellow | :24:15. | :24:29.
needs to pull up but it does not. -- snookered. | :24:30. | :24:33.
He needed a little bit of luck that he did not get it. -- but. | :24:34. | :25:17.
Both these players are feeling nervous. To establish players and | :25:18. | :25:34.
they have the Crucible collywobbles. -- Two established. Can you believe | :25:35. | :25:46.
it? Can looks to the heavens. -- can. -- Ken. | :25:47. | :25:57.
Now he needs some good fortune to knock that green say. It never know | :25:58. | :26:08.
where it will finish. I think a slow swerve off the top cushion would be | :26:09. | :26:16.
the option. It must be more of a full or snooker than it looks on the | :26:17. | :26:31.
television. Ms. The trouble with this shot, he does not want to hit | :26:32. | :26:37.
the far side of the green. If he hits the far side of the green with | :26:38. | :26:41.
any pace he will leave can with the middle of the pocket. -- Ken. | :26:42. | :26:58.
Foul. He could give a few points away. Ken Doherty is having a look. | :26:59. | :27:14.
He doesn't want to hit it on the other side, otherwise he would leave | :27:15. | :27:16.
can Doherty the pot. -- Ken. Fail. -- Foul. He has hit it that | :27:17. | :27:58.
bit thicker and left the pot up into the corner. That is the reason why | :27:59. | :28:07.
he missed a couple of times there. This is definitely a shot that Ken | :28:08. | :28:09.
Doherty is taking on. he hit that a lot better. One shot | :28:10. | :28:25.
with the rest. One good shot with the rest. He was a bit tight on | :28:26. | :28:41.
that. Got the ball in the pocket but he didn't hit it that well. Now he | :28:42. | :28:49.
is far enough away from the blue, thin enough on the blue that getting | :28:50. | :28:54.
on the pink is not easy, either. In a hefty hit it down the table, it is | :28:55. | :29:00.
that thing. He has tried it. And he has played it well. | :29:01. | :29:11.
Absolutely delighted! He had three chances which he let slip away. He | :29:12. | :29:22.
has his chances also. Ken Doherty is all square. I've frames each. -- | :29:23. | :29:28.
five frames each. That is a schoolboy error. After | :29:29. | :29:39.
battling away to win the frame, you break off on the blue. He just hit | :29:40. | :29:45.
the red too thin. The only good thing about that is | :29:46. | :30:06.
that Stuart Bingham, after potting the red is no longer on the blue. | :30:07. | :30:13.
Fantastic shot. Really struck that so well. From the side cushion, he | :30:14. | :30:23.
has cute that beautifully. He certainly cannot be accused of not | :30:24. | :30:27.
playing the positive shots. Trying to get that Lew on the spot | :30:28. | :30:43.
again. He has had to hit it. -- blue. | :30:44. | :30:51.
He needed the white nearer to the cushion to get the correct angle to | :30:52. | :30:57.
get up. You have to call it out here. | :30:58. | :31:08.
That is a pretty good effort. If he is hard enough, it will be on a red | :31:09. | :31:13.
but it will come up short. What a great effort. An absolutely | :31:14. | :31:15.
fantastic strike there. You can't really teach a player to | :31:16. | :31:34.
play that type of shot but Stuart played it with natural talent and | :31:35. | :31:43.
cue action and timing. Considering the first session, when he had a | :31:44. | :31:48.
screw back, there is no easier screw back than that. The black jumped | :31:49. | :31:51.
over the top of the ball. I wonder if he had tipped problems. A small | :31:52. | :32:02.
problem here. Safety wise, he has to be careful playing the raid on the | :32:03. | :32:07.
side cushion. He has to be certain in his own mind that it is not a | :32:08. | :32:09.
double kiss. -- tip problems. That is one from Stuart. A good | :32:10. | :32:37.
chance from Ken. He played it a bit thinner to try to a fully get | :32:38. | :32:41.
another good shot from Ken Doherty. That was very easy to miss. -- to | :32:42. | :32:47.
try to avoid it. Ken's cue action looks a fraction | :32:48. | :33:06.
hurried. It's understandable. He is feeling the heat out there. There is | :33:07. | :33:12.
a transition from the backswing to the hit. He is hurried. That shot | :33:13. | :33:18.
was better. The malt all city gets into the back pockets, the more he | :33:19. | :33:27.
will feel comfortable. -- the more he gets into the back pockets. That | :33:28. | :33:31.
was a poor shot from him, already out of position. He now has to pot a | :33:32. | :33:38.
red and go into the main part of the pack. | :33:39. | :33:48.
That certainly opened up the reds. It isn't where he intended to be. It | :33:49. | :34:00.
is all about a good black. There is pressure and intention on this shot. | :34:01. | :34:08.
That can be seen from the positional play. He can't get the weight of the | :34:09. | :34:14.
table, he can't get his arm free enough to play the fluent type of | :34:15. | :34:24.
snooker that would be easy in practice. | :34:25. | :34:32.
It is all about who can get a hold of the match by the drop of his neck | :34:33. | :34:49.
and cut out the elementary errors. -- scruff of his neck. | :34:50. | :34:55.
