Hello, good afternoon, welcome to the BBC's dovage of the 2016 world | :00:22. | :00:29.
figure skating Championship, taking place in Boston. Robin is alongside | :00:30. | :00:33.
me to enjoy the action here, and we have some of the world's best figure | :00:34. | :00:37.
skater, gathered in one place, who are the ones to watch? I am | :00:38. | :00:42.
obviously drawn to the men's Championship, and it is Fernandez | :00:43. | :00:47.
from Spain versus Hanyu, they are rival, training mate, they know each | :00:48. | :00:53.
other well, one is world champion UN and one is Olympic champion. It will | :00:54. | :00:56.
be a fantastic event. In the pairs skating it will be interesting | :00:57. | :00:59.
because there are some Russians who have missed a season coming back, | :01:00. | :01:05.
there is a new partnership with the Russian French together, | :01:06. | :01:08.
representing Germany, so it is going to be all for play there, the | :01:09. | :01:11.
Chinese will be looking to sort of get themselves on to a medal podium | :01:12. | :01:14.
position, so the pairs is wide-open for me, and it is going to be | :01:15. | :01:19.
anybody's game. The ladies event, we thought it was going to be a Russian | :01:20. | :01:23.
dominated event but the Americans girls have said we want in on this. | :01:24. | :01:27.
The American team in general have had a horrific time, being told they | :01:28. | :01:31.
are over the hill, they are not good enough, we haven't got anybody on | :01:32. | :01:35.
the podium, and this has been a real event for them, in the home crowds, | :01:36. | :01:42.
on home turf to show they I are in a position to win. And in the ice | :01:43. | :01:48.
dance it is about the French champions, European champions who I | :01:49. | :01:51.
hope will be able to retain their title. They have had a rough season, | :01:52. | :01:57.
Gabrielle Papadakis concussed earlier in the year, they competed | :01:58. | :02:00.
at the European Championship, won it in style. Here they are to hopefully | :02:01. | :02:03.
retain their title. But they are going to get some push from the two | :02:04. | :02:07.
American teams who hope they will be on the podium, but I am looking | :02:08. | :02:11.
forward the seeing Penny Coomes and Nicholas Buckland, back on the | :02:12. | :02:14.
stage, having had a horrible season last year, they missed the European | :02:15. | :02:18.
Championship, and the World Champions through illness, but they | :02:19. | :02:21.
have worked, I can't tell you how hard they have worked to get back up | :02:22. | :02:25.
into form and they are raring and ready to go, and I am hoping to see | :02:26. | :02:30.
great things. So are we raring to go. We have four big event, lots of | :02:31. | :02:34.
talent for you to watch. Let us start with the ice dancing. | :02:35. | :02:41.
Let us join the action. So here are the standings after the | :02:42. | :02:47.
short dance, reigning World Champion Gabrielle Papadakis and Guillaume | :02:48. | :02:51.
Cizeron of France lead the way, two American teams in second and third | :02:52. | :02:56.
for now. Penny Coomes and Nicholas Buckland not far behind in eighth | :02:57. | :02:59.
after a massive personal best in the short dance for them. | :03:00. | :03:07.
Tenth at the 2014 winter Olympics, one better, ninth at the World | :03:08. | :03:11.
Championships a month later, what a terrible 2015 they had. Illness and | :03:12. | :03:15.
injury, striking them down. But here they are. Back on the ice, after a | :03:16. | :03:21.
personal best in the short dance. Let us see if they can match that | :03:22. | :03:22.
with this. So that box you see shows the | :03:23. | :04:28.
technical score, that ticks up as they complete the elements, that | :04:29. | :04:31.
score will be combined with the presentation score to give the final | :04:32. | :04:33.
total. You can breathe, wonderful, | :04:34. | :07:37.
wonderful stuff from Penny Coomes and Nicholas Buckland, That was the | :07:38. | :07:43.
best I have seen that performance, all season. Beautiful control with | :07:44. | :07:48.
the lifts, it has speed, there is great depth of edge, this was | :07:49. | :08:02.
lovely. Look, now, not a waiver. A season's best for them. A season's | :08:03. | :08:09.
best. Over the 100, over 54 plus points for the technical elements. | :08:10. | :08:13.
