Good evening. The headlines: Rich Pickering has controversy erupts

over plans to lower tax rates for immigrants. The professional and

immigrants to move to Jersey are causing controversy. The Treasury

wants to attract more so-called 1:1K residents to the island by

island of wealthy people with a taste for good living. Now Jersey's

Government wants to attract more 1:1K residents. There are more than

100 in Jersey. The minimum amount of tax the super rich pay has

increased by 25%. Under the new plans, the amount of tax would drop

from 20% to 1% after the first large lump sum. It is about

enhancing the island. The knock-on effect these people give is

absolutely huge. They do not just employ housekeepers, gardeners etc.

They invest quite substantially. The it should not be happening on

the simple grounds of fairness. it should not be happening. We're

talking about a set of individuals who would pay 1% tax on Nani

earnings and compete with local based companies. -- any. That

should not be allowed to happen. is argued the move would make

Jersey more competitive. everybody wants to be less tax. --

everybody. And if we want to compete against other jurisdictions,

we should look at these things. -- if we want to complete. It is about

boosting the economy. I would hope that they have their pain the right

amount of tax, we would pay less. Making the rich richer or competing

on a global scale? It is all about money, money, money. An inquest

into the death of authority year- old motorcyclist in Jersey has

found he died of a head injury after driving while intoxicated.

Rafal Michal Malodzinski from Poland died after a collision with

Freddie Cohen says his new job as foreign minister needs dedicated

commitment. Last week I had to cancel 20 meetings with

parliamentarians and officials in Brussels and Westminster had Wright

1165 Metals, and 15 of those were won by the Jersey trio. -- they

Olympics in Greece. In gymnastics Jersey athlete made their mark.

Today they arrived home having bagged 15 of Team GB's rebels.

won gold, three silvers and three bronze. I was really amazed. I am

really happy. It was really brilliant. These medals were the

result of months of training in Jersey. Coach John Grady is

thrilled. It is a lot of hard work by the gymnasts, especially those

working at the higher levels. They need to put in a lot of pine into

spring training, skills training. That is what I have done over the

years and it has produced the result. For these three athletes

the event was the biggest of their lives so far. It was such a

successful games it is hoped they will be back next time once again

Dancers from the Channel Islands are celebrating after beating stiff

competition in the Dance World Cup in France. Out of 23 countries

taking part, team currency came 5th while Jersey made third place. --

team Guernsey. Representing Jersey at one of the biggest dance

competitions in a word. These youngsters were taking part in the

Dance World Cup at Disneyland Paris last week. Now back in Jersey, the

smallest stars say it is something they will never forget. It was

really good because we were representing Jersey. It was really

good fun. It is really good because you do not get that many chances to

go to Disneyland Paris. Erin Creedon and Elisha Harvey were on

the Jersey team. The island came third. Team captain Jordan Livesey

hat with the score, winning bronze, silver and duck macro for myself,

it was absolutely amazing. It was a great honour. For the team to come

third overall his incredible. The standard was so high. Everybody

should be so proud. It is the experience, it is coming back

celebrating our achievement. It is also an opportunity to put it

Jersey on of the world stage. That is important. With Guernsey coming

5th, these talented youngsters certainly did put up the Channel