For all of the great snooker we see when people are flying on the table, | :34:56. | :35:00.
when you see players who are great players struggling to get themselves | :35:01. | :35:04.
going, it is fascinating. The tension it can do. | :35:05. | :35:13.
Stuart looks a lot freer with his cue action but that first frame | :35:14. | :35:19.
highlighted what is at stake. You have to be careful with the red | :35:20. | :36:01.
on the left side of the table. A natural safety shot down outside. -- | :36:02. | :36:06.
that site. A little bit too hard. A chance here | :36:07. | :36:30.
for Stuart who is a reliable long-potter. You can see Ken in the | :36:31. | :36:37.
background there, peeping around and looking down Stuart's cue action. He | :36:38. | :36:43.
knows that Stuart is under the crunch, so to speak. | :36:44. | :36:54.
Ten years ahead of Stuart in the success rate for the long pot. Past | :36:55. | :37:10.
the pink and red for the middle. Another mistake that. Can this time | :37:11. | :37:54.
has an easier red to go out. The previous one was very tight. -- Ken, | :37:55. | :38:05.
this time, has an easier red to go at. | :38:06. | :38:20.
A good chance now. Ken Doherty looks very focused. | :38:21. | :40:01.
Any harder and that would not have dropped. You see it going into the | :40:02. | :40:09.
left pocket. It makes the positional shot more difficult. | :40:10. | :40:25.
No real problems. Other than making sure you pot the ball here. That is | :40:26. | :40:52.
a nice shot. Ken is starting to play his way into this match. He got off | :40:53. | :40:58.
to a very poor start, losing the first three frames. He now looks | :40:59. | :41:03.
very much like he is going to take the lead. | :41:04. | :41:32.
The two loose reds, should he get them, guarantee that Stuart Bingham | :41:33. | :42:07.
requires snookers. I don't know whether he can reach around for | :42:08. | :42:11.
this. Just about. Just this red needed. APPLAUSE. | :42:12. | :42:31.
Now you will see the difference in the body language of the player. | :42:32. | :42:55.
Much smoother. Much more control. Much more rhythm and training. | :42:56. | :43:04.
Exactly what asset. Like he is over the line in this frame. -- what I | :43:05. | :43:12.
said. Stuart Bingham stays in his seat. What around from the darling | :43:13. | :43:21.
of Dublin. -5 to Ken Doherty. The difference between these two players | :43:22. | :43:25.
and what we noticed on the shop that he played in the last frame that let | :43:26. | :43:30.
him in, Ken Doherty is more prepared to be wily as the frames go on while | :43:31. | :43:37.
Stuart is more attacking. He goes for big shots. Well, he gets | :43:38. | :43:48.
introduced as the darling of Dublin. He has also been called Crafty Ken. | :43:49. | :43:58.
He really is. He is crafty around the table. Stuart has been getting | :43:59. | :44:04.
some great shots from playing a much more modern, aggressive, attacking | :44:05. | :44:05.
game. Not the best on the green bare. | :44:06. | :45:23.
Could have done without the stock never really produced his best at | :45:24. | :45:31.
the Crucible last year. -- could have done without that. He got to | :45:32. | :45:37.
the semifinals last year with his best performance. Put a little quick | :45:38. | :45:51.
one in there. Didn't deliver the cue through in a nice, straight-line. | :45:52. | :45:59.
What he did do was play a shot which had potential for being safe, should | :46:00. | :46:04.
he miss it. That is his wily nature coming out. | :46:05. | :46:10.
Excellent shot from Stuart Bingham. It was played with safety in mind. | :46:11. | :46:26.
It would have been nice to have been a bit shorter. He could have played | :46:27. | :46:29.
the yellow into the middle pocket with some certainty. It is risky | :46:30. | :46:31.
now. Easy to get tight bond is yellow. | :46:32. | :46:50.
Good shot. -- tight on this yellow. I think that Stuart Bingham has been | :46:51. | :46:55.
a different prospect at the World Championships in the past few years. | :46:56. | :46:58.
As we know full well in his first round, it is fraught with terror | :46:59. | :47:03.
even for the favourites. Perhaps more so for the favourites of the | :47:04. | :47:10.
match. If he can just get through that first round, he can start to | :47:11. | :47:20.
settle down in the event. A big win in 2011 when he won the Australian | :47:21. | :47:22.
Open. After that, he seems to be a | :47:23. | :47:35.
different player altogether. He grew in confidence. He certainly lost a | :47:36. | :47:38.
little bit of that confidence. He will have to hang in there and | :47:39. | :47:51.
play some tactical play did just force came into giving him a good | :47:52. | :47:54.
opening. -- just force Ken. He speculated on a double with what | :47:55. | :48:34.
looked like complete safety that he has left can with the possibilities | :48:35. | :48:45.
of a long shot into the corner. -- left Ken. | :48:46. | :48:54.
Look where the red has come. OK, it is not an easy pot but he didn't get | :48:55. | :49:04.
anywhere near the pot which he intended the red to go into. It was | :49:05. | :49:12.
a free shop here. The black has come back up the table. | :49:13. | :49:22.
-- free shot. What a great shot that was to pull | :49:23. | :49:30.
out. This black is admissible but he will go for it. -- missable. | :49:31. | :49:45.