Then over 50 points for the component presentation, which is | :08:14. | :08:17.
brilliant. Before I went I was so nervous, I | :08:18. | :08:21.
had this feeling, gosh, it is all on this moment. This is what we have | :08:22. | :08:24.
worked for, we worked for this World Championships twice now and not, in | :08:25. | :08:28.
the first time round we didn't quite get there, so I was super nervous, | :08:29. | :08:33.
it felt like it was all on this, somehow, with all the training work | :08:34. | :08:36.
we have put in, we have learned a lot. We have become resilient and | :08:37. | :08:42.
put it on the ice. I am happy. A It is two seasons of this free dance, I | :08:43. | :08:46.
am really pleased with how we handled the pressure. I am happy | :08:47. | :08:51.
with it. A great performance, but by the time we reached the last three | :08:52. | :08:54.
teams they had dropped to fourth place. | :08:55. | :09:02.
As you would expect a warm welcome for last year's silver medallists. | :09:03. | :09:07.
Can they go one better here in Boston, in front of their home | :09:08. | :09:10.
crowd? It has been a challenging season, they say, the most | :09:11. | :09:14.
challenging of their careers but consistent result, let us see what | :09:15. | :09:16.
they can pull out of the bag here. Well the home crowd have loved that. | :09:17. | :13:41.
I loved that too. So did they. I thought that was cracking. It was | :13:42. | :13:48.
fast, they were so secure in all the movements, some wonderful transition | :13:49. | :13:54.
work in there. Again, smooth. Beautiful exit, transition here. | :13:55. | :14:02.
Their free dance score 113.31. This is a season's best. First place for | :14:03. | :14:07.
now. Out to prove a point perhaps after they lost their US national | :14:08. | :14:16.
title. They did to the Shibutanis who have yet to skate. The reins | :14:17. | :14:21.
world and European champions from France. Robin has his money on these | :14:22. | :14:24.
for the title. Beautiful! It looks easy, doesn't | :14:25. | :15:42.
it? APPLAUSE | :15:43. | :18:43.
Languid and lovely, and it looks so effortless. | :18:44. | :18:47.
Effortless, every edge, from both of them, is perfection. You could watch | :18:48. | :18:52.
the programme again and watch just one of them, and you would still be | :18:53. | :19:04.
in awe. That is a massive, massive score. They could well be the world | :19:05. | :19:13.
and be in is, these are the only skaters that can stop them from | :19:14. | :19:18.
topping the podium again, the Shibutani twins from America. | :19:19. | :22:11.
Well, it is the finale that the home crowd wanted, a Coldplay medley for | :22:12. | :23:47.
the US national champions, but is it going to be enough to snatch the | :23:48. | :23:52.
gold from the French? I don't think so. They had the momentum to carry | :23:53. | :23:56.
them through, they allowed themselves to be caught by the | :23:57. | :24:01.
crowd, but not at the expense of not being in control. 113.7 three. They | :24:02. | :24:12.
are in second place. That is it! That would be fantastic news, look | :24:13. | :24:17.
at that, seventh in the world, Penny Coomes and NIcholas Buckland. | :24:18. | :24:22.
