later. Householders in Guernsey are going

to be hit twice won the cost of electricity increases. Guernsey

Electricity is putting up prices at the end of this month and again in

April. It is to help the company recoup outstanding costs.

Another day, another breakfast, but from Saturday October 1st, making

breakfast will cost you more or as electricity prices shoot up.

The cost will increase by 2.5% at the end of the month, taking this

year's rise to just under 10%. increase for a standard customer is

eight pound 50. For repeating customer, it is �25. Guernsey

Electricity says it needs to burden the bill pair to help guarantee a

secure and reliable source of energy for the island. They are

also investing in infrastructure to enable a low carbon future. But why

is the cost going up so much? Guernsey Electricity is playing

catch-up because as the cost of importing oil rose several years

ago, it was not passed on to the customer. The world was a crazy

with increases in 2008. At that time, all our tariffs went up but

not enough to cover the costs. We are now recovering the remaining

costs. Guernsey Electricity maintain that price increases are

significantly lower than those recently introduced in the UK. They

also maintain that people should brace themselves for more price

rises next year. In man has appeared in Jersey

Magistrates' Court in connection with a hit and run up incident.

Antonio Monteiro has been charged with driving without due care and

attention. He injured a female pedestrian on La Rue a Don at the

weekend. The woman is still being treated in hospital.

Jersey Rugby Club -- the Gers rugby club player charged with drink-

driving last weekend has been -- arrested last week has been charged

with drink-driving. He is due to appear in court on Friday.

Later on, in Spotlight, a fiesta of balloons takes flight.

Sport, and Jersey Rugby Club to victory on Saturday in their first

home game in National League One. They played a team called the bees,

otherwise known as Birmingham and otherwise known as Birmingham and

Solihull. Entering the pitch for the first home game in newly

promoted National League One. After losing away last week to -- after

to win automatic -- an automatic place in the Olympic squad for

Britain after finishing 22nd in the marathon at South Korea. He was the

second British runner home, achieving a time of 2 hours, 15

minutes and 59 seconds. 10,000 music-lovers descended on

Trinity over the weekend for the Jersey Live Festival. Artists

include Madness and Plan B. Offstage, we saw pirates,

politicians and hen parties soaking up the sunshine. If you missed it,

I was there with BBC cameras, working hard to interview the

celebrities, mingle with the crowds and bring you all the action. It is

a tough job but someone has got to do it. We have pirates, popstars,

thousands and thousands of people, and on day one, we have had perfect

camping, but I cannot remember. What is your impression? It is

I have come from Wales. What you like about it? I love the music and

the people. It is so much fun. We have nothing like this and America.

because it is beautiful. If you have ever wondered what it is like

backstage at a festival, this is it. Some tense, plastic tables and

chairs and glamour shrubbery. The glamourous life of a pop star. Here

is a man who has just come off stage. How did the audience treat

you, Reg 32. It was an incredible vibe. I have not performed a much

yet. It really went off. I am really happy. What do you think of

our little island? Kind of different to the urban roots of

London? It is different, but as human beings, we have to be ready

to adapt to anything. Bowe was not ignorant. We went out and do some

shopping. I took some photographs and that some cool people. -- I was

not ignorant. # I keep on moving when the lights are low. Katie B,

how are you enjoying Jersey life? I'm loving it. The sun is shining

and it is great. A few people bottled us, though, and that is the

first place that people have thrown bottles. Shame on you, Jersey!

Apart from them, those silly people, everyone was brilliant. The front

row were really getting into it. They were really responsive. # I

keep on moving with the lights on, so come on baby, just one more song.

# Jersey Live is a festival for all ages. Yeah. Me and my friend have

been collecting money for charity. He is great for getting the money

because everybody loves a little cute boy. And backstage with Feeder,

a band that our festival veterans. I have seen you guys and many

festivals over the years. How do bigger festivals compared to a

festival like Jersey Live? It is the same vibe. It is great. We have

only been here 10 minutes so we're just soaking on the atmosphere.

Although the festival is smaller, I walk up this morning with no

clothes left in my suitcase. I am having the time of my life. Jersey,

Jersey Live, Jersey, Jersey Live! As the Festival comes to a close, I

have one of the organisers with me. Warren, you must be a happy man.

How has the festival gone? 10,000 happy people, fantastic. I hear you

have big plans for next year. always try to do more so hopefully

we will get three days camping and three days of the festival next

year. How many people? We will probably keep it to 10,000. Have

you got permission to extend it? Not yet but we're working on it.

Good evening. Rather an unsettled week to come. Very breezy at times.