This match is set up beautifully. Stuart Bingham is more of an | :49:46. | :49:54.
opportunist player then Ken Doherty. Ken Doherty has huge experience. | :49:55. | :50:01.
Stuart has a lot of hunger as the snooker player. One of the most | :50:02. | :50:05.
active in recent years, travelling the globe, forging ahead, enjoying | :50:06. | :50:09.
his new-found success in the game. He does not want to be straight, | :50:10. | :50:45.
yuck. The match has been going for four hours. He looks to have a | :50:46. | :50:49.
slight angle but I am not sure where it will be going. That was a pretty | :50:50. | :50:55.
good effort but it was a big ask, even with the cue to try to get the | :50:56. | :51:05.
red. Look at the topspin. It was not good at that angle. Amazing how the | :51:06. | :51:11.
ball sometimes, when played with that amount of topspin, we never | :51:12. | :51:16.
really used to know that it left the table and tell we saw the slow | :51:17. | :51:21.
motion shots. He played the shot and nobody knew what happened. -- until. | :51:22. | :51:29.
Declared a foul. The White has gone in IT declared the shot to be a foul | :51:30. | :51:40.
on himself there. -- gone in but he declared. | :51:41. | :51:46.
I don't think that he touched anything. Maybe a fingernail. I | :51:47. | :51:57.
thought that he pushed it a bit. That is the first... The first long | :51:58. | :52:08.
pocket that Ken have struck nicely. A chance now to go into the pack and | :52:09. | :52:13.
open them up. You have to be careful not to lose the white down the table | :52:14. | :52:16.
when putting the power into the shot. He has got his head very | :52:17. | :52:19.
still. Nicely controlled. Eight. | :52:20. | :52:29.
Every chance now, if we can. This would be four frames in a row | :52:30. | :52:48.
if he can take it. That would really give Stuart Bingham a lot to think | :52:49. | :52:49.
about. He will have to go to the other red. | :52:50. | :53:08.
It will open a few more. It was not the way in ten did but he could | :53:09. | :53:14.
improve it to his advantage. -- intended. He is in with a terrific | :53:15. | :53:28.
chance here. Another ball roll and it would have been perfect. Made | :53:29. | :53:48.
light work of the pink. When a player senses that he is on the | :53:49. | :53:54.
brink of forging an advantage in the match, he has to be careful to stay | :53:55. | :54:02.
relaxed and calm. He has to be fired up enough with the adrenaline to | :54:03. | :54:10.
produce the snooker. He is getting to the stage where he is beginning | :54:11. | :54:15.
to believe much more in himself then he did a couple of frames ago. | :54:16. | :54:42.
I just noticed that he has given himself a bit more time now in the | :54:43. | :55:21.
shot. Sometimes it is one or two seconds but it stops you from | :55:22. | :55:26.
rushing in and making a careless mistake. | :55:27. | :55:30.
38. He has sped up his walk around the | :55:31. | :55:39.
table but fractionally showdown is cue action. That is the correct way | :55:40. | :55:47.
to be. -- slowed down. Ken is 21 seconds, one second ahead | :55:48. | :55:59.
of Stuart Bingham. There is a chance here to make it four frames in a | :56:00. | :56:01.
row. APPLAUSE. He looks as though he is playing the | :56:02. | :56:31.
cannon so those heads are not available. He played that shot well. | :56:32. | :56:40.
He knew that he was one for the middle at least. 53. | :56:41. | :56:49.
He was hoping to be on the red in the left middle pocket but the | :56:50. | :56:57.
cannon just didn't work out. It should not be a problem, this. | :56:58. | :57:09.
Another red required and he has gone out of position. APPLAUSE. | :57:10. | :57:22.
Effectively, he needs to pot the blue to win the frame. It is not an | :57:23. | :57:31.
in-off but it needs good viewing. It will come off the cushion behind the | :57:32. | :57:37.
black, the white, and goes off the middle pocket. That is why he has | :57:38. | :57:40.
given himself more time. He knows this. | :57:41. | :57:45.
APPLAUSE. Well played. 59. The difference is | :57:46. | :57:56.
40. Just this red required. Absolutely sure, but... Can't | :57:57. | :58:26.
believe that. You would have thought with the red | :58:27. | :58:53.
over the pocket he was almost guaranteed to get an easy positional | :58:54. | :58:58.
shot after it to clinch the frame. Perhaps he thought the first blue, | :58:59. | :59:09.
he had done the hard work. Finishing on that right side cushion made it | :59:10. | :59:10.
awkward. He will have those put back. We know | :59:11. | :59:29.
the brand was on its spot. He has to get the blue right antecubital | :59:30. | :59:34.
right. He may need help from the monocle. The blue definitely would | :59:35. | :59:46.
not pot -- monitor. It's not too bad. | :59:47. | :59:56.
That blue at the moment a bit of insurance for Ken Doherty. This is a | :59:57. | :00:06.
great escape from Ken Doherty hair. -- here. | :00:07. | :00:34.
Ferry could effort from Stuart Bingham that. -- varied. -- Very. -- | :00:35. | :00:53.
there. Stuart refuses. Does not refuse many | :00:54. | :01:06.
of these. Usually very reliable on them. But up bit of pressure on this | :01:07. | :01:23.
shot. -- a. Fantastic shot. Unlucky. Hit that as well as he could have | :01:24. | :01:24.
hoped. It will be a pretty relieved Ken | :01:25. | :01:36.