Fantastic from them, they will be so thrilled, won't they? Absolutely | :24:23. | :24:27.
over the moon. Wonder. From the French, there was no beating them, | :24:28. | :24:33.
or was there? -- wonderful staff from the French. It is so beautiful | :24:34. | :24:40.
to be able to relax and just relax, he is one of those people that he | :24:41. | :24:43.
would put him with anybody, he would be able to make them feel like a | :24:44. | :24:48.
worthy world champion, but they were exquisite today. And a fantastic | :24:49. | :24:53.
performance from the Brits, they did brilliantly. I know you were | :24:54. | :24:56.
watching with your heart in your mouth. They worked, they performed, | :24:57. | :25:00.
they delivered in a way which I have never seen them do before, because | :25:01. | :25:04.
they were completely ready. It has been a tough season, but, boy, with | :25:05. | :25:10.
a ready. Moving on now to the men's free skate, and this is the story of | :25:11. | :25:15.
the championship for me, the rivalry between the training partners, Hanyu | :25:16. | :25:23.
and Fernandez. It is going to be a great competition. It is a friendly | :25:24. | :25:26.
rivalry, they could not be more different in terms of their styles | :25:27. | :25:31.
and cultures, the Japanese star is very fluid and laid-back, and Javi | :25:32. | :25:39.
is Spanish, they rile each other. The coach of both in Toronto has two | :25:40. | :25:44.
Olympics over medals, so he understands where they have come | :25:45. | :25:47.
from, but he's as either of them would not be as good if it were not | :25:48. | :25:52.
for this relationship in training. -- he says. We have got a Brit in | :25:53. | :25:57.
action as well, Phillip Harris. What are his chances? I hope you will | :25:58. | :26:01.
enjoy this moment, because he did not have the best skate in the short | :26:02. | :26:08.
programme, and he was able to qualify in his first World | :26:09. | :26:14.
Championships. He has to go for the triple Axel, he needs the | :26:15. | :26:21.
triple-triple combination, let's see if he can pull it off. Here are the | :26:22. | :26:27.
standings after the short programme, and no surprises who is leading the | :26:28. | :26:31.
way. No, pretty much as you would have called it. Please welcome | :26:32. | :26:42.
Phillip Harris. Two time British national champion, his first time at | :26:43. | :26:47.
the World Championships, time to test himself on the global stage. | :26:48. | :27:14.
In for the Axel. Just a double Axel but managed to get the triple toe | :27:15. | :27:26.
loop off on the end, so making a combination of that. | :27:27. | :27:48.
Triple Lutz, triple Salchow, needed the hands down on the Lutz. The | :27:49. | :27:55.
rotation was there. That was the triple Axel, he did | :27:56. | :28:17.
very well-known to put the foot down all the hand, he will be given | :28:18. | :28:21.
credit for that. You need is the second triple Lutz. | :28:22. | :29:54.
Good again, the hand was close but not touching. | :29:55. | :30:35.
A bit of speed going into this final pass. Push, push, push, come on. | :30:36. | :30:52.
Made the rotation, so he is really pushing through. Not quite the | :30:53. | :31:01.
quality he would want. There is the triple loop. | :31:02. | :31:22.
Hold on, you need the rotations on the spin for the level. Such a shame | :31:23. | :31:36.
he had that fall. His arms are very high and he is is quite loose in the | :31:37. | :31:41.
body. He need to get his shoulders and elbows in, get him to rotate | :31:42. | :31:46.
faster. He is is languid in the rotation. | :31:47. | :32:01.
A season's best for the. He would have liked to have been over the 200 | :32:02. | :32:11.
mark. I have not done it before. I always do the first Axel. I didn't | :32:12. | :32:16.
today. I thought what am I doing, I had to think on my feet. Fell on it, | :32:17. | :32:21.
but I was, my brain was ticking, but yes, it was, it was a shame, it | :32:22. | :32:26.
wasn't my best, but you know, I will take it. I can build on it now, and | :32:27. | :32:30.
take this experience to the next season. | :32:31. | :32:34.
So disappointment for Philip but let us look as how the medals were | :32:35. | :32:38.
decided, starting with Olympic champion Yuzuru Hanyu. | :32:39. | :32:41.
He really is a very special skater. Robin's favourite, bookies's | :32:42. | :32:50.
favourite to recapture the title he won in 2014. | :32:51. | :32:54.