Doherty, I can tell you, after he missed that blue and was snookered. | :01:37. | :01:43.
It was not looking all that could for the Dubliner, but it is now. -- | :01:44. | :01:47.
good. Dolly is the red into the pocket. -- | :01:48. | :02:09.
Dollies. Credit to Cannes for this performance. It means so much to | :02:10. | :02:20.
him. -- Ken. He has put so much practice in. It seems to be paying | :02:21. | :02:23.
off. He was 5-3 behind. Ken Doherty has | :02:24. | :03:10.
won four frames in a row. He now holds a 2-friendly. -- 2-frame. | :03:11. | :03:34.
This is a massive shot. Once again, continuing to be very aggressive. He | :03:35. | :03:51.
got away with it. He has not left anything. That is amazing. | :03:52. | :04:00.
I think it is tough when you are out there not to panic and start to just | :04:01. | :04:11.
want to get a ball in the pocket. Sometimes you need a little more | :04:12. | :04:17.
restraint. But it is a very fine line. The plant was on. Stuart | :04:18. | :04:24.
fancied it. So why not go for it? Port safety shot from Ken Doherty. | :04:25. | :04:36.
Trying to create an angle but he missed it. Suddenly, signs that Ken | :04:37. | :04:50.
Doherty is getting the upper hand. Stuart got away with the previous | :04:51. | :04:54.
shot when he left everything safe. He needs to get to the interval to | :04:55. | :04:58.
regroup. But what will the school beat. -- what will the school be? | :04:59. | :05:11.
Ken Doherty knows the significance. -- score. He can really put the | :05:12. | :05:19.
screws on. This is the equivalent of a boxer having the other guy on the | :05:20. | :05:21.
ropes. He needs to do more damage before | :05:22. | :05:38.
the bell rings. He did not play that very well. He was relying on a | :05:39. | :05:49.
cannon. It is all about keeping close control of that few all. Yes, | :05:50. | :05:57.
he did not get nicely on the blue from the first red. | :05:58. | :06:05.
He went cannon the red. He will just slip past the red. -- won't. | :06:06. | :06:34.
He is coming around to have a look at the black. | :06:35. | :06:44.
Ten has quite a loose group with his backhand. Not a bad thing under | :06:45. | :07:03.
pressure. -- Ken. There are two players in their game | :07:04. | :07:33.
with the same grip. -- I don't think there are. A lot of unusual groups | :07:34. | :07:39.
at top-class level. Obviously if you grip the cute tightly there will be | :07:40. | :07:46.
tension in the forum. So it is not a bad thing to not be gripping to | :07:47. | :08:03.
tight. -- Forum. - forearm. Perhaps you grip more with that some or the | :08:04. | :08:06.
first finger. Perhaps less. This will be filed frames in a row | :08:07. | :08:53.
if he can take this. -- five. OK, he has had some help from his opponent, | :08:54. | :08:58.
but you still have to do it. Stuart has not relaxed this morning. | :08:59. | :09:11.
Short of pace there. By quite some way. He has the upper hand in this | :09:12. | :09:22.
frame. He should be when he is in this position he will convert the | :09:23. | :09:27.
frame. He does not make many tactical mistakes. He did not | :09:28. | :09:37.
attempt to block that. That was a safety shot. The previous positional | :09:38. | :09:43.
shot he seemed to stun it rather than put topspin. That is how he | :09:44. | :09:47.
snookered himself. Nice shot. Wasn't easy to cover the | :09:48. | :09:56.
reds. He would be very happy that. Can't | :09:57. | :10:19.
argue with hitting the ball the length of the table that accurately. | :10:20. | :10:32.
Stuart did not want to collide with the bump. It will be tough to force | :10:33. | :10:42.
an error from Ken now. This, he is so knowledgeable. | :10:43. | :10:49.
-- yes. He needed a little bit more pace on that. Having said that, they | :10:50. | :11:00.
can earn on the pink has put Stuart in all sorts of trouble. | :11:01. | :11:08.
Good shot. Clever shot. Obviously the routes that were all on the top | :11:09. | :11:26.
cushion were going to stay there with | :11:27. | :11:33.
Safety. -- with safety. There is a chance for Stuart here. | :11:34. | :12:27.
That was a poor effort from Ken but he got away with it. | :12:28. | :12:50.
He wanted to get behind the brown. He is a bit short of pace. | :12:51. | :13:07.
Good, confident long pot. He is looking at the black. If he drops it | :13:08. | :13:36.
in here will finish over the red on the right side of the table. Nicely | :13:37. | :13:38.
played. 37 ahead. He wanted a slight angle | :13:39. | :13:55.
on this thread that it looks fairly straight. -- red. | :13:56. | :14:04.
They see pot to red and scrip back for the blue? It is not ideal for | :14:05. | :14:17.
the black stop -- C. He got the wrong side of the black. -- Does he. | :14:18. | :14:30.
But he is still in letting points. Pop the black, play a decent safety | :14:31. | :14:35.
shot. He does not even need to pop the black. In hindsight, looking at | :14:36. | :14:43.
the situation, you would not have put round safe there. It would not | :14:44. | :14:50.
have been a bad choice because he has no insurance. Clement fantastic | :14:51. | :15:03.
shot. -- fantastic. But still all footballs are out in | :15:04. | :15:27.
the open. -- the balls. Some top players would have put the ball is | :15:28. | :15:32.
safe. Has a great chance to get behind the yellow. | :15:33. | :15:39.
He hit it too thick. That is a bad shot from Ken. He has got it safe. | :15:40. | :15:51.
He is annoyed with himself. He knew he could have had Stuart in all | :15:52. | :15:53.
sorts of trouble there. The cue ball needs to pull up. Wow. | :15:54. | :16:14.
Stuart was convinced it was going in-off. That would not be allowed. | :16:15. | :16:26.
You can't do that. You can try but you can away with it. -- you won't. | :16:27. | :16:44.
Ashe get away with it. -- get. It makes it very awkward cueing with a | :16:45. | :16:53.
white so close to the pocket. This could be a free ball. | :16:54. | :17:01.
It Dunne it is not at free ball. No damage done. It has just cost Ken | :17:02. | :17:23.
four points. -- it is not. He forgot what could it was in. How is that | :17:24. | :17:38.
customer -- that? That is why they call him the darling of Dublin. | :17:39. | :17:47.
That is not what better but it was a difficult shot and he will leave an | :17:48. | :17:54.
opportunity for Stuart. I don't know if this route goes past the black. | :17:55. | :17:59.
That's the one he wants to take because the black is out of | :18:00. | :18:01.
commission at the moment. -- this red. Can he pop that? He could pop | :18:02. | :18:09.
out and play at deep screw for the blue. -- pot. -- a deep. Stuart is | :18:10. | :18:25.
really suffering at the moment. Ken Pisi jump on chance because he knows | :18:26. | :18:32.
he can go to the interval with bigger lead. Stuart has been left | :18:33. | :18:38.
with a lot of automatic shots. If you don't get the right, you feel | :18:39. | :18:45.
like you have panicked. He has faced a lot of difficult decisions this | :18:46. | :18:48.
morning This looks pretty good. Barring that | :18:49. | :19:36.
snooker, Ken Doherty has won five frames in a row. | :19:37. | :19:47.
Safety. Good session for Ken Doherty. He has taken all four | :19:48. | :19:56.
frames and he must be absolutely delighted. He needs Stuart Ring | :19:57. | :20:06.
eight frames to five. -- leads Stuart Bingham. | :20:07. | :20:15.
Look at the difference in his percentage. That is the story of why | :20:16. | :20:44.
he has won five frames in a row. Stuart did not settle in the first | :20:45. | :20:52.
four frames. At keyframe coming up. He must take this. | :20:53. | :21:00.
When you think back to Ken, it is 2006 since he got past the first | :21:01. | :22:13.
round. Missed out at GE is in the final qualifying round. Last year he | :22:14. | :22:26.
lost 10-9. -- a few times. He kissed the carpet. He keeps bouncing back. | :22:27. | :22:40.
Can knock it is our class act. -- is a. | :22:41. | :22:45.
Has he got that gap? Pink and black, I think, which is a bonus. Routes to | :22:46. | :23:00.
the right of the black are causing problems for continuation of the | :23:01. | :23:08.
black. -- those two reds. Once it was the right hand red it clears the | :23:09. | :23:14.
path of the other red and the black completely. | :23:15. | :23:23.
He is not really on it. Out much sooner cut than he would have liked. | :23:24. | :23:36.
But I would expect him to get it, to be quite honest. | :23:37. | :23:51.
That red that Steve mentioned, it is not easy to get onto that rate. -- | :23:52. | :24:13.
red. That is not the best shot he has | :24:14. | :24:25.
ever played. Yes, but he has kept on to red. It could have been a bit | :24:26. | :24:31.
closer to the pink. He has given himself a chance to pot it. Yes, the | :24:32. | :24:46.
red passes the black. That is a different story completely. He kept | :24:47. | :24:58.
that to yourself. The overhead camera looked like it would not, | :24:59. | :25:04.
that we clearly showed you it could. -- but we clearly. | :25:05. | :25:15.
The pink was not touching the red. Yes, he needed the pink to descend | :25:16. | :25:33.
into the Ritz. He did not want to risk eating it too hard. -- heating. | :25:34. | :25:51.
-- into the reds. -- heating. This is very difficult for Stuart. -- | :25:52. | :26:05.
hitting. He is a great player and is being asked at big question this | :26:06. | :26:10.
morning. It is tough being the favourite in a match. He would not | :26:11. | :26:15.
have been the favourite of a few years ago against Ken Doherty. He | :26:16. | :26:24.
knew he hit it too thin. The cue went up in the air. There is at | :26:25. | :26:34.
chance for Ken Doherty. One could shut and he is right in amongst | :26:35. | :26:44.
them. He led for the pink. But he is OK, he is on the black. -- he | :26:45. | :26:47.
played. It is all about whether Ken can now | :26:48. | :27:02.
hold himself together because this is the sort of position he has not | :27:03. | :27:06.
been in for a long time. He is right back with a big voice. He feels he | :27:07. | :27:13.
can still compete. This will be a weak frame for him, but he still | :27:14. | :27:15.
needs to frames. -- two. He would be varied keen to make a | :27:16. | :27:38.
telling break. -- very. He has more of this broken the back of the | :27:39. | :27:46.
match. Not planning players come back from 9-5. -- not many. The lot | :27:47. | :27:55.
of pressure building up on Ken Doherty to get this frame in the | :27:56. | :27:56.
bag. Nicely screwed back for the other | :27:57. | :28:25.
reds in the middle of the pack. Just channelled through for the black. | :28:26. | :28:34.