Yuzuru Hanyu, of Japan. Early mistake. On the quadruple | :32:55. | :33:27.
Salchow. Second triple Axel again, just not | :33:28. | :33:48.
the control we are used to seeing. Definitely not the performance he | :33:49. | :36:40.
was wanting to give. Applause. It is not what we expected | :36:41. | :37:49.
to see, it seems like all hopes of a second world title have slipped | :37:50. | :37:54.
away. For the great Yuzuru Hanyu. He knows it. You could hear there was | :37:55. | :38:01.
an audible gasp, that first fall. With the rotation, it looked fine on | :38:02. | :38:06.
the take off. You see his body leaning, he is at an angle. Not in | :38:07. | :38:08.
control of that one at all. Still in with a shout. He is still | :38:09. | :38:29.
there but 295, that is not what he is used to getting. | :38:30. | :38:39.
Let's welcome from China, Jin Boyang. | :38:40. | :38:42.
Just 18-year-old. He goes at some rate, into that | :38:43. | :38:53.
combination. Still got him 11.44 points. Not to | :38:54. | :39:17.
be sniffed at. Triple Axel, half loop, triple | :39:18. | :39:40.
Salchow, this better now. Not the combination he wanted. Not | :39:41. | :41:23.
the Quad, not the easiest or prettiest of landings. | :41:24. | :41:29.
Extra credit for doing it at the back end of the programme. | :41:30. | :41:34.
And another one, in come by nation. -- combination. | :41:35. | :42:06.
Agains not the prettiest of combination, but it was triple, | :42:07. | :42:17.
triple. Lutz and toe loop. So pointing racking up. | :42:18. | :42:18.
-- points racking up. APPLAUSE. | :42:19. | :43:27.
Well, he was packing in those points. Absolutely. This is the | :43:28. | :43:34.
entry into the Quad Lutz. No question he made the rotation. The | :43:35. | :43:37.
first of the Quad toe loop, he had to fight. He wanted to do a | :43:38. | :43:42.
combination there, thought no, I will leave that one alone. | :43:43. | :43:49.
Look that the technical 104, presentation 76. It is a lot of work | :43:50. | :43:56.
but goodness me the talent. Just 18-year-old. Incredible. | :43:57. | :44:06.
Oh to remember that far back! Here is Hanyu's training partner. | :44:07. | :44:12.
The defending champion, the European champion. The first span with regard | :44:13. | :44:26.
to win a word title. And here comes old blue eyes. | :44:27. | :44:55.
Oh, beautiful quadruple toe loop, like as a feather. -- light as a | :44:56. | :45:02.
feather. If you want my world title, he says, | :45:03. | :49:19.
you've got to come out and beat that! Absolutely sensational, the | :49:20. | :49:27.
best he has ever skated. Look at that, how smooth was that exit! | :49:28. | :49:31.
Goodness me! And then the same with the Salchow. Goodness me, that was | :49:32. | :49:38.
magnificent. You work hard and you deserve it. Oh! Goodness me! This is | :49:39. | :49:54.
a seasoned's best! 216. And that is a massively. And Hanyu's world | :49:55. | :50:04.
record was 330. Still a way off that, but outstanding. Look at that, | :50:05. | :50:10.
that is fantastic. So Javi is world champion. They lead the way once | :50:11. | :50:18.
again. Boyang Jin onto the podium for the first time. Go buy some | :50:19. | :50:22.
people are calling that the greatest free skate they have ever seen, how | :50:23. | :50:26.
does that sound to you? Well, it is a really good, complicated | :50:27. | :50:31.
programme. It has really hard technique, the jumps are the top of | :50:32. | :50:36.
the top, and the spins are hard. Everything in the programme is | :50:37. | :50:39.
pretty complicated, but also the music is really playful. I think it | :50:40. | :50:46.
is a little bit special, I know that people like it here. Gold for Javier | :50:47. | :50:51.