There really isn't any reason why he shouldn't win in this visit. Other | :28:35. | :28:40.
than the tension which is going to build-up. It is down to Ken Fidelity | :28:41. | :28:46.
to make sure that his positional play is so strong that he does not | :28:47. | :28:51.
give himself a difficult shot to myths. -- to miss. | :28:52. | :29:06.
They have played each other on eight occasions. It is four each. Stuart | :29:07. | :29:20.
has been getting the better. The big one was the World Championship where | :29:21. | :29:26.
they had met once before in 2002. Ken Doherty was the winner 10-8 | :29:27. | :29:30.
frames. This is quite remarkable, really. It | :29:31. | :30:14.
will be six frames in a row if he takes this and he is already 57 in | :30:15. | :30:15.
front. Ken looks pretty composed. Inside, | :30:16. | :30:40.
he would be quite tense but he has that three frame advantage. Very | :30:41. | :30:44.
soon, it will be four. 37. | :30:45. | :31:00.
He only leads the black to leave Stuart needing a snooker. The most | :31:01. | :31:06.
important part is to knock the black. | :31:07. | :31:25.
You are safe in this square. Think to make absolutely certain. -- pink. | :31:26. | :32:01.
The thing is, he is doing it in style. He is winning the frame with | :32:02. | :32:04.
this visit. He has missed the red but Stuart is | :32:05. | :32:27.
going to stay in his seat. What a number this has been. Ken Doherty | :32:28. | :32:33.
has taken another frame. He needs just one more frame to get through | :32:34. | :32:39.
to the next round. Quite remarkable. From 3-0 down, the darling of Dublin | :32:40. | :32:45.
has battled to winning six frames in a row. Quite remarkable against | :32:46. | :32:47.
someone like Stuart Bingham. But it is never over until it is | :32:48. | :33:02.
over, as they say. Stuart Bingham has got to win five frames in a | :33:03. | :33:11.
row. You have to start thinking to yourself that my opponent has won | :33:12. | :33:21.
six in a row. Why can't I do it? That is a little indication that | :33:22. | :33:27.
that he really is under. He hit that on the wrong side completely. Such a | :33:28. | :33:36.
good long Potter but let us have a look at this one. Stuart Bingham is | :33:37. | :33:44.
one of the nicest fellows you could ever meet but he is under the kosh | :33:45. | :33:53.
at the moment. This will open things up. Where is | :33:54. | :34:29.
that red going? He has fluked it. He hasn't. He has covered it but I am | :34:30. | :34:36.
sure that can can find a red to plan to the one that is over the pocket. | :34:37. | :34:45.
OK, the reds and blacks are out of commission somewhat. We will get the | :34:46. | :34:50.
cue ball and go on to the blue if he can get the plants. -- red to plant. | :34:51. | :35:00.
-- get the plant. I'm pretty certain that he will plant the red. I | :35:01. | :35:05.
thought that one red on to the other was more guaranteed to get position. | :35:06. | :35:11.
I suppose that this has made certain of the raid. He had to do that. I | :35:12. | :35:17.
think that he can cut this black in. -- make sure of the red. Has the | :35:18. | :35:24.
advantage. He will take it on. If this goes in, he will have the | :35:25. | :35:31.
chance. It is not an easy black but if he fancies it, | :35:32. | :35:43.
The black will only be available in one pocket if it is spotted. He is | :35:44. | :35:48.
certainly growing in confidence. The blue is not easy to get on from | :35:49. | :36:01.
the red in the right-hand corner. He has another one in the left corner. | :36:02. | :36:09.
Back up at 90%. That is good overall, considering that he was in | :36:10. | :36:20.
the low 80 s earlier in the match. Ideally, he wants to stay in the top | :36:21. | :36:26.
part of the table. He has the other colours if he needs to. That has not | :36:27. | :36:31.
come out nicely. That would have been the first to go down for a ball | :36:32. | :36:36.
colour they are. And he is hampered slightly now. Pink could go slightly | :36:37. | :36:41.
now. It is a little bit awkward. What a chance that was. Just that | :36:42. | :37:00.
little flick on the raid which him hampered. Otherwise he was in | :37:01. | :37:07.
amongst them. -- on the red. What a test for Stuart Bingham. He has sat | :37:08. | :37:12.
in his seat for most of this session. Let's see if he can string | :37:13. | :37:20.
a few together. He needs something to happen. | :37:21. | :37:29.
He looks to have a problem on the red to the right of the black. | :37:30. | :37:57.
This is not good. Or is it? It looks like he could lay on those two. | :37:58. | :38:11.
That is an awful long way back for Stuart Bingham. This could be the | :38:12. | :38:15.
start of the comeback. That will do nicely. That is not a | :38:16. | :39:26.
straightforward chance, the way the reds are situated. | :39:27. | :40:03.
Can on that red is a lot nicer than Stuart was. -- Ken. He can open the | :40:04. | :40:12.
black up here and get the reds into play. Still some work to do to win | :40:13. | :40:17.
the frame. Ken, as we learned earlier, is the | :40:18. | :41:03.
oldest player in this year's World Championship at 44. Alan McManus is | :41:04. | :41:07.
starting to roll back the years as well at the age of 43. | :41:08. | :41:34.
match. Some of those reds are close. On the left, goes past of the yellow | :41:35. | :41:40.
into the pocket and maybe the other as well. One of these goes into the | :41:41. | :41:47.
corner pocket. That is a critical part of this break. How and when to | :41:48. | :41:57.
go about trying to get on those? Reds. -- those two reds. | :41:58. | :42:11.
If he can get nicely on that red, he could play the cannon onto those two | :42:12. | :42:16.
rates. He doesn't have to go about it. If he could pot this off the | :42:17. | :42:21.
cushion and bring them both into play, that might be his plane here. | :42:22. | :42:30.
-- two reds. -- his plan here. Ideal shot. | :42:31. | :42:42.
If he pots does open reds, he is not high and dry. He neither what -- in | :42:43. | :42:54.
its another one here. Even if he potted the two reds and didn't get | :42:55. | :43:00.
the third, he would be in an advantageous position. -- he needs | :43:01. | :43:13.
another one. If he gets to reds and dropped | :43:14. | :43:18.
another one into the pocket, that would be enough to clinch it for | :43:19. | :43:24.
him. He will be well aware about crafty Ken. -- two reds. | :43:25. | :43:33.
He does not want to be playing for this difficult one just yet so the | :43:34. | :43:37.
black for that red near the middle and hopefully drop this one near the | :43:38. | :43:43.
black. It is easier when your opponent is not really firing on all | :43:44. | :43:48.
cylinders to look good around the table but at this match has grown, | :43:49. | :43:53.
Ken has looked better and better, more assured and much more | :43:54. | :43:55.
competitive. It has been a tough session. At | :43:56. | :44:08.
being, that is for certain. He has looked good in terms of queueing but | :44:09. | :44:11.
has not been able to get the points on the board. -- a tough session for | :44:12. | :44:17.
Stuart Bingham. He looked at the red. He has to look at the right | :44:18. | :44:25.
side of the table. That is quite a bit of risk. He may not bother with | :44:26. | :44:36.
that. He wants to get as close as possible to the circle. It would be | :44:37. | :44:42.
ideal to get the white into that circle and roll the raid along. He | :44:43. | :44:46.
might be able to do that on the pink. Let's see how close he can get | :44:47. | :44:57.
from this angle. APPLAUSE. It's all about the shot now. What | :44:58. | :45:01.
does he do? Roll it along the cushion? What we have seen this | :45:02. | :45:06.
year, the balls are happy going along the top cushion and dropping | :45:07. | :45:11.
in. I think that if he plays the dead weight, he gets it. It clings | :45:12. | :45:24.
and goes in. No. No. Oh, yes! It's in. When they hit the cushion, it | :45:25. | :45:33.
normally does not do win. It hesitated and then gravity took | :45:34. | :45:38.
over. Buckets. In my opinion, that is a little bit too generous for a | :45:39. | :45:46.
World Championship table. They are new costs and they tend to go in a | :45:47. | :45:51.
little easier. That type of shot would probably stay there. -- new | :45:52. | :45:57.
cloths. Stuart Bingham is carrying on but | :45:58. | :46:02.
what a performance from the crafty Ken Doherty. He takes the match 10- | :46:03. | :46:07.
five. 48 is the difference. Just 35 | :46:08. | :46:18.
remaining on the table. I think that it is a foregone | :46:19. | :46:33.
conclusion but Stuart is carrying on. It has been the disappointing | :46:34. | :46:39.
session for Stuart. He has not performed and taking nothing away | :46:40. | :46:46.
from Ken's performance. He alluded in the opening frame that Stuart | :46:47. | :46:50.
could have opened up to advantage. It has been all Ken Doherty. | :46:51. | :47:07.
Foul. You left of the green ball. It felt guilty when that red went into | :47:08. | :47:19.
the top cushion. Ken is probably still feeling OK. Stuart is more or | :47:20. | :47:26.
less obligated to have an attempt at a pot here. 44 points behind. He is | :47:27. | :47:36.
unlikely to get many occasion to get foul points from Ken. Is he lining | :47:37. | :47:42.
up a double? I don't know. I don't see the value in playing safe. He | :47:43. | :47:47.
needs three Snooker is at the moment. -- three snookers. | :47:48. | :48:00.
The double turned into a travel. -- a treble. | :48:01. | :48:06.
He played it in such a way that he gave himself a chance with the | :48:07. | :48:15.
treble, as well. He really must pot this is brown. All of a sudden, from | :48:16. | :48:22.
needing four snookers, he can tie with one. Can you believe it? Can he | :48:23. | :48:27.
roll it up? I don't think he can roll it up. He has played then. It | :48:28. | :48:36.
just hasn't got it. It could have been a beautiful Snooker. | :48:37. | :48:40.