Fernandez, and you will be very lucky if you ever see a skate better | :50:52. | :50:56.
than that, it was outstanding, wasn't it? It was phenomenal, no, | :50:57. | :51:01.
people are saying this is probably the best figure skating long | :51:02. | :51:06.
programme that we have ever seen. We will have to wait a while before we | :51:07. | :51:11.
see another one like that, it was just breathtaking. Hands down gold. | :51:12. | :51:17.
No question. A good skate from Phil Harris, but he was disappointed. | :51:18. | :51:21.
That is potentially a good thing, because he understands what he was | :51:22. | :51:25.
capable of doing, he knew what he wanted to do, but he did actually | :51:26. | :51:29.
pull something is back and pushed through those elements. That is what | :51:30. | :51:33.
he has to take away, that he can pull it back when he needs to. But | :51:34. | :51:41.
not a bad debut. Time to move on to the pairs after a breathless | :51:42. | :51:44.
competition so far, who are we looking out for? It is about the | :51:45. | :51:48.
Chinese team, sensational in the short programme, they could be | :51:49. | :51:52.
looking for their first world title. We can join the action, time for the | :51:53. | :52:01.
pairs. These are the standings after the short programme, the Chinese | :52:02. | :52:05.
capital at the top are the ones to watch, and then the Canadians in | :52:06. | :52:10.
second place, also pretty good too! They are, reigning world champions | :52:11. | :52:14.
at the moment. No British interest in this event, unfortunately. | :52:15. | :52:21.
Second at last year's worlds, so hoping to go one better if you | :52:22. | :52:29.
glance in Boston. Skating together for ten years. -- go one better here | :52:30. | :52:37.
in Boston. Oh! Overcooked the throw on that. | :52:38. | :53:11.
That could be it, couldn't it? No triple there either, so they are | :53:12. | :55:13.
seeing the gold disappear from their One or two errors again, Robin. | :55:14. | :57:29.
Those of the errors they did not want to make. The quarter twist was | :57:30. | :57:40.
spectacular. They are going to be the leaders at this point, just not | :57:41. | :57:51.
by as much as they would like. Robin Cousins looking into his crystal | :57:52. | :57:57.
ball correctly. But as the defending champions, the Canadians who come | :57:58. | :58:00.
next are currently just a couple of points behind them after the free | :58:01. | :58:04.
programme. If they can nail the technicals, it could be the | :58:05. | :58:08.
difference - it could be gold tonight. They have a very strong | :58:09. | :58:12.
technical aspect to their programme, but it needs to work. | :58:13. | :58:40.
Side by side triple Lutzes for their chosen jumps. | :58:41. | :59:19.
So, in for the quad, no, just a trouble. Quad! And they have got it! | :59:20. | :59:30.
Quadruple Salchow. A little messy on the exit, but they | :59:31. | :59:58.
made the rotation, triple toe loops with double toes to follow. | :59:59. | :00:49.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE Waiting for a yes moment, and that | :00:50. | :02:55.
is the best of the night. Absolutely phenomenal technically. I still, I | :02:56. | :03:02.
am going to say I miss a little phenomenon news -- finesse in the | :03:03. | :03:06.
general skating but when you perform the elements the way they did. This | :03:07. | :03:13.
is the Quad. Not the prettiest position in the air. But she fought | :03:14. | :03:21.
for that landing. The flip. She seems to be celebrating. Each | :03:22. | :03:28.
element. I am not fan of that. But you can't ignore this could be | :03:29. | :03:30.
reasons of, look Well, she is very very very pleased | :03:31. | :03:47.
with that. Well, they are the ones to beat. | :03:48. | :03:56.
Only the German pair Aliona Savchenko and Bruno Massot can stop | :03:57. | :04:00.
the Canadians but despite a strong performance from them, they only | :04:01. | :04:02.
managed the bronze. -- bronze. Back-to-back titles for | :04:03. | :04:11.
the Canadian pair. Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford. And | :04:12. | :04:19.
China in second. And Aliona and Bruno in third. Determined skating | :04:20. | :04:23.
from the Canadian, no-one was going to take that title from them. They | :04:24. | :04:27.
weren't. I was rooting for the Chinese because they have been | :04:28. | :04:30.
consistent, and the Russian, well they were a bit inconsistent, and | :04:31. | :04:37.
didn't, were a bit cautious but the Canadians through caution to the | :04:38. | :04:40.
win. It was fantastic. Back-to-back word titles. Let us move on the | :04:41. | :04:46.
finale. It's the ladies free skate. This has been billed, as the new | :04:47. | :04:50.
stars of Russia against the old guard of America. Absolutely. The | :04:51. | :04:54.
press have made a huge deal about it. It is true. The young up start | :04:55. | :04:57.
Russians, who are sort of five or six or seven of them, that they are | :04:58. | :05:03.
capable of being on podiums but they are led by Evgenia Medvedeva, the | :05:04. | :05:07.
European champion. This time last year she wasn't old enough to | :05:08. | :05:10.
compete etch though she qualified. You have Ashley Wagner and Gracie | :05:11. | :05:13.
Gold who are sitting in a nice position, going we have been round | :05:14. | :05:16.
for a while, we want to prove that the Americans can be worthy of being | :05:17. | :05:20.
on the podium. So Russia, wait for us. Could it be one last hurrah for | :05:21. | :05:25.
the American Golden Girls? Let us get back to Boston and the action. | :05:26. | :05:36.
It is the finale. The last competition, the women's free skate | :05:37. | :05:40.
programme, and it is set up to be a kind of head-to-head between the | :05:41. | :05:44.
young stars of Russia coming through, against the old guard of | :05:45. | :05:52.
the USA. Many people's pick for the gold, | :05:53. | :05:58.
even though this will be her first World Championship, at age 16. Only | :05:59. | :06:04.
just become eligible for senior competition. Lots of people saying | :06:05. | :06:12.
she could start with a Gold Medal at the World Championships. European | :06:13. | :06:18.
champion just a few weeks ago. What can she do here? | :06:19. | :06:56.
That signature raised arm in the jumps. Triple jump, triple toe loop. | :06:57. | :08:40.
The musicality of the choreography is phenomenal. | :08:41. | :09:25.
Right down to the very last beat, she performed that. What an | :09:26. | :10:39.
outstanding, outstanding programme. Absolutely lovely. She jumps with | :10:40. | :10:44.
her arm raised. Do you get more marks for that? Yes, the low tasting | :10:45. | :10:52.
is spectacular. -- rotation, she has so much time to prepare, you see the | :10:53. | :10:56.
mechanics happening but it St no forced. | :10:57. | :11:07.
You were surprised to see Anna up in second, after the short programme. | :11:08. | :11:23.
She doesn't give you a lot of emotion. When she is performing. But | :11:24. | :11:32.
she is one of great inconsistencies, so she knows that she has got to | :11:33. | :11:36.
deliver every element here, tonight. And this could be the Championship | :11:37. | :11:38.
when it all comes together. He is on fire tonight. These jumps | :11:39. | :11:51.
are coming off with ease. -- she. Well, that is the performance of her | :11:52. | :15:41.
career, fantastic stuff! She has been third, has an chic, behind her | :15:42. | :15:46.
fellow countrywomen at the Europeans and the Russian championships, but | :15:47. | :15:50.
right in the mix tonight. Yes, she is! | :15:51. | :16:02.
Great flight, nice to see these skate have the same running edge on | :16:03. | :16:11.
the exit of the jump as she has coming in, keeping the momentum | :16:12. | :16:15.
moving, absolutely right over her blades on those landings. | :16:16. | :16:25.