Fractionally too thick on the raid. Too keen on that red -- red. | :48:41. | :48:54.
He is now going to put himself through it. He was virtually into | :48:55. | :49:08.
the second round and all of a sudden just one Snooker was needed. This | :49:09. | :49:14.
one has Stuart and will stick this one up, I think. Maybe not. Ken will | :49:15. | :49:23.
finish it. If the red does not pass the pink, he will play in the | :49:24. | :49:25.
Snooker. If it passes the pink, the pink, he will play in the | :49:26. | :49:34.
He's having a look from both sides. It flies in. He is just getting it. | :49:35. | :49:38.
He is not playing it. Doesn't have to play. It was not a | :49:39. | :49:56.
good attempt at a Snooker. He has left Stuart avenues to get out. | :49:57. | :50:12.
Thick and slow is the order of the day. Make sure you don't go into the | :50:13. | :50:16.
top pocket, of course. Just put the red over the pocket. | :50:17. | :50:37.
Very tough for Snooker players. Tough to get a ball from the jaws of | :50:38. | :50:42.
a pocket. Good effort from Stuart Bingham. Not good enough. | :50:43. | :50:50.
He may have to bring in the green into play here. He doesn't want to | :50:51. | :50:56.
do that but he can only see the right-hand side of the raid. -- red. | :50:57. | :51:05.
The reason he swerved so that he didn't bring the green into play... | :51:06. | :51:14.
He needs to avoid the double kiss, here. Once again, very good effort. | :51:15. | :51:31.
Not too sure he would be able to swerve that one if he is snookered. | :51:32. | :51:34.
A fact. -- perfect. That it is out of | :51:35. | :51:54.
commission now as well. Ken is popping his cheeks. That has helped | :51:55. | :52:01.
Ken in as much as the blue is quite an important all when snookering | :52:02. | :52:13.
your opponent on a full consignment of colours and one red. You can't | :52:14. | :52:19.
use it on the diagonal. The ideal position, the ball for Snooker | :52:20. | :52:23.
ring, is the black in this situation. -- snookering. Players | :52:24. | :52:31.
are usually aware of making certain that their opponents don't get an | :52:32. | :52:37.
easy opportunity for that. Ken has a chance to get behind the black year. | :52:38. | :52:49.
This is a great shot. -- black here. When your opponent needs one Snooker | :52:50. | :52:53.
to tie, that is the best thing that you can do. Snooker him. Stuart | :52:54. | :52:59.
Bingham may be staring his last shot in the face here at the Crucible | :53:00. | :53:02.
this year unless he hits it. Perhaps not his last shot even if he | :53:03. | :53:12.
misses it. He will get another go. Ken would be feeling a lot better | :53:13. | :53:28.
now. Stuart's job gets harder. The trouble is for Stuart Bingham, | :53:29. | :54:19.
is that he is straight to get a really good Snooker, when it is hard | :54:20. | :54:27.
enough getting a Snooker but stopping quality players from | :54:28. | :54:36.
getting out of them easily is hard. He is in a nice position now. You | :54:37. | :54:48.
want them closer to a cushion. It is not easy with the red situated | :54:49. | :54:52.
behind the pink but it is better now. Stuart also has to keep the red | :54:53. | :54:59.
say. He doesn't just have to try to get the Snooker sometimes. It is all | :55:00. | :55:03.
about keeping the ball safe and waiting for another chance. | :55:04. | :56:16.
The winner of this match will play the winner of the all Scottish duel. | :56:17. | :56:33.
McManus had a fine win against Mark Williams in the last qualifying | :56:34. | :56:40.
round in Sheffield just before this event. A lot of people are saying | :56:41. | :56:52.
that the John Higgins -McManus match will be a classic, not as one-sided | :56:53. | :56:56.
as it would have once been considered a few years ago. McManus | :56:57. | :57:05.
is playing some superb stuff. Meanwhile, Ken Doherty is looking | :57:06. | :57:08.
for this long pot into the right corner. To secure victory here. | :57:09. | :57:20.
Didn't get anywhere close to that. He still should be feeling pretty | :57:21. | :57:27.
comfortable and be absolutely delighted with himself but for | :57:28. | :57:33.
Snooker is needed became one and now it is back to two. -- four snookers | :57:34. | :57:41.
needed. This red is heading towards the corner pocket. This could be the | :57:42. | :57:50.
end for Stuart Bingham. Stuart was the firm favourite for this match. | :57:51. | :57:58.
Ken didn't know that he was there. It is unbelievable to see that | :57:59. | :58:01.
happen. Well done Stuart Bingham and well done to Ken Doherty. He has | :58:02. | :58:08.
rolled back the years. The Darling of Dublin. He will be over the moon. | :58:09. | :58:16.
He won all seven frames to defeat Stuart Bingham ten frames to five. | :58:17. | :58:22.
Great to see him into the second round. The first time he has been | :58:23. | :58:27.
there since 2006. More action from the Crucible Theatre later today. We | :58:28. | :58:43.
will see them now, goodbye. -- see you then. For now, goodbye. | :58:44. | :59:05.
Ted, I... I'm not interested in coming to see Lady Gaga, sir. | :59:06. | :59:08. |