Did she think she was going to go top? It looks like that was not the | :16:26. | :16:36.
best surprise. I do not think she would have seen Medvedeva skate, and | :16:37. | :16:42.
it is not another league, but she was fantastic, and she is exactly | :16:43. | :16:52.
where she should be. Right then, Gracie she says another fourth or | :16:53. | :16:56.
fifth place feels irrelevant - if she is not on the podium, it is not | :16:57. | :17:00.
worth it. That is better, triple toe, double | :17:01. | :17:33.
toe. Double, that is the gold gone for | :17:34. | :20:06.
sure. More than likely the silver as well. | :20:07. | :21:05.
Well, the crowd picked her up and wheeled her on, but there is only so | :21:06. | :21:11.
much they can do if it is not working for you on the ice, then it | :21:12. | :21:21.
is not working. So she is on the podium for now, but that means | :21:22. | :21:28.
American hopes for the world title rest on this lady's shoulders. She | :21:29. | :21:38.
has never won a World Championship, and she has hinted that this might | :21:39. | :21:43.
be her last season of competition, so this could be her last chance. | :21:44. | :22:39.
Oh, nice! Triple loop, loop, triple Salchow combination. | :22:40. | :24:14.
Triple Lutz, that is what we were waiting for! | :24:15. | :25:48.
That is what the Americans have been waiting for! She says she best when | :25:49. | :26:03.
she is the underdog. That lovely, absolutely beautiful. | :26:04. | :26:08.
Triple flip, triple toe loop. She has been downgraded in the past a | :26:09. | :26:17.
lot of four and a rotating some of the jumps. -- for under rotating. | :26:18. | :26:31.
The storytelling was exquisite, beautifully crafted programme. She | :26:32. | :26:41.
has done head! She is the world silver medallist. What a fantastic | :26:42. | :26:51.
performance from our new world champion, her first ever World | :26:52. | :26:55.
Championship competition, and Evgenia Medvedeva is on top by quite | :26:56. | :26:59.
a margin. And it turns out that gold medal | :27:00. | :27:04.
winning performance by Medvedeva was a world record, so we got to see | :27:05. | :27:09.
something really special. Incredibly special, and to see one so young in | :27:10. | :27:13.
her first World Championship to have that finesse, that poise, not only | :27:14. | :27:18.
technically brilliant, but artistically as well. You felt the | :27:19. | :27:22.
emotion from all the way through, spectacular. We have really enjoyed | :27:23. | :27:27.
some brilliant performances. Any standout moments? If I was there, | :27:28. | :27:32.
who would I like to watch again? It has to be Fernandez. It was serene, | :27:33. | :27:38.
incredible, fun, jovial, exactly how I like to skate back in the day! I | :27:39. | :27:46.
could not do the quads and triple combinations, but that was special. | :27:47. | :27:52.
Solid performances by the Brits. Yes, Kristin did herself proud in | :27:53. | :27:55.
the first event, now on the world stage. Phil Harris did make the | :27:56. | :28:00.
finals, did not have these Katie wanted but was able to do a personal | :28:01. | :28:05.
best. Falcons and Buckland, they are back, contenders for the future. -- | :28:06. | :28:11.
four Coomes. It has been a pleasure to watch it with you, 20 more sport | :28:12. | :28:19.
to come next weekend for you. -- plenty more sport. We have triathlon | :28:20. | :28:26.
action coming from Gold Coast in Australia, then live gymnastics, the | :28:27. | :28:30.
British Championships from Liverpool. Both of those events, | :28:31. | :28:34.
athletes battling for the place at the Rio Olympics this summer. All | :28:35. | :28:41.
that coming up next weekend, but what they championships it has been | :28:42. | :28:44.
in Boston, three successfully defended world titles, and a new | :28:45. | :28:49.
start in women's skating. For the ladies at least, the future looks | :28:50. | :28:53.
Russian. Thanks very much for watching, goodbye. | :28:54. | :28:57. |
